More Emma and Charlie Headcanons (compilation of during and after Hogwarts)

During:

Emma dropped out of the Prefect voting pool because she thought Charlie deserved to win more than her. She didn’t like that she had a slight popularity advantage.

Charlie was actually terrified to ask Emma to be his girlfriend. It took Molly saying ‘either you ask her to be your girlfriend, or I’m asking for you’.

When it was time for the Celestial Ball, Charlie wished he would’ve asked Emma to be his date when he had the chance. Seeing her in the long, two piece light blue dress with silver rhinestone embellishments on the top that she wore, her hair perfectly curled and styled, and her natural-esque makeup look, he was entirely captivated. He’d have asked her to dance, if she wasn’t enjoying her time with her closest friends.

After the Ball, Charlie began calling Emma the ‘Princess of the Gryffindor House’ because of how she looked in her dress. Emily Tyler hated this, and Bill thought it was funny that she hated it. Take that, Emily.

Charlie playfully calling Emma the Princess of the Gryffindor House was how ‘Princess’ became a nickname for Emma.

Emma and Charlie took lots of trips to the Black Lake together, mostly to study the creatures (and look for more dragons) and take a little swim.

“If you’re gonna stare at Charlie, at least make it a little less obvious.” -Bill to Emma, probably.

Whenever Bill’s with Charlie, he’ll ask him about Emma because he knows Charlie will either jump right into gushing over her or he’ll tell him to bugger off.

Sometimes after a Quidditch match and everyone has left the pitch and it’s nearly dark, Charlie will get his broom and find Emma (who has already changed out of her Quidditch uniform), and ask he if she cares for a little flight, to which she always says yes.

Emma got hurt during a Quidditch match? Charlie will absolutely lose it. It’s fine if he gets hurt, but if Emma gets hurt? No. Nope, not okay. Not only is she one of the best Chasers, but that’s his girlfriend, the girl he’s been in love with since day one. He’ll then purposefully go after whoever hurt her.

There was one time that Charlie got hit by a bludger in a match, and it knocked him off his broom, into the wall of the pitch. Emma has never wanted to fight an inanimate, enchanted object so much.

So. Many. Dragon Hunting. Dates. It’s like these two just can’t get enough from the thrill of trying to track down a dragon. So much that it even catches Hagrid’s interest, though he doesn’t reprimand them at all for it.

After:

Every time Charlie comes home with a new scar or burn from work, Emma seems like she’s scolding him about it by saying “Charles Weasley, is that a new scar/burn?” And Charlie will just kinda meekly smile and say sorry but Emma’s really just happy he made it home alive.

They both agree that going to Romania together was the best decision they ever made, aside from getting married.

When they move back to England, though their house is a bit more on the smaller side, Emma still finds the perfect place to keep all of their notebooks and dissertations, though it took Charlie making a little niche wall bookshelf for them in the small study room.

Charlie reads the children his and Emma’s dissertations on dragons instead of traditional bedtime stories, and he adds a little dramatic flair to them. At first, Emma gets on to him for it, but eventually she just lets it go because she knows their children will end up loving dragons too.

The entire family has matching dragon slippers and plaid pajama pants. It started because of Charlie.

A Few Charlie and Emma Headcanons:

before this list gets started, I just want to say that a couple of these headcanons include Ryan O’Donnell, one of @unfortunate-arrow’s mcs! (mostly because I love Ryan and Emma’s friendship so much already)

Charlie likes making Emma “mad” because her Scottish accent is more pronounced and he thinks it’s the cutest thing.

Emma always gets caught staring at Charlie with that dreamy look in her eye, whether it be by Rowan Khanna, Bill Weasley, or Ryan O’Donnell (belongs to @unfortunate-arrow ). Ryan always catches Emma staring at Charlie during Quidditch practices or games, and he makes it obvious that he knows about her crush.

