the thing about culers is many of them have a fetish for mediocrity nowadays. barça wins two games straight playing haramball and suddenly they're the best club in the world. say anything bad about xavi and you're not a true culer. they hate the amigos fc narrative yet they're the biggest perpetuaters of it. you can scream your throat raw offering legitimate criticism and they'll insist you're just messi fc and a plastic fan. they don't demand anything from the club anymore
#madrid are a terrorist organization and i hate them with every fiber of my being but culers acting like being top of the league is#more notable an achievement while they're aiming for the ucl is very very embarrassing#i wanted to crawl into a hole when culers on my tl were championing city for beating bayern as if this same bayern didn't spank them#a lot of these criticisms come from a place of love and utter disappointment at what the club has become but coolers think#you're a hater#idk im spent. thought the 18/19 ucl bottlejob had finished me but turns out there's more where that came from

she was the golden girl
uswnt x (romantic) aitana bonmatí x (platonic) fridolina rolfo x uswnt!reader
summary: what happened in a world where reader plays in the 2023 World Cup after winning the 2019 World Cup?
warnings: tiny bit of angst and sadness, google translated spanish.
part two (part one here)
I remembered when I stood on the french pitch, surrounded by the deafening cheers of the crowd, sometimes I can’t believe that it happened. Tears welled up in my eyes as I hugged my best friend Mallory, threatening to spill over as a whirlwind of emotions flooded my mind.
My hands trembled as I clutched the World Cup trophy tightly to my chest, feeling the weight of my team's triumph. The third goal in the world cup was scored by me, the youngest goalscorer in a Women’s World Cup final. The journey to this moment had been grueling, filled with sacrifices, sweat, and endless dedication. But looking back, all the pain and hardship were worth it.
Before the World Cup, the Champions League medal hung proudly around my neck, a testament to the skill and hard work I’ve displayed on the field. At the time, Lyon was the club of my life. I believed that I would’ve never left the french institution, extending my contract as much as I possibly could’ve. The memories of each game, each goal, each victory rushed back to me, overwhelming my senses.
And then there was the Ballon d'Or many months after both competitions, the ultimate recognition of my individual excellence. To be acknowledged as the best, only at the age of 19 years old, was a dream I had hardly dared to entertain. Yet there I was, being the second woman holding the prestigious award in my small hands, my name etched into football history forever as I stood beside Lionel Messi who received the men’s d’or.
Surrounded by my teammates, coaches, and supporters, I felt a surge of gratitude and humility. This moment wasn't just about me; it was about the collective effort of everyone who had believed in my skills along the way. I will never forget it.
Four years later, It's 2023. I am 23 years old and still impressing the fans around the World. However, the scars of my ACL injury were still fresh, a constant reminder of the hurdles I had overcome to be here after the harsh 2022 year.
Playing for Lyon had once been a dream come true. I’ll never forget that experience. When I signed to Lyon from Portland Thorns at the age of 18, I was overwhelmed in joy. I needed that new challenge, and that challenge earned me the best awards, collectively and individually. But, the fallout from my December 2021 injury had left a bitter taste in my mouth. The club I had once called home had felt more like a distant memory as I felt forced to make the difficult decision to part ways and start a new life in the sunny Spanish city.
Now, I wore the red and blue Barcelona jersey onto the pitch. The transfer left me heartbroken, at first, now I felt a renewed sense of purpose. The road to recovery after my ACL injury in France had been long and arduous, filled with doubts and setbacks. Sometimes, I believed that my prime occurred at the age of 19, instead of the predicted 24-30 years old. Yet here I am, defying the odds once again to represent my country on the world stage in two months.
Sometimes the memories of my victories with Lyon and the United States lingered in the back of my mind, serving as both motivation and a reminder of what was at stake. The Champions League trophy I had lifted with Lyon and the World Cup I had claimed with the United States were testaments to my talent and resilience. But now, I lifted the Champions League trophy with Barcelona.
After scoring the second goal of the final, with Patricia before me and Fridolina afterwards, the gold hung beautifully around my neck. It was my fourth time I've felt such a high amount of glory, but the happy tears still came as if it were the first.
A month later, I am on a fourteen hour flight from Los Angeles to Wellington, New Zealand. As The plane soared through the clouds and I sat in my business class seat, my hands gripping the armrests tightly and my heart pounded in my chest.
“Y/n?” I took out my airpods when I heard the faint sound of my name coming from outside of them. I turned to my right and saw my teammate and captain, Lindsey, looking at me with a confusing look.
“Hey.” I joked, pretending like my stress wasn’t visible for everyone to see.
“Are you okay?” Lindsey asked. In my head, I debated on if I wanted to lie and say yes, just so I didn’t have to burden her with my stress. However, she’s known me for many years, the woman would notice my lie from miles away.
“Not really. I’m just–a bit nervous.” I swallowed. The blonde girl nodded her head in understanding as she rested her arm beside mine.
“That's understandable. Is it the competition that's bothering you? I mean– we are defending champions so we have a lot to prove.” Lindsey asked. I took a deep breath as my mind shifted to a particular person from my Barcelona team.
“No– It's about–um.” I stopped speaking. I didn’t want her to cloud my head during the competition, as we both promised ourselves that we would play as rivals, not lovers.
“Aitana?” Lindsey questioned, but yet finished what I would’ve said. I noticed my head as my face was plastered with sadness.
“yeah.” I mumbled. The Lyon midfielder looked at me with a questionable look, wondering if there were problems between the Spanish girl and I.
“I mean– there's no problem between us. However we prioritize football first you know? we both agreed that during the competition, we wouldn’t talk much.. just so we can focus on this.” I ranted. I’m not stressed because of a possible match between Spain and the United States, I know that I’ll miss the shorter woman a lot. Also, what if we stop talking and a third factor might influence our relationship moving forward?
“That's good that you’re prioritizing us– You shouldn’t feel nervous about your relationship because this will give you time to miss each other– things will go back to normal once the world cup is over.” Lindsey patted my shoulder in sympathy, I smirked as my nervousness started to subside.
A month later, as I stepped up to the penalty spot, the weight of the world seemed to rest upon my shoulders. We finished the match against Sweden 0-0 and after extra time, we had to go into a penalty shootout. The stadium roared around me, a cacophony of cheers and chants from both sides echoing in my small ears. Nerves danced in my stomach, threatening to consume me with doubt and mistakes.
With a deep breath, My eyes focused on Zećira Mušović standing between me and the goal. She did great throughout the game and has the reflexes to stop my shot. Determination burned in my eyes, she saw it too.
As I approached the ball with speed, the tension in the air was palpable but I couldn’t care. Every step felt like an eternity as my foot sent the ball soaring towards the goal. Mušović dove in desperation, but my ball went directly to the middle as she dove left. The ball crashed into the back of the net, eliciting a deafening roar from the crowd and from my teammates.
My dimples on my cheeks showed as I am happy to make the penalty. Being substituted on the pitch after halftime, I tried my best to score but my shot on goal was overturned by VAR. Apparently, my body was offside.
Now, my arms wrapped the bodies of Sophia Smith and Megan Raphinoe as I looked ahead at Kelley O’hara. My heart raced as I stared at her white colored cleats. She needed to score this, or else Sweden had the opportunity to win the knockout.
She Missed. My heart dropped to my stomach as I looked at the Swedish players with rising confidence and opportunity. Hurtig took the shot and Alyssa blocked it over the line. This caused a debate among the crowd. Deep down, I knew Sweden made it. They’ve won. However, VAR was the only hope which would have proved me wrong.
Unfortunately, I was right. Sweden emerged victorious in the penalty shootout, their celebration serving as a bitter reminder of the heartbreak that awaited my teammates and I.
