Hi! hope you are having a great day! I was just idly curious about what Bluegrass & Hound are saying on page 4 of ch 1108? I've seen her line vary wildly and am wondering if Hound is asking if the Buster Call will be called off or if he is suggesting they call it off.

also now that you've read 1109 what is Saturn saying on the final page panel 2? Is “summoning” an accurate term?

hey!! yeah, for sure. so bluegrass is talking about how destroying the pacifistas still incurs a loss for the marines, since they're government property. the first thing she says is 張り切れないんだよ/harikirenainda yo, which is like “i/we can’t get too overeager/enthusiastic,” and then 倒しても損失/taoshitemo sonshitsu which like is “even if we take them down, it’s a loss (for us).”

hound is wondering it's possible for the buster call to be stopped/interrupted (once it's started) (the word he uses is 中止/chuushi, 'stoppage' or 'calling off') even though such an action would be 'unheard of/unprecedented' (前代未聞/zendaimimon). so his line is like "could it be possible to put a stop to the buster call? it would be historically unprecedented, but...!"

to me, it reads like he's musing on the possibility (as a result of the unprecedented resistance being put up by the strawhats+vegapunk and company), not actually suggesting or recommending it.

and then for 1109 (i waited to answer this until the official came out, but i still haven't been able to find clean raw scans), saturn's line on the last spread is very simply 呼ぶぞ/yobu zo.

yobu is the verb 'to call,' and then zo is a particle that adds emphasis. with sentences like this in japanese the subject and object are only implied by context, so most directly it would be "(i'm) calling (you/it/etc)", with both the "i" and "you" being implied rather than explicit in the sentence. 'summoning' is indeed also a valid translation.

So this has me conflicted because on the one hand... if Vegapunk is actually dead and Sanji was supposed to be looking after him, it's going to give that boy an even bigger guilt complex than he already has and that's the last thing he needs, but...

On the other, that sure looks like a video that was connected to the heart monitor in the corner which implies that it was only programmed to play once Vegapunk's heart stopped.

wano & egghead spoilers (up to current chapter 1108)

there's some interesting connection between the eyes of zunesha, luffy/joyboy and the iron giant on egghead

in the zou arc with zunesha's first introductions, each time they were on the page their eyes were big black holes, seemingly empty or hollow:

in wano arc, when zunesha got the first feeling that joyboy could appear, and was on the way to wano, their depiction was in inverse - which could still mean hollow black eyes and lighter color body, but in the shadows:

and then, when it seemed luffy died, his own eyes were very similar - black and hollow, dead and still, like zunesha's.

(this similarity especially here between them is very interesting (dead and still), and i hope we learn more about the 'crime' zunesha did, if i remember correctly, around 900years ago? and what exactly was their punishment, beside to wander around the world forever, and who were they in relation to joyboy..)

UNTIL !! luffy came back to life! not only as luffy, but with something of joyboy's spirit alongside him and unlocking/awakening his gear 5 of the sun god nika devil fruit. zunesha's eyes began almost glowing. bright and light (with hope and sun!):

and in this panel above was also another interesting thing - since then for a few panels/pages, we didn't see luffy's eyes - he had them covered, first with his hair, then even with his hand! (so much that the pose also ended up on his new bounty poster):

(when i first read it, it made me think as if he was getting used to the light/sun again after a long time, and had to shield them to protect them)

it feels that maybe the focus somehow shifted from his usually determined eyes - to his smile when he's fighting in gear 5, to give even more emphasis on him bringing laughter, joy and freedom to the people he's fighting for, so much that many times he's having his eyes closed or covered, even on egghead:

(there's still many panels where they eyes aren't covered, but it's even more curious when they are, especially on purpose, like with that bubble text above^)

even this last page of 1108, first we get to see a very intense look of luffy/nika being serious, angry and even terrifying with his power to grip both saturn and kizaru at once, and then a huge smile with eyes of similar intensity as saturn, still with something terrifying in that expression:

now with the zunesha and another connection - the iron giant on egghead.

when luffy went into gear 5 against kizaru, for few pages he was fighting in his giant form, and two times in those chapters it goes to focus right on the iron giant, who's eyes started to glow, as if he was waking up, as if he started to come back to life:

i really want to see what exactly is connecting them, these beings over 900years old (with the iron giant even attacking marijoa 200years ago) very possibly it's the feeling of joyboy's presence, so i hope there could be more exposition on who exactly joyboy was.

and then there's another connection with different looking eyes, and that's of the gorosei/five elders, in their awakened devil fruit state:

and especially, since he's been there more than the others, with saturn having these eyes when he gets very angry. (glowing? fire? poison - as there was mention the ushi-oni he's based on do have poison, and in the new chapter it was also mentioned that he's covered in poison.):

(I'm very curious how this will be animated/what colors. if it's gonna be differenciated from those of zunesha/iron giant/luffy, or if they will keep these similarities. i always love to find how luffy can resemble someone he opposes (kaido & big mom especially) bc he might be chaotic/having fun and be selfish, but never in the way his enemies are. he's always looking after the people who were kind to him/helped him, and doesn't want anyone to suffer. so it's always great to see how he use their similarities against his opponents to bring them down and win).

how is that saying, eyes are the window to the soul?

