Tip My Helmet {Eomer x Elf!Reader Oneshot}
Wordcount: 4004 Requested by: Anonymous Summary: You're an elf, the sister of Legolas, while he is a human. Though war brings you close to one another, is there a chance for after?
This was not where you expected to be during a time of war. Inside of Rohan, drinking human ale with all of the survivors of the Battle of Helm’s Deep - and the newly re-found Merry and Pippin. You stood with your brother as Eomer handed out tankards, one to you, one to Gimli, one to your brother. Some kind of juvenile drinking game. You played such things back in Mirkwood from time to time, but with alcohol that was much stronger than this. Your hands wrapped around the tin, feeling the warmth of the drink within. “No pauses,” Eomer was explaining. “No spills.”
“And no regurgitation,” Gimli added on, his eyes large like a child’s as he brought his lips to the foamy liquid swimming atop the ale.
“So, it’s a drinking game?” Your brother asked in an innocent tone, making you smirk slightly to yourself. Legolas was a lightweight, by Elven standards, but with this ale, he’d still be standing strong by the time that everyone else is passed out. Eomer’s eye caught yours with a look of amusement, and you smiled softly.
“Last one standing wins!” Gimli announced, sounding very sure of himself. His laughter filled the air, along with the cheers of the Men of Rohan. Both his large hands went around the cup and brought it to his lips.
“What’ll we drink to? To victory! To victory!” The men around us called out. You lifted your drink towards your mouth, taking a sip of it. It tasted much more earthy than you had been expecting. Not a bad taste at all. Your eyes went from the handsome ones of Eomer to your brother, who ventured a taste as Gimli was chugging his down. He was getting froth all over his beard, something which amused you to no end.
Every time a tankard was emptied, Eomer would hand over another. You stopped yourself at four, shaking your head towards the Rider of Rohan. But your brother and Gimli kept going, to the surprise of the men around. More and more of the metal cups riddled the tabletop. Another two gone, before Eomer could even finish filling two more. Gimli stood on his chair to look at all the empty cups, your own three included, and let out a very drunken laugh.
“I’m not sure we should be doing this,” you said to Eomer, as your brother sipped at his own drink more delicately compared to everyone else around. “I’m starting to suspect that this will damage him beyond tonight.”
“It’s the dwarves that go swimming with little, hairy women!” Gimli said out of nowhere, saying this as if it were a matter of pride. And then let out a burp that made even you grimace, his eyes crossing as he stuck his face back into his cup.
“I feel something,” Legolas said, looking at his fingers. Eomer looked bewildered, and you sighed, shaking your head again at how damn adorable he looked like that. “A tingling in my fingers. I think it’s affecting me.”
“What did I say?” Gimli said, his words coming out in a strong slur. “He can’t hold his liquor.” His eyes crossed again, then rolled back into his head and Gimli fell down onto the ground. Head over heels.
“Game over?” Legolas said. You chastised him with just a look, for being dramatic like this. It hadn’t been a fair contest - but at least no humans had decided to join in. That much would probably have killed them.
Your group parted, Legolas helping to carry the slumbering Gimli to his room, and you moved further into the party. You found yourself being caught up in the festivities, Eowyn asking you for a dance, though you knew this was just a guise. She really wanted to learn more about Aragorn - but you stayed tight-lipped about the subject, merely smiling and dancing with her in the center of the room. The mood in the air was good. You had all won a grand victory for Rohan, for the light. A large army had been vanquished. The dark was losing the battles. You then danced with Merry and Pippin, both of them holding one of your hands. You were laughing along with them, at their enthusiasm, at their positivity. You even caught sight of Gandalf and Aragorn sharing a smile while watching you. But as you were getting ready to go over to them, a familiar set of hands touched yours gently. “Time for one last dance, my lady?”
You met Eomer’s eyes, and you smiled at him, letting his hands take hold of yours. “I’ve told you not to call me that,” You reminded, chiding him gently.
“My apologies,” he said, bowing his head. “It’s a hard habit for me to break.”
“Perhaps you should try harder,” you said, as the jaunty music continued to play, and you started the dance with Eomer. Hand in hand, you went through the steps of a folk dance, picking it up quickly. It was simple, with a few foot movements. With your bodies being close to one another. Your tunic brushed up against this, your body proximity close. He merely chuckled again, and his breath was warm against your neck while you danced. It finished with a twirl, your long hair, blonde like your brother and your father’s, flying through the air, then resting against your shoulders as you found yourself in Eomer’s arms.
There were cheers from the men around. Whistles. They seemed to be more cheering for Eomer than for yourself, you noticed, as if he had done something bold, something - he should be rewarded for. “Thank you for the dance,” he said, bowing his head to you.
“A pleasure as always, Eomer,” you said, returning the gesture. But you didn’t let go of his hand as everyone went back to their own business. No longer looking at the two of you. “Would you like to go for a walk with me?”
He raised an eyebrow at you but then nodded his head, not a bow. He let go of your hand, but followed you through the throngs of people, his large presence making you very aware that he was there.
The sweet-smelling breeze of the night air cooled your face once you stepped outside of the castle. You didn’t move too far, not going down the stairs quite yet to the city. It felt like a welcome difference from the heat inside, with the fires and the humans all crowded together, sweaty and warm. Your eyes turned upwards, looking towards the skies. The stars were bright tonight. They, too, seemed pleased by the victory.
“The stars - I believe they’re shining for us tonight,” You mumbled towards Eomer. “Even the sky is pleased about our victory. We’re on the right path.”
“You think so?” Eomer said, leaning against one of the columns of the front of the castle, his arms crossed as he looked up and out as well. “How can you tell? They look like plain stars to me.”
You chuckled, finding his humanity endearing. “The stars are beloved to my people. We have a relationship with them. They help us during times of trouble - and have always been dependable.”
“Trees, stars,” Eomer said, his eyes coming down from the skies to linger on your face. “Is there anything that you don’t have a relationship with?”
His tone showed that he meant no offense. He was a curious man. He had told you, when you had been riding back from the Battle of Helm’s deep, that he hasn’t had much contact with elves before. He had asked you about your homeland, about your brother, about how you had learned the skills in battle that you had shown. He had some outdated ideas about how women should not fight. But he couldn’t deny that you had been an asset.
“Everything,” You grinned. “The air around us is beloved to us too. When the wind is strong, it lifts us. That is why it is so easy for us to live among the trees. We can be brought right up to the top where our homes are, thanks to a stiff breeze.”
“You mean-” he said, moving away from the column, and walking up to you, his expression baffled. “You can fly? The air can make you fly, like a bird, or a Nazgul-birds?”
“Yes,” You nodded, keeping a straight face. “You did not know this?”
“No!” He said, amazed. “Can you call on the wind? Can it take you wherever you want to go? Could you-”
Your straight face failed you. Your shoulders started to shake as you began to laugh. Unlike a lot of other elves, you had managed to have a sense of humor. Playing with the other races, this bit of mischief, was one of your favorite things about this whole adventure. “I’m sorry, Eomer. I was only telling tales. Although all of the elements are important to us, all have their uses, air does not help us to fly.”
“You almost had me there,” Eomer said with a chuckle. “We could have won the whole war if that was true. It would be done in seconds. Just fly over Mount Doom and drop the ring in.”
“Unfortunately, it cannot be so,” You sighed, and looked up at the stars once more. Even though you were in a different area, the stars were much the same as the ones you saw at home, and you could follow them like a straight path right on back if you so desired. “But there is still hope, written in the night skies. These stars, they’ll show Frodo and Sam the way, just as surely as they’ll show them the way back home.”
Galadriel had given Frollo the light of the star of Eärendil. They were already involved now.
“You see that, in the stars?" Eomer asked, his voice sounding incredulous. You didn’t blame him for not believing you. Men were … a lot more folly. They’d believe in Gods that they could not see, but they didn’t believe in the very lights in the sky that they could.
“As long as there are stars, Eomer, there is hope.”
You had spoken with your brother. He and Gimli were going to follow Aragorn through the passage in the mountains. The passage that would bring them either to a great success - a secret weapon of sorts - or deadly peril. But that was their choice to make, so you only wished them safety, and that you would see them again during the war. You weren’t going to join them. You felt like your place was here, more so with the people of Rohan. With Eomer, who you had grown close with over the journey. And Eowyn, whom you already thought of as a sister.
You had been walking back towards the speaking brother and sister, when you heard words that you didn’t quite agree with. And being the person that you were, you were going to say something about it.
“War is the province of men.”
“Men?” You questioned, making Eomer turn around. “No matter which way you mean it, whether gender, or race, you do not think that I am for battle? No - you must mean the gender, for you have had no problem fighting alongside elves, and dwarves.”
You had missed that he had been talking about Merry at first, though you were on Eowyn’s side in that argument as well. Just as you had every right to fight, as did Aragorn, Theoden, Eomer himself - Merry and Eowyn both had the ability to decide to fight. But right now, you were just defending Eowyn. And yourself.
“Though I don’t remember you having a problem fighting alongside me, either,” You spoke aloud, remembering the moment that you had caught eyes with him for the first time, while searching for Merry and Pippin. And then again during the battle for Helm’s Deep, when he realized that you were there, in the full swing of things, your armor stained with blood, cuts and bruises on your arms, just like everyone else. “So, it’s just your sister you’re coddling for the moment?”
“I am not coddling,” Eomer insisted, his eyes lit up by the reflection of the fire that he had been sitting near only a moment ago. “I’m explaining the way that things are. You - you are a valuable warrior; I will give you that but-”
“That should be in the end of your sentence,” you said, sharply. “You cannot respect me as a fighter, but disrespect your sister’s wish to be the same. She might not have the experience of war that you do, no, she does not have that. But she has the same amount of heart, the same determination, the same reasons to go into battle as you have. The only differences between you are what is in between your legs, and what expectations were put upon you by someone else.”
Eowyn looked surprised, and Eomer - he just looked stunned by your words. No one had dared to talk to him like that before. Especially not a woman. “I just don’t want her to get hurt,” Eomer finally said his real reason for thinking like this. There was something about you that made his heart go in front of his brain, in front of his reasoning. “I don’t want either of you to get hurt. But she,” He said, looking towards his sister, “-she is the future of Rohan. Eowyn, you are who everyone is going to follow if something happens to-”
The word went unspoken. The King. If something happened to Theoden, it would be Eowyn that would be in charge. She would be the Queen of Rohan, taking care of the survivors. Starting over again in the city after it had been ravaged by orcs.
“But - that is not a good enough reason,” Eowyn insisted. “I worry about you, about everyone that is going out there. My friends - my family - don’t I deserve to fight for them too?”
“But-” Eomer started, but then looked between the two of us, and he saw that he was going to lose this argument. It was two against one, and both of us were speaking logically - even though he had his own good reason nonetheless. Eowyn turned on her heel and walked back to her tent, most likely to practice her sword skills once more. You had caught her doing it before. Had even given her some advice on how to use her reach to her advantage.
You approached Eomer, and daringly, you put your hand on his shoulder. You were in close proximity to him. You could smell the stew on his breath, though this was not unpleasant. It was a hearty, human-type smell. His shoulder was large underneath the fabric that he wore, which had been made warm with his own body’s heat. His hair tickled at the back of your hand.
“You do have a good heart, Eomer, and she knows that you love her, and that you care. But restricting her, keeping her in a cage like a pretty bird, is not the way to do it. Nor, exactly, is trying to claim that only men should be in war. I took offense to that.”
“I apologize for offending you,” he said, his eyes intense. Beautifully bright while being lit like this. “But I have seen you in war. And you have had years of training for it, that much was clear. You’re very skilled,” he said, his hand reaching towards your waist now in a show that was as ostentatious, as audacious as your hand upon his shoulder. It brought you both closer together than before. “You’re like a dancer out there, when you fight, you make it look easy, while we both know that it is not.”
“It isn’t,” You agreed. You had trained for centuries to be as good as you were, against all manner of foe. “But is that not all the more reason to help her rather than dissuade her? You’re an excellent swordsman, Eomer. Only rivalled by your skills as a rider. She’s going to find a way to fight whether you accept this or not. Would you not do the same?”
Eomer groaned, his thick eyebrows furrowing as he was really listening to what you were saying. “I know my place -”
“So let her decide hers,” you said, firmly, your breath upon his chin now, close. “I will help her, if you do not. The last thing either of us want is for her to get hurt. So, relieve yourself of your stubborn nature for only a couple of days and allow me to do this. It will only benefit her.”
“Fine,” he said, gritting his teeth, his eyes drilling holes into yours. “You can teach her. But I cannot. I’ve got too much to do with the rest of the army, we’ve barely recovered from Helm’s Deep.”
“I understand. Leave it to me, Eomer,” you said, your voice hitting him like soft silk against his cheeks, cool but comforting. “I’ll do my best to make sure you don’t lose anyone you love in this battle.”
“Including you?” He asked, without missing a beat. Your breath got caught inside your mouth, whatever words that you were thinking of saying next just rolling around on your tongue, but not escaping. You closed your lips for a second, as he looked on at you, nervous, anxious, earnest.
“Including me,” you said finally with a curt nod. He breathed out in relief, the smell of ale tickling your nose. He pressed a soft kiss onto your forehead, the first sort of affection like this that you had, and then left you to talk to his sister about what was going to happen going forward.
The battle was won, though there were great losses all around. You had not been able to keep your promise to him, for he had ended up losing someone that he loved. His own uncle. Your heart broke for him when he had found his uncle’s corpse, Eowyn bent over it, crying, Merry standing there with tears down his own face. The sound that Eomer had let out sounded more pained than anything you had ever heard before. Like he was the one who was dying.
You knelt down on Eomer’s other side and you rested your hand on his back, over his armor. He could not feel your touch, but he could feel your presence, and that had to be enough for now. “I’m sure he fought valiantly until the last,” You spoke, looking at the still noble face of Theoden, King of Rohan.
“He did,” Merry said with a nod, the sob very evident in his voice. “He surely did, my Lady.”
You did little to try to stop the crying of those around you. You only offered a hand to Eowyn, your closeness to Eomer, and your great respect to the little hobbit who was also trying to keep things together through his own grief. The latter had gone to try to find his friends, to find Pippin, no doubt, and you wished him the best of luck as he went. You did not go searching - you stayed put, feeling a familiar sense that your own brother was still alive, wherever on the battlefield he was.
