I wanted to listen to one of the cover artists I like who does like villain songs but the algorithm thought I wanted to listen to original disney music and now I'm seething because "mother knows best" came up and NO THE FUCK SHE DOES NOT. Mother Gothel is easily one of the dumbest villains of all time. She could've told Rapunzel her birthday was another day. She could've just straight up not explained the concept of birthdays to her. She could've said the lights she saw were a part of a festival where the participants feasted on prisoners'flesh (they especially like blonde haired little girls' taste Rapunzel! Stay inside!!) But nooo let's talk about birthdays. Absolute moron. My god.

:: prologue - running to the starting line
You craved control.
For all of your life, you never got to experience any kind of control, except when you were a little girl. Your mom would let you choose things for yourself. Like when you wanted to train, what you wanted to eat, and who you wanted to play with. But one day, she dropped you off to your father's house and she was gone. Murdered in cold blood that same night. Your light, happiness, and control died with her that day too. Gone in an instant. You would never choose another thing for yourself from that moment forward.
Until now.
Your feet, clad in thick black leather combat shoes worn with dirt and time, slapped against the wet pavement as you ran to the bus station. You roughly rubbed your hands against your tear-stained eyes. How could I be so stupid, you thought to yourself as your heart pounded in agony against your chest.
He really fooled you good, didn't he? For a second there, you felt safe. Like someone actually cared and didn't want you for your power.
Giichi...you bastard.
You clenched your fists angrily as you wiped the tears from your eyes. No more tears, I have to keep going or else dad will find me and I'll end up back in that cell.
After your mom died, your dad took you in and decided to make you use your gift as a payment for him taking you in. He took you underground in his base. There were no windows, no light, no color. It was dull and empty. The only things in your cell were a mat with a blanket, a toilet, and chains on the wall that were used to restrain you when you failed him and needed to be punished. You spent nine painful years down there. You spent your time healing your father's gang members and guards when they came back from a fight. The worst nights were the nights where a lot of them got hurt. Healing that many of them at once would almost kill you at some times, but your father never let you stop. He never let you have a break. The pain of it all left you breathless.
You were his tool and your purpose was to fix the people that were destroyed for him and his money.
The most painful part of it all though was probably the loneliness of it all. You didn't get to have any friends, and the only person your age that you knew was this boy that you met on an island a long time ago.
There was also your soulmate, of course.
He was always there, never fully in focus, but lingering in your thoughts. His emotions and feelings often filled your mind when they were strong. You didn't know his name, or what he looked like, but you knew him. Even if it was just a little bit.
You first felt him there the night your mom died.
The thunder and rain pattering against your window drowned out the sound of your sobs as you lay in bed awake that night. You had never felt so alone before. Not only was your mother gone, but her whole clan was gone. The people that she loved so much, and the people that you were just getting to know. Your small hand grasped your pillow tightly as a sob ripped its way through your throat when all of a sudden, you felt it. It was small, but nonetheless present. A soft, unfamiliar warmth lingered in the corner of your mind, almost like it was a little bit timid. It soothed her, suddenly she didn't feel so alone.
"I'm sorry," it seemed to say.
With tears still streaming down your cheeks and your eyes wide open, you whispered back, "Thank you."
There were multiple other occasions that you felt him there.
After your father smacked you around a few times for not healing fast enough, or not giving the results he wanted, you'd feel that same warmth.
When you were on the brink of death after healing too many terrible wounds at once, you felt his panic in the corner of your mind.
Sometimes, you could feel a deep loneliness in his mind. Sometimes you could feel he was in physical pain, just like you.
Was it possible that he was going through something similar?
You often wondered if he felt the lack of control that you did.
You knew that you would be destined to meet one day. When and where you didn't really know. You haven't found him yet because his first words to you were still written across your collarbone and you had yet to hear them out loud.
You were in no rush to find your soulmate though, you still had plenty of things you wanted to do. So many places to explore. So much life to live and take back. You were in no rush to settle down with a partner that you had no control over choosing, especially since you just freed yourself.
You ran away from your father's house about 3 months ago. There was a big raid. Enemies of your father had never broken into his base before, and you knew it was likely that it wouldn't happen again soon. So when the locks on your cell were unlocked due to the damage that was happening to the base, you took the opportunity and ran. You took your katana from your father's storage unit on the way out and bolted.
After running for a while, you found a small city. It was called Junipo City. The population was small and the poverty level was high. You were homeless for a while. You slept in an ally way behind the city's supermarket, and that's where he found you. Giichi.
When you first saw Giichi, you thought that he was very handsome. Just looking at his slick back black hair and green eyes made your heart do a little jump in your chest. However, it was his smile that pulled you in. There was something so friendly, so inviting about it. How naive you were then...
He acquainted himself with you and started dropping off food to you for about two weeks. After those two weeks, he convinced you to stay with him in a shelter that he lived in and worked in. He gave you your first set of new clothes in nine years, a place to sleep and food to eat. He took care of you, and for the first time since you escaped, you felt like maybe you didn't have to do things alone.
For the next two months, things were perfect. Giichi showed you all over town during the day. At night, he would bring you hot chocolate before you went to bed. You loved watching him play with all of the other kids and talk with the elderly at the shelter. Sometimes, late at night, you found the courage to confide in him. You told him about your past and all of your fears. Your heart began to flutter madly in your chest whenever he walked into the room. You thought that maybe, everything would be okay, maybe he even liked you too...
But after everything that happened tonight, you found yourself back in square one, alone again.
He had asked you if you had any career plans for the future.
"Hmm," you thought as your feet swung back and forth over the side of your cot, "I was thinking that maybe I could become a Hunter. I'm hoping to take the next exam. I think that my experience with nen and my katana gives me a good chance of passing the exam," you replied sheepishly.
"The next exam?" Giichi asked sorrowfully.
"Yeah," you smiled, "is there something wrong?"
Giichi smiled and shook his head, taking his seat on his cot across from yours.
"There's nothing wrong with that, of course. I'm really happy for you. It's just that...I'm really sad to see you go so soon. The Hunter exam is next week after all."
He looked back up at you. His sorrowful sage meeting your (y/e/c) ones. There was something in his look that made your heart soar...
"Giichi, I-"
He leaned in closer to you from his cot and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. Almost immediately you felt heat rise to your cheeks. He's so close...
"(Y/N)...I was going to wait to tell you this, but since you're leaving I have no choice but to tell you now," a mischievous smile found its way onto his face, "I really like you, (y/n). I have since the moment I met you. You're beautiful and strong. It really makes me sad that you're leaving before we had the chance to become something more than friends..."
Something more than friends? You had never thought about being more than friends with someone other than your soulmate...and even when you did think about that you figured that would be happening way down the line. Right now, you're free and you're allowed to finally make choices for yourself.
The first words of your soulmate burned angrily against the skin of your collarbone.
Could you pursue this, soulmate aside? No...no you couldn't. You were going to become a Hunter. You were going to make money and explore the world. Maybe along the way, you'd meet people and you'd get to finally use your power safely for people you care about...For now, though, you didn't have room for a relationship, despite what you felt for Giichi.
"Giich-"
Before you could tell him how you felt, he placed his hands on your cheeks and pressed his lips to yours.
You were completely frozen. Your eyes wide open in shock and your heart pounding against your chest. This was your first kiss. Before you could even process that thought it was over, and your soulmate mark was on fire.
He was there, lingering dejectedly in the corner of your mind. Feelings of jealousy, betrayal, and finally something passive washed over him in your head. And then he was gone. He shut himself out almost faster than your kiss.
Giichi pulled away from you, "After you get your Hunter license, will you come here and show me?"
You nodded your head slowly, your fingers playing with your tingling lips, "S-Sure."
He smirked and patted your head before walking away, "Get some sleep, (y/n). Goodnight."
Sleeping was the last thing you did. You laid awake in your cot, your soulmate mark throbbing against your collarbone. After about an hour of tossing and turning, you decided to get up and get some water, walking on your tiptoes to avoid waking the other sleeping children in the cots around you.
You were almost to the kitchen when you heard Giichi talking on the phone in his office.
"...uh-huh, yeah...She should be back from her Hunter Exam in two weeks, I'm guessing... Yeah...You can pay me and take her at the same time I guess, no need to make two trips... trust me, she'll definitely be back..."
You rocked on your feet outside of his office, almost losing your balance at the same time. He tried to trick you...he tried to gain your trust and sell you...To who though? Your father? A third party that knew about your power? That didn't matter, right now you had to get away and lay low.
You ran back to your cot and took the few things that you owned. You pulled on your black hoodie and pulled the strap of your Katana case over your chest and let your katana rest on your back. From there, you crept out of the back doors and ran into the night.
