Marzi how do you not die of frustration dealing with the most self important people on the planet flocking to your posts
In this case? By being secure in the knowledge that I'm right.
Also, you know, I'm dealing with my new landlady being passive-aggressive about furniture she offered to move out of the room I'm renting, due to the whole "nobody told me it was rented furnished until three days ago and I already bought furniture from FB marketplace" situation.
#ask#anon#personal#for anyone who's not up to speed: the Craigslist listing did not say it was rented furnished#there was one question in the application about 'do you have large furniture' but since unfurnished rooms are the default here#and again no mention in the ad#I assumed like Piano rather than Bed and said no#then when I went to see the place the previous tenant said 'any of this furniture can stay if you need it' which#kind of implies that any of it can GO#so I dilligently combed through FB marketplace for some cheap antiques and put down deposits. my friend rented a uhaul#to help me move them soon#and then the landlady said something about 'my' bed in an email and it all became clear#she offered to move some things to accomodate my furniture and seemed very calm about it in the moment#but now I get an email about how they've been 'struggling' for the last several days to accomodate my situation#and it's 'troublesome'#(to be clear I offered to help when I arrived)#and my furniture isn't coming for another few days so the moving of objects wasn't urgent. and I'm happy to assist however I can

i am losing my mind over here. Twice, twice in this month, I had a roommate rush into the apartment and blurt out that she's moving out, on the spot, I'm ???? how does this happen twice, in two weeks.
I was all set to have two roommates during the cold season and they both seemed so nice and I've just taken all the adds off the internet and relaxed and now I have to put it all back up T_T and answer calls, and show the apartment to strangers.. and I have 2 weeks to find a new roommate. Aaaah.
#when are the things going to stop happening#i'm just trying to find my way to survival here#is anyone living in croatia willing to come live in my room#rent is super cheap and you can get massages anytime

Whenever people say that Airbnb is way more expensive than a hotel. It just. That just simply is not true. That's true if you want to rent an entire fancy house, which is what Airbnb likes to pretend most of its site contains. Obviously such a rental should cost more than a hotel room. But if you rent the equivalent of a hotel room, like a spare room in someone's house, it is almost always cheaper. And also less damaging to the housing crisis.
If you're looking at the homepage and shaking your head at the prices that's like seeing wagyu beef at a 5 star restaurant and complaining that it costs more than a cheeseburger. Babe that is rich people nonsense you canNOT expect it to be affordable
#also ive never once been asked to do cleaning#i have no idea where that complaint comes from#i stg probably 75% of the site is just people renting out spare rooms and basements and shit#the way they advertise directly causes like most of the complaints people have about them#it is truly not the site it pretends to be but they dont want to associate with the cheap ass shit i guess#they'd rather get blamed for the housing crisis than admit most of their listings are average looking bedrooms in average looking houses

now that i think about it.... it would be really funny to me if the reason the monkee pad is so big is because it used to be something else. like an old movie theatre that began to flop and so it shut down a long long time ago. or a small restaurant with a little stage area. a shop. etc etc.
#and because it's a big vacant rundown space nobody wants to rent/buy for business Babbit was like#“well i gotta do something with it”#and so he advertised it as a cheap space to live with a lot of room#the monkees

now heres the thing is my rule is i have to live on my own for a year before im allowed to get a pet but also consider what if i had a little friend .
#in my heart i want a wawa so badly it hurts but alsoooo i worry quite a bit bc like. i work full time... so el wawa would be at home alone a#lot and one thing about the beautiful adorable majestic chihuahua is they have to pee every 3-4 hours. so i would have to have some way to#let them out OR keep them outside while im at work but another thing is 1. apartments dont generally have backyards#2. chihuahuas get cold very easily .... i could do some ssort of doggy daycare but i fear that would be expensive .... and i hate pee pads#and would prefer not 2 use them so i dont rly have much optionn 😭 but i want a chihuahua so badly.#but ALSO. a kitty cat.... i love cats i think theyre really quite sweetsies and also i think they could handle living in an apartment bette#esp since famously cats use the bathroom indoors. u may know.#so... i could potentially get a kitty..... but also i dont want to get one until im absolutely positive i could take good care of it and i#feel like i could esp now that ive got a system that works so well 4 motivating me to do my daily tasks yk. and also i think if i had my ow#apartment id feel a lot safer just like. being up and around the apartment so thatd be good... but also pets r expensive. but also the apt#i just applied to is rly quite cheap (like 1050 a month) its income restricted but i qualify by like a lot LMAO... n this would be perfect#bc 1050 is likee. not even a full paycheck i could pay rent with 1 paycheck and still have like 150 left over and then my other paycheck fo#the month is fully mine... so i could save up lots#+ wsg is included in the rent whichhh is insane. adn the apartment is cute and Trust . alarm bells were going off a bit bc i was like maybe#this is too good to be true we all remember the 800$ scam incident. but its a verified listing and i checked the propertymanagers and theyr#legit... its even got a washer and dryer IN UNIT and also a fitness center which is good bc i wanna try n start doing more cardio...#IT EVEN HAS A FIREPLACE i dont particularly need a fireplace but its cool 2 have one i could make smores right in my very own living room#AND ITS NOT A STUDIO its a 1 br...#grahhh i rly rly rly want ittt ik i prolly wont get it but :[

