Thoughts on Dojima?

ask my muse how they feel about other muses they interact with!

FIRST & FOREMOST he’s not happy with the way dojima is raising nanako       if you can call it that. each broken promise, late night, etc. stack heavily on that poor girl’s shoulders. & if there’s anybody who can relate to the feeling of abandonment ( has doubted that they’re really loved ), it’s yu. now, he knows the facts       dojima absolutely DOES love his daughter, more than anything in the world       yu just wishes he’d exemplify it.

despite the criticism, he cares deeply for his uncle. he’s not the first relative that’s had to deal with yu burdening them, but he’s the only one that has felt like FAMILY ( rather, what a family should be ). dojima’s a hardened guy; his methods of keeping an eye on yu’s wellbeing seem harsh… yet, yu feels valued & protected because of them.

in dojima’s social link, he says that yu feels like more like a much younger brother rather than a nephew. as an only child, yu cherishes the comparison. ( & with nanako giving him the role of big bro, it’s like he has multiple siblings! ) my yu is severely reluctant to open up about anything, even the most minor inconveniences. he doesn’t trust anybody 100%, including his own parents, not to manipulate his weaknesses.

but dojima is the one exception. yu’s willing to rely on his uncle. whether it’s ranting about his friends, breaking down into tears over academic stress, or quietly sharing his fears       he wouldn’t regret it. that’s certainly not something that applies to anybody else.

          “Oji-san...” He’s not really sure of the question. Does he have to work harder at being the most boring teenager on the planet? Yu’s face remains perfectly straight, less because he’s using his iconic poker face and more because he just doesn’t get it. Is he going to get arrested if he says yes? “.....” 

     He’ll give the short answer. “... No.”

There was a cat in her way, and it wasn’t one of hers. Only one thing to do. Pet it. And pet it. And pet it. 

Eventually she lost track of time and it got dark. Dark in a small town was actually much much MUCH scarier than dark in a city - and she definitely missed the last train. Fuck.

[ ✪ ] Kanji stuck in an elevator together with @chasescars

This was awkward.

No. This was a whole otherworld level of awkward. Kanji was stuck in an elevator with Dojima. Normally this would be hard enough, him being Kanji’s parole officer while he was on probation for still pending numerous vandalization acts, but now Kanji had befriended the man’s nephew. Even with Yu having moved back home to the city, there was still no escaping this name with Nanako attached to most of all their hips. The punk knew that the police officer had never liked having him around and it was a giant can of worms he really didn’t want to open at that moment.

Foot tapping, the younger one grew more impatient for repair services to come and get their tiny prison moving again. his arms remained crossed over his chest. Kanji grumbled, keeping his eyes shut from where he leaned back against the elevator wall until finally it felt as though the entirety of 3 minutes had been 3 hours. A rough growl escaped his throat until his frustration erupted in the form of his fist flying into the steel door, pain exploding into his joints once again like at the hospital months ago. “Damnit, get us out of here!” he roared.

YES OR NO?

            What he really wants to say is if you’re so concerned, why don’t you ask her yourself? But he’s not that type of person. Even though it makes him grind his teeth every time Dojima comes home late or doesn’t come home or leaves again when he’s supposed to be taking a break, Yu doesn’t voice it. He knows about busy parents and how little it means that their own kid might want to spend some time with them now and then. He doesn’t even mention that Nanako would probably be over the moon to be on the receiving end of such an innocuous question. Instead, he turns back to the fridge in search of the vegetables he’d picked up the other day.

       “No. She doesn’t say anything.” But it’s clear to anyone how she feels about it.

Does your friend Hanamura often ask you to wield swords in public locations?

YES OR NO?

           He’s not my friend, Yu wants to say, but decides it’s not really an argument worth having. Hanamura seems to think that they’re friends, so Yu’s opinion probably doesn’t really matter. He’s known guys like that before and how willful they can be. Instead, Yu just releases an irritated breath. “Iiya,” he responds at length. “That was the first time.” And the last, if Yu has anything to say about it. The fact remains that they need their weapons in the TV world, but Yu is certain that he can think of something smarter than waving them around in the food court. 

     It seems like he just got here and already he’s in trouble. “Sorry to cause you trouble, Oji-san.”

          Well, the short answer is yes, because Yu knows very well how Dojima feels about him sticking his nose in the case. Would his uncle be concerned about Yu hanging out with a group of people not only determined to solve this, but intricately involved.

    He waited too long to respond. “Probably ... the basketball club.”
