remember this?
chapte 220
remember how we we were robbed of spinner narrating the mva arc? bc i do and i'm still mad about it
for those who don't remember or haven't watch the anime: in the anime, izuku also narrate the mva even though it's spinner in the manga
i want to give the benefit of the doubt to those who worked on the anime. at first i didn't understand why spinner was the narrator either as he didn't seem like an important character
but now that mha is over, it's seems obvious that this narration was hinting at spinner's book, if not a part of the book itself
this entire arc is basically "yeah we're villains but we're also people and we care about each other, here's our story". so it doesn't make sense that izuku narrates it, but it does for spinner. his league was his reason to be, he let himself get mutilated/tortured/whatever you wanna call what afo did to him in the final arc for the league, and especially for shigaraki
so yeah, i wish we could have gotten narrator spinner
#atlas thinking ☆#and don't even get me started on the giran erasure#we were ROBBED#chapter 219 was his time to shine#and it just got deleted without any mention of the BEST monologue in the entire story#can you tell i love giran?#mha#bnha#my hero academia#boku no hero academia#dabi#todoroki touya#league of villains#shigaraki tomura#shimura tenko#spinner#shuichi iguchi#toga himiko#twice#mr compress#lov#kurogiri#my villain academia

Okay so I know Julieta’s not having triplets in your ‘something unexpected’ fic. Buuuut! Just for funsies, what would’ve been the reaction if she was?
Like Bruno’s says “congrats Juli, they’re adorable”
There’s a pause and then suddenly the whole table shouts some variation of “they! As in more than one!!?
The chaos would be epic!
Actually, gonna be honest, the thought of her having triplets did cross my mind when I was writing that chapter, though mostly to just tease Julieta and make her frozen on the spot lmao, but let's do an alteration of that chapter!
vvvvvvvvvvvvvv
“I hear a new heartbeat,” Dolores muttered weakly.
And after no longer than a second, Pepa stood up so suddenly her chair fell to the floor. “You’re pregnant?!” she roared, glaring daggers at Mariano as if she was ready to kill him with a bolt of lightning that barely missed his chair.
Julieta only blinked. So Antonio would get a baby – who cared if it was a cousin or a nephew – sooner than she anticipated–
–but Dolores suddenly shook her head, gaping at her mother in shock. “I’m not?! We never–”
“Then who?” Alma demanded sharply, her gaze stopping at Isabela and Luisa who looked equally surprised by the revelation. “Girls?”
Luisa started coughing and Isabela just stared back at her, her eyes wide, her head shaking the tiniest bit.
“Mirabel…?” Alma started hesitantly.
Julieta felt her heart racing. Surely, it couldn't be her baby girl, right–
Mirabel choked on her sip of juice and Camilo patted her on her back so hard it sounded like all her organs did a flip inside. “What?!”
Alma wanted to repeat the question, it was clear, but at the same time Dolores slammed her both hands on the table, yelling “It’s tía!” and Bruno’s eyes went shining green at the same second.
Julieta was fairly certain her heart stopped. The wine glass dropped from Agustín’s hand and broke into three pieces on the table, spilling the remaining wine onto the surface.
But otherwise, there was silence.
The only sound anyone emitted was heavy breathing coming from Bruno as he grasped the edges of the table and leaned over it to blink quickly a few times just a few seconds later, getting rid of the shiny glimmer that had just lit up his eyes.
Then he looked around, a little confused, smacking himself on the head lightly, and a small smile appeared on his lips. “Congratulations Juli, they're adorable.”
Silence.
Camilo was the first to recover. “They? As in more than one?”
Bruno opened his mouth to answer but Dolores beat him to it. “There are three new heartbeats.”
Pepa thundered. “Three–”
“Triplets?!”
“Santa Maria–”
“Bruno, Brunito, hermanito, what did you see?!” Pepa asked loudly.
All people at the table looked at him. He chuckled nervously. “Ah-uh, three babies?”
“Three babies!”
“Well, no babies, more like toddlers but yeah–”

Thinking about the fact Julieta's basically keeping Mirabel locked in this bone-crushing hug. I need soft things.

HEADCANON: Little Mirabel spent so much time with Julieta that she started copying her in many things. One of those things was repeating words/phrases she used the most, and often she was just in-sync with Julieta. So just imagine Julieta and this 3-4yo Mirabel sighing and saying at the same time “Ay Agustín” whenever he got hurt.

Man– Man. I can’t– Can an animation test make you feel?
It’s so good. Wish they kept some dancing scenes with family members others than Pepa and Félix 😭 We deserve this Agustín and Julieta’s dance!
Head empty, only melting heart. shsejkdxhsdx

Chapter 4: Price
Narrated by no one.
~Content Warning: brief police violence~
Narrator: Citizen 219 of Ideal City awakens to a view of a thriving, impeccably structured metropolis.
Narrator: Everyone in this city has a calm, peaceful smile on their face. They all live life in an orderly fashion as pre-set by a system.
Narrator: Most of the citizens are half-transparent and covered in fogs of codes. These are virtual beings created using beta data.
Narrator: Those citizens with a physical form, on the other hand, are experiment samples entering the world through the capsules in the lab.
Narrator: A formidable tower stands in the center of the city. Right when Citizen 219 walks up to the tower, the door of the elevator opens up to him automatically.
Narrator: At the same time, he can hear Glow speaking to him.
Glow: I have a position ready for you here, and I'm sure you'll like it.
Caprico: I can't wait.
Narrator: Carrying Caprico, the elevator speeds upward along an invisible track.
Narrator: As the elevator ascends further away from the ground, he can see that, on the other side of the city, a man seems to be running from something horrifying as he scurries at top speed amongst all the buildings.
Narrator: Behind him is a group of half-transparent virtual police, their siren blaring through the air. Wherever the man goes, the fearful citizens all avoid him like the plague.
Narrator: Bang... a bullet pierces the man following the sound of a gunshot.
Narrator: His consciousness and the siren... everything around him begins to grow distant...
Narrator: Clear but ice-cold, the last voice he hears zaps its way into his consciousness like a bolt of lightning.
System Sound: Reverse experiment complete. Recycling of experiment sample complete.
Narrator: He feels chills down his spine as the truth finally hits him... he has been under "her" watch this entire time.
Narrator: Like a wave that has clashed with a reef, what remains of his consciousness begins to vanish, leaving behind countless little bubbles that shine in the rainbow... before they disappear completely.
Narrator: In the Ocean, those last bits of astonishment and fear are nothing but bubbles that the tides devour in the blink of an eye.
Narrator: The system quickly captures the impure substances that are left behind, erasing any last trace of their existence...
