While the Archheart's plan seems completely in character for a chaotic god who just wants out of their current situation (kudos to Abubakar), it's also an absolutely terrible idea. Let's say the absolutely best case scenario is going to happen. In that best case:

Imogen and/or Fearne can control Predathos enough that they're not completely erased (this would be the least important part in the grand scheme of things.)

When Predathos is syphoned from the moon it only takes the energy and doesn't cause the moon to crack/explode/implode, causing it to rain chunks of moon down on Exandria.

All the gods actually leave. This is not a certainty as per Taliesin the Wildmother has invested so much of herself in the world that she likely can't leave. I would imagine that that means that the Lawbearer is sticking around as well. Not to mention what would happen to the Chained Oblivion, it's not the same as the other gods, and as far as I know it only showed up sometime during the schism. (Is it even prey for Predathos? Is it of the same species? Would there be a Chained Oblivion Predathos Kaiju battle, with Exandria as the battleground? Who knows?)

On the way out the lower and higher planes get locked down so there is no extraplanar invasion. (The biggest worry would be demons/devils but I can imagine planetars etc. can make a problem of themselves if they see a good cause)

On the way out Predathos doesn't decide to snack on lesser divine beings/things (Uk'otoa, parts of the Luxon, etc) leaving its mutating properties behind. (see the Savalir wood)

The bloody bridge gets dissolved and doesn't tear Exandria's magic apart.

Now, in the absolute best case scenario, none of the above is going to be a problem. Regardless, what is going to be a problem:

Divine magic is going to be weakened at the least. The number of divine healers is going to tank, and while there are lesser beings that can grant divine magic, and it is possible, but difficult, to wield it without any (see Calamity). That's going to take a while to sort out, and in the meantime there's going to be a lot less healing.

A lot of things that got out during the Solstice are still out, like the Phoenix thing that is similar to Uk'otoa (which is probably out again as well) and they are a lot more difficult to seal without divine aid.

There is also still a significant invasion force of Ruidians that are going to be a problem, not to mention the Ruby Vanguard

With the gods gone, a lot of semi-divine powers, whether good or bad, are going to be empowered through new followers and/or warlock pacts, without anyone to keep them in line (again, see Artagan or Uk'otoa)

Vasselheim, the oldest city in the world, is going to have massive issues of at least morale, and is likely not going to be in a state to do anything outside of its own borders.

Other political entities are also going to be looking inwards, consolidating their own resources, and shedding their pereferies. I'd say that, for example, the Dwendalian Empire is likely going to shrink. Countries that are less effected by the loss of the gods, may very well go to war. Places that have been protected by the gods are going to lose that protection, Niirdal-Poc and the other cities which were protected by the Wildmother are probaly going to be run over by the Iron Authority.

Outside of actual war, demagogues, warlords, cult leaders, etc. are going to spring up in the chaos, with various degrees of violence.

And finally there is the biggest problem, wizards. Since long before the Calamity the holy grail of magic was ascension to godhood, and now the thrones are empty. A whole bunch of wizards are going to try for them, and in the best case scenario they fail and only take a chunk of empty countryside with them. In the worst case they succeed, seeing that wizards who's ambition is godhood absolutely should not have it. And now there is no divine gate or other deities to curtail them. So there'll soon be a new, worse pantheon.

So the Archheart is right, there will be a new balance, but as that usually goes, the new balance is going to be built on a pile of corpses, and is likely going to be worse than the previous one.

Lord forbid he found out that you aren’t, he’d spend all his magic fixing your ailments to whatever degree of success before striking down whatever dared try and harm you.

oooooh a challenge because I am SUCH a hurt/comfort and 'they deserve nice things' trope sort of creature. (Stiles coming back and finding Derek got BIG - my everything and I love it) SO - just the dark part, a much more difficult story... even if the comfort maybe comes later ;) BUT The "Character is forced to gain weight to save someone" idea. Which fits very well with Derek or the Sheriff or even Chris trying to save Allison... Struggling to push food into their mouths even when they're so, so full they don't think they can. Too full that the idea of swallowing that last mouthful almost makes them sick. Reaching under their weight gain and having to BEG someone help them. Tells them no matter what it takes - keep filling them up. Forcing slop into them, whatever they have to do. Helplessness is a GREAT trope with Stiles just because - human! And probably self-induced. Like he starts gaining, realizes he's maybe overdone it, but his dick is still *very* into it. Gets to the size where people are 'worried about him'. Where furniture starts to become an issue, when Stiles in starting to get winded and out of breath on stairs. So while he keeps saying he's going to lose weight. Or trying to push Derek away when he's tempting Stiles with more. But...Derek is persuasive and Stiles is horny - and when Derek gifts Stiles a mobility scooter, it should be a red flag immobility is in his future. But saying no to Derek or food isn't an easy option for Stiles. And then force-feeding? Begs for it to be Derek. For someone to test and see how far werewolves can heal. Stomach bursting and rehealing and stretching immediately so Derek can keep eating through the pain. Stomach looks like it's about to split with stretchmarks before those heal over. Derek somewhere in a basement - chained up until his captors enjoy taunting him that "he's free to go" but Derek has so, so many dozens of pounds of food and shakes and wolfsbane filling him, his gut is swollen and bloated past his knees and even if he could get up - he's not getting through any doorway. Maybe a little cliche - character being with a mindset of a barn animal. Maybe Derek who starts letting out long, low belches that start sounding like Moos. Spends all day crazing on junk food, his belly and moobs growing and swelling and hanging lower and lower to the ground. Or pig!Stiles who Other cliche of - extreme sudden weight gain. Showing up a fairies feast, the middle of the woods at night suddenly bright and sunny and the table of food so, so welcoming... and then suddenly the food vanishes after a long night of eating, and the pack of wolves are left stranded in the woods as they start to expand, getting rapidly fatter. clothes getting painfully constricting until the seams burst under the waves of blubber... Eventually ends with helpless piles of fat rolls who are going to need a forklift to get them home...

