We can't overpower that thing. We'll all die if we try to fight. That'd be the worst possible outcome. Javier dying was the absolute worst thing that could happen. He's the main character of his world. Lloyd couldn't imagine what this world would be like without its main hero. And besides that, he simply didn't want Javier to sacrifice himself because of him. Surely, the knight wanted to avoid his own death as well.
javier literally a couple paragraphs earlier:
Even if I fight to the best of my abilities, I would only last five minutes. That would be the limit of his endurance. This was the second time he received this kind of feeling. I had a similar thought when I first encountered Dragon King Berkis. But this dragon seems slightly weaker than Berkis. Master Lloyd might have some time to run if Draggy and I fight against him with every bit of our strenght. Javier made his resolution as he calmed his nerves.
there is,,, so much going on here,,,
lloyd's worst case scenario being javier dying. not all of them dying that's bad for sure but javier dying? actual worst thing that can happen. not all of them. just javier.
everyone dying? terrible, should be avoided at all costs, 0/10 would no recommend. javier dying? worst ending possible, literally cannot imagine a world without him on it, the universe would break and also he just. doesn't want that to happen. never. not for lloyd. not at all.
and him being so sure that of course javier doesn't want that either. so sure javier must think like lloyd as well.
when we know for a fact that javier's skinny ass was fully making plans to sacrifice himself in order to give lloyd a few minutes to run away licherally a few seconds ago. full on dramatic protagonist about it. totally planning on going to his inevitable death in case it could help lloyd stay alive.
they are sooooo extra about each other i cannot emphasize enough how not normal these men are when it comes to one another it is infuriating

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Okay guys this is kind of ridiculous, I started reading the Harry Potter books with one goal in mind: to prove that the reason it has so many plot holes is because JKR didn't actually plan anything about what happened in the marauder's era.
Not until book three at least and even that isn't really enough information. I have the Scholastic Inc. version of this book with a cover made by headcase design.
But let's start off with a bang!
Most of the information in this book is on Lily Evans and James Potter, which makes complete sense, I'm not going to throw a hissy fit about that.
Here's what we know about Lily:
She has a sister who rejected her named Petunia (ch. 1 pg. 2).
According to Hagrid she was very good at magic (ch. 4 pg. 51, ch. 5 pg. 79).
She turned teacups into rats at home meaning that she broke the underage magic rules (according to petunia ch. 4 pg. 53).
Her parents were very proud to have a witch in the family. (Petunia ch. 4 pg. 53).
She was Head girl (ch. 4 pg. 55)
Was killed on Halloween when Harry was just a year old (ch. 4 pg. 55)
Her eyes were green (ch. 5 pg. 82)
The wand she used was Willow 10 1/4 inches, swishy, and good for charm work (ch. 5 pg. 82). Now if we look at the harrypotter.com page we can find out a little bit more. "Willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power, and I have noted that the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. While many confident customers insist on trying a willow wand (attracted by their handsome appearance and well-founded reputation for enabling advanced, non-verbal magic) my willow wands have consistently selected those of greatest potential, rather than those who feel they have little to learn. It has always been a proverb in my family that he who has furthest to travel will go fastest with willow" (Harrypotter.com).
She's a very pretty woman with dark red hair and eyes that aren't only the same color but the same shape as Harry's (ch. 12 pg. 208)
She tried to protect Harry and if she hadn't, there's a possibility that Voldemort wouldn't have killed her (ch. 17 pg. 294)
She loved Harry so much that it left its own mark, though not a visible one. (ch. 17 pg. 299)
James Potter:
He was a good for nothing husband who was very unDursleyish (Petunia ch. 1 pg. 2).
He was good at magic according to Hagrid (ch. 4 pg. 51).
He was head boy (ch. 4 pg. 55).
Was killed on Halloween when Harry was just a year old (ch. 4 pg.55).