Narrator: A few days later, inside the control room of Central Tower.
Glow: Code-219, I need to thank you for your work. You've refined the impure crystals to a satisfactory extent, which has allowed the new energy system to work perfectly.
Glow: We're ready, and everything can happen as planned on the Ruins Open Day. I can't wait to see Experiment Alpha come to fruition.
Narrator: The present slowly morphs into the future... and now, more so than ever, the distant future is here.
Glow: Everyone here - you and I included - will reach the future together.
Caprico: It would be my pleasure.
Narrator: When the capsule's door opens, Caprico walks out of it. A few meters away from him, the door of another capsule is pushed open.
Narrator: In it is a man, who is gasping for air as he suddenly sits upright. Still shell-shocked from his arrest, the man wears no emotion on his face.
Narrator: Caprico looks over at the man, who just so happens to open his eyes. He knows the man... he is G.
Narrator: Caprico turns away from G. Leaving behind those who will never reach the end of the journey is but a small price that needs to be paid for the grand cause of evolution.

Now that I'm seeing this, I think "Partner" refers to Kawaki so yeah. As much as I'm super hyped to see him shine, I kinda wanted this episode to be about Kurama 🤧
(I swear if they're doing nothing about Kurama, just like Kishimoto and Ikemoto did in the manga, I'm going to flip some tables.)
Also, I think we now have our answer. If episode 218 is the end of the battle against Isshiki, it means episode 221 is a new arc about the Chunnin exam, right?
However, episode 220 "Time Remaining" can still fit your theory about Boruto's Otsutukification.
What do you think?
Shucks! I was just about to talk about this too! I check Abdul's Twitter from time to time to see if there are any new posts (although I don't have a Twitter account haha), and it's timely that just when I saw that, I also saw your ask @chloelapomme haha
So it looks like they're not going to prolong the Baryon mode fight
Most likely, in 217 it's going to be covering chapters 52 and perhaps a portion of 53, and then 53-54 on ep 218 and the conclusion of the the whole Isshiki/Borushiki arc by 219 (which also includes the Kurama scene from chapter 55)
By 220, as I mentioned in the other post, could be referring to Boruto's 'time remaining' as himself before he'll be fully taken over by Momoshiki. This might be a good time for them to fully discuss about his situation (probably get some parts from chap 56? Idk) and I'm hoping that they could add some Sunshine family moments here - considering the ep might also be referring to the time remaining for Boruto with his family/friends/village
(I'm even hoping that they're also going to include something about Kurama in this episode, if not, let's hope they show it/emphasize it more in ep 219)
And yes, I think we can safely assume that by ep 221 we're going to get a new anime arc.
---
Aaaand... I just realized. If most likely the conclusion of the Isshiki arc takes place on Ep 219 with the Kurama scene, it will be happening on Naruto's birthday... 😭😭😭
It's like... It comes in full circle... Kurama was sealed into him on his birthday and then he... You know what comes next 😭😭😭

BnHA Chapter 242: SANTA IS REAL
Previously on BnHA: We said farewell to the League of Pliff and were finally reunited with the kids of U.A., an institution which I would just like to point out is so diametrical to the League that they literally took the polar opposite route when choosing their name, and focused only on the acronym. I’m 100% sure U.A. doesn’t even stand for anything. Anyway, so Bakugou and Todoroki went on whirlwind press tour following their ch 219 antics, and the resulting interviews were so disastrous that Aizawa decided to bring in Mt. Lady to give the whole class a crash course in PR 101. Meanwhile All Might scoured Ancestry.com for info on the past users of OFA, and Rat Principal announced that U.A. was going to resume its internship program. This is great news for Deku, who’s been taking his sweet time mastering Blackwhip. Like, we’re not even talking baby steps here so much as little tiny flea steps. Kid’s going to need all the help he can get.
Today on BnHA: Horikoshi targets all of my weak points at once. The My OT3 Academia arc gets off to an incredible, award-winning start with a Christmas party and the announcement of Internships 2: This Time, it’s Compulsory. Highlights include: (1) Kaminari and Mina forcing Bakugou to accept the spirit of Christmas into his heart and soul, (2) Iida rocking a Santa beard, (3) Eri holding a giant sword, (4) Bakugou reminiscing about his internship with Best MIA Jeanist, specifically the part where Jeanist was all “A HERO’S NAME IS REALLY IMPORTANT AND SYMBOLIC AND MEANINGFUL, SO YOU NEED TO THINK VERY CAREFULLY ABOUT IT” and oh my fucking god, and lastly (5) Todoroki inviting Bakugou and Deku to come intern with him at the Endeavor Hero Agency (known for its famous business slogan: “Got Plot?”). It’s like I wished on seventeen different falling stars and they all came true at once. I still can’t even fucking process this. kfkdslgk.
(All comments are my unspoiled reactions from my initial readthrough of the chapter. I did a quick edit for grammar and clarity immediately afterward, and added a few ETAs in the process, but aside from that there are no changes.)
I just got like three excited-seeming asks (I haven’t actually read them yet) in rapidfire succession less than an hour ago, and my dashboard is now filling up with filtered “bnha spoilers” posts, so I took this as a sign that I should read the new chapter ASAP. oh gosh
(ETA:
(1) SAMEEEEEE, and (2) YEEEEEEEEP. listen I’m not religious you guys, but I said “oh my god” so much while reading this chapter that I wouldn’t be surprised if he or she finally answers and is like, “YES!? WHAT IS IT???”)
what new state-of-the-art tomfoolery will our intrepid heroes engage in this week. what novel hijinks will they commence. what frivolous escapades will they embark on this lovely Friday morn?
