1. WHEN WERE YOU FIRST INTRODUCED TO TUMBLR RP & DO YOU REMEMBER HOW?  :  i can actually date my move from forum to tumblr as being february, 2014. my first tumblr rp blog isn’t easy to find by any means, but it is still out there ( forever looming over me ). i found out from a mutual friend we had that sophia - not as close a friend then as she became, but my co mod / admin on our forum rp - had joined a tumblr group, which was entirely unfamiliar to me as a concept. i’m pretty sure i only joined the same group because we thought it would be funny to see how long it took sophia to realise it was me or something along those lines, but it did not take that long at all - i struggled so bad to begin with and i leant pretty heavily on sophia for plots and stuff. i think it took a few months for me to get into a swing of things and then i never went back to forum ! 

3. DO YOU PREFER TO WRITE IN SILENCE OR WITH MUSIC / BACKGROUND NOISE?  :  i think i can only really write in silence ! i’ll sometimes stick on some instrumental music if i can’t cope with silence in general, or i’ll play my usual rotation of favorite songs very, very low, but 99% of the time i have to write 1. late at night and 2. in total silence to get the kind of results i want of myself.

7. WHAT CHARACTER/S DO YOU RELATE TO MOST?  :  i’m going to take this as like. the characters that i write. because i’m not sure whether it’s meant to be that or just fictional characters in general and i don’t wanna think about it that intensely ! antigone xu has the style that like. i try to have / want to have and lily potter is kind of like. who i would love to be. but out of my past and current lineup, i most relate - on many, many levels - to marietta edgecombe and keira quirrell. and also a diff char i haven’t brought yet / is in my future probably, but just needs to come together a bit more.

• The world won’t let her forget who she was and what she has become. Born in 1978 to a Half-blood father and Pureblood mother, Marietta Edgecombe grew up in an environment more financially stable and comfortable than many of her peers. While her mother worked directly for the Ministry of Magic as a Floo Network Regulator, her father was employed as a financial consultant at Gringotts Bank. For most of her childhood and adolescence, Marietta was perfectly content with her life. Her parents, though strict on her academically and consistently striving for the absolute best from their only daughter, provided Marietta with every material thing money could buy. She was never in want of new gadgets, the latest in wizarding technology, or any other luxuries that could be provided. Her early years at Hogwarts were spent among a rather tight knit group of friends; though she met many a student who teased her for her unruly red hair, Marietta found a place of solace and comfort among the other like-minded girls of Ravenclaw who had been sorted into her year. Among them came her closest confidant: Cho Chang. Cho was decidedly different from the other girls Marietta had known in her years as a student. The only girl who refused to tease Marietta about her hair or her ever-struggling Arithmancy grades, Cho became the sort of friend Marietta had craved for in her years at school.The two developed a quick bond and lasting friendship, and it was the constant reminder of Cho’s unfailing kindness and support that inspired Marietta to reach out and offer herself to Cho as a companion during Cho’s greatest time of need following the death of her then-boyfriend, Cedric Diggory.

• However, despite the intimacy young Marietta shared with Cho and, to an extent, the other girls of her year, loyalty and obedience to her blood came before all else. The pampering she experienced as an only child in a stable home provided Marietta with a sort of loyalty and close relationship with her parents that many of her peers didn’t share with their own kin. It was this loyalty, perhaps, that led to Marietta’s social ruin and social pariah status in her sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Never a particularly willing participant of Dumbledore’s Army, started by the infuriatingly rebellious Golden Trio, Marietta’s social anxiety and guilt over being in league with such an organization plagued her for weeks on end. Having been warned that to directly disobey Dolores Umbridge would be seen as a great offense against the entirety of the Edgecombe family was a thought that plagued her nightmares and kept Marietta awake at night, thrashing in bed and fighting back tears of despair and aggravation. She cared for Cho and supported her friend in all of her endeavors--all but one. Her mother’s job, she felt, was far more important than a ragtag team of students teaching one another amateur magic directly underneath the Ministry’s nose. She stopped sending letters home, which worried her parents a great deal, and struggled to focus on homework, lessons, and even eating properly. The guilt of her silence ate away at her, until finally, Marietta could hold her tongue no longer. Desperate to redeem her family name and prove her loyalty to her mother and father once and for all, Marietta informed Professor Umbridge and the Inquisitorial Squad of the illicit meetings Harry Potter and his friends were holding--meetings that she had never approved of, mind you.

