just watched wicked! it was good and the actors were great, but then i went and relistened to the broadway songs and yeah idina and kristin kinda rock actually. (idina's 'BLONDE' on what is this feeling just hits better, and sometimes cynthia says stuff faster than the original song which gave me unhappy whiplash). (anyway more idina propaganda her work in frozen songs are so good ahhhhh).
insane tho. it was good but the original just sung better. the visual aspect of the movie was pretty good tho, though the lighting and colour choice (the school...) at some parts was kinda dull. the set pieces were great tho. they slapped hard with the backgrounds, and buildings and decorations and stuff. they also did really well on the costumes and colour choices of those, the pink on blonde (and long eyelashes) for ariana was great, and same for green on black for cynthia (dude ALL of elphaba's dresses slapped idk what those wicked npcs were about her goth black dress is a DREAM). the animal cg was kinda mid (bad) tho.
also as someone watching on chinese subs (i can read them but. yeah) the first part of the movie was a lot of mumbling and i couldn't really understand 'no one mourns the wicked' song well which made me feel really annoyed. the people in the opener part sucked with pronunciation except for ariana (and cynthia). but the opening part with the flying dragons and people running on the nicely partitioned and coloured fields was great.
the cut up portion of defying gravity made me sad bc was it really like that in the play? so many pauses in between lyrics to exposition elphaba becoming public enemy number one?
ariana, cynthia and michelle (she's so cool ahhhhh!!!! she played the 'obviously evil mentor manipulating bullied talented child but you hope she's good' child so good. also her accent is different from the rest of the cast haha) are really good. ariana really makes glinda sooooo detestable and act so self-absorbed in a 'good girl' act that she's convinced herself she's 'good' and 'martyr-like'. idk what about it but i love this trope so much (pink-palette green tea bitch, maybe gets character growth later on and becomes the yuri gf...?) but MAN do i hate glinda as a character. she's amazing. ariana's first scene where she has Feelings about elphaba's death really shone through with her acting too. like she clearly has Thoughts about it but everyone around her is like 'BE HAPPY THAT SHE IS DEAD YOU CANNOT SAY OTHERWISE' and she can't say otherwise.
i haven't actually watched the musical so i can't comment on the plot progression (absolutely uninterested in the prince romance plot). but its like. ok so far.
i do think the ending sequence where they chop up defying gravity sucks but oh well. also i feel like elphaba and glinda end up on a higher note than i think the original did, i seriously thought the 'i hope you're happy' throughout the song was sarcastic, but in the movie it felt like more of an amiable parting thing.
also the prince, if he's supposed to be acting out a dumb thoughtless guy didn't really show through at all until like. elphaba points it out when he helps save the cub. idk if its the director or the actor but he just felt kinda flirty and vain, not (wilful) thoughtlessness if that makes sense.
my favourite parts are at the train station when glinda is (you can't see it but she totally was, ariana killed the expressions) upset that the prince is ignoring her in favour for elphaba that she announces she's changing her name to get cheers from the audience and become the centre of attention. that is such classic 'AITA when at my sister's wedding i announce that i'm getting married/having a kid' vibes. like go my evil bitch queen. and the other is at the end of the movie when elphaba rises into the sky and her long ass cloak billows out as a dark silhouette against the lightening sky like oh yeah the director knows what i want. and the opening scene. wish it was more 'first person POV' when they fly with the dragons(?) up and down in the sky and up the waterfall, but whatever.
overall, good movie! would i watch it again? no. would i watch the sequel in theatre as well? maybe.... but it really made me want to watch the musical to compare.
(and the rl scandal of the boq actor leaving his wife? to be with ariana is a really fucking funny reflection of the movie)
also i watched a few good men a while back and it was really REALLY good, favourite actor in that movie goes to jessep/jack nicholson. guy killed it as the evil EVIL man. my only complaint is that the ending was too rushed like surely they could have made the confrontation and back and forth with jessep a little bit longer so the obvious bait that jessep falls into because of his foreshadowed hubris is a bit more satisfying (like he's so cautious but only slips bc of his arrogance) but whatever. good movie. Plus it has no shoehorned romance!

regressor ranboo and regressor wilbur (RPF/IRL if you feel comfy with it!) with caretaker Phil!! (and Kristin if IRL!) i think that ranboo would be kid-babyspace and wilbur would be the same!! much love!!
