This is a newcomer to their range, a Blanc de Blancs. The name of the champagne says it all about its origin. On the nose we find a floral side, notes of citrus and hazelnut. In the mouth we have this beautiful freshness. The bubbles wake up the palate with citrus notes. A perfect aperitif champagne to accompany with seafood for example. 🍾 🍾 Je vous ai déjà présenté souvent les champagne Devaux. Voilà un nouveau venu dans leur gamme en Blanc de Blancs. Le nom du champagne dit tout sur son origine. Au nez on retrouve un coté floral, des notes d'agrumes et de noisette. En bouche on a cette belle fraîcheur. Les bulles réveillent le palais sur des notes d'agrumes. On Saturday 24th June, winners of the inaugural Jersey Style Awards in association with Chopard were revealed at a glittering red carpet gala on the Channel Island. A high profile list of honourees included Dame Shirley Bassey who was inducted into the Style Hall of Fame. The celebrities arrived on the island from London by private jet for the prestigious ceremony.

The event’s theme was to celebrate and honour the island’s wealth of culinary, art, retail, leisure, style and heritage organisations from the people who shape its character, personality and individuality as one of the best kept secrets in the British Isles. It was a particularly memorable occasion for The Bassey Blog’s dear friend and regular commenter Dennis Welch, whose struggle to get a ticket caught the attention of the local media.

Thankfully a kind-hearted Islander read about his plight and stepped in with a last minute ticket. Speaking to the media at the event, Mr Welch said: “I absolutely love him for what he has done – it means the whole world to me. 24 hours ago I had given up hope, and tonight she sat right near me and I was talking to her.”

The man in the first picture is John Ovenden, who saw my story in the Jersey Evening Post. He had two VIP tickets for him and his wife Tracey, but she let me have her ticket saying I would enjoy the evening more as I was the island of Jersey’s biggest fan of Dame Shirley Bassey. My gratitude is forever, John took these photos as he is a professional photographer of sea life, dolphins on the island of Jersey and much more.”

On the nose already this champagne is elegant, spicy and floral. On the palate we find a coherence totally in agreement with the nose more notes of citrus fruits. The bubbles dance on your palate with light feet. It is a dinner champagne, fresh it will go on fine oysters, then it will call a crayfish and being warmed along the meal it will come to rest on a cheese. What else ? 🍾 🍾 Il y a presque un mois je débutais ma série des fêtes avec un champagne rosé Devaux, montons un cran au-dessus. Au nez déjà ce champagne est élégant, épicé et floral. En bouche on retrouve une cohérence totalement en accord avec le nez plus des notes d'agrumes. Les bulles dansent sur votre palais avec des pieds légers. C'est un champagne de repas, frais il ira sur des huîtres fines, ensuite il appellera une langouste et s'étant réchauffer le long du repas il viendra s'échoir sur un fromage. It's November 15th, the date I chose to start the holiday season. As every year champagne will be in the spotlight. I present the champagne house Devaux with this rosé champagne composed of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. Some of the pinot noir is vinified in red wine, another part in bleeding rosé and most of it in the traditional way. This gives a champagne with a beautiful color and a certain power in complexity. This real success will be very good with food. During the holidays, do not hesitate to associate the very good with the very beautiful, look my sword Claude Dozorme @claudedozorme and my glasses Zalto @zaltify 🍾 🍾 Nous sommes le 15 novembre, c'est la date que j'ai choisi pour débuter la saison des fêtes. Comme chaque année le champagne sera à l'honneur. Je vous présente la maison de champagne Devaux avec ce champagne rosé composé à 80 % de pinot noir et 20 % de Chardonnay. Une partie du pinot noir est vinifié en vin rouge, une autre partie en rosé de saignée et la plus grande partie de manière traditionnelle. Cela donne un champagne avec une couleur magnifique et une certaine puissance en complexité. Une vraie réussite et qui se tiendra très bien à table et en apéritif dînatoire.
