Baby Steps

Prompt: First time regressing with Rosalie and Emmet.

Notes: GN!Reader. Mentions of pull-ups. Fluff and Angst

Rosalie and Emmet would be the first to admit that they were desperate for a child. Despite knowing that it wasn’t possible, they still yearned for a baby.

During an attempt to curve this need, they stumbled upon age regression.

Suddenly, it felt like all their problems could be solved.

An adult human, who would regress to being little… if all went well the couple could turn their little and keep them forever!

And that is where you came into their lives.

It had taken years for them to find you, as they were confined to Forks. But when you came over as a transfer student, Edward was able to identify you easily; your worries about slipping and regressing on your first day practically screaming over the others thoughts.

Rosalie worked hard to gain your trust as a friend, and then as a lover to her and Emmet. They were never sexual with you, not that you cared.

They spent time with you, helped you with your studies. Emmet loved to do things for you- in an attempt to get you to slip with them. He would say things like, “ahh-ah, let me get that for you baby. You are much too small” or “You sure you don’t want to snuggle up for a nap? You have been working so hard and your little eyes must be so tired”.

Rosalie was just as bad. Cupping your cheeks to pepper kisses over your face, buying water bottles with the pop up straws for you to drink from - they were so similar to your sippy cups. She would spoil you with cute outfits and loved to dress you up so you could show Emmett.

The rest of the Cullens didn’t seem to care about what Rosalie and Emmet were doing. Alice had whispered assurances to the couple when they felt like things weren’t going to plan. Jasper actually didn’t mind spending time with you, but only really did it when you were working on your maths work. Carlisle and Esme always doted on you, and welcomed you with open arms.

In fact, it was Carlisle who introduced Rosalie and Emmett into the world of being a Caregiver to an age regressor.

It took 4 months into the relationship for you to slip with Rosalie and Emmett, and it was completely accidental.

The others had gone off to visit their friends up North, leaving Rosalie and Emmett with an empty house for the week.

You went over on the Friday, with plans to stay the whole week. On Saturday morning, you woke up between Rosalie and Emmett. You were in your fluffy pyjamas, a must have to keep you warm because they were cold.

There was a little nagging voice at the back of your head as you nuzzled into Emmetts chest, whining softly as you woke up.

Immediately, strong arms wrapped around you, pulling you close and a nose presses into your hair.

“Morning little bubba, you sleep ok?” Emmetts rumbling voice quickly soothed that nagging voice and you let out a little babble in response.

Usually you woke up quickly, turning to lie on your chest so you could see both of them- so this automatically caught their attention and the two vampires shared an excited look.

“Is our little darling still sleepy?” Rosalie asked softly, pressing herself to your back as she tucks some loose strands of hair behind your ear.

You just hum softly, struggling to wake up. You often regressed between the ages of 3-6, but sometimes you could be as little as 1, where all you wanted was to be held.

Still being so sleepy, you missed the conversation happening over your head.

“Rose, I think we should put our little one in a pull up. I’m not sure how old they are feeling”

Emmett muttered, holding you close as Rosalie nodded in agreement.

“I know our little one is usually no younger than 3 when we watch them at nights- but I think they are feeling very little today”

Rosalie pressed a kiss to the top of your head.

“Go make a bottle, I will get them changed”

Rosalie and Emmett share a quick kiss before Rosalie takes you in her arms and steps into the normally locked side room that they had turned into a nursery for this exact moment.

You whine a little and babble softly as Rosalie carries you through, setting you down on the changing mat.

She hums softly, keeping you calm and settled as she starts to undress you. The pyjama trousers come off easily but there is a bit of wiggle needed to get the top off.

Before long Rosalie pulls a pull-up over your legs and smoothes the band as it settles in place, making sure it fits properly. After that, she takes out a Winnie the Pooh onesie, with the feet and hands covered so that you don’t accidentally scratch yourself.

“Such a good little baby, hmm? Let’s get some warm milk to fill that little tummy. Then you can cuddle with us all day”

Rosalie gets a blanket and wraps it around you, making sure to swaddle you tightly. Once you are swaddled and cozy, Rosalie takes you into her arms again, rubbing a hand over your back as she carries you downstairs.