No, No, NO! I thought to myself as I felt the moisture in my eyes start to take place. Immediately, my mind did a flashback to the 2019 World Cup Final. Being 19 years old and happy as my small, yet muscular, arms held the heavy World Cup trophy.
With a heavy heart, I broke away from my teammates and looked among the Americans in the stands. My shaky hands clapped to the fans in the stands, my facade of strength crumbling with each step she took. Cameras could capture my weak struggle to stay strong as the Swedish crowd rightfully celebrated.
Turning around, walking back towards the Americans who were on the team, my knees collapsed on the grassy pitch, tears streamed down my tired face. This was the worst that the United States had completed in a World Cup. What went wrong?
I wanted to stand up so badly, but I didn’t. Shame and Defeat took over my body which laid in the grass. What is my family in the crowd thinking? What are the USWNT fans thinking? What are my fans thinking?... my tears cried out more when I wondered what Aitana was thinking.
After ten minutes of darkness in my eyes, covered by my hands. A comforting presence enveloped my body. I recognized the floral smell mixed with a tint of sweat. I looked up from my hands and saw Fridolina, my teammate from Barcelona and now my opponent who won the Round of 16.
“You did so good, Don’t beat yourself up over this!” Fridolina spoke to me first as her thumbs wiped over my teary eyes. I felt comfort but a small amount of envy was inside of me, I wanted to win so badly.
“Congratulations Frido.” The Swedish girl took her hands and helped me stand up as she gave me a tight hug. Aitana, Frido, and I are a trio back in Barcelona. In fact, she helped Aitana and I confess our feelings to each other.
“Thank you! Just know that I am proud of you, she is proud of you too. Even if you aren’t proud of yourself.” The 29 year old said as my eyes stained her yellow covered shoulders. I knew she meant Aitana when she said “she”. However, I didn’t know where the Spanish woman was at the moment and what she was thinking.
“Just go be-beat Japan. Okay?” I said through a crack in my voice. I found solace in the embrace of my friend. I might’ve lost but I am not a bitter person, now I want to see my club teammates have a good World Cup like I’ve once experienced.
As we exchanged jerseys, the voice in my head kept reassuring myself that I'll come back stronger than ever in 2027.
Just a week later, most of my American teammates left Australia and went back home. However, my teammate Kristie and I decided to stay back. Kristies had a girlfriend who played on a different international team like I did, so we wanted to support them as they’re advancing to the semi-finals.
Witnessing my Barcelona teammates play each other in the Spain vs Sweden match was intense. Standing beside Aitana’s parents, I wore a basic dark green t-shirt with 501 mid-thigh levi shorts. This is the first time I've met them as her girlfriend and they’re sweet people. We celebrated Spain’s win against Sweden and my heart would have exploded in happiness. My girlfriend will experience a World Cup final!
On August 20th, after an intense match and a lovely goal from Olga Carmona, Spain won the World Cup! The feeling was bittersweet for me. I am happy for my girlfriend but subconsciously, I knew I wanted it to be me with the United States. However, I brushed that feeling aside since I needed to be happy for my lover.
“Aitana ¡Estoy tan feliz por ti!” We both ran towards each other and hugged. I feel her lightly kiss the side of my head as I inhale her scent. Being able to feel her embrace after a month apart filled the small void in my heart.
“¡Esto es tan irreal, ahora sé cómo te sentiste hace tantos años!” (This is so unreal, now I know how you felt all those years ago!) Aitana smiled. The smile on my face struggled to stay as a small frown, which I tried hard to conceal, plastered on my face for a quick second. I don’t think she noticed.
“Lo siento por lo que ocurrió. En el fondo esperaba que fuéramos nosotros dos quienes nos enfrentaríamos en la final.” (I'm sorry for what happened. Deep down I hoped that it would be the two of us who would face each other in the final.) Aitana said as she understood my defeat in the Round of 16.
“Aquí también. Sólo debes saber que todavía estoy muy feliz por ti, a pesar de mi derrota.” (Here too. Just know that I am still very happy for you, despite my defeat.) I said as I admired the goal medal that sat perfectly on Aitana's chest. She gave me a sympathetic smile before hugging me again.
“¡Te amo!” Aitana whispered into my ear.
“Te quiero más” I smiled back as I relaxed into her arms.

January Hymn - An Emily Sonnett Imagine
So this takes place during 2020 when Sonnett was on loan to Gothenburg and that was a very long time ago so if the timeline is not correct that's the way the cookie crumbles 🤷♀️(also my first time writing in second person if y'all like it I might do more second person stuff)
Also based off the song January Hymn by The Decemberists which I cannot recommend enough their entire discography is *chefs kiss*
About 2k words, pretty angsty, not a happy ending
You had long since accepted that this was as far as your career will take you.
You grew up in Sweden, up north, and moved to Gothenburg when you turned 18. You played soccer all your life and it was obvious to everyone who saw you that you were yards ahead of every other kid you played with. Your parents would drive you hours away from your hometown so you could play on a competitive team in a bigger city, where your talent was matched and developed. You ended up on an academy team and set your sights on going pro.
You are a professional player now. In your teenage years, you imagined yourself in World Cup finals, Champions League finals, you imagined your mantle filled with trophies and medals. You imagine you would leave Sweden. You liked to imagine yourself in Germany, or France, or England, maybe even America, and playing for top clubs around the world. However, none of those dreams really panned out for you.
You moved to Gothenburg and signed your first professional contract. You didn’t notice it at the time, but you were nearing your peak in your play, your development slowing. You love playing here, always have, but you didn’t imagine spending your whole career here. Over the years, you have watched players leave. Young players rise quickly through the ranks and get swooped up by flashy contracts at even flashier clubs. You look back at yourself at 18, 19, 20, and you know you were never as good as they are, never really had a chance at going somewhere else.
You’re not upset. You’re at peace with it all now. Sure, when you first realized that your dreams wouldn’t pan out, you were heartbroken, disappointed, frustrated, but you moved on. You’re happy with your life. You still get to play the sport you love for a living. You recognize now that you would’ve crashed and burned had you gone anywhere else. You love Sweden too much to leave, and the homesickness would’ve been too much. All in all, you’re happy where you are and you don’t regret a thing.
Well, that’s not entirely true.
Players move around all the time. It’s the nature of sports, players choosing to leave for a variety of reasons, teams deciding not to resign players for whatever reason, the team is always changing. You have been a staple in Gothenburg for years, but you’re one of a few. You’re used to having your friends move away and you’re used to only seeing them over Facetime after fighting through time differences. It’s part of your life.
You don’t think much of it when your coach announces a new player will be joining the team on loan from America. It’s not the first American, and it’s not the first loan, and really you’re just happy to see a new face. With Covid restrictions you really only see your teammates and the coaching staff, and you’re looking forward to not having the same conversations over and over. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have an extra player to contribute when you’re pushing for a title.
Emily Sonnett, when you meet her looks like she’s had more of a year than you have. There’s a deep tiredness in her, one that she tries to hide behind her smile. You hear whispers in the locker room, about trades and the team in America she wasn’t playing for. You don’t care. You don’t care what she’s running from in America, you don’t care what her reasons for coming here are. It’s not really your business to care, anyway.
"Hi, Emily, right?" You approach her in the locker room. Her head is trained down at her cleats even though she’s tied them tight already. Her head snaps up when you speak.
“Most people just call me Sonnett. Or Sonny. Whatever you want.”
“Okay Sonnett,” You say, “You enjoying the city so far?”
“Uh, I haven’t really had a chance,” Emily, Sonnett, says, “I don’t really speak Swedish so, I just try not to get lost.”
