The 1st choice always influences the 2nd, but also the 3rd and the 5th

Propaganda time because Stray Gods is rad as hell and I couldn’t put everything I wanted to say on the submission form.

The main selling point of Stray Gods is the music. Musical numbers happen in-universe and the choices you make have a tangible effect on both the song and characters. There are multiple decision points in each song letting you choose between one of three paths to take, giving a ton of variation per song.

There are four different OSTs that highlight the different choices you can make. The red, blue, and green editions show what songs sound like when sticking to a consistent tone throughout. The Pantheon edition mixes choices in way that is both similar to how a real person might play and avoids too much overlap with the other main versions. The main composer for the game, Austin Wintory, made a video explaining how the different versions compare and contrast along with some extra behind the scenes tidbits.

I just love how instead of just having plug and play verses, songs in Stray Gods went the extra mile to make sure things flowed in to each other in such a way that you can believe each version is a definitive one. With 17 different endings and multiple ways to get there, there’s boundless potential in this song. (I’m not adding the video that shows off all the endings. It’s over an hour and I feel like I’m pushing my luck.)
