Good practices begin when we set ourselves for success.
So why is it so difficult to develop new good habits? Behavioural scientist who have studied habit formation have said forming a new habit can be challenging because our brains are wired to seek out familiar and comfortable patterns of behaviour. When we try to introduce a new behaviour, it requires effort and conscious attention, which can be tiring and uncomfortable at first.

5️⃣ Stick to your habit even when you don’t feel like it
By implementing these methods, it is possible to form new habits and make positive changes in your life.

Book reflection
I've finished reading one book in just two weeks! yey for being productive! I read The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg and it talks about why we do what we do in life and business as the subtitle suggests haha
In this book, I learned that we have the power to change and achieve our goals by simply turning habits into a powerful move. Habits are what we do in daily life, from waking up in the morning, getting ready to work to calling off the day, it's the tiny actions that make up our day, our character and our life. The book has empirical data that suggests how habits embody us.
Habit is created through a loop with a cue, routine, and reward. It is easy to make a habit but to transform, it take belief into the equation. Willpower also have factor in it as individuals have differing resolve to turn habits into lifelong change. When a crisis emerges, our habits kick in and it is up to us how to respond to that opportunity. Lastly, two instances cited the responsibility of our habits, bad or good ones.
While reading the book, I reflected with myself and decided to change habits into good ones. As Charles mentioned, it is not easy to change habits abruptly. It takes time and the loop to action again and again for habits to form. I believe to make a change, we must start within ourselves. A tiny change can influence someone or something around us and it is up to us whether to bring positive change.

#RamadhanInspirasi “The Power of Habit”
Dalam bukunya yang fenomenal, Charles Duhigg menjelaskan dengan sangat baik, kenapa kebiasaan- kebiasaan kecil yang kita lakukan dalam sehari, akan mempengaruhi banyak hal dalam kehidupan kita. Dalam bukunya yang berjudul The Power of Habit tersebut, Duhigg mencontohkan kebiasaan kecil yang mempengaruhi hidup kita, seperti kebiasaan merapikan kasur di pagi hari, ternyata mempengaruhi produktivitas kita seharian.
Hal ini senada dengan kutipan Willian James pada 1892, “Seluruh hidup kita, sejauh memiliki bentuk yang pasti, hanyalah sekumpulan kebiasaan.” Pukul berapa kita bangun di pagi hari, aktivitas apa yang kita lakukan setiap pagi, berapa halaman buku yang kita baca setiap hari, berapa menit kita berolahraga, dan rutinitas-rutinitas kecil kita itulah yang ternyata memiliki pengaruh terhadap produktivitas kita dalam bekerja. Capaian-capaian akademik kita di sekolah, dan kesuksesan dalam kehidupan lainnya. Kebiasaan akan menentukan banyak hal. Karenanya, banyak orang ingin mengubah kebisaan buruknya dan ingin menciptakan kebiasan-kebiasaan baik, demi hidup yang lebih baik lagi.
Namun, berapa lama sebetulnya waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk menciptakan kebiasaan baru atau merubah kebiasaan buruk? Dr. Maxwell Maltz menuliskan bahwa hanya dibutuhkan waktu 21 hari untuk membiasakan hal baru. Mitos 21 hari telah banyak diamini oleh orang di seluruh dunia, meskipun penelitian terbaru dari Phillippa Lally dari University College London yang dipublikasikan dalam European Journal of Social Psychology, mengatakan bahwa rata-rata kebiasaan baru dapat diciptakan dalam waktu 66 hari, atau 2 bulan. Hal ini tergantung dengan kerumitan perilaku baru yang akan diciptakan, ada yang mampu dalam waktu 18 hari, 20 hari, satu bulan, dan seterusnya.
Kita memiliki bulan Ramadhan, satu bulan khusus dalam setahun yang menjadi sarana training kita dalam menciptakan kebiasaan-kebiasaan baru. Sudah banyak success story dari mereka yang mengagendakan kebiasaan baru, dan selama Ramadhan kebiasaan itu mereka latih terus menerus. Hasilnya, perilaku itu menjadi kebiasaan baarunya selepas Ramadhan.
Apa hal baik yang akan kita jadikan kebiasaan? Mulailah sekarang, rutinkan selama Ramadhan ini, dan jadikan itu kebiasaan yang berkelanjutan.
Ingat, dalam Al-Qur’an Surah Ar-Ra’d ayat 11, Allah SWT berfirman:
“Sesungguhnya Allah tidak akan mengubah nasib suatu kaum sampai mereka mengubah keadaan diri mereka sendiri.”
Ayo, ubah kegagalan-kegagalan dalam hidup kita, dengan mengubah kebiasaan buruk menjadi kebiasaan baik.