Food dumpster- a personal favorite even if it makes 0 logical sense. But works for so many AUs. Restaurant with chef!Stiles. A brewery! A grocery store! fat!Stiles at a fast food restaurant with rich! customer!Derek who always complains to watch Stiles struggle to eat his insanely sized order... Derek desperate for a job so he takes the first thing he finds. At first - he's merely cleaning up around the restaurant and at the end of the night is given some leftovers to take home. But eventually he's given the job to eat all the leftovers or mistakes during the day. Can't be wasteful! Ooops all these wines weren't sealed right at the end of the night - better drink up! Derek ends every night with a sloshing gut, or being sprawled on the kitchen floor, to full to get up. And when he tries to quit? He's shown to his trough in the basement... he can't quit, there are leftovers to eat!

This isn't a full dark idea more of a "dark moment" but a character being so, so aching full, sure they can't fit anymore more...only to have their feeder roughly slap their gut, to hear the dull groan of pain and gas, tells them until their gut is taut and sounds like a drum - they can fit more food. Open up - here comes the funnel.

The Queen’s Mercy Breakdown Analysis / Predictions

Bloodline that Binds card from out-of-context S5 spoilers is definitely about Karim and Janai being the two heirs that can presumably free Kim’Dael from her chain(s). I think that Karim will barter / hire Kim’Dael to assassinate his sister (or, if she cannot harm descendants of Aditi at all, Amaya) under the deal of freeing her afterwards. Therefore, I have a feeling that this screencap

is Amaya, Callum, and most importantly, Rayla, encountering Kim’Dael in her initial attack

(Also, given that we’ve had a short story entitled “The Queen’s Soul” for Khessa and “The Queen’s Mercy” for Aditi, it seems likely Janai will get a tale named after her at one point as well, as she’s currently the only Sunfire queen without.)

This also brings our “characters in S5 who are seeking Freedom” tally up to like, five, now that it’s Callum (from Aaravos), Rayla (for Callum & the coins), Viren (from Aaravos’ machinations, most likely), Aaravos (from prison), and finally Kim’Dael from Aditi’s golden blood oath chain. How’s that for layering

Specifically Kim’Dael and Aaravos both being imprisoned with, well, very different kinds of keys tethered to each of them

We also see the return of deceptive gift giving and promises under the guise of protection or unclear terms. Aaravos was a betrayer who was then betrayed; Rayla was a liar who then revealed one (Claudia); Kim’Dael is a deceiver who’s then deceived, etc etc.

Also in addition to the storm symbolism / pattern the marketing and S5 has been pushing, the Heart Motif (specifically a heart as vulnerability or truth) continues to be more and more consistent, featuring now in every short story’s release and making me believe more and more in my “the Key of Aaravos is Aaravos’ heart/chest piece” theory

Also more Kim’Dael parallels to Rayla and Aaravos not only in aforementioned heart symbolism (“My heart for Xadia”) but also in being likewise the last of their kind(s) / specific groups, and exiled/hunted for it as well. There’s also the way Rayla’s mercy doomed her team and “ Mercy would be the queen’s death someday, she thought—but that, of course, was none of her concern” even if it of course doesn’t come to fruition quite the way she expects

We have Harrow’s “we will pay the blood price eventually” coming true quite literally, as well as questions of why Aditi chose to keep Kim’Dael as a personal murder pet over just killing her (which she clearly could’ve done) when Aditi’s chain clearly isn’t enough to stop Kim’Dael from committing crimes in the future, either.

Last but not least we have Callum and Kim’Dael parallels in terms of literal (or metaphorical) chains around the neck, an inability to breathe, being brought to their knees, etc.

Seeing asks about Player trying to redeem the Villain Chain made me think back to an AU of mine called Wrathful Idols. Basically beings who are either volatile or wrathful and committed great violence have their souls sealed into dolls by an unknown entity. It doesn't matter if they are heroes or villains, these idols were made to house their spirits to slowly rot away.

There is a loophole though. If a Wrathful Idol ends up in the hands of a kindhearted soul then there's a chance they can be redeemed. They regain their physical body as the doll's holder becomes their 'warden' in a sense. A symbiotic relationship since the two must take care of each other if the Idol truly wants to be freed from the doll type curse.

The warden must help their ward heal whether it be mentally or spiritually and the ward protects them from harm. Doing this grants them strength and even newfound abilities based on the respective person.

Anyway, one member of the Villain Chain end up in this position and fall into the Player's grasp. Found snagged in a pitchfork on stormy day, at least two years before Dink snatches them from their world. The trapped Link immediately hates this current predicament but slowly began to mellow out as the Guide takes great care over their doll form.

