AND NOW….WHAT WE ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR…. PENGUIN! READER IN COURT.
HAZBIN HOTEL X PENGUIN! READER pt.4
Prompt: after lute’s acting out and hell’s celebration. A court was ordered for the custody for you.
“We are here in court today to discuss the home and place that reader should be in” says sera as she eyes Lucifer and his daughter that’s beside him.
Charlie smiles at the thought of winning this time as she smiles at her father who seemed to be a nervous wreck. He is hair was messy but almost kept as he kept fidgeting with his hands.
“Okay let’s start,” she says as she pulls up some cards. “Please no definitions this time.” Sera says strictly. Charlie gulps as she pulls out another bunch of cards. “Okayyy..no defining..but I have kept record on how comfortable they are with the hotel and the residents” she says with a small smile as Lucifer glances at his daughter hoping she could change the seraphim’s mind.
“Do you have any proof of this suppose claim?” Sera says with a raised brow. “Why yes! I do and my dad also has some. Right dad?” Charlie says looking at Lucifer who jumped at the sudden spot light. “Uh- yeah, yeah. I have some proof and rebuttals.” Lucifer says sitting up correctly.
Sera and Emily look at each other as a ball rises into the room. The angels seem to look each other and watch the ball carefully. Charlie smiles ready to show them how you belong in hell with them, for family of course.
“Oh oh oh, I would love to watch this shit show.” Adam says pulling up popcorn out of nowhere as the ball in the court starts to play. Lute grabs two movie glasses to wear with him and herself.
*flashback*
You were sleeping peacefully in Lucifer’s bed as he made you another duck toy as you woke up to smell pancakes beside you. You grabbed the pancake and ate them with a cute smile and squeak/quack. Angel busted in the ring leader’s door to grab you up and take you shopping as you got dressed.
Charlie and vaggie were talking downstairs as Lucifer was after Angel trying to pack up reader’s small little bag just incase there is trouble, like a small phone, small juice box, a rubber duck that turns into a monster to protect the penguin. And while type of stuff. Of course Angel rolled his eyes and took it for you as you two exit the hotel with vaggie and Charlie saying bad. You looked visibly happy as Lucifer gave one more goodbye kiss to your forehead.
*end of flashback*
The court chatters seeing such wholesome moments like that in hell. Adam rolls his eyes as lute basically breaks a mug beside her in anger seeing the angels nod and smile.
“How do we not know that you forced them to basically like that shit show of your hotel? You bride them with something?” Adam says rolling his eyes “Probably threaten them like the bastards you are.” Lute says as she glares longer at the two Morningstars.
The angels whisper gossiping about this. Charlie looks nervous as Lucifer looked as if he got sent to a death sentence. But Charlie then stood up with a nice compute looking around. “Don’t you ever think about what they want?! They’re our friend, heck even our family at most. PLEASEE…we just want them to be here with people they feel comfortable and loved around.”
“BLAH BLAH BLAH!” Someone says, ruining the soft moment as the court looks at Adam and lute who are scowling at the demon princess. “Why keep spitting these bullshit out your mouth and just admit that heaven is their rightful place? I mean, HAHA- they love me and plus they love the food here even better.” Adam says with a snarky smirk and lute smiling evilly.
Charlie’s demon form was slightly slipping from anger at adam’s words before lucifer had put a hand on his daughter’s shoulder. “Adam, that is no way to talk to my daughter” Lucifer says with a scowl at Adam. Adam just smirks as lute was beside the first man throwing her middle up at him. “Ah please, you’re gods most hated thing to ever exist. Why let an ANGEL, who is supposed to be here, go live with you?”
Charlie opened her mouth to speak, “it was a rhetorical question.” Lute says with blunt venom. Charlie closed her mouth embarrassed. The court whispered and gossiped with a few nods as they did agree you were one of them that accidentally got sent to hell instead of heaven itself.
Sera felt a heated stare from the devil himself, he kept his deranged look from the stress of this. The last time he had to be in court was when he got sent to his own kingdom.
“DONT you care Sera! They are just a person who can’t control who loves them! They love us…and maybe..you guys as well.” Charlie says as she hesitated on saying how you loved heaven as well. She stared around sera as well as sera closed her eyes not wanting to hear it. Emily glanced at the older seraphim uncomfortably.
Her first sentence made it feel like Deja vu in front of the whole court as Adam exclaimed, “HOLD ON HOW BITCH! You don’t get to sing in court ever! Plus.” He says smirking. “Of course they love us, we’re fucking heaven for crying out loud.” Sera sighs, “Adam, please no interrupting in court.” Adam scoffs sitting back down with lute who glares at Lucifer with full of hate. “Fuckin' bitch.” Adam grumbles under his breath.
Charlie growls under her breath to Adam as she pointed to Adam, “well, what do you have for claiming they even love heaven at all! What and where is your proof.” Adam smirks as lute flies, getting a presentation. “I’m glad you asked bitch, LUTE HIT IT!” “GREAT PLEASURE SIR!” Lute yells back smiling as she starts up the slideshow.
*flashback*
You were cuddled by Adam as he was hand feeding you some of your favorite chips flavor. You made a nice purr sound as you snuggled against Adam, adam’s tough facade faded as his eyes soften. “You like me right? You won’t leave me?” You nodded to Adam as you nuzzled your face in his pudgy body. Adam smiled and looked forward at the tv.
The next day was you and lute having a flying race. With your cute chubby penguin body, you couldn’t fly well. But lute just smiled and picked you up to her chest and starts to fly around heaven. You smiled as you quacked out how beautiful and exciting this felt to fly with someone you deem who you liked. You clearly liked the fresh and heaven air as lute put you to the ground to go get ice cream with you.
*end of flashback*
Adam smiles with a laugh as lute and fist bump at the presentation they made of you basically feeling cozy as heaven here. The angels awe and coo at adam’s part of the flashback as some clapped at the nice friendly encounter you had with lute in the second part.
The court whispers again as Emily and sera look at each other. Emily grabs onto sera’s hand as sera glances at Emily and her hand. And finally at the Morningstars who have a pleading smile as you are beside them playing with a train you. Sera lets out a deep breath and opened her mouth for the whole court to hear.
“The court has spoken. The rightful place the reader belongs in, is……”

Radioapple fic, where after the Extermination, Lucifer decides that Alastor isn't allowed to pretend to care about being Charlie's parent if he isn't going to actually step up into that role. And so he just forces Alastor to be her other dad.
The first time Charlie asks Lucifer if he can do something for her, and he goes, "Actually sweetie, I think this might be better suited for your other father," the blare of radio static was so loud a few glasses at the bar actually shattered.
Charlie was confused but ecstatic that her dad and Alastor are getting along, and Lucifer had to keep himself from cackling at Alastor's reaction (and his face, as he was forced to agree with both the task and the fact that he can't argue with Lucifer for doing this to him.)
Slowly, Lucifer just gets the entire hotel to call Alastor "Charlie's Other Dad," and whenever one of them disagrees with something she says, now Charlie will go "Well I'm going to ask my other dad, then!"
Eventually, Alastor just embraces the role that he (unintentionally) made himself have, and he does really treasure the face Lucifer makes the first time HE does the "ask your other father" routine.
(They have new mugs that say "Dad #1/Dad #2 and they actively fight to grab the Dad #1 mug before the other can reach it.)
The problem is, only the original cast was THERE for the dad fight song, and no one has told any of the new residents about it. So, to everyone else, it just looks like they really ARE Charlie's dad's and that they actually are in a relationship.
(Their constant bickering and need to be around the other isn't helping matters here.)
Pretty soon, it's not hard for the connection of Lilith going missing, Alastor going missing, and Lucifer never being in the public eye to arise. Because, what other reason would Alastor come back after a 7 YEAR hiatus just to help Lucifer’s daughter with her project, for only a few months later for Lucifer HIMSELF to come out of hiding to also help, for Lilith to still be MIA and now suddenly Alastor and Lucifer are being referred to as Charlie's dad's.
During a fight, Lucifer makes the joke about wanting a divorce and the entire hotel riots.

Vox poured a cup of coffee into his “Fuck Alastor” mug and whistled as he exited the penthouse suite, heading for his office.
“What has him in such a cheery mood this mornin’, hmm?” Val asks from his spot on the couch, flipping through various channels on the television. The moth demon sipped from his own “Pimpin’ Not Simpin” mug.
Velvette sat on the edge of the countertop, a new phone in hand, tapping away. “Something about his mysterious Alley Girl. How the Hell should I know?”
“The bitch staying with Alastor?” Valentino adjusted his rose glasses.
“Yup.”
Val took another sip of his mug, before finally flipping to 666 News. “I can’t even get that lanky prick to return my calls, and Mr. Flat Screen thinks he can romance one of Charlie’s Redeemers without pissing off the Smiling Freak?”
Velvette finally puts the phone away. Grabbing her own coffee cup, she jumps over the back of the couch to join Valentino in watching the morning broadcast. “At least he’s movin’ on.” She shrugs. “If I have to hear him bitch one more time about Al…”
The television chimed, interrupting their conversation and announcing the start of a special broadcast. “Travis Miku, a former employee of V Tower Productions, was found burnt to a crisp this morning just outside the Entertainment District…”
Val spit his coffee across the room. “What!?”
____________________________________________
“Okay, Scales,” you laugh, pouring the coconut milk into the cup.
“Ay’, nicknames are my thang, Hair clip!” Angel scolded from his seat at the table.
“What do you think of this?” You spun, sending the cappuccino flying down the table. It sailed with such force that it flew right past the snake demon and crashed onto the tile floor next to a pair of black and red dress shoes. You were so distracted that you didn’t notice the run of static down your spine.
Fuck.
“My, it seems I have stumbled across the old rough and tumble this morning,” the demon’s radio clicks onto a smooth jazz before he slips into his apron and starts the stove. He’s in a good mood.
You’re frozen in place for a moment, very aware of the Radio Demon standing right next to you and the mere inches the coffee cup had to spare before acosting him. The room has gone silent, nervously awaiting the Radio Demon and his temper. Yet, it doesn’t come.
Your eyes flit down to his red and black shoes - not a speck on them - you wouldn’t - couldn’t - make eye contact with the demon. Especially after last night. Your cheeks heat with the memory of his lips on yours.
Fucking Hell. You’ve never experienced this before. You’ve never wanted to do… sexual things. It wasn’t in your nature. Dad raised you on the belief that anything before marriage was a sin and so you spent the majority of your life believing the same thing. When you finally were free of him you found that you just didn’t have any interest. Not in men or women. It just wasn’t something you thought of.
Your closest friend tried to talk you into it, she was as promiscuous as they get - she’d rival even Adam’s body count - but you just didn’t really want to. She’d go off and sleep with whatever had two legs, while you’d prefer a good book and a glass of wine in your bed.
Now? Your thoughts and feelings towards those things were getting… confusing. Alastor was making those things confusing and you really hated to admit that.
White-knuckled, the demon whipped a few eggs - clearly holding back his agitation from your almost attack. You wondered what it would take to break his smile, get him to try and frown for once. You wondered what you would have to do to wipe that smirk off his face…
Oh, and part of you would love to try but another part knows you needed to get on his good side.
Rubbing the back of your neck, you grab a towel to…
“Oh, no, allow me, darling,” he snaps his finger and the pile of destroyed ceramic disappears.
You swallow, “Thank you.” Turning back to the machine, you begin a new cup for Pentious and a hot cup of chai coffee for Alastor, listening awkwardly to the demon humming beside you.
“So…” Husk starts. “Heard you were heading to Mimzy’s today.”
“I am,” you and the Radio Demon respond at the same time. His radio skips a beat, the jazz song turning to static as he meets your eye - God, that was starting to get annoying. His left eye twitches ever so slightly betraying his mask of a smile.
You side eye the barkeep over your shoulder. You knew what he was doing. He was tasked to watch after you, which meant reporting your movements, especially when it involved the Overlord’s acquaintances - not cool Husk, not cool.
“And what business would you have with ~my~ darling Mimzy?” Alastor’s radio clicked back to a smooth jazz. Did he play anything else?
My Mimzy? MY?
“Just picking up a few things,” you turn back to the coffee, doing your best to concentrate on your coconut creation and the chai brewing next to it.
“Seems we will be running in the same circles today then, Ms. Thestral,” his voice purrs.
“Seems we will,” you wipe the rim of the cup before turning to the table, mugs in hand. You kept your eyes down, not wanting to catch Alastor’s gaze.
Perhaps if you coordinated, you could find a time to get to the club when Alastor wouldn’t be there…
“Care to join me?” The demon purred.
Your heart sank through your stomach and onto the floor. You practically dropped the mugs in your hand before setting them gently on the table. Finally, your eyes caught his.
He looked rather domestic like this - frilly pink apron, spatula in hand. If no one knew who you were they’d think you a couple, getting ready for a quiet breakfast at home. Good thing your audience knew better. You were more likely to kill each other than anything else. And, underneath all of that, the demon looked utterly exhausted…
You shoot him your prettiest, most sincere smile, fighting the blush creeping up your neck. “I would be delighted,” you answer through gritted teeth.
“Delightful,” the demon beams at you, his irises lighting up like crimson crystals.
Angel leans over to whisper to Husk, “What is happening?”
“Breakfast!” Alastor abruptly drops the pan, making the entire room jump. “Enjoy.”
The three blink before digging in, doing their best to ignore whatever pissing contest you and Alastor had found yourselves in - except for Angel. The Porn Star loved drama.
The Radio Demon leans in, his gaze boring into you. You feel something tickle the peripherpy of your power. It wasn’t his shadow and it wasn’t him probing your power. It felt like his radio static had brushed up against your fire, like a caresse across your skin. It was eerily similar to the feeling you got when you and he made the deal atop the radio tower.
Could he feel that too?
Your cheeks heated as he came closer, his gaze suddenly changed. From a look of pure anger to something else… “You’re not afraid of me.”
The statement sent a shiver down your spine.
Taking a deep breath, you leaned in closer, pushing all thoughts of his lips from your mind, of his hands on your throat, of his thigh between your legs, his chest flush with yours… “Seems Charlie left that part out of the tour.” You smirked, your red lipstick contrasting against your white teeth. You wished you had more prominent canines for a situation such as this.
God, why did Alastor make you feel so… so… angry!? That was the only way to describe what was happening. He made you angry.
He laughed, a deep rumble from his chest, not the fake showman’s laugh you normally heard from him. His face lit up in a way you hadn’t seen before from the Overlord. Then he fell silent, uncharacteristically so. His eyes dipped down. Not to your neck. No, his gaze didn’t drop low enough.
Was he… What is he… Your face grew warm as a blush crept up from your collarbones.
He was staring at your lips.
“Um, excussssse me?” Sir Pentious’ question broke the tension, bringing you both back to the room.
You cleared your throat, finding your seat at the table.
Ignoring the looks Angel Dust was shooting you from across the room, you pushed the cappuccino to the snake.
“...I don’t eat eggssss.” The serpent smiled. “May I have pancakesss?” He beamed.
Alastor’s smile strained. “Of course, my slippery friend.”
You were in no place to point out that pancakes still had eggs in them.
“...With chocolate chipsss?” He blinked, his eyes growing big.
The Radio Demon snapped the spatula in half in his hand. “Right away.”
You resisted the urge to laugh, finding your own mug of hot coffee. The static returned to the room, switching angrily between stations before returning to a smooth jazz.
“Morning!” Charlie yawned. She had a small bouquet of blue flowers in her hand. “Thestral these came for you.” She placed the bouquet down in front of you before finding her seat.
There’s a card.
Your blood runs cold.
Holy fucking shit.
“Who they from?” Angel asks.
You crumble the note in your hand. “Nobody important,” you quickly lie.
Fucking blue Forget-Me-Knots. How fucking hilarious of him. How in the Hell did he find you and know who you are!? You’d burn these to a crisp if you didn’t have so many eyes on you.
You went over to the garbage and aggressively tossed the flowers in, irritation prickling the back of your neck. Before you had a chance to register what was happening, Angel slipped his fingers in yours, and pulled the crumbled note from your grasp. You lunged for the paper, but one of his hands pushed down on your head, placing you thoroughly out of range of his many appendages.
The spider demon’s mouth dropped. “Vox!?”
Shit.
The room went silent.
Vaggie grabbed the paper from Angel and read it herself. “Why is an Overlord sending you flowers?”
Ah, how to explain…
“I…” You pinched the bridge of your nose between forefinger and thumb. “I fixed his bowtie…” You grumbled.
“You fixed his bowtie?” Angel repeated, absolutely dumbfounded.
“Why were you anywhere near him?” Vaggie was in your face now, challenging you from her even shorter stature.
“He ran into me, quite literally, on my way to the club, after Rosie’s,” your eye’s flit to Alastor, but he was nonchalantly perched behind black and white text, sipping the coffee you had made him. Was he ignoring this conversation or just not interested? “His bowtie was tangled, so I fixed it for him, but he had no idea who I was. I didn’t even give him my name! I have no idea how he found me or why he’d even send me flowers…” You slammed the lid of the garbage can shut.
“Wait, you went to Rosie’s!?” Vaggie challenged.
“She’s my tailor…” You were now thoroughly irritated. “That doesn’t matter!” You fell into your seat with a thud, arms crossed in front of you, you slumped onto the table. A wave of coolness puddled beneath your ankles as you sat - Alastor’s shadow you assume.
“You had a meet-cute with Vox?” Angel was still stuck on that part.
Alastor flipped the page of his newspaper rather aggressively, his shadow twirling around and around your feet. He wasn’t Vox’s biggest fan, so you’re sure the entirety of the Hotel crew obsessing over your interaction with him wasn’t sitting well with the Overlord.
You shot the spider demon a confused, yet exasperated look. Vaggie and Charlie shared a look of concern. Husk poured more alcohol into his orange juice.
“Why the fuck, do you hang around so many Overlords…” Vaggie started but, Charlie interrupted her.
“What Vaggie means to say is, we’re worried about you,” Her voice was sweet as she came to sit next to you, crouched so she could catch your eyeline.
“Was it hot?” Angel wiggled his eyebrows at you. “Was there tension of the… sexual nature?” He beamed. Your face turned scarlet.
“Angel, I don’t…” You start but are interrupted.
SNAP!
The Radio Demon’s newspaper disappeared as did his music. Summoning his microphone, he stormed from the kitchen, leaving the rest of you in a wave of silence. His shadow followed, almost as if it was pulled away rather aggressively.
“What was all that about?” Vaggie snapped.
“He looked kind of mad, maybe I should go check on him?” Charlie started to stand but Vaggie pushed her back down.
“Uh, no! No way! You are not going after an Overlord with an anger issue.”
You sighed into your arms. This day was starting off great…
Charlie’s eyes shot to Husk. Pouting her lip, she silently begged the barkeep.
“Ugh!” Rising to his feet, he chugged the rest of his drink. “I don’t get paid enough for this shit.” He disappeared through the flapping kitchen door.
“Not to change the subject, but has anyone seen Nifty?” Angel asked.
“Not since last night. I swear if she’s stuck in the ventilation shafts again…” Vaggie swore under her breath in Spanish.
“Maybe we should go look for her?” Charlie ran her hands through her hair, still watching the kitchen door swing on its hinges.
“Good idea, let’s split up into teams. I call Thestral!” Angel practically dragged you to your feet. Pushing you out the door, he called back, “Hair clip and I will check this floor!”
“This conversation isn’t over!” Vaggie called out after you.
Next thing you know you were following him down the hallway, coffee-less and grumpy. You weren’t yourself before that first cup of joe and the Hotel Natives had not yet learned what happens when you don’t get it. Plus, the whole Vox situation was just tipping you over the edge.
Static found your spine as you walked - Alastor. His shadow was following you.
Angel made a great deal of effort to check every nook and cranny as you walked, but your eyes were on him. “Thank you for rescuing me,” You stop walking, irritation prickling your skin. Out of the corner of your eye, you see the shadow of the table twitch ever so slightly.
He takes a glance down both hallways, ensuring you were alone. “You know what just happened don’t ya’?”
You raised an eyebrow in question.
“Flirting with the Radio Demon like that and then throwing Vox in his face. Are you nuts?” He grabbed at his hair.
“What!?” You barked, your jaw practically on the floor.
“I saw the way the two of yous… Owe! Owe! Owe! How are you this strong!?” You dragged Angel by his ear to the foyer and out the front doors. Husk was at the bar, shooting you weird looks, but eventually he shrugged it off and went back to cleaning up broken glass.
You didn’t stop until you were standing in the middle of the cobblestone road, in broad daylight, with the closest puddle of shadows at least thirty feet away. Alastor’s shadow could still reach you if it wanted to, but it didn’t know that you knew it was following you - so, it would have to stay hidden. It was now, thankfully, out of earshot.
“What the fuck was that for?” Angel rubbed his ear as you released him.
“Let’s get this straight. I was not ~flirting~ with the Radio Demon. I hate him. What you saw was me not backing down to his intimidation. I refuse to cower before someone who thinks they have some sort of power over me.” You gritted through your teeth. “Also, I did not ask for attention from Vox. I did not ask for flowers. I didn’t want it brought up but you had to go and snoop into my business!”
Angel blinks at you, before something clicks in his mind. “Oooh, I get it now! You wanna hate fuck him.” Angel beamed at you.
Goddammit. You’d rip his head off right here if you didn’t like him so much.
“Look, if Smiles is what does it for ya…”
“Angel,” you bite, but he continues over you.
“…then I’m not one to judge, but you should know one thing. Never, in the history of Hell, has the guy been seen with anyone.”
“Wha… What!?” Your face was turning red, not out of embarrassment but anger. How could Angel think that this was what you wanted to hear right now!?
“Yup, better believe it. Overheard Valentino and Vox talking about it. Apparently the guy’s a total loner. I’m not saying he’s a virgin but there’s a possibility.”
You could feel the heat bubbling beneath your skin, threatening to break through.
“Although come to think of it, Vox talks about Alastor’s sex life quite a bit. Wonder what…”
“Angel Dust,” you snap. “I don’t care about Alastor’s sex life.” You were seconds away from ripping the hair out of your head - reminding yourself that this was Angel, you did your best to contain yourself.
“Oh, well you should.” He crosses his arms, a smirk across his face.
Pinching the bridge of your nose between forefinger and thumb, you do your best to take a breath. “Why would I care about who Alastor has or has not slept with?”
“Because he’s heading this way,” the spider demon points over his shoulder. You spin, blush creeping into your skin, turning the pink to a bright red. You pray he hadn’t heard you talking just now.
The demon slips through the front door, his cane clacking against the ground as he descends upon you. You're helpless, your mind blank as he comes to stand just feet from where you and Angel had been hiding from his shadow.
You were so irritated with Angel and focused on Alastor’s shadow you had missed the static creeping down your spine alerting you to his impending presence.
“Hello, darling, you wouldn’t be leaving without me, would you?” The demon’s smile gives nothing away - if he heard you, he made no show of it.
