hiya.
First impression of Wu Youxuan: nothing.
This is what Chen Liwei thinks of most of his classmates. Log down the name, remember the face, pick out their impressions toward him --- hostile, neutral, favorable --- and save it for later. ‘Wu Youxuan’ settles firmly into the neutral category and then Chen Liwei forgets about his existence the rest of the time.
Until he doesn’t.
The thing is, Wu Youxuan genuinely thinks that Chen Liwei is going to kill him.
It’s a little special, considering that nobody ever thinks he’s serious when he says he’s going to beat people up. He does it, and there’s this shock of “wow, the school grass is so much more powerful/domineering than we thought”, before it all goes back to the status quo of “surely a little white face like him couldn’t really put up a fight and everyone else who tried were just weaklings and/or we just had a bad day and we’ll definitely get him next time.”
It isn’t like Chen Liwei is invincible, but he’s certainly better than their expectations of him. He surprises them every time. Even if it’s the same people he’s fighting.
Memory of a fucking goldfish.
And then there’s Wu Youxuan, who, despite the fact that Chen Liwei has barely even shared the same airspace as him, is overwhelmingly convinced that Chen Liwei will beat him down into mincemeat.
Admittedly, yeah, at one point, Chen Liwei was absolutely going to do that. But first of all: that was a misunderstanding. Second of all, Chen Liwei honestly thought that Wu Youxuan was going to forget, because that’s what happens every fucking time Chen Liwei tries to make threats. It’s just “haha, you wouldn’t really” or “do you really think something like you could ever do anything” or “nice joke! I didn’t know you could make jokes!”
No one ever fucking takes him seriously.
Except, for some reason, Wu Youxuan.
Wu Youxuan is afraid, and Chen Liwei isn’t ashamed to say that he likes it.
Hey. He’s never claimed to be a good person. School forum gossip that he’ll soften if the right girl comes to tame him? That he might be a jerk, but deep inside, he’s got a heart of gold? Lies. He’s jerk all the way down.
Chen Liwei demands unreasonable things from Wu Youxuan, and Wu Youxuan keeps giving them to him. What, as if he thought it was perfectly normal to ask some random classmate to help him beat up other people? Like Chen Liwei is that far removed from regular social etiquette? Come on.
Is this what it’s like to be Qi Mingtao? Shit, he might understand why that guy goes on power trips so often, then. This is fun.
Chen Liwei doesn’t really expect Wu Youxuan to stay afraid. Chen Liwei isn’t so unreasonable that he’ll try to keep him that way. It’s not like he hates Wu Youxuan enough for that. So Chen Liwei keeps making threats, and he keeps not following through on them, and if it were Chen Liwei dealing with this kind of behavior, he’d figure out the pattern and then fuck off.
Except Wu Youxuan doesn’t do that.
“I’m not actually going to beat you up if you don’t listen to me,” Chen Liwei outright says.
“Fuck off,” Wu Youxuan says. He’s still swinging that baseball bat that Chen Liwei gave him, proper form and only getting more proper. Getting better, getting stronger, like Chen Liwei wanted him to, and that’s the thing: why is he still doing what Chen Liwei wants?
Even after all of this, even after Wu Youxuan’s grown a spine, he still gives into whatever unreasonable thing Chen Liwei demands of him. Isn’t that something.
“Are you just used to listening to me by now?” Chen Liwei says. “Fucking weirdo.”
Wu Youxuan glares up at him. “I,” he says, almost over-enunciating the word, “am going to beat your face in.”
It’s a threat. In general, Chen Liwei can’t even remember how many times he’s been threatened. This sort of thing happens everyday, and it usually only pisses him off.
Chen Liwei surprises himself when he ends up laughing instead.
Fucking hell, is this what it’s like being in a good mood? He hasn’t had one of those in a while.
“You,” Chen Liwei says, grin still pulling weirdly at his face, “are going to have to try harder than that.”

Nome terreno: Liwei Wang. Nome mitológico: Euadne. Faceclaim: Darren Chen, ator (kuanhung_ on IG). Nascimento: 15 de Janeiro de 1995. Naturalidade: Roma, Itália.
Ser: Semi-deus, filho de Atena. Nível: 2 Dormitório: Andromeda - 10
Twitter: @euadne_olp. Ocupação: Barista do Garden Cafe (turno 1).
Qualidades: Carinhoso, leal e sensível. Defeitos: Indeciso, orgulhoso e rancoroso. Plots de interesse: fluff, general, crack.
Biografia:
A história do lugar o prendia, adorava.

War God: A Compendium
Figured I have to finally make a post for A War God From Another World so that readers (mainly *I*) aren't going crazy with all the worldbuilding that's just become a monster to manage. This will get updated as the fic progresses (since I'm already brainstorming for the next major arc lol).