Time went on. Fallen warriors were identified by the living, and were loaded onto carts, respectfully, to be carried back home to be buried. The King was given special treatment of course, being overseen by Eomer and Eowyn, as well as Aragorn himself. You and Eowyn had picked flowers to lay across his body for transport, signs of love, signs of respect. And you rode with Eomer, the first woman to ever ride upon his horse with him, holding onto his waist from behind.
Your own feelings were divided between grief and love. It was easy for the two to mix together, to combine into something bittersweet. As you rested your head upon the back of his shoulder as his steed, Firefoot, trotted beneath you, transporting Theoden back, you had a lot of thinking to do. The idea of leaving Eomer made your heart ache painfully, something you had never felt before. You knew what this unfamiliar feeling was - it was love. But there was a divide between you two - your races, your lives. He was human, his life was fleeting, he was aging before your very eyes and would soon be the age his uncle was when he died, and then older, and older, until death would greet him, hopefully peacefully.
The war wasn’t over. Once you reached Rohan, word was coming that Aragorn was planning on bringing as many troops as would come to Mordor. For Frodo, to give him time, to destroy the ring and the evil that came with it. There has not been much news of the hobbit, but there was still hope that he was out there. That he was close to achieving the end-goal.
“Will you ride?” You asked Eomer. His eyes set upon you as they did many times before, darkened by the sorrow but with a bright, determined light still within.
“I will,” he said. “I need to see this war out to the end. Do what my uncle could not.”
You nodded, understanding him. He was preparing for a night of rest in his own room once more before the ride back to Minas Tirith to meet up with Aragorn and his army. He removed his helmet, his hair falling down around his shoulders, braided still from before the battle. You moved towards him, your fingers running through the strands, shiny with sweat and oils. “I will be coming too.”
“And there is no way I can talk you out of it?” Eomer asked, looking into your eyes, licking his chapped lips. “No way to convince you to stay here, and wait for me?”
“It would be like asking the sun to wait to rise,” You admitted, moving to cup his cheek instead, his bristly facial hair rough against the smoothness of your hand. “It is in my nature to go where I am needed, and that is where I feel I must be. Fighting with my friends. With my brother.” You paused for a moment. “With my love.”
The corner of his lips went up into a smile at his admission, before quickly going back down again. “And - if I lose you?”
“Then that’s the path that fate had set us down upon,” You spoke. “It would be only too easy to stray, to find a way to another path without the potential of that hurt - but I want to remain on this one and take that chance. I want to be with you, as human as you are.”
His lips met yours quicker than you could have imagined, as if he was as swift as an elf. You closed your eyes and melted against him, feeling yourself growing rather than shrinking into this feeling. It was distressing, how fast your heart was beating inside of your chest for a man that you would only be able to hold onto for a short time. That divide - it was like the distance between two stars up there in the night sky. Further apart than one could feasibly imagine. And yet - you were both part of the same constellation regardless. Connected by a single link, and that was your feelings for one another. Whatever this final battle brought on, you’d hold onto that link, and use it to make yourself stronger, like how adding strands to a braided rope made it stronger. And you’d use it to your advantage.
For Frodo.
And for your future, as long as it may be, as much strife and loneliness might come upon it later, you would enjoy these moments of passion, of romance and of Eomer, and make each moment stretch to feel as if it lasts forever.

Dwarf Princess
Haldir x Dwarf!Reader
Warning: prejudice from elves against dwarves, angst, happy ending
a/n: For the sake of this story many things were changed in the original, also this has been in my drafts for about a year lol.
Deep within the forests where the birds sang surrounding a beautiful dwarf whom sat against a tree staring at her dear uncle chatting amongst the humans and the hobbits and his new frenemy, Legolas, the prince of Mirkwood.
She would not lie that he was pleasant site, he stood tall with long beautiful hair that fell down his back and broad shoulders that carried a head with a beautiful face adorned to it.
" Y/n" called Uncle Gimli. She got up from her seat and walked towards him," Yes uncle ? " she asked.
" What's got ya sitting by all your lonesome."
" Just thinking."
Legolas smiled at her and placed his hand upon her head, ruffling her hair as she pouted.
" Do not fret, we will soon pass over and then you can sleep peacefully on a bed." She smiled at him at the last word, bed. Oh how she longed to lay on a soft and fluffy bed, Do not get her wrong, she loved the great outdoors but she missed the comfort of her very own bed and the fluffy blankets that kept her toes warm and the morning cup of tea her mother would make her.
" I just hope we get there soon, even if it is just for a night."
" Well Lass, one more night in the woods will not kill ya." replied Gimli as he chucked. She sat down near the fire, feeling the bitter cold nip at her fingertips.
" At this point I feel like the cold will kill me before the orcs do." She chuckled as she looked up to see Legolas hand her some Lembas bread.
" Eat little one we have a journey ahead of us tomorrow."
" I AM A GROWN ADULT !" she huffed before golfing down the bread and beginning to set her cot near the fire. Legolas chuckled, he had grown quite close to y/n, he saw her as a little sister, after all it was her first journey and he felt a need to always protect her, that and her fascination of elves as he recalled their first encounter.
.
.
. flashback.....
" Uncle Gimli, look it is an elf."
" aye aye lass, be careful, they lack coordination and are coy."
Legolas chuckled to himself as he stood tall in front of the dwarf.
" funny for someone who can not even see over the table."
" Why you !!" That began the bickering friendship between the two while y/n was full of questions.
" how tall are you ?! What is your diet ?! Are all elves blonde ?! Where do you reside?!"
Legolas had never been asked so many questions in his life as of right at that moment.
.
.
.
end of flashback....
Gimli looked at his niece, she was in deep sleep.
" She is quite tall for a dwarf." Said Legolas.
" Aye..I believe her father was a human, although my sister never shared anything of it."
He nodded understanding that the topic was sensitive.
" Ill take first watch." said Legolas before Gimli turned around and said," What do yah think I am not capable of-"
" My friends there is no need to argue.." Aragorn spoke trying to defuse the situation.
.
.
.
The next morning was filled with dread, everyone was tired and the cold and hard ground did not aid their back pain. They simply longed for a warm home filled with delicious foods of all kind.
Aragron had pushed them to continue walking for hours without breaks or even lunch. Their stomachs were grumbling and the mud was piling on their feet making them feel as if the world was weighing them down.
" This is where Lothlorien should be." said Legolas as they continued trekking into the woods. It was foggy and ominous, nothing like the rumors that have spoken about the beauty of it. Legolas himself shared some stories he often heard as a small child about it.
"Daro !" spoke a voice commanding from the trees above. They all stopped as Legolas whispered to them to standstill and to not move a single muscle.
"who are they ?" whispered Frodo. " They are elves." replied Sam. Despite the fear in the other hobbits and even Uncle Gimli, Y/n could not help but feel excitement bubble up in her stomach, although she was also weary, perhaps they may not take a liking that they are stepping within their domain.
An elf dropped down in front of Legolas smiling, "Welcome!" They all looked around, they were surrounded by the elves pointing their arrows in case one wrong move was taken. " How many are there of you ?" asked an elf, Y/n's eyes widened as she stared at the elf before her, sure Legolas was beautiful but he, he was simply gorgeous, he stood tall and proud. Legolas replied with," myself, four hobbits, two men, and two dwarves."
" two Dwarves ?!" yelled the dwarf. " Is the woman a dwarf ?!" he questioned taking in her appearance, she was a beauty despite the mud on her clothes and the matted braids on her head, but she still radiated despite that.
" I can not let the dwarves pass." he declared, Frodo had done his best to try to reason with him, but another elf whispered in his ear that the Lady was expecting them. The elf presented himself as Haldir, he continued to explain that he would have to blindfold them in order to be taken to the Lady, whom was expecting them and turned to look at the dwarves, " keep a close eye on them."
Despite the beauty of Haldir, Y/n was hurt at his words, how could he say such cruel things when she had not done anything to hurt his trust. She pouted, but soon widened her eyes as she saw her uncle beginning to unsheath his axe and yell at the elves.
" We are not spies !" yelled Uncle Gimli, Y/n grabbed his wrist as she noticed the elves beginning to take aim.
" Uncle Gimli, we are on their land, we must abide by their rules and customs out of respect, the same way they would in our home." Haldir glanced at y/n she seemed uncomfortable with the accusation as she stared down at her feet rubbing her arm and tried to keep herself from looking at him.
he cleared his throat and put his axe away," very well."
As they began to be blindfolded, y/n could not help but hold her breath. She felt the cool fingers of Haldir push her hair behind her ears, his breath fanning her face as his arms came around to tie the cloth around her head and cover her pretty eyes. He questioned her lineage considering she was almost the size of an average human woman, but still quite a short stature. He grabbed her hand gently and began to lead her, unbeknownst to her, the rest of the company followed by grabbing onto a rope.
After some time, y/n felt the blindfold being removed, the sight before her left her speechless. The trees were tall and beautiful, the sun casting a beautiful glow within the forest, the air felt clear and pure, the aura of Lothlorien was unmatched. It was truly a sight.
" Lady Galadriel knows of your presence, you may wander freely." said Haldir.
As y/n began to walk away Haldir grabber her wrist," my apologies, my lady, can I perhaps show you something ?" He found himself bewildered that he even let his curiosity get the best of him, he wanted to find out more about her, he was also blinded by her beauty.
She nodded and followed closely behind, what choice did she have, he was holding her wrist afterall. From a distance, Legolas held Gimli back and smiled as the two ventured off somewhere else.
" Will you let me go you imprudent fool, that idiot is running off with me nice !" yelled Gimli
" now now, Sir Gimli, let your niece live her youth, she is a young woman afterall, she can make her own decisions." Said Aragorn.
.
.
y/n and Haldir reached a large tree. He let go of her hand and climbed up then looked back down to offer his hand towards her. She smiled and took it as he helped her up the tree.
" Is there something you wanted to show me ?" asked y/n.
" Look ahead."
There she gasped as she the vast land of Lorien, the beautiful light casting on the land, the calm waters and the beauty of nature.
" It is so beautiful." she said as she smiled and felt the wind tickle her cheeks. He stared at her mesmerized by the light in her y/e/c eyes," yes, it is."
She felt herself blush as she turned around to make eye contact with him. " Sir, Haldir, um...."
" just Haldir is fine."
" Haldir, may I ask, why did you want to show me this ?"
".. I...I don't know, I felt compelled to, as if we were destined to see this together." said Haldir.
Her eyes widened as she stared into the blue eyes of Haldir both leaning in, " Lass get down here this instant !" she felt herself almost slip if it weren't for Haldir wrapping his arm against her waist. He then held her and jumped down from the tree.
He landed in front of Gimli and Legolas," Watch yer step !" yelled Gimli as he tumbled back onto his bum.
" y/n/n, you just met this elf and you're already run off and been seduced ?! " yelled Gimli, causing y/n cheeks to turn a crimson red and stomp her feet," Uncle Gimli, I am not a child anymore ! And I am not being seduced ! Hmph." She walked away as Gimli tried to go after her but Legolas held him back sighing as he whispered to Haldir to leave at once before Gimli turned his attention to him.
It did not take long for them to meet again as a small feast was being held. They offered her a change of clothing, a beautiful lavender dress which she had not worn one since she left. She felt comfortable being freshly bathed and groomed. She had long waited to wash her hair and many of the Elven ladies helped comb and braid her hair which had grown throughout the journey. She sat next to her uncle at the table excited to eat, the seat in front of her was taken by no other than Haldir.
" You look beautiful " complimented Haldir, Y/n looked down at her lap and felt her cheeks flush as she thanked him for the compliment.
"tch." Gimli was angry at the interaction his young niece was smitten someone, an elf at that.
but that all changed when he laid his eyes on Lady Galadriel, she truly was a beauty and the air around her seemed to glow as she welcome them. The company could not help but laugh at seeing his cheeks turn red when she spoke to him.
" What was that about being seduced uncle ?" chuckled y/n. Haldir smiled to himself as he stared at her smile.
The feast went on smoothly, many retreating to their sleeping arrangements. Y/n spoke to Lady Galadriel briefly and she spoke about loving someone, y/n was confused as to why she would talk. about that but Lady Galadriel smiled," my dear child, afterall you are still young and have such a long life to live, do not fret and continue forward." She thanked her for such encouraging words as she walked away to go to sleep.
Somehow Lady Galadriel had a worried gut feeling.
The next morning the company was to leave, Haldir felt saddened that he did not get so speak to y/n, but was content when he saw her in his dreams that night. He felt a connection and could tell they were destined."
" Haldir, perhaps we may see each other again." smiled y/n
He smiled as his bent forward to place a kiss upon her hand and looked into her eyes and spoke once more," I have a feeling we will my Lady. " He said and smiled sweetly.
Despite the two barely meeting, they had a feeling that they had lived before, perhaps in their previous life they were lovers.
And yes, they met again but in unforeseen circumstances, as they fought against the orcs in Helms-Deep, protecting the people of Rohan, the elves of Lothlorien came to aid the company and the army of Rohan.
When y/n laid eyes on Haldir, she could not help but smile at his presence. They all fought bravely, to the end, but once the battle ceased, y/n tried to look for Haldir. She was held back by Legolas
" Legolas, let me go, I need to find Haldir." She felt a gut wrenching feeling, " Please y/n.." Said Legolas. She finally broke free and saw the Many dead men and elves. but her eyes traveled to where Haldir laid. HE was still blinking looking up into the sky. She quickly fell to her knees and called out
" Haldir !" she felt the tear rushing down her cheeks as she stroked his cheek trying to clear him of the blood that stained his pale skin.
He reached a shaky hand and placed it against her cheek, he began to speak," I do not know why the stars led me to you, but I...I-I am glad to have met y-"
" please save your energy, you're going to be okay !!" yelled y/n as she gripped his hand tightly. She kept repeating to herself 'you're going to be okay ' , but it was far too late as he let out his last breathe. She placed her forehead against his and closed her eyes as she cried out silently to herself. The company whom had been separated from Master Frodo and Samwise stood looking at the two, Aragorn himself could not contain his sadness as they all mourned the death of many, especially the death of an ally.
Gimli felt pain for his niece, but did not know what to do other than place his hand at her back. She did not want to let go of Haldir but Gimli told her they must. She placed a kiss on his forehead and stood up fists at her sides. She decided in that moment she would avenge his death.