OKAY IT'S HAPPENING
I've decided I'm finally doing an OFFICIAL X FILES REWATCH 2023
for some context I first watched the x files when I was 14 and living in a studio apartment with my mom. we had just moved out of my childhood home and I had just left the K-8 I had gone to my entire life. I spent the summer before I started high school sitting alone in that apartment while my mom worked full time, watching the x files, and for a couple weeks going out and walking to driver's ed classes down the street. I was extremely depressed, lonely, and hopeless, and because of that I'm pretty sure I blocked most of that summer from my memory. however, I do remember falling in love with the x files, specifically with Mulder and Scully's relationship, and throwing myself head first into the fandom here on tumblr.
now, 10 years later, I am 24 and back on tumblr. I am still following a lot of txf blogs and seeing all the amazing content and discourse still circulating about it made me realize I need to rewatch. I need to experience it again with the perspective I have now, and with the nostalgia and love that still lives in my heart for this show that, like so many others during that time in my life, were a much needed escape.
anyway, follow along if you'd like and experience the rewatch of a decade unfold before you. I won't be blogging about every episode cuz damn that'd be a lot, but I'll check in periodically and maybe hopefully have some insightful things to say. mostly I'm just gonna have fun cuz DAMN do I love this fucking show
WOO thanks for reading now LET'S GOOOOOO
#txf rewatch 2023#thats gonna be my tag i think#also i would like to note that im cheap af and will be watching on my mom's prime account which is going to include ADs goddamn it#i might also go to my local video store and rent some seasons but that just means i will have to watch in my living room#and deal with roommates#but whatever#txf#the x files#im so excited

staring mournfully out the window remembering the days when i fantasised over $600/month apartments on zillow and now 10 years later you can't even rent a room for $600. housing crisis housing crisis
#i make decent money i truly do my income is insane to me#i make what my mother made growing up#and yet i cannot afford to live on my own as rent now costs 65% or more of my income#renting a room would be closer to 40%#that is fucking bonkers#its to the point where i understand that my only shot of living on my own is saving up enough money to buy a house#and rest assured i cannot afford a mortgage either so i have to bank a fuckton of money an unrealistic unattainable fuckton of money#which is why im endeavouring to be done spending money kindof permanently on anything i can possibly cut out#id need to pony up 50% down to afford a $200k house which is unrealistically cheap even for a condo 🤡

you think i'd be better at this given its my third time moving in two months
#moved in with my long term serious partner and then found out she had an eviction notice she didn't tell me about so I would live with her#so I had to move in then move out (broke up with her bc i cant trust my safety anymore) after just a few weeks back to my shitty parents#and it took me a little over a month to find a space in disability housing which was SO FKN QUICK FOR THAT#I got super lucky and I dont have a specific social worker bc theyre too swamped to get me one#so one of the guy in charge of the local social workers has been acting as my social worker#so since he was in charge he knew a new program had JUST started and had room so he applied for me which really got me in quick#they started buying houses in poorer areas and renting them to disabled ppl for EXTREMELY subsidized prices. 1600 split between three peopl#with a yard and all utilities including internet fully covered. And house cleaning#and I actually like the 'bad' area its in. Its just bad enough to be mostly free of chains so the area has small local grocers who sell foo#sell food so cheap it made my head spin when I popped into one after finalizing the move in date#its far away from my sibling tho :(#this is on the west side of the next over city and my sibling is on the far west metro of the main city#its 2hr 14m bus ride one way#were going to try and hang out at a board game venue mid way between us :)