Emmett is waiting with a bright smile, bottle in his hand as he waits for Rosalie to come down with you.

“Look at you! A cozy little bubba”. Emmet smiles as he takes a seat and takes you from Rosalie’s arms and wrapped an arm around your blanketed body, leaning you into him as he brought the bottle of warm milk to your lips.

The warm milk filling your belly brought your mind into focus, and your breathing steadied with each sip.

Everything seemed to come crashing down.

Seeing your reflection in the mirror opposite the sofa with the Winnie the Pooh onesie on, the bottle that was in your mouth and the paci that is secured with a clip to your onesie. The feel of the pull-up….

You panicked.

Tears streamed down your cheeks as you turn your head away from Emmett as he tried to feed you.

Before you could even take a breath to let out a cry, Emmett had you in his arms, standing up as he rocks you while shushing you.

“It’s ok bubba, daddy is right here. It’s all ok, I got you”

Usually his voice soothed you effortlessly, but now it just wound you up more. Hearing Emmett call himself ‘daddy’ had that nagging voice screaming in your head again.

They were going to hate you! They probably thought that you were weird!

“Baby? Little one, it’s ok. It’s ok. Me and Emmett understand that you are feeling little.”

Rosalie’s sweet voice fills your ears as she brushes away your tears with her thumbs.

“Me and Em are caregivers, darling. No need to be all upset, we aren’t going anywhere.”

With each word you start to calm down a little bit, understanding that they don’t think that you are weird.

“We have been wondering when you would mention it love bug, but waking up with you feeling oh so little was the best.” Emmett says with a smile, kissing your cheek.

“You seemed very little this morning baby, so we just wanted you to feel safe and comfortable. We’re sorry if-“

“Em, our little one isn’t big enough for a complicated discussion like that.” Rosalie chided gently.

“Let’s wash your pretty little face, and then we can make another bottle and put a movie on, how does that sound darling?”

You blink at Rosalie, trying to figure out how to say what you were feeling, but she was right. You were too little to express that. Instead, you nod your head, tucking it back under Emmetts chin as he chuckles and rubs your back soothingly.

Emmett takes you to their bathroom and gently washes your face with a washcloth, making funny faces in an attempt to get you to laugh.

Only after you had spent a minute or so giggling did he take you back down stairs where Rosalie had your new bottle of warm milk.

They sat on the large sofa, Rosalie tucked into Emmetts side as his arm slung around her shoulder, his gaze fixed on you as Rosalie gave you your bottle, smiling again you as you drank it.

Before long your tummy was full of warm milk and your eyes felt heavy. You were now sucking on the nub of the empty bottle and Rosalie pulled it away and replaced it with your paci- soothing you before you could even whine.

You fell asleep like that, in Rosalie’s arms. Curled up and softly sucking on your paci, all the big emotions from earlier leaving you exhausted in the arms of your mama and daddy.

Rosalie and Emmett finally felt complete. They finally had their little one, and God help anyone who tries to hurt you.

Edward

Definitely a bit startled by it initially!

Since his skin is so tough human teeth can’t even scratch it, he very strongly discourages you biting him

Will buy you teethers though

“Are my darlings teeth coming in?”

Will think it’s so cute and just shake his head at you

While you’ve never seen him or the others eat, you picked up the habit somehow

If you insist on biting him then he will compromise and let you nibble on his fingers real soft!

He will lie and say your teeth are so strong that it hurts if you bite too hard

In reality he doesn’t want his little one to hurt their teeth

Alice

Similarly to Edward and the rest of the Cullen’s, she will redirect your biting too

The minute your little mouth goes ‘ahh’ she’s putting a pacifier in your mouth

100% calls you baby bear for the biting

She knows you do it to imitate them so it makes her happy

Will 100% match your energy and pretend to bite you.

We’re talking doin the Minecraft eating sound and going om nom nom on your neck just to hear you giggle.

Would rather you chew on teethers or chew toys then ever try to bite her skin

She knows it’s like marble and it’s too tough for baby teeth :(

Will similarly let you nibble her fingers as long as you don’t actually bite down

Does think it’s super cute

Will buy you chew toys and other stuff just for redirecting you

If you prefer pacifiers, she’ll get the extra tough ones

Will 100% give your pacifier a little kiss or rub noses with you.