Neither of them are subtle with their flirting. Actually, it’s a little awkward because they’re both so fidgety and nervous around each other.

For Emma, admitting her feelings to Charlie was the most difficult thing she had to do. Nothing in the Vaults compared to the nerve-wracking feelings she had. If it wasn’t for Ryan giving her a pep-talk, she never would’ve told Charlie.

When Emma adopts her first dragon, a Chinese Fireball, Charlie is the first to know and he immediately wants to go see it and take notes on it.

For their first date, (it requires a bit of sneaking out of the Gryffindor Tower, but Hagrid did help with making sure they weren’t caught), Charlie took Emma to a spot at the lake in the Creature Reserve where he saw a Norwegian Ridgeback, and proceeds to tell her all about it. While they weren’t lucky enough to see the dragon again, they spend most of the night talking about dragons, which ones are their favorites, and how stupid they both were for not admitting their feelings sooner.

Their first kiss is interrupted by Bill, much to Charlie’s annoyance. “Dammit Bill, do you ever knock?” “What do you mean? This is the Common Room, you git.”

After Hogwarts- More Charlie and Emma Headcanons

For about six months of their relationship, Emma was in England while Charlie was in Romania. During this time, the pair would write each other daily, and when Emma got word of Charlie’s first injury, even though it was just a minor scratch, she was worried beyond belief. In January of 1992, Emma went to Romania with Charlie.

In her seventh month of working in the sanctuary, Emma got a burn on her ankle from a belligerent Welsh Green dragon chick, and Charlie considered talking her out of doing the fieldwork, but he knew it would be useless.

While many date nights end up getting cancelled due to either one or both of them having to do fieldwork, they always make it up to each other.

One of the times that Charlie made up for a missed date night, he improvised by making an at-home date for them, where he laid a few blankets and pillows in the floor of their living room, and made popcorn and got some chocolate frogs and sugar quills as snacks, complete with a fresh pot of tea.

Charlie doesn’t trust anyone else to tend to his wounds on the job, if Emma isn’t available right then, he’ll just tough it out and wait until she’s available or until they’re both home.

When it comes to more responsibility with money, they’re about even, though Charlie is more of an impulse buyer.

Emma deciding to go to Romania with Charlie wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for the pair. The night before Charlie had to leave after the Holidays, he and Emma had gotten into an argument, which had prompted Emma to leave for a little bit, going to Rowan’s, where she was met by Rowan and Penny. Charlie eventually found her, and they made up before the night was over, Emma deciding to go to Romania with Charlie after they’d poured their feelings out to each other.

While Emma is naturally very dominant and aggressive, she’s anything but that around Charlie, she just lets her guard down completely when he’s around.

While they’re both very serious about their work, they would never, ever put work above each other. They’d drop everything just to make sure they could still have one another. Charlie made the mistake once of saying he’d choose his work with dragons (though it was out of anger, and without any thought before opening his mouth during the argument on the night before they left for Romania), and nearly lost Emma for it, from that moment on, he swore he’d never choose work over Emma, and he kept to that.

Though Charlie would much rather have a pet dragon, Emma is able to talk him into getting a couple more cats and a dog.

When either of them are asked what their favorite day was, the both of them respond with “our wedding day”.

Who is a night owl:

They both are in their own right, but Charlie is usually conked out before Emma every time.

Who is a morning person:

Neither of them are really morning people, but Charlie is usually up first when they live in Romania because of the dragons. Once they get back to England, neither of them are at all.

Are they cuddlers:

Neither of them will openly admit it, but they’re cuddly sleepers. Emma will literally snake her way into Charlie’s arms and he’s just the happiest thing about it.

Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon:

Charlie’s always the big spoon, Emma’s always the little spoon. It never changes. Charlie much prefers to be the big spoon either way.

What is their favourite sleeping position:

They’ll either fall asleep cuddled together facing each other, or with Emma’s back to Charlie and his arm draped over her side, and it’s hands-down their favorite way to sleep.