And she did, together with lady Eowyn she found the strength within her and the company to strike down Sauron and many Orcs. She fought bravely.
Upon returning to Rivendell where many elves had now taken their departure to Valinor. It was now time for her departure as well along Bilbo, Frodo and Gandalf. Her uncle and Legolas were going to stay behind but as she looked into her Uncle's eyes she noticed tears within them. " Do not cry Uncle Gimli, we will be reunited soon, please take good care of him Legolas."
She embraced the both of them as she cried and soon they set sail.
Just as Haldir predicted, they soon met once again....

Scary Day
Aragorn
After the war and all the fighting because of the dark lord, peace has finally graced Middle-earth. While everyone was enjoying themselves, there were still the problems of the remaining Orcs and uki-hai wondering middle-earth. That did not stop Aragorn and Arwen from having a son fourteen years after a little girl. A month after their son's birthday, they were blessed with a little girl, and they could not have been happier.
Four years later.
While Aragorn was teaching his son, Aaron, more techniques with a sword, Arwen was looking after their little girl, who had gotten lost in the castle once again. So as she was looking for her, she deemed it right to tell Aragorn and Aaron about it, well she told everyone in the castle that she was lost and if anyone saw her and they were to take her to either herself or Aragorn.
As they were searching the castle, they didn't think to look in the royal garden where all the beautiful flowers and breathtakingly tall trees. While the little princess was sitting in the gardens minding her own business and playing with the flowers, she didn't notice the things behind her.
Aragorn, Arwen and Aaron were looking all over the castle until Aaron said about the royal gardens and she could be there. When they arrived, they saw her playing with the flowers, but the shadow in the trees didn't go unnoticed by Aragorn.
"Y/n came here, please." He called to his little girl.
She looked to see her father, and the biggest grin found its way onto her face as she stood up and ran to her father, kneeling to hug her. He stood straight once again when her arms were around his neck, and his arm wrapped around her to stop her from falling. They began to go inside until Aragorn heard a string being pulled back. He put y/n down, who looked like she was about to cry, but when she looked up to him, reeling her pointy ears that she got from Arwen, she, too, heard the strings of bows being pulled back. Arwen had already got her in her arms and ran inside, closely followed by Aaron and Aragorn. Once inside, Aragorn began to give orders, and Arwen held y/n close. After everyone got into place, they made their way outside like nothing was happening, but when Orc began to fall to the ground, dead, they also began to help.
When everything had stopped, Aragorn looked to see elves standing there and at the front was a smiling Legolas. As he was about to say something, Aragorn heard people screaming and made his way back inside the castle to see an Orc with a scared little girl with h/c hair and watery e/c eyes was being held with a dagger to her throat. Instead of saying anything, he made his way up to the Orc and was about to cut his head off when he brought the dagger closer to y/n's neck. While he was having a staring contest with the Orc, Legolas made his way behind the Orc and grabbed his arm that had the dagger in and pulled it away from her neck, and the arm that was holding her was also pulled out. She dropped to the floor and crawled out from the Orc and towards her father. He scooped her up and hid her face in his neck as Legolas killed the Orc, and a guard dragged him outside to be burned alongside the other Orcs. When Aragorn moved to look at y/n's face, she did not move her face as she had her legs and arms tightly wrapped around him as she was crying softly. Arwen made her way over to them and hugged them both, and pulled Aaron in too.
A week later and the four-year-old still hadn't left the side of her mother, brother and mostly her father, and they did not mind because they knew where she was. Legolas was still in the kingdom, and she had already thanked him for saving her. One day Aragorn was looking over the city when a sudden happy giggle filled his ears and when he turned around, he saw little y/n being tickled by Aaron, who were both by the door, and y/n was in her brother's arms.
"Brother! Brother! Stop! Stop!" She cried in between giggles and laughter from Aaron.
"Never! For I'm going to keep my little sister all to myself." Aaron called as he stopped for a second and that was enough time for her to escape his grip and run into the room their father was in.
"Ada! Ada! Help me!" She called as she made pick-me-uppy hands as she ran towards him.
He didn't hesitate to pull her up when she got into arm's distance and swing her around, then bring her into a nice warm hug and kiss her forehead. He looked down at her to be greeted by a big grin on her face.
"So, sweetie, will you tell me what you have been up to with your brother?" He asked, and all she did was look towards Aaron with her head tilted to the side with a face debating whether to tell him or not.
"Well, when I had archery lessons with Uncle Legolas, she decided to have a go, with the help of uncle Legolas, of course. Then we played together and had something to eat. I read to her, and she played with nana for a while until I started to chase her and tickle her. She came to you." Aaron explained as he looked at y/n with brotherly love in his eyes and a bond that won't be easily broke.
When he looked down at her, she gripped his tunic, and he had a protective arm wrapped around her. He sat down and began to rock her backwards and forwards as she fell asleep in his arms, then Arwen came in with a blanket and when she saw Aragorn cradling y/n and talking quietly to Aaron as well she had a smile on her face and made her way over to them.
"It seems she beat me to it." Arwen said after placing the blanket onto her sleeping daughter.
"Nap Time?" Both Aragorn and Aaron asked at the same time.
She nodded then went to take her but was told otherwise by Aragorn who was enjoying holding his little princess like that, in his arms.
The end.

Love’s treasure; Kili x reader
*Author’s note*
Okay so this has been sitting in my inbox for awhile but I finally got the inspiration and time to do this fic after getting the boost from another Kili and Fili request as well as my Celestial story. So @sweetpeapod thank you for your patience and hope you see this fic and enjoy it as much as I did writing it these past couple days.
Synopsis: Reader is Aragorn’s older cousin (I imagine by 11 years so she’s about 21). Gandalf knew of her skills as a Ranger for both tracking and navigating and sought her out to be apart of the company.
NO WARNINGS REALLY JUST SOME FLUFF and a bit of angst from parental death/abandonment.

________________________________________________________
I observed the dark blue bead in my hand and pondered just how it had gotten lost. It was a game I’ve always like to play, anytime I would find a lost object or weapon I’d always come up with a good story on why it got lost and whether or not the owner of said object is out there scouring Middle Earth for it’s safe return.
“What are you up to sister?” I looked up and peeking from behind the Elvish statue was my baby cousin Aragorn, or better known for his safety Estel. Yes, Aragorn the future king of Men is in fact my cousin on his mother’s side (she is my father’s younger sister).
“I thought you were to be in your studies with Lindir? He’s taken a great deal of time and effort to educate you little one.” I lectured him with a raised brow as he came and sat down beside me on the bench.
“But I already know of the founding of Rivendell and how to speak Elvish.”
“Then tell me who was the mentor of Lord Elrond?” I replied in Elvish. He looked at me puzzled before he crossed his arms pouting.
“I don’t like you no more.”
“Oh yeah not the first time you’ve said that to me. Or the time after that or the time after that.” I playfully reprimanded him lowering my voice to as deep of a baritone as I could muster while tickling his sides making his squirm and laugh. “What was that you were looking at earlier?”
“What? You mean this?” I said picking up the bead. He looked at it with curious eyes and asked me.
“Where did it come from?”
“Why don’t you answer that question. Where do you believe this bead came from cousin?” he stared at the bead, pondering over it. His tongue slightly peeking out from his lips as he said.
“I believe…..this bead came from some merchants who were on their way to the Blue Mountains when suddenly trolls from the North ambushed them and gobbled them all up, leaving only this bead.”
“Goodness child! You really believe such a cruel fate came to innocent merchants?” he nodded. “Alright, then I’m going to have to speak with Elladan about changing your bedtime stories.”
“No please (Y/n). He tells the best stories don’t make him stop!” I smirked softly and said as I ruffled his head.
“Very well Estel. Now care to help me braid this into my hair?” he nodded as I sat down onto the floor so that he could properly braid my hair before putting the bead on it.
“Where do you think this bead came from sister?” he asked me.
“Well little one I’ve been putting a lot of thought into it. And I think this bead might hold more meaning than meets the eye. I believe this bead was once part of a Prince’s clothing ensemble. My story is that he fell in love with a woman but wished to give her not gold or jewels for her hand, but something more meaningful to him. So he took this bead from his clothing to present to his love. However, when he went to present his gift to his love, he had overheard of his love being taken by orcs while she was out for a ride on her horse. In his haste, he dropped the bead hoping to rescue his love in time.”
“And did he? Did he ever save his true love?” Estel asked me as he paused in mid-braid.
“I’d like to say they did. And the two of them are living together in the comforts of their newly built home hoping to raise a family together.” We both turned around and there stood Kili.
“Prince Kili!” exclaimed Estel as he raced over to the young dwarf prince. Kili smiled at my cousin and ruffled his head playfully before greeting him.
“Hello there Estel, being good for your cousin I see?”
“(Y/n) was telling me of a bead she found while out on your travels.”
“So I overheard. Hope it’s alright if I added a small opinion to your story.” He said turning to me.
“I’m always open to new suggestions. I tend to leave mine in a mist of mystery. Drives this little one nuts.”
“She never seems to want to finish the story with her trinkets and earnings.” He whined.
“One day lad you’ll see that sometimes it’s better when things are left to the imagination, instead of always having a one-sided ending.” Kili said to Estel.
“And speaking of story endings, it’s best that you get back to your studies with Lindir. He’s probably already alerted Lord Elrond of your skipping’s. And you know how Lord Elrond is that you keep up with your studies.”
“Aww! But Kili only just arrived.” Estel whined.
“Tell you what lad, you head back and finish your studies. Then once you’re done, meet me and my brother in the training grounds and we’ll teach you how we Dwarves battle off orcs and goblins.”
“Can I sister please?!” Estel begged me clasping his hands together and looking up at me with those bright blue eyes of his.
“If your mother and Lord Elrond say it’s alright.” Estel cheered before racing off and bidding us goodbye. I playfully shook my head, “I swear that child is more like a rabbit than a boy. Always full of energy and on the move.”
“Ahhh let him enjoy it. He is young, soon he’s going to grow and lose that sense of wonder and joy once he gets out into the real world.”
“You didn’t.” I teased as Kili gawked and softly laughed.
“True, but there are times where I wish I could go back to the days of my childhood. Me and Fili battling out against dragons and orcs and winning without any consequence of the outcome.” I nodded in agreement. “So what was the bead that you and your cousin were discussing the origins of?” I then showed Kili the strand that Estel had braided for me which held the dark blue bead in my hair.
“I had found it just shortly before we had a run in with those trolls. Saw it hidden just beside a small patch of rocks. Figured it was worth keeping rather than letting it be forgotten amongst Yavanna’s earth.” When I turned to Kili I saw that his eyes were widened and his jaw seemed tense. “Kili? Kili?”
“Huh? What sorry I-I was…..I have to go.” Suddenly he turned his back and hastily left the garden. My head tilted confused as to why he had left so sudden without another word? I shrugged before sitting back down to admire the bead.
*Kili’s POV*
She had my bead. (Y/n) had my family bead, not only did she have it but she was wearing it. Could-could it mean? No that’s impossible! There’s no way a Ranger of the North could fall for someone like me? But then why would she place my bead into her hair and have it braided?
“…..li? Oi Kili!” I snapped out of my daze to see Fili and Bofur standing before me in what appeared to be a den area of the Elvish realm. All over the place there were beds and wooden furniture carved to perfection.
“You looked about as lost as a lamb there lad, everything alright?” asked Bofur.
“I—well I’m beginning to question that myself.”
“What is it Kili? You’re not ill are you?”
“No Fili, well not in the normal sense of illness.”
“Ahh-hahaha I think I know.” Bofur said. “You, Kili, have fallen under the sickness of love. And I think I know just who it is that has caught your affections.” Bofur wiggled his brow towards my brother as I let out a groan.
“It’s not like that!”
“So you don’t have feelings for (Y/n)?” asked Fili. I did a double take towards my brother and said to him.
“Wait you—you knew?”
“Your my brother Kili. You may have always been a flirt back home but never before have I seen you act around a woman the way you do with (Y/n).” I felt my face heat up as I said to them.
“It’s not just that.” They both looked at me perplexed. “Remember how I had told you Fili that I had lost one of my beads that mother gave me?” my brother nodded. “It turns out (Y/n) had found it. Not only that but after just recently talking with her, I had seen that she had braided it into her hair.”
At that confession, they both began to understand the gravity of the situation.
“Surely she must not know what it means to us. I mean you see a bead and the first thought is to braid it into your hair. Surely she can’t know what it means to us, does she?” I asked nervously.
“I wouldn’t be knowing Kili, but if I am honest with yah, I think she might feel the same about you.” Bofur said.
“How would you know Bofur?” I snapped.
“You may not know it laddie, but that lass will look at you when she knows you’re not looking. And I see the same loving look in her eyes that you give to her.”
“You’re jesting Bofur. There’s no way she looks at me like that!”
“I wouldn’t be too sure brother.” Fili said. I turned to him as he continued, “Remember back with the trolls? When they were going to put you onto the spit, (Y/n) fought to take your place.”
“But wasn’t that because we’re part of the same company? She’s just looking out for us. That’s her nature. Her kind, caring, motherly nature.” I trailed off as I felt my heart skip a beat.
“All I’m saying brother is maybe you should talk to her.”
“And how should I start it off? How about saying something like, ‘Greetings (Y/n), you know the bead you’ve got in your hair in that braid? It’s actually my family bead and by braiding it into your hair you’ve agreed to be my wife. Will you marry me?’ No.” I scoffed the last part. “I can’t force that onto her.”
“I’m not saying lead on with that. But maybe just talk to her and see if there is any mutual feelings between the two of you. If there is, you’ll finally be happy with her. If not, then at least you’ll have your answer.”
“And if it is a rejection that comes my way? How do you expect me to cope with it? She’ll never look at me the same way again.”
“Even if she does reject your affections Kili, I doubt (Y/n) is the kind of person to make whatever bond she makes feel inferior to how it was before. But like your brother said laddie, you’ll never know unless you talk to her.” Bofur said.
I looked at the two of them, took a deep breath and thanked them for the advice before I left to go find (Y/n) before it grew dark.
*1ST Person POV*
I was at the training grounds with my bow and arrow hoping to get in some last minute training before I would retire for the night. I notched an arrow onto the bowstring, pulled it back, took a breath before steadying my hand and let the arrow fly. It hit dead center and I notched another arrow into the bow before releasing that and it hit the center as well as splitting the arrow.
