yellow it’s me • I once left my friend @tfresh27 a voicemail message that began, “Yellow this is your bff yessica…” and continued to ramble nonsense about how I missed her and she had to hang out with me that day. Given the mood and excitement I had during my rant, I think it really made an impression. What a good feeling, to make your friends smile. Kind of like the yellow in this sunset - vibrant and cheery. Insects advance from singing to screaming. Birds fly together in a flock. People are out fishing, running, biking, rollerblading, taking their dog for a walk. ebbs and grows • The tide goes out. You have less water right now, but that also means someone else has more water right now. What to do until the abundance returns? For starters, low tide is the best time to harvest oysters! Also the best time to make sand animals because you have all of the hard sand in the world to work with. You can chill in the tide pools and look for critters. It’s a great time to go for a beach walk because the beach is so wide during low tide and people are more spread out. Also a great time to search for cool seashells! There are things to do, with less. And before you know it, high tide will roll in again. jessie • I named this one after little me because pink and purple were incredibly important to me when I was 7. Which reminds me of that awesome pink and purple cast I earned that one time AKA a favorite childhood memory: Me, Al, and Eric were out for a sledding adventure. Sometimes we would fit 2 of us in the toboggan so we could get more speed. As per usual I was put in the front this time, which meant I was getting annihilated with snow the entire way down. Blasted. I guess Eric was able to see and he yelled for us to “BAIL!” which he did…I did not. And very soon after he jumped out, my leg attacked the metal bathtub that was so perfectly planted at the base of our favorite sledding hill. I’m balling my eyes out and like any great brothers would, they insisted that I was being a baby and I could walk up the hill. No, really guys I can’t….. Mom happened to be coming down the driveway and yelled for them to pull me up the hill. holding hands • Bridges are like two people holding hands. Each side of the bridge is from different places and they both have their own character and unique stories to tell. The young little guy at the end of this fishing pole was flailing the line around every which way, seemingly trying to catch a tourist on the pier.
