hi, just to be clear, does "dont have to ask to adopt" mean anyone can adopt a mini lamia/make an oc? also...can you explain or link me to explain what a cherry coral lamia is?
*Anyone is free to adopt a lamia bitty however they want. It's fine to send in an ask for a matchup or adoption scenario, but it's also totally cool to imagine, write, or draw your own adoption. I also encourage people to customize their lamia bitty or create their own version, including OCs. Fandom is a place for creativity and fun!
*Cherry Corals are Corals who have lost their self-confidence. The Coral who has been in the shop the longest always becomes a Cherry Coral. An abandoned or returned Coral may also become a Cherry Coral.
*Cherry Corals fear being abandoned or never adopted. They fear that they may be unlovable or that something is wrong with them. A Cherry Coral has a high anxiety level and doesn't like to be left alone, but he also constantly fears rejection. Cherry Corals require attentive, patient, and understanding adopters.

[Lamia-Birdy-Bitty Daily life!18]
Hello my lamia lovers how you doing, good I hope! I for sure am having a awesome day! Exciting news to share on so many levels! First off is news on my friend Casey and her boyfriend Roy, they decided to tie the knot! Yes their getting married, I was so happy to hear the news.
But of course due to the issue with Covid no wedding was held but then again thats fine for them cause their not big on the whole ‘wedding party’ thing. Instead they went to the court house, got the papers, signed it and made it official.
Casey called me to see if I was alright and among other things tell me the news. She wished me good health but then they asked me a strange question.
“What do you think we should do now that we’re married?”
Odd question to ask a friend who’s single but then again she’s always asked me questions that have hard answers too cause I think of multiple answers.
I told her “Well have you guys thought about a honeymoon or buying a bigger house?”
She tells me they plan one when they get their vaccines and things start settling down and as for a bigger house they’re happy where they are since they don’t plan on having any kids.
“Well since those are solved how about you get yourself another bitty, another Lamia maybe or different kind of bitty, you know one to keep Zippy company or to join you in your yoga.”
Thats what she was originally thinking of, she told me that Roy has always wanted a Coral/Cherry lamia since he was little. That surprised me a little and I asked her for details on this.
She told me that Roy is a naturally giving person and when he was younger his older sister got herself a mini Coral. His sister is 10 years older then him. So she was 18 an he was only 8, but despite her parents protest and trying to use 8 year old Roy as an excuse, she got herself a Coral. His name was Cuda, named after the type of car his sister liked.
Apparently he loved Cuda just as much as his sister did but as many of us can guess; his sister moved out for collage and to start her own life, thus taking Cuda with. Since then he’s always wanted to get one of his own. The house they live in would support having two full sized lamias like a Coral and Pygmy...I hated to do this but I had to tell her something.
“Um...Casey thats great he wants one and all, but does he know that Pygmy’s and Corals don’t get along sometimes; if not introduced properly. Cherries especially don’t do to well with Pygmy’s cause of their sensitive nature...”
She was confused, so I continued.
“Well, what I’ve learned from Vex is that Cherries need a lot of attention and reassurance. Corals are one thing cause their confident enough to know that even if they share a house with another bitty they’ll still get love from the owner/owners or possibly from other bitties in the home. However Cherries don’t have that confidence and ...well Zippy isn’t the kind to stay and cuddle nor does he respect boundaries at times unless established early on, Cherries also get massively insecure when there are bitties’/lamias who don’t understand their needs. But if your sure you guys want a Cherry take my advice and bring Zippy to Vex’s shop, ask her if there are Cherries that can tolerate Zippy’s hyper nature.”
She asked if there weren’t any that could tolerate Zippy.
I told her this. “Well I suggest getting a Chain or King if your gonna adopt a Cherry. Chains are natural comfort experts who’d give Cherries not only that but their unique soul bonding can help them gain some confidence. Kings are also great protectors and with their energy can easily keep up with Zippy but also keep a sense of order.”
She replied that she’s not a fan of Chains or Kings, she didn’t give a explicit reason but I think that one full-size Kings are too big to fit in her house; similarly for Chains but its more that she’s…intimidated by them. I relayed my earlier suggestion and go to Vex’s shop and see if you can find one. Further more I explained that she needs to have a sit down with Zippy and establish some stern ground rules if they get a Cherry.
We ended our call, wishing her good luck in both her marriage and her finding a Cherry.
[Update!]
Ok I got an update for you guys on Casey an Roy, yes they got a Cherry Coral, full size too. Oh he’s just the cutest thing, they named him Zapper. I laughed and told her that it was either a ZZ Top reference or you just wanted to call them Zip and Zap. She told me it was both.
She told me they took Zippy when they went to the shop, it was cute hearing how Roy gushed over the Cherry Corals. He found one that just bonded to him quickly, now the interaction with Zippy and Zapper was a bit touch and go but before they came to the store they had a sit down with Zippy. They explained and [gently but sternly] explained the do’s and don’t of what to do around his new sibling.