Emmett

Bites back(he doesn’t actually bite he’s too scared of hurting you)

Also calls you baby bear

When you are feeling bitey he will grab your teether or chew toy and tug on it

Loves tug of war

Will growl while tugging fs

Will let you nibble at him but he doesn’t let you bite down hard

“Baby, you can’t bite daddy too hard like that, it hurts sweetness.”

It doesn’t actually hurt him he just says it so you won’t bite hard

Esme

She’s a mom

So she is going to scold about the biting

“Hey, no biting sweetheart” she scolds

She’s worried about your teeth bless her

She is the biggest pattern interrupter

So she buys you teethers and chewlery and chew toys

Since you can sometimes be a hardcore chewer she’s keeps extra, not to mention has strict rules on if one is wearing out to let her know

She doesn’t want her baby to choke!

Will also get you really chew intensive snacks or gum to keep you occupied

Carlisle

He’s a doctor okay

He gets specific state of the art chew toys and stuff

Just so they are the best they can be for teeth

He’s especially worried if you try to bite him

It’s not the action as much as his worry for your teeth against what is essentially stone

“Ah, ah, little one. Use one of your chew toys, biting daddy is bad for your teeth, darling.”

Lowkey a stickler about it too

Like esme, he stays stocked

Same rules about worried about you choking

If you feel like really chewing hard the only semi bad thing he will allow is you chewing ice

He secretly does love hearing you crunch away at the cubes

He will even make sure to keep ice in the house he knows you like chewing

(Real ice chewers know there is a very big diff in the cubes)

Heyyo! For the regression ask, I wanna see if u have headcanons for The Lego Movie (including the sequel if u can come up with something) ❤️

I can't say that I've seen the sequel, but I've definitely seen the first one! Unikitty for one seems very childlike, but I actually feel like she'd be like a great cg. Benny might be the one most likely to regress to me, but I also feel like it's something that Emmett may have repressed while trying to act "normal". It might just kind of happen for him, and Lucy takes notice, and wants to know more. Maybe she eventually takes part. Good cop may potentially also be a good cg, maybe even bad cop, who will keep a little safe, and be more empathetic towards trauma regression.

I haven't seen the sequel but I feel like queen Whatevra Wan'abi would be a fun cg, if just for keeping a little entertained.

This is not meant to be rude and I'm sorry if it appears that way.

But, I think the person that brought up Max in the first place should be in charge of making a face claim. Since it is kinda...they're oc. They came up with the whole idea. I just don't think somebody else should be determining what they look like. The person who brought it up said/sent a picture of wat they look like so that's what they look like. Quinn's is fine too since it's at least SOMEWHAT close to what the "creator" said they look like.

however a lot more goes into making an oc than just a name and a faceclaim. i have an entire sheet dedicated to his backstory and his personality and his inner relationships with the triplets and nate- none of this was created by the anon who sent in "ftm cg x little nate"- it was created and curated by me. the idea was sent to me, i took other anon suggestions for a name, and then i worked out a character.

if this were the case, emmett wouldn't actually belong to aus and would belong to the anon who sent the idea of nick's bf being a cg- which in my opinion wouldn't be fair since aus and i came up with his name, another anon came up with the face claim and aus has curated his story.

also while the topic is brought up, the person in the fc that was sent is not ftm and it feels wrong to use a fc for a ftm character of someone who is not ftm, because accurate ftm trans representation matters to me.

Love Shore follows the paths of two playable characters, Sam and Farah, whose lives and choices will intertwine in strange and unexpected ways. The two characters, via different means, realize they need to get to the heart of the city, not just to understand their mysterious companions, but to understand themselves.

A city that features old hidden gods, cyborgs, an LGBT+ and diverse cast, synthpop, neon lights, copious amounts of violence and romance, a man with a potty mouth and a woman on a mission.

The Cullens find out Bella is a little!

Bella would fs try to conceal it, forever the parentified daughter. She’s always terribly afraid she’s pestering anyone by being small.