Repairing the damage done, clean them up, and make sure they are in a safe place if Player has to go somewhere. Plus I feel like Guide is the type of person to talk to the plush on various stuff or include it in watching a movie etc. Completely unaware of the actual spirit gaining something that they haven't had for a long time, love.

Now when a Wrathful Idol takes a physical form, any cosmetic changed done by their warden also manifest. If Conquest had fairy wings sewn on as a doll then fully functional ones will appear on his body. The only way for an idol to take form is by vowing to protect their warden in the time they need it most.

I figured Dink snatching them away from the Chain or the Villain Chain (minus the Wrathful Idol Link in question) is one way to trigger that since their doll was on Guide's person at the moment. The newly freed ward has enough power to drive off the attacker(s) in question although Player would be so confused.

It's even more awkward with the Chain as this Link looks too much like one of them. Meanwhile the Villain Link only acts civil around the heroes for Player's sake. Man is still a dick and you gotta earn his respect.

First off I like the idea of your au! Reminds me of one of my own! We gotta love the idea of a possessed dolls/teddies/plushies etc.

I think it would be pretty interesting if it was a villain Link ward were to pop out after being with the villain Chain like imagine being traumatised by someone only for that same someone to be the one to protect you later on- I know Player is definitely not feeling so great about it OIUFHIPFUH

Hypothetically what if karin would become the jinchuuriki (or the one of the 10 tailes, if we just act like the ending was a genjutsu) would that change the dynamics of the story? Her relationship to her team etc?

I have given this a lot of thought, even before I got this ask. Mainly because I'm always thinking 'bout what of the girls got the crazy powers and what if they were the protagonists of the story.

The first thing we need to acknowledge is that, as a character, Karin is way more cynical than Naruto ever was. Of course, that's because she was just a "common" kid, her parents were no one special in particular. However, the aspect that defines her character the most is her Uzumaki kekkei genkai, where a bite of her flesh guarantees healing to the person biting. She was physically abused and she was sexualized in ways Naruto never was. Karin as a girl suffered a different type of discrimination, the same as Karin as a survivor of a genocide that had no home, not really, so she was a refugee.

All these aspects are really important.

Naruto was rejected and isolated by Konoha, but being from Konoha was still part of his identity (in fact, that's how the manga started). He sexualized himself as a weapon against people. Like the Sage of the Six Paths would later tell him, aside of the kyubi, Naruto didn't get most of his parents' skills. Don't forget that the only reason Naruto had half as much freedom is because Minato was the one who sealed Kurama in him. Previously, the kyubi jinchuriki had to stay within a giant seal and they had to use the Uzumaki chains to keep the kyubi at bay, right?

While Iruka was the one who set Naruto on the hero path, Orochimaru was Karin's "saviour".

Do you get where I'm going?

Hypothetical scenarios where I see Karin Uzumaki somehow becoming the jinchuriki of the kyubi:

Minato and Kushina stay alive for whatever reason, which means they don't have to seal the kyubi in him and instead, Karin is selected as the next jinchuriki for her abilities and the fact she can learn to use the Uzumaki chains.

Something goes reeeally wrong, Naruto dies or is incapable of keep being a jinchuriki and they have to seal the kyubi in Karin.

To stop Obito and Madara, they had to seal a tail beast in Karin because the other jinchuriki died. This is more of a "we need to put this in a safe place to prevent Obito from stealing it"

An Otsutsuki decides to swap the characters abilities for whatever reason.

The Uzumaki clan never falls and Karin grows up in Uzushiogakure or Konohagakure as the next in line to be jinchuriki.

Konoha lost the nine tails and Karin ends up becoming the kyubi jinchuriki for whatever reason.

These are just some possible scenarios, okay?

In some variations, Karin is a nukenin (rogue nin) while being a jinchuriki, which shifts the dynamic of the story to prioritize the opposition to the corruption of the Hidden Villages. This elevates her to be more like Sasuke's equal than Naruto, in truth. She is, of course, more of a target and has less support, which spells disaster all around.

In other variations, she is part of Konoha and she shares the Uzumaki burden with Naruto. This one can shift to Karin leaving the village like Sasuke, or staying and changing her view of the world even if only a little. Naruto and Karin wouldn't have been as lonely growing up together and hey, it'd have been interesting to see Karin competing with Ino and Sakura, right?

As for the shift in Team Taka's dynamic, I believe Sasuke and Karin could have a closer friendship maybe, but the dynamic would be basically the same. They don't care that much about the skills of the other, because it's the personalities what rules their team dynamic. She'd participate more on the fights and have more protagonism, tho.

The major change would be the dynamic of Kurama and Karin and what it'd entail.

For once, I can see the craziness of Jiraiya trying to teach Karin. We're talking about the Pervert™ of Naruto and one of the most sexualized women of the entire manga. Yet, we all know how strong Konan is and she's a student of Jiraiya, so there you have that. I also think Kushina and Karin are an interesting duo, so why not believe they would have a relationship like Mito and Kushina? Or that Kushina could be the sensei of Karin genin team?