Your feet slowed to a stop as you reached the bus stop. A bus was there loading passengers so you immersed yourself into the line, pulling your hoodie over your face.
You took a seat alone at the back of the bus, the rain pattering angrily against the window and the wind rattling the bus.
You can do this alone, (y/n). Don't be afraid, you have to lay low for a little while.
You took a deep breath and shut your eyes. Regret weighed heavily on your heart and you tried to push these thoughts to your soulmate but you were met with silence.
The intercom on the bus buzzed to life, "Next stop: Yorknew City."

Friday Night Rehabilitation (CN:  incarceration, forced sex work, machinery, state violence, noncon, pepper spray, throat fucking, rimming, piss)
The balls were the best part of Becky's job. Small balls in dangling sacks, fat balls almost shrink-wrapped by their skin, smooth ones, hairy ones, sweaty balls, powdery balls, washed or unwashed, whatever the balls were, Becky was thankful for them. She worshipped them, licked them, kissed and smooched them, whimpered in appreciation every time she was given an opportunity to show her devotion to the balls.
On her first day of imprisonment, Becky had not yet learned to love the balls. Her first user had fucked her throat until she was near-hysterical, then withdrew his cock and proffered his balls forward to be sucked. She hadn't realized what he was doing at first, and once she did, she shied away in disgust. Rather than attempt to convince her, the man simply shoved his cock back into her throat, plundered it even more energetically than before. Becky could remember the aftermath of that first session, her throat spasming in pain, cum burning her sinuses, and as her head withdrew back through the wall and into the restraining measures, a robotic voice informed her that the user's one-star review had added an additional seven days to her sentence. She could barely get a sob out before the silicone gag forced itself back into her mouth and the breathing tubes wormed their way into her nostrils.
Before the end of her first shift, she had learned that ball-worship was a reprieve. They were the only respite she had from man after man battering her tonsils and reaming out her gullet, and if she wasn't licking, sucking and worshipping the balls, she would instead find them pressed against her nose, creating a perfect airtight seal as she spasmed around the dick in her throat. After each man finished she would either be used immediately by another man or withdrawn back into the restraining measures, which choked and throttled her in an even-more sadistic way than the men did, carefully measuring out her breaths and blood oxygen readings to ensure she got the exact amount of air required for her safety, not a gasp more, not a gasp less. When she was given a pair of balls to lick and suck she could breathe almost freely, let them rest in her mouth, and steel herself for the throat-fucking that would continue shortly. Some men didn't fuck her throat at all, they would stroke their cocks while she slurped on their nuts before feeding her their creamy sperm, these men were her favorites, and she felt a swell of relief every time she recognised their shoes approaching her.
Eating ass was a respite, and when she had worked pre-imprisonment as a hooker Becky had considered herself an expert at rimming, but the problem was positioning: her restraining device was built into a wall inside the men's toilets of a chain adult bookstore. When a user wanted service, they pressed a button, and Becky's head would be pushed through the wall at hip-height, her head hanging upside-down, with metal inserts fitted between her teeth to prevent her from closing her mouth or biting down. Some of the men enjoyed having their assholes eaten, and from Becky's perspective it was better than another throat-fuck, but she had to strain her neck muscles and force her tongue forward for every lick and flick. Balls were almost comfortable in comparison.
She wished that the man face-fucking her would let her lick his balls. His cock was thin at the tip but wide enough in the middle that it felt as if he would split her neck apart from the inside. She'd had a dozen users already today, but she was never able to keep track, and never knew if this meant she had a handful or a hundred throat-fucks left that shift. Once her shift was over she'd get a "rest" in the restraining device, fitful and drug-induced, and then the next shift would start. She "worked" four days on and four days off, and on her days off she was released from the machine and returned to her solitary cell in the prison's Rehabilitative Research wing.
They told her that her shifts were twelve hours but she had no way of knowing. There were no clocks and no windows either in the toilet or her prison cell, and even the solitary exercise cage was indoors. She didn't know the day, month, or even time of year, she didn't even know how long she had left on her sentence. A guard had told her to shut up when she'd asked through the food slot, and when she persisted in asking, he sprayed his pepper spray through the slot and cut off the water in her cell for a day. After that, she learned to only speak when spoken to.
The man fucking her came, never stopping his long, deep strokes, the force of his thrusts pushing cum out between her lips and up through her sinuses. Once his cock softened he left the tip in Becky's mouth. She stifled a groan and did her best to seal her lips around it before he started pissing. It was too fast and too much to drink all of the nauseatingly bitter liquid, but she guzzled enough to stop it from splashing all over his pants and shoes. She heard the chime of a five-star rating as the man walked away, and another man walked up to replace him.
The next man was a cop. Becky didn't know his name, but she recognised him, first by gait and then by taste. He'd been involved in her arrest. Turning tricks without being part of a licensed brothel meant a two grand fine and a six month suspended sentence for being a public nuisance, but doing so with another girl in the car meant pimping charges for both of them. Two year minimum plus extras, because the cops would always throw in a baggie of crystal meth and an unlicensed firearm into the car to keep the DA happy, so ten years in state with the possibility of parole after four years. The alternative was a rehabilitation program run through a private org, between six and eighteen months based on behaviour.
She'd begged to serve out her full sentence in state, oh she'd begged. They ignored begging, usually. They didn't ignore kicking and screaming. When they'd put her back in solitary after her first four days of work, she'd refused to come out. Her fingers still ached at night from how tight they'd cuffed her wrists that day. A bull-dyke guard had yanked down Becky's pants while a second guard daubed pepper spray directly on her genitalia. She still tried to wriggle away from the claustrophobically-tight neoprene hood that prisoners wore during transport, so they pushed her face down on the concrete, kicked her ribs until she stopped flinching, and pulled the hood on regardless. The hood was so tight she couldn't even blink under it, and she feared it more than almost anything else in her captivity.
The cop pinched her nose while she licked his balls. She was used to sucking off cops for free to avoid getting hassled, and she never realized until now how mad that made cops, the idea that they could force a hooker to do something but she'd still be getting something out of it, even if "something" was just avoiding a night in a cell or a court appearance. When cops got a chance to force her to do something that she got nothing out of, they relished it. He fucked her roughly enough to make her puke, not that there was anything but spit, cum and piss to throw up. After he came, he wiped up the mess that had splattered on top of his boots with his fingers and fed it to her. Her only consolation was that the cops couldn't leave more than one review each.
The throat-rape blurred together until she had another pair of balls in her mouth. She moaned around them to show her appreciation. They smelled familiar, they might have belonged to one of her former Johns, not that either of them would ever know. She didn't know how she'd be able to go back to turning tricks after this, it had been a job, better than some of her other jobs, but she couldn't see how she'd associate sucking cock with anything other than cruel rapes, throat torture, pepper spray and living entombment once this was over. That was the 'rehabilitation' aspect, not to mention that it was harder to charge a hundred dollars for a blowjob when the adult bookshops gave them away for free.
An unwashed man flopped his half-hard cock into her mouth. Some of the users made a point to only have their cocks cleaned by the mouths of the unwilling girls here. If they did it to disgust and upset her, it half worked: the smell and taste was unpleasant, but the fact that they wanted to be licked and sucked on rather than plunged down Becky's gullet meant her work was easier, and by the time they wanted to fuck her throat, they were halfway finished. Besides, these ones always wanted their balls sucked. He left her with a pubic hair stuck to her tongue, which she tried fruitlessly to spit out, before the machine behind her whirred and pulled her back through the wall.
End of shift. Lubricated tubes wormed their way into her nostrils and past her sinuses, a cock-shaped gag filled her mouth and then inflated, filling every inch of her cheeks and throat until her whole face felt fit to burst. She felt woozy, and suddenly bloated—she was always fed and watered via enema while at work—and as the drugs kicked in she struggled to keep her eyes open.
Becky tried to think of balls as she drifted off. They would be the least painful thing she could dream of.

You’re My Kid Too
Day 2: "Pick Who Dies"| Collars| Kidnapped
Mr. Stark was going to be so pissed. She was sure of it. Getting kidnapped was one thing, but allowing for Morgan to be taken too was a whole other level. She'd been babysitting for the day, taking Morgan out for a day at the Central Park Zoo as she tried to adjust to the newly repopulated world and Mr. Stark's new family. But something had happened when they'd been looking at the penguins, and she couldn't exactly remember what it was other than the hissing of gas and the whoosh! of doors clanging closed.
But then she'd woken up, cold except for a small and warm body clinging onto her desperately as it cried. She'd realized quickly that it was Morgan, and that they definitely weren't in the zoon anymore.
"Morgan?" she'd whispered in the dark, and the girl had frozen before gripping onto harder.