How the Cullens discover it

When Alice came back from Ithaca, she had found a regressed Bella. She was cold, and traumatized from her brush from death. Everytime she could have a chance to see Edward, she relished it. She yearned for him to take care of her, to hold her like he had so many months ago. Alice found her curled in her bed, holding her lamb stuffed animal she had bought herself. She had her knees to her chest, with a far off glossy look in her eyes. Her thumb was in her mouth as she stared off, out of the window as if Edward would just appear. When she had noticed Alice’s presence, she startled. The poor thing began to panic, tears quickly streaming down her cheeks.

“Alice?” She had asked, voice full of disbelief.

“Hey, Bella! I missed you! I’m so glad you’re okay!” She said cheerily, gentle and soft, the little one quickly soothed. She hugged her, holding her close. She soothed over her hair as Bella cried, clinging to her as if she was scared she’d drift away.

Later on, after the run in with the volturi, Edward was the first to know. With him hearing Alice’s thoughts, she had told him, and he easily accepted. When Bella found that instead of pushing her away again for regressing, she was welcomed with open arms by the siblings, telling everyone else got far easier. She left it up to them to tell the others, and they all accepted it pretty easy. When you’ve been around for a century, or close to that, you get very open minded.

How they treat the little one!

Alice

Totally a big sister! She was Cynthia’s when she was a human, and old habits die hard!

Bella can definitely expect to have a partner for tea parties and dress up!

Alice is also very good at Barbie’s

Since the poor thing is still pretty traumatized from her brush with death, Alice is very good at bath times.

She will also sit with Bella and read her stories or sing her lullaby’s.

Big fan of braiding Bella’s hair, or just playing with it in general!

Bella reminds her of Cynthia, so it’s a bit of mutual healing for the two of them!

Once Bella’s a bit more comfortable with it, you can count on him joining his mate and the little one in whatever activity they are doing.

Jasper

Very gentle with Bella

Originally the little one is a little wary of him since he almost attacked her at her birthday party.

Once the two move past that though it’s smooth sailing!

He loves walking with her in the trees, or giving her piggy back rides! He’ll run through the trees with her on his back just to hear her endless giggling.

Alice is very fond of this as well, her favorite times are often when her and Jasper are caring for Bella.

Will tell her stories of all the places he’s been and what the past was like

He does make sure to leave out details that would upset the little one though!

Will do his bat twirl when she asks, just cos he knows it makes her giggle.

Edward

Her main caregiver even though most of the Cullens treat her as their little as well.

Loves holding her while she sleeps or when she’s feeling clingy.

Will jump tree to tree with her similarly to Jasper just to hear her laugh and squeal.

Will listen to music, play piano or read stories to her. Bella loves him reading her Shakespeare or other classic literature. She doesn’t always understand the big words, but his voice is the part she really loves.

This kiddo has a whole lot of abandonment trauma, so after the events of new moon she is definitely wary of him.

Once she’s sure he won’t leave again, she clings to him like no other.

Edward can’t even make her something or get her a sippy cup without her whimpering and almost in tears.

He will carry her with him around the house just to stop her from being upset.

Little Bella doesn’t have the best grasp on object permanence, so whenever Edward leaves the room after spending time with her, she automatically thinks he’s leaving again.

The minute he comes back though she’s so ecstatic about it and clinging to him.

Loves calling her pet names! Will call her little lamb, or sweetheart more often than not.

Loves sitting in the meadow with her and letting her see his skin glimmer in the sunlight peaking through the trees.

Rosalie

Definitely the most distant in the beginning

She does come around eventually she’s just very guarded at the start

Once she is a bit more willing to take care of the little one all that goes out the window

Loves taking care of Bella when she is super little!

She loves playing with her hair or playing peekaboo with the kiddo.

Will tickle her just to hear her precious little giggle!

Big fan of rules and of naptimes

Really she just likes watching the little one dream while she pets her hair.

A stickler on sugar and on too many snacks

Will scold Bella for ruining her supper

But she does manage to stock the house full of things the little will eat.

Loves watching Emmett play with her too! She always wanted her and Emmett to have a child so she can do that vicariously through her!

Emmett

He thrives outdoors, okay?

He would be so good at playing with her outside, or just making mud pies!

Rosalie would scold him for getting her dirty though.