Cang Qiong
*Note: the previous generation of peak lords use 心 ("heart") for their titles.
Qing Jing Peak Lord - Jiang Xinqin - 蔣心琴 ("zither")
Bai Zhan Peak Lord - Wang Xinying - 王心櫻 ("cherry")
Qian Cao Peak Lord - Zhou Xinbei - 周心北 (“north")
Qiong Ding Peak Lord - Huang Xinwen - 黃心文 ("literature")
An Ding Peak Lord - Han Xinjing - 韓心精 (“refined")
Liu Qingge - Liu Kang* - 柳康 ("peaceful/healthy/bountiful")
Shang Qinghua - Shang Zhen - 尚真 ("genuine" lol)
Wei Qingwei - Wei Zhixin - 魏志信 ("purpose" and "trust")
Mu Qingfang - Mu Liwei - 木歷維 ("era" and "thought")
Qian He City Arc
Tang Wenzhao - 唐問曌 ("to ask" and "to illuminate/reflect")
Guo Lexin - 郭樂心 ("joyful heart")
Guo Shirong** - 郭实荣 ("truth" and "honorable")
Gongyi Meiyu - 公仪媄宇 (“beautiful” and “universe/roof”)
Tianlang-jun - “Wei Tian” - 魏天 (“sky”)
Other Side Characters
Fan Ping - 範平 ("peaceful")
Chu Zhouyi - 楚周義 ("cycle" and "justice")

Chen Huan’er - 陳焕儿 (“lustrous”)
Location Names
Qian He City - 千河城 (“thousand rivers”)
Jin Hua*** - 金花 (“golden flower”)
Luoyang**** - 洛陽 (“Luo (River)” and “sunny”)
* A bit inspired by Yang Kang (LotCH) in which in that novel, the protagonist Guo Jing and the antagonist Yang Kang were named from a poem referencing the Jingkang Incident (靖), a historical event in the warring period between Jin and Song. Kang is also often coupled with jian in jiankang (健康), meaning “healthy.”
** Guo Shirong hasn’t been named directly in the text yet, but this is the name of the child ghost in the Qian He City arc.
*** LQG’s hometown, which isn’t too far from Huan Hua Palace but still within view of the Tian Gong Mountains.
**** Literally just ripped from Luoyang, the oldest city out of the Four Ancient Capitals. This is the de facto capital city in PIDW, since Airplane did pull some real locations for his worldbuilding (i.e. the Luo River) so therefore I say so because I can’t be bothered to wring the last of my creative juices to name places.
#might feel funky and sketch the peak lords later#svsss#fanfic#a war god from another world#gonna link this to the next chapter once im finished writing and editing#also hiii lol i started fresh w a new blog bc i forgot my old password and figured i might as well start anew w/o the old teenage angst#svsss fanfiction

Young City Experience Pavilion, Foshan
Young City Experience Pavilion, Foshan Interior, Guangdong Commercial Project, Architecture Photos
Young City Experience Pavilion in Foshan
30 Dec 2020
Greentown · Young City Experience Pavilion
Architectural design: 9M Architectural Design Co., Ltd.
Location: Foshan, China
The Greentown · Young City Experience Pavilion project is located within a transit-oriented development (TOD) in Foshan, China. It’s used as the sales center of the development at the early stage and later will serve as a public activity space for the community. For this reason, its interior design needs to incorporate socializing and leisure functions.
Based on the unique transit-oriented planning of the development, the rooftop of the Life Pavilion becomes a part of the community park, which endows it with greenery and landscape. The space is set under the ground and is lower than surrounding roads. Through carving out several openings on the rooftop and inserting landscape into the voids, playful and multi-layer relationships were produced.
QIRAN DESIGN was entrusted to conceive the interior, but the team had been involved in the project design since the architectural design stage. The building design took cues from the image of GM Building and Apple Store at the 5th Avenue, New York, and referred to Steve Jobs’s concept of combining art and technology.
In the interior space, curves link up different areas, visually extend the space and generate a sense of rhythm. The appropriate layout and scale provide the basis for the implicit and explicit expression of spatial landscape.
The ceiling of the property model area appears like a shining ball when viewing it at a distance, which extends upwards to outdoor landscape while highlighting the scene beneath. The skylight brings in air and sunshine, while enabling visitors to feel the difference and interpenetration between interior and outside.
The negotiation area features an open-air sunken courtyard, which introduces natural landscape into the interior and creates a refreshing atmosphere. Through optimizing the network of columns in the original space, the design team created a 37-meter-wide column-free space, and then set negotiation scenes in it, which offers impressive and immersive experiences.
