Unpopular opinion about horror

So, I like many, many, many, many fans love horror movies. But let me just take time to rant about something. Recently, I rewatched Cult of Chucky for like the 30th time since it released so I finally decided to look at the ratings on IMDb and a certain comment caught my eye. Basically a user just summed up the entire Child’s Play series as shit and said and I quote “it’s time to put the doll back in the box” and I just sort of absolutely fucking wanted to rip my hair out. Mostly because other iconic horror slashers are sitting on piles and piles of shitty movies. Like us horror fans mostly love the genre for these great slashers and we cheer them on as they slash their ways through cliches of characters that we all come to know. Child’s play legit has 7 movies and more for the future. And in those 7 movies are probably just 2 or three “bad ones”(I happen to love all of them but childs play 3 isn’t my favorite)But let’s just say for example the Friday the 13th franchise. Jason is one of my many favorite slashers but let’s be honest..most people just watch it for him and his kills. It’s just the same thing over and over and over again. Jason kills off the teens one by one, chases escapees into the woods, kills some horny teens, and eventually gets defeated by a final member or maybe even two. Same goes for Halloween. But some of the characters are memorable because their funny And quirky moments ((loved when Jason threw that waiter at the wall in Jason takes Manhattan)). On the other hand Child’s Play was brought down because Seed, 3, and I don’t even understand how some people don’t like Bride! It’s iconiiiiiic! Chucky is one of the many killers with a big personality and his movies are always different. Even with the first three of just the theme of getting Andy. I feel like Child’s Play is sooo underrated. Don’t even get me on the fact that he actually toys with your mind cause I’m sure we all thought about our dolls are something coming to life and killing us. The other guys just send chills down your back. In conclusion, I don’t hate theses movies I tend to sort of enjoy the bad ones(favorite Jason movie is Jason X)) so I’m most definitely gonna regret this post but if you want a more educated sum of what I said go to bakhtaks blog..she did something a while back on overrated horror movies.
