synopsis: The protagonist, Mebuki Meme, had a peaceful everyday life. A dear friend, and a dear brother, she held them closely. However, that mundane peacefulness came to an abrupt end. Because of the "murder case" which revolving around her. "The One Eyed Ripper." Remembering that name, Rumors created by someone had created a murderer. Those peaceful everyday's have ended. Now begins the story of a person killing another. For love, for desire, for the sake of finding the right answer.Well then, who's the culprit?

the series “one eyed ripper” is currently a song based series, however, two pixiv mangas have been uploaded revolving around the characters, and there is a game in production.

Mebuki Meme

Height: 156cm (5′1″) Birthday: 6/17 (June 17th) A second year in high school.

She lives together with her young stepbrother, Akihiro. She has a bright personality, but she’s not quite capable of thinking too deeply on things. She possesses a “let’s forget about bad things!” mindset.  However, she is burdened by concerns towards her brothers distrust in humans, as well as his sister complex (an extreme attachment to his sister, aka her), as she has a strong caring side to her. As a result, she worsens his sister complex without realizing it. She constantly pokes fun at Haruhiko’s idiocy, but she herself isn’t much better.

With the One Eyed Ripper murder case, she learns the truth about human nature, and falls into despair.

Tabako Haruhiko

Height: 182cm (5′10″) [if the img size difference doesnt show how big this boy is......] Birthday: 3/18 (March 18th) A second year in high school, however, he’s assumed to be older than Meme as he’s had to repeat year(s) (?)

A young man with a green muffler and a very distinct height. He’s in the same class as Meme, and has been friends with her since the start of high school. He looks like a disruptive delinquent, but that’s not really the case. He doesn’t skip class, but his test scores and grades aren’t the best. While he’s not in any clubs, he possess great reflexes. He has a strange sense of justice, and is the type of person to consider his friends. He’s worried about the hardships of his friend since middle school, Chifuyu. He also sympathizes with the sense of responsibility towards Meme’s younger brother. His hobby is teasing other people. It’s inevitable that he has fun teasing Meme.

In Meme’s words, “He’s a big mischevious kid.” In Chifuyu’s words, “He’s a rare chattering moron.” Well, it’s scary to make light of a moron.

Mebuki Akihiro

Height: 152cm (4′10″) Birthday: 9/9 (September 9th) A first year in high school.

A boy with distinctive freckles and heterochromia. He’s Meme’s younger brother, and possesses an extreme sister complex. As you’d expect from his short and slim appearance, he lacks physical strength. It looks like he wasn’t the type to play outside when he was younger, and he’s bad at working out.   He has extreme distrust towards anyone who isn’t Meme. Especially towards Haruhiko, who he doesn’t hide his disgust for. It doesn’t look like he has anyone he’d call a friend, nor does he want one. After becoming Meme’s stepbrother, they had first met during middle school. Essentially, even though they’ve been family for a short time, from the very beginning, he’s never felt any distrust towards Meme. Rather, it seems he already trusted her. Even though Meme herself thinks it’s strange, he won’t explain his reasons.

To no surprise, he thinks “in this world, I don’t need anything besides big sis.”

Minowa Chifuyu

Height: 162cm (5′3) Birthday: 11/18 (November 18th) A second year in high school.

Even though he wears an eye patch over his left eye, he’s a pretty average looking boy. He’s in the same class as Meme, and he, Meme, and Haruhiko are often with each other. He has excellent grades, is the vice president of the student counsel, and is an outgoing person. Furthermore, he’s the head of his household. He’s the legitimate heir of the Minowa family, which has lived in his town for a very long time. At school, however, the formalities that come with it are almost unnoticeable. In front of Meme and Haruhiko, he’s bright, smart, and sarcastic, and he enjoys teasing the both of them and riling them up. It’s said there’s not a single day where either of them could win against his teasing. His philosophical views he’s acquired from wherever often causes Meme to think, “Chifuyu’s pretty mature, huh?” 

