Dear friends, just a note to say... dress warmly, eat well, stay safe and sound, keep smiling, I’m always there for you. 

2022 was a really great year for me on here, I’ve made more friends than i ever could have expected, and had so many wonderful interactions with people in my askbox and beyond. Stray kids have brought me so much joy, only amplified by the kindness I have received from all of you. I am so grateful for all you have given me, especially the love and support you have shared. Hiii local, friendly Feminist here!! To all the people labelling this manhwa as some sort of new wave feminist revisionist discourse masterpiece, I would like to say that it CAN'T be anything along those lines or even any variation of a broken feminist narrative because Feminism isn't a women's cause, it's a societal cause. Patriarchy isn't restricted to men or is singularly imbibed in men but is a system that anyone, even women can exploit. Duna, so far in her actions, has been extremely pro-patriarchal or reverse-patriarchal (which is not Feminist either), judging Minho's capacity by his penis size, chiding him for having masochistic tendencies, mocking him for not being the typical alpha male like Cha Wookyung, reducing him to his body, looks, fetishising and objectifying him and not even beginning to consider the possibility of him having any semblance of mental health that she might be actively affecting and bringing to ruin. Because let's be real, at no point does Duna go like oh, this man is clearly suffering from an inferiority complex from having all the women in life ridicule him for his alleged erectile dysfunction, the men bullying him because of his humble (read: poor) background and not so highly paying occupation as an adjunct, the nepotism he faces at work (let's be real, what fucking Dean in real life demands a published, popular "book" in exchange of a professorial tenure while saying "just like Duna did" even though that woman wasn't even stable enough to finish her major, while ALSO licking the boots of Cha Wookyung, the biggest daddy's tittie weaning, silver spoon bastard next to someone who actually worked hard on their degree, struggled to pay their tuition to the top and is still grinding no matter what WHILE ALSO giving an easy tenureship to foreign graduates because idk, their shit tastes sweeter? Like c'mon). Let's take Haesol, the male love interest who is supposed to be our "not like other men", who is skinny and young but is still essentially portrayed as someone who is comfortable in their sexuality because obviously no one sees his body and goes "oh you're definitely an alpha male" like they do with Minho, he also essentially has a large penis (not my words, author's), is better because he can sexually satisfy Duna? and ALSO bullies Byun Minho based on his income and sexual capacities, eventually going on to rape him along with Duna because ig being an ideal man means being a simp, having no spine or sense of right or wrong independent of your partner's whims.

Cha Wookyung is already a masterclass in patriarchal supremacy, a man fed off not by own talents but by his rich father's resources, withering his life away on deriving sad, sexual pleasure from raping, breaking and brutalising men (even though he's bisexual lol. Great bi representation right there). Let's also not forget that Duna is written AS A MAN. Essentially, a womanchild who drinks, swears, smokes, works, doesn't face any repercussions to her actions, cannot cook or clean and hence is entitled to come home to any variant of a malewife who she can rape, force to enact her twisted (non-consensual) fantasies and expect to clean and cook for her all because she makes some bucks outside the house and also she'll die if no one is constantly taking care of her, because self dependent women can't be strong feminist women icons I'm guessing. Lastly, rape is such a serious concept, it is the exploitation of a power dynamic mental or physical to sexually assault a person, it comes only in the top echelons of discussions that need to be had in regards to gender based discrimination and violence, IT IS NOT RESTRICTED TO THE FEMALE EXPERIENCE! When a woman rapes a man and he says no or doesn't fight back for whatever reason she is gaslighting him for even if he's physically stronger, SHE IS A RAPIST and is typically doing what any male rapist would do to a woman. DO NOT DEFEND A RAPIST OR AUGMENT THEIR STORY WITH THE SOCIAL MOVEMENT CALLED FEMINISM. It stands against ALL gender based violence, prejudice and discrimination, IT STANDS FOR EQUALITY!! If you're doing to men what rapists do to women, you are NOT A HERO, YOU ARE A CRIMINAL AND YOU NEED TO BE BEHIND BARS.

If Feminism doesn't exist in a society where women are raped, forced to work at home and are seen as nothing outside of their tits and supposed sexuality then Feminism also doesn't exist in a society where men are raped, forced to work at home and are humiliated based off on their sexual preferences and physical appearances. NO HUMAN BEING DESERVES TO BE SUBJUGATED AND TREATED LIKE A PIECE OF FLESH SO THAT THE ABUSER CAN FEEL SUPERIOR. I will die before I let people consider this piece of shit manhwa some sort of Feminist outrage story. Because it's not, and there's no "but that's what I think about it-" unless you're talking about something that is NOT Feminism. it's a rape story, pure and simple, something that the author tried to paint as some sort of contemporary, Feminist magnum opus and failed on all counts of her ambitious portrayal of feminism, LGBTQIA and bdsm. The catharsis that you, man, woman, non-binary whatever, may feel from watching a man being brutalised is incidental and frankly speaking, your own personal problem, don't put it behind the purview of feminism literature. Feminism doesn't deserve this.

. All of Lee Minho’s previous characters are very independent to me, I do not at any point view them as lee Minho and in my head they exist as the character name. I’m starting a thread to talk about each of the characters in separate posts.