Now, if Orochimaru is her sensei... I don't know what he'd do with a jinchuriki for a student. The possiblities of that one is endless, but as a rogue nin, hiding with Orochimaru could be Karin's best option. If she had participated in the attack to Konoha in the Classic, who says the Sound and the Sand wouldn't have ended Konoha right then?

to answer your very serious question, do i think aegon is a fujoshi? no, i don't think he seriously is. i think he likes these obvious displays of power, the same way the abuse of the maids ties back to him exerting the only kind of control he has over people. and obviously there IS a sexual element in the satisfaction of making people submit to him so maybe we can say he enjoys men submitting to him. does that count? idk ponder that. with the pits i mostly agree with you + the pits, the drink, the whoring all as a way of going away and forgetting he lives such a shitty caged life in the worst possible way.

Lore dump: Elrond, jewellery, and general accessories

Elrond wears no less than 7 rings on any given day, and most days much more.

These consist of:

The multitude of rings serve a very important purpose: they make it difficult to identify what rings are actually rings of (magical or political) power. Even IF - and this is a huge IF, since this is top-secret information restricted to the ruling lord(s)/ladies and immediate next-in-line - someone knows about Vilya, or wants to steal his official seal, it’ll be difficult to identify which ring, precisely, to steal when he wears 3 similar-looking ones. And for all anyone not ‘in the know’ knows, maybe Elrond just has specific tastes in rings.

Pray he never has reason to backhand someone, it would probably give them a concussion.

These rings are always on his person. When he needs to remove them (eg. when in the Halls of Healing, for sleep, or washing hands/bathing) he loops them onto a sturdy sterling silver chain he wears around his neck under his robes constantly, in a girth hitch/cow hitch.

(Side note, he has tried with similar-weighted rings, and he has found that he can use the set, when looped like this, as effectively a small medieval flail.)

Other than this, he leans more toward brooches/pins. Draws the eye towards that magnificent ch- Adds interest to his robes and he can just like. Leave them on his robes when changing.

Notably, his head/hair gets relatively little jewellery and accessories, other than entirely functional hairpins, combs, etc, mostly out of preference, partially because he enforces a strict “hair up, back, and ideally covered in the Halls of Healing” policy and having a lot of accessories that he has to remove (on top of his multitude of rings) if he ever visits the Halls - and besides that, will often be covered anyway by a cap or kerchief - doesn’t make sense.

Healers, healing attendants, and healing apprentices are forbidden from having loose or messy hair or sleeves past their elbows in the Halls of Healing, on pain of fines, being barred from work, or being bumped down to apprentice (or losing the apprenticeship). They are also forbidden from wearing arm and hand jewellery, eg bracelets, rings, etc. Many simply pin up and cover their hair, eliminating the possibility of their hair being visibly messy (and linen caps/kerchiefs absorb any sebum anyway, keeping their hair non-greasy for longer), and have their work tunics or gowns made with short sleeves.

Elrond, outside of the Halls, usually wears his hair down as a mark of status - he is a nobleman who doesn’t need to do physical work that would mess up or damage his hair. So when he visits the Halls, he has to quickly put his hair up, cover it, take his rings off and loop them onto his necklace, and then strip down to tunic and roll his sleeves up to past his elbows, to avoid paying his own fines. And then he may still have to throw on healer’s robes. All this would take the time he spends walking/running over from wherever he is, the last thing he needs is to add more jewellery to the mix.

(Having had extremely long, thick hair, for a quick and sturdy bun he would only really need a single hairstick or hair fork, preferably textured, and about 10 seconds to put up his hair, so surprisingly the hair portion doesn’t take very long to settle.)

His hair accessories are generally pretty standard and nondescript, the usual hairpins, hair forks, ribbon hair ties, etc. He prefers dark, textured steel since it’s essentially indestructible, blends in, and holds his hair well.

To Ascend Part 3

Meanwhile, Mobei jun and Binghe amass army. They know cultivators' weaknesses, place layouts, and anything essential via spy Shang Qinghua.

While planning in the throne room, a demon servant comes to inform them that there's a demon asking for their audience.

There stands a young demon in green robes, scales adorning his face and arms.

Zhuzhi lang has speculated this young Heavenly Demon might be his junshang's son. They discuss and set their next goal as freeing Tianlang jun under the Bailu Mountain.

The demons destroy the seals and arrays chaining Tianlang jun. Binghe uses his blood parasites to help heal Tianlang jun. Tianlang jun sees a Heavenly Demon he has never seen before, who looks like Su Xiyan, and puts two and two together.

"Where is your mother?"

"I've never know my birth mother but my adoptive mother is dead."

Tianlang jun doesn't know how Su Xiyan died nor does he care. Either she's killed by demons who dislike humans, or betrayed by humans just like he was.

"They accused me of planning to usurp the Human Realm so I shall grant their wish."

Luo Binghe tells his father the Qing Jing Peak Lord is off limits because his shizun never abused him and he was the only one not participating in fighting him in front of the Endless Abyss.

Tianlang jun still likes human cultures even though he hates cultivators, decides to spare (Qing Jing) scholars, writers, dancers, singers, performers, artists, etc, and kill all the other cultivators.

They start with their common enemy, the Huan Hua Palace. Zhuzhi lang scouts the Huan Hua Palace, and finds Xu Siyan's mission details in the archive.

Mobei jun opens the portal to pour countless demons to siege Huan Hua. Tianlang jun steps in front of the Old Palace Master.

He turns to speak to Luo Binghe. "This is the man that made you an orphan, and charged me falsely. My nephew, how about you? What grudge do you have with this scum?"