“Ahh, when did you learn to do that?” I turned to see Kili looking between me and the target in amazement.
“When I was a little girl, when I refused to believe that a bow was just something my aunt would tie to my curly locks.” I said notching another arrow into my bow and fired it at the target splitting the other two arrows. “My uncle agreed. He said learning to fight was essential whether you wore a dress or trousers. He was the wisest man I ever knew.”
“Wish my kin were as supportive at first when I had wish to take the bow and arrow as my main weapon of choice.”
“Thing was he wasn’t just supportive. My uncle he—he was the only father figure I ever had after my own dad walked out on my mother. After she was killed by orcs, my aunt took me in. He took me aside one early morning, taught me everything I know about fighting and said to me, ‘(Y/n), my little raven. If you remember what you’re fighting for you’ll never miss your target’.” I said remember my uncle Arathorn as a good man.
He was not only a good leader to the Rangers up in the North, but he was a loving man who loved his wife. And loved a child that was not his own blood as a father should. Raised her, taught her to fight but also keep a level head. I only wish that Aragorn had the same opportunity to bond with his father as I did.
“He sounds like a good man.” Kili told me solemnly.
“Aye. He was.” I said clasping the necklace he gave me a year after being adopted into the family. It’s not much just a simple silver chain with a raven in flight pendant on it but it’s so special to me and never once have I taken it off.
“Is that why you like collecting small objects?” he asked me. I smiled solemnly and nodded.
“When I was a child and would go with him on patrols, most of the Rangers tired of how I would stop them to find a loose button or a smooth pebble perfect for skipping across the river. But never my uncle, in fact he always encouraged me to keep at it. Said that I’d never know when I might find the greatest treasure of them all.”
We sat there in a comfortable silence for a brief moment (although it felt like an eternity) until Kili finally spoke up.
“I uhh…..” he trailed off softly. “I think you might’ve missed the target.” I looked at him confused before turning to the target where my split arrows were. “No not….” He softly chuckled, “I meant with your story. The one you told your cousin about. For the bead.”
“Did I?” he softly nodded but he refused to look me directly in the eye. “Care to elaborate your theory of this bead?”
“Well it’s not much different from yours. Just some minor details changed. The bead did in fact belong to a prince. But the bead was a part of his family’s heirloom, one that would be meant for a future courting. However, while out on a quest, he had realized that he had lost it. He searched and searched but could not find the bead anywhere. The Prince was heartbroken, not only of the fact he had lost his family bead, but that one day he had hoped to give it to the woman he loves was now gone. Then a few days after the start of his quest, he soon finds the woman he loves wearing his bead into her braided hair.”
He fiddled with his hands before finally looking up at me, his eyes holding both a loving gaze but also a hint of fear and insecurity. I then watched as his eyes soon turned to look at my braid. I lifted it up and stared at the bead only for my heart to stop and my stomach sink.
Wait…..could he mean—
“You don’t have to say anything. I won’t force you plus you did not know that braiding a Dwarf’s family bead means you accept a courtship with me. I know we’ve only known each other for a few weeks now but I cannot deny my feelings any longer. (Y/n), I……” I stopped his rambling by bestowing a small kiss to his cheek.
“My heart feels the same way Kili.” His eyes widened with surprise looked at me and from his stubbled face I could see the faintest hint of a blush.
“Really?”
“Really, really.” I said with a warm smile. A bright smile soon started to show itself on his face as he took my hands into his and bestowed a sweet kiss to the back of my knuckles.
“Mahal’s beard my—my heart is pounding more harder than Aulë slamming his axe upon a mountain of stone.”
“And the very breath within me feels like it has been sucked away.” I said to him.
“Is this what finding my One feels like? If it is, I never want it to go away. Nor do I wish to see you go.”
“I may not know the concept of your One, but if it’s anything to what we call soulmates then yes. I saw it every day with my aunt and uncle before his death. They held the purest form of true love I had only ever read in story books. But never did I hope to experience such a love.”
“Best get used to it amrâlimê, because I will spend every hour of my wakened days giving all my love to you.” I knelt down beside him and cupped the side of his face, brushing away the dark strands of his hair as I felt his hand gently cup my jawline as our forehead softly touched one another’s.
Our noses slowly grazing across the other’s like wind in the grass until finally our lips became one and we gifted our devoted love for each other through each kiss and stolen baited breath.

Lady Applejack Sent Me: Eddie Munson x Black! Reader Drabble Part 2/2
Summary: As the eldest Sinclair sibling, you’ve put up with a lot happening in your cursed little town. But no one touches or threatens your siblings, your siblings friends, that now include your ex.
Takes place some time after jason’s little speech but does not follow the season four episode timeline so things may be out of order, don’t yell at me. trigger warnings: violence, hurt/comfort, jason is his own warning to be honest. minors dni
and here’s the conclusion, hope you like it!
“Are you gonna let go of me any time soon?” You asked your ex, who currently held you in a tight squeeze in the dim light of the boathouse.
“Would Aragorn let go of Arwen?”
“This is why we broke up, you play too much.” You grumbled yet tucked your head under his chin nonetheless.
“I need you to know, I didn’t do what they think I did, I would never-” Eddie breaks off, eyes anywhere but your face. Call it force of habit, you gently put your hand to his cheek. You’ve seen him sad, mad, frustrated before but not this, never like this.
“Look at me, I don’t know what happened but I do know that you, Eddie Munson, couldn’t hurt a fly. I’ve seen you try, it’s adorable and extremely annoying. I believe you, I trust you, and that’s all I need to know.”
“Why did I ever let you go, Sinclair?” Eddie asked, leaning into your touch, his face inches from yours.
“I could ask you the same question.” You scoff and the embrace comes to an end with the sound of a familiar though staticy voice.
“Dustin to Eddie, do you copy?”
Eddie reached behind you and grabbed the walkie talkie with an awkward cough. Maybe this wasn’t the best idea, you should be out there looking for Lucas, keeping them both safe.
“I’m here Henderson, scared shitless but laying low as instructed. I’ve even got a special guest with me. Anything you want to say to the listeners at home, Princess?” He asked, the corners of his mouth curling into a small smile. You rolled your eyes and took the walkie from him.
“Dustin, it’s me. Please tell me Lucas is with you?”
There’s an audible commotion which relieves you as you can all but picture Dustin passing the walkie to your brother.
“Where are you with Eddie? Did you tell Mom and Dad I’m out? Are you getting back together with Eddie? This isn’t the time to be playing tonsil hockey!”
You slap a hand over Eddie’s mouth before he can respond.
“What happened to hello, how are you, or how about thank you for coming out after curfew to see if I’m still alive? I’m going into debt at the Bank of Erica because of you, you’re lucky I don’t drag your ass back home and let mom and dad deal with you.” You huffed, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Are you all safe where you are or do you need me to come get you?”
“We’re okay but Jason’s somewhere out there, looking for all of us. ”
“Yeah, you’re not gonna have to worry about Jason, at least for a little while. So if you guys just sit tight, we can all figure something out together.”
You realize there’s an unusual amount of silence next to you and you look up from the walkie to see him staring at you as if seeing you for the first time, concern and unrecognizable fury clouding his features. He gently takes the walkie out of your hands, ignoring your cries of annoyance.
“Sinclair, we’re gonna have to call you back, I need some alone time with your sister.”
“Ew, gross man.”
Eddie doesn’t wait for a response before throwing the walkie to the side and yanking on the overhead light.
“What the hell Eddie?! Someone could see that, turn it off!” You whisper but he does nothing of the sort as you both take in your ripped clothes, swollen ankle, and various cuts and bruises now littering your body in full exposed light.
“I’m going to fucking kill him.” He growled, fists clenched at his sides, pacing the length of the room
“You’ll do no such thing.”
“How did this even happen?”
“ He threatened them; you, Lucas, Erica, an actual child. I was trying to find you but I found him first. I asked him to leave you alone, one thing led to another, I slashed his tires and that’s when the party really got started.” You gave a grave chuckle that was not reciprocated.
“ You could have gotten yourself killed!”
“ I can handle my business Eddie, I got him away from here, from my family, and that’s all there is to it.”
“ You kicked his ass for me, Princess?”
“I know you like I know myself Eddie and nothing Jason and his disciples do will ever change that. So yeah, I did it, and I’d do it again.” You said and cracked a pained smile.
It’s his turn to take your face in his hands, his thumb gently rubbing away the dried blood and grime at the corner of your lip.
You shouldn’t be doing this but why does it feel like you're exactly where you’re supposed to be?
“Let me take care of you. Come on princess, please let me look after you.”
“ Eddie, the reason I’m here is to look after you. I’m fine, it’s not as bad as it looks.” You say quickly but he kneels in front of you, hands on your knees.
“ You haven’t changed one bit, Sinclair. You take care of everybody, Lucas, Lady Applejack, fuck you’re taking care of me and we’re not even together. You saved my ass without asking for shit in return so please, you’re hurt, let me put you first and take care of you for once.”
That’s all it took for you to put your forehead to his, wrap your arms around his neck, and legs around waist.
“ There’s my baby, I got you.” He soothes, gently lifting you up off the floor and into the makeshift bedroom. You watched him with content as he bustled around the boathouse retrieving a half empty first aid kit and a dish towel that appeared to be clean to the naked eye but you weren’t up to figuring out if the exact opposite was the case.
“ Tell me where it hurts and I’ll be gentle. “
You settle into comfortable sleepy silence, your fingers entwined in his hair as he meticulously cleans your cuts and wraps your ankle.
“Looks like someone paid attention in health class this year.” You quipped with a yawn.
“Well I wanted to graduate so I decided to give a shit. Not that it matters now since I’m a wanted man.” He said, gently lifting your ankle onto a pillow.
“We’ll get this fixed Eddie, I’m not the only one who knows you didn’t do anything wrong and we’ll get your name cleared, I promise. You deserve to graduate and I’ll be there front and center.”
Eddie stops cleaning up, eyes filled with tears.
“ You asked me earlier why I let you go.”
“Yeah.”
“ It’s because I was scared. I saw you walk across that stage, diploma in hand with all your awards, you smiling with your parents, and I couldn’t bear to be another wrecking ball on someone’s life. You were my joy Sinclair, every last bit of it, but I couldn’t make you wait for me, anybody but me.”
Your heart sinks and you sit straight up.
“Eddie, college is great, my jobs help me get by, but this entire time I’ve been so lonely it scares me. You have my brother, now my sister, but you let me go. I’ve been wracking my brain for months to try to figure out what I did wrong, tried dating other people but none of them felt right. I’ve got nowhere else to put my love except with you, Eddie. I don’t care about Hawkins so if you want me, really truly want me, I’m right here. Don’t run away from me, not again.” You finished with a choked sob, aware this was certainly not the best time for this conversation but it had been long overdue.
Without a word, he carefully lifted you onto his lap, your back flush against his chest, arms tight around you as he rocked you softly back and forth.
“If I get out of this, I swear I’ll never run away again, I promise. I won’t lose you again, not a chance in hell, not my baby.” He kissed the top of your head twice over before you reached up and brought his lips to yours.
“ I love you Eddie, more than you’ll ever know.” You said, eyes no longer fighting to stay open as he pulled a blanket over both of you.
“I love you too, princess. I’ll be right here when you wake up. ”
You let sleep take you, your love finally safe with the man with a sweet smile and a good heart.
You’re nearly asleep when a staticky voice comes through the walkie.
“ You two do realize you never turned your walkie off right?”
“Henderson!”

Between Bookshelves-4
Erestor x F!Reader
Chapters: (Prologue) (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) (9)
Support me with Ko-Fi
Summary: Many years ago, Erestor made you, the adopted daughter of Lord Elrond and Lady Celebrían, his apprentice. It’s unfortunate that you’ve fallen in love with an ellon so dedicated to your father and who probably still thinks of you as a child. It’s even more unfortunate that you haven’t realized his glances.
NOTE: 18+ Only, I added a little bit of spice. You already know I have no self-control so what started as a one-shot, turned into this.
Chapter 4: Burning for You
Elvish: Penneth-Young one Tithen pen-Little one Melda-Beloved Vanimelda-the highest praise of beauty
It was not rare that her father would summon his children, but it was unusual for Elrond to do it outside of mealtimes. Y/N was worried what news he would give them. Things seemed to be going well in the world lately according to her brothers and the patrol that had been traveling. Her grandmother had also not sent foreboding news in a long time. Had everything changed so suddenly, or was this just a normal family gathering?
Y/N, though anxious to hear from her father, was currently looking for her sister whom she had been tasked with finding. Usually, if Arwen was not in her room, she was in the gardens or the stables, but Y/N had found no trace of her sister. The only other place she could think of was the waterfall in the western part of the city, but she would need to hurry. Lindir had fetched her long ago and it would not do to be late.
She hurried toward the sound of rushing water eager to find her sister and return, but as she turned the corner of the tiled walkway, she came upon a scene she wished she had not. Aragorn’s large hands cupped her sister’s redden cheeks as they embraced in a deep kiss. So it was true then. Her sister had fallen in love with the ranger-the mortal ranger. Y/N felt a deep ache in her heart as she retreated behind one of the pillars so as not to be seen.
Everyone in her father’s line, with the exception of herself, had the choice of mortality and Y/N did not even need to ask Arwen of her choice. She knew in her heart what her sister had already decided and while she wished she could be happy for her, she found she could not. It was nothing against Aragorn, for she had nothing but love for him in her own heart, but she had already lost two mothers and a father, she did not wish to lose anymore family. The elleth thought of her father Elrond then and her heart ached once more. What would he think; the father that had already lost so many? No, Y/N could not bear the thought of how her foster father would take this news. Hundreds of years had not eased the pain of losing his wife. There would be no amount of time to ease the loss of a daughter. And what of their mother who would never see her eldest daughter again?
Bile rose in her throat and she ran from the waterfall’s atrium, the image of Aragorn and Arwen’s tender embrace burned in her mind. She should be happy-love was a beautiful thing after all-but the pain was still too much for her. At least for now, she could not feel peace.
She all but ran to her father’s study, her mind only somewhat aware of what he was discussing with her and her brothers. When she had arrived, he asked about Arwen, but she had lied and said she could not find her. There was no way Y/N could confess what she had seen to her father and she hoped her dismay was not visible on her face. She had no desire to break his heart like that.
