rest in peace chad mcqueen :-( dutch was a character we all wanted to see return and he left such a legacy playing the most menacing of all the cobras. he WILL be missed and his presence lives on as long as his character will! 🕊️

Very interesting article from Rolling Stone with the "Cobra Kai" writers and Ralph as they revealed a lot of things that almost happened in this final season and more. I'm tagging spoilers but I guess most of these aren't since things didn't work out, but there are some spoilers in the actual article and I'm posting some for the new movie.

First, Chad McQueen was going to come back as Dutch for a scene towards the end of season 6. Sadly, he got sick so the scene was scrapped, and that illness is what he ended up dying from.

They also asked Hilary Swank to appear in season 6 as part of the storyline with Mr. Miyagi's past but she turned them down. They said some fans comments about her being a part of this was right as that was the original plan and to have Julie and Daniel's relationship with each other explored too. They're hoping maybe she'll change her mind if some of the spinoffs they have planned go ahead.

They also confirmed the new "Karate Kid: Legends" movie is connected to "Cobra Kai" and the writers got to see the script and give notes. Ralph confirmed again it takes place 3 years after "Cobra Kai" ends and it's the same Daniel that was in the show.

Ralph also teased there might be other "Karate Kid/Cobra Kai" actors/characters in the movie. The writers have no idea who it is as it wasn't in the draft script they got. This goes along with Billy being asked about if Johnny has a cameo in it at a con and he was cagey about it too, so does seem at least Johnny likely does.

Then spinoffs are in the works and we'll have to wait and see if Netflix picks any up.

Extremely saddened to hear of Chad McQueen's passing. I desperately hope his family is managing and that they are allowed the privacy they deserve during this time. That said, Chad McQueen has a place in my heart the same as many of us Karate Kid fans, and the character he portrayed will always be my favorite minor character in the franchise.

We love you, Dutch, and we love you, Chad McQueen. I thank the man for all he's done and the positive impacts he's made, and wherever he is now, I hope the cars are bitchin'

Guys its with a heavy heart that I have to post that Chad McQueen, the actor of Dutch from Karte Kid one, has sadly passed away. His death was announced by his kids and wife on Instagram just a few minutes ago.

Very sad that we never got to see Dutch again in the franchise.

Send much love to his family as they mourn.