"My wish is as Junshang wishes."

"Well then. Let's share the tortures."

Tianlang jun slices his palm. The blood fox flies to grab the Old Palace Master's jaw.

"Since the three of us have blood parasites." Tianlang jun smiles, his eyes cold and sinister. The blood forcefully creeps in the Old Palace Master's mouth.

Luo Binghe cannot control his blood remotely yet so he pours his blood into the Old Palace Master's mouth directly.

Zhuzhi lang bites the Old Palace Master. The blood parasite seeps in together with the painful venom.

"Shall we start?" 

"Aaaaaaaarggh." The screams echo throughout the crumbled palace, mixed with the sounds of muscles ripped, tendons snapped, bones crushed, blood splattered, the wheezing, the gurgling, the howling.

Then the Old Palace Master is healed.

"My son, I'll teach you the art of tortures. Heal the nerves to the perfect condition, then the vital organs only enough to keep your enemy alive. Leave the rest as they are..."

I've had this idea for months but I can't figure the details near the end, and the scale of the fic seems too large for my experience so here is the snippet? to read.

The summary might be:

When original Shen Qingqiu is standing in front of the Endless Abyss when Binghe's seal breaks, the first person who looks for him and arrives is Yue Qingyuan.

Yue Qingyuan, seeing the familiar glowing Heavenly Demon mark he saw on Tianlang jun 17 years ago on Binghe's forehead, shouts to Shen Qingqiu to step back, and inhesitantly unsheaths Xuan Su for the first time in 17 years to blast at Binghe (almost to death but not death because of the protagonist halo) to save his Xiao Jiu.

Shen Qingqiu, however, doesn't step back as he's told. He inscrutably watches Binghe's lying sprawl on the ground, whose wounds are slowly mending together.

Mobei jun then attacks Yue Qingyuan. Yue Qingyuan tells Shen Qingqiu to call for help but Shen Qingqiu ignores and is in inaction until other cultivators arrive due to the intense fighting and enormous qi.

The other cultivators fight Mobei jun and other demons Mobei jun brought. Weapons clang, talimans fly around, seals are activated, and demonic tendrils lash, but Shen Qingqiu never participates.

Finally Yue Qingyuan blasts Binghe into the Endless Abyss. Unknown to everybody except Shen Qingqiu who isn't busy fighting, Mobei jun opens a portal just inside the Endless Abyss and another portal for himself to teleports them both to the Demon Realm.

Yue Qingyuan frantically runs to check Shen Qingqiu, "Qingqiu shidi, are you alright?"

Shen Qingqiu remains silent then tilts his head up and asks, "Are you, Zhangmen shixiong? Why did your sword siphon power from your life force?"

Yue Qingyuan pauses.

It was the first time since Shen Qingqiu stepped into Cang Qiong that he saw Yue Qingyuan drew Xuan Su. Who would have thought that the only happenstance was on the day his disciple turned out to inherit a demon lineage?

"Qingqiu shidi, that's... Unimportant right now. Are you injured anywhere?"

Shen Qingiu clicks his tongue at the blatant evasion and snaps his  fan open to hide his face.

"This shidi's injury isn't important either." Shen Qingqiu turns away to stare at the broken Zhengyang.

"Xiao Jiu..." Yue Qingyuan frets and reaches out to check for Shen Qingqiu's injuries, noting the unusual absence of the aversion to skin contacts and the angry retort after calling the old name.

"Your disciple... Did you know he's a Heavenly Demon?"

"A half Heavenly Demon," Shen Qingqiu corrects pointedly. "And no, I didn't."

Shen Qingqiu bends down to pick up Zheng Yang shards and gather  them into his qiankun pouch ignoring Yue Qingyuan’s fussing.

Then they discuss the casualities and injuries from the event in a tent.

Artemis and Apollo

I was working on a post about my thoughts on the relationships between Jimin, Jungkook and Tae before the Tailor of Chaos made his appearance and wrecked my brain. I had a lot written and was trying to edit it down so it wouldn’t be a several-chapter-long study about each of those three’s personalities and why I think they do what they do. I’ll get back to it later maybe.

So I am putting that aside in order to delve into these concepts of Jimin’s. I have to admit, it is intimidating how he comes up with these ideas. I have a lot of thoughts about all this and I am trying to put some order to it but the key word in all of it truly is chaos. The more I see, the more I am in awe and the more confused I am trying to reconcile all the various versions of Jimin.

I am thinking about all the years we had cutie sexy lovely Jimin and Mochi and Chimmie. I am wondering in his WeLive last week when he mentioned that he did some self-reflecting on why he cut his hair short in April (if that translation is indeed accurate and that IS what he meant) if he cut his hair because it was a way to hang on to “youth” one last time? 

And then he drops these heavy ideas on us about id and ego... the inner tug of war between primitive impulses and morality and the rational and controlling mediator that supposedly prevents either from overpowering the other. A inner turmoil of push and pull...