———
Erestor peered over at Y/N as she worked away at her desk. She looked shaken, but he could not imagine why. Her father had news, but it had not been the troubling kind. They were to have visitors within the month and that was a usual occurrence. He wondered why she had not been her usual self all day. It was well past evening meal, but she did not seem to have noticed. Rising from his seat, Erestor made his way over to her, laying a gentle hand on her shoulder. Y/N’s head shot up and she blinked a few times before acknowledging him.
“Yes, Master Erestor?”
“It is late,” he said gesturing to the darkened sky outside the window.
“Oh,” is all she uttered.
Y/N did not know what else to say. Her mind was buzzing, and yet her thoughts were empty. She had used her work to focus, but she could not find any peace. All she wanted to do was cry, but she thought even that would not be enough. It was not just Arwen’s fate that upset her, it was her own misplaced jealousy. Y/N knew it was wrong to feel that way about Arwen, but she could not control herself. Her sister was signing a death sentence for love and Y/N could not even confess her own. How brave her sister was; brave, but selfish. She grimaced to herself at her own thoughts momentarily forgetting Erestor was still beside her.
“You have not been yourself today,” he pried. “What plagues your mind?”
Instead of answering right away, Y/N rose and made her way to the window. The sun had set long before, but the stars had not made an appearance quite yet. It was blissfully dark.
“I saw something I should not have,” she answered. “And while I should be joyful, at the same time I am dreading what will come.”
“Is this why Arwen was not with you this morning?”
His question surprised her, but she nodded in answer.
“You are always so perceptive,” she complained. “Must you always know what is going on in my head?”
Talking to him was a good distraction. He always made her feel better and she knew she could trust him.
“You are easy to read,” he chuckled coming to stand beside her. “I can practically see into that pretty, little head of yours.”
The comment slipped out and he nearly bit his tongue off for uttering it. Her blush rose quickly, dusting her cheeks in soft pink. She stared at him wide eyed and lips parted as if she could not believe what he had just said.
“Have you ever been in love, Master Erestor?”
Now it was he who was taken by surprise. He had already said too much had he not? Then why did he wish to continue this little back-and-forth they had? Was it because he was smitten? He hummed to himself, taking a step closer to her by the window, facing out into the dimness of the evening light.
“Only once,” he stated. “But it was not meant to be.”
Her heart broke at his statement. She knew he could not love her, but it was worse knowing someone already had his heart and wasted their opportunity. She would give anything for him to love her. Biting her lip she nodded, holding back the tears she prayed would not fall.
“What of your heart?” He broke the silence. “Does it belong to another? Is that what has you so upset?”
Gathering all the strength she had, she mumbled her answer, voice only wavering slightly.
“I too have loved only once.”
He nodded solemnly. “You saw him with another, didn’t you?”
The elleth shook her head.
“I saw Arwen with Aragorn. She will choose a mortal life, I am sure of it, and not one of us can stop her,” she admitted.
Erestor was not surprised by her words. Elrond had come to him once already stating his worry and while he wanted to intervene, their father knew it was ultimately Arwen’s choice. He had come up with many ways to keep her and young Aragorn apart, but they had found their way back to one another. They always would. Erestor understood, but he knew the pain his Y/N must be in.
“I am sorry,” he said as he tucked her into his chest in a hug. “It must be difficult to accept what she has chosen.”
“It is,” she murmured into his shoulder, her hands clinging to his robes. “But it is also more than that.”
“Hm?”
“She has given everything for love and I cannot even find it in myself to tell the one I love the truth. How can she be so brave and I so foolish?”
“You are far from foolish?” He chided as he let her go. “Why do you hide your affection?”
“He loves me,” she explained. “But not in the way I want to be loved by him. He thinks of me as if I were a little elfling and nothing more. It would be foolish of me to pursue him when all that awaits me is heartbreak and I do not think I can handle much more right now.”
Y/N turned from him and made her way back to her desk. She grabbed her stack of books and began putting them away in their designated spaces on the shelf.
He watched her go, saddened greatly by her admission. Who would not love her? How could anyone choose someone other than her? He had given up on his own pursuit so that she could be happy and whoever she had fallen for had wasted his sacrifice. It enraged him. Y/N deserved the world and if he could, he would gladly pull the stars from the sky if she asked. He would never stop loving her, even if it was from afar, but now that did not seem like enough. He wanted her to know she was loved; that he loved her more than anything.
He looked to her once more, watching as she reached to place the last book back on the shelf, her shorter stature preventing her from easily doing so. Normally he would help when he would see her struggle, but today as he stood by the window, he simply watched with hungry eyes. Her body tensed as she stretched to push the book into place, back arching deliciously. Erestor did not even realize he had closed the distance between them until his hands had gripped her lithe waist.
Startled, she jumped, the smallest gasp escaping her as she turned around to face him. He, too, was surprised and felt his own eyes staring blankly as he looked down at her. He had no words to explain himself. It seemed he had lost all thought for he could not even manage to pry his hands off of her. Y/N looked up at him with widened eyes, but did not move away. Eventually, her body relaxed and she let herself step back to lean on the shelf behind her. Now she understood, and though she was still saddened, her heart began nervously thumping in her chest. Erestor followed instinctively, inching as close as possible to her until only a hair’s breadth was between their bodies.
Y/N finally mustered the courage to speak, her hands moving to cover his own on her waist. Her pulse was racing as she touched him. She had done so many a time, but this was different. It was such intimate touch. She felt his flesh and wondered if his hands had always been so much larger than hers.
“Master Erestor,” she breathed. “Tell me what it is that you desire?”
The ellon knew this was wrong, but he could not find it within himself to stop. No longer could he deny what he truly wished for, though he had fought the urges tooth and nail. He chose his words carefully.
“Something I should not want.”
There it was-an out if she chose to end this. Y/N would do no such thing. She never dreamed he would suddenly be so bold with her. Her master had always been so proper, Y/N envisioned that he would be the same when it came to romantics. But then again, she felt this might be lust rather than love. Though she knew how she felt in her heart, she would gladly take anything he would give.
“And if you could have it without consequence? What would you do?” Y/N asked his as she continued stroking his skin.
A sigh left his lips before he spoke again.
“If I lacked better judgment, I would take you against these shelves this very moment.” He let his hands splay across her abdomen, fingers grazing her ribs and thumbs hovering beneath her breasts. Mortal blood had stunted her, making her so much smaller than the average elleth, but he found her shorter stature endearing. He quite liked towering over her like this.
The elleth’s eyes widened once more as she let him explore. She chose to match his boldness.
“Is it fear of rejection that holds you from your course?”
He kissed his teeth, finally grounding himself as he pondered an answer. Erestor took a step back, relinquishing his hold on her, though he was amused by the look of disappointment that flashed on her face.
“You are too young, and I, too debauched to properly court you,” he admitted gruffly. “But I have certainty that if I have you then I will want no other. My depravity knows no bounds when it comes to you.”
It was the truth. She was his lord’s youngest; a mere child in terms of age, at least compared to himself. She had only reached her majority decades before, but he could not deny the attraction. She was of age, but he was far too old and bitter. It would be too improper, and yet, he found himself in utter agony at the thought of losing her to anyone. She had opened the door, and he would not waste the opportunity any longer.
The admittance took her by surprise. She had not expected him to feel for her the way she felt for him.
“You would wed me?” She questioned, her voice betraying her surprise.
“Ai, I would. But your father-.“
“Ada is not here, nor does he have say in who I love,” she interrupted curtly. She felt hypocritical then, judging her sister’s choice when she just told Erestor her father had no say. Maybe one day she could understand, but at this moment all that ran through her mind was Erestor, his touch, and his perfect lips.
“All this time-.” Her voice nearly cracked. “I thought I could not have you and now that I can, I will not let you go!”
Y/N had stepped forward now, taking back his hands and moving so that he could not escape her. She looked up into his beautiful eyes, wanting badly to pull him into a deep kiss, but stopped short. Her hands moved to cup his face, thumbs stroking his sharp cheekbones, elated that he did not stop her. He looked so handsome. She felt like she was dreaming.
“How long?” He asked and she understood immediately. How long had it been since she began longing for Erestor’s touch? How long had those debauched dreams been plaguing her night after night?
“You were my tutor once, Master Erestor. In my later years, I often thought of you properly punishing me when I shirked my studies,” she said coyly, baiting him into action.
The response was immediate. Erestor pushed her until her back hit the shelves once more, strong hands that once wielded a broadsword holding her in place. His eyes narrowed as he stared her down, a hand lifting her chin to look up at him, forcing her neck taut.
“Melda, you do not know what you do to me.”
“Oh I think I do,” she reached down and boldly cupped him through the leggings beneath his robes. “Would you like me to take care of it?”
It seemed he’d lost all sense of himself. Y/N always knew Erestor to be stern with a severe personality, but now he was practically growling, the strength of a warrior behind every movement. How had she forgotten he was once her father’s herald? Their time together in the study had muddled her memory it seemed.
He pushed her to her knees almost harshly, but it did not deter her from reaching for the ties of his leggings and freeing him, loving the groan that left his sharp mouth. His fingers gripped her chin, thumb tugging at her bottom lip. He possessively stroked the flesh there, his eyes darkening as she settled onto her knees.
“Would you prefer Master or my Lord?” Y/N teased as she ran her hands along his length.
“I would prefer you put that mouth to good use, tithen pen.”
“As you wish, Master Erestor.”
Licking a broad stripe, the elleth savored his taste before slightly struggling to take all of him at once into her mouth. Erestor gripped onto the shelf harshly, not expecting her to move so eagerly. Had she had practice? Jealously flared, but he quickly quieted the emotion. Y/N had always seemed so innocent, but that was quickly proving to be untrue. He let out a groan as she moved again, one hand falling to her hair and pulling almost too roughly. His eyes fell to her as she continued and he had to bite back another moan at the utterly sinful sight of his lord’s daughter on her knees before him.
The visage was better than anything he could have dreamed up. While he knew he should be more delicate with her, he thought she had never looked more beautiful than she did right now; teary eyed and starving for him.
The hand not tangled in her hair moved to wipe a stray tear from her face before he held her steady and thrust forward. Y/N closed her eyes as he moved, trying her hardest to relax. She had no intention of their relations ending so soon.
“So sweet,” he cooed, a smirk curling onto his face. “You’re always so sweet, Y/N.”
The praise sent shivers down her spine and she longed to reach beneath her dress. Mentally, she chastised herself knowing how Erestor worked. He had not given her permission to pleasure herself and she did not wish to incur further punishment. His brutal assault of her throat was already making her lightheaded and desperate, she did not need him to test her patience any further. Her hands gripped his thighs to slow him, nails digging into the dark brown material.
“Too much for you, tithen pen?”
Though he teased her, he slowed his pace and softened his touch. Fingers that had pulled her hair were now stroking her scalp gently, the motion soothing her. He continued his slower pace, chasing his end while prolonging his pleasure. After a time he pulled away from the warmth of her mouth, the elleth following with a whine until a hand in her hair tugged her back.
“Open your mouth,” he commanded softly. She complied immediately, trained over the years to do as he asked without complaint.
He held her head steady as he stroked himself to completion. What she caught in her mouth she eagerly swallowed, though the taste was not very pleasant. Erestor looked upon the elleth at his feet, face reddened and stained, and felt himself harden once more at the sight.
“Vanimelda,” he murmured mostly to himself, but she heard him and gave him a smirk of her own.
“Does my work please you, Master?”
“Careful, penneth,” he warned gripping her chin once more. “You do not want to test me. Long have I wanted you. My restraint is running thin.”
“Then take me,” she implored. “For I too have long wanted you.”
He made a sound akin to a growl, before helping her to her feet. She wiped her face with her sleeve knowing his seed would stain and not caring.
“Do not tempt me. I will wed you yet, but not today.” He would need to collect himself first. Never one to be spontaneous, Erestor was surprised by his own actions, but did not regret them. He had loved Y/N for many years now and he felt for her so strongly, having never fallen for any other in his countless years.
“I would like to return the favor, if you would be so kind,” he said once he shook the thoughts from his head.
“I am so kind,” she teased with a grin as she pulled him into the kiss she had been dreaming of for so long. His hands held her firmly as his tongue slipped through the seam of her mouth, tasting salt on her own. She pulled away, still holding onto him, adoration shining like starlight in her eyes.
“Melda, my little darling,” he purred in her ear. “Bend yourself over that desk.”
His voice, even this soft, was commanding and she was far too eager to oblige. He pointed at the desk in the far corner for her to go to and when she saw it, Y/N gasped in shock and sweet anticipation.
“That is Ada’s desk, Master Erestor.”
“Indeed it is,” he shrugged. “Now go. I am not yet finished with you. I still have not had a taste.”

Hope {Aragorn x Reader}
A.N: So no prompts done today cause I was working on this, but I’m proud of it and will get right on prompts tomorrow! This is the completely reader-insert version! I honestly had so much fun writing it and am honored that this person wanted me to do so. I hope y’all like it!
Requested by @ask-the-elf-stuff on Tumblr
Pairing: Aragorn x Reader
Word Count: 1,799
Warnings: Kissing, fluff, the smallest bit of angst.
****
Hope
“You’re really leaving?” You gazed into Aragorn’s eyes, hoping that it wasn’t true.
“I have to, Y/N. The fate of Middle-Earth depends on it.”
Your head dipped in understanding, but also sadness.
“Do not fear. I will return.” He cupped your chin with his hand, tilting your head and kissing you. It was a light kiss, nothing like the others you had shared before. This kiss was the hope that you’d see each other again.
Breaking away, you forced a smile as you hugged him, trying not to cry. Stepping back, you waved as he followed the rest of the newly formed Fellowship through the gates of Imladris. Your father stood next to you, and as Aragorn passed through the gates Elrond drew you into his side.
“He’ll be back, hína (child),” Elrond said as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
Nodding, you rested your head on your father’s shoulder as you watched the man depart.
Weeks later, you were pacing your room, determined to do something. Arwen stopped short in the doorway as she saw you pack open on your bed as you shoved things inside.
“Y/N? What are you doing?”
“I do not know why, but I have felt a pull to follow. An ache, almost painful in its strength, has settled inside me and so I knew I must follow. We have not heard from the Fellowship in weeks, Aragorn could be hurt, or someone else could be, or he could be,” your voice broke, “dead.