The reason Voldemort didn't try and get him on his side was because he knew how close the Potter's were to Dumbledore, technically this is also mentioned about Lily but seeing as she was Muggle born I highly doubt that the offer to join the Death Eaters would ever be extended to her so I didn't put this in her section (ch. 4 pg. 55).
His wand was Mahogany, 11 inches, pliable, slightly more powerful than Lily's, and excellent for transfiguration (ch. 5 pg.82). Kay guys I'm not kidding when I say that mahogany isn't listed on Harrypotter.com and I even went to the fandom wiki but all it had was that James potter's wand was made of mahogany as well as a table in the leaky cauldron and the Nimbus 2000.
According to McGonagall he was an excellent quidditch player, however she doesn't say what position he played (ch. 9 pg. 152)
He left his invisibility cloak in the care of someone (who we know is Dumbledore ch. 12 pg. 202).
He was tall, thin, had untidy black hair that stuck up in the back, and he wore glasses (ch. 12 pg. 208).
Severus and James loathed each other (ch. 17 pg. 290).
Voldemort killed him first and he apparently put up a courageous fight (ch. 17pg. 294).
James mainly used the invisibility cloak to sneak into the kitchens and steal food (according to Dumbledore ch. 17 pg. 298).
He saved Snape's life (ch. 17 pg. 300).
Now I'm just barely going to mention that Lily and James were very rarely brought up without the other.
Sirius Black:
I'm honestly shocked that Sirius was even mentioned in the first book, I knew that it was his motorcycle that Hagrid had but I really thought that was going to be something mentioned in later books. however on chapter 1 page 14 Hagrid says "'Young Sirius Black lent it to me.'" From this we know that Sirius was there on the night Harry's parent's died.
Harry later has a dream about a flying motorcycle which I think can either be read as a reference to the night Hagrid flew him to the Dursley's OR as a subtle mention that Sirius was around a lot before Lilly and James died (ch. 2 pg. 19).
So kudos to JKR for having one other character than Harry's parents created.
General information about the marauder's era:
20 years from the beginning of this book Voldemort started looking for followers and found them. Some wanted power others were afraid (ch. 4 pg. 54).
No one ever lived after Voldemort decided to kill them (ch. 4 pg. 55).
Voldemort killed some of the best witches and wizards of the age: McKinnons, Bones, and Prewetts (ch. 4 pg. 56).
According to Hagrid there wasn't a single witch or wizard who went bad that wasn't in Slytherin (ch. 5 pg. 80).
Edited on November 19, 2024, to add chapter numbers.

Thoughts about Ego’s Backstory
Warnings for manga spoilers for Blue Lock below the cut!
So Ego is obviously one of the driving forces behind Blue Lock: he’s the organizer, the head coach, and I’m willing to bet he probably designed a good portion of the building/Blue Lock holograms/etc as well. But for such a majorly impactful character, we really don’t know much about him.
What we do know is:
He had a restricted diet sometime in the past
He has some kind of old friendship with Noel Noa
He used to have a job that required a special diet (possibly an athlete)
Above: Proof that Ego had some kind of career in the past that restricted his diet so he couldn’t eat instant ramen.
Above: Proof that Noa and Ego knew each other before Blue Lock.
I would like to put forth the consideration that his backstory went something like this:
Very talented athlete, went overseas because Japan was too small for him (much like Sae Itoshi), met Noel Noa along the way, failed to score a winning/somehow very important goal, returned to Japan and faded into obscurity until Anri hired him for the Blue Lock Project.
Here’s why I think that, and also take this with salt because it’s really mostly circumstansial evidence.
Firstly, in chapter one. The imagination story that Ego gives: pass or not at the World Cup? Maybe he’s just being imaginative but from what has been shown, Ego isn’t the kind of person to tell stories for the sake of stories. They’re always an allegory, like the famous “luck is bird shit” one. Is Ego drawing form parsonal experience?