I mentioned in a post or two ago that I wondered if the Tailor of Chaos concept is what summoned the Black Swan stage outfits with the lack of shirts and the body chains and yes, it was all being created in about the same timeframe. The temporary tattoos: the words tailor of chaos and Artemis and when I flipped the image I see the word Filter. We are seeing Jimin revisiting Filter. Who is Artemis? In Greek mythology, Artemis is goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, nature, vegetation, childbirth, care of children, and chastity. Artemis is also associated with the moon. In the myth of Actaeon, when this young hunter sees her bathing naked, he is transformed into a deer by the angered goddess, and is then devoured by his own hunting dogs who do not recognize their own master. THAT is truly conceptual...and is then devoured by his own dogs that don’t recognize their own master.... all kinds of imagery there that can be compared to life as an idol and especially as a member of BTS. Their own industry (dogs) devour them because they don’t recognize them as the one (master) who is bringing them more success than ever... 

Artemis has a twin brother named Apollo. Apollo is the god of music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, and is associated with the Sun and light, poetry, and more!!!!!!!

Other aspects of Artemis: In spite of her status as a virgin who avoided potential lovers, there are multiple references to Artemis' beauty and eroticism.

Hydra!Four

Another monster Link! For anyone wondering, no I'm not doing because it's October. Just like messing with a character's species. If you guys don't know, Hydras are a mythical serpent from Greek Mythology. This is an example I took from a DND page.

Hydra nature came from his mother's side and manifested fully at eight years old. Body is similar to a Mexican Mole Lizard in structure with each head having their own set of hands and upper torsos. The lower half being similar to an iguana with four different colored tails. When split, all colors have their own serpentine body.

Around 48 ft in length when whole whilst 12 ft in length if split. A shrunken Four is the size of a house cat as his split form measures around the average garden snake. Each one of Four's heads have their own element. Green is Earth, Red is Fire, Blue is Water and Violet is Poison. Very few people and the Minish know about his Hydra nature.

Violet scales double as both an antidote and poison. Plucking a scale without permission makes it poisonous unlike when given permission. The poisonous scales act similar to Cane Toad venom, yeah, someone's going to become incapacitatingly high.

Green scales act as a fertilizer of sorts. One ground up scale can revitalize an entire crop field. However if stolen then the scale will petrify instead. Can be used to boost the healing power of medicine.

Blue scales function like purifiers, revolving any toxins from various liquids. A single scale can purify a small lake. Stolen scales will freeze whatever liquid it touches including blood.

Red scales grant powerful fire properties to any object imbued with it. Can even turn suits of armor into lava based diver suits. Stolen scales will incinerate any non-living object and set ablaze living creatures.

Four is extremely careful when it comes to shedding season. Often storing his shed scales in magic sealed chests as they can be super dangerous on their own. Tends to be very nippy around friends and fully hostile with strangers during shedding season.

Four would often use his scales to help his town or neighboring areas. This usually happens if the conditions are very bad such as devastated crops, polluted waters, etc. His red scales are used the most while his violet scales are used the least.

Complete hoarder when it comes to any well crafted forge item or highly rare material. His hoard is hidden within a private aclove whenever he feels like lazing about in his monster form.

Can purr although it's often mistaken for rumbling. Tends to eat rock or minerals such as iron, steel and even gems. Four likes to sunbathe or relax in water. He tends to shrink using magic just so he can relax in Hydra form without causing a scene.

Like any Hydra, cutting off Four's head will only cause two more to grow in its place. Can happen in human form as well although it's super irritating for him especially since they're chatterboxes. Extra heads are difficult to get rid of whenever the Four Sword isn't used.

Constant arguing tends to happen between Four's heads. At best two get into a bickering match and at worst all four are arguing. Nipping alongside slapping are bound to occur if it isn't interrupted.

Chain finds out when a Yiga cuts off Four's head in human form. No one expected two to grow instead of one nor the Smithy to say 'Fuck it' and transforms. Has been asked on multiple occasions if he was cursed to the point it becomes irritating.

If any Link calls him short in human form then he's quick to assume his Hydra and lay his tail down on the culprit. The Chain gets front row seats to any bickering matches between their companion's heads. Time usually breaks them apart.

Four does give his fellow Links some of his scales to use for emergencies, at least three per color. He wants to make sure that his brothers in arms have extra protection if they get separated by a portal or trap.

Only uses his Hydra form in battle under dire circumstances or extremely pissed off. Otherwise, Four lazes about as a cat sized beastie whenever he feels like it. Usually takes a nap in one of the Chain's bags during those times.

sorry for the slight rant every now and again I think about the sheer madness of somepeople thinking that Ethan whilst activly being hunted by people wanting to kill him to pull out his therapist license (and 30+ years of experience because being a recent graduate just ain't going to cut it) and chair and convince his potential murderers to talk to him about their 100+ years of trauma like seriously being understanding only goes so far and I doubt anyone thought like this about fucking Lisa Trevor

I feel more sympathy and empathy about Lisa Trevor than I do all the Lords combined and any sympathy/ liking I had for the lords has been well and truly squashed by the extreme fans who want Ethan to be a therapist to people trying to kill him and the woobification of them all (at the demonisation of ethan and mia when I think about). Lisa like the lords was actively trying to hurt Chris and Jill they didn't stop to think about how they could help her because they couldn't she was so far gone at that point etc (seriously there is a achievement for killing Lisa which is simply "put the poor girl out of her misery"

Rant away! And you know what the problem is with the extreme stans? It's not that they confuse "The Lords were Miranda's victims and their behaviour stems from the abuse they underwent because of her" with "They deserved being understood and rescued by Ethan, a random dude who was just trying to save his daughter and they were attacking him for it" because it's their right to think what they want to think about the Lords. It's not even when they vent out on Ethan (and Mia, for some weird reason) cause again, to each their own, if they've connected to the Lords and they want to vent out on a fictional character (even when that character doesn't necessarily deserve it) through fic or whatever, he's still a fictional character and no harm no foul. It's when they act like it's canon!!!11! that Ethan is the worst person ever, or a villain, or even an idiot, for not going like "I understand you mean to kill me; however, I also understand what happened to you is the result of experimentation upon you and decades of abuse by Miranda, so I will not fight you while you actively try to kill me."

