Yugure Yuhi is good at many things. At the ripe young age of 18, she landed herself a role as the protagonist in the hit show Phantom. She can draw a realistic rendition of a mecha with her eyes closed, she can nail down a new dance within a few hours and when her back’s against the ropes, she can dish out meaningful compliments to her fri–partner on her high school radio show.

What Yugure Yuhi is not good at is pick-up beach volleyball.

YES!! I have five actually, and while I'm still trying to fit them in a way that would make more sense for the canon story(So one director, in my own little version ig each of the troupes have their own directors, but also I know that there are some people that really don't like when the story is changed, even if it's not a drastic change, so that's why I'm trying to work on a more canon version?) I also don't have any art of them so I'll be using picrews for now, I'll give the link too ofc! I'll update this once I make art for them since the picrews won't have the colors/clothes/body types I have in mind.

Izumi Sato: She/Her, Bisexual, 22-23, January 23. She's supposed to be like Izumi from the game with a few changes to make her more like an oc of mine. All of the stuff that happens in game to make her join the Mankai company, happens to her. She's easy to get along with and extraverted, she's not afraid to embarrass herself and is great at encouraging others to be themselves as well. In my own story she encourages her younger sister, Aiko, to come stay at Mankai company with her to try and encourage her to get out and socialize more. She's sometimes a little pushy and stubborn, but she means well. She's the main director for the spring troupe. The character's I ship her with are Tsuzuru, Itaru, Citron, and Chikage. Her fashion would consist of comfy clothes that are still cute. I also think her hair would be more in between this brown and the red hair her sister has. She would wear blues the most.

Himari Asahi: She/They, Pansexual, 19-20, April 10. She's close friends with Izumi! She struggles to be as outgoing as Izumi and really admires Izumi for her personality, that's why she tries her hardest to talk to others, since she wants to be like Izumi personality wise. She loves dressing up in cute fashion, and she can be her weird true self when she trusts you enough. Izumi calls her an alien which Himari does not deny, she's not actually an alien sadly, but she thinks it'd be cool if she was. She goes to the same university as Kazunari, wanting to be an artist for video games. They're prone to disaster and bad luck, but they try their hardest, always, even if no one notices how hard they try. I ship them with Misumi, and Kazunari. They would be the director for the Summer troupe while Izumi takes care of the Spring troupe. I think their color scheme would be more of a periwinkle rather then lavender.

Chika Suzuki: She/Her, Bisexual, 25-26, November 3. Chika is a very mature woman who acts like the mother of the company, she's reliable, wise, and caring. She's also the richest of my A3 oc's, coming from a very wealthy background. She helps Izumi out with managing the Autumn trope and the finances. She's also childhood friends with Yuki, who taught Chika how to enjoy life and be herself. Despite Chika helping out a ton with the company, cooking is her kryptonite, she cannot cook a meal to save her life. She's also the tallest out of my A3 oc's, being 5'11. She first got into the Mankai company because she was interested in acting and found enjoyment in watching the plays, which caused her to donate a large sum of money. She later looked into working for the Mankai company, wanting to actually BE there. Despite having no history with management, she understood what she needed to do very quickly and adapted well. I ship her with Omi, and Sakyo. Her fashion consists of expensive, mature looking clothes that are also comfortable to wear, mainly wearing black, white, or red.

Yuki Kimura: They/She, PanDemi, 25-26, December 18. Chika's childhood friend! Yuki was a very shy child, but she always found enjoyment in the little things and was extremely grateful of the stuff that she could have as she grew up poor. Eventually Yuki's mother passed and Yuki got adopted, causing her and Chika to separate. Eventually, Chika and Yuki reunited in Mankai company and are closer then ever. To this day they still struggle with asking for things and spending their money, usually they'll spend their money on their friends rather then themselves. The people I ship them with are Tsumugi, Tasuku, Hisoka, Homare, Azuma, and Guy. They help out with managing the winter troupe. They also feel their soul leave their body when Chika cooks and therefore wastes food since it's inedible. Their fashion consists of warm, baggy, comfortable clothing. Their also chubby and have a lisp, which makes them really awkward and nervous whenever they speak. Yuki prefers to wear white clothing, but they enjoy any pastel clothing.

Aiko Sato: Any/All, 16-17, PanDemi May 5. She's Izumi's younger sister who's a total recluse. He has a really hard time socializing with others ad lives in constant fear of other people. It does not want to see people and it doesn't want others to see it. They go to school and that's their main experience with life outside of their home. She doesn't talk to anyone but her sister and even then she wants to run away when her sister tries to get her to go out. He hates himself and almost everything around him, he's extremely pessimistic and nihilistic. When it's sister makes it come to Mankai company it takes it a while before it even talks to anyone, just nodding at what they say if it's around them. However, they are a fan of fashion and after coming to Mankai company they stttarted to dress more how they wanted to, wearing cute dresses and accessorizing. With time she gets really close to the people in her age group. He helps out around Mankai company here are there, providing water bottles during training, or helping with dinner and cleaning, rather then doing any actual work. The people I ship them with are, Sakuya, Masumi, Tenma, Yuki, Muku, Kumon, Banri, Juza, Taichi, and Azami. It'd be more chubby, and have horrible eyebags. They also prefer to cover one eye because they're very insecure of their heterochromia, so sometimes they'll cover it with their hair or an eyepatch, whatever they feel like at the time. Aiko wears black and white mostly with little hints of color here and there!

Mankai March question 3!

We learned about everyone’s favorite character yesterday, now let’s learn about any characters you might have! Do you have any OCs or yumes for A3! ? Feel free to ramble about them!!