Most of the team knows some English, some more fluent than others, but they do tend to speak Swedish to each other. You learned English when you were younger, in the hope that you might need it when you moved away. You’re grateful for it now, because Sonnett looks like she needs someone she can speak to.
“I’ve lived here for a long time, let me show you around. Gothenburg is a beautiful city, I would hate for you to not see the city the way I do.”
“Okay,” Sonnett says, “I’d like that.”
You take Sonnett around the city, showing her all your favourite spots, and you love sharing your city and your country with your teammates, but something feels different with Sonnett. She’s hilarious, and you laugh the whole day, and every time you laugh her eyes light up. You asked her, earlier in the day, why she came to Gothenburg, and she gave you a vague answer about COVID and not being able to play in the States over the summer and just wanting to get some games under her belt before the Olympics next year. You understand, in a way, because you’ve never not had soccer, never not been able to play, and you can’t imagine having it taken away without your control.
You have been fairly lucky with injuries, never having anything serious enough to take you out for a long time. You have watched your teammates and friends sidelined for months with injuries, and you feel extremely grateful that you’ve never had to deal with that. You know that Sonnett isn’t unable to play in the States because of injuries, but because of the pandemic that has effected you as well. No one really knows what the pandemic will bring, how the world will be impacted by it, and you’re just happy you get play, that the team has found a way to play safely.
“I know Sweden is not as warm as Florida,” You say when you noticed Sonnett shiver.
“Oh, I wasn’t in Florida, I was in Georgia with my family,” Sonnett says, “I don’t have a place in Florida and I’m not about to couch surf off my friends, so I just stayed with my family.”
“I did not realize your American teams don’t provide housing.”
“They did, they do,” Sonnett says, “There’s no point in getting me a place. They’re not playing in Florida this year, and they won’t keep me next year. I told them I don’t want to stay next year.”
You’re not really sure what to say. The conversations today have been lighthearted, and you’re not sure how to handle the change. You’ve had teammates request transfers before, but the system here is so different than in the States. Here, if you don’t want to stay with a team, you just don’t sign another contract, but it’s different over there.
“I was traded,” Sonnett says when you stay quiet, “From Portland. I’d been there for so long and I really thought they’d keep me, but then they traded me. And I don’t want to play for Orlando. I… I want to go back to Portland, I want my old life back. All my friends were there and I was really happy. It felt shitty that they could just get rid of me like that.”
“I’m sorry,” You say, because what else is there to say?
“I’m not playing in Florida, for the Pride, and I made that clear. I don’t even want to go back to Portland, because it’s obvious I don’t mean anything to them, and all my friends are gone too.”
“I’m sorry.”
“D’you know any good pet shops?” Sonnett says suddenly, “I wanna get my dog Bagel so many Swedish dog toys before I go back.”
Your head reels from the abrupt change in conversation. You get the sense that Sonnett is not someone who likes to have serious conversations, so you don’t push. You don’t have any pets, so you don’t know where the nearest pet shop is, but you use google maps and you laugh as Sonnett makes jokes about each toy and the way she butchers the pronunciations of names.
It feels like the start of something, something you can’t put a name on. You didn’t know it then, but the start sometimes can also be the end.
***
You knew Sonnett’s loan would end. That’s how loans work, there’s also an end date to them. While you knew that, and knew your time was limited, her departure crept up on you. First, you were ecstatic, thrilled, that you won the league. It’s what the team has been working towards, and you get to see all your hard work paid off. Through the celebrations and the champagne, you find Sonnett alone.
“I thought you were the life of the party,” You say, “Or are your stories lies?”
“No, I am usually pretty rowdy,” Sonnett says, “They don’t call me Saucy for nothing.” You chuckle. “I was just thinking how much I’ll miss this.”
You head cocks to the side. Miss this? It’s hits you, the season is over, and Sonnett’s loan is over, and she’ll be going back to the States.
“I’m happy to go home, see my family and friends again, but I’ve really enjoyed it here.”
“Yeah,” You say quietly, feeling choked up suddenly.
The two of you look at each other and you can see the emotion in Sonnett’s eyes, no doubt mirrored in yours. There’s something you want to say, caught on the tip of your tongue, and you’re not even sure yourself what it is, but before you can, someone bumps into you and then you and Sonnett are dragged back into the celebrations.
Sonnett leaves a week later.
You offer to drive her to the airport. It’s an excuse to see her one last time before she leaves and she doesn’t fight you on it. You pick her up from her apartment and she slides into the passengers seat of your car. She looks tired, and you think a little sad, but she hides her emotions so well that you can’t tell if you’re just projecting.
The drive is quiet, the two of you attempting to make conversation, but there’s nothing to say. She’s leaving, and you’re staying, and neither of those facts will change. Her life is in the States, and yours is here, and maybe in another life you would’ve been more talented and more skilled and maybe you would’ve found yourself in the States, on the same team as Sonnett.
You park in the drop off zone and you get out of the car while Sonnett grabs her bags from the back. You take a moment to just look at her, and then you pull her into a hug.
“I’m glad you came here,” You say, “Even if it was short. I… I wish…” There’s so much you want to say. You pull back to look Sonnett in the eyes. As soon as you lock eyes, all the words leave you. What can you say?
She stands there, looking at you, and she’s waiting, she’s waiting for you to say it, and you’re waiting for her to say it, because how can you say anything right before she leaves you? How can she say anything right before she leaves you?
“Goodbye Emily Sonnett,” You say, “Don’t forget about me when you win a gold medal, okay?”
“Never,” She says, “Don’t forget me when you win the Champions League.”
And with that, she’s gone.
You drive back alone.
As you drive, even though you’ve lived in Sweden your whole life, it feels colder than it has ever been.
You go about your life as normal, except with an aching hole in your chest. You go over the drive and the goodbye over and over, wondering. What would you have said? What could you have said that might’ve made her stay? If you said something, if she said something, would it have changed anything?
No, you think, it wouldn’t have, because your lives are thousands of miles apart and nothing will ever change that.
You watch her at the Olympics that summer and you watch her lose in the semis and you watch Sonnett on the field, with her teammates, after the loss, and then in the bronze medal game, when they win. You wish you were there, you wish you could call her, congratulate her. You wonder if she watched your Champions League games. You wonder if she saw you lose and wished she could call you. You wonder if she thinks about you at all.
Maybe in another life, you tell yourself, maybe if things were different. Maybe you should just let it all go, maybe when you stop waiting, she’ll come back to you.

Nobody wants to have a real converation that the 2024 oilers finals run is 3x more impressive than all of the 3 cups the crosby penguins won combined. Even the islanders and rangers making conference finals in the 2020s was more valuable than those cups. The penguins are so fraudulent that they can only beat sub 50 win teams to all their cups and look where they are now. Only 1 of 5 teams with no playoff series wins in the 2020s. You all laugh at the flyers and leafs but at least they won one series this decade in a 32 team league. We should value playoff series wins, cup and conference finals appearances more in the 2020s with 32 teams than the 2010s where there are only 30 teams. Nobody wants to talk about how keeping the core was is a huge mistake in hindsight. If the penguins wanted to keeping winning they should have let malkin crosby and letang all walk in free agency. Who cares about loyalty and their feelings. The flyers traded giroux they can get crosby waive his nmc too for a chance at a 4th cup. That’s how you respect a franchise legend than just spending his final years in a sorry ass team that will be even lucky to win 20 games this year. The oilers bruins nyr and leafs cores will surpass their 19 year “record” anyway with more success. I dont care if you roast me just facts time to switch to another team who cares about making playoffs every year rather be a first round exit for 20 straight years than whatever the most miserable team in the nhl is in. No offense but that’s what the penguins get for robbing more deserving teams of their cups. 16 straight playoff seasons? oh please any team can make it 17 or 18 with 4 cup wins. It’s a joke they won more cups than better regular season teams with more recent playoff success ✌️
ur so right baby real winners lose ✊😔 i would trade all three cups to make it to the final and lose in OT. like real champions.
