You’re the best 💗 I mean yeah, it was more of a headcanon-based theory (rather than canon-based), and as for endgame Steve not being the real Steve my theory/headcanon is that Steve had some other mission other than just returning the stones, or maybe after returning the stones he really did go to the moon and so Torres’ loved conspiracy theories aren’t much of conspiracy theories after all 👀 I mean wasn’t there a scene somewhere with Fury being in what looked like a space station? Something similar to where they kept the helicarriers for project insight in catws, so what if he was on the moon? And what if Steve is on the moon too doing work for Fury? And that’s why he had to lie to Bucky and Sam and everyone else, because he had to make sure no one would’ve wanted to follow him (especially Bucky, even though it broke Steve’s heart to do so)

I totally feel you on that theory. It’s one that’s in my brain too as a possibility 👀 I actually wrote out a hypothetical version of that here the other day, except in my posited variation, Bucky knew at first and Sam didn’t. And then Sam was told later. But man, it could’ve been real Steve and he could’ve lied and told Bucky he was going back to stay with Peggy, and then there’s the heartbreaking implications of Bucky accepting the lie and letting him go...

What you’re saying (and what I was saying lmao) connects to the shitpost-that-isn’t-a-shitpost of Old Steve at minimum (as opposed to all of Endgame Steve) being a Skrull. Spider-Man: Far From Home had Fury and Maria seemingly involved in the whole movie but then at the end revealed that they were Skrulls the entire time. That certainly opens a lot of possibilities. And of course, super recently, there was the implication at the end of WandaVision that Fury (or Talos) contacts Monica for Skrull-related business too.

So, yeah, even though HYDRA stuff is what my theories are currently tipping towards in terms of what happened to Steve that’s pending what TFATWS continues to do with the serum / John Walker / Zemo plotlines. And Torres’ moon conspiracy theory line haunts me too lol. 

Like... haha great joke, but also, what if it isn’t? If nothing else, I consider it very interesting to write at the very beginning they gave a nod to the fact that there are people like you and me out there theorizing that something happened to Steve Rogers and there’s more than meets the eye to the cursed end of Endgame.
