If the anime decides to use ch.31 as the climax, pray I'll have looked at it so much that I'll be 5% indifferent to it because it was the most emotional I've been reading a manga in forever, and seeing it animated will be too much.

So we have the backstory behind Lis being born a Cursed One. He was born from a union of inconsolable grief. Ellroy knew he was at the end of his life and chose to use the final ounces of strength he had to protect the both of them, but to them he made the decision to leave them behind. Rudolf promised he would give his all to live, but he was clearly unable to heal enough to find that new grip on life. He couldn't sing "Green Eyes" after that, he could never love Elisa the same way, so he lost the blessings he had.

On the bright side, Lis' magic is a mix of green magic and singing. He's like if Rudolf and Ellroy had a kid themselves.

This week's ChampMajo chapter segment ends with Rudolf asking Ellroy what this whole "love poison" is and what its effects are before the castle comes under attack. The cliffhanger is even worse than the last one, and I have a gut-wretching feeling he's going to find out in a very horrific way. He's incapacitated due to absorbing too much magic at once, so he's unable to defend himself. That leaves Ellroy to do it, but because he's receiving double the damage by being in love and having his magic taken, he's not going to be that effective against intruders.

This might be when Ellroy died.