"Penny, Penny!" she'd cried, and Penny had sat up, wincing at the soreness in her side, and scooping Morgan into her lap, "I thought--I thought you were gone again and I didn't wanna be alone!"
She shushed the girl placatingly, "It's okay, it's okay. We're gonna be alright, okay? You just gotta be the strong girl you always are, right?" Morgan had nodded, "Good, okay, do you know how long we've been here?" She'd shrugged, "Okay, that's alright. Have you seen anyone?"
"No."
"Okay, if someone comes in you get behind me, alright? Just sit behind me and stay quiet, can you do that?"
"Yeah," Morgan had affirmed. The girl had struck true to her word when a woman had entered the room a few hours later, hiding behind her legs as the girl stood up to face their kidnapper.
The woman smiled at the two of them, and honestly, this wasn't who Penny had been expecting. She was small, barely taller than Penny herself, middle-aged, and slightly overweight. She dressed like a high school English teacher, with a short pixie cut that had turned gray, the only remnants of her original hair color being the few strands of black.
She'd gone on about revenge and the Avengers causing the loss of her own child, and really, Penny felt for her, but kidnapping a five year-old wasn't the way to go. Then the woman had left, leaving behind a small brown bag that ended up being two water bottles and ham and cheese sandwiches that she nibbled on before handing one to Morgan.
That had been two days ago, and while protecting Morgan was on the top of her to-do list, she hadn't been quite prepared for how hard it would be to entertain her, especially when she would randomly go into fits crying for her parents and Penny could do nothing but hold her. She must've played patty cake a thousand times, struggling to remember the rhyme and having to force herself to be gentle with the preschooler in front of her.
Three meals were delivered a day, and there was a toilet in the corner of the room that she thought must be an old prison room, so overall it could be worse conditions. They weren't being tortured, they were being fed, and were at least together, though they probably both smelled since they hadn't had a shower since they'd arrived.
Penny kept telling herself to wait, to lay low like Mr. Stark had always told her to do if she got kidnapped, to let him come and rescue them, and at first she had been prepared to do that, to hunker down and wait while she was with Morgan, but two days turned to six, and then nine, each night growing colder and all she could do was hug Morgan tighter.
But then she couldn't hug Morgan.
On the ninth day the woman returned, this time with two other people with solemn expressions, and Penny had immediately pressed Morgan behind her at the tingle running up and down her spine.
"Step away," the woman ordered, the bars of the cage opening with a clang!
"No," Penny said, putting steel into her voice.
"You don't have to be more involved than you already are dear," the woman said gently, as though a doting mother to her, and Penny scowled, "I don't know who you are. A nanny or a babysitter, some poor intern who got dragged into this, but I don't want to hurt you."
"And why not? You seem fine with hurting a five year-old. She hasn't even gone to kindergarten yet! If you think she has any part of the Avengers then you're either insane or stupid. I'm leaning towards the latter."
"Step aside," she said again, a little more sternness in her voice.
"No."
"Step aside."
"She's a kid!"
"She's the daughter of a murderer, and he will feel the same pain I did."
Penny's eyes shifted to the ground, hesitant but sure, she sighed, "Fine."
"What?" The woman sounded beyond surprised.
"Fine! He can feel that pain, but not through Morgan."
"How do you--"
"You think he trusts just anybody with his daughter? Some random nanny after how many people have tried to kill him? And why do you think a teenager would be nannying her? You don't think he'd hire some really professional lady?" Penny ranted, and she could feel Morgan's arms wrap around her leg, squeezing her as she cried. She wished she could comfort her, but if she wanted Morgan to be safe, she had to put all her attention into this.
"What do you mean?" the woman asked, readjusting her glasses and giving her a once over.
"I mean Tony Stark likes me. We've known each other for years and he takes care of me and him and my aunt basically share custody of me. If you--" she swallowed, "If you hurt me, then he'll feel the same pain, but you won't have to hurt Morgan."
"And how do we know this is true?" the man behind the still nameless woman asked. For the first time since they'd arrived, she turned to Morgan.
"Morgan, what are we?" she asked gently, and Morgan sniffed.
"Sisters."
Penny turned back around, point-fucking-proven (even if it was technically a lie), to look at the shocked and calculating faces. After a tense minute, the woman finally reached a conclusion, smiling a little as she looked at her.
"Okay, works for me. We'll send it to Stark, and if what you're saying is true--and you don't fight back--then the kid will be safe. Deal?"
"Deal," Penny agreed without hesitation. They beckoned for her to leave the cell, and she began to move forward, but Morgan continued to clutch onto her harder.
"No! NO! PENNY!! DON'T GO!!" the girl cried, sobbing hysterically, but Penny had to go, she had to keep Morgan safe. Glancing between the impatient faces and Morgan's snot-covered and crying one, she kneeled down, prying the little hands away from her leg as gently as she possibly could.
"It's okay. It's okay, Morggie. Remember what I said about being brave?" A nod, "Good. Just, try and be calm, and it'll be okay. I'll make it okay."
"Promise?"
Penny hesitated, but Morgan's eyes were too wide and too smart and too much exactly like Mr. Stark's, "I promise. Pinky promise."
She held out her pinky, and Morgan accepted, tears still leaking out of her eyes as Penny stood up and stepped out of the small cell, allowing for her hands to be cuffed behind her back. She kept eye contact with Morgan the entire time, trying for a smile and not looking away until she was moving and down the hallway.
She was right about it being an old prison, the walls crumbling stone and covered in frost. She knew it was winter, but wherever they were it was cold. And every step away from Morgan became colder and colder until she was finally led into a room with a singular metal chair and a camera pointed at it.
The next few hours were some of the worst of her life.
Penny was dumped back into her and Morgan's cell the next day, barely aware of the world around her. After their little homemade video in which Penny had done her very best assuring Mr. Stark that Morgan was okay and that she was keeping her safe, she'd been left chained to the chair in the room while they sent it or whatever. She guessed they were just being extra careful about not being found, but it had sucked.
Nothing in this place was particularly comfortable, but that chair and that freezing empty room with the knowledge of Morgan alone barely a hallway over was the worst part of all of it. Yet she didn't want Morgan to see her the way she was right now.
Her arms and hands were coated in red that was dried and sticky, her lips blue and the hair atop her head--so thick and desperately in need of a cut--was still damp and clung to her skin. There were cuts and burns littering her body, and she knew she must look a mess, a true horror to the girl once again crying and pulling at her hair to try and get her to move.
"Penny? Penny, please. Wake up! If-If I have to be brave, you do too!" Morgan practically begged, and she began to stir, forcing herself onto her arms and knees, collapsing onto the barred wall instead. Morgan stared at her, scared and timid.
"It's okay, Morggie. I'm okay, see, I'm right here," Penny tried to assure, "You're doing so good. So good. Just--just be brave for a little longer, okay?"
"How much longer?"
"Not long."
And it wouldn't be. They couldn't stay here. Penny had held them off with the promise of torturing her instead, but these people were crazy, and she knew it was only a matter of time before they moved onto Morgan. The couldn't wait any longer.
The teen didn't even wait a day. She waited until the next morning when they were afforded their stupid sandwiches and water that she would throw out the stupid window if it weren't for the hunger that clawed at her chest.
The woman, different than the short and stout ringleader, approached with their bags of food. Penny was still sitting on the bars, waiting, limp and unsuspecting, until they were close enough. She struck out, grabbing their foot and easily unbalancing them. Quick as a shot, she stood up and punched them through the bars, letting her drop to the floor unconscious.
Morgan yelped in surprise, staring at the woman crumpled on the ground. But then she clapped, "Are we leaving?"
"Yep. We're going home, Mongoose," she affirmed.
"Back to Mommy and Daddy?"
"Back to Mommy and Daddy."
Morgan smiled, and then they were walking down the hallways. Morgan carried the little brown bags of food as they stalked through the hallway, Penny on edge as she escorted them to the door. They managed to not come across anyone, which was good, because Penny doubted she could fight at this point. She was limping and tired to the bone, her right arm swollen and her eye still black. If it came down to it, she'd take someone down, but they needed to get out as quick as possible.
But when they finally found the door, she hesitated. It was freezing, beyond cold. Now don't get her wrong, she knew what cold was like, New York was plenty freezing during the winter, but now she wore nothing but a shirt and jeans, as well as a hoodie wrapped around her waist. And it wasn't just cold, Penny didn't do well in the cold, it was a storm. Penny did doubley worse in a storm.
It wasn't snow that rained down, but freezing sleet and pouring rain that thundered against the slick pavement outside. She gulped. This was bad, but they couldn't stay here. Maybe...maybe she could find a way to contact Tony, but then she'd be caught, and then Morgan would be tortured. And if this was an old prison, then, well, there had to be some kind of society around.
