Hi! Thanks for answering my question EXO’s preferred partner age range. I rly appreciate it!

I rly agree with your opinion. Tho, I can’t rly see Jongin, Kyungsoo, Minseok, Yixing, or Junmyeon being with someone older. I’m not saying u are wrong, so please don’t mad. I mean, Yixing has said multiple times that he would prefer his partner to be a few years younger than him (I’m thinking like b/w 1993-1996 or 1997). With Jongin, based on the fact that he has 2 older sisters and his 2 irl gfs were younger than him, I think he also prefers his s/o to be younger (Feb 1994-1997). Xiumin, simply cuz he’s the oldest and he wants someone he can protect tho I don’t think he’d date someone younger than his sister. And with Soo and Jun, I just can’t rly see them with an older partner. Maybe for a fling but a full on relationship.

On the flip side tho, I feel Chanyeol, Sehun, Baekhyun, and Jongdae don’t rly have a preference. I feel like these 4 just want someone to love them for them, and age isn’t rly a big deal. As long as they’re adults and not older than their mothers [I think Chanyeol even said he would be open to dating an older woman as long as she’s not older than his mom lol]. It also depends on what they’re looking for. For example, like Jongdae and Baekhyun if they’re looking a fling, they’d go for someone younger while being seriously committed to someone older. On the other hand, Sehun and Chanyeol would look for flings in older ppl while more serious relationships would be with someone younger.

Idek if that makes sense but I hope you know that I’m not trying to say you’re wrong😅. These are just these are some of the headcannons I have. But I do agree with your opinion regarding the age ranges!

yeah, i don't particularly think there's any of them who would look for someone older, but love is such a funny thing so who can guarantee they won't fall in love with an older person, you know? so i was thinking about that when i wrote those ranges, like "what's the oldest and the youngest they would be willing to date and have a full relationship with?".

Idk ab you but I totally headcannon the others members teasing the shit out of each when one of them introduces their partner for the first time. Like Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Jongdae immediately start telling their most embarrassing stories they can think of while hyung-line try (and fail) to rein them in, tho they secretly enjoy it. Kyungsoo makes some sassy remarks about if the member is giving them a hard time, to let him know and he’ll take care of it. Sehun and Jongin are just trying to see who can piss their hyung the quickest (unless it’s them in the hot seat).

Like one big giant chaotic family lol.

- “ahh, you must be my roommate! i was just unpacking, but i can help you with your things if you need it.”

- and you’re like damn he tall and cute and nice how am i gonna do this pls help

- while you’re unpacking you’d get to know each other a little bit

- you learn his major is music and you physically feel your heart skip a beat

- anyway he suggests that you both take turns making breakfast every morning so neither of you leave for class hungry

EXO Reaction To You Being A Cosplayer

Minseok:

You had decided to be up front and honest with Minseok once you two had been steady for a couple months or so. He had opened up to you about his hobbies so you wanted to do the same. You would be laying on the sofa watching a film when the thought popped back into your head.

"Minseok, I need to tell you now before I forget again, I'm a cosplayer." You smiled sheepishly, the grin dimmed by the poor lighting from the television. You felt his arm snake around your shoulders and he gave you a tight squeeze before settling his eyes back on the TV.

"That's pretty cool." He smiled.

Junmyeon:

You were in the living room,surfing through channels whilst Junmyeon had disappeared into your room to fetch his phone. You couldn't a sound peep from that room until he called out your name and came walking out holding a piece of clothing. You then clocked what it was, part of your cosplaying outfit.

You blushed furiously and told him to put it away back in your room; he gave you the widest of grins before strutting back down the hallway to put it back.

Yixing:

"What is this?" Yixing asked as he walked up to you holding a mask for one of your cosplaying outfits. He had a curious look on his face that showed true confusion but also showed that he was intrigued to find out. He would get to know you better of course.

"I cosplay." You answered simply and he nodded with a thoughtful expression. You knew he would accept your hobby and so you had no trouble telling him about it.

Baekhyun:

You had confessed one evening walking down alongside the Han River, the city lights reflected off the rippling water. He was surprise when you had told him as you were able to keep it a secret for so long. And then, the teasing settled in. His constant comments of what characters you cosplayed and where you kept your secret stash of costumes. He also seemed rather interested on what you looked like dressed up.

"I'd love to see you all dressed up in your outfits sometime." He teased.