Who steals all the blankets:

Emma. Charlie doesn’t know how, but it’s like she has a secret strength reserve to snatch the blankets from him and he can never get them back unless he finds a way to get under them and snuggle Emma.

What they wear to bed:

Emma: usually terry-cloth shorts and a tank top, maybe a crop top if it’s particularly hot. During the fall and winter, a long sleeve shirt and either shorts or flannel pants.

Charlie: he’s either in nothing but his underwear or he’s shirtless with lounge pants during the spring/summer. In the fall/winter, it’s flannel pants with a shirt that he just randomly throws on.

Who likes seeing the other wearing their t-shirt:

Charlie. 100% Charlie. He loves it when Emma wears his shirts and he’ll never get tired of it at all.

Who falls asleep mid-conversation:

Charlie. Sometimes he just overworks himself so much and he’ll fall asleep halfway through his sentence. Emma will just smile and cover him with a blanket and sometimes she’ll snuggle up next to him on the couch.

Who wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares:

Emma. Charlie knows how to handle her though, once he notices her start to stir, he’ll hold her closer until her breathing calms down and he’ll repeatedly tell her how much he loves her until she’s completely calm again.

Who accidentally punched the other in their sleep:

They both have by accident, but Emma was the first. She stretched out in her sleep and accidentally punched Charlie right in the sternum, making him wake up immediately and say “what the hell?”. She sleepily mumbled “sorry” and Charlie just smiled and let it go.

Who can’t keep their hands to themself:

Charlie, in every sense of the way. Emma calls him handsy at least 70% of the time for that exact reason.

Charlie and Emma Headcanons: Christmas Edition

Charlie cannot wrap presents to save his life. Emma tries to teach him, and it ends up with them surrounded by torn up wrapping paper and Charlie with tape all over his body.

If anyone asks Charlie if he likes eggnog, he’ll say: “hell yeah I like eggnog! ...with whisky...and no eggnog”, earning himself Emma’s elbow to his ribs.

Emma doesn’t expect Charlie to get her anything for Christmas, but he always goes above and beyond.

Both Emma and Charlie make sure that their children understand the true meaning of Christmas and why it’s such a big deal to the entire family.

Christmas decorating involves the whole family, complete with Charlie holding up the youngest child to put the star on the tree, and Emma getting a picture of every child’s first time putting the star on the tree.

The family starts a secret Santa tradition (an idea cooked up by Molly and Emma’s mother, Gwen), and it usually ends in complete chaos because some of the bunch (ahem, Bill, Charlie, Percy, and the twins) aren’t the best at getting gifts 80% of the time.

Emma. If Charlie even tried, it would be a disaster. He’d probably just throw an entire candy bar and maybe some random piece of fruit in and call it a day.

They both do occasionally, but whenever Charlie decides he wants more of his father’s personality to show in him, he’ll do it because he loves making his kids laugh.

is the tickle monster?

It depends on the day, and if they’re working with dragons or not. It can go either way, and sometimes they work together with it, tickling the child until they’re crying from laughter. They just don’t start the tickling game around the dragons on the reserve because some of the dragons aren’t that receptive to children running by them.

gives life lesson speeches?

Usually, Emma if it’s more serious matters, but sometimes Charlie will weigh in on them too. Charlie’s style is more telling the kids a silly story with a life lesson hidden in it. Charlie’s a great story teller, and almost always tells stories with dragons in them. Change my mind.

kisses the boo-boos?

The kids will run to whichever parent is closer, so both of them end up kissing the boo-boos.

breaks the bad news?

They both do it together, though Emma usually takes the lead with it. Sometimes, though it is a bit more rare, Charlie will take the lead.

joins the PTA?

Emma. Charlie’s too busy with the dragons, and Emma’s the more organized parent of the two so she’s more likely to join the PTA and become the President of it.

crashes sleepovers with embarrassing stories?