An from what I’ve seen and heard things are going somewhat well, again still touch and go. But once in a while I’m asked to bring Dante or Chip over when Zap needs a break from Zippy.
[Or when Roy is out getting stuff an will be out for more then a few hours.]
Zap really likes Dante but lets face it he’s just smitten with Roy, the two of them have already bonded so much. I’ve gone over to their place and hehe oh my gosh, Roy had Zapper all bundled up like a burrito and was snuggled with him on the couch. If I didn’t know better it was like watching a father and his baby bond while watching TV.
[which they were doing, some random game show]
I’ve seen they even set up different corners or spaces in each room for Zip and Zap, if that ain’t smartest thing I’d ever seen. Heck they have a ‘cool down’ corner in case one of them has a meltdown or needs to have space.
I’m really glad these two found a system for their babies.
[For info on Cherry Corals or Corals in general please speak to @vex-bittys she’ll help you out]

Lamia Bonding #11
Marmalade whined pitifully from his position at the window, watching as Valerie and Lapis got into the van to make a run to the store. He wanted to be right there with his human, protecting her from people getting too close while she was shopping and basking in the grateful happiness that shined from her SOUL. It didn't even matter that he was really too big for the other people to be comfortable with him around so long as he got to keep his human happy. Even Sangria was miffed that she had left them behind but at least the Mamba was tasked with guarding the property since Marmalade was mourning the loss of his human.
He whined again, listlessly pawing at the window while she waved and drove off. Why couldn't he be a bitty lamia? Then he would be able to tag along and protect her. Lapis wouldn't even do as good a job!
Val wasn't going to be able to escape his cuddling when she returned, that he promised himself.
"Honestly," Sangria huffed, grabbing Marmalade by the fluff of his hood and hauling him away from the window. "You act like our human isn't coming back!"
"She has anxiety, milord," Marmalade complained. "I should be protecting her."
Again, Sangria released a careful breath and dragged the Chain further from the window. They were perfectly capable of spending time by themselves! Valerie had tasked him with guarding the property and keeping the other lamia out of trouble while she took the miniature prankster with her for the shopping trip. He didn't particularly like that she didn't take them with her but he understood that they were a handful. Perhaps he was even more understanding than Marmalade was, and that was saying something.
Mamba were not known for magnanimous thinking!
Even though Marmalade seemed to be taking it the worst he was nothing compared to Currant. The Coral was huddled in Val's bed, hidden amongst a large number of blankets, and the sound of his sobs tore at even a hardened Mamba's SOUL. Marmalade was depressed he couldn't go but Currant was absolutely broken about it. Obviously, Val had never left them alone in the house without the option to seek her out when they wanted.
This was not going to deter Sangria! He would keep everything in order until she returned.
His decision held up for the first two hours. After the two-hour mark, he joined Marmalade in checking the window for the van coming up the dirt road, getting more and more anxious the longer she was gone. Currant was inconsolable and Marmalade was quickly approaching that level. Sangria refused to admit that he wanted Valerie to hurry home, that everyone would need to get in line for a chance to get her away from his coils!
After two and a half hours, he heard the sound of the van and Sangria darted from the house as soon as the noise stopped. He was joined by Currant and Marmalade, the three of them clamoring about the van until they got their phalanges hooked into the sweater Valerie was wearing. Currant wailed into her shoulder and the sound was so jarring that Marmalade and Sangria backed off.
That sounded too close to a Cherry Coral for comfort...
Currant had been terrified when he realized that Valerie was leaving and he couldn't go. He wanted to tell her that he would go, that he was small enough not to be threatening and he wouldn't bite anyone (he would promise), but the words didn't come out. He'd remained silent as she left and then his SOUL had twisted up in his ribcage and nothing felt right anymore. What if she didn't come back? Nobody would want an abandoned Coral!
The moment he had her in his clutches he cried, feeling absolutely horrible and wanting to apologize but not knowing how to get the words out. He hiccuped and smeared red magic tears all over her neck. Currant promised that he wouldn't drive her off, he'd be better.
"Oh, little gem," she cooed, bundling him close and allowing him to coil around her. "You're perfect. There's nothing wrong with you."
It took a lot of praise and cuddles before he was properly consoled, exhausted by his crying and allowing Valerie to carry him. Being apart had been hard on her as well and seeing how upset Currant was had made her anxiety skyrocket.
While she was taking care of Currant, Sangria and Marmalade had made sure everything was put away. They couldn't wait any longer, however, and were upon her as soon as she sat down. Coils upon coils held her prisoner and two boney nose ridges were pressed on either side of her head. What followed was the most aggressive cuddle session as they all scented her within an inch of her sanity.
Not even poor Lapis escaped the nuzzling, trapped against Marmalade's cheek and only squeaking in mild protest.

I had this mental image a long, long time ago (that of the Cornys being treated like sausages by a Papython dressed in an apron and chef's hat) and this exact passage written several and several months ago.