Various functional divisions such as bar, kids’ play area and VIP rooms are set around the negotiation area. Curved corners make those functional zones not too open and at the same time keep a distance from the negotiation area.
The design creates transparent view to landscape in a playful manner. The precise proportions of structures balance visual focuses, and help reveal the entire scene gradually, hence enabling the close integration between people and the space.
The overall spatial design shakes off complicated adornments, and adopts simplistic design languages to fuse warm material textures and soft light. Light and shadows freely moves throughout the space. The Life Pavilion will provide future dwellers of the community with a destination to socialize and relax. With a comfortable and warm home-like atmosphere, it will naturally strength spiritual connection between space and people.

China selects 18 new astronauts ahead of space station construction

China selects 18 new astronauts ahead of space station construction
HELSINKI — China’s human spaceflight agency has selected a group of 18 new astronauts to participate in the country’s upcoming space station project.
The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced the results Thursday (Chinese), a few days after the final decisions.
The 18 new Chinese astronauts consist of seven pilots, seven spaceflight engineers and four payload specialists. The final selection includes just one woman. The process, which included primary, secondary and final selections, began in May 2018 with a total of about 2,500 candidates participating.
No information of the identities of the selected astronaut candidates was provided. The CMSA operates under the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and has previously restricted information flow regarding astronaut and mission selection.
Previous selection rounds in 1998 and 2010 were open to air force pilots only. The latest selection was opened to civilians, reflecting changing needs as China seeks to construct and operate a modular space station.
Spaceflight engineers will be mainly responsible for directly controlling and managing the spacecraft and related technical tests. Payloads experts are mainly responsible for the on-orbit conducting diverse science experiments in low Earth orbit.
Areas of science research aboard the space station will include Earth observation, astronomy, life science, space medicine, materials science, microgravity physics, Earth weather monitoring, space environment monitoring and forecasting and more.
The New Chinese astronauts will be eligible to join the operational phase of the Chinese space station following systematic training, CMSA states. The current active astronauts from the two earlier rounds have been undergoing neutral buoyancy training in preparation for space station missions and extra vehicular activity.
Astronaut trainer Huang Weifen is understood to have led the selection process for the new Chinese astronauts, according to a social media post. Neither she nor CMSA provided details as to the selection criteria.
The selection of subsequent batches of astronauts will be carried out in due course, according to CMSA.
Space station construction
Launch of the space station’s ‘Tianhe’ core module on a Long March 5B will take place at Wenchang in the first half of 2021. Tianhe will provide the main living quarters for astronauts.
This will be followed by a crewed Shenzhou flight launched by a Long March 2F from Jiuquan. A Tianzhou fuel and supply mission will also visit Tianhe. The first of two experiment modules will then launch, joining with Tianhe via a docking hub. Construction is to be completed around 2023, according to earlier statements.
The space station will orbit at an altitude of around 380 kilometers with an inclination of between 41 and 43 degrees.
The intensive launch plan was revealed following the successful test flight of the Long March 5B heavy-lift rocket May 5. The missions will be conducted using Long March 5B, Long March 2F and Long March 7 launch vehicles.
Space station construction will mark a new, relatively intense period of human spaceflight activity for the country.
China has carried out just five crewed missions since Yang Liwei became China’s first astronaut into orbit in 2003. Liu Yang became China’s first female astronaut with a 2012 visit to Tiangong-1, an 8-metric-ton testbed for larger, 20-ton space station modules.
The 2016 Shenzhou-11 mission was China’s most recent and longest-duration crewed mission. Astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong spent most of the 33-day mission aboard Tiangong-2.
Missions to the Chinese space station during the operational phase are expected to involve three astronauts and consist of six-month-long rotations.
A co-orbiting two-metre-aperture space telescope will also be launched following completion of the basic station configuration. The ‘Xuntian’ optical module will be able to dock with the space station for maintenance and repairs.

For the first time only two companies team up to make a featured program of their mixed artists, varying from already debuted stars to yet hidden faces, especially Black Sheep's CEO Son Kyungsun sent in a good mix of his stars, starting with his well known sibling duo Chen Yuan Wen, one half of the idol duop of Chinese origin, twu, and Chen Jie Lien, who had been showing up as model in several magazines already. Yeoneo's Nam Iseul will mostly send in trainees, a fact that only seems to be further hint about their upcoming idol group and also features her well known trainee Dohee whose debut had been anticipated for a while now.
The concept of the show, as much as has been told so far, is to be renting a house and film all the inhabitants in their daily life and routines. It seems like this will only deepen the bond of both companies that were already known for their CEOs sharing a strong friendship that now broadens to their signed stars as well. Few pictures of the villa they will occupy altogether had been shared to the media so far but the insides remain a mystery to not only us and fans but apparently even to the soon to be moving in youngsters.