The elf nodded in understanding. “The ache is telling you to be with the one you love.”
She then clasped your hand. “Y/N. Look at me.”
You looked at her, unshed tears of worry clear in your eyes.
“If he was dead, you’d feel it. And I know as your sister I should be telling you not to go, but I cannot help but notice the pain you’ve been in these last weeks. So go, find him.” She spread a map out onto a small table nearby, and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“Do you just carry that everywhere?”
She shot you a look, and you quickly clammed up, peering over her shoulder as she pointed things out.
“After crossing the mountains visit our grandmother in Lothlorien, the Fellowship had planned to pass through there, and she will know where they are.”
You took it all in, remembering the route to Lothlorien from visits to your grandparents you had made before your mother went west.
“Thank you, Arwen.” You smiled up at your sister.
She clasped your wrist before pulling away, placing her hands on your shoulders as she looked into your eyes. “Stay safe, Y/N.”
You nodded, shoving the last things into your pack before slinging it over your shoulders with your bow and quiver, daggers sheathed on your thighs, hugging your sister one last time before leaving your room.
You strode down the hallway, dressed in leather hunting clothes as you made your way to the gates of Imladris. You had stopped by the kitchens to gather food supplies, making sure they thought you were only going for a hunting excursion.
Entering the courtyard, you saw your father standing in the center, clearly waiting for you. Silently cursing Arwen, as you had hoped to slip away unnoticed, you made your way over to him.
“I should not let you do this.”
You frowned at his words, drawing breath to protest, but before you could Elrond spoke again.
“But you are free to go. I feel the ache and have felt it every day since your mother departed. I know that nothing but being with the one you love can ease that pain, and it would hurt me to know you are experiencing it. Go to Estel. I give you my blessing.”
You hugged your father before turning and mounting your horse, brought from the stables. Turning to wave to your father one last time, you leaned down to whisper, “Let’s go, Daeroc. Let’s go find Aragorn.” The horse broke into a trot, and you left Imladris behind.
Weeks later, you led Daeroc into Lothlorien, waiting for the sentries to appear. One dropped down from a tree, and you smiled at him, recognizing the face.
“Haldir,” you greeted him with a smile.
“Y/N. It is good to see you again. I assume you are here to see the Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn?”
You nodded, “Yes. I have not seen my grandparents in a long time. But before we go to them could you find someone to take care of Daeroc?”
Another elf came into view, nodding to you as she took the reins from your hands.
“Thank you,” you smiled at her.
Later, you walked into the courtyard, bowing to your grandparents standing on the stairs above.
“Y/N, my daughter’s daughter. What brings you here?” Galadriel smiled at you, descending the stairs with her husband to greet you, each clasping your wrist.
“To see you, of course, and seek news of the Fellowship that I assume has passed through here.”
Your grandmother smiled. “It seems you are in luck, for they are here as we speak.”
Your eyes widened. “But they should have been long gone by now. I wonder what has caused the delay?”
Celeborn’s face softened. “Then you do not know.”
“Know what?” You were beginning to grow quite worried. “What has happened?”
“They could not make it through the pass of Caradhras, so they turned and went through Moria, costing them the life of Mithrandir.”
You gasped, heart aching at the grief that must have caused them and the grief you now felt.
“May I see them?” All you wanted now was to see your friends and the man you loved.
“Of course.” Galadriel beckoned you to follow her, and you did, softly conversing with your grandmother and updating her on the lives of her family in Imladris, as well as others she knew.
Stepping into the clearing, you turned to thank Galadriel, watching her fade from view behind you for a moment before continuing.
There he was. Tall and handsome still, even grimy with dirt and dust from his travels. You debated casually walking up and greeting him more sedately, but watching him you just couldn’t hold back. All your elvish instincts left you, and you sprinted towards him, leaping into his shocked arms as kissing him for all you were worth. He kissed you back for a moment, and then pulled away, the surprise on his face clear.
“Y/N! What are you doing here?”
“I came to find you.”
His eyes widened. “You did?”
You smiled at him. “Of course I did, meleth.”
He smiled back at you, and drew you in for another kiss, hands holding you up as your legs wrapped around his waist. Deepening the kiss, he moved so your back was pressed against a tree and his hands were free to slide up your back, tangling in your hair as you lost yourselves in each other.
Sometime later, you sat with the rest of the Fellowship after the nighttime meal, talking. It was good to see them again, you had grown fond of all of them, even the dwarf, during their time in Imladris. But of course, the only person you really had eyes for that night was Aragorn, who sat next to you with an arm around your shoulders.
Legolas had seemed puzzled with how comfortable you were with affection, it was rather un elf-like. You had explained to him that because of your father’s past, he was slightly more affectionate than a normal elf, and showed it. You hadn’t missed the wistful look on Legolas’ face as you spoke and recalled what you knew of his family, feeling sorry for him.
Later that night, you sat by the dying embers of the fire alongside Legolas. Aragorn had gone with the hobbits to wash up, and Boromir and Gimli were sleeping, so it was just you and the elf.
“Legolas?” The older elf looked at you.
“Can I ask you something?”
He nodded, and you continued, “I was just wondering, do you know of something like an ache? It began right after the Fellowship departed Imladris, and only subsided when I arrived here. What does it mean?”
He smiled. “Y/N. That was the bond between your soul and Aragorn’s, pulled taught with your fear of losing him. Now that you are reunited, it has gone because you are together. It is every elf’s greatest dream and worst fear to have that feeling.”
You smiled. “Have you?”
The pain in his eyes told you that maybe that was not something to be asked of others.
“I am not sure if it is in my destiny to ever feel that.” He gazed into the distance.
The two of you sat in easy silence for a long time, after that.
“Y/N.” You turned to see Aragorn beckoning to you, and with a nod to Legolas, you rose.
“You do not have to come with us. It will be a journey of great peril, and I do not want to put you in that much danger.”
You gazed at him earnestly, “Aragorn. I shall be there when the crown is finally placed on your head. I shall be with you until the end.”
He smiled at you again and clasped your hand as you walked through the towering trees.
You had left Lothlorien the day after with the Fellowship, having officially joined up. Lots had happened after that, including almost dying with most of Middle-Earth, but months later, all was finally well. Frodo and Sam had destroyed the ring in Mordor, the forces of Mordor had collapsed along with the Black Gate, and today was the coronation of King Elessar, also known as Aragorn.
You watched, standing next to Gimli on the dais, as Gandalf lowered the crown onto Aragorn’s head.
“Now come the days of the King!” Gandalf declared before Aragorn turned to face his kingdom. Everyone cheered as he stood there, silencing quickly as he spoke. His words were wise and sincere, and you couldn’t help but fall in love all over again. As petals began to fall, he started singing, the words quickly fading as he turned to you.
You walked down to meet him at the bottom of the steps, gown trailing behind you. Once you reached him, he grabbed your hand, wrapping an arm around your waist as he dipped you into a spectacular kiss. Unlike the one you had shared in Imladris, this was not a kiss of sadness. This was a kiss of hope, peace, and promise. As the cheers rose around you again you knew that everything you had hoped for had come true.

Fellowship HCs (1/?)
How the fellowship reacts to the reader being touch starved and being too scared to return any affection (platonic or not). She/Her pronouns. Thank you😳☺.
hello anon! sure thing! i’m just gonna group some of them because i am tired-
Type: Headcanons! First ones! Pairings: Platonic!Fellowship x reader Summary: a brief set of headcanons for the fellowship reacting to a touch-starved tenth-member Warnings: swearing Word Count: nOt bOtHeReD bUt iT’s sEvErAl dOt pOiNtS pEr pErSoN
ARAGORN
okay let’s be real here our boy is not an expert on physical affection
but he’d always be nice to Y/N
“would you like some more deer, Y/N?”
he’d tell her stories about his time in Rivendell to make her more at ease around him, and he would smile so widely when she laughed
fully aware that his sketchy hunter nature used to freak her out but he’s really glad that she doesn’t feel the need to sit on the other side of the fire anymore
patient enough to let her come to him when she’s ready
Y/N was absolutely terrified by the fact that he always has his sword next to him, but one day when she was super tired and Aragorn had let the Hobbits look at his sword she sat next to him and rested her head on his shoulder
Aragorn was s h o o k that she’d approached him, and he just kinda awkwardly put his arm around her
Y/N flinched, but she settled into it, and to this day they act like brother and sister
LEGOLAS
Legolas, a.k.a the least socially intelligent elf on the planet
but he always means well, and Y/N never faults him for that
very concerned when the first time he extended his hand to help her into a boat she flinched back and avoided his eyes for the rest of the day
he doesn’t really know what to do, so he basically tries what he does with spooked animals, which is ... singing
he’d be singing this beautiful song about Mirkwood in Autumn, and he would hold out some lembas to Y/N until she took it and asked what he was singing
he said he could teach her, and she was completely unused to his kindness, so she just spent the evening blushing and staring at the stars
she didn’t notice when he gently out his hand on her arm (she was searching for constellations), and when he made a sound she absolutely freaked and fell over
“Legolas you fucking scared me!”
he apologised immediately, giving her his hand for the second time
this time, she takes it and lets him help her up, and she smiled
Legolas was grinning like a pointy-eared idiot for hours
BOROMIR
look, Boromir is nice when he wants to be
so, of course, when he sees this girl who’s distancing herself from everyone else in the fellowship, he’s not about to let anyone befriend her first
he’s loud enough to make up for both of them, and he invites her to watch him teach the Hobbits basic swordsmanship
Y/N goes (reluctantly) because it’s be rude to say no and she doesn’t mind this first friend
she’s laughing like an idiot when he gets tackled to the ground, and she can’t help but make fun of him when he emerges from BurialByHobbits™️
“Master swordsman, huh?”
Boromir will just laugh and tell her to shut up, giving her a friendly slap on the arm
Y/N’s not afraid of the slap, nor does it hurt, but she doesn’t want to slap him back in case he gets mad
he notices how she looks really uncomfortable, and he’s not having his bestie Y/N be upset
“Hey, you enjoy watching me suffer?”
this time, Y/N laughs even louder, and she finally squeezes his arm
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
GANDALF
ah, yes, the ‘wisest of them all’
of course Gandalf was the one to see this young woman and be like
“Ah, yes, another child for the Fellowship”
not that Y/N minds - it’s good to have a benevolent wizard father figure
he makes sure she’s comfortable around all the guys
Y/N likes to sit in silence next to the old wizard best, just looking up at the sky
he’ll tell her stories of the days before Middle-Earth, and she’ll ask questions all the time
but after a few days Y/N finds it so easy to return familial affection of a sort to her QuestFather™️
probably sings “YOU ARE MY DAAAD ... you’re my dad! oogie woogie boogie!” all the time (if y’all don’t get it istg)
GIMLI
Y/N initially found Gimli really abrasive, with his snarky comments and general Dwarvishness
it definitely took her a little while to warm up, and she never wanted to return his little sarcastic comments with some of her own, because she didn’t want to offend him
plus, she didn’t even know that he meant them as his was of showing affection, and she felt a little hurt
but after most of the battles, no matter how small, Gimli would go
“Great job, Y/N. tEaCh mE yOur bAtTlE sEcReTs!”
and of course Y/N would laugh, and it would be her roundabout way of showing affection
but then one day she just gathered up the courage to hug Gimli, and she had to pick him up to do it
cue everyone else being all *gASP* SHE DID NOT PICK UP THE DWARF
but Gimli took it as a reward for all his efforts trying to befriend the obviously kindness-starved girl
now Y/N is the ONLY one allowed to pick up Gimli
THE HOBBITS
Hobbits are very touchy-feely creatures, but they also have great respect for another person’s comfort (they do so love comfort)
so, of course, they hug Y/N as often as possible, but they try to make sure she’s also comfortable with how much they engage with her
she’s basically one of them now
they have these sweet running jokes like:
Pippin: “Hold up. We haven’t had second breakfast!” Y/N: *gasps* “What if they don’t have second breakfast? What’ll we do?!”
honestly, it’s the four Hobbits + Y/N and they’re a family now. end of.
she definitely warms up to them really quickly, and soon they make her feel happy and like she belongs, and she’s no longer touch starved.
That’s it! i’m sorry anon, i must confess this was a rush job.
i’m sorry for making you wait so long - as you can see i had a LOT of requests!
bUt tHaT dOeSn’T bOtHeR mE bEcAuSe i lOvE aLl yOuR rEqUeSts, dEaR rEaDeRs. PLEASE KEEP REQUESTING!

What about Aragorn x witch reader? The night of Helms Deep battle she helps Aragorn put on his armor and get ready and she tells Aragorn she will keep him safe and assure him that they will survive? Aragorn was everyone's emotional support that night the man needs someone to do the same for him🥺
This request is so cool! Let’s do this!
You were a bit of an odd case amongst the court of Théoden. The man had been ill, years prior to everything that was going on now. You had saved his life with an unconventional remedy and the man started asking you for more assistance. Or at least this was the story everyone was told. Your days amongst his court were typically very pleasant though. This however was one of the worst days of your life. The man that you had spent multiple years helping had betrayed you and stuck you in the dungeons.
You paced when you were bored and when your legs were too tired you sat. Éowyn was the only thing keeping you alive, you being too frail now to even function. Fucking Grima allowed Saruman to seep into Théoden’s mind, poisoning his boy and soul.
You laid on the floor, clinging to the only crack of sunlight you could find, unaware that Gandalf was there now with the future heroes of Middle Earth. You coughed, sick from the lack of basic human needs and struggling to remain alive. In one last poor attempt to fight you said “help”. You weren’t expecting an answer.
Gandalf turned, looking around. “Is there something wrong Gandalf?” Legolas asked. “Do you have a wizard in your court?” Gandalf asked Théoden who was now well and alive. Théoden’s eyes widened and Éowyn took off in the direction of the dungeons. The group all followed her, finding you barely breathing. “My gods.” Théoden gaped at the sight of you chained to the wall, eyes tired, skin pale. “Get this woman some water!” Gandalf demanded. A guard ran over with a pitcher of water. “It’s Grima he let--” “We know...” “Saruman has betrayed us all” “We know.” Éowyn soothed, you leaning against her. “I’m so sorry Lady Y/n.” Théoden said. “I should apologize to you my king... I let you fall into the hands of Grima, I should have been more vigilant.” You muttered. Aragorn looked in your eyes, you meeting his gaze. You seemed exhausted just by the mere act of standing.