The story just didn't develop (I only had that stretch in mind and nothing else) until today. I just sat and wrote it. Without any planning! It just flowed from the mind to the keyboard.
(And there is proof that stories have a life of their own and want to be told)
So there it is. A small snippet of what I imagine to be one day at the Vex adoption store.
Thank you @vex-bittys for creating such a fun universe and allowing us to play with it!
Summary: It was a beautiful sunny day at Vex's Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center and Clinic
It was a beautiful sunny day at Vex's Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center and Clinic.
After several days locked up due to the rains, the dark clouds had finally dispersed and the lamias could go out and enjoy the sun. And enjoy they would.
The Kings had already gone out with some Papythons to check the back garden and see how the plants had fared and the possible care they would have to give to the flower beds.
The Pygmys left next. They spread out quickly, happy to have more space for their zooms. In a short time they entered a friendly competition to see who could go faster and dodge the largest number of remaining pools of water (needless to say that in their excitement many forgot that they should dodge and soon it was confusing even for them if the competition was for deflect or pass through as many puddles as possible).
Even Edgar had taken advantage and taken the current clutcher for some fresh air. He set up a small children's pool with Waffle's help and watched with affection the young Kraits gliding in the few inches of water inside.
The day was heating up fast, so he didn't care about the gentle breeze blowing, but even if the heat of the sun wasn't enough, the Kraits' counterpart, a group of FireRing puppies (all huddled safely in the older skeleton, and away from spatter caused by his brothers) they pleasantly warmed the air (a little uncomfortable for the feathered skeleton that carried them, but what was a little discomfort to see the happy faces and hear the chirps of the babes?) and protect the lamias more delicate.
His son Quetzl, a rare winged Papython hybrid, is happily strolling through the garden, avoiding the puddles and wandering Pygmys, happy to just be outdoors and be able to spread his wings after the last few days confined.
But not all lamias were enjoying their “new freedom” from the prison of bad weather outdoors. Some preferred to stay inside, enjoying the sun from a drier and more comfortable place.
This was the case with the Mambas who had gathered in front of one of the store's large front windows, dragging soft cushions and positioning themselves in them as a particularly expensive display of jewelry. They enjoyed the sun safely, away from possible puddles of cold water or mud (the mud could be beneficial to the skin they had read, but after a bad experience with worms trapped in rib cages, they all agreed that it was better to try the muds the type that came in cosmetic pots and not the natural one found in gardens).
They took turns in positions that were not always practical, but that always captured the sun's rays perfectly to make their well-polished scales shine.
In the other window a large barbecue grill had been set up and a full size Papython with an apron and a chef's hat turned over, with the help of a silicone spatula, several Cornys that slept on the grill. Below them, at the bottom of the grill, a group of miniature FireRings rested, enjoying the sun without worrying about the dangers of water splashing by Pygmys aimlessly and giving the illusion that the barbecue grill was really burning (that in a way, it really was).
The fact that they were being heated, both above by the sun, and below by the fire lamias (which perfectly regulated their temperature so as not to burn or overwhelm their friends above or themselves), made the blue noodles purr with satisfaction (more than one with a noise very similar to hot fat sizzling on the coals).
Above them, in a corner of the window, someone had attached a poster that could be read outside the store:
“Hot Corny free!”
"Adopt before they pop!"
Surrounded by drawings of smiling blue corncobs.
The ad should be working because one of the small noodles had already found an owner (who had received it nestled in a hot dog bun and a pun: "Sorry kid, but there is no more spice for extra accompaniments").
The skelepuppers, Honey and Poff had also left early, accompanying a small group of Corals who were going to explore the garden to see if there was anything interesting brought by the winds, or dug up by the rain, to be added to their treasures.
The Corals, of course, made it clear that THEY were accompanying the young to supervise them on their adventures (and if they secretly expected some praise and pats as rewards for their work, nobody really needed to know).
The puppies spent a few hours exploring the garden with the other bittys and after a while they rushed in to offer Vex a beautiful flower each, who would have been even happier with the presents had the pups not left a trail of muddy paws behind .
While Waffle took two squirming puppies for a bath, Vex cleaned up the dirt left by them. The Kraits were subsequently summoned and with their abilitys they set up a kind of cleaning station, almost a jetty for bittys, at the entrance for when the other residents decided to go back inside (Of course, those who used it most ended up being the Kraits themselves who could not resist an experience with water and bubbles. They said it was all a quality test, but they didn't even cheat the baby Butter).
Belle and her gang had also left and with mud war paintings and flower “helmets” they had ambushed one of the flowerbeds, leaping over a full-sized King who had inflated his hood of true fright at first, but soon entered a the kidding and let himself be “captured” by the smaller lamias.
Upon hearing the commotion some Chains had appeared worried and now watched amused the dramatic King lying on the floor regretting his luck while Belle, the leader of the Commanders, stood on her ribcage and proclaimed her defense to the kingdom of weeds against the cruel giants that plucked them. Some other Kings looked somewhat divided between laughter and concern (of being the next targets).
