Chandler Halderson, 23, seemed to have a bright future ahead of him. At such a young age, he had already accomplished tremendous milestones. A recent college graduate in IT, he worked remotely from home for a local insurance company. He was also on the police suba diving team and, even more impressively, recently landed a job at Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX. Suffice to say--Chandler’s parents, Bart and Krista Halderson, were exceptionally proud of their son.
As of June 2021, Chandler was still living at his parents’ home in Windsor, Wisconsin. He planned to move to Florida with his girlfriend soon in order to accept the job at SpaceX, but something hindered that monumental move--a nasty fall down the stairs, in which he sustained a concussion and neck injury which required him to wear a neckbrace. The doctors warned Chandler that he may need brain surgery if his symptoms worsened and discouraged him from long-distance travel until he fully recovered. Due to this, he had to cancel his move to Florida, and tragically lost his position at SpaceX as a result.
But Chandler’s parents began having suspicions. Their son worked long, hard hours at his online insurance company job, yet he never seemed to have money. Chandler always had an excuse as to why he wasnt being paid--once claiming there was a glitch with the payroll software. He showed his father email exchanges with his employer as proof. Chandler was also exchanging emails with his school’s administrators, Alyssa Brandt and Daniel Speith, regarding his diploma and transcripts he was trying to obtain.
Bart’s suspicions only began growing from these emails. He took it upon himself to call Madison College, where his son graduated. Speaking directly with the enrollment coordinator, he identified himself as Chandler Halderson and explained he was trying to request his diploma and transcripts. He told the coordinator he previously exchanged emails with Alyssa Brandt and Daniel Speith regarding the issue. The coordinator did not recognize either of those names. To add to the confusion, he was told that he never graduated and had flunked out of college in the fall of 2020, still owing $2000 in tuition.
After the phone call, Bart told Chandler he set up an appointment with school officials on July 1st to get to the bottom of everything, not telling him what he had just discovered over the phone.
Chandler knew his web of lies were about to be unraveled. Because it was true--he never completed his degree. Nor did he have a job lined up for him at SpaceX. Nor was he a volunteer for the police scuba diving team--such a thing didn’t even exist! Nor did he have an online job with an insurance company--that was just an excuse for him to stay at home playing video games all day. Those email exchanges with school officials and his employers were all fake. And his head injury? Also a sham.
When July 1st rolled around, Bart sent Chandler a text right before the appointment reading, I’m ready when you are. But this would be the last anyone’s ever heard from Bart. Chandler ended up shooting his father. When his mother returned home from work a few hours later, she met the same fate (it is not exactly known how she was killed). He then dismembered his parents’ bodies and attempted to burn their remains in the home fireplace. He then scattered his father’s remains around the property of a farm owned by his girlfriend’s family. He disposed of his mother’s remains in the forest by the Wisconsin River.
Chandler reported his parents missing on July 7th, telling police they went up north to their cabin for the Fourth of July and never returned. Chandler was eventually caught in his lies and arrested for the murder of his parents and was sentenced to life in prison.

in my experience marginalized people with "disgusting fetishes" sharing them online are usually not the ones doing messed up thing irl. the people you should be worrying about are the seemingly well-adjusted "normal" people, because that's usually in this category that you find truly messed up individuals. even people that ARE into actually problematic stuff and talk about it online are RARELY the perpretrators of those actions, they're often victims that are trying to cope with trauma. do you see where i'm getting at? saying that marginalized people should all be eradicated because they seem sick to you because of shit they post online is absolute bullshit. it's like people saying that a very small group of people identifying as animals or trans or whatever is what is causing the downfall of society. it's not. i assure you mentally ill people existing in their own space is not the main issue at hand, no matter how uncomfortable they make you. again, do you truly work with lilith?
Yes, but so many people live double lives and no one will ever know, even the closest people - Chandler Halderson being one example who seemed like a "normal" person but was living a double life and was totally fucked up in the head(but this case wasn't about fetishes, but an extreme one to show that "normal" people are not normal). But, there was another one where a father had a disgusting fetish and kept it a secret and his minor son found evidence of it and the father killed him. Also, there is all known Lota Volkova who on IG is publicly posting child abusing photos and dates people who support this kind of actions. She is disturbed both in private and on social media. She has long put her IG on private after the Balenciaga scandal since she's a part of it. Her friends are not better. 4chan, the website, is full of disgusting fetishists and messed up people in general who talk about it out loud and engage in these actions.
If you think sick fetishes are good coping mechanisms then idk what to tell you to not offend you. All these people need is waaay better help than doing sth thst could have the risk of repeating a cycle, imo.
Okay, let's assume I'm a white person and I identify as black or any other race (and no I would not have relatives other than white one), would that make sense to you? I'm referign to identifying as an animal. Without agrressions, give me a reply. The problem with identifying and why people don't like it is because of them pushing this "you gotta accept this/that whether you like it or not or I'll cancel you/ruin your life; you gotta respect everything!!! about me even if I don't respect you" narritive and people who don't agree push back. People have different pov, it's always been like that. You can't be liked and you needs cannot be met by everyone, it's not possible. So instead of calling everyone who isn't being aggressive or disagrees with your pov a transphobe(which is a fear not hate), just accept that people won't always agree with you. And usually these type of groups work based on fear, because the moment one of their group members will show doubt about the ideology that the group is aggressivelly pushing, the rest will eat them without salt (like feminism and certain things I've seen on tumblr).
Yes, she has helped me in many, many ways. She's a mentor of mine.

I don't think highly of true crime YouTube channels, since they tend to overstate and oversimplify the evidence of the crimes they discuss, and they especially tend to engage in extensive bogus psychoanalysis of the criminal's tone and body language. However, these channels are still often a few tiers above true crime fans more broadly, who are much stupider and promote much worse nonsense.
For example, many true crime fans insist that Chandler Halderson's girlfriend was complicit in the murders he committed, even though in fact the evidence overwhelmingly shows she was innocent. But all the true crime YouTube videos I have seen on this topic consistently, and correctly, emphasize the girlfriend's innocence.

i do think that what moves a lot of... let's say gullible white men (in addition to more obvious societal factors) to become alt-right reactionaries is a desire to prove they're smarter than they actually are. ive been watching a lot of dreading's criminal interrogation videos lately just bc im bored and theyre interesting but i feel like in those videos you see a lot of people like joel guy jr, paul ferguson, nicholas alahverdian, chandler halderson etc who are very obviously just incredibly fucking stupid but are drawn to using big words because they think it makes them sound smarter and i see a lot of that in TBYS too. ftr im guilty of some of the same shit and i do try to sound less. pretentious when i talk because i do realize that it absolutely does make me sound that way and ive been called out for saying shit like this lol i do not believe that i am an intelligent person i do stupid shit all the time but like. throw me a bone here you dont have to be a genius to be able to identify a smelly caca pile when you see it

Chandler Halderson Pt. 2: Lies Till The End
He makes a great point about not being able to sustain negative emotion indefinitely. That it has to be broken with comic relief at some point. This brings the fictional Joker to mind for me. Though in the extreme. That character seems to have formed after being pushed to break and what comes out is ultra-comical psychosis.

Something about the Chandler Halderson case really disturbs me. Probably the fact that he reminds me of some of the worst aspects of myself.
Not that I'd ever come anywhere close to doing what he did (allegedly did? I think the trial is pending/ongoing...), but I can see the ugliness within