HOMGAAAHHHHHH
THE TITLE IS LITERALLY MY FEELINGS RN. MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS TO ME. YES GOD I LOVE IT. I’LL TAKE A DOZEN
okay. so today, September 6th, is officially Christmas. you heard the man and who am I to argue
so we’re opening with a teacher’s meeting! probably about the internships. or the fact that they’re all screwed. I don’t really know what their priorities are nowadays
okay yeah it’s about the internships. also Rat Principal is nested in Aizawa’s scarf for absolutely no reason, and Aizawa is disgruntled about it. heh. tomfoolery already and it’s only the first panel
oh shit, Nezu’s saying it’s now a government requirement. I got so surprised I actually forgot to call him RP
because ain’t nothing safer than hero internships. if the Basement arc taught us nothing else. it’s that
that was sarcasm in case that’s not coming across. this is clearly a baffling decision. but what are government committees for if not for making baffling decisions I guess
and now Midnight is coming to the same conclusion I was starting to wonder at
can someone please tell me what the PSC’s goals actually are, then? is this not the same group that recently changed the rules of the provisional license exam so that an even smaller percentage of people would pass? so do you want more heroes or fewer? which is it?
how do they cope with it? does anyone even have any idea?? it seems to me like they’re just throwing them to the wolves. we have this problem that we have absolutely no idea what to do about, oh I know, let’s toss a bunch of inexperienced kids at it. and hope that none of them gets murdered I guess
anyway so The Sheriff is speculating that the League must have been involved in the Deika situation, and he’s wondering why the PSC is trying so hard to keep it on the dl
oh yeah. friendly reminder that the PSC, thanks to Hawks, probably knows exactly how powerful Tomura and the League have recently become. so they know full well how shark-infested the waters are, and they’re making it mandatory for the kids to all take swimming lessons. nice
lol back when I was brainstorming ideas for future arcs, I seriously thought Horikoshi would have to go out of his way to come up with excuses for the kids to have future encounters with the League, because the school was so concerned with their safety that they wouldn’t allow them to leave the grounds except on rare occasions. well I sure got that one wrong. though to be fair, for once it isn’t U.A. that’s doing the child endangering here
(ETA: and actually, regardless of how insane it is, I do appreciate that when shit inevitably hits the fan again, at least it won’t be U.A.’s fault this time. I’d like to be able to continue rooting for them, and that can be difficult when they keep doing reckless things that needlessly put children in danger. at least this time they’re not the ones driving the Stupid Bus to Bad Decision School.)
a message to who? the League?? “we’re not scared of you”?? did they seriously not think of all the numerous ways this could backfire?
oh shit Aizawa even went and said the d-word
well there you have it. the government is drafting teenagers to risk their lives dealing with a crisis they won’t out-and-out admit they’re actually having. on today’s episode of “Oh Hero Society, You’ve Got Problems”
anyway so RP is making the admittedly good point that “we’re fucked and everyone is in terrible danger” is hardly a new state of affairs for them these days, and so they’re all moving on. okay then. good talk. lol. gonna need my damn Christmas fluff after all of that
and also RP is mentioning some other mysterious new program to Aizawa too. I wonder what that could be
(ETA: oh yeah I almost forgot about this. thoughts??)
and now we’re cutting to “several days later” oh my god. it’s really happening. I need a moment here, I’m not even ready. gotta get all my Christmas headcanons lined up here. Satou baking cookies. Kaminari and Sero running around arm in arm singing “JINGLE BELLS, ALL MIGHT SMELLS” over and over at the top of their lungs until Bakugou screams at them to shut up. Mineta debating anyone who will listen over the merits of the song Baby It’s Cold Outside. the naturally Christmas-themed Todoroki savoring this, his time to shine
oh shit, we’re still with the fucking Rat Principal. for fuck’s sake
-- ooh but are they talking about the traitor??
will this put an end to the “Horikoshi forgot about it” rumors? several people have mentioned this to me here and there (sorry to everyone whose asks I still haven’t answered), but as far as I know, this was part of a fake interview with Horikoshi that was unfortunately circulated around as though it was the real deal. sometimes people are not cool and think it’s fun to take advantage of communities that are enthusiastic and trusting! always fact-check what you read on the internet just to be safe guys
anyway
so there definitely is one, then. got it
so the traitor is definitely a student in the hero class, then. got it
sob. I got an ask about the whole Kaminari traitor theory earlier this week, so I’m in the process of doing up a whole long post about that. but the cliff’s notes version is, it’s not him. it’s Hagakure. but I will actually go into detail in the post. it’s been a while since I’ve discussed the traitor thing in depth anyway
so RP is asking All Might if he’s coming back today, and All Might is immediately all “WHY, DID SOMETHING HAPPEN TO MY CHILD, OH GOD IS HE OKAY” which, omg. so much love for this man
and RP is like “geez relax” and OH MY GOD
[slaps on a paperboy cap and screeches at All Might in a bad cockney accent] TODAY, SIR?? WHY, IT’S CHRISTMAS DAY
OH MY GOD
I SPOT A GRINCH UP THERE AT THE TOP. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE VISITED BY THREE GHOSTS FROM VARIOUS DIFFERENT TIME PERIODS
LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE CHILD (GREMLINS ASIDE) IS WEARING A SANTA CLAUS OUTFIT. DID U.A. JUST GIVE THESE OUT FOR FREE
AND IN THE TOP RIGHT NEXT TO SHOUJI, SATOU’S COOKIES! JUST AS THE PROPHECY FORETOLD
I SEE THEY HAVE THE REQUISITE KFC PLATTERS LIKE GOOD JAPANESE CITIZENS. WE SHOULD ADOPT THIS TRADITION HERE IN THE WEST TOO TBH
and last but not least, there are only nineteen children in this panel. it took me forever to figure out who was missing, but pretty sure it’s Iida. Iida where are you. clearly the traitor. certainly not off visiting his brother and the rest of his family, what kind of gullible fool do you take me for
looool
I love when the characters start to become self-aware that they’re the main characters in a story and that plot things keep happening to them at an unreasonable rate
oh my god they really are wearing the suits. it wasn’t just a title page gimmick like I half-wondered
ANSWER THE QUESTION, JIROU. INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW. do we even know where she did her first internship?? I suddenly desperately want to learn more about this
(ETA: she interned with Death Arms, the traffic cone-looking guy who notably chewed Deku out for trying to save Kacchan’s life in chapter one. Jirou my hope for you is that you find someone better this time around!)
also Tsuyu is observing that Momo doesn’t have a chair, and I honest-to-god was trying to count how much seating there was in the previous page. it seems to me like the common room got a lot bigger. it keeps adjusting to their needs like the room of requirement in Harry Potter
also does anyone else wish that Jirou would move her cup off of the armrest. IT’S GOING TO SPILL ffff :/ this is who I am at parties
oh shit wait, that was Iida with the beard?? I honestly thought that was Satou. well then Satou is the traitor. -- NOBODY TOUCH THOSE COOKIES!!
anyway so he’s all “well Deku not to bring up the elephant in the room but YOUR PREVIOUS MENTOR DIED A HORRIBLE DEATH so what’s your plan huh”
oh sweet god
listen, no offense to Centipeder, he seems like a really nice guy, but if I never see his repulsive face again I will count myself lucky
OH FOR FUCK’S
PLEASE GET RID OF IT IT IS CHRISTMAS!!! here I am trying to have a nice time and!!
god. and like, I feel bad, it’s not his fault he is A GIANT BUG and he has like, fucking mandibles and shit! but I can’t help the fact that my skin is trying to crawl off my body right now, and god but I can barely look at this panel long enough to read the dialogue sob why
(ETA: and now that I’ve forced myself to read it again, this doesn’t even make any sense lol. “we have too much work and not enough help, so we have to pass on you coming back to help us out. ...wait.”)