Charlie. And the stories always are told at the absolutely worst time. The kids groan about it in front of their friends, but secretly they love their dad just busting in and telling an embarrassing story.

gives the crazy nicknames?

Most of the crazier nicknames have been given by Charlie. Things like “future dragon tamers”, “baby dragonologists”, nicknames that he knows Emma would pitch a fit about, but it makes her laugh too.

Some More Charlie and Emma Headcanons:

When Charlie comes back for Christmas in 1991, Emma’s at the Burrow with the Weasleys and her family. When Charlie arrives, Emma’s in the middle of a conversation with her siblings when Molly announces that there’s someone who wants to see her, she has a confused look on her face, as she isn’t expecting anyone. When she excuses herself from the conversation, she notices Charlie making his way into the living room, and she immediately runs over to him and jumps in his arms, Charlie catching her as she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck, a smile on his lips as she kissed his cheek.

The next Christmas in 1992 was spent at the Burrow again, with the Galloways as guests. Charlie is able to take off of work, and he shows up, only with a flask of whisky, because Emma’s parents can be a bit...much. Emma notices and asks what’s in the flask, and Charlie tries to play it off as it being tea, and Emma snags it from him, taking a drink to notice that it’s whisky. She downs the flask as Charlie tries to get it back from her. When she finishes it, she hands the flask to Charlie with a smile on her face and says “now I might be able to handle this family Christmas...” and Charlie’s got a back up flask, because he knew she’d take that one. Bill is the only one to immediately realize that Emma and Charlie are piss drunk, so he tries to lie to cover for them so nobody else suspects anything.

Emma cannot, absolutely cannot, hold her liquor. Charlie thinks it’s adorable how she giggles so much and babbles incoherently if she’s past her limit, but he’ll quickly help her start to sober up by getting her some water and some crackers, making sure she gets to bed as well so she can get some sleep.

Charlie can’t hold his liquor that well either when he gets to a certain point, but it takes him quite a few drinks to get himself to that point. Bill can always tell when his brother is plastered because Charlie always wants to fight and will not shut up about how much he loves Emma.

Fluff Alphabet- Charlie Weasley and Emma Galloway

A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about the other?)

One thing Emma finds most attractive about Charlie, oddly enough, are his freckles. In a weird way, it’s like they accentuate his facial features. Another thing is his personality, how he’s very laidback but he’ll always come through for her.

When it comes to Emma, there isn’t much that Charlie doesn’t like, if there’s anything at all. His favorite, by far, are her eyes. They’re always so expressive and hold so much hidden emotion that he wishes he could just understand the half of.

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

At first, they were both very hesitant about ever having children. Emma choosing to be a Healer was a safe, reliable choice of profession, but Charlie choosing to be a Dragonologist and Emma taking it up as a second profession proved to be tricky for them to feel comfortable having children. About two years after their marriage in 1994, they’d finally decided to start trying to have a child.

C = Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)

Charlie is usually the big spoon, but sometimes they’ll cuddle face-to-face, with Emma’s face buried in Charlie’s chest.

They’ll cuddle nearly anywhere they can comfortably fit.

D = Dates (What are dates with them like?)

Most dates are adventures for these two, starting out with them searching for dragons near Hogwarts as teenagers, taking trips to the Black Lake for a swim, and Charlie flying them around on his broom. Sometimes, there’s the romantic, formal date.

E = Everything (You are my ____ (e.g. my life, my world…))

Emma is Charlie’s everything. He nearly made the mistake of losing her once and he wouldn’t dare even try it again. He couldn’t lose her because then he’d be lost.

Charlie is Emma’s life, every choice she makes is with him in mind, and she’s very thoughtful in thinking of how he’d feel about certain situations.

F = Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)

Emma knew she was in love the moment she looked into Charlie’s eyes on their first official date. She knew from that moment on, she was done for.