He has a soft expression that’s rarely seen towards others, but it can be seen when he’s with Haruhiko and Meme. From the bottom of my heart, I treasure those two. What’s tormenting me so much, is my own intelligence. Surely you can understand.

pretty much all of the one eyed ripper songs have translations from various sources! the most accurate ones will be on the vocaloidlyrics wikia, but for basic listening, CC on youtube will also be good! considered the very first song in the plot chronologically (as of right now), as well as start off for the series, this song details the span of the murder case from start to “finish”. go ahead and listen to it before reading up on the other songs if you want a total “no spoiler” experience.

the second song for the series to release, this one focuses much on haruhiko’s character and his developing feelings towards meme. not much to be said! but personally, this is my favorite song in the series

monop’s confession

the third, and currently most recent song to be uploaded for this series! this one focuses on akihiro’s character, as well as provides an “alternate timeline” within the series at the end of the pv. 

that being said, please do not rush shitoo to make more songs. i have no idea if they plan on it in the first place! they’re busy with the game and stuff already. if you want more content, however, there’s also mangas as well as the official twitter, which uploads development on the game as well as rt’ing fanart!

masterpost for the one eyed ripper murder case song series, which is currently at two songs and an in-progress game

story:

a good chunk of the story is pretty much told in the first song but i’ll leave a tiny summary in case you can’t listen to it

-a group of friends walk the protaganist, meme, home after school. while she’s headed home through an alleyway, she’s attacked by a person in a mask, the one eyed ripper

-she wakes up in a hospital and learns that she’s the only survivor of the one eyed ripper’s attacks. she’s asked if she knows who did it aside from the mask, and the girl proceeds to speculate the options.

-meme takes note that her brother has been becoming more possessive over her/acting strange, and connects the smile she saw the ripper have to her brothers. this leads her to pinning the identity onto her brother

-haruhiko, the green haired boy, promises to protect her from the ripper. it then pans to a conversation between two people. person a asks what person b’s intentions are, and talks about how “she” belongs to person a. person b claims that “she” belongs to them, and person a talks about how they’ll protect “her”

-meme walks through the alleyway with her brother to set him straight, only to run into the body of the eyepatch boy. she realizes that her brother ISNT the killer, because he’s been with her the entire time. it then pans to the one eyed killer, who reveals himself to be haruhiko.

-haruhiko talks about how he “promised to protect her” and how he has to kill all the boys who get near her, which led to her brother being murdered in front of her. the song ends with haruhiko saying “now we’ll be together forever”

one eye’s monologue isn’t too important story wise, but it does delve into haruhiko’s backstory.

-haruhiko talks about how he felt apathetic towards the world and felt as if everything was pointless until he met meme, and it shows his green scarf was gifted to him from meme

-after meeting meme, he sees her as “the most beautiful thing in the world” 

-it further goes into how he doesnt want meme to be near him because of how awful he is, but also how he wants her to be nice to him and how shes made him feel alive

-then it goes even FURTHER downhill when it talks about how he wants her to only look at him

meme mefuki, the protagonist of the story

the big sister of akihiro mefumi. shes a second year attending yusumi highschool and currently lives at her parents house (her parents both work so theyre rarely at home though) it appears shes pretty bad with her studies and is a target of haruhikos teasing. 

haruhiko tabako , one of meme’s friends

a classmate of meme. he used to be apathetic and more than likely depressed before he met meme. hes VERY tall, is said to be pretty strong, and is popular among the females in his class. according to meme, he teases her a lot (x)

minowa chifuyu, a friend of meme

he appears to be a bit airheaded but a good friend. in one of shitoo’s pixiv comments, he was given the chocolate bar that aki and haruhiko were fighting over since meme was gonna give someone it and he had no idea (he was threatened by both of them, poor guy)

akihiro mefuki, the (adoptive?) younger brother of meme

a shy but well meaning boy who holds his sister very dear. he was aware of haruhiko’s true intentions but the poor boy didn’t get the chance to warn meme... rest in peace. he goes to same highschool as his sister as a 1st year and appears to be pretty bad at speaking even to his sister.

The One Eye’s Monologue, The One Eyed Ripper Case, Monop’s Confession and Dead Men Tell No Tales

Time to start out with one of my favorite vocaloid creators, しとお! Or Shitoo~ You might have heard of this one, but I’m going to make a post on it because I love it so much. 

Shitoo’s One Eyed Monologue series is probably my favorite male yandere creator of all time. While the story itself is really straight forward and the themes are very obvious (you can probably start a decent drinking game with how many eye symbolisms are in the video) it does something very well that I can appreciate. And that is give the person listening to it the mood of a yandere. What does that mean? Let me try to explain. 