I want Iida to like. pat his lap and tell Deku in a big booming voice to cheer up and come sit and tell him what he wants for Christmas. not in a weird way you guys, come on. but just, he looks so forlorn. do you want Santa to bring you some cozy All Might socks
or wait, didn’t he want a PS Vita according to that one omake thing. what the fuck Deku. someone get this kid a Switch
anyway so Deku says that participation is mandatory this time, so the school will handle assignments if the kids aren’t able to find someone
meanwhile Kacchan is in the background accusing Mina of stalking him. I think she is trying to get him to wear his Santa outfit. doin’ god’s work
OH SHIT YOU GUYS I CLICKED TO THE NEXT PAGE, AND THIS. THIS IS MY CHRISTMAS OMFG
HORIKOSHI YOU DID GET MY LIST! BAKUGOU BEING TROLLED BY HIS SNEAKY DETERMINED FRIENDS AND MANHANDLED INTO A RIDICULOUS GETUP WHILST ANGSTING ABOUT BEST JEANIST BEING MISSING, YESSSSSS. IT’S SO SPECIFIC, I THOUGHT, “SURELY HE WON’T ACTUALLY DO IT,” BUT SANTA IS REAL, EVERYONE
HFMLSDKMGLKLKL!!!!!LKL:DSF
RED ALERT RED FUCKING ALERT PEOPLE!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHH HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS
“MERRY CHRISTMAS MAKESTE HERE’S A WHOLE FUCKING CHAPTER ABOUT KACCHAN’S FUCKING HERO NAME COMPLETE WITH A BEST JEANIST META ON THE TOPIC” mother fucker I need to start reading these chapters with a goddamn life alert and a defibrillator on standby
“your name represents your wish.” ladies and gentlemen, introducing the new number one hero... Number One Hero!
heh. just kidding. “what do you want to become?” this, though. this right fucking here is why I’ve been dying to know what name he’ll actually choose. because it does reflect exactly what Jeanist is saying. whichever name he chooses will be an insight into who he is, and who he is trying to be
and this meta is making me rethink all my chapter 223 feels, and tbh now I’m back to thinking that it’s not going to be Ground Zero, unless he comes up with a cool reason for why that name ties in to the image of the person he wants to be (because right now, that particular name is tied more to the past than to the future). but oh my god, if he does choose the name Kacchan I am going to spontaneously combust. I will fucking do it. I will fucking die from being a dramatic excited bitch
(ETA: because. listen. there is one person who has always looked up to him in spite of everything and has always seen his potential. “in the end, in my mind, you’re the image of victory.” this, to me, is the meaning that the name “Kacchan” would have if he did choose it. it would symbolize him choosing to be his best self.)
don’t mind me I’m just stanning this child so fucking hard it hurts
(ETA: oh hey, and more feels on the reread because it looks like the reason he’s having this flashback is because he was planning to go back to Jeanist’s agency to do his real internship, and to show him how much he’s grown. but then The Thing happened. Hawks I just want to talk why won’t you answer my calls.)
Mina and Kaminari are the MVPs of this fucking chapter and I owe them my life omggggg. THEY’RE HERE TO SAVE CHRISTMAS
what are you thinking about there, Best Friend?
are you thinking about your daddy angst. penny for your thoughts
(ETA: “how can I cheer up my new best friend? I know, I’ll make him a lucrative job offer.” actually that’s a good way to cheer up just about anyone in this day and age, Shouto.)
okay, is there some sort of perverted context to Christmas that I’m totally missing here?? or is Mineta just really into the holiday spirit?
I feel like I missed something. eh
anyway Mr. Traitor himself is walking out now and HE’S BROUGHT THE CHRISTMAS GOOSE! or turkey! but goose sounded funnier
of all the things to be shocked about?? “SATOU CAN COOK!?!” like um yes hello you’ve been living with this guy for four months already? like the only thing more ridiculous than this would be, “TOKOYAMI IS A BIRD!?!”
(ETA: like I know baking and cooking are two different things, but in a manga they’re the same thing. fact.)
now someone is making a dramatic entrance! IS IT ERI I WILL DIE!!!! BRING IT
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I HEREBY SWEAR FEALTY TO THIS PANEL OF AN ADORABLY AND FESTIVELY DRESSED ERI MIXING UP HOLIDAYS WHILE DADZAWA PATIENTLY CORRECTS HER. I WILL PROTECT IT WITH MY LIFE. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS CHAPTER SO THAT I CAN GO DO IT SOME MORE AGAIN, OVER AND OVER AND OVER
Ochako is me
(ETA: DEMONS OUT! DEMONS IN!! THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!! YOU DO THE HOOOOOOOOKEY POKEY.)
and Kiri is out here asking the real questions, but sadly Aizawa says Mirio is spending Christmas with his own class. WELL FINE. I HOPE HE’S EXPERIENCING THE FOMO OF A LIFETIME. HOW DARE HE HAVE OTHER FRIENDS whatever I’m over it
sobbbbb
WELL HOW MANY FUCKING HOLIDAYS ARE THERE!? CAN SOMEONE HELP A GIRL OUT OR WHAT
oh my god I’m just going to reblog every single Dadzawa panel and none of you can stop me go on and try!!
impatiently waiting for fanart of Aizawa tucking Eri in and reading her A Visit from St. Nicholas. get on it, fandom
ohhhhhhhhh my goddddddd
I know it’s not a Christmas song, but I am this close to cranking up “I Gotta Feeling” by the fucking Black Eyed Peas. ya feel
do you guys see him sitting there next to Dadzawa. he finally gave in. Satou is feeding him chicken. his friends will not abandon him to be on the naughty list. motherfucker that’s it. I’m fucking doing it. fill up my cup. mazel tov
lol I don’t even want to click to any more pages because they’re all so happy and it won’t fucking last. :( noooo
good little boys and girls. noshing on that chicken. Kacchan continuing to be stalked by the Ghost of Christmas Friendship. Tokoyami what even is that. lol and is this their weird way of distributing random gifts. did Sero buy Jirou a scarf. did Deku buy Ochako a freaking All Might plush keychain!? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHAT IS THAT THING AND WHY DOES ERI HAVE IT NOW AND WHY IS SHE MAKING THIS FACE
-- holy fuck, IT’S A SWORD. oh my god. THEY GAVE THE SEVEN YEAR OLD A FREAKING BUSTER SWORD AND SHE IS FEELING IT YESSSS THIS CHAPTER TRULY IS ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE
“dad can I keep it.” Aizawa: [not even opening his eyes, all bundled up in his oogie boogie suit] “sure”
so now we’re cutting to afterwards and everyone’s cleaning up and Deku’s using his freakish super strength to lift heavy things impressively while Bakugou continues to stomp around with his hands shoved into his pockets waiting for someone to finally tell him he can go back upstairs
OH???
motherfucker. are you going to invite them to come intern with you and your dad!!?!?? I know I was all set on Bakugou interning with Miruko just last week, but I TELL YOU WHAT BITCHES, I’M FUCKING FLEXIBLE LIKE THAT
OH SHIT YOU GUYS!!!!