She weighed her chances, and then she weighed Morgan's chances. Outside was better for Morgan but worse for her, so outside it was.
"Are we going out there? It looks scary," Morgan mumbled. Penny knelt down at eye level with her sister.
"I know it does, but we have to go out, okay? We'll find Daddy and Mommy out there."
"Uncle Rhodey too?"
"Especially Uncle Rhodey," Penny affirmed, taking her hoodie and putting it on Morgan, "I'm gonna carry you, can you keep the food safe for me?"
"Yeah!" Morgan said, brightening at the thought of helping.
"Great," she said, picking the girl up with a pained grunt, "Let's go."
The cold, to put it simply, stinked.
It tore at her cuts, burning and freezing. It soaked her to the bone, wrapped her in nothing but frost and ice, making her feel as though she were trapped at the bottom of a lake during winter. And Penny's inability to keep herself warm certainly didn't help. She couldn't shiver and she couldn't warm up, the most she could do was hold Morgan close to her and hope to God that she was as dry and warm as she could possibly be.
Morgan was a trooper though. Barely complaining, only ever asking how long until they were home twice, which was considerable constraint for a five year-old. Apparently the answer to when they'd get home--or at least at a town--was four hours. Four hours of trudging over wet, slushy ground. Four hours of wandering until she found railroad tracks to follow. Four hours until a house finally appeared through the gray storm.
"Morgan, look. A house!" she choked out in relief at the sight of it. She heard Morgan let out a pitiful cry in response, and Penny could do nothing but continue to stumble forward. There were a few more houses surrounding it, but she stuck with the nearest one, ducking between the cars and stumbling onto the porch.
Her vision was hazy as she rang the doorbell, hugging Morgan tighter to her. Due to the late hour it took a few minutes for someone to answer, the door finally being flung open by an old woman, who gaped at them in shock.
"Please..." Penny begged, "2-1-2. 6-5-5. 9-0-0-8. 2-1-2. 6-5-5. 9-0-0-8. 2-1-2. 6-5-5. 9-0-0-8. 2-1-2..."
When Penny passed out, making sure to land on her back and not Morgan, she was still repeating those numbers, mumbling as the woman screamed in surprise. She really hoped she remembered the number.
Tony stared intently at the girl in front of him. She was still pale, even after being in the Medbay for two days, though her cuts and burns had thankfully healed. Hypothermia was the kicker, but he knew she'd push through. She had too.
Morgan had managed to full recover, which made sense. She hadn't been blue when he'd found her, well, when he'd gotten a call in the middle of the night from some lady in Canada saying that two girls had shown up on her doorstep repeating his number. His heart had leapt in joy, in relief. He'd gotten the video of Penny being tortured barely a few hours earlier, and it had been the worst experience of his life.
He'd thrown up, unable to take Penny's cries telling him that Morgan was safe all the while she hadn't been.
His kids being taken had been a truly crippling experience, especially with no contact. He'd begun to break by day five of no contact, and when he'd gotten that video of Penny, he'd almost been relieved, and it made him sick. Whoever had taken Penny, well, he'd been playing right into their hands.
But Penny had escaped, had taken Morgan and run at the first sign of real danger, and he couldn't be more grateful to have one kid in his lap and the other laying in front of him. Though he'd prefer Penny be awake.
Like his thoughts had summoned her, she blinked awake within the next few minutes. Her heart rate picked up as she looked around the room, then calmed down as she caught sight of him. She smiled sleepily.
"Hey, Mr. Stark," she greeted, "Is she okay?"
"She's great. What about you? How are you feeling?"
"Fine. Morgan's safe. She's safe, Mr. Stark."
"I know, Penny. I know," he assured, moving to grip her hand, "And now you're safe too, okay? Even though you walked through -20 degree weather knowing you can't keep warm."
"I thought the cold would get me," she admitted, "But they were going to go for Morgan next. They were going to hurt her."
His hand shook, "They hurt you. And you're my kid too, Penny." She looked at him with wide eyes, so he carried on, "You're my kid, just like Morgan. So please know you gave me a heart attack."
"Oh, I already knew that, Mr. Stark. Not the--not the kid part. But the uh, heart part."
He smiled, shaking his head. Sniffing in disdain, he pressed a kiss to her head, cupping Morgan closer to himself so as to keep her from waking up, "Whatever, kid. Just know that I love you and go back to sleep."
She smiled, and blinking tiredly, she drifted once more.

A/N: Okay so I’m kinda nervous about this chapter! This is the last chapter of Season 1, and I think I’m just going to keep posting without a break so Season 2 will be starting to roll out next week Monday! I also have another fic idea I’m working on so I might be posting two things at once? Or would that get messy? Let me know what you think!
Chapter 8:
Tumblr media
The giant metal doors to the CDC started to open for the group to enter. Rick looks around to his family and the others with a grin before turning around and leading everyone inside. The group follows Rick hesitantly and wary of their surroundings, the kids looking around in curiosity and awe as if they’re on a field trip.
“Who are you people?” a man in a white lab coat asks them, looking at them warily.
“Survivors.” Rick answers simply.
“What do you want?” the man questions again, looking at everyone filing into the large room.
“A chance.” Rick replies, eyeing the man.
“That’s asking an awful lot these days.” he spots Carl and Sophia then his features soften, “you’ll each need to do a blood test, that’s your price of admission.”
Rick nods, “we can do that.”
The man allows the group to enter, introducing himself as Dr. Jenner, the only person in the entire C.D.C. facility. He explains that everyone else either left for home or committed suicide, ‘opted out’ as he put it. He answers the questions the group has for him and looks over to Carl when he voices that he’s starving.
“You know what little man, you’re all free to help yourselves to the food storage just down the hallway.” Dr. Jenner smiles at him as the boy gleems happily.
The others take Dr. Jenner’s offer gratefully, feasting and drinking to their hearts’ content. Everyone but Gloria is happily eating and conversing amongst themselves, although she does pay attention to the conversations and Daryl trying to get Glenn drunk.
“You better not throw up on me.” Gloria says as she pushes him away from her, Glenn always gets clingy when he drinks.
“My baby sister!” Glenn grins as he wraps his arms around Gloria, slurring his words and giggles to himself.
She rolls her eyes and playfully glares at Daryl, “see what you caused?”
Daryl laughs and takes another swig of the large whiskey bottle in his hand. The others laugh, amused at Glenn’s drunken state and Gloria’s failed attempts to get him off of her. As quickly as it started, the mood is killed when Shane continuously questions Dr. Jenner about whether there even is a cure.
“Ugh, you are such a buzzkill.” Glenn groans, now fully leaning on Gloria for support.
“Alright, time for bed, let’s go.” Gloria says as she gets up with Glenn’s arm around her shoulders, supporting him as he isn’t able to even stand up properly.
The rest of the group retreats to wash up and get ready for the night as well. Gloria escorts Glenn to the washrooms where Glenn ends up vomiting in one of the toilets. She pats his back, letting him relieve himself of the alcohol in his system. Once he signals to her that he’s better, Gloria wipes his face with a wet towel, making sure there is no residue on him. She carries him back to the room he had claimed earlier and tucks him into bed where he quickly falls asleep.
“You are so gonna regret this tomorrow.” Gloria chuckles as she takes one last look at her brother, then she leaves to wash up herself.
After Gloria is freshly cleaned up, she retreats to her own claimed room and sits down on the bed, letting out a deep sigh. Being alone, she lets her mind wander back to the past few days, particularly what happened back on the rooftop with Merle. The guilt had been consuming her the more she thought about it. She shouldn’t have ever given him the hacksaw, what was she thinking? It would have never cut through those chains, and knowing how crazy a guy Merle is, she should have seen something like that coming. Now he was missing because of her, Daryl was missing his brother because of her. The sound of the door opening snaps Gloria out of her thoughts as she looks over to the door and sees Daryl peering in, a bottle of alcohol in hand; she wasn’t even sure whether it was the same one from dinner.
“Haven’t you drunk enough for one night?” Gloria teases him, a half smile on her face.
Daryl walks into the room, “there might not be many nights left for us anyway, so why the hell not?” he says as he takes a swig from the bottle.
Gloria nods at that, then looks down to the ground, her thoughts still trying to eat at her. There’s a moment of silence between the two before Daryl clears his throat, purposely loud, snapping her again from her thoughts.
“Wha’s up wit’ ya?” Daryl asks, now leaning against the wall, facing her, “ya din’t eat much, pickin’ at yer food like some kind o’ teenager.”
She scoffs at his words, “nothing, we got shelter now, wouldn’t exactly call this place home, but it’s four walls and a roof. We’re safe for the night, there shouldn’t be anything wrong.”
“Bu’ there is.” Daryl finishes for her.