Lieutenant Cherry, Belle's right-hand man, watched everything from a strategic point on a fence that bordered a flower bed, gave the alert of enemy attack when a group of Pygmys came together and charged against Belle's troops in defense of the giant friend (who was beginning to realize that him would probably be lying on the floor for some time).
Soon there were mud and small, harmless bone attacks flying through the garden while the two “armies” clashed under the watchful eyes of the rest of the “gardeners” and the fans composed of the Chains, the babys (that Edgar had to control so they could just watch and not run to play. Although the attacks are harmless he didn’t want to risk any of them being run over by some more distracted adult) and the Corals who stopped looking for treasure and started watching with interest, offering some not so innocent advice and incentives (quickly silenced by a fierce look from Edgar who did not need impressionable young people to learn such language).
As the garden turned into a small war field, the Honeys Bo finally woke up and emerged from their warm nests to discover that the dark clouds were gone. They looked a little cross-eyed at the bright sky and the floating white clouds and with smiles of satisfaction packed their things and went to the front of the store, spreading out in the entrance with their mp3's. Soon they were dozing again, lulled by the lazy movement of the clouds and their soundtracks of choice.
Chains had spread throughout the store and beyond. Some had gone out and scanned the surroundings (to see if there were any bitty nearby who had had a problem with the rains and maybe slip in their soul bonds, who knows?), or around the house to check if there was any damage. These were later attracted to the Commanders' war cries and now watched the battle with amusement.
Some of those who went to look around the neighborhood came back a while later, alone or accompanied by some Chain that had not been able to reach the store before because of the rain, or some Bitty who was injured or had his nest/den damaged by bad weather and were temporarily homeless (and at least one dragging an adopter to sign the adoption papers while his soul shone with the new bond).
Those who stayed in the store spread out to help the other lamias or Vex herself by temporarily taking over the reception while it cleaned up the mess of messy, but good-hearted, puppies. They even guiding one or another adopter or visitor through the store (and more from one to the bathroom to clean up when they decided to take a look at the back garden and was hit by a stray mud missile).
A group joined the Honeys Bo at the front, hoping to feel their soul's call by a passerby and at least three thanked Vex and other lamias and left the store shelter to begin or resume their travels in search of their Soulbonds.
Vex, after cleaning the dirt and arranging a small vase for the two flowers given as a gift, went to check on Waflle with the puppies, leaving the reception with a Chain that was talking to a visitor and inviting him to take a look at the Mambas (almost like a salesman persuading a customer to take a look at a pair of diamond earrings from an exclusive line).
She went to look at the bathroom, but didn't find them there. Passing the kitchen she heard a commotion and decided to take a peek inside.
The skelepuppers were sitting at the end of a table, each equipped with a wooden spoon that they scraped in a large bowl between them. Baby Butter was further back with his own wooden spoon and his face and little hands all soiled with the contents of the bowl.
Waffle watched them fondly and with a little frustration. He had just bathed the two puppies (a task not so easy) and although the two managed to keep the dirt restricted to the face (nothing that a damp cloth would not solve) the same could not be said of his son who had smeared himself whole. Apparently today would be his day to bathe messy puppies.
Syrup was in its place at the top of Waffle's skull, and although, from time to time he turned and looked at his son with pure love, he was more focused on the rest of the kitchen leaving the watchman / baba service to his companion.
The Mamba watched the Papythons prepare the meals of the day, giving occasional orders and handing out tasks like a tiny Gordon Ramsay (but without the name-calling).
He had taken refuge in the kitchen with Butter early, the promise of treats being the best tactic to keep a child well-behaved and indoors (Butter was a very good puppy, but still a puppy and a much bigger one than Syrup, which sometimes made it a little difficult to control. Nothing that an incredible Mamba and an even better father couldn’t handle. But even Syrup had to admit that preventing a child, no matter how well behaved, and who had passed the last few days trapped between four walls, do not run outside and immediately throw yourself into puddles, it was a big challenge to be done without some dirty/sweet tactics).
But as soon as he entered the kitchen, and saw the larger lamias at work, he couldn't help but notice that the Papythons (even though they were very hardworking and competent in their jobs) urgently needed some help. And who would be better to help them than he, a wonderful and super competent Mamba? So he started to command them.
The Papythons were astonished with gratitude (in other words they had no idea how to deal with the little bossy snake and its smiling baby), staring at him paralyzed as he wandered around the kitchen inspecting and giving tips and orders (some half-senseless. They were not cooking no veal and it was certainly celery and not turnips) until the gigantic King appeared, with a grumpy puppy under each arm, and seeing the Papythons' desperate face (who absolutely did not want to be rude to someone who was obviously trying to help) came to the rescue.
Depositing the puppies on the table and helping his son to climb, he leaned over to pick up a bowl with leftover cake dough and whisper to one of the orange lamias that they just worked normally and when Mamba gave an order they just shouted “Yes Chef!". Straightening up, he took the bowl to the chicks and gave each one a spoon.
