Hi <333. I don't remember which account you know me by, but I'm the one who mainly talked to you about the "13+ reasons why Poseidon should (not) have adopted Thalia Grace" post, and this is my new account since I deleted the old one <3.

Anyway, I just saw your "Child of Amphitrite" post and I wanted to introduce you to my own "Child of Amphitrite" OC <3

Name: Ophelia Alexandra.

Father: Doesn't deserve a name Diabolos Alexandra

Mother: Amphitrite, Queen of the Seas

Backstory: Ophelia Alexandra grew up to an obsessive father who only ever wanted to bring back her mother. He and Amphitrite had met when he was stranded at sea, a particularly nasty set of circumstances bringing him from a enjoying a normal fishing trip to literally near starving. Amphitrite noticed the lost sailor and decided that he would be a nice hook-up for her before sending him off back to land and so they had their one night stand. Only, Amphitrite was pregnant, which she never intended to become and only had one demigod child before this, and so she decided to leave little Ophelia with her father, not thinking much of it since she'd seen he was a good man during their encounter--being more annoyed at the general circumstances than anyone in particular during his stranding--and knew it'd be better for her half-nereid daughter to chose whether or not she wants to live her mortal life in the oceans or up on land. Unfortunately, Amphitrite never expected how parenthood would change the man nor how different he would become after their encounter.

And so Ophelia lived with her father right beside her in their little boat and shop but never truly knew who Diabolos Alexandra was. Even his friends stopped coming by their little shop, creeped out by how obsessive he was become in his search to find her mother again. He's even tried stranding himself with--and without--Ophelia multiple times in hopes to maybe lure Amphitrite back. Amphitrite never answered him, having not usually checked up on past flings and being busy as the Queen of the Seas. She did check up on Ophelia, though, and usually around her birthday when she gave her daughter up to Ophelia's father.

Unfortunately, that was the day Diabolos finally snapped and tried to sacrifice his own daughter, thinking that Amphitrite's rage will finally bring her back to him or that the goddess will be pleased at his brutality, mirroring that of the Ocean's. But Ophelia herself was having none of that. She was nearing 12 at the time and, honestly, being around the water all the time was making her sick, the lake was giving her the creeps, and she was starting to get lonely. So as soon as Diabolos grabbed his daughter and threw her overboard, pushing her face down and down, she grabbed his arm, kicked the boat, and threw him overboard with her. I won't go into details... but let's just say the dude died and the nymphs were both horrified and also really impressed because hell yeah dude!

Amphitrite was disgusted by Diabolos's behavior and made quick work of getting Ophelia and all her five things to the United States and to the Jackson Family Apartment, where her step-brother and step-sister lived (in this world, Percy has an older sister about 3-4 years older him and is 15 in the Lightning Thief. She, Penelope Jackson with absolutely no nicknames, and Ophelia get along immediately as they are the same age and have the same knowledge that their world extends beyond the "normal barriers.")

Powers:

Ophelia is Half-Nereid! And so her skin is extremely pale no matter how much sunlight she gets and she has gills! Unfortunately, they shrink with disuse but are really easy to cover up with jackets and sweatshirts which Ophelia wears religiously bc she is always cold and traumatized from having killed her own father

She can breath underwater and communicate with all types of sea animals. More than even Percy can because Poseidon controls more of the ocean-itself aspects while Amphitrite focuses on the animals within it!

There's not much else to her other than the night vision (that unfortunately comes with sensitivity/aversion to light & migraines) and extremely sharp teeth/claws that come with her being part nereid but trust me, those are absolutely cool too and she doesn't need flashy powers to be any less of a powerful Princess/Demigod.

And, Lastly, Fun Facts!

She doesn't really like killing... at all... which is why Penelope is there and they're best friends because Penelope will absolutely rock someone's shit without even having to ask.

Penelope + Percy are Princess/Princes of the Oceans themselves but Ophelia is regaled as higher than them by the Sea Creatures within it. So, basically that means the oceans listen to Percy + Penelope but the Creatures listen to Ophelia (although they can somewhat easily command, but more like ask, in the other's domain anyway)

Ophelia suffers from terrible migraines which are not helped by the fact that she had to learn how to write and read at 12/13 years old because all Diabolos taught her was how to obsessively fish, track, and hunt :)

Surprisingly, she loves fish and Percy is absolutely Offended(TM)

Absolutely no thoughts, head empty most of the time but luckily it's just in a neutral way. She doesn't need thoughts <3

Plays a variety of instruments because she learned the notes/how to read music as she was learning how to read (since Penelope was trying out in band + choir at the time to see what she liked [she eventually picks choir]) and plays a bunch of instruments to accompany her sister's solos and their school's performances. It's a running joke how the band teacher keeps trying to recruit her at the end of every performance but she finds the band intimidating and icky. They're loud and she likes the simple and straight-cutness of her learning on her own/with Penelope and then practicing every once in a while with the choir.

She has Major Anxiety and hates crowds because they're unpredictable--especially to her, having grown up Very Isolated--and loud.

firstly, we def need to talk more abt this world you have with percy and penelope bc theres so much there, secondly, i have a new side blog, @reefs-camp-blog, where i now do most of my pjo stuff, so we can chat there more too!

now: onto ophelia:

i love her. absolutely incredible, honestly i kinda forgot about the child of amphrotrite thing for a while, and im so glad its getting something!

if my dad was as shitty as hers, then yea id probably kill him too. i also imagine poseidon subtly assisting in his death bc i feel like he sees amphritrites kids as his (and vise versa), and no one fucks with his kids, he just didnt get the best chances to do so before

also with her physical appearance, maybe if the light hits her in a certain way, it looks like she made out of water

i dint really have many other thoughts on her, aside from, her and sliver should be besites (sliver is the other child of amphritrite i made in the original post here)

and also im truly so glad to see you back!!