TODOROKI ARE YOU PLAYING THE OT3 SONG BECAUSE HONEY YOU KNOW THAT’S MY JAM, BRO
OH FUCKING SHIT YESSSSS

My thoughts on Dr. Stone’s Chapter 219 (“Three Heroes”)
My thoughts after reading Chapter 219:
01. The three heroes are going to be petrified going into space... :O But, how will they be revived? Some kind of timed revival fluid shower or something? And if they’re going to be revived eventually, then why not make better life support technology for them to use?
02. I never even considered the idea of reviving three modern era astronauts, but it’s nice to know they considered and rejected the possibility :) I want people I care about to go to space, not three strangers :D And expertise against Whyman’s attacks is such a logical thing to take into account! :)
03. Ryusui is the pilot, of course... but, Dr. Xeno has to stay on Earth at mission control? So he was never possible as a candidate? Interesting... :O
04. I was laughing so hard when Dr. Xeno brought up stamina XD Under other circumstances, Senku would be the obvious choice, but... stamina? Senku? Hahahahaha! XD Oh, poor Senku... XD
05. Nikki’s back, and since we can have our key people back, so is everybody else! :D Yuzuriha, Ginro, Matsukaze... although... Ginro still hasn’t changed... :O And Kohaku was so happy to see him, too... :)
06. Tsukasa’s great at swimming, because he’s like that with all physical stuff, and Kinro, Ginro, and Magma are awesome at swimming, too, being from Ishigami Village! :D
07. Senku’s eyes shined as he remembered his past experience of helping Byakuya with HIS clothed swimming test, and he drew strength from the memory of Byakuya’s success! :’) That’s wonderful! :)
08. Kohaku looks so cute, all determined like that XD Oh, Poor Kohaku! After being shown the incredibly complicated maze puzzle, she just straight-up died... XD Senku’s breezing through this part of the test, though! :D
09. Looks like Kinro and Magma could still stand after the equilibrium test, but it made poor Ginro throw up! :O
10. Tsukasa may be a good jumper, but Kohaku’s even better! :D She did jump that ridiculously wide gorge, after all! :O
11. Kohaku and Tsukasa quality time, yay! :) But he attacked her all of a sudden, so... less yay? :O BUT, even though Kohaku defended herself, she still had faith in him :) And as it turns out, it was of course just to gauge her skills, and we even got a callback to the day they first met! :D
12. And now it looks like she’s just as good a warrior as Tsukasa and Hyoga after all the life-and-death battles she’s gone through! :O (Although Tsukasa’s still better than her at martial arts.)
13. And after hearing from Tsukasa, the kingdom of science’s battle expert, about what kind of warrior would be needed on the moon, Senku and Dr. Xeno announced that the three heroic astronauts will be... Ryusui, Senku, and Kohaku!! :D Senku and Kohaku are going to the moon together! :) And Ryusui will be there, too! XD I totally predicted this trio, and I was right! :D I’m so, so glad Kohaku was chosen - she deserves it! :)
14. I must say, though... this is going to be really hard for Suika :( Her three favorite people are going to outer space on the most dangerous mission of all... :O
15. I’m going to go read the next chapter now... they might launch the manned rocket at the end of the next chapter, so I hope I see a lot of the Ishigami Villagers in the next chapter (and other kingdom of science folks, too) giving the three heroes their well wishes! :) I especially hope to see emotional moments with Chrome, Ruri, Suika, and Kokuyou! :D Oh, and Taiju and Yuzuriha, too! :) And Sai will probably have a moment with Ryusui :) Also, I hope Senku and Kohaku will have another nighttime/sunrise chat, like they did in Chapter 140! :D

Today’s reading in the ancient book of Proverbs and Psalms
for Thursday, August 6 of 2020 with Proverbs 6 and Psalm 6 accompanied by Psalm 48 for the 48th day of Summer and Psalm 69 for day 219 of the year
[Proverbs 6]
My son, if you will risk your family’s future to put up collateral for the debts of an acquaintance,
if you seal a commitment with a handshake to someone without first knowing the value of his word,
Then your words may well be the trap that snares you,
and your promise may seal your fate.
You can’t be sure to whom you hitched your future.
So, my son—save yourself! Here’s what you need to do:
go to that person who became your master with a handshake,
humble yourself, and plead your case.
Do not sleep;
don’t even rest your eyes until you deal with this.
Get out as quickly as possible,
as a gazelle runs from the hand of the hunter,
as a bird takes off from the grip of the fowler.
Take a lesson from the ant, you who love leisure and ease.
Observe how it works, and dare to be just as wise.
It has no boss,
no one laying down the law or telling it what to do,
Yet it gathers its food through summer
and takes what it needs from the harvest.
How long do you plan to lounge your life away, you lazy fool?
Will you ever get out of bed?
You say, “A little sleep, a little rest,
a few more minutes, a nice little nap.”
But soon poverty will be on top of you like a robber;
need will assault you like a well-armed warrior.
Someone who struts around taking advantage of unsuspecting souls
and deceiving others is to be avoided.
With a wink of his eye, a quick shuffle of his feet,
and a slight gesture with his hand, he signals his roguish treachery.
With a warped mind and twisted heart, he constantly looks for his own gain at others’ expense,
causing friction everywhere he goes.
But you watch: his actions will bring sudden disaster!
In an instant, his life will be shattered,
and there will be nothing to save him.
Take note, there are six things the Eternal hates;
no, make it seven He abhors:
Eyes that look down on others, a tongue that can’t be trusted,
hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that conceives evil plans,
feet that sprint toward evil,
A false witness who breathes out lies,
and anyone who stirs up trouble among the faithful.
So, my son, follow your father’s direction,
and don’t forget what your mother taught you—
Keep their teachings close to your heart;
engrave them on a pendant, and hang it around your neck.
Their instruction will guide you along your journey,
guard you when you sleep,
and address you when you wake in the morning.