#also: hiiiiiii baby im so glad you’re back i missed you 🥹🥹🥰🫶#im so happy you keep sending these anons to me. a pens blog. who only posts about the pens.#and about how they’re good#oilers bruins rangers and leafs sure are a. um. selection of teams to use to illustrate your point#but i see your vision and I respect it and im once again asking#are you free on Thursday#should we get together on Thursday?#drinks?

Women's Hockey Roundup: October
Woof, I fell off of these for a while. Blame baseball and college! Anyway, I'm going to just do what happened in women's hockey in October (and maybe the last few days of September) for all leagues. This is only confirmed news and games, so rumors are not included
If you're new, i recap the top stories from around club play women's hockey (so not collegiate) and try to give more detail on european women's hockey, since that's less reported on in north america :-) Feel free to add if i miss anything!
PWHL (USA/Canada)
The PWHL schedule has been released! We have a few TBD's in venues, most likely for playing select games in bigger venues or neutral sites. we do not currently have streaming/television info, so stay tuned for that. There will be a preseason, but not open to the public.
Training Camp Begins November 12, with preseason/mini camps The 19-22. New York's training camp roster is here. Boston's is here. Minnesota's is here. Montreal is here. Ottawa's is here. Toronto's is here.
Nov. 27: Deadline to finalize rosters of 23 players and 3 reserves
Abigail Boreen signed a three year deal with the Montréal Victoire. She played with the Minnesota Frost last year, including in the playoffs, as a reserve player.
Ronja Savolainen signed a three year deal with the Ottawa Charge. She played with Luleä most recently and is a star of the Finnish national team.
Sarah Lefort, most recently with Montréal Victoire, has announced her retirement
The PWHL has begun the process of expansion for 2025-2026, targeting two new cities
SDHL (Sweden)
Fanni Garát-Gasparics signs with Brynäs IF, though is still rehabbing the injury she sustained last year with the Ottawa Charge
Dutch national team legend Savine Wielenga signs with Leksands IF
Rookie Reece Hunt of Luleä is out for the season with a torn knee ligament
Frölunda general manager Kim Martin Hassons is extended to 2028, and head coach Erika Holst is extended to 2026. Frölunda has been massively successful thus far this year, currently in second place in the standings and coming off a big win against firs place Lulëa
While Luleä and Frölunda are at the top of the table, MoDo is making noise in third place, having won six of their last eight.
A couple key story lines: -> Finish National Team forward, Elisa Holopainen (Frölunda) is lighting the league on fire in her first year in the SDHL. She has 9 goals and ten assists in 13 games -> We have a few wonderful comeback stories this year. Hanna Olsson (Frölunda) is back to her old self after missing most of last year with injury, with 16 points in 13 games, good for fourth in the league. Erica Reider, (Luleä) who did not play for two seasons, looks like she never left, currently leading all defenders i the league in points. And Kassidy Sauvé (SDE), who missed almost two full season's with a hip injury, currently leads all goaltenders in save percentage. -> MoDo Hockey is being powered almost entirely by a youth movement: top producers Ebba Hedqvist, Adéla Šapovalivová, Mira Hallin, and Lovisa Engström are all 18 or younger and playing prominent roles on the 3rd place team
Auroraliiga (Finland)
Canadian Emma Hall joins KalPa after playing in the NDHL (Sweden's second division) last year
Kärpät will retire the number 20 in honor of long time legend Saija Tarkki. After 21 seasons with Kärpät as well as the Finnish national team, Tarkki retired in 2019. She will be honored Novembe 23rd.
A Couple key storylines: -> 18 year old Czech forward Barbora Juříčková i having a breakout year with HPK, already surpassing her point total from last season with 22. She joins Emma Ekoluoma (Ilves), who was a star on the U18 Finnish team last year, as one of the young players to keep an eye on in this league -> Kiekko-Espoo sits at the top of the table, with Ilves right behind. Last year's champions HIFK are feeling the loss of several star players and sit in fourth place. -> Sister's Jennika , Joanna and Jatta Ojala all played for the same team together for the first time at the top level for Team Kuortane
SWHL A / Postfinance Women League (Switzerland)
Not technically league play, but since they play in this league too ill put it here: EV Zug won the EWHL Euro Cup, which is played at the beginning of the season including select club teams across europe! They bear the German league's Memmingen to do so. Noemi Neubauerova, who is set to play with the Toronto Sceptres when the PWHL game begins, scored the game winning goal
Sponsor PostFinance announces that in 2025/2026, they will only financially support men's club teams that have a women's counterpart
Nadine Hofstetter of EV Zug is out three weeks with a broken finger. She is one of the team's veteran defenders who also plays for the Swiss national team. Vanessa Ryhner, Nina Harju, and Julia Näf are also out with injury for EV Zug, though Rhyner should be back any day now.
ZSC Lions Fraun is hit with injuries: Slovakian forward Tereza Lahova is out for the year with injury, and Aurela Thalmann and Alena Polenská (aka Alena Mills) are also injured. They are calling up Univ. of Saskatchewan alumni Sophie Lalor
A few storylines: -> Elizabeth Lang (HC Davos Ladies) is leading the league in points in her rookie year and scoring at a goal per game pace. She graduated from University of Calgary last year -> Lara Stalder (EVZ Women's team) continues to do Lara Stalder things and is tied with Lang in goals, but newcomers Michaela Pejzlová (HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls) and Clara Rozier (SC Bern Fraun) who were stars in last year's finnish league are close behind. The top scorer race for this league will be exciting, and that's not to mention old friends like Rahel Enzler and Estelle Duvin, among others. -> HC Davos Ladies is currently at the top of the standings, but EV Zug and SC Bern Frauen are very close behing them -> 18 year old Ivana Wey (EVZ Women's Team) has been off to a blistering hot start, a lot of hype surrounding her after a strong performance at both u18 and senior worlds. Another interesting young player is Lucie Tenenbaum, an American set to play at Minnesota State next year but is spending this year in Switzerland. The 18 year old has 5 goals and two assists with HC Davos Ladies so far
EWHL (Central/East Europe)
EV Bozen Eagles are currently dominating the league, with the help of players such as import Kristin Della Rovere, who has 16 points in 9 games. The Bozen eagles are part of a larger plan to help get italy's women's national team ready for the 2026 olympics
HK PSRZ Bratislava are undefeated thus far this season, after winning last year's title.
Canadian USport alumni are thriving in this league; Cassidy Maplethorpe, Hannah Tait, and Lauren Nicholson among top goal scorers
Slovak Ema Tothova continues to be the young player to watch, after her breakout seeason last year the 17 year old forward has 10 goals in five games. She is also competing in a boy's league in Slovakia while playing in the EWHL
OTHERS
watch this space for Czech forward Adéla Mynaříková to mak the u18 team this year. She's 15 and just steamrolling people in the Czech top league, with 15 goals and 5 assists in 8 games playing against a lot of grown adults
Norweigan forward Une Bjelland Strandborg, who was arguably one of the best NCAA DIII players of all time and graduated last year, is killing it in Germany's league with newly added Austrian team HK Budapest. She has 7 points in 6 games

Next stop... Manchester
a/n: I had to rewrite it but it's okay. Feedback is really appreciated by the way
*Not my PIC*
Pairing: Chloe Kelly x Léon!Reader; Mapi Léon x sister!reader; Ella Toone + Georgia Stanway x Female!Reader (besties)
Summary:
Type: Fluff
Warning: nothing
words count: 3334
--------
London - Manchester. Manchester - London. Whatever the direction, it became a usual trip for you during those recent years. Well, dating a Citizen player while you played for Chelsea, and let's not talk about the fact that you played for Spain and her England, meant you had to make compromises sometimes.