After that, things flowed like water. Syrup rose to the top of Waffle's skull and with a privileged view began to dictate more and more orders. The Papytons just shouted their agreement and continued to work normally (although some of the commands like: “Stir this soup more willingly!” and “Watch the egg point!” were really followed) little Mamba was swelling with pride when see everyone working so diligently under your command.
Waffle just delighted in the pleasure of his little love and the contentment of his son and puppies with his makeshift snack.
Vex watched in amusement for a few minutes. Syrup when he noticed Vex, shouted that the food would be ready in 5 minutes, while a Papython in the background made a movement with his hand indicating that it would take longer than the five minutes predicted by Mamba. She left them after that and went back to the reception, just in time to take a call about an old adopter wanting to pay a visit later and maybe get a new mate.
Before long, she would go to the back garden and give a "cease fire" when announcing lunch. The fighters would go through the car wash to get in and eat.
Edgar would collect the babys (letting the Kraits babies enter the car wash accompanied by adult Kraits. Not that they needed it, but it would be a good experience for the little ones to see what kinds of things they would be able to do, and more, as adults) and also would enter.
The Chains would enter, or the Papythons would take the lunches to them and the Honeys Bo and take the opportunity to have lunch under the sky, forming in a mixture of various warm and inviting shades of orangein front of the store.
The Mambas will take a break from their show and the Cornys... well they will continue to sleep, but they will still eat (somehow) their meals. Papython "cook" will remove the FireRings from the bottom of the grill and they will have lunch by the pool with the Kraits while these tell how their newest invention works.
Later on, there will be new visitors and potential adopters. The Corals will polish their new treasures and perhaps some will find their way, unconsciously, to the nest of some other lamia (and hopefully, the hands of some adopter).
When the afternoon progresses, and the weather gets a little cool, the Honeys Bo and the Chains will come in and seek the warmth of their nests or a companion for an afternoon nap. It may be that new Chains appear and others leave, being attracted by a mysterious and insistent pull on their souls.
The Pygmys will play with their hunting toys and may be able to convince some Mambas and even some Kings to join together (the Kings throwing the toys for the Pygmys to catch and the Mambas to attack).
The Commanders will gather in their nest, plotting new battle plans while Cherry takes inventory of their spoils of war (a toy mouse washed but still stained with mud, 2 snail shells, several helmets half shattered and already withering, a bag of seeds, some candy wrappers and several paper clips that they picked up on the way back to the nest).
The Cornys will return under the anti-poison refrigerator (or more precisely, they will be replaced by the helpful Papython who had taken them out that morning) where the Grillbitty (who had spent the day at the bottom of the kitchen oven, sleeping in perfect peace and quiet thanks to the comfortable and soothing noise from the oven flames. He loves his companions Corny, he really does, but even he needs a break from all the snoring, puns and fart pads every now and then and with everyone trapped in the same space for the past few days, he more that he needed some time alone and in silence) awaits you with his warm welcome.
Perhaps more at night, when the last visitor leaves and the store closes, Vex will go to the recreation room and put on a movie to watch. Honey and Poff will curl up on each side, while the Papythons distribute soft blankets and hot chocolate to the lamias who decide to join them.
Or maybe she reads a little while the wind is blowing outside. The Kings curled around her listening intently, their hoods vibrating softly to suppress the excitement with the story or the new word learned.
Edgar, with Quetzl wrapped around his neck, can bring the babies, who will sleep before the end of the story, but until then they will hear ecstatic and thirsty to absorb more about the world, real or imagined, contained in the pages.
Regardless of what she chooses, Waffle will sit with your baby in your arms and your love around and enjoy the peaceful night and the pure happiness of being with those she loves. He and Syrup will watch the baby Butter coo for colorful figures on TV or let out occasional “Mwah!” at strategic moments in history.
But this is later, for now Vex welcomes a new adopter, listening carefully to be able to help them find the best lamia companion possible.
It's just another day like so many others in the store. The sun is shining outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming and bittys are up and having fun. On days like this, Vex is sure that many of his dear noodles will find a good home and a happy family, and even those who not (by choice or because it was not yet time), they will always have a safe place in the store and good friends to share.
A welcoming home and a loving family was what Vex's Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center and Clinic really was.

Calvin finally smiled as he answered Élodie's question. "Yes, I think I have found something. I will take this ugly little Cherry Coral with no scales, a plastic container to take it home in, and... Hmmm. Do you have a small whip of some kind, appropriate for a lamia this size? The bitty and I have agreed that any instances of crying, making nasty messes, or begging for attention will end in punishment, and I wouldn't want to break that agreement."