For their direction is a lamp; their instruction will light your path,
and their discipline will correct your missteps,
sending you down the right path of life.
They will keep you far from the corrupted woman,
away from the smooth talk of a seductive woman.
Do not lose yourself in desire for her beauty
or let her win you over with her painted eyes,
For you can buy a harlot with a loaf of bread,
but sex with another man’s wife will cost you your life.
Can you carry fire right next to your body
and keep your clothes from burning?
Can you walk over fiery coals
and keep your feet from blistering?
Take another man’s wife, and you will find out—
whoever touches her will be found guilty.
People don’t despise a thief
who only steals to fill his hunger;
Still if they catch him, he must repay seven times over—
he could end up losing everything he owns!
By contrast only a fool would commit adultery
since by his action he loses not only his possessions but also his own life.
He will suffer injury and be disgraced;
dishonor will leave a permanent mark on his life.
For jealousy sparks a husband’s rage—
when he gets his revenge, he’ll show no mercy.
He will not be paid off or appeased;
no bribe or gift will set things right.
The Book of Proverbs, Chapter 6 (The Voice)
[Psalm 6]
For the worship leader. A song of David accompanied by the lyre.
O Eternal One, don’t punish me in Your anger
or harshly correct me.
Show me grace, Eternal God. I am completely undone.
Bring me back together, Eternal One. Mend my shattered bones.
My soul is drowning in darkness.
How long can You, the Eternal, let things go on like this?
Come back, Eternal One, and lead me to Your saving light.
Rescue me because I know You are truly compassionate.
I’m alive for a reason—I can’t worship You if I’m dead.
If I’m six feet under, how can I thank You?
I’m exhausted. I cannot even speak, my voice fading as sighs.
Every day ends in the same place—lying in bed, covered in tears,
my pillow wet with sorrow.
My eyes burn, devoured with grief;
they grow weak as I constantly watch for my enemies.
All who are evil, stay away from me
because the Eternal hears my voice, listens as I cry.
The Eternal God hears my simple prayers;
He receives my request.
All who seek to destroy me will be humiliated;
they will turn away and suddenly crumble in shame.
The Book of Psalms, Poem 6 (The Voice)
[Psalm 48]
Beautiful Zion
A poetic song, for the prophetic singers of Korah’s clan
There are so many reasons to describe God as wonderful!
So many reasons to praise him with unlimited praise!
Zion-City is his home; he lives on his holy mountain—
high and glorious, joy filled and favored.
Zion-Mountain looms in the farthest reaches of the north,
the city of our incomparable King!
This is his divine abode, an impenetrable citadel,
for he is known to dwell in the highest place.
See how the mighty kings united to come against Zion,
yet when they saw God manifest in front of their eyes,
they were stunned.
Trembling, they all fled away, gripped with fear.
Seized with panic, they doubled up in frightful anguish
like a woman in the labor pains of childbirth.
Like a hurricane blowing and breaking the invading ships,
God blows upon them and breaks them to pieces.
We have heard about these wonders,
and then we saw them with our own eyes.
For this is the city of the Commander of Angel Armies,
the city of our God, safe and secure forever!
Pause in his presence
Lord, as we worship you in your temple,
we recall over and over your kindness to us
and your unending love.
The fame of your name echoes throughout the entire world,
accompanied with praises.
Your right hand is full of victory.
So let the people of Zion rejoice with gladness;
let the daughters of praise leap for joy!
For God will see to it that you are judged fairly.
Circle Zion; count her towers.
Consider her walls, climb her palaces,
and then go and tell the coming generation
of the care and compassion of our God.
Yes, this is our God, our great God forever.
He will lead us onward until the end,
through all time, beyond death,
and into eternity!
The Book of Psalms, Poem 48 (The Passion Translation)
[Psalm 69]
For the worship leader. A song of David to the tune “Lilies.”
Reach down for me, True God; deliver me.
The waters have risen to my neck; I am going down!
My feet are swallowed in this murky bog;
I am sinking—there is no sturdy ground.
I am in the deep;
the floods are crashing in!
I am weary of howling;
my throat is scratched dry.
I still look for my God
even though my eyes fail.
My enemies despise me without any cause;
they outnumber the hairs on my head.
They torment me with their power;
they have absolutely no reason to hate me.
Now I am set to pay for crimes
I have never committed!
O True God, my foolish ways are plain before You;
my mistakes—no, nothing can be hidden from You.
Don’t let Your hopeful followers face disgrace because of me,
O Lord, Eternal One, Commander of heaven’s armies;
Don’t let Your seekers be shamed on account of me,
O True God of Israel.
I have been mocked when I stood up for You;
I cower, shamefaced.
You know my brothers and sisters?
They now reject me—they act as if I never existed.
I’m like a stranger to my own family.
And here’s why: I am consumed with You, completely devoted to protecting Your house;
when they insult You, they insult me.
When I mourn and discipline my soul by fasting,
they deride me.
And when I put on sackcloth,
they mock me.
Those who sit at the gate gossip about me;
I am shamed by the slurred songs of drunkards.
But, Eternal One, I just pray the time is right
that You would hear me. And, True God,
because You are enduring love, that You would answer.
In Your faithfulness, please, save me.
Pluck me from this murky bog;
don’t let it pull me down!
Pull me from this rising water;
take me away from my enemies to dry land.
Don’t let the flood take me under
or let me, Your servant, be swallowed into the deep
or let the yawning pit seal me in!
O Eternal One, hear me. Answer me. For Your enduring love is good comfort;
in Your great mercy, turn toward me.
Yes, shine Your face upon me, Your servant;
put an end to my anguish—don’t wait another minute.
Come near; rescue me!
Set me free from my enemies.
You know all my opponents;
You see them, see the way they treat me—
humiliating me with insults, trying to disgrace me.
All this ridicule has broken my heart,
killed my spirit.
I searched for sympathy, and I came up empty.
I looked for supporters, but there was no one.
Even more, they gave me poison for my food
and offered me only sour vinegar to drink.
Let them be ambushed at the dinner table,
caught in a trap when they least expect it.
Cloud their vision so they cannot see;
make their bodies shake, their knees knock in terror.
Pour out Your fiery wrath upon them!
Make a clean sweep; engulf them with Your flaming fury.
May their camps be bleak
with not one left in any tent.
Because they have persecuted the one You have struck,
add insult to those whom You have wounded.
Compound their sins; don’t let them off the hook!
Keep them from entering into Your mercy.
Blot out their names from Your book of life
so they will not be recorded alongside those who are upright before You.
I am living in pain; I’m suffering,
so save me, True God, and keep me safe in troubled times!