When Charlie saw Emma at the Celestial Ball in her light blue dress, perfectly curled hair, very little makeup, and her always radiant smile, he was immediately love-struck. He knew she was beautiful both inside and out, but he never thought he’d see her in a dress.

G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

They’ve very gentle with each other. Charlie has a lot of natural strength and some built-up strength from working out for Quidditch and to work with dragons in the future, so he’s always very careful to make sure he doesn’t hurt Emma. Emma, according to Charlie, is just naturally gentle without even trying.

H = Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

With their fingers interlaced, Charlie’s thumb over Emma’s. They’ll hold hands all the time, studying in the library, the common room, or the Great Hall.

I = Impression (What was their first impression?)

Emma first noticed Charlie’s affinity with dragons and his smile. Both of these things caused her to take a liking to him. At first, Emma was a little wary of the second oldest Weasley, but she quickly grew to like him.

Charlie noticed Emma’s smile before anything else, which seemed infectious to him. How she lit up a room was evident to him, and left a good impression on him. Soon after, every time she smiled, he was smiling.

J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

They both can get very jealous at times.

Emma doesn’t like when other girls with blatantly stare at Charlie, even when she’s sitting right next to him. She’ll scoot closer to him and hold his hand, or plant a kiss on his cheek.

Charlie, if another guy even so much as glances in Emma’s direction for a second too long, will wrap his arms around Emma’s waist and pull her closer to him, kissing the top of her head.

K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

Very soft, gentle kisses are the norm for them, and it’s usually Emma who will initiate them, sometimes Charlie will surprise her and quickly peck her lips. When it comes to the more heated, nobody-can-see-us-so-lets-go-for-it kind of kisses, Charlie initiates them every time.

Their first kiss was more of a mutual thing, with the both of them kind of having a sense that it was about to happen, though it was initiated by Charlie in the Gryffindor common room in 5th Year while nobody was around. This was their first passionate kiss, and it just had to be interrupted by Bill, much to Charlie’s annoyance.

On a technicality, Charlie. Though they both said it at the same time during a swim in the Black Lake, where their first kiss almost happened. Leave it to Bill to ruin that moment too.

M = Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)

Their first dragon-hunting date. They went out by the Black Lake, where Charlie had sworn he’d seen a Norwegian Ridgeback. Though they never saw a dragon, they spent most of the night talking to each other and laughing at each other’s stories and jokes.

N = Nickel (Do they spoil? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

Charlie spoils Emma more than he should, honestly. Every time he sees something that he knows Emma would love, he just has to buy it for her.

Emma will sometimes buy little gifts for Charlie, and sometimes she’ll spend just a little too much to get something she knows he’ll like.

O = Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)

Charlie: colors like yellow and red remind him of Emma. Yellow because of how she’s always in a cheerful, playful mood, and red because of how passionate and determined she is to always prevail in her journeys.

Emma: orange and red remind Emma of Charlie. Orange partially because of his wavy, long hair, and because of his energetic nature and creativity. Red because his passion matches hers and his unyielding courage. It takes a lot of courage to willingly want to work with dragons, and Charlie has just that and more.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

Charlie: Princess, Babe, Baby, Honey, Darling, Love, Sweetheart

Emma: Honey, Love, Sweetheart, Babe, Baby, Dragon Tamer

Q = Quaint (What is their favourite non-modern thing?)

Definitely vintage things like vinyl records, old payphones, and antique items

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

During their Hogwarts years, they’ll sit in the common room together and enjoy a cup of tea while they’re studying together. When they’re in Romania, they’ll cuddle up on their couch or bed, listening to the rain pelt against the roof and windows of the small cottage, eventually falling asleep in each other’s arms.

S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/others up?)

It comes down to them usually having to cheer each other up, because either they can’t cheer themselves up or their friends can’t. More often than not, Charlie can cheer himself up with just the mere though of Emma, and she can cheer herself up with just the thought of Charlie. But to cheer each other up, they’ll always make dumb little puns and jokes to each other, and words of affirmation are a key point.