Elodie searched for a reply. “Well, we have the usual shock/choke collars, You can register orders on the shock collar using the free app so you don’t have to use the remote everytime, it’s nice. And... Yes! Some of our leashes are convertible as whips, We have spiked ones, the fancy breaded ones can be turned into cat o’ nine tails whips,” She started. “We also sell some pills that can cause violent hallucinations, although they weren’t meant to be used as a punishment at first.” Those were meant to do the same effect that catnip did to cats, but all the bittys that tested it ended up making a very bad trip. While speaking, she prepared the container. The small lamia had managed to stay still during the whole speech, but its orbits were openly tearing. To its merit, it did not sobbed once. Elodie still had a hard time un-clinging it from her forearm while putting it in the box, and that reminded her of bad memories with a bubblegum bitty.
“I’m quite impressed that you’ve managed to make a cherry coral want to stop crying.” She said with a smile. “You have a secret for that?” A small, uncontrolled, whimper was heard from the now closed plastic box. Aw, cherry corals weren’t very fond of darkness. Speaking of which... She closed the drawer, getting a whole lot of pleading and crying while doing so. “Do you need anything for your toy, punishment excepted? Kibbles, clothes, something to deal with the heats?” She asked you to follow her to the part of the store that held the items, giving you the plastic box to hold.

Hello! I’ve got a few things for your new cherry coral. *brings out a bag of pretty stones and beads*
*Fire is received warmly to the shop, the mention of bringing some thing for the new Cherry Coral gets the baby bones all riled up!
They chatter and wave from their room, causing the caretakers to make way for the human as she brings the bag of pretty stones and beads for the newest member, Aziz the Cherry Coral
The Beloved Big Brother Cherry gets teary seeing the gift that was brought for him, especially somethings that were so beautiful, sobbing a thank you as the babybones pet him and let him open the bag, surrounding him in a mosaic of the pretty stones as they sparkle around him, the older children bitties calling him a precious treasure as he’s hugged and loved by the many, Fire receiving deep thanks and hugs from the babies whom were more than thrilled having the Beloved Lamia get gifts just like he deserves!*

A single shiny gem is tossed from an unknown direction, it tumbles around for a bit before stopping near the corals area. Faint snickering can be heard, followed by the clacking of bony feet running away.
*Little skulls with gold fangs pop up from every available nest, sharp red eyelights trained on the shiny gem with laser focus. No Coral moves though. It would be extremely un-Coral-like to seem interested in the gem. Each striped lamia plots his approach. Slithering past the gem? Obviously. Feign disinterest? Of course. Absorb the desired object into one's pocket when nobody is looking? Naturally!
*Unfortunately, it takes the Corals a bit too long to launch their plan of attack. A curious Lieutenant Cherry has darted out of his nest and gathered up the shiny gem to give to Belle, the leader of the Commander gang. None of the Corals would dare to bully Lieutenant Cherry or steal from Belle. There will be other shinies, and other days to swipe them without appearing to care about swiping them.

My wonderful sweet bitty lamia boys adopted from @vex-bittys lamia adoption place, they are Cherry Cola the Cherry Coral (underfell sans, cherry type), Banana Sundae the Papython (classic papyrus) and Leonardo Guacamole the Chain (fellswap papyrus).
All three of them are close friends and bondmates which I think means their souls have a connection (but doesn’t necessarily involve a romantic relationship, everything is platonic here).
Cherry Cola is a Coral bitty (underfell sans), specifically a Cherry variation which can happen if a Coral bitty doesn’t get adopted after a long time so they start developing severe anxiety and self worth issues.
Leonardo Guacamole is a Chain bitty (fellswap papyrus) which naturally act protectively both of their owners and of other bitties. Leo acts basically as Cherry’s guardian/caretaker/therapist.
Banana Sundae is a Papython (classic papyrus) which are the mother hens of the lamia bitties, being the ones to keep things clean and organized. Cherry and Leo often suffer separation anxiety while I’m at work or school so Banana is very helpful in trying to keep them from freaking out.

The Gävle Goat: Lamia Bittybones Edition
The concept of a Yule Goat, like so many other human holiday traditions, was lost on the lamia bittybones. The snake-skeleton hybrids gladly honored annual feasting days (be it candy or turkey), skeleton themed celebrations (sugar skulls!), and gift giving holidays (who doesn't love gifts?) This year, however, they have discovered the human holiday tradition of arson, just in time for Valentine's Day!
The Pygmies, being law-abiding citizens, elected to build the Valentine's Goat. The Mambas, who thrive on destruction, took charge of annihilating it. Using their expert building skills, a pony-sized goat was lovingly woven in a place of honor the center of the bitty shop to await its possible demise.
Loyal Honey Bos and Chains joined their brothers' teams. Corals actually showed interest in tearing something apart, and the Kings couldn't pass up an opportunity to show their hunting prowess. Even the FireRings opted to commit the arson since the materials used to build the goat were organic and flammable.
Pacifist Kraits and gentle Papythons joined the Goat Guard to protect the Valentine's Goat from harm. Cornies proclaimed the goat (sculpture) to be the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), and named it G. G.
One would think that a straw goat wouldn't last long in a shop full of magic-wielding bitties bent on its destruction, but every time a King or Mamba got within striking distance of G. G. they found that it wasn't where it appeared to be. Corals and Chains attempted to teleport onto the sculpture, but always found themselves landing a few inches short. Fireballs lobbed at the goat deflected harmlessly into the Krait play pools.