It’s a bit like when you listen to music to hype yourself out. Exciting music to get you pumped to workout, slow music to allow you to finish your homework, etc. For me, at least, the One Eyed Monologue helps me get into the mood of writing or at least imagining yanderes. That is incredibly important when you’re writing a character as twisted as the characters above. 

Quick summary for the videos and link above: Shitoo is creating a visual novel for these characters, with the videos accompany them to give a gist of a story ( at least that’s what I believe, I may be wrong about that), with each video giving more insight about the game itself. 

From what I can tell, each of the characters are a yandere, with the target being the pink haired girl, Meme Mebuki. The other three characters are scarf boy (Haruhiko Tabako), little brother ( Akihiro Mebuki) and eyepatch boy (Chifuyu Minowa ). 

The One Eye’s Monologue and The One Eyed Ripper Case are tied together with scarf boy as the killer and Monop’s Confession which features the little brother as the killer. The final video, Dead Men Tell No Tales isn’t a song, more of a documentation. It seems to be about the eyepatch boy’s death (which I could be wrong about) and seems like a promotion for the game. 

In addition to this, there are three translated comics about the scarf boy, little brother and the pink haired girl. With the first two more focused on scarf boy and the last one more focused on the little brother. One Eyed Ripper is a story revolving around a girl named Meme Mebuki, who is attacked by a “One Eyed Ripper” in a string of murders. She’s roped into finding the identity of them, as she is the only survivor from the attacks.

characters:

Meme Mebuki (芽吹目々）, the protagonist of the story. she’s the older sister of akihiro, and goes to Yusumi High alongside Haruhiko Tabako and Chifuyu Minowa.

Haruhiko Tabako ( 煙草春彦), friend of Meme. he’s also apparently childhood friends with chifuyu. he’s associated with the season “spring” as confirmed by shitoo, and is also very tall. he’s known for teasing meme and being fairly popular with girls in his class (apparently enough to receive love notes?) however he’s also not very good in school and is apparently currently repeating a year.

Chifuyu Minowa ( 視ノ輪千冬), friend and student counsel president. not much is known about him currently, except that he’s been friends with haruhiko for a long time. he’s associated with winter.

Akihiro Mebuki ( 芽吹アキヒロ), the adoptive younger brother of meme. he’s pretty shy and is usually very polite, but his relationship with haruhiko can be described as the same as mixing hot oil and water (meme even notes he’s only rude towards him) meme’s parents are pretty much at work all day, so she takes care of him and keeps him company a lot. he’s associate with fall/autumn

plot

as described, the main/first song is about meme trying to find out the identity of the culprit at hand. she figures its her brother aki who has recently started acting “weird”, and goes to set him straight only to find out it’s NOT him, and he gets stabbed by the true killer. the true killer, haruhiko, only began killing in order to keep other guys away from her (which led to him also killing chifuyu) and it ends with  that, no clue what happens to meme afterwards. the song is available here, however the translated video went down when hazuki no yumes channel was terminated for copyright. translations should be available if you just google it, since theyre still on the vocaloidlyrics wiki.

subplots

one eyes monologue (song) - this goes in depth about a little bit of haruhiko’s past and him meeting meme, which sparked his yandere tendencies. translations are again, still up on vocaloidlyrics wiki.

monop’s confession (song) - this is about aki’s past, and describes a completely different route in which aki’s the murderer. basically meme’s surrounded by yanderes on two sides, three if chifuyu pulls the same shit. see ya space meme

one eye’s love (comic) - more from haruhikos perspective. its short/doesnt have much plot significance, but the ending of the comic really does make you wonder what happened one eyed ripper murder case [thinking emoji]

[unknown name] (comic) - THIS however, does have a bit of plot significance and shows one of the reasons aki might hate haruhiko for...also jesus christ mdude

one eyed ripper game demo (video) - this gives a bit of facts for all the chars, however this may be obsolete now in terms of plot since shitoo might change from a visual novel to an rpg maker game. 

of course, for more updates on it you should absolutely follow shitoo’s twitter, as well as sub to their youtube (they do livestreams from time to time) as im not very reliable for translations without a proof reader, but i’ll be translating things for this series as often as possible