For Charlie, during his Hogwarts years, it’s being able to crash and take a nap in his dorm, or on the common room couch. Sometimes Emma will be on the couch, so he’ll just lay his head in her lap and mentally clock out for the day while she’s playing with his hair. After, it’s being able to come home to Emma and just kiss her for as long as he wants. Sometimes he’ll try and get it to become something more, and he’s almost always successful.

During her Hogwarts years, Emma is most relaxed by being alone in her dorm and lighting a candle if she’s not able to crash on the common room couch with Charlie. After, it’s lighting a candle and taking a warm bubble bath, that Charlie will sometimes ask if he can join but will never admit that he likes because Bill would give him so much shit for it.

V = Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

Charlie absolutely loves showing Emma off to everyone and he 100% will ‘my girlfriend’, ‘my fiancée’, or ‘my wife’ someone to death. He just can’t believe out of everyone she could’ve had, she chose him.

Emma loves showing off all of Charlie’s dragon drawings, notes, and dissertations, as well as his Quidditch accomplishments and not to mention, his well-maintained athletic figure.

W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)

On his birthday in 1993, Charlie proposed to Emma at the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary. They had been working with a nursing Romanian Longhorn, and Emma had her back turned to Charlie to tend to the dragon chicks, and he took his chance to get down on one knee and ask for Emma’s hand in marriage. When Emma turned around, she was surprised to see Charlie down on one knee. Emma didn’t even think about saying yes, and instead just pulled him into the most passionate kiss they’ve ever had, when they pulled away from each other she had the most playful smirk on her face as she asked, “does that answer your question?”, and Charlie already knew that he had a definite answer.

On December 28th, 1994 Charlie and Emma got married in a small ceremony at the Burrow, with their families and friends in attendance. Emma ended up taking the Weasley name, as she was proud to become a Weasley. Charlie chose Bill as his best man even though he tried to act like he didn’t want to.

Ideally: a dragon.

Realistically: dogs and/or cats

Aaaaahhhh I can’t remember what year Emmy was born to save my own life

I think she’s just a little bit older than Charly though?? I may be wrong

But honestly, I think she’d be pretty close with all of Emma and Charlie’s kids, so I’ll just do a mish-mash list for all of them haha

But their birth order is Eli, Charly, Milo, and last but not least, Stella, for future reference!☺️

The girls, Charly and Stella would be a bit closer to Emmy than the boys, Eli and Milo.

Eli and Milo are still protective of Emmy though. That’s their makeshift cousin and nobody hurts their family.

Charly tries to convince Emmy to come to the dragon sanctuary when she visits with her parents.

Charly likes Emmy more than the rest of her siblings do, but that’s mostly because of them being closer in age.

Together, Charly and Emmy are like a tornado of chaos and terror. Poor Eli gets so many pranks played on him everyone’s lost count.

Both Charly and Emmy are super protective of Stella, since she is the baby of the bunch.

Emmy and Stella sometimes team up to pull pranks on Charly. Charly almost always gets angry about it.

Many people have said that Charly and Emmy are just like their moms, but fail to realize that Charly looks just like her dad.

Headcanon for Charlie and Emma:

Charlie can’t cook for shit, so Emma tries to teach him how to cook some basic things before he leaves for Romania. She starts by teaching him how to cook scrambled eggs, and she says “put three eggs in the skillet”, Charlie puts three whole eggs, shell and all and asks if that’s right, and it makes Emma giggle as she takes the eggs out and cracks them. Molly’s standing in the doorway, shaking her head at how incompetent all of her sons are in the kitchen because they’ve all screwed up cooking. Later on, Emma and Molly joke about it. Charlie gets a little fussy about it, but Emma tells him it was adorable and that he’s at least trying.