No matter how hard they tried, Team Mamba could not overcome the Void-fueled time-space paradox created around G. G. Edgar had slightly more luck when he let Team Mamba Jr. pummel the goat with tiny ineffective fists before they were bravely "fought off" by Team Pygmy Jr. leaving the goat uninjured.
After three harrowing days, the lamias in the bitty shop awakened to find that G. G. had vanished during the night. A trail of straw led to the Commander den where Belle, Lieutenant Cherry, and the Commander gang reside. Those who dare to peek inside might even spot G. G. adorned in fairy lights and living her best life with a retinue of fierce guardians.

Hi vex, I'm putting in a request for an adoption scenario for a Coral (or Cherry) Lamia match-up please. I do want to let you know that I have a full-size Chain named Wilhelm in our home already who I'll be bringing to the adoption as he helps with my anxiety attacks when I'm around too many people at once. Otherwise I'm a quiet 30ish female who enjoys spending her days sewing, crocheting, cross-stitch, reading & cuddling. I also sometimes take walks along the trails in the forest near my home.
*With Wilhelm the Chain by your side, you are ready to find a special lamia bitty to adopt. Thanks to Wilhelm's support, you've even approached Miss Vex to ask about adopting a Coral or Cherry Coral. She let you know that there's a Cherry Coral in the shop, but it takes time to earn his trust enough to adopt him.
*You discuss the situation with Wilhelm and decide to give it a try. Mission: Cherry Coral commences! You start by finding some crocheting supplies in the meet and greet room. You settle down and begin working on a blanket using soft textured yarn. Vex brings the Cherry Coral into the room, and makes a beeline to the yarn to curl up and hide.
*You visit the shop each day to work on the blanket, and each day the Cherry Coral comes in to hide in the yarn you're working in. At first he seems wary of you and Wilhelm, but after awhile he relaxes. One day you arrive later than usual and see the Cherry Coral waiting forlornly near your usual bean bag chair. As soon as you situate your supplies, he darts into his soft yarn nest.
*It isn't long before the soft crocheted blanket is complete. As you finish the border and set the end of the blanket down, you can clearly see a Cherry Coral sized lump in the middle. You lift the edge of the blanket, and you see him, trembling and looking up at you with hopeful eyes. You tell him that you're going to take the blanket home and that he's welcome to come too. You cover him back up so that he can consider the offer in peace.
*When you pick up the blanket, the lump is still there… and you're pretty sure it's purring.

well, now i need to see a chain and cherry coral try to take care of each other after their owner passes away
Letting Go, Holding On
A companion to this story
Warning: character death, injury (mention)
Things can change in an instant. Even an otherwise unremarkable event can change the lives it touches forever, and those outside of its influence go on without even noticing that anything is different. Someone slipped on a flight of steps, then an ambulance came and took them away, ending their story in the eyes of the bystanders. Nobody considered the outcome… nobody except for their lamias.
The Chain felt it the moment it happened: terror, pain, and then a hazy confusion. Their other lamia, a Cherry Coral, worried about leaving the house, but when offered the choice between staying behind alone and following the Chain, he opted to tag along. He trusted the Chain to find their adopter quicker than waiting for an emergency contact to think about finding their lamias and bringing them to the hospital.
The two lamias took turns teleporting to travel faster; the Chain swiveled his head back and forth before choosing a direction, like a compass returning to true north after being shaken. The pair teleported into the hospital emergency room without bothering with the front desk. They didn’t have time to answer questions or risk being turned away because they weren’t human. Their adopter needed them.
Massive double doors labeled “Operating Room” finally stopped the Chain and Cherry Coral’s forward charge. The pair didn’t dare risk startling a doctor who wielded sharp instruments so close to their adopter. Instead, they found a waiting area and put it to good use, waiting. The Cherry Coral kept glancing at the Chain, but the SOUL bound lamia wore a troubled expression that discouraged conversation.
At long last, the double doors opened, and nurses wheeled a hospital bed out of the operating room. Their adopter looked so small and fragile lying motionless on the enormous bed, a bevy of machines being wheeled along after them. One of the nurses spotted the two lamias and called out to the others to wait. He asked them if this was their owner as they slithered over, and the Chain nodded. Without another word, the nurse picked them up and placed them on the bed alongside their adopter, and all three were taken to a private room.
Their adopter stayed completely still, lost in peaceful unconsciousness.
A doctor stopped by later in the evening to check on the patient. When she discovered the lamias in the room with their adopter, she explained the severity of the injury, trying to be as gentle as possible but refusing to tell them comforting lies. Their adopter would likely never awaken from the induced coma they’d been placed in. Unsurprised by the news, the Chain simply maintained his bedside vigil, monitoring their condition through the SOUL bond.
The Cherry Coral wailed, and the Chain didn’t have the heart to stop him. He couldn’t escape the truth. It pulsed in his SOUL with every mechanically assisted breath that their adopter took.