R!Ranboo, R!Wilbur, and CG!Phil
Tumblr media
A/N : Honestly making headcanons for these three was really relaxing :O. They’re all three huge comfort characters so, :D. Also I may use “R!” Instead of “little!” Before names because it just feels better :D. Also!! I may make a oneshot to include Kristin because I love CG!Kristin content! (Also sorry! I don’t tend to make headcanon lists about like, their real personas? I don’t know how to explain that D:’ But hope you enjoy!! And I hope they’re okay cause I was just head empty so I couldn’t think of a lot /nav! But again, hope you enjoy :])
Tumblr media
Nests!! Nests!! Nests!! They love making small nests with Philza out of like, blankets and lots of pillows! (Who wouldn’t, to be fair). They both bring lots of stuffies and Philza reads to them when they get tired. Usually when they make nests, the two regressors will 8 times out of 10 stay in the nest for the entire day.
Ranboo tends to regress to older ages than Wilbur, so he’s like a big brother to the other regressor! Ranboo tends to try and do stuff for his younger (when regressed) sibling! Like getting him drinks, food, etc! Which Wilbur, in return, happily babbles at Ranboo.
They were very shy with each other at first, probably because their big selves weren’t really friends or anything. But they stopped worrying about that quite quickly and are almost inseparable playmates! Ranboo isn’t huge on affection but he’s fine with holding hands when small w/ R!Wilbur!
Both are very cuddly + clingy and will be around each other a lot.
They also tend to be able to bend rules quite easily with how well they can pull off the “puppy” eye look together.
Ranboo and Wilbur both like wearing Phil’s hat when small, for whatever reason. They both take turns pretending to be their caregiver. (They also totally steal some of Phil’s clothes and giggle at how the clothing reaches the floor. As if Wilbur doesn’t have the same thing skdhsjdnss)
While R!Ranboo isn’t really mischievous and doesn’t like breaking rules, he totally will for R!Wilbur. He just cannot say no to the other. So semitones they’ll sneak extra cookies after dinner, or stay up past their bed time. Which does result in Phil reminding them not to do that and that there’s rules for a reason. But the playful smile on R!Wilbur’s face makes it worth it :D. (That probably made no sense but we’re goin with it cause words suck)
CG!Phil and R!Wilbur have definitely helped R!Ranboo open up a bit and be more outgoing. (If that makes sense??) He’s typically shy when little but he feels safe around these two, so sometimes he lets his barriers down a bit around them.

i know were talking about r!skep right now but i just wanna go on a tangent about r!wilb if thats okay 🥺 i feel like he'd probably regress involuntarily without realising, like when you're slipping and youre deffo indulging in childish things but you arent deep enough to bot be able to pull yourself out if need be. it also kinda feels like whoever takes care of him wouldn't realise it either, like phil or someone would just be like "yup this is my friend, sometimes hes a bit childish and i need to help out thats just how he is"
Tumblr media
Bestie I love you. You're so right bestie. r!Wilbur my love. cg!Phil my love!! Kristin my LOVE. I am so full of love.

I totally agree with you about the su movie's songs being mediocre. The only ones I really liked were Spinel's
It was honestly such a disappointment because okay, the show did have its fair share of mediocre songs before, but it also has some that were genuinely really good. Albeit mostly in earlier seasons before the whole show started feeling like everyone is JUST TIRED OF THIS PLEASE SET US FREE REBECCA, but the good songs were there, and I expected them to try harder in the actual movie of the show than they would in a 10 minutes long episode but apparently not??? Also I don’t understand why did they choose for almost ALL of the songs to have so many convo interruptions, “Here We Are In The Future” has nice bits (mostly Pearl’s imo) but it’s impossible to listen to as a full song because half of it is talking?? Does it even count as a full song at this point?? And BOY i just feel bad for Uzo Aduba because she poured her heart into Bismuth’s vocal performance in that one song but she just had SO little to work with, she couldn’t save it with her voice alone. The Steven/Amethyst song tho? I don’t remember a single word, the melody, nothing, and I watched the movie yesterday. That is some BAD songwriting.
I really enjoyed “Other Friends” too, it actually felt like it had its own personality. I do hate how it was storyboarded though, the song is so energetic but the shots of Spinel trashing the CGs are sooo long that you have time to watch the shot carefully, start wondering where is the rest of the CGs, why aren’t they attacking now when they have the chance, are Garnet, Amethyst and Steven just looking with “hey a cool song” while Spinel is playing with Pearl holding her by her feet? What I’m at is the sequence does not convey the energy of the song well and it actually feels like it slows down the song and the more you watch it, the worse it gets (and I watched it many times because I really liked the song and I tend to watch the sequence A LOT when I like the song).