Gloria looks up at him as he stares back at her, she lets out a deep and heavy sigh, “it’s Merle.” she admits.
Daryl furrows his eyebrows in confusion, not expecting that answer, “wha’ ‘bout him?”
“I feel bad... for what happened to him.” Gloria says, her voice small.
“Ya crazy, girl... ya know you’re the only one who shouldn’ feel bad for wha’ happened? You’re the one who stayed behind wit’ him.” Daryl tried to reason with her, he doesn’t understand why she would feel bad about the situation.
“I should have done more,” Gloria sighs, trying to keep her composure but failing as tears start to fall, “I should have known he would have done something stupid like cutting off his own hand. I gave him the damn saw! That’s on me!”
Daryl watches helplessly as Gloria sobs, wallowing in her own guilt. He’s never been good at comforting people, never knowing what to say or do.
“Merle... he’s...” Daryl tries to think of something, “he’s insane, ya can never predict what he’s gonna do, ya can’t blame yourself for that.”
“I told him to cut the chains...” she says in a whisper, sniffling.
Daryl shuffles on his feet uncomfortably before making up his mind and sits beside Gloria on the bed, he hesitates to put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her to lean on him, “stop blamin’ yerself.”
Gloria shakes her head, “I can’t..”
Daryl pulls away from Gloria at her words and turns her to face him, he looks into her eyes, “I don’ blame ya.” he says, sincerity pure in his voice, “I’m Merle’s blood, his family, and I don’ blame ya. So tell me, what right do ya have to blame yerself?”
She tries to compose herself again, taking deep breaths and nods at Daryl’s words, she sniffles a bit more as she wipes her tears away, “sorry you had to see my like this.” she looks away in embarrassment.
Daryl grunts and looks away from her, wanting her to feel comfortable as she wipes away the last remaining tears from her face. He looks down at the bottle he had placed on the floor then picks it up again, taking another swig from it then offering it to Gloria.
“This should help wit’ all that guilt and shitty feelin’s.” Daryl half smiles at her.
Gloria looks at Daryl then glances at the bottle, and after a moment of contemplation, she grabs the bottle from him and takes a few big gulps. Daryl chuckles as he watches her, she hisses at the burning sensation down her throat.
“Hope yer tolerance is better than yer brother.” Daryl teases, taking the bottle from her and having another swig himself.
“I’m the drinker in my family, ya don’ need to worry ‘bout that.” Gloria giggles as she mocks his accent.
Daryl rolls his eyes at her making fun of his speech. The two of them take turns drinking from the bottle, eventually getting tipsy together. Gloria starts to lean on Daryl, giggling more as the alcohol takes over her.
“Ya wanna know something?” Gloria grins at him, her face close to Daryl’s.
He eyes her carefully, “wha’?”
“You. Are an extremely attractive man, Daryl Dixon.” Gloria says, her eyes never leaving his.
Daryl purses his lips together, then lightly pushes Gloria off him, getting up from the bed but wobbles slightly from the head rush, “ya should sleep, you’re drunk.”
Gloria grabs hold of his hand and tries to pull him back towards her, “Daryl...” she calls, “I want you.”
He scoffs at her, feeling his face flush as her words but tells himself it’s just the alcohol getting to him, to both of them, “Nah, ya don’.”
“Don’t tell me what I want Daryl! I may not know what I want tomorrow, but tonight... I want you!” she looks up at him, “I’ve wanted you for a while now.” she hiccups and shoots him a flirty smile.
“Ya ain’ gonna regret it?” Daryl looks at her, biting his bottom lip.
“What’s there to regret? It’s the end of the world, like you said, there might not be many nights left. What could one night hurt for us?” Gloria uses his own words against him.
He stares at her, his eyes wandering from her eyes to her lips, down to her body. Gloria patiently waits for him to make his next move, her eyes beckoning him to come closer. Daryl looks away then lets out a breath.
“Fuck it.” he breathes, then moves towards Gloria on the bed.
He leans down and catches her lips with his, kissing her roughly, earning a soft moan from her as she wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her as she lies down. Daryl’s hands move down to her waist, caressing her skin underneath her tight black tank top. His tongue licks her bottom lip, asking for entrance which Gloria gladly grants. Their kiss deepens, Gloria is pleasantly surprised at how soft and gentle his kisses could be.
Reluctantly, Daryl pulls away, both of them breathless and panting for air, “ya sure ya wan’ this?”
Gloria smiles up at him, leaning up to peck his lips before answer breathlessly, “yes.”
He smiles down back at her then claims her lips with his again, this time at a more gentle pace. Daryl bites and nips at her lips, then moving down to her neck, leaving marks on her porcelain perfect skin.
The night goes on with endless kisses, skin on skin, full of passion and lust for one another. When the two would wake up in the morning in each other’s arms, they’d blame the alcohol for their choices, but they were both okay with that. Gloria rolls around on the bed and smiles lazily at Daryl who’s already smiling softly at her, playing with her hair, his arm on her waist.
“Morning.” she whispers.
“Mornin’.” Daryl says back, then he sits up, ruffling his hair with his hand.
Gloria stretches as she’s still lying down, she looks over at Daryl who was getting off the bed, putting on his pants but his bare back was facing her, giving her a full view of the scars that littered his skin. Something in her heart broke when she saw those scars, but she knew better than to ask about something so personal even if they did just have sex the night before. Daryl picks up his shirt along with Gloria’s clothes and throws them at her.
“Thanks.” she says from underneath her clothes.
Daryl chuckles at her and puts on his shirt as Gloria starts to get dressed as well.
“Hey, Daryl?” she looks up at him once she’s fully dressed, “I was hoping... you could keep last night just between you and me.”
Her request causes Daryl to frown, “why?” he says in a rather harsh tone, sounding angry.
“I...” Gloria stutters, taken aback by his sudden harsh tone, “nobody needs to know.”
“You’re just embarrassed that ya spent the night with me, ain’t ya? An’ now that ya sobered up, ya regret it, that it?!” Daryl snaps angrily as he paces around the room.
Gloria frowns, “No, Daryl, it’s nothing like that.”
“Bullshit! Tha’s exactly what it is!” he exclaims, getting more worked up as he talks, “ya, the high and mighty doctor of our group, not wantin’ to get caught up wit’ some good for nothin’ redneck!”
Gloria gets up from the bed and puts her hands on Daryl’s shoulder to try and hold him in place to look at her, “Daryl, stop! Will you just shut up and listen to me?”
Still breathing heavily from anger, Daryl glares at her, but waits for her to speak.
“All you had was Merle, right? No sisters?” Gloria asks when she sees that he’s actually willing to listen.
“Wha’s that got to do with anythin'? ” Daryl retorts back.
“It has everything to do with it. You grew up with your brother and you guys might have shared stories about who you slept with because you have that brotherly bond, but it’s not like that when you have a sibling who’s another gender. It gets awkward.” Gloria explains, “I don’t want to know about Glenn’s sex life and I know he doesn’t want to know about mine, so to spare each other the awkwardness, that’s why I asked you to keep it only between us.”
Daryl's breathing calmed down as he registers her words, “sorry...” he says after a moment.
Gloria lets out a small sigh of relief that Daryl finally believes her, she smiles at him, “it’s okay, and by the way,” she leans close to him and whispers into his ear, “you were amazing last night.”
Blushing hard at what she just told him, Daryl scoffs, trying to play off his embarrassment and wraps his arm around Gloria’s shoulders, “ya still drunk, let’s get some food in ya.”
Gloria laughs as Daryl ushers her out of the room and towards the dining table. Glenn was already sitting there but his head was laying on the table, groaning from the pounding headache of his hangover.
“See what you did to him?” Gloria says, playfully eyeing Daryl and he laughs, going off to the kitchen to get some food, she sits beside Glenn and wraps her arm around his shoulders, “you okay, bro?”
Glenn groans in response which causes Gloria to chuckle in amusement. She gets up and heads to the kitchen to get him some breakfast. T-Dog had cooked eggs for everyone so Gloria helped herself to a plate, bringing it to Glenn and also put a bottle of water in front of him.
“Here, eat. It’ll help you feel better.” Gloria nudges him gently, making him sit up.
He looks at her groggily and groans as he starts to eat the eggs, “Ugh, I’m never drinking ever again.”
Gloria pats his back gently in hopes to somehow comfort his throbbing head. When the others have all woken up and had their breakfast, they follow Dr. Jenner into the lab where he shows them the demonstration of their last test subject, TS-19, who he reveals to the group was his late wife. She was the reason he was staying in the building and is the last person left, he had made a promise to her to keep going as far as he could. Unfortunately, he breaks the news to the group that there is no cure for the outbreak. He also tells the group that they don’t have much time left as the place will face total decontamination once the power runs out.