From both companies we got first time information and who the 10 participants will be who are meeting up in their new home of two months in just a few days, popping some well known and some hidden names. It makes us expectant of what possible features will be awoken with such project and how for the competition within the industry will also affect their living together, although some of them had already been standing in front of the camera together for a few projects so fans better get ready because the new trendsetters on friendships are coming! Get excited and look at those names below.
From Yeoneo Entertainment • Zhu Liwei, also known as J.Son is one of two Yeoneo boys to have stared in a show with a Black Sheep member, his episode with twu's Yuan Wen on a new show quickly earned them the nickname WeiWen. As a fan of the duo he sure is delighted by this new opportunity. But better not get confused by the innocent and angelic face, this boy is the youngest and represents the title of Maknae just well, mischievious and bright minded character traits seem to be the total opposite of his strong and dynamic appearance on stage. A rapper to be looked out for within his group and also on this Yo, Sheep! TV. • Zhou Minzhe, is the second character to have featured with a Black Sheep artist: He and Jie Lien had previously become a well received couple thanks to their food tours focused on sweets all around the city. How much their sweet and playful dynamics will change when sharing a house is another question. • Yao Xinyang, mostly known by his nickname Sunny, is a new face coming from this renowned company. Insiders told us his specialty is dance but not much else is yet known about him. Merely based on this little information we can look forward to all the different features though, especially to possible dance collaborations! • Yan Chengping is a former actor and now idol trainee. Many of us will recognize him from one or another drama but it is yet to be anticipated when to see him on the big screen again. For now his debut is the best excitement of all and especially his antics around his former co-stars and his future group member. • Kim Dohee, a female rapper who already gained some recognition. For long now her fans waited on more content - and especially a debut - coming from her side, with this show they seem to be getting both. According to several resources her debut with a new group won't be taking too long after the end of this show.
From Black Sheep Entertainment • Chen Yuanwen, the performance specialist from idol duo twu is already well known. Formerly he showed a lot of brother-like antics towards Liwei on their productions and as one of the oldest members of the new shared home it's leaving us with the question how well he will be able to take care of all his homemates. Possible features with Liwei, together known as Weiwen, but now also adding Sunny is something fans have repeatedly asked and commented about online. But not as much as they requested the new hit-and-it couple of the Chen siblings. • Chen Jielien, mostly known for her cute and beautiful looks in front of static cameras recently snatched her first CFs as well, making her more and more known. Yet she is the only participant that isn't from the music genre. Viewers better not be dispapointed though, her big brother more often than not pointed out that he only picked up dance thanks to his sister, making us wonder how her performing skills will par with the remaining trainees. • Kang Nayeon, the girl who had just recently debuted with this company, had been known amongst insiders for a while now. Not only is she infamous for several and many dating scandals across the genres but also had she attracted attention before her official debut, a trainee of many companies who had eventually stuck with online releases, supported by her best friend and personal producer A.R.S who is supposedly even her flatmate so sharing a home must not be new to the single child. • Im Kieun, a name many of us will now from dramas, had been a surprising face to show up on the company's own website only recently. After having admitted to be retiring from the acting business after having been urged into this direction by her well known acting parents, nobody had seen her to show up in such an unusual company, most known for picking up the black sheeps of the entertainment world. Most of us already saw her incredible singing abilities on her final romance project, hinting at her new singing career to be picked up while also leaving behind curiosity about just what makes her a black sheep. • Choi Jia, neither an unknown face to all the TV junkies out there. Having made her debut as child actress, it's no shock hearing she had been one of Yeoneo's Chengping's one love interests in a drama. Growing up bilingual she had stared not only in domestic dramas but even in Chinese productions, making her an outstanding actress. After she had disappeared from the screen from a while, fans had already wondered where she went but Son Kyungsun seems to be the answer to everything lately. Whether she was signed as actress or idol trainee is yet unknown but for sure we can expect a rise in appearance from now on!
FANBOARD [ makeweiwenhappen, +249/-32 ] I'm so hyped for this!!! mom! dad! move off the couch!!! I need to watch this live!!! [ chengping_❤, +13/-195 ] already didn't like the dynamic of Kieun and Chengping before... this will probably suck... [ cupcakelove, +54/-8 ] lol now we will finally get to know why Minzhe and Jielien are still so slender after all those sweets [ mymoon_mysun_mylove, +72/-6 ] heol! Jie is coming back! after mm_ms_ml I thought she would be gone for good but now I am just excited! [ sunnysunshine, +344/-59 ] wwww will we finally get to see their flexibility battle? Wenwen and Jiejie already won this one! did Minie buy her that cake yet? [ doheenthusiast, +172/-41 ] Dohee will come back?! I'll sell my kidney if she features Kieun! Superior duo!