His SOULbond was not going to survive much longer. Their SOUL lingered because of the strength of the bond, but the Chain could feel it gradually slipping away. He didn’t need a doctor to tell him that, or the frantic chorus of alarms from the various monitors that impassively tracked his adopter’s vital signs. The Cherry Coral’s panicked cries rang out above the cacophony, reminding the Chain of his promise.
It had seemed like such a small thing at the time. His adopter wanted him to take care of his Cherry Coral brother if something happened to them. The words of the promise were spoken without a thought, a promise for some vague, far away future that couldn’t possibly exist in the bright, joyous light of the here and now, but the here and now had arrived. Here. Now.
As much as he wanted to lay down, press himself against his SOULbond, and crumble to dust as his own SOUL followed theirs beyond the physical realm, he could not. It hurt, the moment when the bond, pulled taut as life and death separated their two SOULs, snapped. The backlash cracked his SOUL, but the determination within him to fulfill his promise held the pieces together.
Reaching out, he pulled the screeching Cherry Coral close, moving aside for the nurses and doctors who rushed into the room in an attempt to reverse their adopter’s fate, though their resuscitation efforts were all in vain. At first the Cherry Coral clawed at him, blinded by fear and sadness, but the Chain held tight until those wild emotions settled. The Cherry Coral clung to the larger lamia, sobbing, and the Chain gently rocked him as grief consumed them both.
Slowly, tentatively, tiny tendrils unfurled from the Cherry Coral’s SOUL. The tendrils drifted from the Cherry Coral to the Chain that comforted him. Those tendrils wrapped around the Chain’s broken SOUL, filling the cracks and holding the SOUL together. As the tears that the two lamias shed for their adopter mingled and fell to the spotless tiled floor, a thin strand, barely there at all, emerged from the Chain’s SOUL and entwined with the Cherry Coral’s.
They would survive this tragedy.
They would go on.
Together.

How many Cherry Corals do you currently have in the shop?
*There is always one Cherry Coral in the shop at all times. A Coral becomes a Cherry Coral when he has been in the shop the longest without being adopted. He begins to doubt his worth and fears that nobody will ever want him. Once he finds a home, the oldest Coral still remaining in the shop begins to show those Cherry Coral tendencies. It is a side effect of their tsundere nature, always craving love but unable to outright ask for it.
*We do sometimes have returned Corals who become Cherry Corals. When a Coral is returned to the shop, he fears that he is somehow unlovable. This causes the transformation into a Cherry Coral. These Cherry Corals often have more trouble finding a new home than those raised in the shop. They have already found a home and been returned, and they will always have that in the back of their minds.

*Liam actually got adopted by @mylesjayalltheway and is living happily in Myles’ home with his very close friend Velvet the rescued Chain. You can read his adoption here.
*Whenever we have a special bitty (usually from an ask or drabble) in the shop, that bitty is adopted to the first person to ask for them. I try to be fair, but there was only one Liam! If you’re interested though, there are other Cherry Corals in the shop, and you can even request that your adoption feature a rescue scenario!

A fashionable woman with a king and a coral intertwined around her neck enters looking for a baby brother for her sweet boys , probably a chery as they both love to fuss and care for others or any other bitty that would enjoy pampering
*Vex smiles as soon as she catches sight of the fashionable woman’s living lamia necklace. The lamias look very happy and well cared for, so when the woman requests a Cherry Coral bitty to fuss over, Vex doesn’t hesitate with her recommendation. A Cherry Coral has recently arrived a the shop. He’s not a Cherry Coral because he wasn’t adopted or because he was returned. This Cherry Coral came from a home where he was constantly belittled and yelled at. He definitely needs a home where he can feel safe and loved.
*Vex shows the woman the Cherry Coral’s little enclosed nest. It takes some time for her to coax the frightened little Cherry Coral out to meet the woman and her two lamias, but Vex hopes that seeing two very loved lamias might encourage him to give finding a home another chance. The woman lets her King and Coral slither down to meet the Cherry Coral who trembles in fear. She and Vex stay quiet, knowing that the little guy is likely sensitive to raised voices.
*Surprisingly, the woman’s Coral makes the first move. He slithers up to the Cherry Coral and lays one gentle hand on him. He hisses something soft and comforting to the frightened lamia. The Cherry Coral leans into him, and the Coral hugs him tight. The King slithers forward and curls himself protectively around both of them. He keeps hissing “ssssafe now” over and over in low soothing tones. The presence of the two lamias has calmed him a great deal.
*Speaking in a soft voice, the woman tells the Cherry Coral that her two lamias would very much like to add him to their family. That her King and Coral will keep him safe and make sure he’s always happy. The two lamias nod along to each statement, reassuring their new friend. He clings to them, and Vex brings the woman some paperwork to fill out. As the Cherry Coral leaves the shop, pressed securely between his two new brothers, she can see that his trembling has subsided.