The Violet Paladin (Keith x Reader) Ch. 14

“I can’t believe you’re finally home,” The woman had said to me, “You look just like when you left!” 

“Excuse me, but I definitely think you have the wrong person,” I said trying to push her off of me. “I was born and raised on earth,” 

She backed up a bit to look me in the eye. “But you have her eyes, you have to be her… but you’re too young too…” She said thinking. I turned to Nova to hopefully get some answers as the woman walked away. Nova seemed just as confused as me. 

“Mom, what are you talking about?” Nova asked trying to get some answers for both of us. The room was quiet for a moment. 

“I’m sorry you just look so much like my younger sister did when she’d left,” “You never told me you had a sister,” Nova questioned. 

“Well she left about 28 years ago. Long before you were born,``she explained. She turned her gaze back to me and pulled something out it was a photo of well me, but it wasn’t me. 

“Wow, you do look like her,” Nova mumbled. 

“It can’t be…” I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through my pictures I must have a photo in here somewhere. Finally I found what I was looking for it was a photo my dad had taken of my mom when they’d first met and I thought it was beautiful. I compared the photo’s and they were the same girl. 

“That’s even better than means the Violet Lion is back in the hands a Naorian!” Nova cheered, I was just in complete shock, my mom wasn’t human… which means I’m not human either. “I think we broke her,” Nova commented trying to wave her hands in front of my face. 

“Can we just try to contact my friends?” I muttered. I paced through the room. I was so confused. I didn’t know what to do or think. My mom has basically been lying to me and what about my dad? Does he know? Is my dad human? I don’t know what to think anymore.

“It might take a while, we’ve had our communications shut off for a long time” Nova warned. I shrugged as I continued to pace, I was too lost in thought. I guess I could ask Nova and her mom about their people, because knowing that I’m at least half Naorian i’m at least somewhat like them. 

“Nova,” I called out. 

“Yes?” She looked at me. 

“Can you tell me about your planet and people?” I asked. 

“I thought you’d never ask,” She grinned, and here we go with the dragging again. She ran as I stumbled behind her. She ran to a room with a large screen and a desk in front of it with an orb I think. “This is the Archive we’ve had it for over 10,000 years,” 

“It still amazes me how advanced other planets were 10,000 years ago,” I mumbled. 

“Our people, more specifically the women, have always been known as the creators.” She explained. “There is a limit to what we can create but well let me show you.” She held her hand out as it glowed and a large metal staff was formed.

“So you can create weapons?” I asked. 

“Take this from me.” She said. I took the staff from her hand but it disappeared.  

“A personal weapon that can’t be taken and used against you almost like the Bayards since only the paladin’s can activate them,” I thought out loud.  

“The only real limit is it had to be attached to you somehow, so a hand held weapon or our clothing are prime examples,” She explained. “However, one person was known to do more with this than any other Naorian in history do you know who that was?” She asked. 

“If I had to take a wild guess I'd say maybe the original Violet paladin?”  “Spot on,” She smiled, “We can do a bit more than that but that’s the thing we’re known for,” 

“So, one more thing before we search the Archive that maybe you could tell me, you specifically said the females of this planet what about the males?” I asked. 

“Well they don’t have these which is how we create everything,” She turned and gestured to the places where outfit looked like it was cut, “Its attached completely to my skin as another layer almost but like armor,” She explained. “Now we can search the Archive where do you want to start?”  

“Maybe find out more about the original Violet Paladin?” I kinda wanted to find out about what she could do with the Lion.

Let’s just say the rest of my night was spent here with Nova. What the original paladin could do with the Lion was amazing, she was able to use her Bayard to extend her creations to her lion and Voltron. Then I tried to maybe learn more about my mom but there wasn’t much about her… 

“(Y/n) good news your lion is working again maybe you’ll be able to get a message to your friends!” Nova walked in. 

I got up “yeah I should,” I started to walk with her. Apparently she and some of her friends brought my lion closer to the city. I didn’t get to see it but she explained that one of the things she could create with the help of her friends could lift the lion and they just walked it back. 

I walked up to my lion and entered when she bowed her head. I waved at Nova. “I guess this is goodbye,” 

“Hopefully not for long, I want to help you in your fight,” She said with a spark in her eyes. I smiled a bit before walking into the cockpit. 

I sat in my chair and watched everything light up, before contacting the castle. “(Y/n) there you are!” Allura cheered, her face came up in front of me. “Where are you?” Lance asked popping up in front of her. 

“I’ll send you my coordinates now,” I said, sending them to Allura. 

“I will open a wormhole right now,”  Allura smiled.

“See you guys in a few,” I closed communications. “How am I going to tell them?” I sighed, “I have to tell them right? It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t. I don’t wanna keep secrets, what do you think girl? Should I tell them?” I asked my lion I could almost feel her purr in approval. “Okay, I’ll tell them.” I flew up when I saw the wormhole open and once I reached the other side I saw the castle.