“Oh, no. She’s all yours, Smiles.” Angel practically shoves you forward. “You, me, bar, later!” He demands as he heads for the safety of the Hotel. Behind Alastor’s back, Angel sends you a quick wink before disappearing inside.
You had grown quite attached to Angel Dust in the short time you’ve been here. So much so that his innocent flirting and quick sex quips brought a smile to your face. And because of that - the muscle twitching in your jaw - you still couldn’t find the room to hate him. Angel Dust was pure - despite his choice of profession - and you found yourself again wondering how Valentino could lay his hands upon such a wonderful person. Even if he can be a twat sometimes.
“Actually, we were looking for Nifty,” you crossed your arms, willing your heart to stop pounding. He could probably hear it from where he stood.
“Ah, it’s a good thing our effeminate friend headed back inside then. The Little Angel has found herself wedged within an air shaft on the ceiling of the library.” He saddles up next to you, your head coming to the height of his chest, before holding his elbow out to you. “Shall we?”
You thought the Radio Demon didn’t like to be touched?
Begrudgingly, you loop your arm in his, your fingers coming to rest atop his jacketed forearm - did he ever wear anything else? - doing your best to ignore the fact that you were touching him. He was warm - not something you expected from him. His shadows always felt so cold when they wrapped around you, you had assumed he would be much the same - cold and dead.
You took a sniff to try and grasp his emotions, to see if he smelled of deceit and indeed had overheard your conversation, but instead of the lemony tartness of the emotion, he smelled of musk, of the deep woods after a rainstorm. It was… unexpected… Especially considering you hadn’t been able to scent anything off of him before this.
And his attitude? He stormed out of the kitchen not twenty minutes ago and now he appears here, his smile seemingly normal, not an ounce of stress in his eyebrows. You wondered what happened to change his mood so quickly?
You did your best to keep your eyes on the path ahead as you walked. “You don’t seem so concerned for someone in your… services?”
He laughed, “Oh, darling, I see you did some homework. Yes, Nifty is a soul I own, and yes she does find herself in a bind quite often.” He helped you down the curb and into the street as you crossed. Despite the smiles on your face, the tension between the two of you was so palpable you could cut it with a knife. “But the difference is, that I trust them to take care of her.”
You scoff, sidestepping a dead rat. “If not I guess you have Husk to tattletale later.”
Out of the corner of your eye, something in the demon’s demeanor turns dark. “You would be surprised how difficult that barcat can be…”
You wonder what happened after Alastor and Husk left the room. There was no shouting or arguing but apparently some broken glass? Perhaps it was Alastor’s anger towards the barkeep. Perhaps it was his irritation with Vox. Whatever it may have been, he appears unphased now. That or he’s really good at putting on a show.
You pass the Entertainment District, V Tower looming overhead. Alastor stiffened slightly, his other hand coming to rest on your arm against his.
Yeah, definitely a Vox issue.
Your heart skips a beat as his gloved fingers settle atop yours and you resist the urge to pull away.
His fingers on yours…
Your face heated.
Shit, think of something else.
You fixate on V Tower. God, the past few nights spent perched on rooftops and just listening and watching Vox and his little gang bitch about absolutely nothing were really starting to get to you.
But last night you had slept. Which doesn’t sound like a lot but you haven’t truly had a decent night’s rest since coming to the Hotel. Now, with Alastor’s radio, you could finally catch a few Zs - despite the dream. You were ignoring that it even happened - as best you could.
At first the music was used to drown out the screams of the Sinners those first few days in Hell, then it became something you needed. It made you feel weak to rely on something so trivial, but, hey, this was Hell - suffering on some level had to be involved.
“Thank you,” you finally managed, looking down at your feet. “For the radio.”
Alastor’s shoulders dropped ever so slightly, his fingers twitching on your arm. “Of course, my dear. Whatever I can do to help.” He didn’t sound as cheerful as his words. His mind fixated on the media demon’s tower looming over you.
Might as well address it directly. You didn’t work well with… complicated emotions, but anger? Fuck. Anger was your best friend.
“Vox has been quiet lately.” You prod. “Ever wonder why he hasn’t flat out tried to take you down?” Heaven’s Clocktower came into view.
A muscle in his jaw ticked. “I suspect his systems are still reloading,” he answers coolly.
“Hmm,” you ponder. “For a seemingly all powerful Overlord, the man has one major weakness.”
“And what would that be, darling?” The edge of Cannibal Town was coming into view. You took a right - heading for the old section of the Entertainment District.
You ignored the butterflies in your belly, now kicked up in a flurry at his purr of “darling.”
You wonder if Alastor is technically not allowed in any part of the Entertainment District - seeing as how it is the Vees’ territory. But what did they care about an old jazz club tucked away in the far less frequented parts of Pentagram City?
“Unplug him,” you smiled at your own joke.
And, to your surprise, the Radio Demon tips his head back and laughs. Not his corny showman laugh, but a deep rumble that emanates from within his chest. You’re shocked for a moment, not sure of how to take his change in emotion, but then your quiet giggles join his.
At least Vox was something you both could agree on.
“...back to you Katie!” A crowd was gathering around a storefront, television screens turned on inside - granted they were older models, 1950s-esque, but 666 News worked on everything.
You hastily listened as you passed, Alastor having no desire to join a forming crowd - watching a television no less - to a breaking news podcast regarding another murder.
“Travis Miku, a former employee of V Tower Productions, was found burnt to a crisp this morning just outside the Entertainment District. His ashes have been returned to his wife…”
You chuckle.
It was his wife who gave you her soul for the hit. A minor deal, but Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was your power as Overlord.
“On a lighter note, if anyone has any information on how to contact the Shadow, you can call the studio tip hotline. Asking for a friend…”
The buzz of the picture box is drowned out by the hustle and bustle of the Vees’ territory. Cars honked as they drove by, people on cell phones, clubs playing music for patrons who had still been there from the night before.
“Oh, please do enlighten me as to what has peaked your fancy now?” Alastor’s question brought you from your thoughts.
“I find the growing desire to unmask the Shadow to be fruitless.”
The Overlord stiffened next to you. “How ever could you mean?”
“It’s simple. Unmask the mask and what do you get? Just another mask. No one in Hell goes by their true name and the ones who do are now dead twice over. It doesn’t matter who this Shadow is, they still remain a threat regardless of their identity. It would be like learning your name was actually Alex instead of Alastor. You’re still the Radio Demon - nothing has changed.”
“Spoken by someone who sounds like they have nothing to lose?” He raised an eyebrow.
You sigh, your heart knotting itself in your chest. “I don’t…”
Everyone you knew was topside - Heaven - and wherever the Hell your father was. No one left on Earth to care for you now. Not even friends… Even if anyone were to find out who you truly are, they’d have no leverage. Well, you did care for Rosie, but she could take care of herself.
Alastor didn’t ask further, content on finishing the walk in silence. His fingers wrapped around yours were warm and oddly comforting. Actually, silences were oddly comfortable with the Radio Demon - considering his radio never truly left you alone.
You walked the rest of the way in a background of music. The demon changed the channel every so often to find something that he liked - you questioned whether he was picking up actual radio waves or just cycling through his memory like a CD multidisc drive.
Did he know all these songs or were some of them new to him? Did he only listen to music of the twenties and thirties or had his tastes grown in time? You wondered what he would think of jazz now - it had changed so much in the last hundred years.
You were a block away from your destination when the curiosity got the better of you.
“The radio thing you do,” you began awkwardly, “is that something you can turn off completely or…?”
The demon thought for a moment before you heard what you believed to be the sound of a needle gently lifting off a record. No music. No static. Something weighed heavily in his eyebrows, making them crinkle ever so slightly. He didn’t look at you when he answered, “It is uncomfortable.”
And that’s all he said before his fingers found the front door of “Bob’s Barber.” Alastor held the door, motioning for you to go first. What a gentleman.
Bob’s Barber was a stereotypical barbershop, complete with leather chairs and red and white twirled poles. Inside was a shark demon, dressed in a white apron, sweeping the floor of hair.
“It looks like acid rain today,” the barber muttered.
“Yes, well, it’s a good thing I always carry an umbrella*,” you answered.
The barber stopped his sweeping to smile at you. “Since when do you take the front door, Loca?”
You pounded his fist with your own, “And who’s this?” His smile dropped when he turned to Alastor, standing at your side, hands placed gently on the top of his microphone.
“A friend.”
Not a friend.
“And since when do you have friends?” The barber was not backing down, smelling blood in the water. Smart guy.
“Didn’t say he was my friend, Luis,” you smiled.
The shark demon turned to you, his large hand - fin? - ruffling the hair atop your head. You hated when he did that, but also loved it.
“Alastor,” the Radio Demon held out his claws for a handshake, “perhaps you’ve heard of me?”
The shark demon looked from his hand to his face and back to his hand again. “No.” You didn’t hold back your laugh. “But if Loca says you’re cool, then go on ahead.” The barber leaned behind the front desk and cranked a lever. A panel in the mirrored wall popped open - oh, the fun of speakeasies.
You felt Luis’ eyes bore into Alastor as you made your way through the wall and down a set of stairs. You were suddenly very grateful for the overprotective shark demon who had become something of a friend over the years.
“Mimzy did always love her theatrics!” Alastor’s tone was light, but you could tell he was irritated by the bruise in his ego. Narcissist.
It was early, the club technically wouldn’t be open for hours. The lights were on revealing the slick wetness of a newly polished wood floor that gave way to red carpeting. The bar was at the very back of the establishment, wooden and antique with a backdrop of rows and rows of bootleg liquor - the original stuff. Seems nostalgia wasn’t lost on the old guard of Hell. Moonshine was still made from white sugar, the bottles were random containers of glass wrapped in handwritten labels.
Booths lined the back of the establishment, their red velvet cleaned weekly. Closer towards the stage were tables, white clothes covering their tops, complete with candle centerpieces. It was a truly classic Prohibition Era establishment. Complete with a grand piano at the middle of it all. How Mimzy still managed to pull all this off after a hundred years you didn’t know. Your job was to show up, learn the music, and play.
“Seven years and it hasn’t changed a bit!” Alastor twirled his cane, having come to rest at his back as he surveyed the establishment.
“Alastor!?” A small, rather portly woman popped out from behind the stage curtain.
The Radio Demon’s lips curled as the woman ran over. “By the way, darling,” he leans into you, his lips brushing the crest of your ear. In a low whisper, his voice deep and raspy, the demon spoke, “I’m not a virgin.”
HOLY SHIT. Before your brain has time to process his words, Mimzy runs over.
“Alastor! I thought I heard your voice!” Dressed like a pink flapper, complete with feather in hair, the club owner practically tramples Alastor as she brings him into a… hug? You try not to let your jaw hit the floor. “Sweetie, Doll-face, So good to see you! How've you been? Good? Good.” She turns to the barkeep. “Rex, bust out the good rye, we’re celebratin’!”
God, she was the sweetest, loudest person you had ever met.
“Mimzy, dear, so good to see you,” Alastor’s radio was back to his jovial tune. Mimzy led him to a booth, completely ignoring your presence.
As the demon was whisked away, you felt his shadow twirl about your ankles before joining your own.
Oh, no, no, no. He doesn’t just get to say something like that and walk away. You spin and kick at the shadow, but nothing comes of it - well, nothing you wanted to happen. Instead, you manage to pop a blister.
“Fuck,” you mumbled, pulling off a heel. Red blood bubbled on the side of your foot.
Great. Just great. You were going to half to walk home, across Pentagram City, shoeless - again. Can’t fly home in daylight, too many eyes would be on you and you couldn’t risk anyone following you back to the Hotel. It would be too easy.
You limp a few steps to a table, but stop when Alastor’s shadow beats you to it. The thing grabs a napkin and brings it back to you. Hesitating, you turn to the booth where Mimzy and Alastor were now sitting, chatting away. The demon doesn’t even glance in your direction, completely entranced with whatever joke the two of them were laughing at.
The Radio Demon was a superb multitasker if he could tell jokes and watch you through his shadow at the same time. Or, was it not conscious control? Was it a mindless minion like his shadow imps that fixed the Hotel wall the first day you moved in? Or was his shadow a soul he owned, someone tricked into servitude for the rest of eternity?
“Thank you?” You accepted the token, using it to wipe up the blood from your foot. The shadow quickly zips away, melting into your own. You could still feel it’s presence, however, as you pulled off the other shoe to storm off into the back room.
“Oh, no you don’t!” Mimzy’s call stopped you in your tracks. “Yeah, I see ya’, come ova’ here!”
White knuckled, you rounded the corner to face the two of them, drinks being poured at their table - Alastor with his usual rye and Mimzy with some sort of gin and tonic.
“Don’t think ya’ can just sneak by me,” she chastises. “Ya’ skipped out on me last weekend. It ain’t gonna happen this week.”
Oh, the look on Alastor’s face right now. He was relishing your scolding. Asshole. Why was he even here anyway?
“Sheet music is on the piano. You’re fillin’ in for Roxie.”
“Two days!?” You protested. “You want a full headliner in two days!?”
“You gonna complain? That’s showbiz, kid!” She took a swig of her drink and hiccuped.
“Oh, go easy on the poor dear, Mimzy. She’s…” Alastor smiled, but you cut him off.
“I do not need your sympathy.” You stomped over to the black piano and swiped the music sheets atop it.
Mimzy looked between the two of you. “You let her talk to you like that?”
“He doesn’t let me do anything. I do whatever I want,” you answered for him and stormed out.

“I’ll see you later, Luis,” you called to the shark demon as you stomped back onto the streets of the Entertainment District, very aware of the Radio Demon’s shadow following you.
No way in Hell were you going to practice with an audience - and in front of Alastor no less. Ugh! You’d take the music and practice back at the Hotel, hidden away in the old music room where no one would bother you.
Jesus, you needed a cup of tea or a yoga session or something! You were wound so tightly after last night and this morning that you were grinding your teeth as you walked. Maybe you should make a stop at Rosie’s on the way back, bounce a few ideas off of her, figure out what she thinks you should do to solve your Radio Demon problem. Maybe…
“Need a ride?”
Fuck. As if you needed another problem right now!
A black limo slowed its pace to match yours. The window rolled down to reveal Vox in a newly pressed suit, a sly grin on his face. How the fuck did he find you?
You rolled your eyes and kept limping walking, a familiar ache building in your feet. Angel had done a great job in patching your blisters, and these new shoes helped a ton, but you had still walked all the way across Pentagram City this morning - perhaps you bit off more than you could chew. Regardless, you were not getting in that limo.
“Hey, where you goin’?” Vox awkwardly chuckled. The media demon practically fell out the door onto the ground, landing on all fours. He brushed himself off and sped walked until he caught up with you. Falling in line, he grabbed both his lapels, sauntering next to you. Lesser demons noted the Overlord’s presence, and quickly parted for you to pass.
“None of your business,” you snapped through gritted teeth, speeding up.
“Mind if I join you?” He flashed you a grin.
“I do, actually.”
God, this guy can’t take a hint.
“Oh, well okay then…” Vox’s smile faltered, he turned his attention to the path ahead, but he didn’t leave. “I guess I‘ll just head home then… Which just so happens to be in the same direction…” He continued alongside you another block before you put the breaks on.
“Vox, what do you want from me!?” You snapped, your hands curling into fists, crushing the sheet music you walked all the way here to get.
Vox took a step back, hurt flashing across his screen before it was replaced by his neutral grin. “I just wanted to know if you got my flowers?”
You could feel the artery pulsing in your temple in agitation. You took a breath, stifling the flames itching beneath your skin. “Yes, I got your blue Forget-Me-Knots, very clever.”
“I’m glad you liked them,” he beamed, his confidence newly restored.
God, this guy was like a golden retriever.
“Is that all?” You ground your teeth.
“No, actually.” He pulled another flower from his jacket pocket, offering it to you. “I was wondering if you would like to join me tonight?” The media demon painted his best grin on his face, his eyebrow cocked in question. He looked smug, his aura wafting off scents of rosemary - the scent of pride. He thought oh-so highly of himself.
Your eyes flit between him and the blue flower, a dumb look on your face. You blinked a few times, “What?”
“He’s asking you out!” Some random dude screamed from the growing crowd.
Oh God, there were cameras. Demons were filming. This wasn’t good. The blood instantly drained from your face. “You’re… what?”
The demon cleared his throat, preparing a rehearsed speech. “You’re the first demon in a long time to not take one look at me and flee. To look at me and not immediately idolize me. To look at me and not want something from me. In fact, you wanted nothing to do with me.” The media demon grabs your hand, his thumb brushing over your palm. Small sparks of static electricity dance their way up your arm. It felt different from Alastor’s static, Vox’s was more metallic and surface level whereas Alastor’s melted into your bones.
You felt the Radio Demon’s shadow stir beneath your feet twirling about itself in agitation. Did the shadow know you could feel it? Did it know you could sense its agitation as easily as you could smell the emotions wafting off of others?
“You’re absolutely breathtaking, but I’m sure you already knew that.” He chuckles. “There’s just something about you… I don’t even know you and yet I do not feel worthy of you.” Another chuckle, then a pause, a hesitation. “I would be truly and deeply honored if you would join me for…”
SCREECH.
“Hello, old pal,” Alastor was suddenly behind you, his radio pure static defeaning your ears. You jumped a few steps back, putting as much room between you and Vox as you could muster. You clutched your hand to your chest protectively, Vox’s electricity diminishing with each second his skin wasn’t on yours.
The Radio Demon took a step in front of you, blocking your view of the media demon. He twirled his cane before slamming it against the stone pavement, green sparks flying from where it made contact. His shadow found its place beneath his feet once more.
A pair of eyes and a mouth appeared in the shadow, as if Alastor’s own smile and irises were blocking the darkness. It shot a look of pure hatred at the media demon, its ears curling as if horns, its mouth widening in a razor sharp grin. His shadow looked absolutely lethal, but Alastor looked as cool as a cucumber, as if he just so happened across two friends during one of his outings.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Vox spat, returning the flower to his lapel. The demon’s left eye patterned red and white in anger.
“I happened to be in the neighborhood,” the demon sang, cleaning his monocle as if Vox wasn’t worth giving his full attention to.
Why was he… Oh, wait a minute. Now you get it. Alastor and Vox were fighting over you, not the lover’s triangle kind of fight, but the “Vox has something I want” kind of fight. You were a toy and they were two toddlers throwing a tantrum about who got to play with you.
That’s why Alastor offered you his arm as you strode across town. That’s why he played the gentleman as you passed V Tower. That’s why he clung to you, his hands on your fingers, as you walked through the Entertainment District. You were a toy, an object for the two of them to stake a claim in owning.
You weren’t a valuable toy to either of them - you felt the need to point out - this fight was about power, not about you at all. Figures…
“This has nothing to do with you, you Old Timey Prick!” Vox’s screen began to glitch, his voice cutting in and out with his screen. “So fuck off!”
Alastor took his time fixing his monocle back into place before responding. “Hmm, yes. I do believe we have overstayed our welcome here in the Entertainment District, darling. Care for a lift home?” He eyes you from over his shoulder, his elbow out in anticipation.
Vox looked to you, his face visibly saddening. God, it was pathetic. “She’s coming with me. I have already offered her a ride!” Vox motioned to the limo.
Jesus boys, just whip them out and measure already.
“Thestral is a guest at ~my~ Hotel and as such she is ~my~ responsibility. What would our dear Princess Morningstar say if I let her prattle about with the likes of you?” The demon’s eyes narrowed at Vox, a green aura emanating from his form.
You know, part of you really wanted to see them duke it out right here, right now, so they could finally see who the real winner was between the two of them, but another part of you wanted this nightmare to end.
Something in your line of sight caught your eye and gave you an idea. Spinning, you snuck off, deciding upon Option C.

“You did fucking what!?” Angel practically choked on his drink.
“I left them there,” you sipped your Cabernet, letting the tannins dance across your tongue. “Right in the middle of the Entertainment District.”
Angel was laughing so hard he had whiskey coming out of his nose, “I would have paid so much fucking money to see the looks on their faces!”
“And Vox just let you take his ride?” Husk raised an eyebrow, busying himself with the glasses behind the bar.
“The Computer Monitor was too busy short circuiting to do anything about it,” you shrugged. And you offered the driver a lot of money. A sum the shark couldn’t refuse.
“Damn, kid. You got some balls,” Husk shook his head. You know he didn’t approve of the stunt. All it did was increase the magnification on the microscope you had now found yourself under.
You spun the half empty glass across the countertop, “Hey, where is Alastor anyway?”
Husk shrugged, cleaning another glass, “Haven’t seen him since you two left this morning.”
Good. You needed an evening without the overbearing Overlord and his snooping shadow following your every move. Tonight, you could relax.
“So you gonna take Vox up on his offer?” Angel wiggled his eyebrows at you.
You stopped your twirling and shot Angel a dumb look.
“What?” He threw his hands up in defense. “You can’t blame a guy for trying. Especially…” He pulls up Vitter on his phone and showed the both of you the video which had now reached over a million views. “After a declaration such as this.”
You watched as Vox repeated his mantra and then the video and audio filled with static - Alastor’s doing you assumed - before it cut out completely. Nice trick. You were going to have to figure out how to do that yourself.
Vox’s words were nice, but coming from an Overlord they just sounded pathetic. Like one of your victims begging for their life before you burnt them to a crisp.
“I have absolutely no interest,” you turned your nose up.
“Because of Smiles or…?” Angel winked.
Your face turned red. “B.. Because of nothing!” You stuttered. “I have no interest in dating or fucking of any kind.”
Angel did a double take. “We seriously need to talk about your priorities, toots.”
“Not everything is about sex, you horny motherfucker,” Husk snaps.
“Wrong,” Angel sang, holding his glass up for another drink. “Everything in the world is about sex, except for sex. Sex is about pleasure.”
Husk begrudgingly pours himself another, rolling his eyes.
You snort into your wine. “Did you just misquote Oscar Wilde?”
Angel blinks at you.
“The quote is ‘everything in the world is about sex, except for sex. Sex is about power,” you correct.
Angel blinks again, shaking his head. “No, I don’t think that’s right.”
The two of you laugh, Husk rolling his eyes.
“But you know what I mean?” Angel shrugged.
“Uhm,” you hid your mouth in your wine glass. “I don’t actually…”
Angel looked shocked. “Wait, don’t tell me, you’re a fucking virgin!?”
You finished off the glass royally humiliated.
“Oh, this is fucking priceless!” Angel hit the bar, wooing in excitement.
“Here we are!” Charlie kicks open the kitchen door, the bouquet of blue flowers in her hand. She rescued them from the trash can, fixed them up, and found a vase. “Like new!” The Princess places the vase before you, her eyes sparkling in excitement.
Angel, looked between you and the flowers and burst into a laugh so hard he fell off the stool.
“Oh my gosh! Are you alright?” Charlie helps him off the floor.