(Also the whole situation really makes me think of My Little Pony The Movie, Ingram composed some AMAZING musical numbers to the show that I unironically love – “Under Your Spell”, “This Day Aria”, “Bats Song”. But most of the songs in the movie kinda… sounded the same?? “I’m the Friend You Need” and “One Small Thing” were OKAY but I really can’t tell if I like “One Small Thing” because it’s nice or because Kristin Chenoweth. Initially I was impressed with “Open Up Your Eyes” in the Polish theatre but it turned out that the Polish performance was just SO much better than the original and the original does not give the same feels at all. So anyway guys listen to Polish Open Up Your Eyes because its very freaking good.)

KRISTINE FROSETH lookalike MATILDA GOULD has just registered with the votive as a BABYDOLL escort. their profile states that SHE is 20 years old, is of QUEER orientation, and some of their kinks include CG/L, ORGASM DENIAL, HAIR PULLING. it’ll be interesting to see if they’re as PRECOCIOUS & GREGARIOUS as everyone says.
Next child here is Matilda. She’s a tough nut, let me just tell you that right now. Here’s the gist of her story.
Born and raised in the 9th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana, Matilda, or Tilly, was used to scratching her way out of difficult situations. Her mother had a problem with drugs. Her father? Well. Tilly never knew who he was. That was fine with her, because she loved having a “new daddy” every week or so. He’d come in, try to make himself comfortable, and she usually got some presents or attention out of it, as he was trying to impress Tilly’s mother.
Until one of the men had about as much of a drug problem as Matilda’s mother. Tilly was about 13 years old when she came home from school to find them both slouched on the sofa. He survived. Matilda’s mother didn’t.
Given that Matilda didn’t have any other family to speak of, she went into the foster care system. Tilly went from a loving (albeit dysfunctional) household to chaos; her first foster family had six other children, all of whom were rambunctious, with a mean streak. She didn’t fare well. She began acting out, too, getting scrappier in order to survive. During a scrap, she punched one of her foster brothers, breaking his nose. She was sent away from that foster home into another.
This foster home was worse; she was the only child, but they were negligent. Tilly often went to school hungry. When she came with a bruise on her arm, the school stepped out. On she went to Foster Home Number Three.
Tilly was 16 at the time. Now in high school, she hit it off with a Senior, who gave her all of the right kinds of attention. She adored him. She fucked him. And then, he left for college, and Tilly was alone. She began to lash out. She sneaked out of the house on a regular basis and sneaked boys and girls in. Her foster parents had enough by the start of her Senior year. She was 17 years old.
Onto foster home four. Matilda was lucky with this place; she was only there for a few months before she aged out of the system. She crashed at friends/fuck buddies’ houses for a while before she grew tired of being reliant on others. She put out an advertisement on Craigslist and before she knew it, she was on a date.
He was older, well into his forties, and the best fuck she’d ever had. He reminded her of the men who used to come over to her mother’s place: he was strong, good looking, and showered her with attention. She was hooked.
Tilly began to offer herself and her body regularly, building up a clientele base, before she eventually found her way to The Votive. She prefers older men, but will be with anyone who finds her pretty enough. She’s not quite as rebellious as she used to be, but she is scrappy and can take care of herself, easily. She’s a deviant to the nth degree; good at fucking, can cum for days. A squirter, too, which is something she’s only recently discovered. She also gets attached to people way too easily, which can be problematic at times.
So HMK if you want plots with her! She’s going to be a fun lil muffin to play.

#BuffyAt20 - S03E10“Amends”
Very late but honestly who’s keeping track?
> Hey! A previously! Reestablishing Jenny as a character! Noice.
> I get the opening violin riff from this episode stuck in my head a lot. I just wanted you to know that.
> Daniel is pretty cute. And has not really done much. Too bad.
> This street is beautifully dressed for the period - and with the snow and everything.
> Oh gosh, David Boreanaz’s Irish accent. It’s not actually the worst.
> If I’m not mistaken, the weatherman on the shop window screen is real. I love when they do shit like that.
> BUFFY. BANGS. WHY.
> Can I just say how grateful I am that Buffy did a Christmas episode? I love the holidays, so my favorite show having an episode for it that I get to watch every year - and so Christmas Carol-y! Love it.