“Total decontamination? What does that even mean?” Carol asks, her voice filled with worry.
“The place is gonna blow... disintegrating everything... nothing left... total and complete decontamination.” Gloria sighs, remembering that this was talked about in one of her classes in university.
Gloria’s explanation causes the others to start panicking, even more so when Dr. Jenner refuses to open the doors, saying he isn’t able to, locking everyone inside. Shane and Rick start to yell at Dr. Jenner to open the doors and let them out as Daryl starts to try and break open the doors with an axe. Thinking as practical as she can, Gloria decides to go back into the food and water storage of the building, grabbing as many bottles and dry food items as she can and stuffs them into her bag, she returns to the room where Daryl is still trying to break open the door, now joined by Shane.
“Those doors are designed to withstand a rocket launcher.” Dr. Jenner says in their futile attempt to break open the doors.
“Yeah,” Daryl says as he goes over to the doctor, axe still in hand, “well yer head ain’t!”
He attempts to swing the axe towards Dr. Jenner only to have Rick, Shane and T-Dog stop him, T-Dog grabbing the axe from him. Gloria goes over to Daryl and puts her hand on his arm to try and calm him. He looks at her and huffs, shrugging her hand off his arm and runs back to the door to continue to try and break it open.
“Dr. Jenner, please, open the door. It’s not fair for you to keep us locked up in here without giving us a choice!” Gloria shouts at him, pleading for the group.
“What’s the point? Wouldn’t you rather die here, painlessly, not feel a thing rather than getting ripped to shreds out there?” Dr. Jenner tries to reason.
“That may be your choice, but that’s not ours! You don’t have the right to make that choice for us, for all of us! You may prefer to go that way, but I don’t!” Gloria shouts, getting more frustrated as Dr. Jenner doesn’t budge.
She lets out a frustrated yell and goes to Shane, grabbing the axe from him and joins Daryl in trying to destroy the door. Both of them continue to try and hack at the door until gunfire is heard as Shane erupts, firing shots into the computers and more of the equipment in the lab. Finally complying, Dr. Jenner presses a button to open the doors; whether it was the group’s pleas or Shane’s gunfire that made him do it, they’ll never know but at least now they have a chance to escape.
“C’mon, let’s go!” Daryl yells as the doors open.
Gloria and Daryl quickly usher the group out of the building, fearing that they won’t make it out in time. The group is stopped by the bulletproof windows surrounding the outside of the building. Glenn, Daryl, Gloria, and T-Dog start throwing anything they can get their hands on to break the windows.
“Look out!” Rick shouts as he approaches the window and lets go of a hand grenade, “everybody down!”
The group looks for anything to take cover as the grenade explodes, shattering the glass and giving them their path to freedom. They all run quickly, jumping out of the building and dashing to their respective cars. Daryl pushes Gloria towards his truck, ushering her to get in and closes the door behind her as he gets in from the other side. They both duck down, waiting for the unmistakable explosion of the C.D.C. Gloria peeks her head out of the window to see the wreckage of the blast, fire, smoke and debris painting the scene. Daryl sits up and starts the truck, seeing the others doing the same. He drives off, following the others to a safer place, a place away from the destroyed C.D.C to regroup and figure out what to do from there.

Next Chapter
Yep! So that happened! I feel like I have to have an explanation for this because this might be really out of character for Daryl for some people. I see Daryl as an emotional drinker, meaning that he acts differently depending on his mood and the people he is with. We saw that with him drinking at the C.D.C., he was happy and excited, but when he was drinking with Beth, he was miserable because of the events that happened prior. So here, I used the alcohol to bring out his caring side as well since he really does care about Gloria and (I reveal this in later chapters) he has a really heavy attraction for her as well. Hope that helps everyone accept what happened in this chapter haha~ and with that, I am done rambling!
I would really appreciate any comments left for me! I’ll be replying to any comments in a new post because this is a sideblog!

Note
What happened with your roomies if you don’t mind me asking...?
Yknow what I’m in a mood and they don’t know my tumblr (haha they think I’m a cisstraight girl lol) so let’s get into some shit. Imma put everything under a read more bc imma rant a bit and this is gonna get long.
TW: food, unsanitary (general things not being kept clean, typically bathroom and kitchen related), drug use, fighting, slurs
tl;dr if you dont feel like reading this beast:
They steal what food i dare leave out in the kitchen rather tan keep in my room
They slam doors excessively, fight, yell horrible things to each other, have friends over yelling at like 2 am (last night for example)
Leave the doors unlocked and open?? We cant even lock the front door anymore??? (Dw the doors to our rooms all have locks. If I’m in my room or out of the house, my door is locked)
Constantly throw around the r slur. Like. All the time. Including one person having called me it. Y i k e s
One person keeps smoking in the house even though i’ve asked numerous times (and even have a note on my door) asking people to please smoke outside, it gives me headaches. You are physically hurting me stop.
Don’t Clean Anything. The kitchen is a wreck. The toilets are constantly clogging, I Am In Hell.
For context: the house is a one story house divided into a main floor and finished basement. It’s a rooming house and the basement is largely seperate from upstairs. (They have a kitchen door that they keep closed and locked.) The stairs to the basement are split into two smaller flights, with a landing in between the floors. That’s where the side door is. The public spaces upstairs are the kitchen (connects to stairs), the hallway, and the two bathrooms (big main one, tiny water closet by the front door). The rest of the upstairs is split into five rooms. For comprehension sake, we’ll call my roommates: The Couple (M&F), A, T, and J.
Mmkay lets start with the least egregious and move our way up, shall we? Theft! Of anything and everything! No one can have anything out in the public areas if they actually care about it. It. Will. Get. Stolen. Now, I have a mini fridge and the second biggest room here, so I’m lucky in that 99% of my groceries, as well as all my other belongings, fit in my room. There’s just a wee problem: I don’t have a freezer. Not to fear, past naïve me thought, I’ll just clean out and use the locked freezer since I still have the keys for that fridge! (We have two fridges and food theft was a problem beforehand and so me and my friend who lived here cleaned out the second fridge to use as our own and kept it locked.) I decided to do this after I had bought myself some ice cream, wrote my name on the top, and put it in the main freezer. I go to have some ice cream later that week, I open the tub for the first time (as in I removed the seal holding the lid onto the tub) to find that someone eaten half the tub of ice cream while making it seem like it hadn’t been opened. I know it happened at home bc the spoon marks were clear as day and I have to walk 20 minutes back from the grocery store. That woulda melted by then (Also I would’ve noticed at the store that. The tub was hella lopsided??? And way too light???) So yea of course I’m ticked now, I spent 6 bucks on that bro like just ask or get ur own??? So I put it the other freezer, and for a while it’s fine. Next month I decide to treat myself to some frozen waffles and some chicken strips and come home to find that the hinges holding the locks onto the doors of the fridge were torn out of the fridge/freezer doors. Like. The screws were pried outta this metal door rendering the locks completely useless (to the point i wouldn’t even be able to put the hinges back on.) And the cherry on top?? My ice cream was gone!!! Hope u enjoyed it, asshole. So whatever. Fine. I put my food away and. a week later?? Im like “Man i could go for some waffles rn”. I bought 2 8 packs. One chocolate chip, one cinnamon (y’all i literally buy the cheapest ones Zehrs sells. 2,19$ a box y’all. not even eggos). Surprise surprise!! The entire box of choccy chip ones GONE. Mind u, i wrote my name on all of these boxes, as well as a very large “DO NOT EAT”. so i begrudgingly had a couple (note that, 2) cinnamon waffles and move on. A couple days later I go to have some more and. The waffles are completely gone. Out of a total of 16 waffles, ya boy got a solid 2. (It’s worth noting that there was a single waffle left, but at 0,27$ a waffle, I didn’t mind leaving the box on the table with a note basically reading “these are cheap af, buy ur own bitch”.) (I didn’t swear that much tho)
I’d add the bike to the list but i can’t confirm nor deny that one of my roommates stole my tires and seat off my bike (although M does work on bikes all the time so man idk.)
Next up: wow people here are l o u d. I’m talking slamming doors all the time, slamming things around, yelling, playing music wildly loud. It’s awful. Like. You can just. Close the door quietly? Stop slamming things around please? It’s awful because loud sudden noises make me panic and lemme tell ya, wakin up at eight am bc your a-hole roommate decided to slam the door eight times bc the front door is broken because someone took the border around the jamb off instead of fixing it so we can actually?? lock that door?? because it doesnt quite fit in the jamb and so the only wat to lock it was the chain lock and. someone took that too so thats fun :)))))). The side door isn’t that much better. We have a code lock and. No One Ever Locks It. Like. I’ll come outta room and?? It’s just open????? Close the door???????????
