I’ve been playing with camera effects this Channukah and this one came out a weird mess of deep fried 2000s faux gothic vampire point and click adventure game.

An update!!

For those asking, the woods are (outward going in, symmetrically): cocobolo, bacote, olive, black palm and tulip. The base is black walnut!

Only a final sand and oiling the finish to go :D

So I'm making a channukiah for next year's channukah and the arms are finally done - turned, sanded, oiled up and ready to go

I assume most of you recognise the famous picture on the left of a Channukiah with Nazi flags in the background from the 1930s.

You may not know this but the Channukiah's owners, Rachel and Dr. Akiva Posner, escaped Germany in 1933 & arrived in British Mandate Palestine in 1934. Their Channukiah survived the war, and was donated to the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum.

Every year on Channukah, the Posner family takes the Channukiah and uses it.

Last night, it was lit in the heart of Gaza by one of the descendents of the Posner family as shown in the image on the right.

The channukiah I ordered final arrived but the base was snapped off, I've contacted the company asking for a replacement but like damn, I was looking forward to finally having a pretty channukiah for a change. Next year I guess.
