"Jo” was made as a tribute to Rikiishi by the same author as “Ashita no Joe” who also wrote for Yuuyake Bancho.

HUGE news! - Kodansha Comics has announced they will be releasing the boxing classic Ashita no Joe manga in English! Being released under the title Ashita no Joe: Fighting For Tomorrow, the release will be eight oversized hardcover volumes. Vol 1 is scheduled for December 2024, with a retail price of of $59.95 USD. It will also be available digitally. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the manga's original completion in Japan.

News - Crunchyroll has added the first season of Osamu Dezaki's adaptation of the boxing classic, Tomorrow's Joe (aka Ashita no Joe) to their streaming catalog. The series is available now to watch in in North America, Central America, and South America for paid Premium subscribers to their streaming service. They will also be adding season 2 of the series on December 2, 2024. TMS's official English Youtube channel also has the first 3 episodes of the anime up currently with English subtitles for a limited time.