> I almost wish there was a Christmas version of the theme. Like, sleigh bells instead of cymbal smashes. Let’s do it!
> See, Buffy? You know the bangs are a bad idea - they’re fighting you!
> Willow is awfully huffy about people not remembering she’s Jewish for someone who’s not very observant.
> I’m sorry - why are they all talking like they won’t be seeing each other over Christmas break? Like, they’re BEST friends. It makes the scene a little unnatural.
> Oz says “I know you guys have a history.” He really does. Have I mentioned how much I love Oz?
> They’re just so sweet together. I wonder, if Seth Green hadn’t left, would Oz/Willow have been endgame? Would we have ever gotten Dark Willow? Hmmm.
> Ugh, I’m glad there’s some semi-mystical roots in Two Slayers not being able to get along because I really hate how awkward Buffy is about Faith.
> Meanwhile, LOVING how awkward Joyce is about Giles, haha. Kristine Sutherland’s performance is so tense, it’s amazing.
> THE BRINGERS!!! Oh man, what a random one-off character to make season-long antagonists.
> “Your mom sent you down, huh?” “ - No.” Oh, Buffy. You’re not the best liar.
> “I like the lights.” Me too, actually, Buffy. They’re such a specific touch. I know how long putting that shit up can take.
> Twenty years later, I still think Giles is a little extra hard on Angel. The whole crossbow thing. But like. I get it. And he gets over it pretty quick, and it’s done after this episode.
> Oh, I just got the “last time you became complacent” line for the first time. Oh dip, lol.
> This scene with Angelus eating this poor maid is sort of still rather heavy TODAY, let alone twenty years ago.
> Angel and Buffy both waking up from that dream is a HELLLLLLLA great plot twist.
> I really, really appreciate Robia LaMorte coming back to reprise the role of Jenny. I think that was really cool. I get why Amber Benson didn’t want to do this for Tara, but I think it’s such a clever villain idea, being able to use dead characters.
> Hmmm. I don’t know if it’s the older I get or I’m just in a mood, but I’m a little hmmm on Buffy/Angel at the moment.
> Aww but I love Xander showing up to help. He’s starting to become the Xander I love.
> Willow just said “We’re gonna watch videos.” Omigod.
> Angel says “It wasn’t me, a demon isn’t a man.” I mean, how DOES that work? Have we ever really been given a full answer still?
> Buffy having a sex dream on the library floor is… a lot. Merry Christmas, by the way.
> If Angel has a wet dream, that doesn’t count for anything, right? (Well I mean, we know it doesn’t, we learn he can have sex in Season 5 when he dates a werewolf.)
> Eeey! It’s that shot of Angel transforming into a vamp that gets used all the time in the Angel opening credits!
> The First says “This is why we brought you back.” Which, did it? And if it did, what exactly was its aim?
> Giles says “You can’t fight The First, Buffy. It’s not a physical being.” And I’m like, IF ONLY YOU GUYS KNEW, SEE YOU IN 4 YEARS.
> “Let me get a double shot of, um - of information, pal!” Oh Xander.
> WHY IS IT SPECIFICALLY SCRIPTED THAT XANDER INTERRUPTS BUFFY?
> They CG’d Christmas lights onto the establishing shots of Sunnydale, I love when shows do that for the holiday episodes. Fuller House just did one where they forgot to decorate the neighbors’ houses!
> The dream joke Oz makes is literally Willow’s dream from “Restless.” Just a note.
> Willow says “We could do that thing” and my heart melts.
> I didn’t even know the Summers’ fireplace was functional. I don’t feel like they would actually do the upkeep for that.
> Faith showing up at Buffy’s house for Christmas means EVERYTHING TO ME.
> Joyce says “Oh that is so thoughtful” to Faith’s gifts because once again Joyce is the most amazing mom on TV.
> Okay I’m sort of engaged on the bedroom scene with Buffy and Angel but… I’m still mulling them over.
> The “But it’ll do” from The First is so sassy, which is more great foreshadowing of its characterization in the future.
> The sequence of Buffy smashing up the earth maybe goes on a bit too long. We didn’t have anything else to fill that minute with?
> The way Buffy just sort of sweeps away the Bringers’ altar is somewhat comical.
> “Alright, I get it, you’re evil, do we have to chat about it all day?” and “Let me guess, is it… evil?” are some of my favorite Buffy lines ever.
> Oh, there’s actual roofs down there with lights up. Maybe it wasn’t CG after all!
