I remember the days of summer being hastened to an end by the approach of school. Back to school shopping was always a chaotic frenzy. Not only did I have to find out what each kid needed for their classes, I also had to make sure that they had appropriate apparel. I had a very strict budget for all of these items and I always tried to shop the sales.

My husband does not understand my constant search for “different” and “unique” clothing items for my daughter.  I’m sure though, that there are moms out there who can feel me on this one.  I have 3 teen boys, and then I have my darling, sweet (sometimes not as sweet), little girl!  Isn’t she the cutest?  I think so.  After having boys, and then finally having a girl, so naturally I’m going to want her to be different ;)

Even if you don’t understand me, Matilda Jane does.  Matilda Jane Clothing was founded by Denise DeMarchis.  She has created a line of clothing just for girls (and women too) that are completely unpredictable and definitely unique.  She started out as a 1 woman force, and soon grew to include the Trunk Keepers!  Matilda Jane is exclusive, meaning that the chances of another girl showing up to the school musical wearing an outfit just like your daughter’s, are slim to none!  I love that!  I know my little girl loves to get compliments on how cute she is, I feel like it is great for growing their confidence.  Matilda Jane rolls out a new collection twice a year.  Once in the Spring and again in the Fall.  I was super lucky to be able to receive a few pieces from the Wonderful Parade Collection.

When we received our outfit from Matilda Jane, she was so excited.  We received 3 pieces including the Cloudy Puffer Tee, the Love Bug Knot Top, and the Sweetheart Leggings. 

I didn’t even get to the clothing in the package before I was completely impressed!  I’m one of those kinds of people who is all about the packaging, and Matilda Jane goes above and beyond making everything super cute…..even down to the packaging.

Once I started pulling the garments out, immediately I could feel the difference in quality of the clothing than in other pieces I’ve purchased in the past.  Both the Sweetheart Leggings and the Cloudy Puffer Tee are so, so soft 95% cotton and 5% spandex! The colors are bright and pretty. 

My favorite piece though, was the Love Bug Knot Top.  This top is also very soft and it is 69% cotton, 28% nylon, and 3% spandex.  I initially didn’t know how the straps were supposed to fasten because there were no buttons…..so I went to the website to look it up. Turns out, you pull them through the holes and tie them in a knot……maybe the name of the top should have given that one away ;).  I actually love the idea of that, it just adds to the uniqueness of these pieces and well, it’s just adorable! One of my favorite features of the Matilda Jane Clothing Collections is the mixture of patterns in the pieces.  You can purchase several items from the lines and have the ability to mix and match them as you like. We finally got to wear her little outfit today for Easter at Paw Paw’s farm.  I love how girly and fun she looked, and I could tell she really liked the clothes as well.

I am now a huge fan of Matilda Jane and am excited to purchase some of the cute dresses for my daughter for Spring and Summer…..this one, is at the top of my list!

6.30 am alarm goes off. Children have been up for sometime like very large dancing elephant mice.  Manage to put the inevitable off, listening to Radio 4 till 7.00, but I know it’s a busy day.  Shower.  Dress.
