Am I losing my mind?

You make me feel crazy. I’ve done the work. I’ve done my time. Years of therapy and endless days of learning to pick the pieces of myself up off the ground, that men like you had so thoughtlessly discarded. Your eyes set me on fire, with a wicked tongue that makes my toes curl, and the kind of smile that threatens to crack my chest open wide open and forget the years I kept the most personal parts of me to myself.

You’re dangerous. You’re public enemy number one. How dare you make me want to fall in love.

I can’t stand it

I can’t stand the anxiety, the dark depths of the unknown that haunt every waking thought, invading even the fleeting ones that used to feel safe behind fluttering eyelids. It’s a weight on your chest, a noose around your neck, the one wrong comment that sends salty warm streaks down puffy cheeks. It’s the self doubt that stops you, the ‘what if’s?’ that consume you. The toxic ex that won’t leave you alone, and always comes back when you finally start doing good.

I don’t know whether to blame my parents, society or destiny. But then again, blaming anyone will only make things better for a few seconds and then I will again feel that unfulfilling and permanent void inside my soul that screams in angry mute echoes for all the wrongs we’ve been put through.