You came to the WSL in the 2017-18 season; you played for Everton after some good seasons at Athletico Madrid. There you met Chloe; everything was new for you, so she helped you install yourself in the country. She showed you a lot of places, and you met a lot of people who'd become part of the England squad. At the end of the 19/20 season, you moved from Liverpool to London, where you signed a contract with the Blues.
At Chelsea, everything was good except when you had to play in the Champions League finals against your sister and her team. Unfortunately for the London club, you got injured in the semifinal. Without one of their best defenders in their squad, the Blues lost against FC Barcelona. Except that the other worst moments was when you played against your girlfriend; you know how good she is, and it's really difficult for anyone to defend against her (except McCabe, but she's not really defending).
After three years in the capital's club, you received some interesting offers from different clubs: Bayern, Wolfsburg, Real Madrid, and even Lyon, but you decided to join another club in blue, well, sky blue. But your girlfriend is totally unaware of that, like almost everyone else, because you wanted to surprise her.
~~~
Today was a particular day; the Lionesses should take a flight to Australia the next day, and your girlfriend decided to spend her free time with you. It was still early in the morning when your phone started buzzing next to you. It was disturbing, but you didn't want to wake up yet until the woman next to you groaned.
"Y/n, I swear if you don't tell whoever texted you to shut up, I'll throw your phone through the window." Chloe said with her head pressed harder against the pillow.
"Calmate hermosa; I'll check that." You said before grabbing your phone to see a lot of messages from more people than you expected.
Maps[yesterday]:
¿Vienes a casa para vacaciones?(Are you coming home for vacation?)
Leila[8:30 a.m]:
The girls know
Ella[8:40 a.m]:
Please tell me you don't join the wrong side
Lauren[8:42 a.m]:
are you really coming?
I need to tell Chloe
Niamh[8:43 a.m]:
Sam and Guro are still pouting
Mama P[8:44 a.m]:
Jessie is still crying you need to do something
Mama M[8:44 a.m]:
Don't forget your sunscreen
Mama P[now]:
Magda reminds you to not forget your sunscreen
"Who are they?" The blonde was a little more awake than earlier.
"Just Magda and Pernille...and Niamh and Mapi." You replied before quickly texting, 'don't tell anything to Chloe; it's not official' to Ella and Lauren.
"Okay, now come back to sleep with me." The winger said, but you reluctantly declined the proposition.
"I really want that, but the girls are coming for lunch and I need to cook something," the Mancunian groaned and grabbed her phone.
"It's only 9 a.m."
"Yeah, I know, but I also have to call my sister and make our breakfast." You informed her and kissed her forehead before leaving the bedroom.
Chloe wanted to go back to sleep, but she couldn't without you, so she just checked her notifications and saw a text from Lauren.
Lauren[8:43 a.m]:
I have a big surprise for you
Chloe [8:57 a.m]:
???
Lauren[now]:
I heard someone say that we will pair together for the world cup
Chloe[now]:
Like always🙄
Your girlfriend knew there was something that her friend didn't tell her, but she didn't want to push her. When the winger finally came to the kitchen, she saw you cook with one of her Manchester City training kits. She approached you carefully, wrapped her arms around your waist, and landed her head on your shoulder.
"How can I help you?" She asked you.
"Just sit and look pretty." You commanded.
A few minutes later, Chole was sitting on the kitchen counter scrolling through TikTok while you were cooking. Everything was good until she found a tik-tok talking about the departure of Ona. It was not surprising at first, but the video caught her attention when the person behind it started to speculate about your possible departure to join Barcelona too. Of course, some fans had theories about you coming back to Spain after a lot of years in England.
You were too focused to not burn your breakfast and texted your sister that you hadn't noticed your girlfriend looking at you suspiciously; honestly, some theories started to gain her attention. She knew that last season you denied the offer of a Spanish team that wanted you, justifying it by the fact that you wanted to finish your contract with the Blues, but now what is keeping you in England?
"Babe? What do you think about going to Barcelona?" The winger asked you.
You took a moment to think about it. "Uh, I don't know; we need to schedule for the next season and wait until you come back from Australia, hopefully with a trophy, and I also need to ask Maps if it's good for her to let us stay in her apartment." You explained, totally unaware of the true meaning behind this simple question.
"Oh, okay." There was a little silence; she continued to scroll on her phone until you finished your episode. You turned your eyes off your phone and made your way to the blonde, leaving some kisses on her face, making the English girl giggle. "What are you doing?"
"I'm hungry." You replied.
"But you're cooking."
"Yes, and I finished it, so let's do something together." You finished your sentence with a trail of kisses from her lips to her neck.
"Babe, the girls are coming in 2 hours." She stopped you.
"I know."
"And you just cook the breakfast."
"I think I can do something in a little more than an hour, so let's have a little time for us." You said lifting her from the chair made her yelp and almost let her phone slip.
"Twenty minutes." She whispered firmly, just a few centimeters away from your lips.
"Twenty minutes." You agreed before leading her to the bedroom.
~~~
Twenty minutes later, you were both in the bathroom taking a bath, and she was sitting in front of you with her back against your chest. You were playing with her hands and the water, trying to steal some kisses between her giggles.
"Did you finish packing your things?" You asked, and she hummed to reply. "Are you sure? Did you pack some tissues? Alana said it was really cold there during this period of the year."
"Yes, don't worry. I checked everything twice." She replied, you wanted to say something, but she cut you off. "No, I'll not unpack everything to let you check." She prevented you.
You sighed and landed your head on her shoulder. "I'm just worried, mi corazon. The last time you flew somewhere without me, you almost forgot your passport." You reminded her, and she chuckled.
"Yes, but don't worry, Lauren will not let it happen again." She joked, and you nodded.
"Okay, I love being here with you, but we will have a lot of hungry girls in one hour, and I need to start to cook." You said getting out of the bathtub.
"How can I help you now?" Chloe asked again.
You thought a moment before replying, "Nothing; just stay there and look good for me." You said and gave her a little on her forehead.
"There is someone who's really looking good right now." She replied with a flirtatious tone.
"Pervert!" You shot just before taking your towel and leaving the room.
~~~
An hour later, you were finishing a paella request by almost every girl while you were making conversation with the citizen until someone rang at the door. When Chloe opened the door, she was met with none less than ten girls chatting loudly. You smiled when you heard the noises coming from the living room. You didn't have time to go to the kitchen before hearing two voices enter the room.
"Y/n!!" Georgia called you very excited.
"Why do you always look surprised to see me, knowing I almost live here?" You asked and accepted her hug.
"I missed you." The midfielder said.
"Me too, pequeña soldadera (little warrior)."
"You still use this Spanish nickname?"
"Always." You said with a cocky smile before walking to the other girl in the room. "Hola, I didn't think you would come." You said to Leila, your national teammates, well, not anymore because you were one of 'The 15'.
"Where do you want me to be? I mean, I'll never say no to free food and cooking by the best Spanish cooker in Manchester, no, in England." The older defender said.
"You say it because Ona came back to Barça?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Maybe." She replied, almost questioning herself; you gasped and playfuly slapped her arm.
"Don't worry, Y/n, you're still my favourite Spanish cooker." Georgia said while the three of you were joining the others in the kitchen.
