Ghost Doctor KDrama
Doctor Lee and Doctor Oh sat at a cafeteria table, happily chatting over the books he was lending her as a new cardiology resident.
Koh SeungTak leered at them from around a corner.
“Why can’t I ever get you for lunch?… Since when did he like anybody?” He mumbled to himself, looking like a wet dog in the rain despite being dry and also not a dog.
“Koh SeungTak!” Cha YoungMin annunciated suddenly behind the younger doctor.
Koh SeungTak startled and whirled around. Cha YoungMin suppressed a smile at the sight of those wide eyes.
“So this is what you’ve been doing instead of attending my surgery?”
Koh SeungTak whipped his head around to the maybe—better not be—couple then the dark windows and back, “ah… hahaha, I guess I lost track of time?” He treated the other doctor to his sunny smile of dimples. It must have been a very slow day if three of the cardiologists could slack off.
“100 squat reps.”
“What!? Noooo!”
Cha YoungMin began turning as the other whined, but it wasn’t the senior who had that upper hand.
“I lost track of time, so I didn’t eat lunch.” Cha YoungMin spun on his heel as Koh SeungTak continued with his trump card. “Yeah, and wow, it’s so dark out! I guess the cafeteria has been closed for a while….”
It was the beginning of winter so whilst it would have been a good point five months ago, there was no cut-off from food in the hospital, never mind the little cafés around inside or shops outside. But that escaped Cha YoungMin.
“What!?” He shouted and got the studying pair’s attention this time as he grabbed Koh SeungTak’s shoulder sleeve.
“Hehe-wah!”
Crystal watched as Cha YoungMin whisked Koh SeungTak away. She sighed at their antics and wondered, not for the first time, how Jang SeJin could have such a high tolerance for them—then again, she’d had a pretty bratty half-brother and had braved whatever America had to throw at her.
Doctor Lee leant in, “doesn’t it ever bother you?”
“Hah?” She turned back to her avid study-buddy.
“You know…” he gestured towards where the curious pair had disappeared to, “what’s going on between them. You know… I thought you and Koh SeungTak were… you know.”
She stared blankly at him because, frankly, she relished making others squirm. Doctor Lee didn’t disappoint.
“I-I’m sorry, I assumed… sorry. Just forget it. I’m sorry.”
She chuckled and leaned in herself, “maybe we are but I’m waiting for him to say something.” She let it settle in, his eyes widening and somehow seeming a bit proud. “But if you tell anyone, I’ll beat you up!”
He flinched when she raised her hand. At that, she turned back to their, mostly her, studies. If Doctor Oh the Senior was still around, he’d appear in the body of his favorite cleaning lady to give some advice about love that could actually go horribly wrong if one interpreted it incorrectly.
Eight floors up, in Jang SeJin’s ninth floor office, Cha YoungMin excitedly barged in on the neurosurgeon with a whining Koh SeungTak by all the layers of cloth the poor man had on his shoulder.
“Sweetie,” was all the other doctor said, in English and lyrically, as she turned the digital page of a new scientific article.
“Honey!” Cha YoungMin paused to return with the same energy before finally letting the poor resident go in order to drag somethings from the fridge.
“Whaaaa!” Koh SeungTak drawled at the two stacked lunch boxes were pulled out. “This is your cooking?”
A smile took Cha YoungMin by surprise at the eagerness of the other doctor despite how often the exchange had already happened. The soft moment lasted before he remembered himself. “Jang SeJin, I made tofu and omelette again for you. You haven’t had lunch either, have you?”
That made her put her tablet down, “neither did you, with surgery.”
“Yes, but, that’s surgery!”
I just want a poly for them🥹. If you know a fic, pls lemme know