one day i'll actually work on the canon of this original fiction instead of going off on an offbeat au. that day is not today. anyway here's the chen siblings being violent people i guess
Chen Liwei wishes he could threaten people. His face is hostile enough that it stops people from talking to him, but apparently not enough for him to scare them in a way that matters. Sure, they’ll be scared for the first five minutes --- an hour, if he’s really lucky --- but that’s not enough for them to rethink that dumb thing they want to do to him or his sister.
To make an impact that lasts longer, Chen Liwei usually has to beat people up.
Today, it’s some of his sister’s crazy stalkers.
“They’re technically not stalkers,” Chen Lihua says, not because she actually disagrees with his word choice, but because she’s a little shit who likes to argue with him for the sake of arguing.
“Fuck off,” Chen Liwei says.
“Don’t be so touchy,” Chen Lihua says, and then, “Hey, do you think if I’ll actually kill him if I hit him again?” She twirls the bat in her hand consideringly.
Chen Liwei gives the prone body in front of him a kick. Not too hard --- just to enough to budge it by a couple centimeters. It’d be nice if he was allowed to break some ribs, but --
“You’re not allowed to kill people, that’s illegal,” Chen Liwei says reluctantly. There’s a limit to how much damage they’re allowed to do. Too much, and then it’s not reasonable retaliation or just kids being kids or whatever the fuck the school or the police lets people get away with. It looks bad, and they can’t afford to look too bad if they want to be properly accepted to a good university.
Even if there are absolutely some people who deserve to die.
“How disappointing,” Chen Lihua says.
“Completely disappointing,” Chen Liwei says.
“I really can’t understand it,” Chen Liwei says, her lips curling. “It sounds so nice, saying you’re in love, but isn’t all of this just to get your dick wet with someone you barely know? I should tear that useless thing off, shouldn’t I?”
“Illegal,” Chen Liwei repeats.
“Fuck off,” Chen Lihua says. Thoughtfully, she taps her bat against the ground --- no, against the body, that’ll be another bruise right there. “Hey, Ge. Speaking of romance--”
“Is there someone you like?” Chen Liwei says skeptically, wrinkling his nose. Considering what they’re doing literally right now, that doesn’t seem right.
Chen Lihua snorts. “I’m not talking about me, I’m talking about you.”
“Are you dumb?” Chen Liwei says.
Chen Lihua makes a rude noise. “You’re in a good mood these days, is all I’m saying. And there aren’t that many reasons for you to be in a good mood and also not tell me about it. Is there a beautiful sister-in-law I should be looking out for?”
Chen Liwei feels his face twist involuntarily.
“No?” Chen Lihua says. “That looks like a no. How tragic, I was looking forward to hearing about how some brave white lotus melted the heart of the school’s cool aloof beauty, and together, they bravely faced the world, overcoming all trials with the power of love--”
Chen Liwei shoves a hand over her face.
“Dickhead,” Chen Lihua says.
“Don’t make me throw up,” Chen Liwei says. “Why do you read so many shitty romance novels?”
“A better question is why don’t you read any shitty romance novels.”
“Because I don’t feel like eating trash.”
“Don’t sound so disgusted, there’s a certain appeal to eating trash--”
The body at their feet groans. As one, Chen Liwei and Chen Lihua kick it.
“Anyway,” Chen Lihua says. “So I don’t have a beautiful sister-in-law.”
“Why would you even think that.”
“Well, it’s true you really have been in a better mood,” Chen Lihua says. “Also, last week, some bitch tried flirting with you at lunch and you didn’t make her instantly regret existing.”
Chen Liwei wrinkles his nose in automatic revulsion. Flirting is annoying at best, rage-inducing at worst. Who wants this sort of attention? There’s no respect there. It’s only masses of people who want his body and face, all in the most revolting way possible. That sort of thing is enough to ruin his day.
...Which is why he really should have remembered if it happened last week.
“What?” Chen Liwei says. “Really?”
“You know,” Chen Lihua simpers, shifting her voice high and breathy as she demurely lowers her lashes. “It’s just --- you were so impressive when you dealt with Qi Mingtao earlier. So dashing and handsome! Actually, I’ve always thought you were a really cool person. I --- I just really wondered --- would you want to--- ?”
“You’re going to make me throw up,” Chen Liwei says flatly.
“You keep saying that but you never do it,” Chen Lihua cackles. “Gege, your stomach isn’t as sensitive you think it is! But yeah, it went a little like that. You really truly don’t remember?”