"You say that because you don't have any Spanish teammates in Munich." You replied, and the girls laughed.
In the living room, there were more guests than you planned. There were Ella Toone, Alessia Russo, Maya Le Tissier, Katie Zelem, and Mary Earps, your Manchester's players friends—well, it was no longer valid for Alessia—and there were Chloe's City's teammates: Alana Kennedy, Lauren Hemp, Alex Greenwood, Laila Ouahabi, Laia Alexandri, and Esme Morgan. And some pluses: Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze were here because they were ex-city players; McKenzie Arnold, who was brought by Alana (you always liked her, so why not); and of course your best friend Georgia Stanway, who brought Leah Williamson to complete their famous trio.
"Now that I see it from here, it's a lot of people." Laila said.
"You even invited some people who don't play for Manchester." Georgia commented, referring to McKenzie and Leah. You and the defender just looked at her before exchanging a confused look.
"A veces me pregunto cómo se hicieron mejores amigos. (Sometimes I'm really wondering how you two became best friends.)" The older woman said to you.
"¿Por qué? técnicamente no es falso. (Why? Technically, it's not false.)" You replied before a body crashed against you. "Wow, calmate Ella." You said laughing a little.
"Please tell me you'll choose the right Manchester." The offensive midfielder whispered to you with a big pout.
"Uh, yes? I mean, yeah, but why do you ask?"
"The girls find an article saying that since Ona made her comeback in Barcelona, you could leave too." Alessia informed you. In the corner of the couch, almost no one noticed, but Chloe tensed when she heard what Alessia said—almost no one because Laia wrapped an arm around the winger to ease her mind.
"Okay, I don't know what you're talking about, but let's eat because it'll get cold." You avoided the question, and that didn't go unnoticed by three players.
After eating in a very good atmosphere, you spent all your time cuddling Chloe and making jokes with Leah and Laila about the fact that you weren't selected for the World Cup. Some girls decided to watch a movie, and you happily agreed. You were in the kitchen making some snacks when you heard someone clearing their throats. Before hearing some footsteps, you turned around to see Ella, Georgia, and Laila exchanging looks.
"Are you alright, girls?" You asked a little confused.
"Y/n, can we talk?" The Red Devil asked a little shyly.
"Yeah, I just need to give this to the girls." You said referring to the plate of snacks in front of you.
"Yes, of course, we will wait." Georgia said you noticed something strange in her tone, but you didn't question it. Only two minutes later, you were back in the room with the three women.
You sat beside Ella in front of Georgia and Laila. "Is there something wrong?" You asked when none of them spoke.
"Y/n, we've known each other for a long time now, don't we?" Ella asked, and you nodded.
You clearly remember the day you met her for the first time and the time you became friends. It was during the season 17/18, you just left Athletico Madrid to try your luck in England at Everton. There you met Chloe for the first time, and it instantly clicked; it was love at first sight. For Tooney, you met her the first time you played against her, when she was playing for the other team in Manchester.
For Georgia, you met her in the street of the city before you saw her again on the pitch, but she was very kind with you, and for someone who had been in a new country for only a few months, you were very grateful. She helped you progress in English, and she even gave you some advice with your girlfriend when she was just your crush.
And for Laila, you met her for the first time while you visited your sister in Spain while she was playing for Barça. When you made your first step on the senior national team, she helped you (with your sister, Jeni, and Alexia, of course) with everything and every question, and you both play as defenders, so you trained together. When she came to Manchester, Mapi made a promise to take care of you, even if it was you who helped her the most when she was still installing.
"Yeah?" You replied, a little unsure of where it would end.
"So can you be honest with us? So about earlier, you know we will not be angry if you leave." Laila reassured you.
"Yeah, I know it's just that everything is complicated, and I don't want to leave Chloe." You said. Talking about her, your girlfriend was about to make her way in the kitchen, but she stopped when she heard her name. She knew it was very bad, but she couldn't help herself.
"Is it Barcelona?" Georgia asked, and you nodded, making the midfielder grumble, "Why do they want you when they already signed Ona?"
"Because we didn't play at the same position." You said. "But they're not the only ones who made offers. There are also Wolfsburg and Paris Saint Germain."
"Why don't you come with me to Bayern?"
"No, if you need to leave, you should come to Manchester City."
"Or you can join me here."
"Okay girls, let's forget about it; they gave me until the end of the month to accept it or not. Now, let's just watch a movie and chill until you have to leave." You stopped their debate. Before you could see her, Chloe quickly came back on the couch beside Lauren, and you sat on her other side.
The rest of the day, your girlfriend seemed preoccupied by something, but she refused to tell you what.
The lunch was very cool; everybody was happy, and the girls didn't split anything. The next day, the girls had to leave, and you had a flight to Spain that you couldn't miss.
~~~
Your holidays were pretty good; you were just enjoying life with your sister, but somewhere you were missing your girlfriend. Because the World Cup was in New Zealand and Australia, you weren't awake at the same time.
On the other side of the world, Chloe was missing you, really missing you. She could handle every time you spent your holiday in Spain with your family, but now it wasn't a holiday for her, and you should be here with your national team. Unfortunately for her, every time she thought she couldn't miss you more, Lauren James, and Niamh were talking about you.
For you, after a week and a half in Spain, you had to fly back to England before going to Australia. You arrived in Australia between two matches of the Lionesses and, more importantly, just two days before the public training.
Knowing you would come to their training session, Lauren Hemp and Ella couldn't stop teasing Chloe about how much she missed you.
At the training, everyone was more focused knowing that it was public. You successfully found a place not so far from the ground as to not be immediately recognized. Chloe nailed it pretty well; she had only one thing on her mind: finish this and quickly come back to the hotel to call you.
When training finished, the citizen stayed behind to talk with fans and take pictures. She was not alone because Georgia and Ella were following her and, most importantly, looking for you. Stopping in front of a group of girls, the three started to do as usual until something caught Georgia's attention.
"Hey, look at that," she said to Ella, holding a Manchester City shirt someone gave her.
"It's the new one." Ella commented, and the Red Devil turned the shirt to find a big surprise. The two midfielders exchanged a confused look before looking at the crowd and finally seeing you.
"No way," Georgia whispered.
"It's a betrayal." You saw Ella mouthing Being too focused on you, they didn't see their teammates coming until the shirt slipped out of the Bayern player's hand.
"Where did you find that?" Chloe asked, but she didn't wait for answers before starting to sign it. It was just after she finished that she decided to look at the back. She paused for a moment. She thought it was a mistake or just a joke until she heard someone speak.
"I hope you like my surprise." You said this after you noticed she was too stunned to speak. Hearing your voice brought the winger back to reality; she looked at you, more surprised and happy than she ever was.
She didn't wait too long before she trapped you in a bone-crushing hug. You stayed like this for a few seconds until she pulled away, immediately closing the gap between you with a lovely kiss.
"I missed you too, mi corazon." You said after you pulled away when oxygen was needed.
"But what are you doing here, and most importantly, what is this?" She asked and showed you the shirt she just signed.
"Let's just say that I have a new team, and I wanted to announce it to you before you see it on the internet." You replied.
"So it's not a joke? We'll really play together next season?" She asked like it was the most unthinkable thing in the world.
"Yes, we will." You confirmed.
"But, Barcelona, and your sister?"
"Well, yeah, I'm really impatient to play with my sister again, but I think it can wait a little longer. And technically, I'm more related to Athletico Madrid than Barça."
"I don't know what to say. It's incredible; I would never believe that this day would come." She cupped your face and pressed her lips against yours just before being interrupted by her teammate.