Now, I’m not necessarily sure that he’s played in the World Cup. It might have been another game. But the possibility is there.
I also find the following page intersting: even though Isagi is speaking/narrating the “nameless striker” part, Ego is the focus of that panel. Heck, Isagi hardly earns a spot this page! This might be me just not noticing a lot of things, but it seems odd that Isagi referring to himself is superimposed over Ego and not, say, a picture of Isagi having lost. So, is/was Ego also some “nameless striker”?
What really made me consider all this was the panel below, from ch56, when Ego is explaining to the JFA why Blue Lock is necessary instead of just natural talent growth. Again, this might be a strech, but I don’t think it’s too far off to say that Ego might have experienced something very similar.
Afew pages after, we get this shot: Buratsuta saying failure isn’t allowed and Ego without a snarky comaback, for once? I do think this speaks to Ego having some failure in his past that impacted his philosophy of Blue Lock today.
And finally, Ego is so careless about his life after Blue Lock. Take a look at these three pages in Ch 131:
Ego doesn’t care! He’s giving up! He’s completely abandoning the one single thing he’s spent months or possibly even years building and defending!
Why?
What could have possibly affecte him to the point of willingly and knowingly giving up on something he’s spent countless hours designing the best possible training regimen for?
Listen, I really think Ego wants to help the Blue Lock participants succeed where he couldn’t. That’s why he calls them “lumps of talent,” “diamonds in the rough,” etc. Yeah, he does it kind of insultingly, but those things... they aren’t bad at all?
And it’s also worth mentioning that in the three panels, he’s basically lying. Not about the end of Blue Lock, I do think he was genuine about that part, but about the whole premise fo Blue Lock. He said right at the beginning that 299 out of 300 would die (more or less as a metaphor but, still...) but here he’s planned for the future of the remaining Blue Lock members. I don’t know if this was a lie all along or he planned it this way, but his promise of making a single #1 striker would have been broken here had Isagi not refused to accept this future.
Anyways. Ego is such an enigma and I really want more of his backstory. Maybe someone smarter than me has said this all before and I’ve just given an incomplete summary. My brain is shot after all this.

I'm finally finishing the 1863rd arc yayyyy
Ch 299
1863rd hsy will stay to lead them ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡)
Also the Fourth Wall is working so hard, trying to keep kdj’s panic attack at bay. He still can’t believe what happened… ;-;
Unavoidable… I wonder was Gabriel trying to protect something or someone. A person who cares about the other angels… choosing the lesser of two evils seems like something they would do
I can’t help but adore the way he cares for Uriel… He wants to help her. She helped him so much and showed great care and love. Kim Dokja just wants to do the same for her awwwww
Jophiel staying is something I never expected. But Gabriel saying that kdj & yjh remind them of their own companionship with Uriel… Both of them need each other, I see…
Ohhhh I’ve seen this quote before! Can’t believe it’s from this arc. No matter the choice, the end is inevitable… Whether you want it or not, the world keeps going ahhhhhhhhhhh Such a good quoteeeeee
*cries* he wrote down the information they could useeeeeeee
And hsy unsure whether she could accept this… It’s no longer the world kdj knew. They aren’t his companions. Yoo Joonghyuk is no longer there. Yet, he still cares so much ;-;
SHE GAVE HIM HER COATTTTTTTTTTT
Giving your coat to someone else is a love language
Doksoo nation, we are winningggggggggg
This is so cute ahhhhhhh, what the fuck, Kim Dokja has no right to say something like that, this stupid rat *shakes my fist at him* So cuteeee ahhhhh
Just the fact that you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist…. Awww man, these paragraphs make me feel things ;-;
Hold on a minute, this is ominous as all heck! You can’t drop something like this and disappear! Every story has a beginning and will one day have some kind of end. Even if it’s left unfinished, this too, will be an ending. What kind of story can exist without these things?