The name of the True God will be my song,
an uplifting tune of praise and thanksgiving!
My praise will please the Eternal more than if I were to sacrifice an ox
or the finest bull. (Horns, hooves, and all!)
Those who humbly serve will see and rejoice!
All you seekers-after-God will revive your souls!
The Eternal listens to the prayers of the poor
and has regard for His people held in bondage.
All God’s creation: join together in His praise! All heaven, all earth,
all seas, all creatures of the ocean deep!
The True God will save Zion
and rebuild the cities of Judah
So that His servants may own it and live there once again.
Their children and children’s children shall have it as their inheritance,
and those who love His name will live in it.

The Buy Pile: Welcome To Image Comics’ God Country
WHAT IS THE BUY PILE?
Every week Hannibal Tabu (winner of the 2012 Top Cow Talent Hunt/blogger/novelist/poet/jackass on Twitter/head honcho of Komplicated) grabs a whole lotta comics. These periodicals are quickly sorted (how) into two piles — the “buy” pile (a small pile most weeks, comprised of planned purchases) and the “read” pile (often huge, often including comics that are really crappy but have some value to stay abreast of). Thursday afternoons you’ll be able to get his thoughts (and they’re just the opinions of one guy, so calm down, and here’s some common definitions used in the column) about all of that … which goes something like this …
THE BUY PILE FOR JANUARY 11, 2017
God Country #1 (Image Comics)
Jump from the Read Pile. Whoa. This staggering new idea — and it is that, a wholly new idea — does everything right in a pitch perfect first issue. What seems like a fairly by-the-numbers if effectively presented family drama takes a big turn in the third act and becomes something magnificent. Too much to spoil, but the script from writer Donny Cates delivers characters and a plot that work and feel right while the visuals from Geoff Shaw, Jason Wordie, and John J. Hill effectively makes a desolate section of Texas come alive on the page. Where has this book been hiding? Wow.
It’s a bumpy ride but still pretty good in “Deathstroke” #10
Deathstroke #10 (DC Comics)
Warning: this issue signals a chance for this series to lose its “buy on sight” status. There were some solid developments in small doses — Rose Wilson using her gifts to bond with her mother’s relatives and a flashback for the titular character — but the story wasn’t a single cohesive narrative and meandered too restlessly. There was a lot to enjoy, but this issue didn’t stand up to the series’ standards. Had this been read before purchasing, it would be an honorable mention, so let’s see if it can find its way back to greatness next issue.
Harlem’s heating up in “Power Man and Iron Fist” #12
Power Man And Iron Fist #12 (Marvel Comics)
Despite the super powers and sometimes spectacular (or in Iron Fist’s case, laughable) costumes, this is a crime comic done so well. Three rival groups — the Black Cat and Piranha Jones on one hand, the formerly dead teen genius Alex Wilder on a second and albino crime lord Tombstone as a third — are all vying for control of the criminal underworld in Harlem. Along the way, the innocent became victims of the system and the guilty saw their crimes washed away, all with two best buds caught in the middle. David Walker’s script allows everyone a moment to shine in a harmonic smoothness that makes this book a joy to read. The visuals from Sanford Greene, Lee Loughridge and Clayton Cowles are rough hewn but fitting for the highly kinetic, rough and tumble city streets. This book is a joy to read and almost Shakespearean in its machinations.
Get into the Wayback Machine for a secret origin in “The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl” #16
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #16 (Marvel Comics)
The origin issue is a staple in comics, and with her 25th anniversary as a character (wow!) we look back at the literal origins of Doreen Green, who didn’t have to wait until puberty to begin her climb into awesomeness. From what could be the most awesome five-year-old birthday party ever (apologies to the children of this columnist) to celebrations of her birthday throughout the years this wonderfully exposed not only her great character development but also her longtime relationship with her squirrel friend Monkey Joe (no idea why he’s called that). Ryan North turns in another winning script (with Will Murray, Squirrel Girl’s creator) and the cartoony, kinetic stylings of Erica Henderson, Rico Renzi and Travis Lanham (with a Steve Ditko sketch in there, too) deliver big time.
WHAT’S THE PROGNOSIS?
Even in the sole challenge, there were high points, plus that great jump from Image, so that’s a good thing …
THIS WEEK’S READ PILE
Honorable Mentions: Stuff worth noting, even if it’s not good enough to buy
“Occupy Avengers” #3 was very close to making it home as the chemistry and banter between characters was as engaging as the clean, gorgeous artwork. Unfortunately, we were all having such a good time making new friends that the plot didn’t keep up, lacking story meat when push came to shove. Very close and the first two issues were stellar, so this will likely pick up steam next issue.
“Doctor Who The Eleventh Doctor Year Three” #1 had a lot of charm and started strong but didn’t finish or tell a complete story, as if it never had any intentions of being a single installment. Enjoyable until it was frustrating.
If the changes in Victor Creed last longer than this crossover, “Uncanny X-Men” #17 might be worth noting. As it was, too many red shirts fell and too much monologuing from Sabretooth made this a little emo even amongst all the bloodshed.
“Green Valley” #4 was running a little too slowly for its own good, but answered a number of questions about the nature of the threat and did some solid character development.
“Captain America Steve Rogers” #9 succeeded largely in its flashbacks, giving the cosmic cube-powered retcon real resonance and gravity. It failed mightily in its cover-advertised “Trial of Maria Hill,” which had procedural, scientific and logical flaws big enough to fly a helicarrier through (unless Everett K. Ross is just a really bad lawyer). This gets closer to finding its ground, but hasn’t made it there yet.