Whomst Reviews: Ghost Doctor
(For those of you Kdrama Tumblrites who haven’t seen this masterpiece yet)
So you know how you watched an episode of Gray’s Anatomy and thought, this would be better if it was gayer and had more ghosts?
Have I got the show for YOU
Episode 1 Recap:
Once upon a time, there was a grumpy introvert heart surgeon named Cha Youngmin. He’s out here in his fancy little suits existing day to day for his work, being That Bitch to everyone to avoid feeling things, just him and his sugar glider son Man Du against the world.
Enter: one (1) naive but pure-hearted rich boy twink named Go Seungtak who loves drinking fancy coffee, showering people with gifts, taking naps, and avoiding real responsibility due to trauma-related anxiety and depression issues (so this is my drama debut tbh)
Necessarily, they clash! Bc Seungtak is the hospital foundation heir, his grandfather has decided that in order to manage the hospital, Seungtak should become a surgeon instead of using his MBA to manage things (not quite following the logic here but sure), and Youngmin, as an esteemed (if disliked) surgeon and all-around girlboss, does Not Like That.
Seungtak immediately falls in love becomes fascinated with Youngmin’s personality and impressed by his skills, and follows him around like the puppy-brained little shit he is.
Unfortunately, as Youngmin simultaneously decides to make “tormenting Seungtak” his whole personality, this leads to a sad Puppy being first humiliated during a surgery then exiled to ER work. Mondays, bro.
It’s the first warning we see that Youngmin can allow his emotions to sway his judgment (you know, that thing he bitches at everyone about doing? yeah), because:
1.) he let a first-year resident help with an operation on his first day at work,
2.) he immediately jumps to conclusions and publicly berates that resident for failures instead of assessing what went wrong, and
3.) he’s assigned as Seungtak’s mentor but jettisons him asap the next day after Seungtak witnesses him arguing with his ex (more on her in a sec)
It’s hard to say what would have become of the pair if not for a series of unfortunate and premeditated events brought to us by Hospital Mean Girl Han Seungwon and Corporate Asshat Jang Minho, and liberally edited by Bitch-Ass-Liar An Taehyeon.
The grandpa-style chairman of a corporation thingy goes in for surgery that Youngmin is initially reluctant to try, as it has a low chance of success and would not give him much more time. We see multiple times that Youngmin will give up on a risky patient rather than spend extra money for what he assumes/judges to be futile efforts. However! Then his ex SeJin shows up, and surprise she’s the daughter of said chairman, who left Korea and now works in Seattle as a neurosurgeon at Seattle Grace Hospital
Having researched her dad’s condition, she doesn’t want Youngmin to do the surgery either; so naturally, Youngmin decides to do the surgery.
This is ultimately what sets everything else into motion. The chairman’s surgery is an initial success, but then Youngmin gets a text from SeJin and leaves his resting patient behind (we are told that a surgeon is supposed to stay and monitor the patient until they wake up).
Next thing we know, Youngmin has been in an accident:( and he’s having an out of body experience. We are talking full Patrick Swayze here. He gets rushed to his own hospital.
Who’s available in the ER to assess the patient? Yep, Youngmin’s played himself here, because Seungtak is on duty. Ghost Youngmin screams a lot at people who can’t hear him, realizes that he can’t touch anything in the physical world and thus can’t save himself with his ghost body, and cycles through stages of grief like he’s doing the Tour de France. Oops.
After assessment, Seungtak takes him to the ER so some surgeon can perform a cardiac tamponade surgery—except the surgeons aren’t answering their phones. Like, none of them. What the hell is going on in this hospital??
So then our brave little toaster Takkie decides to pick up the scalpel himself, despite being visibly panicked. Youngmin, an eternal micromanager, automatically reaches to correct Seungtak’s grip and possesses him instead.
We end the episode with Youngmin doing surgery on himself??

*bursts back in the room after being gone like two minutes* anD ANOTHER THING
Ummm Youngmin’s face?? This time I’m not even talking about the Soft Look in the first gif, which is my own personal catnip on rainy days, nope. No I’m talking about the bewilderment of getting surprise hugs, genuine playful affection, just fully lovebombed by this intrepid twink puppy.
We don’t know much about Cha Youngmin’s early days—just that he was poor, hardworking, and secretly lived for Acts of Service love language with Sejin, who may have been his only person at all. And then she was gone—not her fault, which he couldn’t have known and she couldn’t have explained—and that left Youngmin the intern lonelier and more closed off than ever.
By the time we meet him as Professor Cha, he’s practically robotic, the ice prince of the hospital. He’s mean to his ex girlfriend SeJin (it’s been like 10 years, my dude) and bullies a new resident based on minimal interactions with both. Even as a coma ghost, he’s closed off and callous—he sees people care for his comatose body and finds things to complain about, he doesn’t think twice about possessing and terrifying some kid he worked with for all of two days, etc. you kinda see why he’s so unpopular, a la Scrooge.
Except.
Except the day before he became a coma ghost, this fucker named Go Seungtak showed up, grabbed Youngmin’s hand to shake when they meet, called him an asshole and a genius in the same breath, smiled no matter what Professor Cha throws at him, let the coma ghost Youngmin possess him with minimal complaint, was the one person to try to save Youngmin in surgery…
Seungtak hugs him like a lost baby chick returned to the nest the second Youngmin wakes up and is himself. It’s so beautiful and it’s the story underlying the main story: that in your worst circumstances, you learn who your friends really are. Even as Sejin is struggling with her dying father, she’s taking care of Youngmin and talking to him. Seungtak molds his entire life around saving Youngmin, and here is just so happy and openly affectionate with him, and the look on Youngmin’s face here is so unguarded for a moment because he has no idea what to do with that, with this honest, sweet kid who cares so openly for him. With his people that have been here for his curmudgeonly ass.
Look. I ship these two bitches with each other and ship SeJin with myself, and that’s my business. But regardless of whether you see them as bros or a couple, the bonding between the two of them is healing. Finally someone’s doing actual healing work around this hospital.