Jongdae:

It was a long day at work and all you wanted to do was get home, have a warm and relaxing bath and snuggle into bed beside your loving boyfriend. But once you unlocked the door to your apartment and kicked off your shoes from your aching feet, you were met with the comical spectacle of Jongdae dressed head to toe in different costume pieces from your cosplay.

You laughed gently and trudged over to him and give him a quick peck on the cheek. "You look beautiful." You teased before wandering off to your bedroom.

Chanyeol:

You had gotten a package in the mail containing your new cosplay items for your new character and through all the excitement, you had left it out all over the floor of your living room before going to pick up Chanyeol.

Once you had reached home and opened the door, the relocation hit you and scrambled over to try our things in a hurry, trying to pack it all up. But Chanyeol reached over and stopped you from hastily shoving things in bags and boxes and made you stand next to him, a cute smile on his face.

"I," His eyes twinkled in the light before he spoke again, "love this."

Kyungsoo:

He was a very gentle and understanding partner who never objected to any of your hobbies or interests and so you weren't in the least bit scared to tell Kyungsoo of your cosplaying.

He was very interested in your hobby once you had told him, his eyes twinkling with curiosity and his head nodding with each sentence you said. It made your heart leap to know that he was so understanding and willing to listen - he was amazing.

Jongin:

He had found a pair of shoes that was part of one of your costumes under your bed when he had dropped his phone, conviently, next to them. He pulled them out and started to examine them right in front of you.

"They're a bit extravagant, don't you think?" He asked, his eyes dancing with a teasing glint. You snickered and took them off him, putting them away in your closet to avoid anymore embarrassment.

"They are for my cosplay." You admitted and he grinned you with a look of excitement.

Sehun:

You wanted to tell Sehun straight away about your hobby so when it was just you two, you sat him down and explained everything from the costumes to the conventions you attended. He seemed very interested about it and deep down, you wanted to see if you could get him into - a couple activity.

Anyway, as the title suggests, I am recommending some fanfics for popular(ish) ships that I personally really enjoyed! I’m only doing one or two fics per ship (which in hindsight is KILLING me so I’m just putting the first fics I find and am like I really liked that one LOL) because I wanted to do a shorter fic rec list (tho watch this become super long LOL). I also may or may not be procrastinating finishing a couple other long posts, so there’s that hehe. For the (kinda but not really) public consensus for best fics per ship (by kudo count) check out some of my other posts. Also I’m putting some ships I don’t actually read much of (OOPS LOL) so if you think that there’s a fic that fits my type (if I even have a consistent type) better, pls tell me LOL. Otherwise, pls continue heh :)

The Loyalty of a Traitor by DeathBelle (E) 76.9k // ok so does me liking this fic make me basic cause I feel basic LOL. I really love mafia fics, and the way the story line developed was SO good, like IN LOVE with this story. This is a fic where you should read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY before diving in, but if the length scares you, don’t be. It’s so easy to fall in and get lost in the writing!

the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle by kittebasu (chanyeol) (T) 66.3k // again, basic? Probably LOL but it’s good so I have no shame ;) Again, pls don’t let the word count scare you (cause it scared me LOL), you get really into it after like 2 paragraphs, so just make sure you have enough time to finish hehe.

KuroKen:

Thicker Than Blood by kylar (M) 91.4k // are you surprised that there is another mafia one? You really shouldn’t be LOL. Anyway, I’ll just be here pushing my mafia fanfic agenda while you read this monster of a fic hehe :) Definitely read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY because there is some very sensitive topics involved! I also adore the oibokuroo friendship headcannon, so more reasons to read, right?

Liked, Commented and Subscribed by Royal Society of Pandas (Abarcelos) (T) 45.7k // this fic is SO funny omg. I read it and I had to stop so many times just to laugh because I could not stop sometimes LOL. However, there IS angst towards the end, it gets resolved, but it’s still there... But honestly, it just adds such depth and flavor to the fic, so pls read it!

BokuAka:

bang! now we're even by Authoress (M) 11.9k // so I’ll be honest, I don’t read a lot of BokuAka (...oops?) and so I wouldn’t consider myself as the best person to be recommending fics for this ship (in general too LOL).... ANyway, I love myself some good spy AUs (was gonna put that IwaOi spy AU but the LIMIT), and Akaashi in a dress? Like the tags might state, what more do you need? The characters are done beautifully, and the story development is SO good, so I give you all my humble BokuAka rec.