"Traitor!" Ella yelled, making you laugh.
"Don't worry, I have another one for you." You said before throwing a shirt at her. She made a fake disgusting face, making you laugh again.
"I only keep it because you're my best friend." The United's players informed you.
"Yeah, yeah, but don't forget you also played for them."
"Sorry, I can't hear you." She said with her hands pressing against her ears.
"Okay, now I think you need to go, but don't worry, I'll come stay there to hopefully see you lift the trophy." You said to your girlfriend before giving her a last peck on the lips.
"I already miss you." The blonde striker said.
"I know; now go and win this for us."
"I promise."

On the terrace
Summary: you were just chillin' on your hotel's terrace when you saw Gavi on the opposite teracce.
You can find the next part here.
(Sorry for my English, it's not my first language)
It was Champions League final tomorrow and you and your dance company were asked to preform at the opening ceremony. You were happy that Barcelona is playing in the final. After all you were a culer. You could preform and watch the FC Barcelona's match. Your dream came true.
Now you were sitting on your hotel's room terrace in your Gavi jersey, studying a bit for your verbal matriculation examination with your headphones on your head. You weren't listening to music but it muffled the noise outside. Meanwhile Gavi was come out of his hotel room and looked at the view but he saw something or I could say somebody else. It was you. Your face illuminated by the sunset, it was just perfect in his eyes so he decided to stare at you a little bit.
You final done with studying after an hour so you decided to continue to write your love letter for Gavi which you were writing since you were 17. You were 18 now and he was 19. Perfection. You couldn't deny the fact that you had a huge crush on him. He is cute, handsome, those beautiful eyes and his perfect smile. He was perfect in your eyes. A lot people said to you that you only like Barca beacuse of Gavi but no. You've loved it for a long time. Your favorite trio was the MSN (Messi, Suárez, Neymar). It broke your heart when it was over. You didn't plan to give Gavi the letter after the match, but you were thinking of it now. Maybe it is your only chance but it could be so creepy for him. A random fangirl gives him a love letter. A bit weird.
While you were thinking of it, you looked up a bit from your paper to see the view but you saw somebody else. You thought that you were crazy. It was impossible. Pablo Gavi was standing in front of you on the opposite terrace and he was looking at you. Exactly at you. You saw his eyes perfectly, because the street was narrow and the buildings were close to each other. Your were shocked and it was very visible on your face. He waved at you. You smiled and waved him back.
- I though you'd never look up from your books. - he shouted a bit so you could hear him.
- I'm sorry, I was focused on studying. - you shouted back. - Wait, what? What do you mean? You were watching me? - you asked with more shock on your face.
- For an hour now. But i don't mind if i can staring at beautiful girl like you in the sunset. - he answered with a smile on his face. That goddamn smile. You thought you're gonna faint. Not just because of his smile, because of his answer too. He said you are beautiful. Pablo Gavi said that you are beautiful. -Do you mind if I go to your place? - he asked what? You weren't ready for these questions but you would be the biggest idiot to reject this offer.
- Yeah sure. Why not? - you said and he was already on his way to your room. Pablo Gavi was on his way to your hotel room. You couldn't even process these actions and before you knew it he was knock on your door. You quickly run to the door and opened it. There was he. The man of your life. He was standing in front of you. You looked into his beautiful eyes and you felt like you were in heaven.
- Can I come in? - he asked because you were just standing there looking into his eyes.
- Yeah, sure. - you blushed. He came into your room and he went to the terrace and sat in a chair. You followed him and did the same then you realized that the letter was almost right in front of his eyes so you quickly covered it by putting a book on it. You had to turn back by doing this so he perfectly saw the back of your jersey. The number 6 and his name.
- I like the back of your jersey, preciosa. -he winked at you.
- Did you just call me preciosa? - you extremly blushed. He saw the back of your jersey and called you preciosa. What the hell is going on?
- Yeah, but if it makes you uncomfortable then I'll stop. - he rubbed the back of his neck.
-No no no, it doesn't make me uncomfortable. It was just unexpected. - you laughed a bit nervously. After all, Gavi called you preciosa.
- So what brings such a beautiful girl here? - he asked you looking into your eyes. You could tell that he was really curious. He knew that you were in a hotel now, so you didn't live here.
- Well, I don't think you'll believe it, but our dance company got a request to preform at the opening ceremony of the Champions League final. That's why I'm here. - you told him and now you were curious about his reaction.
- So you're not just beautiful but a dancer as well. Tell me more about your little secrets. - you giggled a bit by his reaction.
- I don't have secrets.
- Oh yes you have. Such as your name, your number or you Instagram account. Anything that keeps me in touch with you. - it was so clear what he wanted but you didn't want to believe it.
- Well, i could give them. My name is Y/N L/N and I'm from (you're country). But for my number and insta I need your phone. - you smiled at him he gave his phone to you and you wrote your number in it and search for you Instagram account. You had a few ten thousands followers. After all you were a dancer. You were a bit famous. You gave him his phone back an he immediately stalked a your insta a bit.
- Wow, you are a really succesful dancer as I see. -he scrolled down your account. Your face now was clearly red. - I'm really looking forward to see you dance tomorrow. - he looked up at you. - I'm so happy that you support Barca. This is the best case scenario ever. - you smiled at him. - But now unfortunately I have to go back to my hotel room. Pedri is gonna kill me if he can't find me there. -he stood up. Before he could go to the door you grab his wrist and you don't even know why.
- Gavi wait! - you stood up too.
- What is it? - you couldn't answer. You really didn't know why did you stopped him. You guess you really didn't want him to go.
- Well maybe it's a bit embarrasing but... if i have a chance finally I'm gonna ask. - you took a deep breath. - Can I get a hug? - you looked to your side and blushed. He didn't even answered, just hugged you. You hugged him back. You felt so safe and calm in his arms. You felt like you were in heaven.
-It's the least I can do. But now I really have to go. - he pointed to the door.
- Yeah, sure. Go back before Pedri finds out you disappeared. - you both laughed and he went to the door and walked out of the room.
- See you tomorrow, hermosa bailarina! - he winked at you and closed the door. You could scream because of the excitement but insted of screaming you opened the groupchat with your teammates in it and told them everything. You were really looking forward for tomorrow now.

League of Legends Lore Ask Game!
It's finally here! If you reblog this post I'll send you a few myself to get things started :D There's 35 questions, so I'll put every question after these first few under the cut. General Lore
1- What's your favourite champion biography? 2- Favourite non-biography short story? 3- Favourite skinline/alternate universe story? 4- If you had the chance to rewrite any character, who would you choose? What would you change? 5- Your opinion on the lore of a character the asker chooses? (If the asker doesn't specify, just pick at random!)
6- What's your favourite lore fun fact? (ie a champion's favourite food, something small like that) 7- What character(s) do you think are underrated and/or underappreciated? Tell us about them and their lore! 8- Favourite canon relationship? (Romantic, platonic, familial, enemies, anything goes.) 9- What's your favourite region, and why? 10- What's your favourite character from a region of the asker's choosing? Why?
Headcanons/Fanworks
11- Give us a headcanon of your favourite character! 12- Any queer headcanons? Tell us! 13- What's your favourite non-canon relationship? (Again, anything goes; (queer)platonic, romantic, etc.) 14- Any headcanons about your favourite region? Cultural, political, etc; anything that comes to mind! 15- What's your favourite League-related fanfiction? If you can't pick, feel free to answer with multiple! 16- Favourite rarepair? As with the previous relationship questions, this doesn't have to be interpreted romantically. 17- Do you have any canon-compliant headcanons? Share them! 18- Alternatively, any non canon-compliant headcanons? 19- You get to retcon one piece of currently canon lore and replace it with a headcanon of yours. What do you pick? Why? 20- If you got to add voicelines to a character of your choosing, what voicelines would you add?