The fact that there are NO kisses in ghost doctor is the fact that makes it most sus to me. Like isn't this supposed to be a heterosexual rom-com? And one of the couple apparently even ends up together. So why is there no kiss? What is the reason for that choice???
#idk man#some of the gazes and dialogue seems just a little too sus to be considered straight#but then they come in with the straight bs#but its not even PROPER straight bs#its kinda halfdone#and im like ????#ghost doctor#tvn ghost doctor#ko seungtak#go seung tak#cha youngmin#cha young min

Title: you and me (within these walls)
Author: BreakFreeKillerQueen
Fandom: Ghost Doctor (Korea TV)
Pairing: Cha Youngmin/Ko Seungtak
Rated: Explicit
Summary:
Dr. Cha Youngmin and Dr. Ko Seungtak have a unique, but private, relationship. Sure, they study, but the hospital would be shocked to know exactly what they’re studying.
Notes:
This was as much of a surprise to me as it is to you. I know I said I wouldn’t write smut for these two again but…this happened. They simply demanded it of me.
This fic is set post-coma in an AU where Dr. Jang returns to the US and stays there. Youngmin and Seungtak share an office and are in a secret relationship. Dr. Cha is still, officially, Dr. Ko’s professor and mentor.
See if you can guess which euphoria scene inspired this lmao
Title comes from Rewrite The Stars by Zac Efron and Zendaya

If I were Jang Sejin listening Go Seungtak talk about professor Cha the way he does I would definitely think babyboy had a one-sided deep romantic love. Cha Youngmin is out there, possessing his body and making him sound madly in love
#😭😭😭#The whole yeah I used to come to this house a lot he brought me to this store to give me new clothes yeah you made him very sad#It sounds like someone seeing the person he loves in love with someone else#But like if it was professor Cha saying that stuff it sounds like a love confession to her but since it's coming ou of seungtak's mouth#It sounds like a grudge a whole I'm taking care of you because I couldn't stand to see him hurt any more for your sake#Ghost doctor#lily watches recordings of acting#kdrama#text post

“Let’s save the patient first” Bing’s suggestion
Kim Bum knew of Jung Ji-hoon's existence from the moment he was transported to the hospital in a car accident.
In tvN's 'Ghost Doctor', which was broadcast on the 11th, Young-min (Jung Ji-hoon) was drawn astonished by the secret of Seung-tak (Kim Beom).
Earlier, Young-min was in danger of disappearing after leaving the hospital in the power of Seung-tak, but with Seung-tak's help, he overcame the crisis.
Seung-tak, who was aware of the ghost's existence, once again possessed Young-min to save a patient he met by chance on the road.
After saving the patient, Young-min came out of Seung-tak's body and asked, "Do you know who I am?", but Seung-tak did not respond. Seeing Seungtak like that, Youngmin said, “What are you doing now? Why are you so carefree? Aren't you afraid of this situation?" he said, bewildered.
Tess (Sung Dong-il) told Young-min, who returned safely to the hospital, "That's why I said life is better even if I roll the shit. Looking at that face, I can see that something happened,” he said with a laugh.
Youngmin asked, “Why didn’t you tell me?” Tess said, “I didn’t know you were going out like that. I'm not the kind of person who will listen to me if I tell you in advance. Still, I didn’t go, and I came back eagerly.”
“The boy held out his hand first. come in In response to Youngmin's confession, "Let's come in and save the patient," he said, "Well, it came and went like that, but it's strange that that smart guy doesn't know that. That little boy is a lifesaver. It seems like the two of you are closely related.”
Meanwhile, on the same day, Young-min went to Tae-hyeon (Ko Sang-ho) while possessing Seung-tak and urged him to reveal the truth.
I also learned the sincerity of Sejin (Uee). Sejin, who is not aware of the ghost's existence, tells Youngmin, who is in a coma, "I think something complicated is happening. But let's wake up first. You have to wake up to solve it. i will save you So give me strength too. Is that so?” he pleaded with tears. At this, Youngmin felt complicated emotions.
In the midst of this, Tae-hyeon entrusts Seung-tak with a difficult operation, and when Tae-hyun accepts this, Young-min says, "I can't go into you anymore. So, cancel it now.”
But all of this is a monk's trap. Moreover, Seung-tak surprised Young-min with an appeal, "Let's save the patient first, Mr. Cha Young-min." Seung-tak saw Young-min's existence from the moment he was transported to the hospital in a car accident. The development of 'Ghost Doctor' has reached an early turning point.