Ch 300
Because it was a choice only someone who loves the story with his whole heart could make. Because, even if no one could understand, there were things he wanted to protect. Things he couldn’t sacrifice for the end or for his own gain. Because there is love, and it may not be enough to change the way that story was supposed to end, but it was there. It was enough ;-;
*crying noises*
Oh you little bitch-
I have a feeling that Kim Dokja’s own belief for his story will play a role in this as well ahhhhh
Where-or when- was Kim Dokja thrown????
Ahh immediately meeting someone newTM and kdj just giving us crumbs to their identity. Such a kdj move
Lmaooo poor Kim Dokja, being embarrassed to say his modifier. Don’t worry, sweetie, your modifier is lovely
Ah, yes. Finally – the infamous Squidja lmaooo
The 1863rd arc was lovely, despite all the p a i n. I will be sure to reread it in one go in the future. But for now, let’s see what orv has in store!

putting down my scattered thoughts for where i would like season 2 of the webtoon to end 🤔
season 1 ended with the cotton candy scene, webnovel 51 and webtoon 42. s2 is currently at the slime dungeon, which is webnovel 61 but webtoon 52. the webtoon condensed hearthfenrir punishing the golden ivory tower (ch 46-49) into like 2 panels and condensed/skipped a few other minor scenes. i never actually read all the early chapters, so idk if the 10 chapter/episode gap is because even more entire chapters got skipped. if it is, then it means that the adaptation speed is roughly 1:1 except for when entire portions get cut.
if we take s2 to also be ~40 episodes, we might hit episode 80+? assuming a 1:1 adapation speed, it would mean webnovel 100+. and if some portions get chopped (maybe some sections of floor 299 and some others) maybe we can even hit webnovel ch 110?? idk if that area will be a good spot to stop though.
the week of regressions is at webnovel 77, while greenwalle starts at ch 82. narratively speaking, the start of greenwalle would be a nice place to start s3, except that i think the webtoon readers might get a little upset about still being stuck in the tutorial period orz. unless floor 300 is just that well done?? idk. actually i think floor 300 would work well as the central arc for this season, just like the toy mansion was. i just want to see post-regression tesilid though 😔
harpy queen is 87-91 and pandora's is ch 91-98. personally i think it would be nice if they could include greenwalle and a little bit after. just to smack all of us silly with the huge gap between tutorial tesilid and post-regression tesilid. i think casual webtoon readers would have forgotten how optimistic and well-meaning baby tesilid was by the time season 3 rolls over, so greenwalle wouldn't hit as hard.
stopping at the end of pandora's would also mean adapting 40 chapters, so i guess maybe they don't need to cut too many scenes? i also don't think it would be a good idea to include much past pandora's. the vatican arc is a liiiiitle bit long. there's the whole setup period, then the snow queen dungeon, then everything keeps snowballing into the magic republic arc and we only get space to breathe again at ch 128 when ailette blacks out. which is also a cliffhanger itself.
greenwalle being in s2 on its own would be a bit of a let-down i think because iirc nothing really happens there, we just meet reed and tesilid wakes up and barely talks. harpy queen arc very clearly shows how much more cold-hearted tesilid has become, which is great for making us all cry, but idk i think pandora's is a cooler place to stop? harpy queen ends with "how is tesilid going to sacrifice himself to regain powers without dying", which is a nice cliffhanger but i think it's not appropriate for a season finale - the stakes are too high. pandora's ends with them entering the vatican, which is a whole new stage of their lives so i think it's a nice spot for s3 to pick up.
#s-class heroine spoilers#might not reply to any replies for this post bc#i actually dont want to get reminded too much of what is gg to happen in s2#j wanted to dump my thoughts somewhere#bc i wanted to work out the math and see if we're gg to get post-regression tesilid anytime soon lol#signs point to yes ☝️#altho tbh i think i could just get the answers for this by looking at the korean webtoon#but ✨ idk how ✨#would have saved me time tho LOL