“Sir Aragorn can you take her to the-” Aragorn needed no further instruction, lifting you up. He walked to the healers, you still in his arms. “I’ve seen you before.” you muttered, groggily. “I do not recall when we have met.” Aragorn said. “It was not a meeting... It was a vision.” You muttered. Aragorn tensed. “You are Isildurs-” “No. You’re mistaken, my lady.” He halted.
Hours passed before you joined everyone in the main hall again. “Lady Y/n, it is good to see you recovered.” Théoden said as you walked. Aragorn was shocked at the sight of you. No longer were you frail, no longer were you pale and close to death, you were beautiful. Your hair was pulled back but you were a dress similar to Éowyn but it was blue, reminding Aragorn of Arwen. You stood up straight, bowing to the king. “Now for a proper introduction. This is Lady Y/n L/n of Rohan. She is our court mage.” Theoden introduced. “I do not deserve such a warm welcome your majesty.” you said softly. “Nonsense. She’s more of a daughter to me than an assistant.” Théoden said. “You speak more kindly than I deserve.” You muttered. “Y/n, where is this coming from?” Eowyn asked. “I should’ve done more than what I did to keep Grima away from the both of you.” you muttered. Aragorn noticed your eyes, sad as they looked forward. “My dear girl, an army couldn’t have swayed my way once Saruman took control.” He said.
You still seemed remorseful, looking down. “Lady Y/n, it is an honor to finally meet the lady of the lake.” Gandalf said, Legolas gaping. You turned. “You are the Lady of the Lake?” Legolas asked. “What has earned you that title I wonder?” Gimli asked. Aragorn was equally as confused as the dwarf on the title. “You know not of the lady of the lake--” “Shh!” You hushed. Footsteps came from behind the door before it opened, two terrified looking children stepping into the hall. “These two children rode in from a village in the west.” A guard said. You frowned. “Then we are in need of evacuation.” you said. You kept a stern face, Aragorn raising a brow until you looked the little girl in the eyes and kneeled to her level.
“What is your name?” You asked, your voice soft and expression softening. “Freda- my name is Freda.” She whimpered. You brushed the hair from her face. “The children will remain with Lady Éowyn, my lord I request that we-” “We will send our citizens to Helm’s Deep.” Théoden said. You nodded. “You will help the citizens--” “No my lord.” you halted. He rose a brow, as did Aragorn and Legolas. “I charge with the men, you need protection outside of a sword.” you stated. He sighed. “I cannot ask this of you. It is like letting my own child go out there.” He said. “Nor can I ask you to lead towards death, for it is like sending my father to his doom.” you said simply. He sighed, Aragorn looking at you. “Then you charge with us.” He said. You nodded, turning on your heel.
The next time Aragorn saw you, you were in armor, your hair pulled back out of your face. You seemed quiet, watching the new addition to the group in silence. You rode next to Aragorn, not speaking as you listened to Gimli’s rather odd tales of home. “So your title.” Aragorn started. You looked over, nodding. “You’re referring to this ‘lady of the lake’ business I suppose.” you shrugged. “What did earn you that name?” Gimli asked. You chuckled, looking ahead at Théoden as he rode. You glanced at your wrists for a moment, them being covered by your vambraces.
“I was almost dead. Goblins had stormed my village and nearly took my life. They left me for dead in a lake not far from it.” You muttered. Theoden looked at you with a sad look. “Something in me wanted to keep fighting. It wanted to stay alive.” Aragorn noticed that look in your eyes, it being far off and pained. “So when they least expected it, when they were removing the sword from my brother’s corpse all they saw was a woman with glowing white eyes emerge from the waters before they were struck down and killed with my powers.” You explained. Aragorn looked at the sword on your side. “Was that your brother’s then?” He asked. “Yes.” you nodded. “How did you end up with Lord Theoden?” Gimli asked. You smiled kindly to the dwarf. “I went unconscious after using my abilities. He found me, asking if I wished to stay with his niece. I said no after first but not long after he found me he fell ill. My mother taught me the ways of medicine and I nursed him back to health. After helping him his villagers started coming to me. After two years, I agreed to help him.” You answered. “You seem happy here.” Aragorn said. You looked at Éowyn who was smiling at something a villager said. “I am.” you answered.
Aragorn liked that smile. It was beautiful, it reminded him of home. “I know of an elven woman who is skilled with water magic.” Aragorn said. “I stayed with the woman you are speaking of.” You said. He blinked. “Arwen Undomiel is the woman you are speaking of, correct?” you asked. He nodded slowly, raising a brow. “Before I lived in the village I stayed with the elves. I spent most of my time in Lothlorien but I also spent some of my time in Rivendell, learning the art of healing from Elrond.” You said. “Why not stay with your family?” Gimli asked. “Power without control is a dangerous thing sir Gimli.” you said. “You trained with us?” Legolas asked. “Yes. I have indeed met your father. Great man. Stern. But great.” you said. Legolas seemed to tense up at the mention of his father. “There are many strange things about you Y/n.” Aragorn stated. “I know. But strange and mysterious is more fun that way, don’t you think?” You asked, clearly amused by the man’s confusion. He gave you a small smile, your heart doing a small backflip as you looked at him.
“Are you close with Lady Arwen?” you asked. “She is practically my sister.” He admitted. You looked over confused. “Elrond raised me.” he said. You rose a brow. “Then how have we never crossed paths if you were in the same places that I was.” you asked. “I am much older than I appear, my lady.” He said. You looked at the man confused. “I am 87.” He said, you blinking with surprise. “You have seen many winters my lord when I have only seen 25.” you said. “You are wise for a woman who is so young.” He said, smiling. Again your heart pounded in your ears. “I have seen many things in this world that provided me with wisdom.” you told him, smiling at him. He felt this strange feeling in his chest.
You noticed a bird in the sky, sticking your arm out so it would perch. It landed, you looking at it as you fed it a cracker from your pack. “There are enemies nearby.” you said. Aragorn rose a brow. “You’ve kept a sentinel?” He asked. “Yes I have.” You answered before lifting your arm, the hawk flying away. You drew your sword, Theoden riding off to the side instructing the men to protect and fight as best as they could. You all rode away from the group, deterring the enemy away from the refugees.
Aragorn immediately noticed you abandoning the horse you rode in on, sending it back to the group before you swung your sword, cutting down an orc. You fought hard, Aragorn noticing your skill. But the large thing he noticed was your habit of keeping close to Théoden. By no means was the man unskilled for battle, he was fighting very well. You though, had this raw energy of fighting that seemed untouchable.
You stabbed an enemy close to you, noticing a warg hurdling towards Aragorn before you stuck out your hand, an invisible force knocking it back out of the way of him. It seemed annoyed by your intervention, standing back up. “Shit.” you breathed as it prepared to charge. It sprinted forward, readying your blade before someone blocked for you, attacking the warg before it could hit you. You looked at him, nodding as a thank you before another warg bit your arm, dragging you as it ran. Aragorn frowned, about to stab it before he realized that his boot had latched itself to the saddle that an orc rode on. “CUT IT FREE!” you yelled, smacking the warg to make it let go. It was in vain as Aragorn made one last attempt to do as he was told before the warg launched itself off of the cliff.
You managed to get free, cutting the loose leather strap of the boot away, pulling Aragorn close. “What are you-” “Trust me” was the last thing Aragorn heard.
Your bodies collided with the waters, it feeling like concrete when you landed. You both washed up on shore, you being a bit more lucid than Aragorn who was still unconscious. “Spirits -o nature hear nin plea. Help nin help nin núr. Help nin help hon núr (spirits of nature, hear my plea, please help me help my people. Help me help him)” You whispered, your voice traveling on the wind before you closed your eyes. You felt something hanging over you, you looking up at a horse… the horse you sent back to the group. You pulled yourself up by the reins, lifting Aragorn up. He groggily climbed onto the horse, you doing the same before it rode on.
You chose to rest while riding, Aragorn slowly waking up. He was leaning against something. He leaned back, his vision slowly returning before seeing you, slightly hunched over as you slept. He was grateful for you. You had saved his life taking most of that fall and he had been much appreciative of that. He noticed that peaceful look on your face, your eyes closed, hair damp from the waters of the river and cheeks slightly rosy from the cold. He held you closer, providing his body heat to keep you warm and you tensed up at first.
It wasn’t until dusk that you actually woke up, Aragorn holding the reins to the horse. You leaned up after realizing that you had fallen asleep against him. “You’re awake.” He noticed. “Yes….” you muttered before noticing something. You leaned forward, looking at the horizon and frowning. You took the reins from Aragorn, making the horse ride faster. “Y/n, What are you doing?” He asked. “There are forces coming from the west, we don’t have much time before they reach Helm’s Deep!” you said.
So you rode, clearly worried. Aragorn couldn’t stop looking at you, something was different about you. Maybe it was the fact that you were no longer a frail woman who needed assistance to even do so much as walk. Maybe it was the fact that you were so determined to save your people from a potentially hopeless battle. Aragorn found himself admiring you.
You rode through the lands, encouraging your horse to go as fast as it could before arriving at the gates. Éowyn was overwhelmed when she saw you, her hugging you on sight. “You’re alive! I knew it!” She said. “Where is Lord Théoden?” you asked. “He is in the hall, Y/n I don’t think he--” “Forces are coming and fast. We must fight, we do not have a choice.” you said before walking past her. You shoved the doors open, walking into the hold. “Lady Y/n!” Théoden gasped, hugging you. “The people are in danger my lord, we must fight. We have no choice” You said. “We do not have the men-” “Then we must call for aid my lord, we have to do something!” you said, urging him to fight. “Y/n, you act as if we have resources to do so.” he said. “We do, we can ask for Gondor’s aid!” you said. “Gondor!?” “Yes my lord! If we call for aid-” “Calling Gondor would be useless. They will do nothing!” He said. “My lord if we fight with only our men we risk leaving them all to die.” You said. He let out a frustrated sigh. “If you do not wish to call for aid then I could-” “No.” He halted you. You frowned. “Sire, our people need protection, if you would just let me-” “I will not allow you to do that Y/n, do not press this any further.” Théoden halted. “Sire-” “I REFUSE Y/N, NOW STOP!” He yelled. You swallowed hard, Aragorn looking at you as you pushed past him and walked out.
You started taking off your arm braces, Aragorn walking after you. “Y/n, there may yet be hope.” He said. You shook your head. “So long as it is only our men that charge, there is no hope for survival sir Aragorn.” You breathed, braiding your hair. He frowned, putting a hand on your shoulder. “There is still hope Y/n, if you would trust me.” He said. You looked in his eyes, before looking down. “There is one last thing that we can do my lord…” you said with a sigh. You looked at your wrists, the markings of chains embedded on your skin. “What is that?” He asked. You looked at him and shook your head. “I am… Not what you believe me to be.” You told him. “What is it that you mean?” He asked. “My lord I am not in Théoden’s court as a healer or a sorceress.” you said. He raised a brow. “Then what are you there for?” He asked. “I am a weapon.” you answered.
He looked at you. “I am not to use my abilities unless it is life or death for it may kill me.” You admitted. Aragorn frowned. “Then no, we will not use that.” He said. “We have no choice, if it is my life for hundreds then so be it.” you said. “I cannot lose you!” He said. “Why? Because you care for me!? I care too much for my people than to sacrifice their winning chance because you decided to feel something for me.” you snapped. He sighed, closing his eyes. “If we lose you, who’s to say that sacrifice would not be in vain?” He asked. You sighed. “I must try Aragorn. Even if it does kill me.” you said softly. He closed his eyes and you put a hand to his cheek.
“Im am sorrui an what cin lothron lose Aragorn. But know i whatever does happen. Im ceri- care an cin. (I am sorry for what you may lose Aragorn. But know that whatever does happen... I do care for you.)” You said softly. He opened his eyes, looking at you. “I should find the armory.” you said, clearing your throat and leaving.
Hours had past, the sun was falling on the horizon and war was creeping closer. You had remained in the armory, watching children who shouldn’t be prepping to die, prepare for death. You looked over, Aragorn putting on his armor in silence. You walked over, tightening a strap he couldn’t reach. He cleared his throat. “Are you really… going out there?” he asked. “Unless a miracle happens then I will make whatever sacrifice I have to.” you muttered. Aragorn looked down, clearly saddened by this. First he lost a woman who was practically his sister by sailing away to the Undying Lands. Now he was losing someone all over again.
You heard a loud horn, looking up confused. “That is no orc horn.” Legolas noticed. You rushed off with Aragorn, walking out to see elves. You paused, looking at the sight in front of you. “Who… called for aid?” You asked, looking at the elven general. “I bring word from Elrond of Rivendell. An alliance once existed between elves and men. Long ago we fought and died together.” Haldir said. Aragorn smiled. “We come to honor that allegiance.” Haldir added. “Mae govannen, Haldir. (Welcome, Haldir)” Aragorn greeted. He hugged the man, earning a small smile from you. “You are most welcome!” Aragorn said clearly relieved by the man’s presence alone.
Morale boosted greatly as you continued to prepare for war. Théoden found you putting on your breastplate. “Y/n… a word.” He said. You turned around. “Yes, my lord?” you asked. “I apologize for yelling at you earlier, it was wrong of me.” He said. He noticed you didn’t put on your vambraces. “Are you planning on using your abilities?” he asked. You swallowed. “...I saw those forces Théoden… There’s too many… We will lose.” you muttered. “...Do what you think is best.” He said after a long silence. You looked up. “Sire-” “you have always done what was best for our people. You’ve fought strongly and bravely and when I said you were like my daughter, I meant it.” Théoden said. “Sire… Do you think I should use my abilities?” you asked. “I think you should only use them in a moment you think it’s truly needed.” He said. You nodded before he walked out.
You walked to the wall, standing next to Aragorn. “You seem a bit more confident.” you muttered, looking at the man as he adjusted his boot. “Indeed. We have more aid.” he said. “Aragorn I..” you sighed and shook your head, him raising a brow. “Y/n if you wish to say something I’d advise you to say it before we possibly die.” he said. You rolled your eyes. "Great job on boosting the morale sir Aragorn." You muttered. "Speak now or forever hold your peace." He said sarcastically. You sighed. "... You've been pleasant to be around. And I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier. I want you to know that whatever happens out there… I'm glad that I am fighting next to you. And I'm glad that I knew you." You said to him. Aragorn rose, looking at you. You faced the battlefield, trying to ignore the gaze of the man.