Like, I don't know what those people expected Ethan to do. He's Just a Guy, singed and sealed. Even if he was some kind of a therapist or a pacifist or something, idk, it would still be a stretch to imagine him stopping defending himself when they were attacking him, just in hopes of healing their decades-old trauma. Homeboy fought back against his own wife when she initiated attacks on him (without even knowing she had no control over her actions). The wife whom he stayed in the Baker house to save. If he wouldn't pull any punches when Mia, whom again he loved to death, tried to kill him, why the fuck would he ever pull punches from people who knowingly not only kept his daughter away from him, but also wanted to torture him?

Like are we all forgetting how Ethan first met the Lords? Heisenberg stabbed him, chained him and dragged him across the stone floor, then he and Dimitrescu were actually arguing over who gets to torture him, while Donna/Angie and Moreau were watching with excitement. Heisenberg even thanked Miranda (albeit with a deep sarcasm that we only understand after we know the whole story) for letting him drag Ethan into his torture show. Why the fuck would Ethan stop and think "Those people must have some deep-seated trauma that I specifically must resolve, even risk my life to do so!" especially since the one person he was actually responsible for, was in danger?

Like... Ethan was responsible for one (1) person. Rose. Whom the Lords knowingly kept away from him. Prioritizing other people, no matter how in need of saving they might be, over your kid, when said kid also needs saving... sorry to break it to you, but that's child abuse. Prioritizing the people who keep your child in need of help over your child who is in need of help... that toxic beyond all fuck, dude. Get some therapy, I know it's expensive, but it's needed.

And again, it's okay if people just wanna have fun with fiction. But going out into the wild (aka main tags) and seeing people actually demonizing Ethan for not being a toxic, abusive father and not simping for the Lords the way those people do... yikes. Were people mad, after first playing re7, that Ethan killed Eveline? Like, you wanna talk about victims? Look at Eveline, who was born as an experiment herself, and only acted out because the people who experimented on her refused to fulfill her one basic need; love. You could argue that if Ethan had simply showed her care, she might have gone quietly and not fought him the way she did. But again, it's not his fucking responsibility, as tragic as Eveline's case is. (Though in a way I'm glad there aren't as many people demonizing Ethan for that cause that would make me think there are people simping for Eveline and. Uhm.)

Or like you say, Lisa Trevor. As little as I know about the Resident Evil series, I know that in it sometimes infected people are just too far gone and the only kindness you can show them is to put them out of their misery. And again Lisa was, from the beginning to the end, a victim. The wiki itself doesn't even have any figures of her not being a disfigured, not even resembling a human anymore, bioweapon who is also chained down. That alone is creepy and disturbing as all fuck. But fuck her, I guess. She's not hot like Tall Vampire Lady or Daddy Magneto.

Like, this is why in that other post I made, I say "We stan Ethan for prioritizing his daughter and telling Heisenberg to fuck off". Saying yes to Heisenberg (I vehemently refuse to call what Heisenberg did a "deal" or an "offer"; it was outright blackmail) would mean he trusted a stranger, who had all but abused and used him, with his daughter's safety. And again sorry to break it to you, that's not father of the century material, it's not even father of the hour material.

TL; DR, the Lords are actually super interesting characters and they've got so many things to explore and discuss and write fic about. None of those things is that they were victimized by Ethan Winters. Accept you're a simp and understand your perception of Ethan is different than what the game intended us to have (vaild to hate him, invalid to think you're a genius for doing so).

When I first read the ask, I read it as if Legend up in TotK instead of Wild (tbf I was tired) and then I read the answer and was like "Oh! Yeah of course that's what they meant! And that's a good fic, glad someone found the link!"

And then I wasn't going to comment on this, but because my brain is apparently unable of just letting things go when it sees a concept (or misunderstands one).......

WARNING FOR SPOILERS OF EARLY/MID-PLAY TOTK PLOT AND CERTAIN MEMORIES AND LOCATIONS UNDER THE CUT!

So, of course, one take would be to replace Wild with Legend, which would surely change things because they deal with things differently, but things would probably not change so much

But!