“Should I?”
“It’s not like it was a stranger. It was one of your classmates. Han Aihan?”
The name is vaguely familiar. It takes a moment, but he eventually associates it with a face. He has no memory of talking with it last week.
Chen Liwei shrugs.
“Shit, she’s been going around saying that clearly, you like her because you didn’t bother scaring her off and also wow, you smiled at her, and what, you weren’t even paying attention? Hey, do you even know who she is?”
Of course Chen Liwei knows who she is. He knows all of his classmates by name, even if he doesn’t remember straight off the bat. Generally speaking, Han Aihan is an average girl with no particular academic talent, extracurricular talent, or even social talent. In other words: “Nothing special.”
“I’ll pay you to say that to her face,” Chen Lihua says gleefully.
“No deal,” Chen Liwei says. “If you want to her to hear it so badly, say it yourself.”
“Ah, you’re no fun. Poor Han Aihan, she’s so unimportant to you that you can’t even be bothered to crush her heart personally. If she flat-out confessed to you, would you even hear it or would it just be ‘huh? Oh, were you talking to me?’”
With some effort, Chen Liwei vaguely recalls Han Aihan saying... something to him. Chen Lihua was right --- at the time, he really hadn’t been paying attention.
“Huh,” Chen Liwei says.
“You’re normally better at remaining awake and alert,” Chen Lihua says. “What were you distracted by? Thinking good thoughts? About what? Oooh, did somebody die?”
He’d honestly been thinking about the offended expression on Wu Youxuan’s face when he saw Chen Liwei’s perfect test score.
“How are you even doing this,” Wu Youxuan hissed. “You spend all of your time either at your job or beating people up, what kind of study medicine are you even taking that you can just casually walk in and get the best goddamn score, stop smiling I’m going to beat your face in --”
“You’d know if somebody died,” Chen Liwei says, and then, because he owes his sister honesty, says, “I have a...”
What’s the word he’s looking for? Acquaintance? Lackey? Victim?
“...Friend?” Chen Liwei finishes skeptically.
Even before their parents had died, Chen Lihua had always been the more social one of them. Back then, Chen Liwei had been abstractly aware of what friendship was, but he’d never really bothered with anything more than surface level relationships. A healthy classroom atmosphere where it was easy to find partners for class projects and maybe a game of basketball --- and that was pretty much all he cared about. After...
Well, he stopped caring about even that, eventually.
Anyway.
Is Wu Youxuan a friend? Maybe for lack of a better word, but Chen Liwei is almost certain he isn’t treating Wu Youxuan nice enough for that. Should he treat Wu Youxuan nicer?
“A friend,” Chen Lihua says dubiously. “You.”
“I’m allowed to have friends,” Chen Liwei says. “You have friends.”
This is a lie. Chen Lihua doesn’t have friends. She has ‘friends’: people that she chats with and laughs with, but doesn’t actually expend any real care or feeling for. She’s explained this before. Something about keeping a pleasant atmosphere, something about feeling like your ‘friends’ are friends, even if they badmouth you behind your back. It’s a lot of effort for not very much payoff, keeping on a fake face, day after day, always ready for the knife in the back.
Chen Liwei doesn’t really get it.
Wu Youxuan is at least upfront about the desire he has to stab Chen Liwei in the face.
“You’re smiling,” Chen Lihua observes.
“Well,” Chen Liwei says. Wu Youxuan is really funny when he wants to stab Chen Liwei in the face.
#chen lihua#chen liwei#my writing#anyway i know this au isn't really about her#but the one thing i find really funny about chen lihua#is that the moment you put her in even a slightly better situation than 'canon' she's SO MUCH RUDER#the thing about her is that she LOVES irritating people#she just never actually really gets to do this in canon#at least whenever she wants#because if she DID her life would be MISERABLE

China launches Mars probe in space race with US
China has successfully launched its Tianwen-1 spacecraft to Mars, which is due to arrive on the Red Planet next February after a seven-month, 34-million-mile voyage.
The unmanned space probe took off on the Long March 5 Y-4 carrier rocket at 12:41pm (04:41 GMT) from Wenchang Space Launch Centre on the southern island province of Hainan, China.
The craft, which consists of an orbiter, lander and rover, measures just over six feet in height (1.85m) and weighs 530 pounds (240kg).
It will survey the composition, types of substance, geological structure and meteorological environment of the Martian surface.
The launch comes three days after the UAE launched its own Mars mission and a week before NASA’s scheduled launch of the Perseverance rover.
The countries are taking advantage of a period when Earth and Mars are favourably aligned for a short journey, with the US spacecraft due to lift off on July 30.