You turn to Husk and motion for the wine bottle. He gladly gives it to you, his energy matching yours.
Angel, wheezing, grabs a flower from the bouquet and tucks it behind your ear. You let him, shooting him a dumb look as he continues to laugh.
“Why?” You huff.
“Well,” Charlie bites her lip, still trying to process what was happening. “He went through so much trouble that I felt bad!”
Ah, yes, Ms. Bleeding Heart, you forgot.
There goes the rest of your evening…

“What? You think I'm fucking lying?!” Blitz cowered behind his desk. “1923, Chicago. Esther Hadassah.” Blitz flipped over a photo and placed it before the Radio Demon. “1937, Lae, New Guinea. Hannah Samuel.” Another photo. “1947, Washington, D.C. Miriam Amren.” Another. “1969, back in Chicago. Phoebe Corinth.” Another. “The last one we have is from 1974, London. Mary Beth Lazarus.”
Five different photos; five different points in time; five different names, but one woman. All of the women photographed - although, different hair styles and clothing - looked exactly like YOU.
“This bitch has strong genes!” Blitz awkwardly laughed. “But we haven’t been able to find anything past 1974, yet.”
Alastor picked up one of the photographs of you in 1947. Your hair was curled into a cute little bob with waves more iconic of the 1930s than the late 40s. You had a large sun hat tipped slightly askew atop your head and a boa wrapped around your neck, which complimented your yellow dress beautifully. Your hair was blonde then, not dyed to silver like it was now, your skin was pink and full of life - you had a human disguise, but your eyes still shined their vibrant gold. You were sitting at a coffee shop reading a newspaper, a young lady sitting next to you, reading over your shoulder, her face hidden behind your hat.
The hat covered part of your face as well, but he would know those red lips anywhere.
The demon covered his face with his hand and laughed, an hysteric laugh. “Oooooh, someone’s keeeeeeeping secreeeeeeets.” He sang, a look of pure mania sprawling across his face as the music on his radio fizzled out to static.
“I’m sorry?” Blitz was thoroughly confused, terror growing in his eyes at the sudden darkening of the room.
You’ve been dead a lot longer than six years… He laughed again, the room turning green. Oh, Alastor was rightfully irritated after that little stunt you pulled today in the Entertainment District, but now? Now he was pissed.
In a spark of green flame, the demon slowly burned the photo of you to ash…
Time to go hunting.

“Goodnight, guys!” You call over your shoulder, your thoughts muddled and the ache in your feet numbed by the wine.
You decided you needed a night off from babysitting the Vees. Not like they actually did anything anyway. You owed Mimzy a full headliner in a few nights and were going to need all your energy to get up early to practice before Charlie’s onslaught of trust exercises. How trust falls and circle activities were supposed to get you to Heaven’s door, you didn’t know, but hey, you signed up for this.
So, a hot shower, and a night of jazz awaited you. Or, whatever was playing on the radio, which was almost always jazz. Was that Alastor’s doing or…?
CREAK!
You spin, static zipping down your spine, but Alastor isn’t there. No one is there. Not even the shadows moved.
SNAP!
Another sound, from the other end of the hallway this time. Was it getting darker in here… and green?
AHHH! A scream.
You spin again, and suddenly, you’re not in the hallway anymore. You’re… in a swamp?
Crickets chirped in the night as the humidity licked your skin. Gigantic trees cascaded above you and around you, vegetation weeping from its branches as if the trees themselves were melting from the heat. The world was a mixture of browns and greens as the aroma of wildflowers danced across your senses. And stars… Through the canopy you swore you saw stars twinkling in the night.
You hadn’t seen stars in years.
In another situation, it would have been beautiful, but then the stars winked out, the world diving into a hue of green, the wind carrying the threat of radio static.
Alastor’s cackles echoed around you, bouncing off the trunks, making it hard to tell exactly where the demon was.
“This isn’t real,” you mumbled, the sweat sticking to your skin. “This isn’t real.”
It was a dream - a nightmare - it had to be. Last time the demon had you trapped you woke up in bed. Now, you were passed out drunk in your room, having a nightmare. You had to be.
A flock of birds takes off behind you, causing you to jump. Where the fuck had Alastor taken you!? This wasn’t Earth - although it looked a whole Hell of a lot like it. A pocket dimension?
Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! You spun in circles, eyeing the treeline. If he was going to attack, he would have done it already. That or he’s toying with you. Alastor does like his theatrics.
You debated grabbing a stick and stabbing yourself; pain to wake you up, right? Wrong. That didn’t work last time. Alastor slammed you against the wall in the last dream and then nearly choked you to death - if that wasn’t enough to wake you…
“Oh, don’t look so scared.” Alastor cooed from the darkness. “I just wanted to have a little chat.” The demon materializes from the shadows before you, his smile twisted. You had seen Alastor’s barely contained anger before - in the way he held his shoulders, the tight curl of his lips when he smiled. This Alastor was barely keeping himself together. His eyes continuously flipped from irises to dials, a thread of green stitched across his smile, the antlers atop his head held a few extra prongs on either side. He could barely keep his demonic form contained.
The demon sings, his hands coming to rest atop the microphone before him. “What’s a chat between friends?”
You readied yourself. “Is that what we are now?” You were stalling. You needed to stall, to think of some way out of this. Think. Think! Think!
“I don’t know, darling,” he purred, “you tell me.” His static melted into your bones.
“I’m dreaming. This is a dream.” There, a break in the trees, a glow of artificial light. That had to be something!
Alastor’s eyes sparkled in amusement. “Is it?”
You take a step towards what you hope is salvation, but the demon melts into shadow and appears behind you. He wraps his arms around your body, his one hand on your throat, the other around your waist. “Mr. Alastor!” Keep up the façade, if this wasn’t a dream you couldn’t risk him finding out who you are. “This is hardly appropriate!”
Alastor had every intention of confronting you tonight. He had every intention of demanding to know why you were here, at ~his~ Hotel. He wanted to know just how much power you had. You should have more souls than Carmilla herself at this point in time. You should be an Overlord rivaling that of Zestial. Yet you spent your undead years flitting back and forth between here and Earth? He wanted to know why. He wanted to know how.
The I.M.P. had only recently uncovered such power, but there were others in Hell - most notably the Succubi - who could travel back and forth between the realms. He wanted to know how you had uncovered such power for yourself, being a Human Sinner and all.
Yet, his eyes landed on the blue flower Angel had put in your hair, and now he couldn’t think straight. He couldn’t think about anything other than Vox and how he stood in the streets of the Entertainment District mere hours ago, holding your hand, trying to claim you for himself.
He wanted your soul that very first day you stepped into the Hotel. He didn’t know why, he just knew he had to have you. He had to possess you. You had to be his.
That night in the library when he probed you for your power, he couldn’t stop looking at your neck and the blood thrumming through it. How lovely you would look with a collar wrapped around your throat. How lovely you would look at the other end of a chain. Yet, his mind kept returning to thoughts of your blood. He had licked his lips in anticipation. He didn’t just want to own you, he wanted to taste you.
Thankfully, you had caught on to his little game and shoved him away. He didn’t know what he would of done had you not. Sure, he was a Cannibal in this life and the one before it, but he never had the urge to devour before. He ate because he liked the power it gave him, not because of the power beheld by his victims. But you? Oh, you smelled divine and he knew you would taste delicious.
So when he saw you hand in hand with Vox, well… He couldn’t have that now, could he? And then you rode off, disappearing and leaving him and Vox absolutely flabbergasted. You had shown him up. He couldn’t have you showing him up.
It made him look weak.
You squirmed in his arms, trying to break free. He clamped down around you harder. With his one hand around your waist, the other went to the flower in your hair. Holding it between his fingers, he summoned his green Hellfire and burnt it to a crisp.
And then you had the audacity to laugh at him, “Jealous your little boyfriend is moving on?”
Alastor growled, threatening to bite your head off. Then, something unexpected happened, he felt you suck in a shaky breath. Not because you were afraid - never because you were afraid - but because his growl had turned you on, and your ass was now perfectly aligned with his crotch.
His cock twitched to life in his pants at the thought, and you both froze.
Alastor was mortified. This has never happened before. He’s rarely had this ever happen in front of someone else, let alone because of someone else. The demon didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t move, couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe. It had caught him more off guard than it had you. He didn’t…
You ground your ass into his hips.
The demon’s breath hitched, his lips pressing into your ear. You rolled your hips again, and the wave of pleasure it sent through him had his dick hardening. The demon instinctively grabbed onto your hips, not to stop you, but to pull you closer, to give you leverage as you rolled again.
His breath was shaky in your ear, his body leaning into you. You brought your hands up and went for his hair, threading your fingers behind his head for leverage.
Something buzzed between the two of you, almost as if Alastor's magic was instinctively reacting to your body. His static reached out to caress your form, making its way up your thighs, over your hips, and curling around your breasts.
A small gasp escaped your lips that had Alastor's blood singing.
On the next roll, the demon moved with you, running his lengthening member up your ass as your hips moved down.
“Fu.. Fuck,” he breathed into your ear, a wave of pleasure running through his body that had him practically bucking at the knees.
Your head fell back against his chest, your face flush with desire.
Shit, were you enjoying this as much as he was?
The demon spun you around, reaching out to cup your cheeks...
… and you side-kicked him square in the chest, sending him flying backward onto the swampy ground. Then you ran. Zipping past trees, branches smacking you in the face, you ran desperately for that source of light.
You didn’t dare summon any of your magic to get away. If Alastor didn’t already know you were the Shadow, this wasn’t the time to have him figure it out.
You practically fell face-first onto a wooden floor, having entered a room through a hole in the wall. Yes, definitely a pocket dimension.
Not slowing to look around, you slammed through the door and landed in the hallway of the Hotel, kicking the wood shut behind you.
Catching your breath, you sat and waited, waiting for the demon to barrel out after you. As you sat there and waited for Alastor to come and kill you, the scent of warm vanilla, orange, and mint hit your nose - coming from you.
Jesus, you smelled like a turned on victim.
The world behind the door remained silent. Not even the crickets of the swamp could be heard.
“What in the fuck just happened?” Angel stood shell-shocked behind you. He wore a set of pink pajamas, Fat Nuggets tucked sleepily under his arms. The demon looked between you and the door: Alastor’s door.
He gave you a knowing smile, “Did you hate fuck him?”
Shit. Not a dream.
"Now kiss" *side kicks you and runs* "I said 'kiss' not 'kick!"
*Yes, that was a Captain America reference! Thought it would be funny to have that as the code for the speakeasy lol

Charlie was surprised to see Adam up so early. She knew he was an early riser but usually he kept to his room until mid-morning. She yawned, poured herself a cup of coffee and greeted him.
“Morning, kiddo.” He barely looked up from the eggs he was frying.
“What are you doing up so early?”
“Making you breakfast.” He slid the eggs onto a plate with some bacon and toast, then handed it to her.
“Oh! Well, that’s very sweet of you Adam. I’m glad to see you’re making some progress, and trying to do things for others. I’m proud of you.” She sat at the kitchen island and dug into the food.
Adam pulled up a chair on the other side and nursed a coffee. “Okay. So. It’s more like I was buttering you up. Cause, you see, your dad and I have been kinda on the down low. You know? Just seeing each other and feeling things out.”
She stopped eating, “what?… I mean, that’s great? You and my dad. Are. Dating. Okay. That’s. Great?”
“More like seeing each other. But last night we decided to be… exclusive.” Adam tapped on his mug nervously.
She was suddenly less hungry and picked at her plate. “So, why are you telling me and not dad?”
“Cause he’s a chicken shit, that’s scared you’ll disappointed in him not telling you sooner. He’s been hiding in the pantry since he heard you in the hallway.”
From behind the pantry door there was a muffled, “hi sweetie.”

Trent Alexander Arnold (Liverpool) - Jolly
Day 11 of Christmas
Trent had walked down the stairs with his training back and kitted out in his usual Liverpool attire. He chucked his training bag at the door and walked towards the kitchen to see his girlfriend and her younger half brother Charlie. Charlie's parents both worked early hours and very rarely could bring Charlie to school so Y/n took it among herself to bring the youngest of her family to school instead. And so, every morning at half past six, the doorbell would go off and Y/n's stepdad would drop off Charlie and head to work. It didn't bother either of them much, but their favourite hobby was the Elf on the Shelf and making him do all kinds of mischievous stuff whilst Charlie wasn't there.
Trent walked into the kitchen and looked around confused. No one was there except Charlie eating his toast with a cup of tea in his Liverpool mug. "Well Charlie, how's it going?" Trent asked as he walked past the kid and patted his head. “Uncle Trent, how's it going?” Charlie asked as he stared at his Elf at the table. “Everything's fine. Why?” Trent asked walking over to the teapot. "This stupid Elf." He replied. "He won't stop fucking moving."
"I don't think your sister would appreciate you cursing now, or your mum." Trent said as he poured himself a cup of tea. "I don't care. I don't like this Elf." He mumbled. "What'd he even do?" Trent asked. "Oh my god, he did so much bad stuff!" Y/n's brother began. "He unrolled like five rolls of toilet roll last night, and then he went and broke my favourite lego set! I might have to rebuild it before I go back to mum after school." Charlie sighed. "Where's your sister?" Trent asked. "She's just doing some washing. Then we're going to school." Charlie replied. "Yeah sound."
Y/n had such a long day at work that she simply just fell asleep as soon as she dropped onto her bed and by the time she woke up again, the curtains were closed and she was tucked in. Trent must've come home. She got out of bed and walked downstairs seeing the living room light on. She peeked in and spotted Trent putting plastic pieces of lego onto what looked like a mini Annfield. "Hi?" Trent looked up and smiled. "Well, missus. I've some dinner ready for you whenever you want it." Trent said. "What are you doing up so late?" Y/n asked as she looked around the living room and spotted her boyfriend scanning through instructions. "Just helping Jolly with a lego set." Trent replied. She looked confused. "Jolly? As in Charlie's Elf?" Trent nodded. "Yeah, he broke one today so I helped him rebuild Charlie's one and I'm making him make one for tomorrow."
"You know how my mum feels about gifts before Christmas." Y/n said. "Yeah, but it's fun. And it was kinda my idea to break the lego set last night." Y/n nodded. "I'll write a little letter or something to go it with." Y/n said as she sat down beside him and pulled out a piece of paper. She began writing as Trent sat quietly mumbling to himself. "I don't have this piece." Trent muttered. "It's in the wrong place." Y/n said picking it off the tray and placing it where it was meant to go. Trent simply looked back at his girlfriend and an idea sprung to mind. "Do you wanna just help me with it so we can both go to bed?" Y/n and Trent stayed up for another hour finishing the set before they placed both lego sets on the table with Jolly and his note and headed to bed, only imagining what Charlie was going to say.
The morning after, Y/n had to call into work earlier which meant this was the first time Trent was in charge of morning duty. He eagerly anticipated the doorbell ringing and when he did, he practically opened it immediately. Trent greeted Charlie's dad before letting Charlie in and getting started eith his morning. "How are you today, boss?" Trent asked, taking Charlie's backpack off him. "Pretty good, Trentski. I-" He gasped as he saw the kitchen table. His broken lego set now fixed and a brand new Anfield lego set. "Oh my god! This is unreal!" Charlie squealed as he ran up to it. It was only when he got closer he spotted his Elf with a little note. He opened it and began reading the scribbly writing.
I wanted to say sorry for accidentally breaking your lego yesterday, so I fixed your one and asked Santa to bring you Anfield to say sorry!
Jolly
"This is sick!" Charlie laughed. "Yeah? Didn't even see it. Must have been magic." Trent said as he plated up breakfast. "Is toast, eggs and bacon alright for you, lad?" Trent asked. "Yeah course." Charlie replied. "Are you dropping me off today? Dad said you were." Charlie asked. "I am indeed, boss. Y/n had to go to work early today." Trent explained. "I don't mind. My friends all wonder what car you drive." Trent chuckled. "Range Rover Sport, but they'll see it today anyway." Trent said as he placed the breakfast and a smaller cup of tea in front of Charlie. "Thanks, Uncle Trent." He didn't know what it was, but he felt his heart strings being played. Maybe it was the fact Charlie had called him Uncle. "No bother, lad."

(Queen Adam AU Part 11)
*Princess Avery Morningstar woke up and threw her hands over her mouth so she wouldn’t scream, she recently had nightmares where she was in a realm of darkness and she saw him, the Radio Dream with his evil grin waiting to tell her what she wanted from him, she slid out of bed because she wanted some hit chocolate, she made her way downstairs, she was growing to be quite beautiful, the only traits she shared with her biological father were gold antlers that she could control the size of and gold deer like hooves, other than that, she looked like her mother, in fact her and Lyra looked the most like their beautiful mother, she walked into the kitchen and used her shadow powers to make a mug of hot chocolate*
Adam: Would you mind making me some too?
*Avery turned around and saw Adam, the Queen of Hell and her mother, she loved her mother so much and she wanted to be so much like him in every way, Adam never hated Avery for the fact that the Radio Demon forced himself upon Adam to make Avery*
Adam: Are you having a nightmare sweetie?
Avery: I am just having a hard time falling asleep, I have a lot on my mind.
Adam: I understand that feeling.
*the pair sat together as the shadows made hot chocolate for them*
Avery: How was your recent vacation to Earth with dad?
*even if she was biologically Alastor’s child, to Avery, Lucifer Morningstar, the King of Hell and Adam’s husband was her father in the way that mattered*
Adam: Crazy, but also fun. I got to beat up an annoyance from my days in Heaven.
*both Adam and Avery laughed, Adam was always able to make the young princess laugh, the shadows put the mugs of hot chocolate in front of them and they enjoyed it*
Adam: My compliments to your shadows, they make a really good cup of hot chocolate.
Avery: The fact that I have shadow powers like him doesn’t make you scared?
Adam: No, Alastor having shadow powers wasn’t what made him evil, it was having a dark heart. You don’t have a dark heart.
*Avery threw her arms around Adam, their wings wrapping around each other, Avery’s black angel wings and Adam’s black angel wings with threads of gold in them*
Avery: I know I am too old to ask this, but can I still sleep with you and dad tonight?
Adam: You are never too old to ask that. Your brother Cain still asked to sleep with me and Eve when he was your age when he had trouble sleeping.
Avery: Really?
Adam: Just don’t tell him that, be likes his reputation as a tough guy.
*Adam picked up Avery without any effort since he was such a tall and strong man, he carried her in his arms like she was still a little girl, she buried her face in his shoulder smiling at the rich earthy smell he naturally had since he was made from the dust of the Earth, Adam walked into his room, Lucifer was in bed looking over official royal documents*
Adam: Avery is having a hard time sleeping so she will be sleeping why us tonight.
Lucifer: Of course.
*Lucifer smiled as he moved the sheets so Adam could get into bed while still holding Avery*
Adam: Sweet dreams sweetie.
Avery: Goodnight mom, goodnight dad.
*Avery fell asleep hoping that the presence of her mom and dad would keep the nightmares away from her*
In Avery's dream, everything was starting out just fine. This was a dream she had had in the past about ruling Hell when her turn came.
She knew in reality that it would be a super long while before she would even be able to do so, her eldest sister Charlie was first in line and then her other older siblings Lyra Lydia and Luke.
But here in her dreams, she could pretend to rule all of Hell as their Queen. And all the good she could do for her people.
Alastor: Why wait?
Avery gasped and turned to see the man that was her biological father. She had only seen the odd picture of him and even those were grainy and distorted.
He was tall and wore an all red suit. But the was mixed with pieces of his shadow self making everything on him look more black than red. His antlers were large and black they held no light
His eyes were the most haunting. The only form of any light in them was the symbol of a radio dial in those black soulless eyes. His smile creeped her out as it was too large for his face.
Avery: Go away.
Alastor: Aww, sweet Avery is that anyway to speak to your father?
Avery: Lucifer is my dad!
Alastor: Without me you wouldn't exist! You owe me.
Avery backed away from him: I.....
Alastor tilted his head to the side in such a creepy way, as if his creep factor couldn't get any higher.
Alastor: Oh Avery, you really should smile more my dearest daughter. You're never fully dressed without one
He held up a needle with glowing green thread, Avery's eyes widened.
Alastor: Let daddy fix you.
-
Avery shot up in bed screaming her hands flying to her face to stop the phantom pains from the needle from touching her.
Adam: Avery! Sweetheart open your eyes!
Lucifer: Sweetie open your eyes!
Avery: NO! GET OFF ME! I DON'T WANT IT!!
Avery finally opened her eyes and cried in relief that she was with her mom and true dad again. She sobbed in Adams arms.
Adam looked at Lucifer, their baby was having nightmares and they didn't know how to help her.

Something I wrote with a semi-canon mindset. This could happen, it may not. Just for fun, really
[In Charlotte's room at the hotel, an alarm goes off which Charlotte blows up. Razzle blitzes to the kitchen to gets coffee whilst Dazzle gets Charlotte's bathrobe and wraps it around her. She takes her coffee, drinks it and puts the mug back before standing over Vaggie] Charlotte: Rise and shine, Vaggie! [Charlotte gets passed an accordion, with which she plays it loudy and wakes up Vaggie] Vaggie: *groans* Babe, not the accordion again… Charlotte: jumps into bed Hey, blame dad. He inspired my love of music and showmanship. [Razzle play the same note on the accordion as Dazzle hands Charlotte notes] Charlotte: So, on top of the usual shit {mutters} redemption, love and feelings... {normal voice}, he wants a talk about what happened with the… vibrators… I got a thing down in Lust with uncle Ozzie, sorry you can't come. I'll… get some more vibrators… but that should allow us time for dinner. I know this great place just outside of Cannibal Town we can try. Vaggie: *sits up in bed* Charlie… I… are we doing the right thing? Charlotte: sighs Again, Vaggie? Look, I don't give a shit who knows who I date, and neither should you. *cute cuddle moment* Vaggie: Yeah… *looks down at her phone* Charlotte: *teleports to her side* I know some breakfast will cheer you up! I got us burgers! Vaggie: *snickers as they get out of bed* Anyone tell you you're a maniac? Charlotte: Burger time! Burger time! BURGER TIME! [laugh together as they exit the bedroom. Vaggie gives a sad look. Cut to later when Vaggie enters a room and walks to Velvette.] Velvette: Well, did you get it? Vaggie: takes phone out Yeah… [Vaggie reluctantly hands her phone over, Velvete snatches it.] Vaggie: Please, don't-. Velvette: Did I ask your opinion? [Vaggie looks scared then sad] Velvette: *looks through the phone* Hell's princess in my back pocket. I won't just be an overlord, I'll be the queen bitch! [Vaggie looks sad about what she did. Velvette smiles and opens the opens a file, causing the phone to fly across the room in a grand display and project a widescreen image. Much to their shock, Charlotte stares at them] Charlotte: Hi, Velvette! [The two stare in shock] Charlotte: Oh yeah, I know who you are. And I know you put Vaggie up to this. Seems you have no idea who you are FUCKING with! [Vaggie looks scared, Velvette rolls her eyes] Velvette: Calm down, babydoll. It's a recording [Velvette swipes at the image of Charlotte, only for her to be right behind it.] Charlotte: No, it isn't [Velvette stumbles backwards in fear] Vaggie: Charlie, I-. Charlotte: Was told to get blackmail on me by this little bitch? I know. The youngest and dumbest of the overlords who thinks she's tough shit. *hugs Vaggie* Don't worry, I don't blame you. [Vaggie starts tearing up. Charlotte lets go as Vaggie disappears, teleported by the princess. Charlotte walks over to Velvette, who's scrambling to leave] Charlotte: Ah, ah, ah~. You and I have business. The way you treat Vaggie is… shitty. So, you have three options; You can give her to me and I'll never see your dumbass again. You could keep Vaggie's soul… under supervision… [Velvette looks to the side, seeing Razzle or Dazzle with a bat.] Charlotte: Or… I can fucking END YOUR LIFE!! [Velvette looks up in fear] Charlotte: We both know what Vaggie is. So if I can't do it on my own, and I am going to be thorough, I know where she keeps her spear. *leans in* What's it gonna be?
