x-men it would be interesting to do a time loop story with:

cyclops - mister control freak himself! i think you would want a time loop where something bad happens at the end of the day and no matter what he does, he can’t stop it. given his guilt, his responsibility, and his need for control, i think that would absolutely destroy him.

shatterstar - here we lean into the performance aspect of a time loop. someone is watching the loop, someone is watching you suffering through the same horrible traumatic day every day over and over and they’re enjoying it? this is their entertainment? how do you break out of it without playing into their hands? how do you win?

karma - i think the interesting thing here would be to play on the idea of who she feels like she can tell. if it doesn’t help in a loop to tell dani, then why should she burden dani with that information? this is something she has to deal with alone every time it happens, and if she wants her friends’ help, she has to specifically tell them over and over again

rictor - being depressed can feel like it’s one long stretch of sameness and that there’s no way out. i think it would be good to see a rictor who wants to live, who’s fighting like hell to find a way out, who celebrates the idea of there being a “next day”

deadpool - time loops and fourth wall breaking are a match made in heaven. at one point he climbs out of the panel and over several days and into the next page, where he discovers that he is still stuck in a time loop. at another point he’s like “go read my appearance in squirrel-girl next month and then i won’t be stuck here.” the looming awareness that you are forcing him through this by continuing to read the comic. however it’s also deadpool so like. all of the above treated irreverently.

I think modern comics should acknowledge that Rictor was initially one of the kids taken in by X-Factor and therefore has an existing relationship with characters like Jean. I just think it would be fun, like imagine your high school teacher whose son basically adopted you came back from the dead and now you have to make small talk with her in the kitchen of the X-Mansion. That's fun.