The worst, however, is the fucking fighting. The Couple love to argue all the time. and yell at each other and slam the doors or smashing shit and they yell pretty awful things to each other. Like. I’ve heard M call his gf some awful shit. It’s worse when they have people over too. The other day there were like. 14 cops in here bc of them at like 2 am. Cue me, 2 am, trying to watch a livestream and seeing like??? Six cop cars pull up????? Wh a t????? Not fun not good for my brain.
God and. What is with everyone and the r slur??? Like what?? there are so many words you can choose stop using that word. Like okay the other night someone?? took the dc adapter for the wireless modem and one of the dudes downstairs as well as the couple were looking to see if they had a compatible dc adapter and so i just decided to wait?? and i just spaced out a bit okay whatever i was lookin at the wall like i do and fuckin. the couple had a couple friends over and one of em was chillin between the kitchen and the hall and M yells out from his room “Hey don’t you feel weird with this creepy ass bitch standing next to you? Like what is she, m*ntally r*tarded?” like wow okay dude i’m literally not doing anything. Luckily his friends reaction was basically “?? She lives here?? She can stand there if she wants??” (wow referring to myself as she feels weird and wrong).
A big problem I have is I feel like theres a community in this house that I just don’t fit into? Part of it is I’m like. the only person here who doesn’t do drugs of any kind?? Like I have nothing against ppl who use drugs like whatever bro, but it feels super othering to me when i can’t relate to anyone here because of it. That and. Getting T in particular but really just anyone but A to respect me asking that if you’re going to smoke anything to do it outside because weed and to a lesser extent cigarette smoke trigger my sensory disorder and causes me pain and causes sensory overload and I still find myself asking people to smoke outside.Like I’ve never been unreasonable and said “no drugs in the house” or some bs. I’m just asking u to respect my disability thanks. And like?? I’ll get into this in a second but there were needles in the toilet?? Bro throw them out properly.
And now: Hell.
Can no one clean up after themselves?? Do your dishes. If theres food left on your plate, throw it out first, don’t dump it in the sink. Seriously the kitchen sink is fucked. The kitchen is gross. The microwave ugh ugh ugh no thanks. No one can clean everything. This is why all my cookware and dishes are in my room. That way I can make sure I 1) Still Own It and 2) Its clean and usable. I clean them as I go and just use my own shit.
Nothing compares to the bathrooms, though. It seems like every other day one of the toilets are clogged. Last week there were spoons in the sink?? Like at least 10 spoons. In the bathroom sink. The floor is dirty because no one owns a mop and?? there was one in the kitchen?? I haven’t seen it in like a month. And the worst of all. Okay, it’s really bad when every one up here is between like. 16 and 19 I think? And I had to put up a sign in the bathroom asking people to flush when you’re done??? And I still have to flush before I can use the washroom???? And it feels like every week or so. The toilet’s clogged. Oh! I forgot to mention that the water closet doesn’t even have a doorknob anymore. Someone took it. But wait, it gets worse. Seriously if extremely unsanitary things bother u, stop reading now.
Twice in the past month I’ve had to contact the landlord because the toilets were beyond clogged. The first time was bad but oh lord nothing compares to the second time (aka last week). The first time was your pretty standard toilet clogs and backs up and its very gross. I contacted the landlord and it was fixed the next day and it was fine. For. Two Days. Im serious. See. People here have a real issue it seems of “The person before me didn’t flush so neither will I”, leading to a toilet bowl full of like. a half a roll of toilet paper and waste. F u n. What that led to was the toilet clogging, people not doing anything about it, and continuing to use it. Eventually the toilet bowl was full, so trow a shopping bag over the lid to mark the toilet as “Out of order” and move on to the other one. Both toilets were completely unusable. I emailed the landlord and i don’t know if either they or one of the people living here contacted them, but the old landlord and old property manager were here the other day to clean them out and fix them?? and yea among all the standard waste you’d expect in a toilet, there were needles? Like buddy theres a trash can right there? I know u had the needle caps bc they were in there too. just... disgusting...
bro this is just what i can think of off the top of my head i know theres more but oh no this is so long now. just. this is a lot more detail than u wanted but i wanted to get this out of my brain??

Sick Day
Tumblr media
Stiles Stillinksi x Reader
Words: 1112
Summary: You have caught the stomach flu, and can barely get out of bed. Lydia leaves Stiles in charge of taking care of you.
Notes: I finally got an idea for a Stiles imagine!!!! Stiles is one of my all-time favorite fictional characters so I am so glad to share that love with all of you.
You felt disgusting. Your hair was a total mess, your shirt had various food stains on it, and you were kneeling in front of the toilet preparing to throw up. You had been getting sick all night long, keeping your roommate, Lydia, up as well. As much as she wanted to stay and take care of you, she had to get to her summer classes.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay? I can just call in sick and we can watch movies all day long.” She insisted, but you shook your head, resting it against the bathroom wall.
“I’ll be fine, Lydia. Really. It’s just a stomach bug.” The bile rose up into your throat and you wretched it into the toilet.
“I’m calling Stiles.” She sighed and pulled out her cell phone.
“Lydia, don’t you dare!” You crawled towards her but immediately recoiled as your stomach jerked. The other side rang for a few moments before a groggy voice answered.
“McCall and Stilinski, saving damsels in distress since 3rd grade, how can I help you?” Stiles sat up, running his hands through his mess of hair.
“Are you busy today? Y/N’s sick, and I have my college credit classes today. I don’t want to leave her here alone.” Her tone was frantic and Stiles could hear someone groan in the background. “Please, Stiles?” He decided to play it cool, even though his heart was leaping with excitement. He’d be spending the day, alone, with Y/N. Even if she was sick, it would still be a chance for him to get his feelings for her out there.
“I’ll be right over.” He leaped out of bed, throwing on his favorite T-shirt and some jeans he found on the floor. He stood in front of the bathroom mirror, trying to get his hair into place and Scott popped his head in the door.
“Where are you going?” He leaned against the doorframe, smirking at his best friend.
“Y/N’s sick,” Stiles mumbled through the toothbrush in his mouth, toothpaste dribbling down his chin. “and Lydia can’t take care of her cause she has classes today.”
“So you’re going to go over there and hold her hair while she throws up?” Scott snickered. “Very romantic.” Stiles spit out the toothpaste and glared at Scott.
“This isn’t about romance. A friend needs my help, that’s all.”
“Uh huh.” Scott nodded sarcastically and left for his shift at the vet. Stiles stared at his reflection, still trying to make his hair at least semi-decent.
“Come on Stilinski,” he muttered to himself. “You’re just going to take care of a sick friend. Who happens to be the girl you’ve been in love with for the past twelve years. It’s no big deal.”
It was a big deal. Standing in front of your door, Stiles realized that the last time he took care of someone by himself, he chained his best friend to a heater. Before he could knock on the door, Lydia swung it open.
“Thank god.” She yanked him into the apartment, dragging him around and showing him where everything was. “Here’s the kitchen; crackers and Gatorade are over there. Bathroom.” She stopped him in front of a closed door. “This is Y/N’s room. She finally fell asleep, so don’t wake her up. If she gets sick again, just… be there for her okay? I think what she needs right now is to not feel as disgusting as she looks.” Lydia snickered. She pulled him back to the living room, grabbing her keys. “I’ll be back around two o’clock. The Netflix password is by the TV!” She rushed out of the apartment and Stiles plopped down on the couch, his gaze flashing to the closed door down the hall.
He took advantage of the flatscreen and started watching some teen drama show you and Lydia had started together. It was cheesy and overly dramatic, but he was quickly intrigued and attached to the characters. He nearly fell off the couch when his eyes flickered to the hall and saw you standing there, your hair put into a messy bun and your eyes had dark rings under them.
“Hi.” He greeted in surprise. You gave him a half wave of the hand before taking a seat in the chair across from him. Two characters appeared on the screen and you growled. “What?”
“She should’ve gotten with Dorian.” You mumbled.
“I totally agree!” Stiles exclaimed. “This Steven guy is a creep. Sure he was nice at first, but when Carter came along and made him go all freaky, Dorian was the obvious choice.” You gave him a small smile. “Are you feeling better?”
“A little.” You replied. When the episode ended, you grabbed a couple crackers and ate them slowly. If there was one thing you hated to most about being sick, it was the food you could eat- or lack thereof. “You really don’t need to be here.”
“Hey, I’ve got nothing else going on.” He shrugged. “Besides, we haven’t been able to hang out in a while.” He was right. The two of you used to be inseparable, but between your job and his FBI training, you two had barely seen each other for the past month.