Ohhhhh! I like this! Could def be the base for a more fleshed out storyline that happens later on!!

CW: Minors DNI, (18+ ONLY), Female Reader, legal age gap (Reader- 20's, William - 30's), divorce/processing divorce, Afton being a sarcastic hot ass, Henry being such a dad, grumpy x sunshine . Faz-Fuck TM. Cringe scenes ft. Henry.
The knocking at your door on your day off stirred you from your sleep. Groggily heading towards the door and opening it whilst rubbing sleep from your eyes with the heel of your hand. The knocks were too light for William, and you weren't expecting any packages, so there was some trepidation as you answered.
Blinking against the bright light, you were surprised to see the petite and lithe figure of Sarah Emily on your step. Blonde hair tied up neatly into a ponytail and wearing jeans with a white t-shirt, looking like a casual woman around your age unless you looked closely and could see the crinkles around her eyes from years of smiling.
"H-Hey! Um...Hi Sarah." You said after a moment of confusion, looking down at yourself and realising that you were wearing William's hoodie again and some shorts. Blushing at the fact this was the second time you had answered the door to somebody you knew whilst dressed in such a state.
"Well good-morning sleephead! I thought I would stop by and come see you." She laughed, giggling more as you gestured for her to come inside and shut the door behind her. Padding into your kitchen and taking out two mugs from the draining board next to your sink, turning on the kettle and finding your instant coffee and tea.
"Tea, coffee?"
"Coffee, milky with two sugars please." Sarah replied, amused at seeing you still somewhat out of it and wearing Afton's hoodie. She recognised it from the similar one Henry had, tucked away back in his closet somewhere in case he wanted to wear it one day. Not that he, nor Afton wore those kinds of things often anymore since the opening of Freddy's.
"So um...how have you been?" You asked, waking up a bit more as you grabbed milk from the fridge, making coffee for Sarah and yourself as you placed them on the counter. Leaning against the cool lino and feeling your attention wandering as you realised that Sarah had a slightly mischievous look on her face. "And I'm guessing this isn't entirely a 'I was in the neighbourhood' call."
"Good good, Charlie's been a little terror recently, but she's sweet otherwise. And you caught me! I wanted to know if you wanted a girly day out, and then, we go on that double-date I mentioned last time?" She asked, making you choke on your coffee slightly, nose burning as the action nearly made it come up through your nose. Coughing to gather yourself, you found yourself looking at your hand and the mug.
"I don't think I've ever...had a girly day? But I'd like the date later!" Sarah raised an eyebrow before she looked incredulous, her slender hand resting over her heart as she looked at you.
"You've never...NEVER... had a girly day out?"
"Nope."
"Get some pants on and get in the fucking car, we are rectifying this, now!" She exclaimed, downing her coffee and making you do the same, wincing as the heat slid down your throat before you half-ran to your room. Throwing on some deodorant, a subtle body-spray and some somewhat clean jeans and a t-shirt over your underwear. Dragging a brush through your hair and huffing as you almost tripped over yourself trying to pull on your socks and boots. Sarah standing by the door and your door keys dangling from her fingers, grin plastered on her face as you grabbed them from her.
"Why did we need to rush again?"
"Oh, no reason, but it was quite funny to watch." She laughed as you locked the front door, laughing harder as you gave her a stern look. Heading to her car and climbing inside, sighing as you rested your head against the seat and closed your eyes briefly.
~~
"William! How're you doing buddy?" Henry called as he opened the office door, making William jump slightly as he was disturbed from his intense concentration on some of the blue-prints in front of him. Pushing his glasses back up his nose, he sighed and looked towards the smaller man. Noticing how his hair was loose and wild despite his professional appearance.
"You only call me 'buddy' when you need something Henry, what is it this time?" Henry placed a hand over his heart and pouted, dramatically leaning against the door frame and sinking against it like he'd just been shot before he stumbled into the office.
"You wound me! I don't do that! You are my buddy!" William scoffed and rolled his eyes at his dramatic business partner before looking back down at the plans in his hand. Scribbling on a separate piece of paper to note some measurements and calculations whilst he heard Henry lean against the desk. Almost hearing the smile in his voice as he spoke again.
"Anyway, me and Sarah are going on a date tonight and we were wondering if you and your little girlfriend would like to join us and make it a double date?" William sighed and set the papers down on his desk, looking over his glasses to see Henry's wild grin. Afton sucked on the inside of his cheek before replying, going to pick up the paperwork on his desk once more.
"Absolutely not, the last time you attempted something like this Henry, Sarah practically bit Clara's head off and you got so pissed you walked half an hour down the high-way before we found you."
"That was college! And secondly, you'll let your girlfriend down if you don't show!"
"I'm sure she also said no to this stupid idea."
"Actually, Sarah's gone to her house and they're having a little trip to get all dolled up for this date tonight." Henry smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck as William dropped the papers and rubbed his hands over his face. Groaning loudly and leaning back in the chair, making it creak under his weight.
"You mean to tell me that Sarah, your wife, has kidnapped my girlfriend and is playing dress-up with her?" Running his hands through his hair whilst glaring at Henry, who nodded with the same, stupid grin plastered on his face. Afton groaned again and put his head in his hands.
"Fine, you sick bastard, I'll come. Just leave the address on my desk and tell me what time to be there."
"Don't forget to bring a condom William, I'm sure that afterwards you'll-"
"HENRY, DON'T BE A FUCKING PERVERT." Henry cackled at his friend's outburst, holding his hands up in defence, laughing harder as William reached into the drawer and chucked balled up paper at the man as he retreated. Leaving William to hide his face in his hands and groan in frustration, wishing his friend had at least asked him before kidnapping you via his wife.
~~
"What about this one?" Sarah asked you, showing you a swatch of an eyeshadow on the back of her hand and you hummed in thought as you looked at it. Shaking your head after a moment. "Oh come on," she groaned your name slightly as she put back the little tester tub. "you have to like something I show you!"
"I'm sorry Sarah, I'm just not...I don't really even do my own make-up. I wear mascara and some lip gloss occasionally, I don't do..this." You gestured to the large make-up counter that you were both at. Glancing over the bold and bright colours that Sarah seemed to favour, brow knitting together as you picked up a container and opened it, looking at the dark green shade inside before closing it and putting it back.
"Maybe we're doing this in the wrong order!" Sarah clapped her hands together before grabbing one of yours, dragging you behind her and almost tripping over your feet with the force the small woman was surprisingly able to move you with. You supposed that she was a mom, so perhaps it was from having to move a reluctant child...or Henry. You could also see Henry having to be dragged away from stores a few times by his wife.
She pulled you into a boutique in the mall, blinking as you adjusted to the new lighting inside and looked around. Spotting plenty of dresses lining the walls and making you groan. You couldn't remember the last time you'd found a dress you would even consider wearing, let alone wearing one, and they all seemed so formal, you'd hoped that you could get away with a nice top and some cleaner jeans for the date. Sarah seemingly had other ideas as she began browsing the racks.
Under encouragement, and a few teasing words, from Sarah, you began looking too. Hands idly flipping through the dresses and cringing as some of the material felt awful under your fingers, others just a plain ugly colour that you wouldn't be caught dead in.
"Can I help you find something?" The voice made you jump and you turned to see an elegantly dressed shop assistant standing near to you, heart pounding in your chest as you looked back at the dresses for a second, brow furrowed and a soft sigh escaping your lips as your shoulders slumped.
"I um..I'm going on a double date tonight and apparently I have to wear a dress..so..yeah. Just trying to find something I like honestly." You say, speaking quietly as your fingers scanned through the materials before the woman cleared her throat again, grabbing your attention once more.
"Well, what colour does your date usually wear?" They asked, making you pause only for a moment before you answered.
"Black."
"Well, I'm guess you're newly together, so matching might be a little much. But I can suggest some colours that work well and we'll figure out style from there." She smiled, making you give a polite smile back as she gestured towards another part of the store. Practised eyes scanning through the dresses and flickering back to you before her hands darted out to pick out a few dresses before taking you back to the dressing rooms, where Sarah was already admiring herself in a dark green dress that hugged her figure perfectly, a long slit up her leg and showing it off.
The assistant handed you the dresses and shooed you into a dressing room, pursing your lips together before you obeyed. Hoping that there would be at least one thing you liked amongst the pile.
~~
Sarah carefully brushed your eyelids with a careful precision that you were unsure you would have ever been able to manage. Feeling what felt almost like a brush-pen moving against your lid and out before you heard the click of a lid closing. Her slender hand grabbing your chin gently before you heard another lip pop, your eyes closed as you let the older woman manoeuvre you and do your make-up as she saw fit.
You jumped slightly as you felt a cool wetness against your lips, making the woman tut disapprovingly as she tightened her grip slightly and coated your lips, letting go of you as she spoke. "Press your lips together for me dear." Following her instructions and feeling some of the stickiness dissipate before your eyes fluttered open, blinking rapidly as you glanced up at her.
"Go on, check yourself out little lady!" She squealed, helping you to stand up in the tiny kitten heels she had somehow convinced you to wear as well. Focusing intently on walking as you walked up to the mirror that Sarah had placed on the floor so that you could get a better look at yourself.
Your hair had been set loosely around your shoulders, styled to perfection and looking glossy, healthy. You were surprised by how lovely the dress looked, a soft purple chiffon with translucent sleeves and a 'v' shaped neckline, allowing the swell of your breasts to be visible as well as the dip of your collarbones. The middle wrapping tight to your body to show off your waist before the skirt flowed down, coming to your knees and floating slightly like something you saw in fancy prom movies. It looked almost a similar shade to purple that you were sure you had seen William wearing before. And Sarah had masterfully applied winged eye-liner to your eyes, darkening your lashes with mascara and the faint shimmer of nude coloured eyeshadows could faintly be made out. Your lips glossy and tasting like almonds.
Stepping behind you, Sarah's blonde hair was tied up into a classicly braided updo, two curled strands framing her face as you noticed she had similar make-up to how you had it. The dark green dress from earlier looking stunning on her as she placed her hands on your shoulders, smiling brightly.
"You look gorgeous, dear."
"I feel like I'm a little girl playing dress-up." You sighed, smoothing your hands down your dress carefully and frowning slightly, making her tut as she took your hands, bringing them up and smoothing over your knuckles with her thumbs.
"You don't look like it. William is going to not know what hit him when he sees you." She smiled, making you blush and smile back, nodding your head as you allowed her to guide you through the house and out to the waiting taxi. She'd driven her car back home and gotten a taxi back to yours, calling for one to pick you up and take you out to the restaurant that apparently William and Henry were waiting at.
You shifted nervously in your seat, watching the streets blur past before Sarah gently nudged your bag towards you, smiling as you opened it and took out a little bottle of perfume. The only expensive one you owned, it was your signature one for more 'formal' occasions, and it seemed like as good a time as any to use it. Carefully applying it to your pulse points, the smell comforting and exciting as you put away the bottle. Sarah applying her own perfume and touching up her gloss a bit as the ride seemed all too short and all too long at the same time.
You made out Henry's car parked up, frowning as you noticed you didn't spot William's, stomach sinking as you climbed out of the taxi whilst Sarah paid before she linked arms with you.
"I told Henry to pick up William, they're both at the table and waiting for us." She reassured, noticing your worried expression with a comforting squeeze of your hand. Heels clicking against the concrete as you both headed inside.
It was far more formal than any place you'd been before. And your silly plastic bracelet felt out of place in there. You felt out of place in there. Waiters in white shirts and black pants ran about with towels over their arms, the walls wood panelled and the floor a beautiful, rich patterned marble tile. Your heart pounded in your chest as you allowed Sarah to drag you along.
Henry spotted the pair of you and gestured for William that you had arrived. Watching the pair of them squeeze out of the booth as you approached, your breath catching in your throat slightly.
Henry had his hair loose, revealing all it's fluffy, curled glory that was still cropped somewhat close to his head. Clearly freshly shaven and dressed in a dark green suit that matched Sarah's dress, crisp white shirt and a black tie, he looked ecstatic that he had matched his wife, seeing him tear up slightly as he caught sight of her.
But you lost your breath with William. Dressed head to toe in black. he had put on tailored black pants that seemed to highlight how long his legs were, as well as how strong they looked. Sleeves rolled up on the black shirt, tight across his broad chest in a way that made you afraid he would pop buttons if he flexed in the wrong way. His greying hair slicked back and his eyes slightly wide behind his glasses as he drank you in. You smiled as he raised his hand and you spotted the bracelet still on his arm, feeling comforted that he had continued to wear it despite the more formal setting.
His jaw fluttered slightly as he watched you approach. Wearing one of his favourite colours and the slight way you wobbled when you walked as you clearly tried to get used to moving in heels. He found himself feeling relief that you had worn the bracelet too, but his heart was pounding too fast in his chest as he took you in. You were a picture of beauty, and he reached out his hand as you came closer, taking your softer hand in his before he half-bowed to plant a kiss onto the back of your hand. Breathing deeply as he smelled your perfume and feeling his body aching with want.
"You look gorgeous, bunny. I should perhaps let Sarah have you more often." The teasing tone in his voice evident for the second part as you giggled, blushing and feeling the heat rising in your cheeks as he kept ahold of your hand.
"I-I don't think I need anymore make-up or dresses. But you look really nice." You swallowed, trying to change the subject back onto him. Seeing his cheeks heat up despite the stubble across his face. A lopsided grin being given to you as he gently guided you into the booth, still holding your hand as you settled in, his thumb running over your knuckles adoringly.
Henry called your name and you glanced at him, seeing his eyes still watering as he looked between you and your held hand. "You look great. I hope this isn't too short notice or strange, but I wanted to take Sarah on a date and then it occurred to me, I should invite you guys along too!" Chuckling and sniffling as he tried to not be too emotional as William remained close to you. Sarah rolled her eyes slightly, but the smile on her face told you that she wasn't really annoyed, kissing Henry's cheek before she picked up a menu to glance over.
"Thank you for inviting me, I really appreciate it. And I hope that it's as fun for all of us." You smile, seeing Henry's lip quiver at your words. Nodding his head before he looked at the menu, trying to distract himself.
William brought your hand to his lips again, giving your hand a squeeze as you leaned in and gave his knuckles as kiss in return. Smelling his warm, spiced cologne as you got closer, making you feel dizzy as you turned your attention to the menu. Still holding onto him as you browsed the options.
It was going to be a long night, but you felt a little more confident to face it with William by your side.

how about some alastor angst (with tears hehehe)?
I've had this idea brewing in my head for ages so you asking gave me a great opportunity to write it
Alastor x Reader
No pronouns used as per
' ' means thinking
Warnings: Ooc alastor, mentions of alastors mother
Angst, fluff
✼ •• ┈┈┈┈๑⋅⋯ ୨˚୧ ⋯⋅๑┈┈┈┈ •• ✼
It was a normal day in the hotel everyone was calm minding their business doing what they had to do apart from alastor and Lucifer. Ofc it was them two out of all the people they was creating drama, you may of overheard their conversation while pretending to read your book Alastor ofc had to bring up Lilith Leaving Lucifer.. So Lucifer snapped back "Oh shut the fuck up you asshole, I bet your mother wouldn't like her son talking shit about people I bet she'd hate you the woman would disown you if she could see how your acting right now" the room went silent the silence was LOUD you looked over to alastor who had strained his grin and his grip on the microphone before disappearing probably to his room. "Lucifer That was so uncalled for!" You shouted at the man breaking the silence "Yea dad. That wasn't nice" Charlie said adding onto your statement Lucifer scoffed and sat down besides you "He got what he deserved talking shit about my wife like that!" He said while fiddling with his ring till you hit him in the shoulder a loud ow came out of Lucifer before you stood up placing your book on the table besides the radio. "Look I'm going to go check on alastor okay?" You began to stride up the stairs heading to alastors bedroom to see if he was okay.
~~~
When you got there you knocked 3 times you put your ear up to the door to hear a loud static sound "Alastor can I come in?" You asked quietly you waited at the door hearing the static sound fade until alastor opened the door with a strained smile "what is it you want dear I am not in the mood right now" he asked trying to sound polite although a hint of annoyance was in his tone "Look al I just wanted to make sure you're okay. Can I come in?" The deer man sighed and clenched his cane harder "Dearest I do not see why you think I aren't okay I'm perfectly fine" he said trying to make you drop the subject as he opened the door wider for you to enter his room "Alastor you aren't okay it's obvious I know how you miss your mother and him saying that was totally uncalled for, I'll get him to apologize later I just want to make sure your okay first if you want we could talk about it? " getting to the point of the reason you was there surprised him 'why did you care so much?' Alastors static rose again before he pulled you into a hug burying his head into your neck you noticed how his ears twisted back to nuzzle into his hair how cute. You patted his back while your one hand ran through his hair combing it with your fingers, you felt your neck get wet. 'Was he crying?' You wiped his cheek with your thumb wiping away the tears on his face you thought to yourself of how much alastor must of trusted you to be that emotional with you. None of you said a word you was both silent the only sound was the static in his voice and the radio playing in the background. You suddenly felt yourself being picked up before being put on a velvet covered bed alastor was still hugging you and he was still smiling "oh dear how long I've wanted to let out my emotions" he said quietly breaking the silence as a small giggle came out of you alastors static rose sounding almost like a purr while u continued to play with his hair the both of your legs entangled as you both dozed off
✼ •• ┈┈┈┈๑⋅⋯ ୨˚୧ ⋯⋅๑┈┈┈┈ •• ✼
Stop that was so cute 😭
*angel dust sneaking into the room to mug you both off before running away laughing ready to blackmail you with the photo the next day*🌚
Here Is Gone - Charlie Weasley
A/N: ahhhh xD I am back, baby! as promised here is our winner, Mr. Charlie Weasley! :D I hope you loves liked it! this turned out suuuuuper long so :) also, we are all going to pretend that Sirius and Remus are a lot older in this fic (like Molly’s age) because they have a daughter that is Charlie’s age AND Bill never worked in Egypt he always stayed at Gringotts!
Request - Anonymous asked: Hi, love! I saw you wanted some angsty Charlie request, and although I'm not so good at coming up with angsty ideas I'll try... How about Charlie and you are best friends at Hogwarts, both pining for each other but neither says nothing, so when you graduate Charlie goes to Romania and you stay there, so don't see each other again for years. When he comes home, you are engaged to someone else, but you both still like each other. Okay, I don't know if that makes any sense at all and you can ignore it 🙈 Also, if you decide to write it, you can make the ending whatever you want (I love a happy ending, but you choose). Thank you ❤️
Warnings: wolfstar!daughter! this is a bit angsty but Bill is here to diffuse the tension xD jealous!Charlie, reader cheats on boyfriend with Charlie (one kiss) and please let me know if I missed anything!
Disclaimer: I don’t own Harry Potter :D gif isn’t mine :)
Here Is Gone
And I want to get free, talk to me I can feel you falling And I wanted to be all you need Somehow here is gone
You weren’t sure what was the weirdest part of coming back to your childhood home. That your father hadn’t taken down the portrait of your stupid grandma. That it was now invaded by members of the order. Or…
“Love?”
Five years. It had been five years since you heard that nickname. Nobody else called you that. You made sure of it because that nickname was reserved for him. You slowly turned around, holding on to your mug to make your hand stop shaking and there he was.
“Charlie” you smiled. You always smiled when you saw Charlie.
He looked the same. But not really. He looked absolutely enthralling. His fiery red hair was longer than when you last saw him and tied in a small bun with some loose strands. There were burn marks on his (very) muscular arms and several tattoos were visible, peeking from under his shirtsleeves and collar. His eyes were the same deep blue eyes you loved so much. And now, the top of his face was covered in freckles, but the bottom part was decorated with a lazy beard.
You didn’t know it was possible. You couldn’t understand how your heart still fell to your stomach and your knees went weak just by looking at him, flashing you that bright smile he always had when he looked at you.
“Hello, sunshine” he said, opening his arms to you. “Don’t I get a hug?”
“Of course, you get a hug” you smiled, walking closer to him. You were going to wrap your arms around his waist but his arms quickly wrapped around yours and lifted you up, twirling you around, making your mug fall out of your hand and break on the floor.
“Shit! I’m sorry, love” he said, pointing his wand at your mug and fixing it in no time, placing it on the counter. “Please don’t tell your dad I broke your favorite mug” he chuckled, making you do the same.
“Your secret’s safe with me, Charlie” you smiled, feeling horrible at the fact that the word ‘love’ almost came out of your mouth so casually.
“It’s been so long, my little Hungarian Horntail” he laughed.
“Seriously? It’s been five years, Charles, I think we can retire that nickname” you smiled nervously, hating how much you had always loved that nickname too.
“No, never. That is the best way to describe you” he smiled, placing his hand on your cheek. He felt his heart racing as fast as it did every single time he saw you. He hadn’t felt that in five years and when Bill told him that they would be seeing you, he was 100% certain his feelings would come back. Well, not really because they never left. But this time, he was not going to let you go again. “I’ve missed you so much” he whispered.
The words were stuck in your throat. You wanted to say them out loud but something wasn’t letting you. You sighed in relief when you were quickly interrupted by your other favorite Weasley.
“CASSIOPEIA!” Bill burst into the room, pulling you away from Charlie and wrapping you in a bone-crushing hug like he always did. You couldn’t even protest at the fact that he still used your stupid middle name, which you hated. And Bill knew he was the only one that could get away with it. Other than your parents when they were reprimanding you for something.
“William” you laughed, trying to unglue yourself from him. Since he used your middle name, you used his full name, which he didn’t particularly love. “I kind of… need to breathe” you smiled.
“Oh, Merlin, I haven’t seen you in forever!” he said, finally putting you down.
“I literally saw you like two weeks ago” you laughed.
“You look bloody amazing!”