Imagine if, when Wild is called away from the chain's adventure, Legend comes with him (either on purpose for help and advice bc he's a veteran with valuable experience, or on accident). So Legend follows Wild and Flora into the deep secret chambers of the castle partly because it's clearly the source of the gloom mist, and partly because it's the one spot Fable won't let him explore and Din damn it he is curious! Anyway when they meet the dehydrated Ganondorf there are three ways I can see it go:

Legend manages to grab on to Wild's foot in the last second and ends up on the Great Sky Island too, and have likely explored some of it while Wild is healing because he needed food and Rauru had promised Wild would be safe there (and then the question is if he can see Rauru anyway or if he had to use the glasses from ALBW)

Legend managed to grab on to Flora and ends up in the past with her. Maybe he had brought the Harp of Ages with him but doesn't trust his abilities with it to bring them home as he doesn't have access to the "portal spots" he had in Labrynna (I know those only existed one way but shhh). Lots of comedic and angst potential here (eg: joining Sonia and Rauru in teasing Flora about Wild only for Flora to turn it around and tease him about Ravio etc and giving Sonia and Rauru more teasing material, or realising that the pig Ganon he fought three times was only an avatar of the real thing (which is my hc at the moment), and so on). Flora would likely still do the forbidden thing because of the Master Sword, so I imagine Legend would either try to use the Harp when he's alone and he feels there is nothing more he can do in the past, or he is "sealed away" by Zelda (maybe in the form of a painting or while using the Serpent's Toga Outfit from TFH to make the process easier?) and is "sleeping" in the Temple of Time or in the hidden room in the Forgotten Temple until Wild can release him from the spell

He doesn't manage to grab onto either of them and falls down into the Depths with Ganondorf. Manages to get away from the Demon King through a small passage (maybe the dark magic that exuded from Ganondorf when he caused the Upheaval forced him into his Bunny form? And if so, would he be stuck in that form until he found an active Lightroot or he got onto the Surface again?) and then he is stuck in the Depths either until the Zonai Survey Team (ZST) have managed to get down there and he can hitch a ride back up with them or Wild himself have to find him (and would Legend then stay in the the Blupees' Burrow? Or would he be elsewhere? In some spot closer to Central Hyrule? Or further away because his instincts tell him to get tf away from the Demon King?). And then the question is what he feeds on because I hc it takes a few months between the Upheaval and Wild being healed enough to be able to leave the Great Sky Island. Is the grass edible enough for his Bunny form? Can he handle plants that are otherwise uncookable? Does he steal food from ZST and/or the Yiga? Does the blupees feed him? Have he almost starved to death when Wild or the ZST find him? Or the Yiga for that matter (and what would keep them from killing him in that case? Because both his Bunny-form (potential food source) or his Hero status would be reasons for the Yiga to kill him)

So yeah as you can see my brain played the what-if game again pls send help

OKAY I had a really vivid dream and then ideas stemmed from that dream and it was to do with legend so naturally the first thing to do is tell you said ideas right?

Yk how ever since tears of the kingdom was announced people were coming up with content to do with wild getting taken away from the chain to do totk before getting given back to them post totk? Imagine that, but with legend instead cause I think it would be fun.

So basically, everything is the same except to begin with, alltp link is there. So the chain is panicking because why the fuck is there a literal 10 year old here, this is worse than the 13 year old- etc etc. But them being them, they adopt this kid quickly, this is their baby brother and you can't tell them otherwise. Wind is happy there's someone younger than him tbh. The kids also really young, so where legend probably only talks about his adventures during his once in a blood moon lore drops, this child talks about them properly and actually has time to process. He's still traumatised from them but he's dealing with it in a healthy way and is surprisingly good at helping the others too.

Then during a world switch, somehow the kid disappears. He's gone for about... a month for them and then comes back visibly older, and more scarred and traumatised, sporting a fever to boot. For a while they can't get him to say anything about what happened but he's still a young kid so they do get him to talk about it. How idk tbf I haven't thought that deeply into it.

The same thing keeps happening after that. He helps the chain for a few months, disappears for a while and then comes back older and with a new adventure under his belt. By the last one they understood what was happening, and just.. waited for their not so little brother to come back.

I feel like this version of legend would be a lot less prickly than the one we all love because he had a proper support system after each adventure who actually understood what he was going through. Obviously he'd still be sarcastic as fuck but that's just who he is, after all that's a link thing.

I also think that they'd call lil leg some form of rabbit nickname or something to do with the pink hair.

FUN FACT!!!!! This is a fic!

I didn't write it, but I remember it was one of the fics that made me love Legend when I was first getting into the fandom!

It opens with ALTTP Link running into a random portal to escape the knights in his era and accidentally coming across the chain. warriors is actually like one of the first one's he meets, and because KNIGHT he goes into full panic mode. Warriors and the others help calm him down though, and eventually integrate them into their group. Wind and Warriors are debatably the closest with him, because Wind has a little brother now, and Warriors because after the misunderstanding when they meet, he kind of becomes Little Leg's protector and safe person.

And then Legend gets thrown back.

He thinks it's a dream, or he made it up to process his loneliness, but then after all his adventures, he finds a portal again, like he used to go through with his big brotehrs, and he's both scared and warily hopefull. He goes through, thinking they'll have grown and changed like him, that he's still the youngest.

He comes back on the same night he disappeared.

Nothing has changed.

They're still looking for him in a panic.

Naturally, Legend being Legend makes some comment about how they'll never find the kid they're looking for, and in a fit of protective big brother rage, Warriors absolutally loses it on him, thus forever imprinting the image of his big brother trying to kill him on Legend's mind.

They figure out what happens not long after, and of course Wars is apologetic, but Legend can now only see his protector as his attacker and a liar (Wars promised to never hurt him) and thus ANGST

The story is still in the works, but I would 100% go and read it! It's a real tear jerker!