“I just wish I wasn’t throwing up half the time.” You muttered. As if on cue, you felt that dreadful churn in your stomach and groaned. You sprinted back into the bathroom and fell to the floor, hearing Stiles’ running footsteps behind you. Vomit burned your throat as you threw up, feeling someone’s hands pull your hair out of your face.
Stiles rubbed soothing circles on your back, grimacing as you wretched again. When your stomach settled, you sat back, leaning against the wall as Stiles handed you a tissue to wipe off your mouth.
“I’m sorry.” You sighed.
“You don’t need to apologize for being sick, Y/N.” He traced a line down your nose with his finger, looking at you intensely. “God, you’re still beautiful even when you’re sick.” You looked down, feeling the blush rush to your pale face, bringing a little color back.
“Shut up.” You shifted and he sat against the wall next to you. You would never understand him. Here you were, in your old sweats, messy hair, and throwing your guts up, and Stiles was telling you you were beautiful.
“I’m serious, Y/N.” If you weren’t sitting on your bathroom floor, the taste of vomit still in your mouth, you might have kissed him. Instead, you just smiled, letting him scoop you up in his arms and carry you back out to the living room.

Miss Right - Part 2
Tumblr media
Description: After losing her mother in a horrible car accident, Hani had to make sure to get by on her own. Without a home or a job a long gone friend appears right before eyes when she needs it the most and a turn of events take place when she finds herself working for one of Koreas biggest fashion chains EcoFashion. But what happens when a big secret comes out and her hot and very intriguing boss Mr. Kim owes her a favor?
Pairing: Kim Namjoon X Ahn Hani
Words: 1625
"I got the job!" I called from the kitchen. Ehbyun walked in with a guy, their arms around each other.
"Seriously? Congratulations!" she said.
"Thank you! And you are?" He reached out his hand and I took it.
"Kyungwon"
"Nice to meet you"
"Wow, a cleaning job. Not bad" Ehbyun teased.
"Ha ha, very funny. At least I will be working everyday not just weekends."
"Yeah yeah, but I get paid by the hour" Soon Kyungwon left and Ehbyun sat down beside me smiling.
"Was he just a one time thing too?" I asked with an eyebrow raised. She chuckled.
"Hm, yes."
"Why? He looked like a nice guy. Cute." I said looking down at my ring.
"Why do you always wear that? I haven't seen you taking it off even once. I have a lot of jewelry if you want to borrow."
"No, my mother gave it to me. She died five years ago."
"What? I didn't know that. I'm sorry" she said reaching and taking my hand in hers squeezing it tightly.
"It's okay." I said feeling a lump building up in my throat. I really missed her.
Just as I exited the elevator on the top floor a beautiful woman walked past me into it. Her clothes looked expensive, her hair all up in a perfect bun. She pressed a button looking up at me. I turned around and continued walking towards the secretary generals office. It was at the end of the corridor. I knocked and heard someone calling. I opened the door to a pretty gray room. Like, most of the things were in a gray color. A man sat behind a glass table. He looked up with a smile and stood up. I walked up to him. We shook hands and he told me to sit down. The man was like in his 30′s, suit, glasses and slicked back hair. After giving me all the information and tasks I walked up to my station. It was a room, no, more like a small kitchen. A girl was struggling to get out something from the supply room at the side. I held the door open for her and she got a cleaning trolley out.
"Thanks" she said and dried the sweat from her forehead.
"Hi, I'm Ahn Hani. I'll start working here from today. Are you part of the cleaning staff?"
"Oh, yes. I'm Soo Yuri. Nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too"
"You can start scrubbing the toilets."
"Oh, okay, sure"
"I will start cleaning the first floor by the lobby"
"Okay" My work was going great until a few hours later the employees started to ask for coffee. Like, a lot of them, I had to write it down. I walked across the street and entered the coffee shop. It smelled wonderful. I rambled all the list to the tall guy behind the counter. It took him fifteen minutes before I could walk back with everything. As I got up to the top floor, everyone was reaching out to get their coffee. Then I started cleaning again.
After a few hours I was done. I put the cleaning trolley back in its place before locking and heading to the elevator. A tall man stood next to me. It was him. The man I had seen on the morning of my interview. His face was still serious and he looked like he could kill someone with just a glance. The elevator finally came and we stepped inside. He pushed the button to the bottom floor. As the elevator stopped and the doors opened a woman stood right outside smiling. It was the woman from this morning. I walked past her, looking back as she gave the man a hug. His lips were just a line. I was about to walk outside when I got a text message. I picked up my phone as I heard the couples conversation behind me.
"Namjoonie, why are you-?”
"Don't call me that" he cut her off frowning but the woman continued. I looked back. He looked even more angry than before. What was wrong with him? Being so mean to, what looked like, his girlfriend.
"Namjoonie, please take me home?" she continued holding a hand against his chest, swaying her body side to side. He nodded and continued his way out of the tall building. I turned away from them, letting both of them pass me. A black car stood parked outside the entrance waiting for them. The driver of the car, a middle-aged man, opened the door for them. They sat down before the driver drove away. I put down my phone after answering the message from Ehbyun and continued my way home thinking they were probably highly put employees or even the bosses or something.
I was first to arrive with the security guards. I took the cleaning trolley and went up to the top floor. As I cleaned the employees dropped in one after another. It wasn't even lunch yet before they started rabbling up coffee orders. Like I was their made or something. Anyway, I wrote it all down and brought them their orders before continuing my job. Gosh, it was really tiring and my feet hurt like hell. I sat down in the small kitchen to have my lunch break when Yuri walked in and puffed out. She sat down in front of me and laid her head on the table.
"I'm not sure I can make it till four o'clock." she said and her shoulders sank.
"It's just four hours left" I said, trying to encourage her.
"Yeah, four hours of hell" she said looking up towards the cleaning trolley. She turned to me again. "I saw you buy coffee to the others earlier. Can't you buy me some too?"
"Uh, I guess. What do you want?"
"Oh thanks! Just a soy latte" I nodded and ate up the rest of my food before going to get her coffee. At least I didn't have to pay for it all. Yuri was sitting in the exact same place, with her feet on the table, when I got back. Her face lit up when she saw me.
"Ya! Thank you Hani! I'll go back to work once I finish this, okay?" I nodded and continued cleaning on the top floor. I was just about to enter one of the offices. I had never cleaned there before. The receptionist stood up and stopped me.
"Mr. Kim is inside right now and does not want to be disturbed." she said with a quite loud voice.
"Oh, I'm sorry" I said and was just about to turn when the door opened. The tall handsome man stood on front of me, the one I had seen so many times before through the days. His piercing eyes looked at me up and down. I shook my head and backed away so he could pass.
"Miss Lee, please take care of all my calls. I'll be back in an hour." he said with a deep voice which left me with an open mouth. It was so deep and it sent chills down my spine. Miss Lee bowed before he walked towards the elevator. I bowed too until miss Lee cleared her throat.
"You can clean now miss" she said and I turned to her.
"Oh, yeah" I walked inside which seemed to be a big office. There was just a black desk in the middle and a black bookshelf across the wall to the right. The windows were big and let in a lot of light.
"Oh, you're here?" I heard someone say and turned around to see Yuri stand by the door.
"Yeah" she walked inside with a cloth.
"It's better if we both clean here anyway"
"Oh yeah? Why?"
"This is Mr. Kims office. Our boss."
"Really?" Yuri nodded.
"But he is a real pain for such a handsome face, unfortunately. If he could be nicer he would be a ten out of ten for sure. Rich, handsome and tall. I really like tall men"
---
Time went by so slowly. It always did. At least I had gotten to know everything better and it got a lot easier. I knew exactly what to do at what time. When to clean the toilets, when to buy the employees coffee and what they wanted (still had a note, incase I'd forget), when to clean and where without disturbing. After delivering everybody’s coffee I continued cleaning the top floor. The first office, the secretary generals office. Little did I know, that would change the lives of many people, including mine. I knew the secretary general, Mr. Young, always went to lunch at 12 o'clock on point. Always. So I just walked inside without knocking and there I saw, on his desk, Mr. Young and Miss. Ci, Mr. Kims fiancée, in each others arms, kissing. I was just going to apologize and maybe close the door but I didn’t get far as I only walked into someone with my back to a chest, someone was behind me. I looked back and my eyes widened. Mr. Kim was standing right behind me watching the charade going on upon the desk. Miss. Ci looked up shocked.
"Namjoonie..." she started but couldn't say anymore.
"Namjoon we..." Mr. Young started but was cut off.
"I just wanted to let you know about the meeting being cancelled for tomorrow. And I'd appreciate it if these things didn't occur in the company from now on." Mr. Kim said with a stern voice before returning towards his office. I stood in chock, not knowing what to do. I quickly snapped out of it and closed the door before leaving. This wasn't good...