Character Design/Worldbuilding
21- What character do you think has the most fitting visuals for their lore/personality? Why? 22- What character do you think has the least fitting visuals for their lore/personality? Why? 23- What character's abilities (either in League or LoR, if applicable) fit their lore the most? 24- What character has the most fitting voice/voice delivery for their character? Alternatively, for non-speaking characters, best sound design? 25- What region do you think has the best worldbuilding?
Skinline/AU
26- What skinline/AU has the best lore, in your opinion? Why? 27- If you were to make another band in the Riot Records universe, what characters would you pick and what genre of music would they make? 28- If you were to add a character to an AU/skinline, what and who would you pick? What would their role be? 29- You get to make your own skinline. What kind of lore would it have, and who are you giving the skin(s) to? 30- Crossover time! You get to make a crossover skinline with a non-League media of your choosing. What media are you picking, and what characters from both medias would be in it?
Just For Fun
31- Hug, marry, kill with three characters of the asker's choosing. "Marry" can be taken platonically. 32- You have to be roommates with a champion of your choosing for one year minimum. They're not allowed to physically hurt you or kill you, but they'll act the exact same otherwise. Who are you picking? Why? 33- Any song(s) you associate with a particular character? 34- Any characters you associate with someone? ie a mutual, specific artist, irl person... anything like that. 35- You're stuck in an elevator for an hour with a character of the asker's choosing. No phones/other distractions. How are both of you doing?
#hallow's original posts#league of legends#legends of runeterra#ask game#feel free to send me asks too! i'll send some questions back#fyi i use 'character' and 'champion' interchangeably here#feel free to pick non-champion characters even if it says champ

Penguins to retire Jaromir Jagr’s No. 68 during pre-game ceremony on Feb. 18
By Pittsburgh Penguins
November 10, 2023
The Pittsburgh Penguins will raise two-time Stanley Cup Champion Jaromir Jagr’s no. 68 jersey to the rafters at PPG Paints Arena on February 18 versus the Los Angeles Kings as part of a pre-game celebration, it was announced today by the club.
As part of the ‘Celebrate 68’ festivities, all fans in attendance that night will receive a replica Jagr No. 68 banner. In addition, a commemorative Jagr bobblehead has been added as a giveaway to all fans in attendance on Thursday, March 14 versus the San Jose Sharks.
Jagr, whose NHL career spanned over two decades, is one of the most accomplished players in NHL history and a member of the league’s ‘100 Greatest Players.’ In 1,733 career regular-season games, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound winger scored 766 goals, 1,155 assists and 1,921 points. He ranks fourth all-time in games played and goals, fifth in assists, and only Wayne Gretzky (2,857) has recorded more points than him. No player in NHL history has more game-winning goals than Jagr’s 135.
Drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round (5th overall) of the 1990 NHL Draft, Jagr spent the first 11 seasons of his 24-year NHL career with the Penguins, appearing in 806 regular-season games notching 439 goals, 640 assists, 1,079 points, 78 game-winning goals and was plus-208. He is in the top-5 in franchise history in games played (5th), goals (4th), assists (4th), points (4th), plus/minus (2nd) and game-winning goals (4th). He was one of 13 captains in team history, serving in the role from 1998-01.
Jagr was an instrumental piece of Pittsburgh’s back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 and ’92 – his first two seasons in the NHL. In that two-year span, Jagr suited up for 45 postseason contests, notching 37 points (14G-23A), which was sixth in the NHL over that stretch. Jagr shined during the 1992 Stanley Cup playoffs, recording a playoff career-high 24 points (11G-13A) in 21 games. In total, Jagr has dressed in 208 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, accumulating 201 points (78G-123A). He is one of just six players in NHL history with 200 or more playoff points.
The 10-time NHL All-Star has won a plethora of awards over the course of his NHL career. He is a five-time Art Ross Trophy winner (NHL Scoring Leader – 1995, ’98, ’99, ‘00, ’01), three-time Ted Lindsay Award winner (Most Outstanding Player – 1999, ’00, ’06), and was the recipient of the Hart Trophy (NHL MVP) in 1998-99 and Bill Masterton Trophy (Perseverance, Sportsmanship, and Dedication to Ice Hockey) in 2015-16. Jagr was named to the NHL’s First All-Star Team seven times (1995, ’96, ’98, ’99, ’00, ’01, ’06), the Second All-Star Team in 1996-97 and was a member of the All-Rookie Team in 1990-91.
Throughout NHL history, only Chris Chelios (26), Gordie Howe (26) and Mark Messier (25) have played more seasons in the NHL than Jagr’s 24. Of his 24 seasons, he notched 20-plus goals 19 times and 30-plus goals 15 times, which both rank third in league history. He’s also hit the 100-point plateau five times, and was the sixth-oldest player in NHL history to accomplish that feat during the 2005-06 season at 34 years and 31 days old.
The native of Kladno, Czechia has multiple accolades on the international stage. He’s won a gold medal (1998) and bronze medal (2006) at the Olympic Games, two gold medals (2005, ’10) and two bronze medals (1990, 2011) at the IIHF World Championship and a bronze medal at the 1990 IIHF World Junior Championship. Jagr is one of just 30 players in history to join the Triple Gold Club, which includes winning a Stanley Cup, an Olympic gold medal and an IIHF World Championship gold medal. He and Jiri Slegr are the only two players of Czech descent to accomplish this feat.
Jagr currently owns Rytiri Kladno of the Czech Extraliga and has been majority owner of the team since 2011-12.

The San Francisco 49ers (also written as the San Francisco Forty-Niners and nicknamed the Niners)[7] are a professional American football team based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The 49ers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The team plays its home games at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, located 38 miles (61 km) southeast of San Francisco. The team is named after the prospectors who arrived in Northern California in the 1849 Gold Rush.[8]
The team was founded in 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and joined the NFL in 1949 when the leagues merged.[9][10][11] The 49ers were the first major league professional sports franchise based in San Francisco. They are the 10th oldest franchise in the NFL, and have been family owned and operated exclusively by Italian Americans (Morabito and DeBartolo families, respectively) since the team's inception.[12][13] The team began play at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco before moving to Candlestick Park in 1971 and then to Levi's Stadium in 2014. Since 1988, the 49ers have been headquartered in Santa Clara.
The 49ers won five Super Bowl championships between 1981 and 1994. Four of those came in the 1980s, and were led by Hall of Famers Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, Charles Haley, Fred Dean, and coaches Bill Walsh and George Seifert.[14] They have been division champions 22 times between 1970 and 2023, making them one of the most successful teams in NFL history.[15][16] The 49ers sit alone in NFL history for most playoff wins (38), having been in the league playoffs 30 times (29 times in the NFL and one time in the AAFC), and have also played in the most NFC Championship games (19), hosting 11 of them, also an NFC record. The team has set numerous notable NFL records, including most consecutive away games won (18), most points scored in a single postseason (131), most consecutive seasons leading the league in scoring (4), most consecutive games scored (420 games from 1977 to 2004),[17] most field goals in a season (44), most games won in a season (18), and most touchdowns (8) and points scored (55) in a Super Bowl.[18]
According to Forbes, the 49ers are the sixth most-valuable team in the NFL, valued at $5.2 billion in August 2022.[19] In 2020, they were ranked the 12th most valuable sports team in the world, behind the Los Angeles Rams and above the Chicago Bears.[20] In June 2023, the enterprise branch of the 49ers completed the acquisition of English soccer club Leeds United.[21]