• Dolores Umbridge and, by direct extension, the Ministry of Magic, were naturally pleased with Marietta for coming forward and providing them with information about Dumbledore’s secret army. Though Marietta fully expected Cho to sever any and all ties with her permanently, her friend--her kind, unfailing friend--remained by her side, even going as far as to defend her decision to Harry Potter and his friends. But Marietta’s truth and, in her mind, special brand of bravery had come at a price--the permanent scarring of her face. Hermione Granger, the vile, sneaky witch she was, was behind a jinx that resulted in the disfigurement of Marietta’s features: forevermore, though several spells, healing potions, and other solutions had been attempted, the faint marks of ‘SNEAK’ remained plastered across her face. Though the scars have faded with age, time, and many an attempted removal, Marietta can still run her fingers along the scars with bitter resentment and regret for ever having gotten involved with the ridiculous Dumbledore’s Army shenanigans in the first place.

• A few years have transpired since the unfortunate events that scarred her physically and emotionally during her time at Hogwarts, and while the rest of the world has completely changed around her, two things remain constant: Marietta’s friendship with Cho and her loyalty to her family. In the turbulent socioeconomic crisis the wizarding world currently finds itself in, Marietta’s mother has managed to maintain her job at the Ministry, despite Lord Voldemort’s blatant involvement in running the government behind the scenes. Though her parents are by no means direct supporters of anything Lord Voldemort represents in terms of blood purity and Muggle-born purging, they remain quiet so both may keep their jobs, their lives, and their family. This, and Cho’s fierce devotion to the Order and her desire to rid the world of Death Eaters and followers alike, has left Marietta torn down the middle. At just 20, Marietta feels as though she’s torn between a rock and a hard place. She learns what she can about the Order through Cho, feigning interest in their organization and false promises that she intends on officially joining, and then turns and feeds the information to her mother and the Death Eaters who demand “inside information” from Ministry members on a regular basis. Marietta is young, terrified, and has no idea what she believes is right and wrong at this point: but she’ll do whatever it takes to save and protect her parents. And if that means selling Harry Potter’s cause on a platter, then so be it.

⚔ Cho Chang: Marietta’s closest friend throughout childhood, adolescence, and now into early adulthood, Cho is the only person at Hogwarts who has ever made Cho feel completely at ease with herself. Even after the fallout with Dumbledore’s Army that resulted in ‘SNEAK’ being brandished across her face, Cho remained a fast and faithful friend. Though she has no idea Marietta is betraying the information she’s given to her to the Death Eaters working for the Ministry, Marietta hopes that--like last time--her friend will understand it was all for the sake of her family.

⚔ Hermione Granger: The reason for the scars on her face, Marietta holds a very special grudge over Hermione Granger. Never particularly a fan of Harry Potter’s bright friend, she holds more animosity for Hermione in her heart than any other member of Dumbledore’s Army. Though she attempts to be polite for the sake of Cho, Marietta can’t deny that a very vindictive part of her sells information to the Death Eaters just to spite Hermione Granger and thwart her efforts.

⚔ Guinevere Delacroix: The Death Eater most closely tied to obtaining information from Ministry members, she is the one Marietta most directly answers to regarding any information about the Order or, more specifically, Harry Potter she can obtain. While her information is spotty, considering Cho can’t reveal much of anything as Marietta is still considered an “outsider”, Marietta hopes to remain on Guinevere’s relatively pleasant side as much as possible.