“Thanks, Bill, so do you” you smiled. “B-both of you” you said, turning to Charlie.
“Oh look, honey. The Weasleys are here” Sirius said, walking into the kitchen with his husband following him. “Broken any windows yet, boys?”
“Sirius” Remus warned him. “I’m sure these Weasleys are old enough now to not break any more of our windows” he smiled. “Hello Bill, Charlie” he smiled.
You noticed Charlie widening his eyes at you and then at your now-fixed mug, making you laugh a little.
“Mr. Lupin” Bill and Charlie nodded at him. “M-Mr. Black” they said, looking at your other dad. You knew they were still a bit afraid of him. Or maybe a lot. “Sorry about that, again” Bill smiled nervously.
“It’s okay, boys” Sirius smirked at them. “It’s been a very long time since you’ve broken something of ours” he said, glaring a little bit at Charlie.
“Dad!” you rolled your eyes.
“Sirius, love, come help me in the other room” Remus quickly pulled him away and you thanked him with your eyes. Bill quickly followed them, nodding his head towards you to Charlie without you noticing.
“So, I see your father still hates me” Charlie told you.
“He doesn’t hate you” you chuckled.
“He doesn’t love me” he argued.
“Don’t take it personally. He doesn’t love anybody who’s not my dad, me, or Harry” you told them.
“Fair enough” he chuckled, walking closer to you. “I was wondering if… uh-” he said, suddenly getting nervous. “We could talk?”
“Talk?” you asked. “About what?” you smiled nervously.
“W-well-”
“Hey, there you are pumpkin” Charlie felt your hand fall from his the minute a guy stepped into the kitchen. A very handsome man, with dark hair, blue eyes, and about as tall as Charlie, made his way towards you and kissed your cheek, hugging you to him, and making Charlie’s stomach drop. “Hi, you must be one of Bill’s brothers” he said, offering his hand to Charlie.
“Oh, darling” you smiled nervously and then looked at Charlie. “Um, this is Charlie” you corrected him. “Charlie, this is Nicholas” you said, looking back at the redhead. “My boyfriend” you informed him.
“Oh, right! The one that works with dragons” he smiled at the redhead, as Charlie shook his hand, still dumbfounded. “She has told me all about you and your brothers, but it might take me some time to get it correctly” he chuckled.
“R-right. No worries, mate, everyone gets us mixed up” Charlie said, still looking between the two of you. “Wait ‘till you meet Fred and George, they’re twins” he laughed slightly.
“Sounds fun” Nicholas smiled at you, kissing your head and pulling you closer by your waist. You quickly looked at Charlie and noticed his ears were getting the same color as his hair and beard. He was angry. “Your father says the meeting’s about to start, pumpkin” he told you.
“Oh, r-right. I’ll be right there, I’m just getting some tea” you said, motioning to your empty mug on the counter.
“I’ll save you a seat” he smiled before he gave you a small peck on the lips before he left and you smiled nervously. Why were you nervous? Why did you feel the need to explain this to Charlie? You didn’t owe him an explanation.
“So… pumpkin” Charlie smirked at you.
“Don’t be an asshole, Weasley” you glared at him as you started preparing your tea.
“I’m not being an asshole” he defended himself. “I just… thought you hated pumpkin” he said as he walked through your kitchen as if it was his own house and he grabbed the milk to bring it to you. “Milk and no sugar. Right, love?”
“Um… yes, thanks” you said, feeling your heart flutter at the thought that he still remembered. “And for your information, I don’t hate pumpkin!”
“You hate pumpkin juice, pumpkin pastries, and even that princess from the muggle story your dad used to read to you where her carriage turns into a pumpkin” he laughed.
“Well, I don’t mind the word pumpkin” you informed him as you finished making your tea and you started walking out of the kitchen.
“Mhm, sure you don’t” Charlie smirked to himself, following you.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
It was currently day five. The day when the ‘kids’ (making you feel like 100 years old) left for school. Each passing day was worse than the last. You tried your hardest to avoid him. You really did. But it was easier said than done. He wasn’t even supposed to be here. Your father told you that Charlie was going to stay in Romania and recruit foreign wizards to join the Order. But at the last minute, he changed his mind. And you knew exactly what that meant. Bill told Charlie you were coming, and then, suddenly, Charlie was coming.
During the days, you tried to keep yourself busy and did whatever you could not to be in any room alone with Charlie. Because, if you were being honest, you didn’t trust yourself around him. You were with Nicholas. And you loved him. You were sure. On paper, he was probably the best boyfriend you could ask for. But Charlie had this stupid magnetic force that made you want to go back to him. Because that’s what he told you when the two of you went your separate ways. ‘We will always make our way back to each other.’ And now here you were. And you were with someone else. And you felt extremely guilty for the way your heart did a leap every time you saw Charlie. You hated the fact that you felt at home when he hugged you or when he smiled at you.
And at night. That was the worst time. You were staying in your old childhood bedroom and you knew Charlie was just a room away. With Bill. Like they shared when they spent their summers with you. And he would always sneak out of his room and come over to yours to spend the nights with you. And it made you sick to your stomach that some part of you still kept eyeing the door. Waiting for him. Not only because Nicholas was lying next to you. But because Charlie was no longer yours. He hadn’t been for five years.
When you walked into the room where today’s meeting was being held, you saw that your seat was between Nicholas and Charlie.
“Alright, now that we’re all here. We can begin” your father, Remus, started.
You tried extremely hard to concentrate on what your father was saying. You really did. But it was very hard when Charlie ‘casually’ threw his arm on the back of your seat. He was closer to you than Nicholas was and you started feeling extremely guilty for just wanting to lean into Charlie’s shoulder. Like you always did.
While your father kept explaining about the first order and what the ideas for this one were, Charlie finally removed his arm from behind you and placed it on his leg. You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, hating the fact of how nervous Charlie still made you. But, surprisingly enough, Charlie wasn’t even your worst problem. It was Bill. The fact that Bill was sitting in front of you, with a look you knew all too well wasn’t helping.
“Sweetheart, did you hear what your father said?” you heard your other father snapping you out of your thoughts.
“Uh, what? Um, sorry I was distracted” you smiled nervously.
“Really? By what? Care to share this with the rest of the room?” Bill asked, fascinated, resting his head on his hand and you glared at him.
“Yeah. I was distracted by that stupid ugly fang in your ear” you smirked.
“Kids!” Mrs. Weasley warned the two of you, knowing how quickly you could get back into your old antics with Bill.
“Ah, you leave my fang out of this, Cassie” he laughed, making you roll your eyes.
“Cassie?” Nicholas asked, confused.
“That’s… uh your girlfriend’s middle name, mate” Charlie said as if it was obvious.
“No, I know that” you saw him glaring a little at Charlie. “But… she hates it when people call her that” he said.
“I do” you intervened. “Bill just doesn’t care” you informed him.
“Wrong! She gave me permission to be the only one to call her that” he smirked. “Isn’t that right, little Horntail?” he mocked you and you heard Charlie laugh next to you while Nicholas looked confused between them and you.
“WILLIAM!” you said, getting up. Could I see you for a moment?” you asked as politely as you could. You saw your fathers share a look between them but none of them said anything so you walked out of the room with Bill behind you. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing” he shrugged innocently.
“Bill!”
“Why are you with him?” he blurted out.
“Excuse me?”
Bill knew about your relationship with Nicholas. Actually, you had met him through Bill since Nicholas worked at Gringotts. He had never seemed happy about you two being together and you assumed he had told Charlie, but apparently, he never did.
“You heard me. Why are you still with Nicholas?”
“What do you mean still? Because I love him!”
“Do you? Really? Because I honestly cannot think of two more opposite people in this world!”
“Yes! Really! How is this any of your business?”
“I have heard you like a billion times, whenever someone asks you about him, like my mum, saying how lucky you are to be with him” he said.
“I am lucky” you argued.
“Right, lucky, not happy” he said, making you frown your eyebrows at your best friend. You sometimes hated how much Bill could read you. “You know? When you have to remind yourself how lucky you are over and over again, it’s because you’re afraid to ask yourself how happy you truly are” he told you.
“That’s not true” you argued, nervously.
“Isn’t it? How happy are you, Cass?”
“I know that Nicholas has never been your favorite person, but I am plenty happy, thank you very much!”
“You sound so convincing” he said, sarcastically “Look, love” he said getting serious, making you pay closer attention since he rarely talked to you like that. “I am not saying this to be an asshole to you or your boyfriend. But I have known you for a very long time and I love you, and I care about you, and I just want what’s best for you.”
“Bill, why are you even doing this?”
“Because I love you, and I care about you. And I have seen how much this relationship has changed you. I’m not saying is a bad thing, but each day you become a completely different person! I know you think that being with Nicholas is the right thing to do because he’s like a grown-up that has his shit together-”
“He’s like your age” you interrupted.
“But is that what you really want? I have heard him many times referring to your job as a hobby. A job that I know you love, and I know that because you gave up going to Romania with Charlie so you could pursue it. You rarely come to the Burrow anymore, do you have any idea how much everyone missed you? The twins were so excited to see you and you didn’t even play one stupid prank with them! You never say no to them, especially when they prank Charlie!” he reminded you. “Look, if you can honestly tell me that Nicholas is the man of your life and you are the happiest woman on Earth being this way, I’ll back down but we both know that the man that you’re supposed to be with, was sitting on your other side, don’t we?”
“Hey kids, we kind of need you back in there because your father wants…” Sirius said, walking out and looking at you. “Honestly, I don’t know what he wanted. I didn’t pay attention, just come back, okay?”
“Sure, Mr. Black” Bill smiled before he walked back in. You were about to follow him but your dad stopped you.
“Princess, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, dad” you said, trying to smile at him.
“Are you sure? Did the Weasley boy do something? Because-”
“No dad, Bill didn’t do anything” you rolled your eyes.
“Okay” he said, still hugging you. “You let me know if one of them is bugging you-”
“Dad!”
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
You were exhausted and you spent the rest of the day avoiding everyone, really. You just wanted to be by yourself but it was hard when your house was filled with people. So, you hid in your fathers’ bedroom, knowing nobody would go there. When it was late, you finally went over to your room, hoping to find some peace, but when you opened the door you saw candles and rose petals everywhere, as Nicholas stood in the middle. Shit. You felt your stomach get twisted in knots.
“Um… honey, what’s going on?” you chuckled nervously.
“Hey, pumpkin” he said, as you walked closer to him. “I know that you have been stressed these couple of days and I wanted to do something special” he smiled.
“Oh, that’s… very sweet of you” you said, walking closer to him.
“Also, I kind of had a whole thing planned for our anniversary a few weeks ago but, then you had to go back to work and I didn’t get to do it there, and then we came here so… I thought there’s no better time than this” he said, starting to kneel down.
Oh no.
“Um, N-Nicholas,-”
“Would you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?” he asked, smiling at you and getting out a small ring box, opening it.
“I- uh” you sighed. “I don’t know what to say” you admitted.
“This is kind of the part where you say yes” he chuckled nervously.
“Honey” you said, kneeling down to his level. “I love you very much, it’s just… this is too much right now” you tried to reason with him.
“Why? I can’t think of a better time” he insisted.
“Nicholas, I… I don’t know if I’m ready for such a big step” you told him.
“So… you’re saying no?”
“N-no, I just… I guess I need to think about it” you told him.
“You need to think about it?” he asked a little upset. “We’ve been together for two years!” he said, closing the ring box and standing up. “Is it because of Weasley?”
“W-what?”
“Bill’s brother, the one that works with dragons” he continued. Maybe you hadn’t been as subtle as you thought you were.
“Charlie has nothing to do with this!”
“Doesn’t he? Do you think I haven’t noticed the way he looks at you? How he talks to you, the little nickname him and Bill have for you?”
“Bill calls me Cassiopeia! That is my least favorite name” you argued.
“You don’t even let me call you that! But you don’t seem to mind when Bill does-”
“I’ve known Bill my entire life! He’s like my annoying old brother!”
“And what about Charlie?”
“What about Charlie?”
“What went on with you two?”
“I told you we dated in school and then he left for Romania!”
“And that’s it?”
“Yes, that’s it!” you lied.
“There’s nothing else there?”
“No!”
“So, why won’t you marry me?”
“Excuse me?” you scoffed. “Is that what this is about? Are you asking me to marry you because you what? You feel threatened by Charlie?”
“That’s not what I said-”
“What is this, some sort of possessive thing that you need me to flaunt a ring around so everyone knows that I’m yours?”
“How can you say that? I want to marry you because I love you! And I want to be with you!”
“And I told you a million times that I am not ready to get married right now! I told you I love my job and I have so many opportunities now where I can travel or even move-”
“Well, yes, but we both know that once we get married and have kids your job will be more like a hobby” he chuckled. You felt your entire heart shatter as you kept repeating Bill’s words in your head. ‘We both know that the man that you’re supposed to be with, was sitting on your other side, don’t we?’
“Nicholas” you said, quietly. “I love you, but I can’t give you an answer right now” you told him. He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair.
“Fine” he said, grabbing the small box and placing it in your hand. “Then, think about it okay? I love you and I want us to be together” he insisted.
“Okay. I will think about it” you said, as he stood to give you a peck on the lips before he made his way over to your bathroom.
As soon as the door closed, you grabbed one of your sweaters, which just happened to be Charlie’s Christmas jumper you had stolen at some point, and you made your way down to the kitchen to clear your mind. You were glad that it was empty because it was already a bit late and you started making yourself some tea. When you sat on the kitchen table you heard some footsteps coming towards you and you sighed.
“Nicholas, I don’t really want to talk right now-” you stopped when you noticed someone else standing there.
“Not Nicholas, love” Charlie smiled sweetly at you. “You alright?”
“I’m fine” you said, looking at your hands as the kettle announced that the water was ready. You were going to stand up but Charlie quickly stopped you.
“Let me” he said, making his way around your kitchen as he brought two cups of tea. Yours with milk and no sugar. You smiled grabbing the mug in your hands. “So… what’s wrong?”
“Nothing-”
“Love I have known you long enough to know that you can’t sleep when you’re upset” he told you. “Remember how you always sneaked into my dorm when you couldn’t?” he smirked.
“I just… have a lot on my mind, I guess” you said, quietly, taking a sip of your perfectly prepared tea.
“So, are you going to tell me about it or are you just going to keep avoiding me?”
“What are you talking about? I haven’t been avoiding you?”
“Really? This is the first conversation we’ve had since I got here” he told you. “Come on, love, please stop pushing me away” he said, placing his hand on yours. When he did, he noticed something under your arm. “Hey, what’s that?”
“Oh, n-nothing” you said, trying to keep your arm in place but Charlie pulled it up, revealing the ring box.
“Is that what I think it is?” he asked, quietly. You felt your heart racing.
“Charlie I uh-”
“You’re getting married?” he asked, grabbing the box and smirking. But you could see in his eyes that he was far from happy about this. “Congratulations, Mrs. Pumpkin” he mocked you. You glared at him, grabbing the box from his hand.
“You’re an asshole” you said, starting to get up but he quickly followed and pulled you back.
“No, come on, love. I’m only joking” he chuckled.
“Well, it is not funny!”
“Fine. Why are you so upset? Aren’t you marrying Mr. Perfect?”
“Why do you even care about this? Is not like you have any idea what’s going on since you have been away for the past five years!”
“That is not fair! We both made that decision!”
“Exactly! So why do you even care if I am with someone else?”
“Because you can’t marry him!”
“Oh, really?” you asked starting to breathe heavily. “And why not?”
“Look, even if I am not yours, you are still my best friend and I am allowed to care about you and say something when you’re about to make the biggest mistake of your life!”
“Excuse me?”
“I did not leave you here for you to follow you to get your fucking dream job and then throw it all away when someone asks you to be his trophy wife!”
“How dare you, Charles!? How can you claim you know me so well and then assume that’s what I’m gonna do!” you snapped.
“That’s how you’re acting! Whenever you’re around him you’re an entirely different person!”
“Well, then I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t end up together!”
“Oh, believe me, love. Best idea I ever made!” he snapped at you.
“And for the record, Bill is my best friend” you smirked evilly at him and he gasped offended.
“Take that back!”
“No” you shrugged and he started slowly walking closer to you.
“Take.It.Back.” he said with his deep voice between clenched teeth as you bumped into the counter behind you and he placed his hands on each side of you.
You were no longer able to ignore this. You felt how heavy your heart was pounding and you knew Charlie was the only one that made it beat like this.
“Make me” was the only thing that you were able to say before Charlie grabbed your face between his hands and he pulled you to his lips.
When his lips touched yours, the world seemed to melt away around you. Nothing mattered. Just you and him. His hands quickly started roaming around your body bringing you closer as he started deepening the kiss. It was like the first time he kissed you. Like the first time that he said he loved you. Like the first time that the two of you had sex. Nothing had changed. You couldn’t keep on denying it any longer. Your heart belonged to Charlie Weasley. You belonged with Charlie Weasley.
But then, you felt a pang of guilt pull at your heart. This was wrong. You were with Nicholas. Nicholas who had just asked you to marry him. Nicholas who was upstairs, waiting for you in your room. So, you pushed Charlie away.
“L-love” he said, breathing heavily.
“No!” you said, pushing yourself away from him and he finally let go. “I c-can’t do this, this isn’t right” you said, starting to feel sick to your stomach. You were a horrible person. “Fuck, what have I done?”
“Love, look at me” he tried, getting closer to you.
“No, don’t get near me!” you cried. “I can’t- I can’t think straight when you’re around me!” you said stepping closer to the entrance. “I need to leave” you muttered to yourself, running out of the kitchen and upstairs.
“Fuck” Charlie muttered to himself before he punched the counter.
“Hi, bug” you turned around to see one of your fathers, Remus, staring at you through his window.
“Hi dad” you smiled weakly as he climbed through the window and sat down next to you.
“What are you doing out here? Hiding?”
“No” you chuckled.
“You do know this is where you hid every time you stole the chocolate chip cookies, right?”
“Right” you smiled, looking down at yourself.
“What’s going on, bug?”
“Dad… do you think I'm a bad person?”
“What? Of course not, love why would you ask me that?”
“I did a terrible thing” you said, feeling tears streaming down your face.
“Sweetheart, whatever it is, you are not a bad person and your father and I love you very much” he insisted.
“Nicholas proposed to me” you said, taking out the small box and showing him the ring.
“And… you’re not happy about that?” he asked.
“I don’t know! I wasn’t expecting it. I don’t want to get married right now” you told him. “There are still so many things I want to do and so many places I want to go and…” you cried.
“You told him no?”
“I told him I’d think about it” you explained. “And he said it was fine, but I could tell he was upset” you said. “And so I said I needed some space and I went down to the kitchen to make some tea and then I ran into Charlie and I-” you took a deep breath. “We kissed” you told him.
“You kissed Charlie Weasley?!” the two of you turned around to find Sirius standing at the window.
“DAD!” you complained.
“Sirius, how long have you been standing there?”
“Long enough” he said, climbing outside and sitting on your other side.
“Dad, please don’t make me feel worse than I already do” you begged him.
“Sweetheart, what are you doing? Are you not happy with Nicholas?”
“I don’t know!”
“What do you mean you don’t know?”
“Sirius” Remus warned.
“You two have been together for two years now and you seem perfect! You are lucky to have a guy like that!”
“See, that’s the thing! I don’t think I am! I thought I was and then Bill started saying how if I have to remind myself how lucky I am, it’s because I am afraid to ask myself how happy I really am! And then… I can’t believe I got Bill stuck in my head! But he was right! I started to question how happy I really am and I realized how much I have changed since I have been with Nicholas, and… this isn’t me! I haven’t felt like myself in so long! Since… since I was with Charlie! And so, that’s why I told him I would think about it and then I ran into Charlie and he started saying that I shouldn’t marry Nicholas and I got mad at him and we started arguing and then… we kissed and now I don’t know what to do!” you cried as Remus hugged you closer to him. “Why can't I stop thinking about Charlie?”
“Because you're scared of the first real adult relationship with the perfect man” Sirius told you.
“Or because you and Charlie still have a special connection and you still love him” Remus said, widening his eyes at his husband.
“Honey, she’s with Nicholas. We like Nicholas. Stop defending Charlie!”
“Charlie would die for our daughter, and you know that!”
“Can you guys not talk about me as if I’m not here-?”
“Why are you rooting for him? He broke our girl’s heart! And I will be dammed if I let him do it again!” Sirius snapped, making you look at your dad.
He looked defeated. And then it clicked, why your father never liked Charlie. He didn’t seem to mind him when you were in school. Only the ‘hurt my little girl and I’ll kill you’ way. But after Charlie left for Romania, you came back home and stayed with your fathers for weeks. And you had cried every single day.
“Dad… Charlie didn’t break my heart” you said, pulling out of Remus’ embrace. “We both decided to break up. I didn’t want to stop him from following his dreams of working with dragons. And I was going to go with him. But he wouldn’t let me because he knew I wanted to stay here to follow my dream” you explained. “He said that if we were meant to be together we would always make our way back to each other” you told him. “I know you don’t like him and I know that you saw how hurt I was… but that wasn’t Charlie’s fault” you insisted.
“You see, Sirius? Charlie did everything he could so our girl would follow her dreams and do what she wanted instead of following him all the way to Romania. I’m sure you would have hated that” he said as Sirius hugged you.
“Of course, I would have hated that! He would have torn my only daughter away from me” he said, kissing your head.
“See? So, it is actually thanks to Charlie that she didn’t leave. So maybe cut the boy some slack” Remus said.
“Fine” Sirius said begrudgingly. “I guess… he’s not that bad” he admitted as Remus hugged the both of you.
“Can we go back to my problem please?” you said, pushing both of them away. “I still have no idea what to do! I feel like a horrible person!”
“Sweetheart, you’re not a horrible person” Sirius insisted. “As much as it pains me to say it… I guess… I kind of understand why you still feel drawn to Charlie” he sighed. “And… you should always be able to feel like yourself with the person you love” he told you.
“You’re going to have to make a decision, honey” Remus told you.
“They are both great guys but so different! How did you guys do it?”
“I’m not gonna be any help here from the minute I saw your dad I was done for” Sirius smiled at Remus. “I knew that I had met the person that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and I did everything I could to make him as happy as he made me” he admitted.
“That was really sweet, dad” you smiled at Sirius before you turned to your other father. “What about you?”
“Well, first of all, I’m a sucker for guys who say things like that” Remus admitted. “And… he always helps me find the fun in life” he smiled at his husband.
“Look, sweetheart, you should just ignore everything we said and try to imagine your life with each of them and… if there’s one of the two that you just can’t live without” Sirius told you.
“Well…” you said, taking a deep breath. “With Nicholas, I guess I see a big beautiful house lined with books and interesting people coming in and out, raising kids with a brilliant man” you said with a soft smile. “And with Charlie…” you said as your parents noticed your smile getting bigger. “I see us in a cute little place that needs a ton of work” you chuckled. “And we may not have all the nicest things but… there's music and laughing and I know I can always be myself and he’ll always love me for it” you finished with a few more tears running down your cheeks. “And as much as I love Nicholas, I can see myself living without him but… I don’t think I can picture my life without Charlie” you admitted.