Course that became more difficult to ignore when Aragorn pulled you into a kiss. You sunk into it, your heart beating in your ears as you nearly collapsed into the man's arms. "I am glad to have you with me." He said softly. You nodded slowly before he walked off to investigate the other groups on the walls.
Rain poured around you as twilight finally set and you could see the forces approaching. Aragorn soon came back to a place on the wall, looking at you as you stared at the forces gathering and then the chain tattoo on your wrists. Aragorn looked at you before taking your hand. You looked at him and then turned back to the battlefield. You had a dagger in your freehand, you looking at your wrist and then the battlefield again. "....Aragorn?" You muttered. He looked over. "Hmm?" He asked. "Thank you for being here." You said softly. He smiled and you looked back at the battlefield. You slid the dagger back into your holster, looking at the orcish army before you.
Perhaps you would live to see another day.

The Way Back {Faramir x Reader Oneshot}
Requested by: Anonymous Wordcount: 3057 Summary: Love can be found in the unlikeliest of places, such as in a war-torn city after a win.
You took a deep breath in, and then a deep breath out. It felt like you hadn’t had the time to breathe in days. It had been battle, after battle, after battle against Sauron and his forces, ending up in this, the grand battle outside of Gondor. But the enemy had finally been defeated, the last of the orcs crying back to Mordor. You removed your helmet and let your hair fly free in the breeze as the world seemed to catch it’s own breath back. There was still plenty to do, such as tend to the wounded, burn the bodies of the deceased, and begin plans to rebuild the city. There were many fallen on both sides, even though the battle had been won by yourself, and by Gondor. By Minas Tirith. You looked about you, savoring the moment of peace, before plunging yourself into even more work.
You regretted that you did not attend the last battle at Mordor, but you had a much more pressing issue of helping with Gondor. There was so much here that had to be done, and you put your faith in your three companions. Legolas, your younger brother, who looked so much like you with delicate elfin features, but was a killer with a bow. Gimli, the dwarf that you came to see as a friend and an annoyance in your life, almost like a grumpy old pet, but one who could swing an axe like it was no ones business. And Aragorn, your best friend, a fellow Ranger, who had returned from Mordor and would soon be crowned King. But for now, he left you to care for Eowyn, a woman that he had introduced you to, who had been hurt in the battle. As two female warriors, the two of you struck up a quick kinship. It had been you who had given her a horse to ride among the riders, before you went with your fellowship to hold the dead to their oaths. Your horse, one of the fastest in the world, and the envy of many of the riders, including her brother.
You sat with her in the healing wing, dabbing her forehead gently with a damp cloth.
“I’m barely moving enough to sweat, y/n, there’s no need for this,” She said, trying to wave you away with her injured hand. You shushed her, and put it back down to her side. She looked more fragile than you were used to seeing her. Before, you had seen it in her eyes that she was always ready for a fight, the inner beast in her wanting to come out and growl at the world. A true dragon in pretty colors.
“Would you rather me go and get one of the healers to do it for you? I feel they would not be as good company as I though...” You threatened, and she sighed and allowed you to go on with your blotting. You were not a healer, though you knew a couple of things. Like to constantly check your friend for fever, for the wounds that she had sustained were nasty. She may have stabbed the witch King in the face, but she paid the price for that.
“I don’t like feeling helpless like this. I want to help the healers - it is only a couple of wounds. But no, all they let me do is go for one walk a day among the garden, like I’m some sort of...”
“Woman?” You asked, raising an eyebrow. “Let us go on our walk then. Let them dare to stop us while we are together. They can try to bully one warrior, but two? I do not think them so foolish.” You took hold of Eowyn’s better hand, and helped her onto her feet. She was eager to be up, and there was a flounce to her step, almost girlish. Sometimes she lamented being a woman, but there was still some femininity to her.
Together you walked out of the healing wing, and out into the open air of Gondor. A lot had been ruined during the war, and was being rebuilt. There were footsoldiers still around, and were helping to guide the reconstruction process. Everyone was helping out - even children, who were spreading the mortar over the walls with their little hands. “Are you going to return to Rohan as soon as you are healed?” You asked Eowyn as you strolled arm in arm, avoiding the places where the most damage had been done.
“After Aragorn’s coronation,” She answered. “I see no sense in returning, just to turn around and come back in a couple of weeks. And with my brother constantly off with the Riders of Rohan, they are going to need a new leader.”
“I see,” You said, nodding. “I’m so sorry to hear about your Uncle, Eowyn. He was a great man, as as I’m sure you knew. And he taught you well, you’ll take his place fantastically.”
“What about you? I remember your father wanted you to return to Mirkwood-”
You shook your head vehemently. “I too will be staying until the coronation. Legolas may be returning but I’m not so quick to leave the scene of one of the greatest battles that Middle Earth has ever known. I’m reluctant to go back...”
“Why?”
“I’m his heir, and he is getting older. I know that he wants me to take up the throne, but I am not Queen material, Eowyn. I belong on the battlefield. That’s where I feel the most comfortable! Not among the rich dresses and the gossip of elfen society,” You opened up to Eowyn, knowing that her, above anyone else, would understand how you feel. “Legolas is better suited as King than I ever would be as Queen. Were it I were born second rather than first...”
“Either way, it would be nice to have someone who is more sympathetic to humans on the throne,” Eowyn said, coming to a halt. You looked at her confused. “There he is - that is Faramir, the new Steward of Gondor.”
You followed her eyeline to see a man, leaning over one of the walls, looking out at the wreckage of the grounds that had been the battlefield. His hair was to his shoulders, a messy light brown - it was a look that many of the human men wore. Aragorn. Boromir -
Of course! This had been the brother that Boromir had mentioned to you during the nights when you two had watch together. But with some more burns upon him than Boromir had ever seen. You had heard of what had happened to him. His own father had tried to kill him.
“Shall we introduce ourselves?” You asked. Eowyn, who was far from timid even while she was wearing a gown rather than armor, nodded her approval.
You approached him together, which did not seem to intimidate him, for he gave you a surprising smile when you reached him. “I hope we aren’t interrupting your thoughts,” You said, pleasantly.
“Not at all,” He inisisted. “I always have time for two of our heroes.”
You beamed down at Eowyn, seeing the little flush on her cheeks. It was amazing seeing her talent be recognized. You were about to praise her even more, just to see if she could go as red as a rose, when one of the healers came running up, interrupting the mood. “You should be resting Lady Eowyn!” She chided.
“But...” Eowyn started, but then gave in rather easily. “Excuse me. I hurt my hand while killing the Witch King. I hope you understand my quick departure.”
You couldn’t stop grinning at her little amount of bragging. She deserved that much. Faramir bowed his head respectfully as the healer took Eowyn away, who was still complaining that she was fine. “Did you receive an injury while doing something important like killing a Witch King?” He asked.
“I stubbed my toe while taking down an Oliphaunt,” You shrugged, making him grin. You realized while he was doing so that he was actually pretty handsome .. for a human. He had a softer face than both Aragorn and Boromir, the only two humans that you could claim had been your friends. Or still were, in Aragorn’s case. He wasn’t as bristly. And he had very kind eyes. The race of men really was starting to grown on you.
-
Your father had come to Aragorn’s coronation. You had not expected him to. He very rarely left Mirkwood. Not since the Battle of the Five Armies had he ventured anywhere near this far. But the King returning to his throne was a grand deal, so you supposed it wasn’t that out of the ordinary. You stood beside your brother in welcoming your dear friend to the throne, and had managed to position yourself in a way that let you look at the Steward. He stood with Eowyn, who had become as wonderful a friend to him as she had to you. A sister to the both of you, though she needed no more siblings - not with a gruff one like Eomer about.
“When are you going to tell father?” Legolas whispered after Aragorn had passed.
“Tell him what?” You hissed.
“About how you are in love with a human,” He said, smiling widely. You nudged him and he nearly fell into Gimli, but his elf-like reflexes stopped him from doing so. “He can’t take his eyes off of you. Is that why you dressed up today? It is so weird to see you in a gown.”
“Can you please be quiet and enjoy our friend’s special day?” You asked in Elvish. Legolas did quiet down but you kept sneaking peeks over at Faramir. The two of you had gotten rather close in the last couple of months. And you might even think that you had given your heart over to the man, though it was very painful to think about. You would continue to remain youthful for many, many years, barely gaining a wrinkle while this man would grow old, wither, die. Life was cruel that way. Unbelievably cruel.
You saw eyes looking at you behind Faramir, and caught your father’s stern gaze. Your eyes widened, and like a child caught doing something bad, you immediately looked anywhere but your father, pretending to be distracted by the leaves, or the sweet little hobbits.
After the ceremony was a lovely party, which Aragorn did not attend because he went straight into his duties. You could say a lot of things about Aragorn, but not that he wasn’t dedicated to his work. You walked through the party, surprising a great number of people by wearing an intricate Elven gown for the occasion. Most of these people had only seen you in your fighting garb, which looked a great deal like Legolas’s. In fact, on more than one occasion, you had been mistaken for one another. Definitely not on this day, though.
You wandered, before Faramir’s hand lightly brushed against your arm, pulling you into conversation. “You look...” He said, gazing at you up and down, trying to find the words. You decided rather than waste time, you would finish his sentence for him.
“-like a beautiful Elven lady?”
“You took the words right out of my mouth,” Faramir said with a grin. He looked bashful, an expression that became him. He could be the most cold, hardened warrior, but around you, he seemed to be a bit more of a bashful mess. It was a very endearing trait. And it was something that brought the warmth right out of you.
“Yes, my daughter is a very beautiful Elven lady,” Your father’s familiar voice said from you behind you. Your eyes said ‘Uh-oh’ faster than your mouth could, and you turned to see him standing there. The blonde hair that the whole family had was gleaming brightly in the sun light. “I’m stealing her for a moment from you, Steward.”
“Of course,” Faramir said with a nod. He walked away with his hands behind his back, having recovered very well from his injuries. You watched as he walked towards Eowyn, and they struck up a friendly conversation. Your two favorite humans - and yet it gave you a feeling in the pit of your stomach that you did not like. You were wary of them being close. You were fond of both of them and you would not be surprised if they became overly fond of one another.
“Is that him?” Your father asked, following your line of sight. You stopped staring, and turned back towards him to give him the respect that he both deserved and demanded.
“Is that whom?” You questioned, your eyebrow arching upwards.
“The human that has stolen your heart?” Your father’s steely gaze cut through you like a knife. So he knew. You looked behind him for Legolas, and once you had caught his eye, you gave him a glare. “Do not blame your brother like you are some sort of child. He didn’t tell me a thing. It is entirely obvious.”
“Do you think that he knows?” You asked, swallowing any denial that you might have had bubbling.
“Since he is an inferior human, I would suppose not.” Your father said, chin held high. “I was going to ask you to come back with me. Take your place as the ruler of Mirkwood. There is a lot of work to be done.”
The happiness that you had felt for Aragorn, and then the slight giddiness that you had around Faramir had dissipated entirely. You were back to the way that the elves usually were. Hard-browed. No emotion showing.
“I’m sure that there is,” You said, not excited at all about the prospect of returning to your home. “And you are sure that you want me to be doing it?”
“As the oldest, it is your duty. Female or not,” Your father said. But he wasn’t catching your eye - he continued to glance over at Faramir. “You have caught his attention most ardently. He will not stop looking in your direction. It almost reminds me of your mother.”
Your heart started to beat in your chest, but your expression did not change. Still, there was a little bit of hope shining through. You tried to catch your father’s eye, but he kept looking away, which was unusual. Usually, he enjoyed looking right into the eyes of the person that he was talking to. It was a power play. And now you were the one who was trying to be the one in power.
“Is there any way that we can postpone it, father?” You asked, trying to make yourself taller so that he could not avoid looking at you. “Just for a few decades? Hardly any time at all - and all of that work will still be waiting for me.”
“A couple of decades? So you can come back after your human lover dies, and take out your grief in your work like I had?” Thranduil asked, tutting. You have never heard him tut before. But you also knew that he had a point. You remembered how he had thrown himself into his duties as King when your mother had died. He hadn’t given himself the proper time to grieve, and his leadership was lack for that. “We’d better give it a century or two. I might be able to finish my own tasks in time for that.”
“Surely - you’re joking? This is the first joke that you make and you decide for it to be this?” You questioned, unable to take your father seriously at this moment. His expression had not changed at all. In fact, now, it looked a little bit angry.
“I do not joke.” He said, glaring at you. “I am trying to give you the opportunity to love.”
You tried to search for any sign of deceit in his eyes, but could find none. He even looked a little ... flustered? Uncomfortable at the idea of talking about love with his daughter? Either way, you weren’t going to pass this opportunity up. You clasped your hands in front of yourself and gave him a bow which he then returned, before sweeping himself away to talk to Legolas, which was always much less about emotions.
You walked back over to Faramir and Eowyn, and put your hand on Faramir’s arm like he had to you just moments before. “May I speak with you for a moment?” You asked him, looking over at Eowyn. The blonde woman gave you a knowing smile, and walked off to speak with Merry, whom she had grown fond of over the war. The Steward of Gondor looked at you, still with that soft grin that you enjoyed looking at so much.
“What is it?” He asked, the grin faltering slightly. You’ve never asked him to talk privately before, and he wondered if something was wrong. But you took that away from him with your own lips, which you softly pressed against his once you were sure you had a little bit of privacy. “My lady?” He questioned, after returning it.
“It is unconventional, but it appears that I’ve fallen for you, Faramir, Steward of Gondor.”
“You have?” He asked, bewildered, but then seemed to regain his senses rather quickly. “I thought you never would. I’ve already resigned myself to growing old by myself.”
“You don’t have to,” You said, taking hold of his rough and calloused hands, giving them a squeeze. “If you will have me, I’d like to be by your side as you grow into a handsome old man.”
“While you stay the same?” He asked, his voice going softer.
“Yes,” You said with a nod. There was no point in beating around the bush - he would grow old and you would stay exactly as you were. It would be quite some time before you started to look older than you already were.
“My beautiful wife,” Faramir said, leaning in for another kiss. You granted it happily.