The Chinese mission is named Tianwen-1 (‘Questions to Heaven’) – a nod to a classical poem that has verses about the cosmos.
China’s largest carrier rocket, the Long March 5, blasted off with the Tianwen-1 probe at 12:41 pm local time (0441 GMT) from Wenchang Space Launch Centre on the southern island of Hainan
Engineers and other employees cheered at the launch site on the southern island of Hainan as it lifted off into blue sky aboard a Long March 5 – China’s biggest space rocket.
Livestreams showed a successful liftoff, with rockets blazing orange and the spacecraft heading upward across clear blue skies.
Site commander Zhang Xueyu declared the mission a success on state broadcaster CCTV.
The mission includes a Mars orbiter, a lander and a rover that will study the planet’s soil.
China’s mission includes a Mars orbiter, that will carry the lander and rover until release, a lander, that will parachute down the the surface carrying the rover, and a rover that will study the planet’s soil and atmosphere for signs of life
‘As a first try for China, I don’t expect it to do anything significant beyond what the US has already done,’ said Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
The UAE launched a probe on Monday that will orbit Mars once it reaches the Red Planet, but the race to watch is between the United States and China, which has worked furiously to try and match Washington’s supremacy in space.
NASA, the American space agency, has already sent four rovers to Mars since the late 1990s.
The next one, Perseverance, is an SUV-sized vehicle that will look for signs of ancient microbial life, and gather rock and soil samples with the goal of bringing them back to Earth on another mission in 2031.
Tianwen-1 is ‘broadly comparable to Viking in its scope and ambition’, said McDowell, referring to NASA’s Mars landing missions in 1975-1976.
After watching the US and the Soviet Union lead the way during the Cold War, China has poured billions of dollars into its military-led space programme.
Tianwen-1 is China’s first independent mission to another planet, a bid for global leadership in space and a display of its technological prowess and ambition
‘China joining (the Mars race) will change the situation dominated by the US for half a century,’ said Chen Lan, an independent analyst at GoTaikonauts.com, which specialises in China’s space programme.
This is not China’s first attempt at Mars – in 2011, a Chinese orbiter accompanying a Russian mission was lost when the spacecraft failed to get out of Earth’s orbit after launching from Kazakhstan, eventually burning up in the atmosphere.
But this time, China is going at it alone and is fast-tracking by launching an orbiter and rover on the same mission instead of stringing them out.
China’s secretive space programme has developed rapidly in recent decades.
Yang Liwei became the first Chinese astronaut in 2003, and last year Chang’e-4 became the first spacecraft from any country to land on the far side of the moon.
‘There is a whole lot of prestige riding on this,’ said Dean Cheng, an expert on Chinese aerospace programmes at the Heritage Foundation in Washington.
This is an illustration of what the Tianwen-1 rover could look like when it lands on Mars. The space probe is set to reach Mars in February
Landing on Mars is notoriously difficult and only the US has successfully landed a spacecraft on Martian soil, doing it eight times since 1976.
Nasa’s InSight and Curiosity rovers still operate today and are currently roaming the Martian surface.
Six other spacecraft are exploring Mars from orbit – three American, two European and one from India.
China has made huge strides in the past decade, sending a human into space in 2003.
If successful, the Tianwen-1, or ‘Questions to Heaven’, which is the name of a poem written two millennia ago, will make China the first country to orbit, land and deploy a rover in its inaugural mission
The Asian powerhouse has laid the groundwork to assemble a space station by 2022 and gain a permanent foothold in Earth orbit.
China has already sent two rovers to the Moon that are operational – with the second, the Yutu-2 rover, China became the first country to make a successful soft landing on the far side.
The Moon missions gave China experience in operating spacecraft beyond Earth orbit, but Mars is another story.
There are multiple missions to Mars in 2020 due to its optimum position relative to Earth, making journeys shorter than they would be otherwise
The much greater distance means ‘a bigger light travel time, so you have to do things more slowly as the radio signal round trip time is large,’ said McDowell.
It also means ‘you need a more sensitive ground station on Earth because the signals will be much fainter,’ he added, noting that there is a greater risk of failure.
China has upgraded its monitoring stations in the far-western Xinjiang region and northeastern Heilongjiang province to meet the Mars mission requirements, state news agency Xinhua reported last week.
The majority of the dozens of missions sent by the US, Russia, Europe, Japan and India to Mars since 1960 ended in failure.
The Chang Zheng 5 (Long March 5) carrier rocket with the Tianwen-1 Mars rover is launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Center
National security concerns led the US to curb co-operation between NASA and China’s space programme.