“Well, sweetheart, I think you just answered your question” Remus said, as he and Sirius wrapped you in a hug.
“And we support you no matter what” Sirius assured you, kissing your head. “We just want you to be happy” he said.
“I know” you smiled back at them as you stood up. “Thank you” you said, kissing each of them on the cheek. “I love you guys” you told them, moving over to the window.
Remus turned back to hug Sirius closer to him. “That was very mature of you, Pads” he said, kissing his temple.
“Please, Moony, you act as if I am still the same immature boy from school” he laughed.
“You do know that since she is choosing Charlie and she can now easily move in her job, there’s a chance this might end up with her moving to Romania, right?”
“WHAT!? I never agreed to that!”
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
“Hi” you said, walking inside your room, and finding Nicholas sitting on your window nook.
“Hey” he smiled sadly at you. “I take it you couldn’t sleep either?”
“No” you admitted. “Um… I think… we need to talk” you said, grabbing the small ring box and placing it on your bed. You saw the look on Nicholas’ face and you were certain he knew what was coming was not good.
After about two hours, and the hardest conversation you had ever had since saying goodbye to Charlie, Nicholas was done packing all of his things and he walked towards the door. You had tears streaming down your face and he stopped in front of you, cupping your cheek one last time.
“I’m really sorry” you repeated. “I want you to know that I really did love you” you assured him.
“I know” he smiled like the gentleman he always was as his thumb brushed your cheek. “Just… not as much as him, right?” he said, kissing your temple. “I loved you too” he said before he opened the door and exited the room.
You followed him down the stairs where you found your fathers waiting for you. Acting as if they hadn’t just been outside your door, listening to your entire conversation.
Nicholas smiled awkwardly at them as he made his way out. “Uh, thanks for everything Mr. Lupin and Mr. Black” he told them.
“Take care, kid” Sirius told him.
"Keep in touch" Remus said, kindly before the door closed.
"I don't really see us keeping in touch" Sirius told his husband as you walked down the stairs. “How are you feeling, bug?”
“I’ve been better” you admitted, wiping away the remaining tears on your cheeks and yo sat down at the sofa. Your fathers quickly sitting next to you.
“You did the right thing, sweetheart” Remus said, kissing your head. “We’re really proud of you” he told you.
“We love you, bug” Sirius added before the three of you heard the door burst open and you saw Bill and Charlie walking in, laughing about something.
Their laughter quickly died down when they spotted you. You knew they were a bit drunk. Most likely, Charlie told Bill about what happened and Bill’s solution was to go out and drink.
“Boys” Sirius said, standing up. “Just coming in, are you?” he smirked.
“Y-you’re not gonna tell our mum, right?” Bill asked, a bit worried.
“Well-” Sirius started.
“No, we’re not” Remus said, standing up as well. Charlie’s eyes were glued to you. And your dad noticed. “Why don’t we make some coffee?” he suggested pulling his husband and the oldest Weasley with him into the kitchen. “Let these two talk” he said, ignoring the complaints from both of them.
“Hi” Charlie said, sitting down on the coffee table in front of you.
“Hi” you smiled at him as you tried to wipe some new tears away.
“Are you okay? Why are you crying?” he asked, worriedly, kneeling in front of you and placing his big hand on your cheek, making you smile sweetly at him.
“I’m okay, Charlie” you assured him.
“Love, I am really sorry for what I did” he started. “And for what I said, I had no right to talk to you that way and I had no right to kiss you, I know that I just-” he sighed.
“Charlie” you started but he kept rambling on.
“I was just scared because you are my favorite person in the entire world and not a day goes by that I don’t regret leaving you. I should have stayed here with you! I should have fought for you! Because I love you!”
“Charlie-!”
“I know I have no right to dump all of this on you right now, but I at least owe you the truth. And the truth is that I am completely, madly, and hopelessly in love with you Cassiopeia Lupin-Black” he said, making you glare at him a little. “I have been my entire life. And I know I may not be able to give you the life that Nicholas can give you but, I love you more than I ever thought I could love someone and I promise to try and make you as happy as you make me if you let me and-”
You cut him off by leaning in closer and placing your lips softly against his. Charlie was taken aback for a moment before he wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you closer as you pulled away.
“I broke up with Nicholas” you told him.
“Y-you did?” he asked with hope waving over his heart as you nodded.
“I told him I couldn’t marry him” you explained. “A-and I love you so much, Charlie, it’s just…I just got out of a relationship. I’m a complete mess right now” you cried, smiling at him.
“I love messes. We can take this as slow as you need to, my little Horntail” he said, brushing your tears away as you chuckled. “So… that means that…”
"It's you" you said with a weary smile as Charlie wrapped his arms around your waist and you rested your head on his shoulder. "It's always been you, love" you told him, making his heart race faster when you called him that.
“Fucking finally!” Bill shouted.
The two of you turned around to see him at the entrance of the kitchen standing with Sirius and Remus before they disappeared into the room.
“We… kinda have to face them now, don’t we?” Charlie asked you, standing up and pulling you with him.
“We kinda do” you said, kissing his cheek.
“Are your dads gonna kill me?” he asked as you held his hand and started pulling him towards the kitchen.
“No” you assured him. “I promise they won’t” you smiled. You were about to enter the kitchen but Charlie pulled you to him once more, wrapping one arm around your waist and placing his hand softly on your cheek. “What?”
“I told you we will always make our way back to each other, my love” he smiled, kissing your temple. You smiled placing your head on his chest feeling completely content in his arms. This felt like home. You had never been more certain to have made the right decision. “I love you” he whispered.
“I love you too” you smiled, looking at him.
“My little Hungarian Horntail” he chuckled.
“I hate you again!”
“You love me!”
Hello, can I ask for one of Lee Lucifer and ler Angel Charlie Alastor? While everyone is sitting together and chatting, maybe Angel, who is in flirting mode, touches a few private parts of Lucifer while flirting with him. In other words, it makes Lucifer tickle, but Lucifer tries not to show it. When Charlie notices Lucifer, who doesn't speak and reacts too much to touches, when he learns that his father is tickled for the first time, he may be filled with pure happiness, and when he hears his father's cute giggles, his desire to tickle him may increase.
While Charlie Alastor and a little Angel are tickling Lucifer, I want the other hazbin hotel residents to teased, please, and Lucifer can blush with all the teasing while laughing like crazy🥺😍
I would be very happy if you do it, thank you💓💓
I can certainly try!
Accidental Discoveries
Summary: While flirting with Lucifer Angel accidentally finds out a secret about the King of Hell
Small T.W: Light swearing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was surprisingly calm in the hotel for once. Husk was cleaning glasses at the bar with Angel sitting and flirting with him as usual, Alastor sat on the couch with Niffty chatting excitedly on his shoulder about a new bug she’d killed and Charlie was also sat on the couch with Vaggie behind her talking about the newest updates for the hotel.
All was peaceful before a certain devil walked into the room. “Hi dad!” Charlie chirped as Lucifer rounded the couch to go sit next to Charlie but right as he did Charlie’s phone rang.
“Oh I gotta take this, I’ll be right back!” Charlie exclaimed, jumping up from the couch and disappearing into a nearby hallway with Vaggie in tow
Just then Angel noticed that Lucifer had come into the parlor and sauntered over, taking Charlie’s place next to the King.
“Heya short king~” Angel spoke in a sultry voice, moving one of his hands up to trace along Lucifer’s sides
The devil stiffened under the touch but not for the wrong reason, thankfully though Angel didn’t seem to notice.”H-Hehello, A-Angel Dust was ihit?” Lucifer spoke, careful not to let too many giggles slip out.
“Ah so you’ve heard of me hmm?” Angel replied in that same sultry voice, adding another arm to trace along Lucifer’s sides and upper body. “A-Angel, w-whahat are you doing?” Lucifer stuttered, realizing that Angel didn’t notice what he was doing to Lucifer.
“Oh what’s wrong short king? Do you not like this?” Angel half-teased half-sounded concerned as he poked Lucifer a few times to see if he would react and oh boy did he.
Just then Charlie and Vaggie returned and caught sight of what Angel was doing to Lucifer, they noticed he was flirting with the king, but he was also doing something else…
Vaggie snorted at the sight catching Angel’s attention, “What’s so funny Toots?” Angel asked her with a smile, “You want in on this too?” Angel quipped, still not stopping and oblivious to what he was doing to Lucifer.
“A-Ahangel.” Charlie began, hiding her grin and snickers behind her hands as she watched Lucifer squirm a little as Angel kept it up, “You do realize you’re tickling my dad right? I know you’re trying to be flirty but you’re tickling him.” Charlie explained through soft giggles at the sight.
“Huh, a lil ticklish short king?” Angel very quickly switched from flirty to teasy in a matter of seconds, Lucifer buried his face in his hands at the teasing but was quickly stopped as his hands were pulled away but something black and slithery.
Just then Lucifer’s gaze shot to his left where Alastor sat, ever present amused grin hidden behind a mug he was drinking out of. “Fuhuhuck you Bahambi!” Lucifer snapped nervously as Angel and Charlie approached him.
“Cohohohome ohon Char Chahar, we can tahalk about thihis!” Lucifer protested but Charlie only shook her head. “Sorry dad but this is too cute not to exploit! Also this is payback for not telling me about this before!” Charlie exclaimed, descending her hands and clawing at Lucifer’s underarms as she said that.
“Chahaharlie!” Lucifer yelped as he was playfully attacked, “Aww did you forget about me short king? Really I’m offended.” Angel taunted, moving one set of arms up to squeeze at Lucifer’s sides and using the other to trace his thighs making his laughter jump an octave.
“Wow, never pegged you as the ticklish type Your Majesty.” Vaggie commented, “You can say that again.” A new voice spoke up and everyone turned to look at the bar where Husk spoke up from.
“Husker! Never expected you to speak in a situation like this.” Alastor spoke earning a grumble something about not wanting anything to do with him as Husk went back to cleaning glasses.
“The bad boy is ticklish?” Niffty commented, scurrying off of Alastor to perch on Charlie’s shoulder instead who had moved to clawing at Lucifer’s upper ribs making the king buck.
“He is! Surprisingly so as well, Dad what would you do if an enemy found out about this?” Charlie teased, “TehehehEHEHEahasing ihihis vehehery uncharacteristic of yohohou Chaharlie!” Lucifer laughed as Angel moved to claw at his stomach.
“Switch with me Angel dear.” Alastor spoke, surprising everyone as he stood up. Angel only shrugged with his characteristic smirk before backing off and letting Alastor switch places with him. “Gohood luck short king.” Angel spoke, taking Alastor’s place on the couch as Alastor took Angel’s.
“Fuhuhuhuck ohohoff behehellhohop!” Lucifer snapped at Alastor, face burning a red color as Alastor sat next to him. “Don’t worry I’ll play nice..for now.” Alastor quipped, taking one clawed hand and fluttering it over the devil’s neck making him scrunch up his shoulders, laughter becoming lighter and more breathy.
“Aww dad that’s cute!” Charlie cooed, teasing him in the process. “Ihihim nohohohot cuhuhute Chahaharlie!!” Lucifer protested but was quickly silenced and Charlie’s fingers creeped closer to his back as Alastor’s hands moved to his stomach, clawing at the fabric there.
“Chahahaharlie plehehease!” Lucifer pleaded as his daughter’s hand got closer to his back, “A little ticklish Your Majesty?” Vaggie taunted lightly making Lucifer snort, “Dohohon’t tehehease mehehe! CHAHAHARLIE!!” Lucifer yelped loudly, as Charlie ducked right as Lucifer’s wings flared out from Charlie scratching over his back.
Quickly the princess grabbed hold of one of his wings, digging into the feathery skin there making his other wings flap. “C-CHAHAHAHARLIE!! NOHOHOHOT THE WIHIHIHINGS!!” Lucifer screeched, laughter picking up as Alastor started clawing at his ribs.
“PLEHEHEHASE YOHOHOU TWO!!” Lucifer cackled, face feeling like it was on fire and with a laugh, Charlie released him and as did Alastor. His wings immediately slumped to his sides as he let out the residual laughter still in his system.
“You okay there dahad?” Charlie asked him, relieved when he gave her a thumbs up, “Yohou are ruthlehehess Chaharlie.” Lucifer commented sitting up and fixing his hat, making the red in his face disappear as he recovered.
“Now I have to go do uhm. Important things!” Lucifer told everyone, face heating up again as he spun on his heel and went to walk down a corridor. “You mean like more ridiculous ducks?” Alastor called after him and Lucifer only threw a curse out and flipped the bird at Alastor over his shoulder making everyone laugh behind him and that’s when he grinned to himself and decided.
Maybe them knowing wasn’t so bad after all.
(Another note sorry if this one was short or if I did it wrong I tried to do what you asked but I hope you enjoyed! I certainly did, great request! ^^)

One Day at a Time - Chapter 3 - Embryo

Days become weeks without word from Charlie. Every time he sees her, she gives him a little nod. Nothing overt, just enough to send a message.
We’re still here.
After two weeks, he’d found an old pocket calendar from 2001 and put it by his bed, and he marks off each day that passes with a big X. He’s done the math, and there’s a date in mid-December circled in red pen.
He can’t sleep for shit under the best of circumstances, but lately it’s impossible. He’s given up trying, choosing instead to crash on the couch with a movie playing on a loop in the background until a fitful sleep takes him.
He’s parked like this on the couch one night when the knock surprises him out of a half-doze. He fumbles for the remote and pauses the movie before answering the door.
It’s Charlie.
“I’m bleeding,” she says in lieu of a greeting.
His stomach sinks.
He reaches out without thinking, hands on her shoulders; she’s shivering. He pulls her forward into the warmth of the little house, closing the door behind her.
“Midwife says it could be normal or it could be a miscarriage,” she says flatly. “No way to tell yet.”
He seethes. He remembers Maria and Tommy telling him about the Jackson midwife; she was competent, but her bedside manner was shit.
“Does it…feel like…” He doesn’t know how to finish the sentence.
“I don’t know, I’ve never made it this far. I’m not cramping. It’s not a lot of blood. I just…you wanted me to tell you, so I’m telling you.”
He nods, feeling stupid and helpless and hating it.
“Uh…sit,” he says, gesturing to the couch. “Want tea? It’s herbal. No caffeine.”
She nods warily. “Sure…I guess.”
He sets the water to boil, gets out two mugs, pulls the little canister of tea from the shelf, and fills the infuser with dried peppermint leaves. He can’t stand the stuff, but Ellie won’t drink coffee like a normal person, so they always have some in the house.
He glances at Charlie from over his shoulder as he waits for the water to boil. She’s on the couch, arms wrapped around herself as if she could hold back the thing she fears by force of will.
“You take milk or anythin’?”
“Just sugar, if you have it.”
He does. The kettle whistles and he pours the steaming water over the leaves.
She takes the tea with a small, hollow smile and sips at it. He takes a seat in the armchair next to her.
“Is there anything we can do?”
She shakes her head. “Midwife said to check in tomorrow morning. If it gets worse before then, I’ll go to the clinic.”
“Okay,” he says. “I can…wait with you.”
She nods, takes another sip, and sinks back into the couch. Waiting.
The silence presses in around them. It’s like torture, and Joel wracks his tired brain for something, anything to say. She saves him the trouble, blinking with interest at the television screen.
“Is this Gunz Blazin’ 2 ?”
“Uh…yeah…”
“I haven’t seen it since I was a kid,” she says, smiling a little. “My dad and I used to watch these movies all the time. They’re awful.”
He swallows hard, thinking of Sarah.
She looks at him and picks up the remote. “Mind if I…?”
“Yeah, yeah…sure.”
She hits Play and sits back, curling her legs under her and clutching the tea in her hands.
The credits roll a couple of hours later. Charlie has nestled into the couch with a blanket over her lap, empty mug resting on the coffee table.
“S’it as bad as you remember?” Joel rasps.
“Yes. Maybe worse. But in a good way,” she smiles a little. “Nostalgic, I guess.”
He nods. “How’re you, uh, feelin’?”
“Fine,” she says automatically, then laughs. “Not fine, actually. I’m exhausted and I’m sick all the time and my boobs are so fucking sore I could—“
She stops. “Shit, I’m sorry. That’s more than you needed to know. My husband used to say I was born without a filter.”
“S’alright,” he murmurs, his face burning. “You’re, uh, married?”
“Was…or what passed for marriage in the QZ, I guess. We were cordyceps orphans…grew up together after the outbreak, protected each other…kept each other out of trouble. We had 17 years together before…before our luck ran out.”
“So he, uh…you and he…wanted kids?”
“Yeah,” she snorts. “Sounds pretty stupid, right? Bringing a baby into a quarantine zone?”
He bites his lip and doesn’t say anything. He knew people still brought children into this broken world, but he’d never considered it. His interest in that life had stopped when Sarah’s heart stopped beating.
“I miscarried three times,” she murmurs. “We might have kept trying if we’d made it to Jackson together…I don’t know.”
“What happened to him?”
She shrugs. “We ran into trouble on the way here. He was bit. I…took care of it. We always said that was the deal, that we wouldn’t let each other turn. He…he didn’t even flinch when I pulled the trigger.”
She’s looking down at her stomach now, tracing her fingers over the ridges in her shirt, lost in thought.
“I wasn’t looking for this any more than you were,” she says softly. “But I want it anyway…I–I can’t help it. Is that foolish?”
Her eyes bore into his then, not sad now, almost…angry. Challenging him to deny her this.
Joel doesn’t know how to answer, but he huffs a soft, “No.”
She rubs her palm slowly across her lower belly. “This is the longest I’ve ever made it. I didn’t have morning sickness or the…other symptoms before, so I thought…maybe…maybe this time…”
“It’s not over ‘til it’s over,” he says softly.
He wants to take her hand. Instead, he gathers their mugs and takes them to the sink.
“Oh…it’s late,” she says faintly. “I should go.”
He frowns. “You shouldn’t be alone. You can stay here tonight.”
“Oh, no—”
He shakes his head, cutting off her protest. “If somethin’ goes wrong or if you get…sick…someone should be with you. I could come to your place if that’s–or call a friend if you don’t want, uh, me–”
“It’s not that, Joel, but I’ve been through this before–”
“By yourself?”
She swallows hard and ducks her head. “No.”
“Then stay,” he says. “Just for the night. I can put you up in–”
He falters, thinking of Ellie’s old room, still decorated in ugly pink stripes. Meant for a teenager but too close to a nursery.
“You can stay in my room,” he says quickly. “I’ll take the couch. Usually end up down here anyway.”
“I couldn’t–”
“It’s fine,” he waves her off. “Can’t sleep for shit no matter where I land. C’mon.”
He makes for the stairs before she can argue, and breathes a sigh of relief when she follows. He pauses outside the door to his bedroom.
“Just, uh…wait here. Gimme a minute.”
He ducks into the room, picking up clothes and tossing them into the hamper. He strips the bed and digs wrinkled but clean sheets out of the linen closet. After a pause, he picks up the calendar and the red pen from the nightstand and stuffs them into his pocket.
“Should be all good. The bathroom’s, uh, right through there,” he gestures. “All yours. There’s, uh, pain medicine if you need it.”
“Thanks…”
“I’ll be downstairs,” he says. “If you need anything, if anything, uh, happens…just come get me. Or yell.”
“Sure.”
“I mean it,” he says.
“I will, Joel,” she murmurs. “Thanks.”
“G’night then.”
He goes back to his usual spot on the couch and lies down, staring at the little cracks in the living room ceiling. He won’t be able to sleep now. He thinks about the raw need in her voice as her fingers traced her stomach, the hitch in her breath, maybe this time …
He throws an arm across his eyes, trying to block out the thoughts. A small, grief-blackened part of him hates that he cares. Before Ellie, he could numb the pain with booze and pills and a lucrative career in smuggling. But he’s not that man anymore. It would be so much easier if he were, if he couldn’t feel the little flicker of hope in his chest.
The calendar and pen dig into his hip, and he pulls them out of his pocket. It’s well after midnight, so without thinking, he uncaps the pen and crosses off another day.
He must have fallen asleep. When he opens his eyes, the room is lighter, and Charlie is nudging his shoulder.
He’s upright before he’s fully awake. “What is it? Y’okay?”
“I’m fine,” she says quietly. “I’m going to go. The midwife said she’d see me at 7:00. I need to go home and change.”
“Right, okay. Do you, uh…do you want me to come with–”
“No,” she says quickly. “I haven’t told her…or anyone…about you.”
“Right,” he blinks. “Um. Let me know…okay?”
She nods, holding her arms around her middle like she could protect herself from the worst. Without thinking, he reaches out and touches the back of her hand. She doesn’t pull away.
“Sorry,” he mutters, withdrawing. “I…I hope it works out,” he says lamely.
“Do you?” she asks, with an edge of bitterness in her voice. She’s immediately contrite. “I’m sorry. You’ve been kind, and that was…cruel. Missing my filter again.”
“It’s…fine.”
He wants to tell her he does have hope, despite himself, but she’s already out the door.
Charlie hasn’t been gone for five minutes when there’s a knock.
Shit.
He’s on the schedule for a construction job and he’d promised to meet Tommy early. Now he’s late.
“I’m comin’,” he mutters, wincing at the stiffness in his back. “Hold your goddamned horses.”
“Long night?” Tommy smirks on the other side of the door. “Thought I saw Charlie doin’ the walk of shame–”
“Shut it,” Joel growls, surprising himself at the bite in his voice. “Don’t say another fuckin’ word.”
Tommy’s hands coming up in mock defense. “Whoa, easy. Didn’t know it was like that.”
“It’s not,” Joel snaps.
“Alright,” he says, peering at his older brother curiously. “So…you ready to go?”
“Yeah. Lemme get my stuff.”
He’s distracted all day. The work is simple enough–framing a new barn for the sheep, to replace one that’s been infested by termites beyond repair. It should be easy, but he’s overtired and he can’t seem to make his hands behave. Tommy keeps having to repeat himself, giving Joel curious looks.
“You’re losin’ it, big brother,” he says amiably when Joel brings him a jar of the wrong-size screws for the second time in a row.
It’s mid-afternoon when he brings the hammer down on his middle finger. He watches the whole thing as though in slow motion, knowing exactly what’s going to happen well before he feels the pain, but he’s powerless to stop it.
“Fuuuuuuuck,” he hisses, shaking out his injured hand. Purplish red blood is already blooming under the wide, flat nail. He resists the urge to stick the finger in his mouth to soothe the throbbing ache like a child.
“You break it?” Tommy’s looking over his shoulder.
“No,” he growls. “Just a bruise.”
“Yeah, right. Well, you’re done for today,” Tommy says. “Go home. Made good progress, anyway, we’re almost done.”
