Apparently Tower Records Umeda NU Chamayachi is where Dir en grey's stuff got transfered, in the Osaka area at least. I guess that it says so on the cards if you can read their handwriting, in retrospection, but I swear that I had seen those autographs in the other Umeda store instead. I had never been to the Chayamachi one before today.

He has the simplest design. But somehow slim pants, a jacket with a giant white fur edged hood, grey hair and phlegmatic face worked all together and I watched the anime only because of Akira. Also there is somewhat duality of character designs between Akira and Shiki that visually works very well.

After that I discovered to myself that great drawing style of the manga with colorful Suguro Chayamachi illustrations. Here I used colors from one of them.

Sometimes I get back to all that with ost or the manga, trying to find it’s continue. Like now, when I suddenly unlocked the urge to draw fanarts for TnC. After this long time passed, lol

KOKIA updates - new releases (November 2024)

KOKIA has updated her official web page with new information about her recent single and upcoming new album. Here are the updates to keep you in the loop.

Arigatou... (KOKIA's version)

KOKIA recorded her song Arigatou... ('Thank you...') again for a digital single, this time labeling the version 'KOKIA's version'. The single was available starting midnight from the night rolling into October 2.

The single is available via various online sources here. She also produced a music video to go along with the single, which can be found on her official YouTube channel.

Essence -25th Anniversary All Time Best-

On November 20, 2024, KOKIA's best album Essence -25th Anniversary All Time Best- will be released. Unlike many of her most recent releases, this album will be available in general music stores and not her official web shop. The full tracklist is also available (I'll include it at the end of this entry).

The HMV website offers a special first come, first served postcard if y you pre-order the album via their shop.

Tower Records has a special in-store event on November 27, 2024 at their Umeda NU Chayamachi store in Osaka, Japan. If you purchase your copy of the album there, you will receive a ticket for event admission and for an autograph session (both first come, first serve, with the former given out once per order, and the latter for every album purchased). The event will open at 19:00 and start at 19:30. Purchasers will also get a postcard as long as supplies last.

Additional events

General ticket sales for her November 2 strings concert SHI-NA-RU at Suntory Blue Rose have started, so the release month of her new album. The concert features KOKIA with just piano, violin and cello, themed around Arigatou... (her gratitude). The concert is being prepared as a replacement for her big hall concerts in spring, which she didn't get to do this year.

KOKIA's album shares its name with KOKIA's new radio show, KOKIA's the Essence of Music, which started airing Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1:30 to 2:00 AM (technically early Monday morning), and is a weekly radio show.

From Shibuya to Umeda！〜It’s Rainy Season〜 

I found this flower when I got off the station the other day💕What kind of flower could it be😳✨The colours and petals are so beautiful 😳✨I thought only hydrangea bloomed at this time of year but there are various flowers blooming in the world 🤗

It's been raining a lot lately but I unexpectedly like it... First of all, I like the sound of rain😍Also, the slightly dull and cloudy sky is even darker than usual, isn't it? I like that too 😍 When you look at it, there’s always a sense of foreboding, it's going to rain~It's going to rain ~ 😂 The temperatures are still moderate right now but I'm afraid it's going to get really hot soon...😇 I wonder if I will be able to survive the heat...😇

By the way, last Saturday I held an in-store event to commemorate the release of "Sono Saki e" at Tower Records Shibuya! I performed together with Sakurada-san who accompanied me on the piano! It's been a while since I’ve heard Saku-chan play the piano, it was a lot of fun~🥰 Saku-chan's playing style was so intense and powerful that the piano was shaking! *laughs* Truly amazing - what a dynamic performance🤭This was my first event with a live audience since my Christmas concert from last year, there was also a live stream option so people were able to watch the whole thing online. I picked a few songs from my 3rd album "Sono Saki e", some of which I hadn’t watched in front of an audience before☺️The archived video will be available until Saturday, so please be sure to check it out 😍You can watch me be super nervous during the first song😂

Today was dedicated to radio appearances 🥳At 16:00, I had a remote appearance on FM FUJI's "Bumpy!"☺️ I got to remain in Tokyo while the episode was live broadcast in Yamanashi prefecture...amazing time, isn't it?😳✨I got way too excited talking about movies and dramas with DJ Maya Watanabe 🤭 Maya, thank you very much!! ️

And then at 19:00, I appeared on NACK5-san's "Kirasta"🤗It's been three years and four months since my last appearance! 😳✨I was happy to be able to meet Miura-san and Momoka-san for the first time in a while😍We had a blast talking about gyoza😂It was fun 🌟 I'm definitely having gyoza tonight!! ️🥟🥟🥟🥟