In an article Nature Astronomy, mission chief engineer Wan Weixing said Tianwen-1 would look for a landing site on Utopia Planitia, Mars’ largest recognised impact basin, where NASA has detected possible evidence of underground ice.
If all goes well, the 240kg golf cart-sized, solar-powered rover is expected to operate for about three months, and the orbiter for two years.
Though small compared with America’s hulking, car-sized 1,025kg Perseverance, it is almost twice as big as the two rovers China sent to the moon in 2013 and 2019.
Perseverance is expected to operate for at least two years.
The rover was lifted off by a Long March 5 rocket on Hainan Island and it is expected to reach Mars in February 2021
China’s road to Mars has hit a few bumps – a Long March-5 rocket, nicknamed Fat 5 because of its bulky shape, failed to launch earlier this year and coronavirus forced scientists to work from home.
In March, when instruments needed to be transported from Beijing to Shanghai, three team members drove 12 hours to deliver them.
While China is joining the US, Russia and Europe in creating a satellite-based global navigation system, experts say it is not trying to overtake the US lead in space exploration.
Instead, Mr Cheng said China is in a ‘slow race’ with Japan and India to establish itself as Asia’s space power.
The United Arab Emirates has celebrated the launch of its ‘Hope’ probe to Mars – the first interplanetary mission by an Arab nation
This Mars-launching season, which occurs every 26 months when Earth and Mars are at their closest, is especially busy.
The UAE spacecraft Amal, also known as Hope, which will orbit Mars but not land, is the Arab world’s first interplanetary mission.
The unmanned spacecraft blasted off at 6.58am local time on Monday (21.58 BST on Sunday) from Japan’s Tanegashima Space Center.
The 3,000lb (1,350kg) Hope craft (pictured) will complete one orbit every 55 hours for a total of one Martian year — 687 Earth days
The launch was overseen by the command and control centre at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) in Dubai, which spearheaded the project.
NASA’s Perseverance rover, which will launch at about midday BST next Thursday (July 30), is up next.
‘At no other time in our history have we seen anything like what is unfolding with these three unique missions to Mars,’ the Space Foundation’s chief executive officer Thomas Zelibor said in an online panel discussion earlier this week.
‘Each of them is a science and engineering marvel.’

IC: Nome terreno: Liwei Wang. Nome mitológico: Euadne. Faceclaim: Darren Chen – Ator. Nascimento: 13 de abril de 1995. Naturalidade: Roma, Itália.
Ser: Semi-deus, filho de Atena. Nível: 02 Dormitório: Andromeda - 05
Twitter: @euadne_olp Ocupação: Bibliotecário.
Qualidades: Carinhoso, leal e sensível. Defeitos: Egoísta, orgulhoso e rancoroso.
Biografia:
A história do lugar o prendia, adorava.
Quanto maior o nível, melhor a habilidade.

I dati saranno analizzati.

FacePush: Introducing Normal Force on Face with Head-Mounted Displays Hong-Yu Chang, Wen-Jie Tseng, Chia-En Tsai, Hsin-Yu Chen, Roshan Lalintha Peiris, Liwei Chan Abstract This paper presents FacePush, a Head-Mounted Display (HMD) integrated with a pulley system to generate normal forces on a users face in virtual reality (VR). The mechanism of FacePush is obtained by shifting torques provided by two motors that press upon a users face via utilization of a pulley system. FacePush can generate normal forces of varying strengths and apply those to the surface of the face. To inform our design of FacePush for noticeable and discernible normal forces in VR applications, we conducted two studies to iden- tify the absolute detection threshold and the discrimination threshold for users perception. After further consideration in regard to user comfort, we determined that two levels of force, 2.7 kPa and 3.375 kPa, are ideal for the development of the FacePush experience via implementation with three applications which demonstrate use of discrete and continuous normal force for the actions of boxing, diving, and 360 guidance in virtual reality. In addition, with regards to a virtual boxing application, we conducted a user study evaluating the user experience in terms of enjoyment and realism and collected the users feedback. Chinese drama ‘The Moon River’ which stars UTOPIA’s Sparrow, features K-pop group UTOPIA in it’s OST!
The Romantic Comedy drama ‘The Moon River’ premiered yesterday on television which received good ratings. One of the many reasons it became a hit is because a Chinese member from a k-pop group UTOPIA starred as the male lead. Tang Liwei or known as Sparrow (@sparwei) is known to be UTOPIA’s only Chinese member. The attention he received from Chinese fans helped him get cast to be the main lead in this new romantic comedy.
And of course, the drama won’t be complete without it’s OST. And as a double treat for their fans (who are called IMMORTALS), the group along with two other 2K artists were featured in it’s Official Soundrack in which they all sung in mandarin! Check out the OST!