Joel shoots him a look, but it doesn’t affect his younger brother in the slightest. It never does. So he relents, packing his tools and trudging away, finger throbbing.
He sees her on the walk home.
Charlie is standing with someone just outside the caf. She looks about as tired as he feels, but then she sees him and brightens, the subtlest glimmer as she catches his eye. The look stops him in mid-stride, frozen in the middle of the street.
She gives him a little nod.
Warmth spreads through his chest, a flood of relief, and that blasted hope again.
We’re still here.

Lucifer Morningstar stood on the deck of the family's chalet, breathing the crisp mountain air, determined to carry on this family tradition. Even if he was doing it alone. He'd do it for Charlie.
Blazing autumn leaves floated down from the towering oaks and caused ripples along the surface of the mirror lake below. Lucifer gripped to the rough hewn railing, grounding himself, determined to just be normal for once since the divorce.
The two-story cabin was the perfect place. With its walls mostly made of windows overlooking the last gasp of beautiful fall foliage, a fully stocked kitchen, fire pit, two hot tubs, and the smell of wood smoke still lingering from the fireplace he'd prepped.
Charlie had always loved their farewell to fall getaway. And Lucifer was ready for a relaxing weekend, bundled up in cozy sweaters with warm mugs of spiced cider.
And Charlie's new girlfriend would just make the merrier.
Sure, Lucifer had met her before, sure, he'd made a bit of a fool of himself trying so hard not to be awkward that he'd overdone the gracious host bit and come back around to painfully awkward again.
So, there was a lot riding on this relaxing weekend.
Lucifer jumped, catching his sweater on the balcony when he registered the sound of tires crunching their way up the gravel drive.
He hurried back into the main living room, grabbing up the last few things—throwing fluffy pillows back onto the loveseat and the two armchairs, making sure everything was perfect.
He paused at the wall of windows. Already grinning as he saw Charlie's tank of an old SUV made its way across the carpet of leaves. The front doors open, depositing his beaming daughter and her scowling girlfriend out into the autumn air. When one of the back doors opened, and a long pair of legs emerged.
Right. Charlie had asked to bring her roommate this year.
Look, call Lucifer old fashion—his daughter was bi and so was he—but he'd blanched when he heard his little girl had a male roommate. Thought the school was being way too modern when they changed the dorm policy to co-ed roommates.
But the young man before him was nothing like Lucifer pictured for a college roommate.
Alastor stood there, exuding a calm assurance that seemed almost out of place amidst the playful chaos of falling leaves.
His skin was a warm, rich brown, contrasting beautifully with the soft dark curls that framed his face. Round, wire-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, framing bright hazel eyes. A well-tailored coat hugged his long and lean frame.
Despite the nip in the air, he looked impeccably comfortable, like the cold wouldn't dare touch him without permission.
A pretty gay twink if he'd ever seen one.
Not remotely Lucifer's type, not going to be a problem.
With a deep breath, the short blonde turned away from the wall of windows, stealing himself to play the indulgent parent who just wanted his grown little girl to have a good weekend with her friends.
Alastor. The kid's name was Alastor. He remembered Charlie practically dancing on his heartstrings with how her roommate was facing his first school break without his mother.
Lucifer was pretty much incapable of refusing his daughter's wishes, divorced dad guilt, but how could he ever say no after that?
The chilled autumn air gusted in as Lucifer opened the front door and stepped out onto the porch--and right into the middle of a conversation.
"Yeah my family's been coming to this challette for years." Charlie was saying gleefully.
"Chalet, my dear." Alastor interjected in a voice that was shockingly smooth as velvet. "It's pronounced shal-ay,"
"Whatever," Charlie shrugged, unfazed by the correction, like it happened all the time.
"Yeah, whatever." Vaggie echoed emphatically, shooting a glare at Alastor over Charlie's shoulder. "Not like it matters."
Alastor's eyes rolled from the picturesque scenery towards the short woman with long black hair and tawny skin. A silent glare passed between them.
"Hey Dad!" Charlie called out, lighting up like a sunset as she bounded towards him. Her laugh was like wind chimes and her smile was playful.
Warming Lucifer right to his core.
"Hey Char-Char!" He barely had time to brace himself before Charlie collided with him full-force, her energy and arms wrapping around him. Hugging him without an ounce of holding back.
God, he missed this.
The mountains were already working their magic.
"Whoa, careful there." Lucifer laughed, his heart swelling happily. "Missed you so much kiddo."
"Missed you too, dad." Charlie set him back on his feet with a grin.
Vaggie was right at her side, just behind, loyal and stern-faced as ever. Alastor lingered further behind.
Lucifer turned to his daughter's girlfriend, unsure if he should go for a handshake before he extended his arms and gave what was a slightly more restrained hug.
Okay, so it was stiff and awkward, but he was trying.
Vaggie reciprocated politely, though the discomfort lingered between them like an unwanted guest.
"Good to see you again, Mr. Moringstar,"
"Please, call me Lucifer." He reminded her gently, trying to bridge a little of the gap formality put between them.
Vaggie gave a brief nod—but hey, it was a start.
Lucifer then shifted his attention to Alastor and before he could worry about making his terrible first impression—it was like the swirling red and gold leaves all went still.
The air went from brisk to sharply cold, biting into Lucifer's exposed skin and turning his face pink.
From a distance, through the window, he'd imagined Alastor was a sweet little harmless gay boy.
But now, Lucifer's assumptions were crumbling under the reality of Alastor's silently overwhelming presence.
Alastor stood there, the little smile playing on his lips, exuding an undeniable aura of dominance and control.
Those hazel eyes that looked soft and inviting through the window now pinned him like a butterfly with his precise gaze.
It was like staring down a damn mountain lion, a graceful creature that was only staying still while it suited him.
Lucifer questioned every ounce of gaydar he'd ever had.
And then, the hazel eyes locked on his. And Lucifer felt like the mountain was about to slip out from under his feet.
Those eyes weren't as remotely soft as he imagined. And it was like they could see right through the thick knit of his cozy sweater. To everything that Lucifer would rather hide.
Here he was, recently divorced, depressed, an insomniac who soothed his emotions and stilled his mind by making fool meals at midnight, being looked at like that.
His self-esteem still hadn't recovered from the end of his relationship with Lilith, and he was utterly unprepared for such an intense, self-assured man--who was half his age!
Then, the corners of Alastor's lips curled into a smile--and even the suggestion that he liked what he saw, sent heat rushing into Lucifer's cheeks.
"Oh, Alastor." Charlie seemed to appear suddenly, breaking the moment like a twig snapping underfoot. She stepped forward, grabbing the younger man's arm with the kind of graceless enthusiasm that only his daughter could pull off. "This is my dad, Lucifer."
Alastor gave a chuckle that made Lucifer forget there was a chill in the air.
"Mr.Morningstar." Alastor replied smoothly, extending a hand towards the blonde.
Who had to get over the fact that his charm cast an instant spell and were wrapping around Lucifer like silk.
Lucifer extended his hand on instinct, about to give the same reminder as he gave Vaggie about using his first name, hoping that it would dispel some of the swirling tension simmering in the air between them.
But, before Lucifer could form the words, he felt his h and enveloped in Alastor's.
The dark-haired man's grasp was firm as iron. As if that weren't enough to knock Lucifer off balance, Alastor's other hand came to clasp his wrist, pulling him in with a silent force that sent his heart racing into his throat.
It was a dominant, decisive gesture that left no room for his intentions to be misunderstood.
Lucifer stumbled over his words and nearly over his own feet, leaves crunching under his boots.
"The pleasure's all yours, isn't it?" Alastor's voice was all smoothness and certainty.
"Uh, yeah." Lucifer managed to reply, realizing that his voice came out like a breathless murmur.
He really hoped that his flamed cheeks would be counted to the chilly wind nipping at his exposed skin--not the fluttering spark he was promptly smothering.
Lucifer finally remembered to release Alastor's hand, and fully retreat back into the role of host.
"Let me help with the back—bags." The words tumbled out quickly as he hurried around Charlie's old SUV. Anything to redirect his focus from this heat rising inside him.
Busying himself helping Charlie and Vaggie, and ignoring the young man next to him also moving to help, with that silent smirk.
Lucifer went to grab a suitcase that he recognized belonged to his daughter—which he should have realized was over-packed as always—and nearly fell from the trunk onto him.
Alastor's hand shot out, catching the bag by the handle, and setting it neatly on its wheels.
"Careful," he teased lightly, in that ringing velvet voice of his. "Not to bite off more than you can chew."
Lucifer swallowed, refusing to let his mind lean into the implication of those words.
"I can handle it." Lucifer huffed, grabbing the suitcase stubbornly.
Alastor gave a smirk and a shrug.
Lucifer hurried up the front porch into the chalet, realizing how severely he'd underestimated Alastor's slender frame and fastidious dressing.
There was nothing twink about Alastor.
He was a commanding presence wrapped in charm and elegance. And everything Lucifer found attractive.
That thought nearly stopped the man dead in his tracks.
Sure, he was recently divorced from Lilith. And he'd been in a dry spell ever since—but he quickly banished the entire stupid notion. There were only a million reasons why it wasn't even worth a thought.
He was a recently divorced dad, not so much rocking the dad bod as falling into it one midnight snack at a time. He'd never been confident enough to approach anyone without Lilith. There was no way he would be interested in Lucifer. Alastor was young, gorgeous, and obviously charismatic.
Besides, the kid was half his age.
Lucifer shook the thought from his head.
This weekend was about reconnecting with Charlie, a growing bond with Vaggie, hopefully. And fully restarting this family tradition.
Not a tryst with a pretty boy half his age.
🍂🍁🍃
Lucifer lead the way up the wide staircase to the second floor of the chalet.
This part of the house was mostly loft. Another comfortable seating area that looked down over the living room and fireplace. But it was where most of the bedrooms were in the cabin.
Charlie and Vaggie were talking animatedly all the way up and past the seating area towards the bedrooms. Talking about the beautiful scenic views and the winding road that had gotten them up the mountain.
But Lucifer's attention kept wandering right back to Alastor. Who wasn't doing anything but carrying the girls' extra bags and lingering behind and being silent and cryptic.
"Here we are," Lucifer announced, pushing open the door to Charlie's room with his elbow.
It was quaint, really, but he'd redecorated a bit since Charlie had grown up. And he really hoped he hadn't overdone it. Charlie had liked it bright and colorful when she was a kid, except for that one emo phase.
But now, there were simple flower curtains and soft plush carpeting. Overlooking the towering forest outside.
"I made the room up for two, you know, obviously, because you're grown now." Lucifer said, meaning to sound supportive, though he saw Charlie's cheeks get as pink as his were outside. And Vaggie looking anywhere but at him. "Which, I understand and I'm not judging because obviously...you're an adult and—" Lucifer trailed off, painfully awkward—
Before Charlie thankfully but gracelessly interrupted. "Thanks, Dad! The room looks great."
Alastor chuckled softly, stepping into the girl's room only long enough to drop off the two bags he was holding. Before stepping back over the threshold neatly.
Like a gentleman wouldn't be standing too long in a lady's room.
Except a gentleman wouldn't look at him like he would devour him like he was going to devour him the first time they met. Or, like, right now, in his daughter's room.
Vaggie and Charlie went into their room. Leaving Lucifer to find himself alone in the hallway. With Alastor.
"Uh, yours is over there." Lucifer quickly gestured across the hall, trying to make sure his voice cut through the thick tension.
"Thank you." Alastor said simply, with what must be his polite smile—and not his I'm about to undress you with my eyes smile.
The younger man stepped alertly inside, dropping off only a simple weekend bag and a leather school bag.
Lucifer turned, only to see Alastor leaning over the doorway towards him. And he suddenly felt like he was standing too close to a roaring fire.
"Where is your room, Mr. Morningstar?" Alastor's voice cut through the quiet, smooth and spiked with something that made Lucifer's pulse quicken. It was pointed and almost suggestive.
"Not up here." Lucifer blurted around the tumultuous flutter in his chest. He realized it came out almost, defensive. That he was nearly snapping at this stranger for this thing that was mostly going on in his head.
Though the way Alastor arched his eyebrow, Lucifer seriously doubted it was all in his head.
"Downstairs. I mean," Lucifer said, trying to smooth his little outburst over.His mind raced, trying to think of anything to fill this charged silence between them.
"Dad has the master bedroom downstairs," Charlie chirped, her sudden reappearance in the hallway breaking the spell. Her eyes were bright and sparkling with something. "It even has its own hot tub!"
Lucifer swallowed, thickly.
"How interesting." Alastor murmured, a crooked smile tugging onto the corner of his lips. Fucking suggestive again.
"It's not, all that interesting." Lucifer said, too quickly jumping on this irrational urge to stifle whatever idea had taken hold. "And you won't be seeing it, anyway."
He muttered under his breath, languishing in that same stretching silence, before Lucifer forced a hollow chuckle to break it.
"So, I'm sure you kids had a long drive from school up the mountain." Lucifer fumbled the words a little bit, swinging his arms as he stepped back towards the stairs. "So I made an early dinner. Fall favorites I know Char-Char loves."
"That sounds amazing, sir," Vaggie said, strolling through whatever moment of silent communication Alastor and Charlie were having between them.
"Yeah, long drive, mountain, food." He gestured down the stairs, grateful to move down towards them.
"Food sounds amazing right about now." Charlie declared, following after him, passing him on the stairs in her enthusiasm to get down to the kitchen.
Lucifer grabbed the railing, pausing halfway down the curved staircase—realizing he knew and missed the feeling of the weight of Alastor's gaze on his back.
Neither Alastor or Vaggie had moved.
She had stepped into his line of sight, her stance firm and uncompromising, with her hands planted on her hips. Like she was daring Alastor to make another move.
The much taller man was meeting Vaggie's sternness with a little bemused look behind his round glasses. Lucifer felt like he was eavesdropping on a private conversation.
But before the tension could escalate further, Alastor inclined his head, and gestured gracefully for Vaggie to walk ahead of him.
The woman, three times as fierce as she was tall, gave a short, satisfied nod, and headed for the stairs behind Lucifer.
***
The kitchen was his realm.
It was his studio and his sanctuary where Lucifer could control and create whatever he wanted. And the smell of roasted butternut squash and cinnamon scented the air and made everything feel warm and fuzzy.
"Here we are." Lucifer murmured to himself, rolling up his sleeves with practiced ease.
He could move through this space with confidence, arranging platers with finesse.
Pumpkin soup simmered gently on the stove, its rich color a warm promise. He'd also made an arugula salad with pecans and cranberries, will the apple tart was cooling on the counter, ready for dessert.
Charlie bounded into the kitchen, her eyes widening with delight that soothed every ache in Lucifer's old soul.
"You really outdid yourself, Dad!"
"Oh, thanks, sweetie."
The clinking of cutlery and the soft murmur of conversation filled the cozy dining room, casting a warm glow over the table as the sun set beyond the wall of windows.
Lucifer sat happily at the head of the small but polished mahogany table, just enjoying the company. His eyes flitting between emptying dishes and the easy conversation flowing in peaks and valleys.
"Midterms were killer." Charlie groaned.
Vaggie put her hand on Charlie's, drawing Lucifer's eyes to the movement. And it warmed his heart too. "You did great hon, I know you rocked the performing arts major."
"Well, someone has to keep politicians honest, like you're going to, Vaggie."
Sure, it was cute, sweet talk, but really Lucifer didn't mind. He was glad his daughter had this. That the girls seemed to take such good care of each other. And support each other.
"Performing arts is hard, but it's worth every second."
Lucifer nodded along. Offering an occasional chuckle or hum of agreement.
He wasn't exactly sure what he could add to the conversation, but he knew he had to keep focused on anything but the magnetic pull towards Alastor's seat at the table.
The gorgeous brunette younger man sat across the table from him, muted but present, like a shadow cast by candlelight.
"Oh, Al," Charlie started, startling her father. Wondering if she had read his wandering mind—but also wondering if anyone but charlie would dare to call Alastor a nickname.
"You haven't been talking much. Did you tell Dad your major?"
The brunette lifted his eyes, making Lucifer's breath catch, before he gave a casual shrug as he stirred his soup.
"I'm a double major." He said, his eyes catching Lucifer's. And the older man's breath. "in performing arts and forensic science."
Though the answer made his own brow raise. "Wow, that's...an unusual combination."
Alastor smiled like he had a secret everyone else wanted to know.
"I've been told I have...eclectic tastes." He said, smoothly, leaning back in his chair like he commanded all the air in the room. "But, I know exactly what I like, and where my talents are."
The words hung in the air, a subtle challenge that was sending another one of those damn shivers down Lucifer's spine.
Before the heat could rise back into his cheeks, Lucifer stood. "I think it's time for dessert," he announced, retreating to the safety of the kitchen.
When he returned, with a tray of apple tart and ice cream, his gaze involuntarily flickered over towards Alastor.
The younger man was leaned back in his chair, his hands rested on the arms, his posture open wide...and inviting.
"Who wants whipped cream?" Lucifer said quickly, only to wince at how easy that would be to twist around.
He heard Alastor chuckle low as both girls asked for ice cream, shaking his head gently. Like he knew it would be too easy, too.
Lucifer kept his eyes on slicing and scooping as he served.
He gave Charlie a generous portion, and Vaggie. Swallowing and trying to steal himself as he turned to Alastor.
"Ice cream?" He offered.
The younger man smirked. "Just the whipped cream." Alastor said, and it was thankfully the most normal and unsuggestive tone he had ever used and Lucifer was grateful.
Until the younger scooped up a spoonful of tart, and shot Lucifer another one of those smirks. "I don't like sweets, usually."
Lucifer huffed, turning to his own tart. "Well, then, you won't like much I make." turning back to his own portion. And nearly burying it in whipped cream.
But he swore he heard Alastor say. "We'll see."
***
As Lucifer straightened up from adding the logs to the fire, the warmth of the flames now a comforting presence against the chill of the mountain night, he caught sight of Alastor's gaze.
The younger man's eyes were unapologetically fixed on him, a small, knowing smile playing at the corners of his lips. Which made Lucifer realize that Alastor had been watching him bent over the fireplace—and there wasn’t even a hint of embarrassment on his face for having been caught staring at the older man’s ass.
Instead, Alastor’s stare was steady, almost challenging, daring Lucifer to acknowledge it, to call him out.
For a moment, the short blonde felt suspended—But he didn't say anything. He couldn't. The admonition seemed to lodge in his throat, and he turned back to the crackling fire to distract him.
"Here we go," Charlie said brightly, breaking the tension as she settled back onto the sofa next to Vaggie. She picked up the remote and began flicking through the movie options. "Perfect end to a long day."
"Definitely," Vaggie agreed, leaning into her girlfriend, their shared warmth evident.
Alastor sat in one of the arm chairs, one knee bent as he leaned casually. Confident as a house cat surveying his domain, and eyeing the canary cage.
Lucifer hesitated for just a moment before sinking into the plush armchair directly across from Alastor. It was impossible not to be aware of how this arrangement placed them facing each other. His mind raced with thoughts of their earlier exchange.
But Alastor's attention was now focused on the flickering flames, the light casting shadows that danced across his face and glinting in his glasses, obscuring his expression.
The room filled with the soft sounds of the movie beginning, but Lucifer found his own focus wandering, drawn irresistibly back to the man opposite him.
"Hey, how about we switch to something more fun?" Charlie interrupted, a lighthearted suggestion as she picked up the remote once more. "Like a baking show!"
"Sounds good," Vaggie agreed, with a nod.
Lucifer watched as the screen flickered to life with images of powdered sugar and expertly piped frosting. The cheerful narration filled the room.
"Do you bake much, Lucifer?" Alastor asked suddenly, turning his head slightly, just enough to suggest that his attention had finally shifted from the flames.
"Here and there," Lucifer replied, trying to sound casual, though he was acutely aware of the younger man's focus now fixed on him. "I find it...relaxing."
"An outlet for creativity," Alastor remarked, his voice smooth, yet there was an undercurrent of something unspoken, something that tugged at the edge of Lucifer's curiosity.
"Exactly," Lucifer said, nodding, feeling encouraged by the easy warmth of the conversation. For a moment, he wondered what thoughts swirled beneath Alastor's composed exterior.
The four of them fell into a comfortable rhythm, exchanging light banter about the basics of souffles and the perfect pie crust. But, Lucifer sensed Alastor's mind wandering, as if part of him was elsewhere.
Without warning, Alastor stood. "I think I'll turn in for the night," he announced, his tone polite but distant. "Goodnight, everyone."
"Night, Al," Charlie chimed. While Vaggie didn’t give much more than a nod in his direction.
"Goodnight," Lucifer added, watching as Alastor made his way toward the stairs, leaving behind an air of unresolved tension.
As the sound of his door closing echoed from above, Vaggie leaned closer to Charlie, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Something’s off with him."
"Vaggie, he’s just not super social." Charlie assured, though concern was knitting her brow.
Lucifer listened quietly. There was an undeniable pull toward Alastor, a desire to unravel the mystery he presented.But uncertainty lingered as well, like the shadows cast by the embers floating from the logs burning low in the hearth.
"He's been through a lot," Charlie's voice broke through his thoughts, tender and resolute. Her gaze was fixed on the fireplace, but her words were directed at Vaggie. "He misses his mother. And he never mentions his dad. It's been almost a year since she passed."
Lucifer felt a tug at his heartstrings. He knew what it was like to be lonely. He’d felt rudderless since his divorce, drifting on the open ocean—most times, he felt like he was fighting just to tread water. Looking for anything to anchor to.
"That makes sense, I guess," Vaggie murmured, her brow furrowing with concern.
Charlie nodded, her expression softening. "Yeah. He’s a sweet guy, deep down, just a bit…aloof."
Vaggie shot her girlfriend a look, but Lucifer
"Poor guy," Lucifer said quietly, more to himself than anyone else. "I should—" He hesitated. "—go finish cleaning up after dinner," he finally decided, rising from his seat. It was easier to focus on tasks, to keep his hands busy while his mind wandered.
“Charlie,” Vaggie said, just barely loud enough to be heard over the baking show contestants panicking about their ovens. “Are you sure it was a good idea to bring him here?”
"I’m pretty sure,” Charlie said brightly, her eyes still on the screen—like she was hiding something. "I think Dad and Alastor might have more in common than you think."
“What?” Vaggie blanched.
"Just…they’re both kind of old souls, you know." Charlie shrugged, a knowing smile playing on her lips that she was failing to hide. "Sometimes, those kinds of people connect on a different level."
"Charlie," Vaggie interjected skeptically, her arms crossed over her chest. "Is that really a good idea."
"I know Alastor better than you do, Vaggie. Trust me on this."
"Sure," Vaggie replied, though doubt lingered in her tone. "If you say so."
🍂🍁🍃
The chalet was silent, save for the quiet padding of Lucifer’s bare feet on the cool wooden floor. Shadows danced across the walls as he slipped into the kitchen, the moonlight filtering through the large window and casting an ethereal glow over the room.
