"Would you be so kind to elaborate, Tartaglia?" The clicks of his heels echoes in the hall, bouncing off walls housing at least 3 meters thick of ice. Somewhere across the long stretch of ice-cold floors, Pantalone could spot a very tall and energetic youth trying to run away at the sight of him.

Unfortunately for Tartaglia, it is too late.

He laughs a light, feathery laughter, knowing what Tartaglia is trying to avoid. The gods willed that humans would fell to greed. And ones like Tartaglia who knew nothing of restrain or tact would no doubt succumb to it. "Your debt to the Fatui grows. And I'm unsure how much longer I can hold it for you until the higher-ups ask." Reaching up, he pushes his glasses further up his nose. "Let that be a gentle warning that insolence does not go unpunished in the long run. It would be too enjoyable for the Fatui to get another half-day off work, wouldn't it?"

At times like these, he found being deaf to be a gift rather than a disability. As the world around him snaps into silence, the only thing he 'hears' is the movement and aura radiating from the human body. Most times, they were rather accurate.

"Hurry on now, go back to what you were doing. Don't want any of the other Fatui Harbingers to find you dilly-dallying here, don't we?"

it’s not like zhongli ran away or hid himself. it’s not like he donned a disguise and lied. and he isn’t ashamed or should be ashamed of the life he led leading up to the loss of his GNOSIS. but the moment he catches childe’s eyes in the middle of the marketplace, zhongli has the sudden urge to  L E A V E . 

they did not part ways on sour terms, but perhaps it would be better described as shocking and abrupt rather than BITTER. nevertheless, despite zhongli’s desire to turn away, he knows better than most that there’s no running from a past that wishes to chase you, must less a past that wants to HAUNT you. a mortal proverb comes to mind as he strides toward childe.

Golden eyes fluttered in rapid succession for a moment before coming to an abrupt halt, just in time to keep from colliding with a sudden obstacle. “Ah?” A sound of surprise followed as she stumbled back a step, until golden orbs lifted to meet with a familiar ocean. “Childe!” Balled fists met the curves of her hips as she glared up at him, with a playful undertone.

“Watch where you’re going, won’t you?” Shaking her head, she made an act of dusting herself off. “Miss you? I was wondering why it’s been so quiet, lately.” She shot him a lopsided smile in response; as if she’d ever openly admit such a thing, but maybe she did. But he didn’t have to know that.

Teucer let out a loud laugh as he picked up by his brother. He squished his brother’s cheeks smiling. “No fair! I almost made it to home base!” He teased hands already pulling the other’s mask off to toy with it as he was carried.  Last game of the day meant they had to go start sleep preparations. “Are you cooking tonight? I miss your stew!!” He chatted putting the mask over his face looking at the people through the slits as the older one walked. The air was so much warmer here and the agents didn’t mill about as much. He hummed an old tune thinking of possible meals for dinner.

formally? zhongli tries his hardest not to glance down at his outfit. truth be told, it’s like A UNIFORM. zhongli’s daily duties are to serve liyue, to oversee its safety, and when one has a position of authority, a uniform is warranted so that those who are in need of your assistance can find you quicker, easier. perhaps his “formal” attire, could be akin to a uniform.

   ❛   i dress as i wish,   ❜    he says simply.    ❛   you could say, this is my fashion style, right? one might prefer more casual clothes. another might prefer EXTRAVAGANT clothes. perhaps i am the one who enjoys a more formalwear.   ❜    

he pauses again, fiddles with the tips of his gloves. an officer is in need to stand out in order for those in need of his assistance to find him quicker and easier, but an ARCHON OF THE AGES who wishes to blend into the mortal masses must be a seamless part of their lives. the fashion trends have changed, and perhaps zhongli must change with it.