佐藤真人 Masato Sato is one of the veteran artists who worked on the Detective Conan anime from the very beginning, bringing a distinct directorial style that left a strong impression. He contributed to many important episodes of the series, several original episodes, and even worked on some Detective Conan movies. Although he served as the series director at one point in the production (333-504), various changes in the anime staff prevented him from going beyond what he was already accustomed to doing.

His prime lies in the early seasons of Detective Conan, and here’s a highlight of his work.

When it comes to Sato’s shot compositions, his episodes feature a significant number of wide, medium and perspective shots. Most of the time, he has a particular attachment to the central subject of his compositions (whether a single character or a group), deliberately framing them as if viewed through a slightly open door, drawing the spectator’s eye toward them while still allowing the entire shot to be taken in (The Megure's one for exemple).

Additionally, he also has a strong fondness for high-angle shots, using them frequently. Sato is an artist who plays extensively with the Art Direction.

Sato loves to play with the power of light sources, both outdoors and indoors. In his episodes, for example, you can often see a strong brightness in one corner of the frame, creating an interesting visual style.

He also likes to experiment with colors, often applying filters during moments of reflection or flashbacks to enhance the mood.

Sato and Animation Director Akio Kawamura worked together frequently in the early days, which naturally led to the "creation" of the Kawamura pose.

Sato is an artist who also reminds us how important an Episode's Direction by a single individual is and how much it varies depending on talented artists. For example, when an episode storyboarded by Sato is directed by someone like Yasuichiro Yamamoto, it doesn’t always feel the same as when Sato himself directs his own storyboard. A simple example is that during Conan’s moments of reflection, Yamamoto often likes to rotate the character, whereas Sato does not. Instead, he prefers to use the background to convey story elements by using a pan (left or right). Of course, artists like Yamamoto can make minor changes, but it's also important to remember that some artists create storyboards with the skill level of the Episode’s Director/Animators in mind. This allows them to incorporate more complex elements into the storyboard.

When it comes to Episode Direction, it's worth noting that episodes directed by Sato (even if not storyboarded by himself) are often among the strongest in terms of artistic direction. Episode #196 is a perfect example of this. When he is solely responsible for the storyboard, his influence is so strong that the Episode Director naturally brings a similar energy.

Sato experimented a lot in his early days, and many of his directional ideas were "abandoned" in favor of something more simpler. Various motifs used to emphasize expression. The use of bokeh in episode #42. Frequent allusions to the well-known direction of Osamu Dezaki. It should be remembered that, originally, Detective Conan was not intended to be a long-running series.

Why can't nii give Sakura interesting layers to his character outside " traumatized socially awkward teen" like any interesting new revelation about him? Give him close or special person " relative, friend" anything!

If he had actually had people who had accepted him before, why would had him gone to try to gain a sense of self-worth by beating people up in the middle of who knows where?

Sakura's character goes taking shape as he gets to experience things beyond reject. Like how his favorite food is omurice, probably because it was (I suppose) the first meal someone has gave him because they wanted.

But if we're talking about something he is that can't be linked downright to his trauma and the shitty life he had, then that be his kindness. Bro doesn't have a single reason to be kind, he just is. Despite how people took that kindness coming from him.

There's also how bad at technology he is. You can't blame that on his lack of bonds. Suzuri has only just started playing games (finally) and he's already better at it than him. Meanwhile, Sakura has had his phone since before joining Furin and boy can't type a single message. Yeah, you could say he didn't have no one to text to, but has he never used internet? Google or whatever search engine Japanese people use?

To be honest, that only makes me wonder what did he do in his free time. I mean, teenagers without friends tend to spend their free time reading or online. Did he seriously just sleep? Did bro spent all day sleeping or fighting?

Bro, is this how you got so good at parkour? Did you go up in any given chance to avoid people to the point you can compete with cats?

This kinda just made his character funnier to me. Here there's a teenager with no friends nor social life, with an avaible phone, who never thought on using internet to waste time.

I got sidetracked. Anyways, yeah Sakura's trauma is a big part of his character. No, he probably doesn't have any positive bonds linking to anyone of his past. (If he had, then probably something bad would had happened for him to move away of them so...) Well, I don't think he has. And about the last part—

"Distant and closed off" is really just how he starts. He's defensive, yes. But he's terrible at keeping people away and literally can't reject their kindness. Just on the first chapters bro ended up carrying a mountain of food because he couldn't say no. He also finished it all.

There's also that funny scene when he carries granny Sato on his back all the way to Pothos— only for her to jump off his back and land in a superhero pose (we love granny Sato).

He also goes to Anzai's childhood friend (the girl one)— I don't remember if he went to know what was going on with Anzai or he asked because she was crying— and listened silently to her story. That's kinda why he followed Anzai and all that.

And then in the Noroshi arc, after getting his ass beat and finally winning Endo (in whatever sense you prefer), he still helped him to get to the roof to watch the Umemiya vs Chika (almost typed Chiaki— whoops, wrong fandom) fight.

He's not distant (despite his name), he's defensive (hence the tsundere behaviour), mostly when he's embarrased, and silent. He's also really naive ("Oh, you're foreigner?!" and literally every interaction with Suo, lol).

He also seems to be a fast learner when it comes to fighting (he literally uses Tsubaki's way of kicking after the gravel arc, has used one of Choji's move before, and then there's whatever he did in the bridge), seems to have strong morals, and he also hates hats and glasses. Though that last one is most likely related to his trauma (i think it was referenced before, but I could be wrong).

A pity you find him boring, I guess. You don't have to read it if you don't want. You can also read it because of someone else besides the main character.
