"PEREGRINE PROJECT"

Born on a family farm in upstate New York, Justin Suarez, aka Aerosol Kingdom, has more than 20 years experience in both fine art and large scale murals. Suarez also works as a licensed bird handler at Wild Wings Animal Sanctuary near Rochester, NY and says the Peregrine Falcon once nested in the midwest but was wiped out by DDT usage by the 1960s. In 2019 Suarez had a solo show at Chicago Truborn Gallery in West Town, and painted this tribute to the work of the Chicago Peregrine Program, founded in 1985 to help reestablish Peregrines in the midwest.

Bronzeville Legends Mural Initiative Wins 2023 Landmarks Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award

The Richard H. Driehaus Preservation Awards honors individuals, organizations, and programs demonstrating a commitment to historic preservation.

I am pleased to announce that our public art initiative, Bronzeville Legends, has won the 2023 Landmarks Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award for Cultural Heritage Preservation.

Bronzeville Legends, launched in 2014, is a curated multi-site placemaking campaign that uses large murals of the South Side community’s past residents to celebrate Bronzeville’s rich heritage.

Other award winners this year include the Old Post Office Chicago Adaptive Reuse Project, the Tribune Tower Renovation and more.

We had the pleasure of painting an abstract graffiti mural for Travelliance, a travel management company for businesses and airlines. They were in search of a mural with bold colors in an abstract style. A piece of art that would bring a wow-factor to their office located just outside of Chicago. They were immediately attracted to the artist Amuse126 we pitched during our consultation. Amuse incorporated the indistinct letters ‘TVL’ to form the abstract mural. Transforming a blank wall to a dynamic, fresh, and raw piece. His artwork now brings a contemporary energy to the space. Employees have something interesting to look at while coordinating logistics and hotel accommodations day after day after day! CHICAGO TRUBORN

Sometimes referred to as the "anti" gallery, @ChicagoTruborn has been supporting street artists since 2011. While they started as a gallery space the last decade has seen Truborn's commitment to making art accessible lead to managing an increasing number of large scale murals. In 2017 Chicago Truborn turned to Dutch artist Eelco van den Berg to paint this mural on the front of their West Town Chicago gallery. Multi-disciplinary artist Eelco says his "psychedelic landscapes" were largely perfected on the streets of New York City where he is honored to have been named one the city's top 10 street artists.