The “Meh” Pile Not good enough to praise, not bad enough to insult, they just kind of happened … “Titans” #7, “Ninjak” #23, “Deadpool” #24, “All-Star Batman” #6, “Foolkiller” #3, “Dungeons And Dragons Frost Giant’s Fury” #1, “Guardians Of The Galaxy” #16, “Hard Case Crime The Assignment” #1, “Totally Awesome Hulk” #14, “Detective Comics” #948, “Spider-Man Deadpool” #13, “Birthright” #21, “Flash” #14, “Spider-Man” #12, “Hard Case Crime Triggerman” #4, “Jessica Jones” #4, “Doctor Who The Tenth Doctor Year Three” #1, “Khaal” #1, “Rocket Raccoon” #2, “Hal Jordan And The Green Lantern Corps” #12, “James Bond Felix Leiter” #1, “Justice League Power Rangers” #1, “Silk” #16, “Samurai Brothers In Arms” #5, “Uncanny Avengers” #19, “Wonder Woman” #14, “E.V.I.L. Heroes” #4, “All-New Wolverine” #16, “Red Hood And The Outlaws” #6, “Deep” #1, “Mighty Thor” #15, “Suicide Squad” #9, “Assassin’s Creed Awakening” #3, “Superwoman” #6, “Flash Gordon Kings Cross” #3, “Motro” #3, “Violent Love” #3, “Supergirl” #5, “Marvel Universe Guardians Of The Galaxy” #16, “Mega Princess” #3, “Spawn” #269, “Groo Fray Of The Gods” #4, “Scooby Apocalypse” #9, “Savage Dragon” #219, “Namesake” #3, “Doctor Strange And The Sorcerers Supreme” #4, “New Super-Man” #7, “Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows” #3, “Doctor Who The Third Doctor” #4, “Ms. Marvel” #14, “Justice League Of America Vixen Rebirth” #1, “Motor Crush” #2, “Inhumans Vs X-Men” #2, “Gotham Academy Second Semester” #5, “Red Sonja” #1, “Star Wars Poe Dameron” #10, “Earth 2 Society” #20, “Invisible Republic” #14, “Batgirl And The Birds Of Prey” #6, “Great Lakes Avengers” #4, “Doctor Who The Twelfth Doctor Year Two” #13, “Action Comics” #971, “Daredevil” #15.
No, just … no … These comics? Not so much … … what? Nothing awful? That’s fantastic!
SO, HOW BAD WAS IT?
Good to have nothing to complain about.
WINNERS AND LOSERS
Call this week a winner with that brilliant new idea and nothing to truly be angry about.
THE BUSINESS
The writer of this columnist will be a special guest at Black Comix Arts Festival in San Francisco, making a number of new announcements about comics projects for 2017.
The writer of this column isn’t just a jerk who spews his opinions — he writes stuff too. A lot. Like what? You can get “The Crown: Ascension” and “Faraway,” five bucks a piece, or spend a few more dollars and get “New Money” #1 from Canon Comics, the rambunctious tale of four multimillionaires running wild in Los Angeles, a story in “Watson and Holmes Volume 2” co-plotted by “2 Guns” creator Steven Grant, two books from Stranger Comics — “Waso: Will To Power” and the sequel “Waso: Gathering Wind” (the tale of a young man who had leadership thrust upon him after a tragedy), or “Fathom Sourcebook” #1, “Soulfire Sourcebook” #1, “Executive Assistant Iris Sourcebook” #1 and “Aspen Universe Sourcebook,” the official guides to those Aspen Comics franchises. Love these reviews? It’d be great if you picked up a copy. Hate these reviews? Find out what this guy thinks is so freakin’ great. There’s free sample chapters too, and all proceeds to towards the care and maintenance of his kids … oh, and to buy comic books, of course. There’s also a bunch of great stuff — fantasy, superhero stuff, magical realism and more — available from this writer on Amazon. What are you waiting for? Go buy a freakin’ book already!
Got a comic you think should be reviewed in The Buy Pile? If we get a PDF of a fairly normal length comic (i.e. “less than 64 pages”) by no later than 24 hours before the actual issue arrives in stores (and sorry, we can only review comics people can go to stores and buy), we guarantee the work will get reviewed, if remembered. Physical comics? Geddouttahere. Too much drama to store with diminishing resources. If you send it in more than two days before comics come out, the possibility of it being forgotten increases exponentially. Oh, you should use the contact form as the CBR email address hasn’t been regularly checked since George W. Bush was in office. Sorry!

Chapter 2: An Invitation
Narrated by no one.
Narrator: Having spent a sleepless night, Caprico walks out of the workshop and fills his mouth with a nutrient solution. He then opens his inbox and copies a payment reminder email before sending it out.
You: Wow, this guy owes you money?
Caprico: I only allowed it because he's a regular. He'd better be dead now... or else I'm going to make him regret the day he was born.
Narrator: "G's Order Form" is what it says on the payment reminder that Caprico sent out. Data Recorder, Collector, Portable Brainwave Blocker... all made from bionic materials that can be injected into the body.
You: Whatever this "G" is doing doesn't seem entirely safe.
Caprico: And that would be the case with all of my clients. Their safety and how they use my products are the least of my concerns, as long as they pay me on time.
Narrator: Right then, the doorbell rings. A visitor reminder pops up on Caprico's screen as the screen connects to the monitor at the door.
Narrator: The monitor, however, shows no one at the door... except for a parcel that sits on the ground.
Narrator: With a frown on his face, Caprico brings the parcel in with a robotic arm. He opens it and sees nothing in it other than a clean-looking bracelet.
Narrator: He proceeds to analyze the bracelet with his device. The device, however, is unable to tell him how the bracelet was made.
Narrator: "Ping"... as if trying to tell him that he's being monitored, Caprico's computer rings, after which an email pops up.
Narrator: On it, there is nothing but one short line... Code-219, this is an invitation from Glow.
Choose either "Glow? Code-219?" or "This parcel doesn't seem right."
If "Glow," ...
You: Glow? Code-219? What do they mean?
Caprico: Glow is Ruins' Administration AI and the world's most perfect artificial intelligence. And Code-219... would be me.
If "parcel," ...
You: This parcel doesn't seem right. It seems like the sender has hacked into your computer. Aren't you going to do something about this?
Caprico: Glow is the only thing that's capable of it. She's the most advanced artificial intelligence, so I'm sure it could have been much worse had she meant to hurt me.
--
Caprico: Glow and I go way back, so I'm positive that this bracelet came from Ruins. What I don't understand, though, is why she's reaching out to me all of a sudden.
Narrator: Weighing his options, Caprico decides to put the bracelet on his wrist. As soon as it's activated, the built-in hologram projector in the bracelet shows the hologram of a female that is missing facial features.
Electronic Sound: Identifying user appearance... Analyzing user preferences... Analysis complete. Reforming hologram. Hologram complete.
Narrator: A few ripples later, the hologram becomes complete with facial features... it's now a face facing Caprico with a perfect smile, a face that he can't be more familiar with.
Narrator: Glow showed Caprico her human form years ago when he was a student at Ruins.
Glow: Hi, Code-219. Nice to see you again. I see you're still the same.
Narrator: The hologram seems both real and surreal against a dark backdrop of the deserted factory. Caprico's eyes shine with the light particles around the hologram.
Narrator: This is the brainchild of the most advanced technology, a perfect artificial intelligence.
Narrator: When Glow walks a step closer to Caprico, some of the light particles on her start raining down.
Glow: I would like to invite you to join me somewhere.
Caprico: Where?
Narrator: The light particles landing around Caprico are reminiscent of ice-cold sparks that land on the soil.
Glow: Future.