The oversized sweater he wore hung loosely, its stretched neck drooping off one shoulder, baring the ridge of his collarbone to the cool air. And his duckie pajama bottoms hung loosely from his hips.
Lucifer let out a sigh, and leaned against the counter for a moment, letting the stillness envelop him.
Insomnia had become his only bedfellow these days. And tonight, he was being lured back into the kitchen by the promise of a snack—something sweet but that he could pretend was still healthy.
His gaze fell upon the bowl of green apples he had picked up from a market. Nice and tart, and would go perfectly with the jar of local honey sitting invitingly on the counter.
A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he reached for a cutting board and knife, setting about slicing the apples with methodical precision. Each thin slice landed in the bowl with a soft thud, and Lucifer’s mind settled into the repetitive motions and sounds.
Lucifer drizzled a generous amount of honey over the top. He watched as it pooled around the edges and seeped into the spaces between the slices.
For these few moments, the world outside ceased to exist, leaving only the quiet comfort of apples and honey in the dimly lit kitchen.
With the bowl of apple slices balanced in one hand, Lucifer stepped up onto a small wooden stool and hoisted himself onto the cool marble surface of the kitchen island. He let his legs dangle over the edge.
His gaze was drawn to the large picture window that dominated the far wall. Outside, the night was alive with movement.
The wind sent leaves skittering across the ground, twisting them into a chaotic dance. Beyond, in the inky darkness, thick clusters of snowflakes began swirling lazily before pressing against the glass and falling away.
There had been whispers of a storm earlier in the week, but he'd dismissed them, thinking it was still too early for a proper snowfall.
The thought of being snowed in with his daughter and her girlfriend brought a smile to his lips. A chance to huddle together by the fire, sharing stories and laughter. But the smile faltered as another realization crept in—Alastor would be stuck here too..
"Hello, Mr. Morningstar." The voice was smooth and rich, like velvet draped over a midnight sky.
The sound of it sent a jolt through Lucifer, startling him from his thoughts. He nearly dropped the bowl as he twisted around, like thinking his damn name had summoned him.
There stood Alastor, as real as the snowflakes that continued to fall outside. His presence filled the doorway, clad in pajamas of a lurid red satin that caught the light with every subtle shift.
Lucifer's heart gave an errant thump, a guilty awareness settling in his chest.
"Hey, Alastor," Lucifer managed, swallowing hard against the sudden dryness in his throat.
The younger man's unexpected appearance left him grappling against emotions he couldn't name or tame.
Lucifer cleared his throat, the sound rough and awkward in the kitchen's quiet. He could feel the sticky sweetness of apple and honey clinging to his tongue.
"You know, you don’t have to call me that." he forced a semblance of nonchalance into his tone.
"Yes, sir," Alastor replied with a mischievous glint in his eyes, stepping further into the room.
Lucifer shifted on the counter, trying to focus on anything other than the allure of Alastor's presence.
"What’s got you up at this hour?" he asked, aiming for casual curiosity, but knowing it probably fell short.
"Couldn't sleep," Alastor said simply, as if it was the most natural thing in the world to be wandering around someone else's kitchen at midnight.
"Ah well," Lucifer nodded, hesitating for a moment before offering, " Can I get you anything?"
Alastor's hazel eyes glinted with amusement, a mischievous smirk playing at the edges of his lips, as if he had just been handed an opportunity too delicious to pass up.
"To eat," Lucifer clarified hurriedly. "Can I fix you anything to eat?" He steered back to safer ground.
Alastor leaned casually against the opposite counter, his long fingers splayed out across the surface–he should play the piano, Lucifer thought, distractedly.
The kitchen was spacious enough to keep so distance between them, but even so, Alastor's presence seemed to reach across the tiled floor, making Lucifer's skin tingle.
"Well," Alastor drawled, his tone dripping with suggestion, "I must say, I like what you've been offering so far."
Lucifer fought the urge to roll his eyes. He lifted the small bowl toward the younger man. "I'm having apples and honey," he announced, plucking a thin slice for himself, feeling the crispness break beneath his teeth.
Alastor’s eyes glinted in the low light as he took a slow, deliberate step forward, closing the distance between them.
“I’m not really one for sweets,” he murmured, his voice low and velvety, “except on special occasions.”
Lucifer watched, spellbound, as Alastor moved closer still, until he was within arm's reach. The younger man’s gaze dropped briefly to Lucifer’s mouth before returning to his eyes, the suggestion unmistakable.
Then, with a gentle but assertive grip, Alastor wrapped his fingers around Lucifer’s wrist.
The contact sent an unexpected jolt up Lucifer’s arm, his pulse quickening in response. He barely had time to process before Alastor brought Lucifer’s hand to his own lips, slowly taking the apple slice from his fingers with a playful nip.
"Look, kid," Lucifer started, the words escaping him more breathlessly than intended, "You don’t know what tree you’re barking up here. "
Alastor chuckled softly, pushing the bowl in Lucifer’s hand aside as he leaned forward, his hands finding purchase on the counter on either side of the blonde’s knees. The move was deliberate, enclosing Lucifer in a space that felt suddenly intimate.
“I’ve been of age for years, you know” Alastor assured him, his tone a blend of amusement and something darker. “And I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Lucifer swallowed hard, trying to maintain some semblance of composure even as the heat of Alastor’s proximity made his skin prickle and his thoughts scatter like leaves in the wind.
Alastor's weight was a palpable presence against Lucifer's legs, the counter beneath him suddenly feeling like a precarious perch.
The young man's hands remained planted on either side of him, as if to emphasize the space he was claiming.
"Alright," Lucifer said, his voice low as he conceded. "You're not a teenager, sure, but you don't know who you're trying to flirt with." His eyes flickered over Alastor's shoulder, seeking a distraction in the darkness beyond the window, even as he felt the heat creeping up his neck. "I mean, I get you're a horny college kid and all, but just think about it."
The snort that escaped Alastor was rich with amusement. It tugged at the corners of Lucifer's mouth despite himself, though he fought to keep his composure.
"But I'm Charlie's dad," he added, the words carrying an undercurrent of warning.
Alastor leaned further into him, pressing softly, insistently, until Lucifer’s knees began to yield to the pressure.
"Yes, Charlie's single dad," Alastor replied smoothly, his voice warm and teasing as he continued to focus only on Lucifer. "Who keeps looking at me like I'm going to eat him."
Lucifer could feel the flush spreading from his cheeks to his ears, betraying him—he and Charlie had that in common–no damn poker face.
He turned his head slightly, breaking eye contact under the pretense of watching the snowflakes gathering outside—anything to avoid the intensity of Alastor's gaze that saw right through him.
Alastor's presence loomed closer, the air between them charged with an electric tension that hummed through Lucifer's veins. Alastor’s hands remained planted on the counter, framing Lucifer in a way that made escape feel both possible and pointless.
"Which," Alastor murmured, his voice a low, sultry purr that seemed to wrap around Lucifer’s senses, "I am happy to oblige…if you ask nicely."
The boldness of the words struck Lucifer like a physical force.His breath hitched, too loud in the stillness of the kitchen.
In that moment of hesitation, the resistance in Lucifer's legs faltered, and he found himself yielding to Alastor’s body moving between his thighs. The heat of the younger’s proximity seeped through the fabric of Lucifer's pajama bottoms, igniting his skin beneath the oversized sweater.
A soft chuckle escaped from Alastor, rich with triumph, as though he could sense the internal war waging within Lucifer—a battle already half-lost before it began.
Lucifer's hand trembled slightly as he pushed the bowl of apples into Alastor's chest, a feeble attempt to create a little distance between them. A honeyed apple slice found its way into his mouth, the sweetness a distraction from the heat pooling low in his stomach.
"I’m too old for this shit," he muttered, the words barely coherent as they slipped past his lips.
The reprieve was short-lived.
Alastor moved with feline grace, reaching past the bowl. Fingers brushed against Lucifer’s skin lightly, then cupped his chin and coax his face back toward the younger man.
"You aren't too old to be sweet for me, are you?" Alastor purred, his voice smooth like molten caramel.
Lucifer's mind blanked, the apple halted mid-chew as he blinked at Alastor.
The world beyond the kitchen faded into irrelevance, leaving Lucifer ensnared by the bewitching pull of Alastor’s gaze and the promise that lingered there.
Lucifer’s breath caught as Alastor hummed, a low sound of approval that vibrated through the air between them. The younger man leaned in, his eyes locked onto the slice of apple still perched on Lucifer's lips.
Alastor's mouth brushed against Lucifer's with a shock of warmth, the contact fleeting yet electrifying. In one swift motion, he bit through the apple slice. Their lips touched—just barely, tantalizing—and then it was over, leaving Lucifer craving more.
Honey dripped from the corner of Lucifer's mouth, a golden trail tracing down his skin.
Alastor’s eyes followed its descent, watching intently as it slipped beneath the stretched neckline of Lucifer’s sweater.
Alastor tilted Lucifer’s head back. Then, deliberately and with a measured grace, he lowered his head, following the sticky trail with the tip of his tongue.
The heat of Alastor’s mouth contrasted with the cool night air, igniting sparks that danced along his nerves.
Lucifer's breath hitched, his chest rising and falling as he struggled to regain composure. The unexpected intimacy of Alastor’s tongue tracing the honey along his neck left him reeling.
"You…you said you didn’t like sweets."
Alastor's lips curved into a smirk against Lucifer’s skin, the vibration of his words sending shivers down Lucifer's spine
. “I do prefer giving bites over kisses,” Alastor murmured, his voice a silky caress. “But I’m willing to make an exception... if you ask nicely.”
The air was thick with a heavy tension that pressed in on all sides. Lucifer’s mind raced, battling against the flood of desire threatening to pull him under. They shouldn’t be doing this—he knew it.
Alastor was so close now, his presence overwhelming and intoxicating. Lucifer could feel the warmth radiating from him, could see the promise in those hazel eyes.
Alastor was a force of nature that Lucifer found himself unable—or unwilling—to resist.
At that moment, Lucifer yearned to just give in. Let this man consume him, completely.
"Please..." The word slipped from his lips. A surrender, and there would be no going back.
Alastor pulled him in at once, until their lips collided. It was the kind of kiss that wanted to unravel him, dissolving the walls of solitude and heartache.
The brunette was unrelenting, leaving Lucifer breathless.
Their mouths danced together, tasting sweet and tart.. Alastor took his time, teasingly plucking the forgotten slice of apple from Lucifer’s lips.
Lucifer surrendered, letting himself be swept away by the sensation of being thoroughly, deliciously dominated. Given over entirely to Alastor’s whims.
As the kiss broke, Lucifer instinctively reached out, fingers wanting to curl into the silken fabric of Alastor's red satin pajama top. But Alastor leaned back slightly and tutted softly, amusement lacing his voice.
"Ah-ah," Alastor chided gently, a playful smirk curving his lips. "You will not get my clothes sticky."
Chastened, Lucifer withdrew his hands. Honey still clung to his fingertips.Instead he curled them on his thighs, falling into the familiar role of a practiced submissive—one he hadn’t embraced in a damn long time.
"Good boy," Alastor murmured, his voice low and smooth.
Leaving the blonde fluttering with the praise.
Alastor's fingers danced lightly along Lucifer's jaw, a touch both gentle and possessive. He leaned in closer, his breath warm against Lucifer's ear as he asked softly, "Can I bite you?"
"Yes," He swallowed hard, the remnants of honey sweet on his lips as he nodded, daring to trust Alastor. "Just... nowhere, it'll show."
"Of course," Alastor agreed smoothly, his tone carrying a promise that was both reassuring and thrilling. His hands were confident as they settled on either side of Lucifer's neck, guiding him with an insistent but tender pressure.
Lucifer allowed himself to be maneuvered, tilting his head obediently as Alastor exposed the bare curve of his shoulder where the oversized sweater had slipped away.
"Say ‘red’ if you want me to stop," Alastor instructed, his voice steady and calm, eyes meeting Lucifer’s.
"Yellow means slow down." Lucifer replied, heart pounding with a mix of nerves and excitement. The familiarity of those words brought a sense of comfort, grounding him.
"Good," Alastor chuckled. “I thought I would have to teach you the rules.”
Lucifer could feel Alastor's approval like a physical caress, knowing that in this moment, he was safe, understood, and about to be marked in a way he craved.
Alastor's lips moved with deliberate slowness, tracing a path down Lucifer's neck, leaving a trail of warmth in their wake. Each kiss seemed to linger longer than the last, as if savoring the taste of skin beneath them. Lucifer's pulse quickened, his breath catching as anticipation coiled tightly within him.
When Alastor reached the crook of his shoulder, he paused, lips hovering above the exposed flesh. Then, he latched onto the skin, drawing it into his mouth.
A gasp escaped Lucifer's lips as Alastor increased the pressure gradually, teeth grazing his shoulder until they slowly sank in.
Alastor knew precisely how to apply force without crossing into discomfort, maintaining a delicate balance that made Lucifer's head spin.
But then, the pressure intensified, skirting the edge of pain. It was sharp, demanding acknowledgement. But Lucifer let himself be pushed further, wanting more, until he thought his skin might break.
"Yellow," Lucifer gasped, voice straining.
Instantly, Alastor eased off the bite.
The relief was immediate, and the lingering sting felt tingling and pleasant as Alastor's tongue swept over the imprint of his teeth. He lavished attention on the tender area.
Lucifer moaned softly, the sound involuntary as Alastor's lips continued their ministrations, easing pain back into pleasure. That simple act of care left him feeling cherished as the mark colored his pale skin.
Lucifer's breath came in ragged bursts as he pulled back slightly, his eyes searching Alastor's with an intensity that mirrored the chaos in his chest.
His lips sought Alastor's again, a desperate connection fueled by the heat still simmering beneath his skin. The kiss was fervent, almost bruising in its urgency, and when they broke apart, Lucifer's whispered words filled the space between them.
"Fuck, I thought you were going to draw blood."
Alastor's laughter was a low, rumbling sound . "I don’t bite to cause harm," he assured, amusement dancing in his eyes. “Just to mark what’s mine."
The declaration wrapped around Lucifer like a silken thread; the sensation left him feeling exposed, and alive.
"Can I touch you?" Alastor's question was a soft murmur against his ear, each syllable enunciating a promise that made Lucifer's pulse quicken.
"Yes," the blonde breathed out, the single word filled with anticipation
"Good," Alastor hummed, a note of satisfaction lacing his tone. He paused those fingers curled on Lucifer’s inner thigh, a deliberate moment that held its own kind of tension. "If I touch you, I'm going to want to get my mouth on you. Not to bite, but to taste you. Is that alright?"
"Please," Lucifer repeated, the plea escaping him without hesitation.
Fingers fumbled with the waistband of his duckie pajamas. Why couldn’t he have worn something that was at least a little sexy? As if he could have known he was going to be hooking up in his kitchen.
His hands felt clumsy and uncertain now.
Alastor watched him with a smirk that was both knowing and indulgent, the heat in his gaze searing through the dim light of the kitchen.
The blonde finally managing to shove the fabric down his thighs. He shifted awkwardly, trying not to focus on how exposed he felt, or how much he craved the younger man's attention. Alastor's eyes never left his, holding him captive with their unspoken promises.
"Relax," Alastor murmured, dipping his finger into the jar of honey nearby. The movement was fluid, almost hypnotic, as he coated the digit in the golden syrup.
Then, with deliberate slowness, he dragged it along the length of Lucifer's aching cock.
Lucifer bit back a moan, his body tensing with anticipation, every nerve alight.
"How sweet," Alastor purred. He leaned in, his breath warm against Lucifer's skin, before his tongue flicked out to lap at the honey-coated length. The gentleness of Alastor's sharp teeth sent a shudder through Lucifer, the edge of danger driving him wild. .
"Fuck," Lucifer breathed.
He squirmed under Alastor's ministrations, feeling like a damn teenager getting his first blowjob.
The urge to touch, to cling to Alastor and ground himself, was overwhelming. His hands clenched into fists on his thighs. .
"Easy," Alastor soothed, wrapping his hand around Lucifer's cock with a leisurely stroke that was both personal and possessive. "You do not have permission to come down my throat."
The words were a command wrapped in velvet, a reminder of the control Alastor had over him.
Lucifer nodded, swallowing hard.
Alastor's mouth enveloped him once more. He couldn't help the whine that escaped his lips, a sound of pure want that echoed in the quiet kitchen.
"Take off your sweater," Alastor commanded, pulling back slightly, his voice rough with desire.
Lucifer hesitated, his fingers twitching towards the hem of his oversized top. The fabric hung comfortably but beneath it….he knew had the body of a divorced dad. Even if he’d only seen Alastor covered from neck to wrist to ankle, he knew the younger man was slender and fit.
Lucifer was not. He was almost middle aged and his muscle was hidden under softness, from stress and snacking and stressing over snacking.
He’d hesitated long enough for Alastor to notice.
Those keen hazel eyes softened, understanding without judgment. "Then you'll just have to wash clothes," Alastor murmured, his tone gentle yet unyielding. His hand continued its purposeful rhythm, stroking Lucifer with a practiced grace that left no room for doubt or insecurity.
Lucifer nodded, swallowing his apprehension, surrendering to the moment. Alastor's words were a balm, soothing his frazzled nerves as he gave in to the younger man's control.
With each deliberate stroke, tension coiled tighter in Lucifer's core until it snapped, spilling come over the younger’s fist. His sweater bore the brunt of it, as Alastor watched with a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
"Good boy," Alastor praised, the words a whisper that sent warmth flooding through Lucifer.
Lucifer was left a panting mess, his breath coming in shallow gasps as he leaned back against the cool surface of the kitchen counter.
The world around him seemed to blur. It had been so long since anyone else had gotten him off, and even though it was just a hand job, it left him reeling.
He could feel the warm stickiness of his come trailing down from his chin, marking his sweater as evidence of their encounter.
Alastor tipped his head back, and Lucifer's eyes fluttered open, meeting the younger man's hazel gaze that sparkled.
"Let me," Alastor murmured, voice rich and inviting. His tongue traced a languid path up his throat, collecting Lucifer’s come.
It shocked him that Alastor would even want to taste him. He barely registered the taste of himself on Alastor's lips before the younger man kissed him, lingering and turning tender, like Alastor knew, to ease him down.
And Lucifer’s wits were coming back to him. Already thinking of how he would return the favor.
Kitchen tile probably wasn’t going to be the best thing for his knees. And Lucifer hadn’t blown anyone in years, but it shouldn’t be too hard—not to get off a worked up college kid.
Just as resolve solidified in his mind, Alastor pulled away suddenly, leaving Lucifer blinking in surprise. A knowing smile playing on the younger’s lips.
"Thanks for the snack," he said, voice smooth as velvet, a teasing lilt in his words. He turned to leave, languid and unhurried, dripping with an irritating amount of confidence.
Lucifer blinked, his bare ass still on his kitchen counter, the chill grounding him to the granite.
"Wait," the blonde blurted, his voice husky and uncertain. He shifted slightly, the oversized sweater slipping further down one shoulder. "Don't you…want me to do something for you?"
Alastor paused, tilting his head just enough to glance back over his shoulder, with a soft chuckle in the quiet kitchen. .
"I'm quite satisfied actually," Alastor hummed, casually waving off the suggestion. "Goodnight, Mr. Morningstar."
And with that, Alastor sauntered out of the kitchen, leaving Lucifer alone and a sticky mess.
The oversized sweater clung to him in places, sticky with traces of honey and the aftermath of He shifted slightly, wincing as the coolness of the counter reminded him of his current state of undress. His mind replayed the scene over and over, each repetition only deepening the gnawing inside him.
He’d eaten, and more, and yet...he was starving.
For a moment, Lucifer considered following Alastor, demanding an explanation or an encore. But the thought vanished as quickly as it came, leaving him with nothing but an empty ache and the soft patter of snow against the windowpane.
With a sigh, he reached for the discarded bowl of apples and honey, knowing they wouldn’t be nearly enough.

How I think the HH crew takes their coffee
Lucifer orders the most complicated, sugary, step specific drink you could imagine. He is hated by baristas everywhere. Also gets so excited when ordering he changes it at least 3 times halfway through explaining it. Probably gets something different everytime too. He is a regular with no usual. Charlie canonically likes frappaccinos! Like her dad, I can see her having similar tastes, sugar, but also wanting to keep it simple so that she doesn't overwhelm the employees (she's too considerate for her own good). Orders straight from the menu exactly how it is with no alterations, is also the one who probably walks in with a list of orders for her friends, goes as slow as possible for the cashiers sake. Angeldust rolls up to the drivethrough hung over and orders something iced- probably a caramel drink and he asks for it to specifically be drowned in caramel, and an extra shot. Either that or a vanilla iced latte. Vaggie is not a huge fan of coffee, she gets a tea or tea latte instead. Earl grey is her favourite and she likes a lot of milk. Alastor loves a nice extra hot black coffee. He wants that bitch scolding and bitter. Doesn't even drink it, just splashes it in his face. Where that would normally give someone 3rd degree burns, it gives him some 'extra pep' in the morning, as he puts it (god he's a fucking freak) Husk takes his coffee black also, but instead will spike it with his own bourbon he keeps in a flask. Will sometimes get cream and sugar if he's feeling, as he puts it , 'fancy' (bro is so low maintenance) Nifty isn't allowed to have caffeine for obvious reasons Sir Pentious is another non-coffee drinker but drinks exclusively tea. Is a bit of a snob about it too. Needs the leaves to be fresh or he WILL be able to taste the burntness. His favourite is peppermint. Would rather die than bother the barista to remake it though so he normally brews his own with his own needlessly complicated tea making invention of course. Cherri bomb loooooves caffine, but isn't much of a coffee drinker. More of a monster energy and redbull kinda gal. She needs something she can drink fast and hard. Don't even get me started on those 5 hour energy drinks. Oh boy. Don't let her near them (she will kill u for one) Vox is an avid coffee drinker. Practically lives off of it and can't get through the day without (it's a problem). Definately has one of those 'don't talk to me before I've had my coffee' mugs bc he's an asshole. Drinks like 5-6 cups in a single day. Send help. Velvette gets a coffee once in the morning and then one in the afternoon. Pulls up to the cash register with her sunglasses on and outfit for the day put together, intimidating buisness lady vibes off the charts while she orders between phone calls. Also definately shushes the barista of they try to ask her any questions, can't you see she's on the phone? Her order is LONG and COMPLICATED and she needs it made the way she likes to a T, she also talks fast and no she will NOT repeat herself so you better be a fast writer. Probably gets something vanilla flavoured with 3 shots of espresso in it. Valentino isn't a coffee guy but if he needs it for a long shoot or late night he gets either an Americano or pure espresso shots. No time to waste with the frills and fancy stuff despite the look of him. Also will throw the cup at the barista if the shots come out burnt or expired.
