actually tho all jokes aside. maybe this is just me as a wesley crusher apologist but like. this season doesn’t work for me without him at alllllllllllllll. like hey, old tng crew, while you’re all hand-wringing about CHILDREN and LEGACY and how you’re all BOUND TOGETHER does not one of you consider the kid you ALL had a hand in raising? the one who’s already had to grapple with getting the good and the bad from you all, and have ups and downs in his relationships with you all? is it truly only those you’re biologically related to who you live on through - even if you just met them a week ago? you all try so hard to balance ~starship family~ with ~real family~ and yet can’t be bothered to remember the kid who was BOTH?

Wes has never thought about romantic interests. From a young age people in hallow falls had tried to win him over. They wanted to be part of the skellington legacy and gain some sort of notoriety through Wesley. It was the same as it had been for his father the only thing separating them was that wes was not the people pleaser his father was. His papa had taught him firm boundaries and sheltered his only son from the clutches of the town that didn’t deserve him. For that, wes was able to forge his own path in many ways. One of those being love. While he had never thought about dating someone harry had always been a friend he was fond of. One thing lead to another and over time feelings grew. It was easy falling in love with your best friend. It was even easier when they fell in just as hard. As time went on the idea of creating his own family with harry become sweeter by the minute.

“Yeah siblings are usually like that. They’re busy when they don’t want to do the heavy lifting.” Wes teased. “They are. It’s just because they care. They want us to be prepared or whatever. she probably wants better for us. Coffins don’t sound too comfy.” Wes smiled down fondly at his boyfriend. His heart was swelling at the sight. He didn’t know it was possible to love someone so much. It felt like it could burst at any moment. “Can you believe we moved in together?”

henry nodded knowingly about siblings. having as many as he did you'd think he would've learned this by now. but, sometimes he held too much fate in the teague siblings. not as much faith as he had that things would be always be right for wesley and himself. like how it just felt so right when he met him. he knew instantly then they'd be the best of friends. wes understood him even if they were drastically different in ways. wes so much smarter than harry ever was. but, never made him feel less than. he made him feel seen. then they became teenagers and things began to change and feelings began to morph into wanting to be more than friends. but there was always a feeling of security. that this was exactly where harry needed to be. with his wesley. yes, his. he would always be his. now they are in their own home and starting their lives together. "what if i say yes? would that be super corny?" he said a bit bashful.

harry plopped down on the couch and then into his boyfriend’s lap. happily looking up at him with a goofy grin. he couldn’t have really imagined himself being with anyone before... but here and now things felt right. it made sense. everything felt like it was meant to happen. harry had never really dated before wesley. there wasn’t anyone he had really connected with outside of the blonde skeleton. and when he thought he was attracted to women... well that was a bust. turns out he just found his soulmate early in life and didn’t need to date anyone else to figure that out. now they’re in their first apartment together.

Hollowed Minds Progress Update 1/21/2024

Hi! It's probably odd to start this with a question, but how do you all feel about the way content/trigger warnings are implemented in IFs? I'm asking this because I'm doing bits of additional coding for accessibility. In the next update, for example, you'll get to choose if you want lore-related text to be displayed on the stats page or for it to simply display stat changes + relationship trackers.

Would you want the content warnings to have the same treatment (i.e. having the choice to have it displayed before every chapter)? Or is there something else you prefer? And do you find it better if warnings for the unreleased content are also displayed? I didn't make a poll because I'd like to get actual responses for this that's more than just numbers.

While I won't be writing anything that's too explicitly violent, HM can still get very heavy and I wish to take into account the thoughts of everyone who would read the entire thing. So do feel free to send an ask :)

Anyway, fixing game-breaking bugs was mostly what I did the last few weeks lmfao. I did write a few thousand words but nothing I can share yet, except maybe for a fact that MC's personality traits (depending on your config -- though the current setup isn't applied in the current demo yet) have a lot more flavor texts involved, and characters will be showing more reactions related to them. And I don't know if I've already mentioned this yet, but I made it so you could refer to Wesley using their surname 👀 (I probably mentioned that already but eh.)

Also I'm behind on comments but I did want to say that I'm so pleased people seem to really like Joan -- I was worried she'd come off as a Mary Sue, or perhaps more accurately a kind of Wesley Crusher, and I was also concerned about getting her behavior as a very bright twelve-year-old wrong (oscillating between too old and too young) so it's nice to see people enjoying her presence in the story!