Crisis Converted by valiantarmor (M) 60k // man do I really love fighting in my fics LOL. This was super good and the plot itself kept me really engaged (what a twist omg). It does talk a bit about mental health issues, but it’s done so well, and they really did this AU justice!

DaiSuga:

How to Manage by SuggestiveScribe (E) 39.3k // ok so yea yea we established, I’m basic, BUT can you blame me? This might’ve been one of the first DaiSuga’s I’ve read and I have no regrets. Literally, this fic series is one of my favorites, so OF COURSE I had to add it somewhere :D Honestly, I don’t even think you need to read the first one to understand what’s going on, but I would just cause it has some funny DaiSuga moments too ;) This is explicit for PWP, so proceed with caution~~

Add New Contact by booksong (G) 8.5k // this one! It’s so cute and poor Daichi LOL. He really out here doing the most,,, Anyway, we love tech Suga, and a nice dash of snarky tsukki (LOL is he salt, yes yes he is). It’s very fluff and pine, so if you want to read Daichi having gay panic like 24/7, go right ahead LOL. 

SakuAtsu:

Burden of Blame by DeathBelle (E) 91.2k // ummmm, haha what, another mafia AU? Me, predictable? Noooo, never..... Anyway, this one was so freakin’ good like, love it so much! It’s one of my favorite mafia AU fics, and I love the story line progression. Poor Atsumu being dragged into this mess, but it’s okay because THEY are IN LOVE. Honestly, this fic is Atsumu best boy like he is the best boy. BEST BOY.

Notte Stellata by awkwardedgeworth (T) 20.9k // I ignored all of the other fics I LOVE in this ship (like the pain I’m in rn), but I love this fic with my whole heart. Like I have reread this fic multiple multiple times because I love it so much (tho I might’ve skipped the angst a couple of times cause I didn’t want the pain okay?). I keep coming back, and the second fic in this series is SO funny and cute and I love it here. Please read it, it’s so FREAKING good, angst and ALL.

KyouHaba:

Team Mom by All_My_Characters_Are_Dead (T) 2.7k // so as I was going through this tag (because that’s what I do LOL), I remembered this fic and I love it. Like yes Yahaba is the fear factor and yes Kyoutani is the DAD. I really like the team dynamics in this one, and the first years make me laugh pls.

Camellias by kiyala (T) 1.9k // IK you’re all like, you’re missing such great fics, like no I’m not I just made myself hate myself by limiting fics to two per,,, I love this fic and when I starting looking for this ship, it was the first one I thought of hehe. I really love magic and their interactions are so cute and the PLANTS ARE DOING THE MOST. Pls read both in the series, cause domestic KyouHaba is best KyouHaba ngl LOL. I love the plants, and if you read the second one, someone tell the trees to stop bullying Yahaba.

MatsuHana:

This gets annoying fast, Makki by Ink_stained_quills (G) 2.3k // IM IN LOVE WITH THIS FIC PLS I COULD NOT STOP CRYING TEARS OF LAUGHTER. This AU needs more fics PLEASE. It was SO freakin’ funny and the other teams KILLED ME. Like how they all approached the problem differently and how some of them (KUROO) asked for help LOL. Please this is so freaking funny go read it.

boiled frogs by reginagalaxia (E) 91.5k // I told myself I was gonna put my most angsty fics on another post (which I will for my other favorite MatsuHana angst fic which I love), but this fic. Omg I saw it and I was like I have to. Literally I have to. I hate angst, but read it. It, the, plot, omg, I jjfnsfknalkjdnf ljksan. Like I’m not sure you understand. This fic. asjfjfsadnldjb. I never thought I could hate a character SO MUCH,,,, like SO MUCH. READ TAGS, WARNINGS, AND SUMMARIES because some serious stuff really goes down. Bless Iwa-chan.

Spring Secrets by DeathBelle (T) 3.8k // Seasons might be one of my favorite (as all things also seem to be) series of all times. I don’t like rerecommending fics I’ve already said to read, which is why I’m not yelling at you to go read a certain other fic (which is my life and blood). Anyway, this fic series is all fluff barely angst (maybe that’s why I like it) but it’s so freakin good pls read it all ahhhhhh.