Ignoring Cha Gong Cha and Heo Mo Seh because I haven’t finished Run mackerel and I am Sam and will address them when I am done

Let’s start from the top.

Gu jun Pyo

One of the most iconic characters in my point of view. Not only did we get a careless bad boy aesthetic, we got mad visuals and amazing outfits. Leading me to the statement “ we have no choice but to stan”

Gu jun pyo started out very cold and mean and rude and quite irrational and innocently stupid. It was hilarious to me, the way he seemed to ignore the laws of love and life in general in assuming people would just love him just because.

But what I like most about the character is that he didn’t really dwell in his misfortunes despite having so many, he was kidnapped and almost drowned as a child, has a nasty mother and his father being in a coma and having no one but his 3 friends and then one of those very loyal 3 friends starts acting up on the girl that he liked despite having a sort of girlfriend. I understand why he was so rash in his lifestyle. He had a lot going on for him.

Although Ji Hoo was meant to be the good guy, the one we loved and felt sorry for and maybe deep down hoped she’d end up with... I never felt that. I found Ji Hoo to be one of the worst characters. I mean look at it from my point of view. At the beginning he’s nice to Jandi and we love him for that, she likes him because he’s nice to her, he entertains it...and I’m sure he was aware of it and he entertained it ...that’s fine. The problem for me came when his girlfriend came and he realized that Gu Jun Pyo liked Jandi and he stills entertains her. See I feel that if he wanted her ,truly wanted her, he had a fair chance of getting her from the beginning. He only starts acting out on his feelings when she starts feeling things for Gu Jun Pyo. You know when he kisses her on the island and doesn’t apologize to Gu Jun Pyo and says he did it simply because he wanted to.....! I mean dude wtf that’s your best friend. Or the time he says to Jandi, “ let’s date, behind Jun Pyo’s back” If this was meant to be a joke I didn’t find it funny at all, Ji Hoo acts rash and mean every now and then and doesn’t ever apologize and we’re supposed to understand because he’s like her guardian Angel? What about the time he scolded her and told her to get lost because he’d overhead her conversation with his girlfriend? That was way meaner than anything Jun Pyo ever said or did because she did it for his own good and she always sees him as this nice and sunshine like person and then all of a sudden he just bursts and never ever ever apologized to her for that, I find his constant interference in their relationship unwarranted and unnecessary. Any of the other times when the other members of the F4 helped out with Jandi and Jun Pyo it never seemed to be like they were doing it for other reasons, it always seemed genuine. Ji Hoo always seemed to be like the guy hoping they would fail so that he could jump in and save the day.

Back to the main man, I also loved how when he loved, he loved wholeheartedly, with Jandi he went all out, going to her house and interacting with her family, the time he moved next door when she’d moved and lived with her little brother, I know there’s that part when he was in China and he was nasty to her and we know that’s on account of what he had to do for the company, having the weight of the world on his shoulders at such a young age. We must remember that these people are teenagers. So don’t judge them too harshly and wonder why they weren’t a bit more mature about it. He was an overall great guy and I’m glad the show ended the way it did with them being together and I still don’t like Ji Hoo despite what anyone says in trying to justify him.

speaking of girls generation, lol. their korean name is “so nyuh shi dae”, hence the snsd acronym. they debuted 10 years ago under sm, and they’re so impactful on korean culture that they’re like in textbooks and shit. they’re currently 8 members (taeyeon, yuri, yoona, sooyoung, tiffany, hyoyeon, seohyun, and sunny), but they debuted with 9. jessica left in 2014 after some messy shit with the company. snsd is like HUGE in japan. their japanese songs are so good.

one more sm group lol. i kinda hate sm because they treat their groups rly shitty but i love their groups so much. ANYWAY, red velvet is sm’s most recently girl group, debuted in 2014 with 4 members: irene, seulgi, wendy, and joy. in march 2015, they got a new member, yeri, which everyone was kinda confused about. she was super young at the time, like 16 i think, so maybe she was too young to debut in 2014? dunno. their concept is that they can do girly concepts (red) and more mature, r&b type concepts (velvet).

managed by jyp, another big company like sm. debuted in 2015 with 9 members (jihyo, nayeon, jeongyeon, sana, mina, momo, chaeyoung, dahyun, and tzuyu). they were formed after participating in a survival show called sixteen where sixteen jyp trainees competed to be in the new girl group. i’ve been following them since their debut so i have a special place in my heart for them. also they’re all younger than me so they’re all my daughters 

they’re pretty huge in korea atm, and everyone’s calling them the next snsd, which is making snsd fans (sones) all pissed off and starting a really dumb fan war. this is why i dont rly align myself with kpop fandoms lmao theyre all so embarrassing

The 2018 Asia Artist Awards recognized some of the biggest stars in Korea’s entertainment industry!

The ceremony was held on the evening of November 28 in Seoul, with awards honoring the work of both actors and musicians in the past year.

The Daesangs (grand prizes) of the night went to BTS and Lee Byung Hun. BTS won five awards in total, while Lee Byung Hun and IU both took home four trophies.