“Stop letting that little girl drag in mud!” “It’s just dirt and she was having fun, babe, c’mon”

Rosalie does shake her head and clean up the mess, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

He gives amazing piggy back rides since he’s built like He-Man

Is surprisingly so soft with Bella?

Like he will let her sleep on his chest while him and Rosalie are cuddled up, he’ll he’ll even put a heating pad under his shirt so she’s not too cold.

Amazing at hide and seek, even though he can always find Bella immediately, he will really draw it out for her.

Esme

Thee momma to end all mommas!

Will cook(usually too much) for the little one!

She’s lowkey forgotten how much humans need to eat so she has to learn to feed Bella the appropriate amount.

The definition of she’s a little confused but she’s got the spirit

Loves to buy her trinkets and gear while she’s out!

“This reminded me of you and I just had to get it, Angel.”

Bella hates gifts but does really treasure everything any of the Cullens give her.

A total mom, we’re talking scolding to eat her veggies, fretting over nap times, and worrying about if the sugar she had spoilt her appetite.

Her love language is acts of service and does she show it!

Will do her laundry and fold it, cook for her, keep her gear clean and sanitary, and making sure her things are neat!

She definitely converted a room in their house to a nursery for Bella!

Hell she even got her one of those expensive adult sized cribs or had a custom woodland themed bed frame made!

Will get her plenty of stuffies!

Carlisle

The best at helping whenever the little gets a booboo, or hurt.

Will play doctor with her!

Bella does play the doctor and usually gives him the most asinine diagnoses for fun.

“You have rabies and we need to amputate your arm and nose.”

She says this very gravely, all while Carlisle is trying not to burst out laughing.

Since he’s the oldest in the Cullen clan, Carlisle is her favorite story teller of the past.

When he puts into perspective that he was born less than 30 years after Shakespeare died she gapes at him.

He doesn’t spend nearly as much time with little Bella, but she is his go to when the rest have to hunt.

Around him she usually regresses pretty young!

Will hold her close or bounce her on his knee just so she giggles.

Istg this whole family will do anything to see this poor girl giggle.

When Bella isn’t having the best day, he is one of the best at making her feel so loved and cared for.

A Quiet Place Part II Review: John Krasinski Brings More Sound and Fury

Does anyone else think the first A Quiet Place was overrated? Upon its release in 2018, the John Krasinski and Emily Blunt-led movie was greeted warmly by critics and audiences, but when you stripped aside the fact that Jim Halpert from The Office directed it (and starred too as an extremely competent alpha survivalist dad, doing his damnedest to erase poor, mild Jim from our memory), it was a pretty conventional B-horror movie.

Based around a single gimmick—blind aliens who hunt their human prey by sound, thus making staying quiet essential—the film was full of contrivances designed to get its central Abbott family from one terrifying predicament to another (the worst offender being the Abbotts conceiving and having a baby—yes, a crying baby—in the midst of an apocalypse). But it also did achieve a certain amount of suspense through its premise and Krasinski’s taut direction, making audiences think they were watching something fresh, even as the movie relied on tried and true tricks the more it went on.

Since A Quiet Place made a gazillion dollars against a sensible budget, a sequel was naturally put on the fast track with Krasinski directing again and writing it solo as well (he rewrote the first film’s original screenplay, which was penned by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck). Yet A Quiet Place Part II, which on the surface is a tense and often effective ride, gets dragged down like its predecessor by the thinness of its story and its world-building. That and the actions of the characters, who once again do everything possible to put themselves in danger.

A Quiet Place Part II begins with a flashback to the very first day of the alien invasion that has annihilated most of human civilization, but there’s absolutely no reason for us to see this except as an excuse for Krasinski to again portray the soon-to-be deceased Lee Abbott one more time. The sequence, which starts with the Abbott family attending a Little League game in their picture-perfect, rural American town—also briefly introduces slightly oddball neighbor Emmett (Cillian Murphy), although he makes almost no initial impact.

As with much of the backstory in these films, the reveal of the invasion’s first day doesn’t really offer any context for the events: the townspeople see what looks like a flaming meteor streaking across the sky and before you know it, the aliens are on the ground plowing through civilians like monstrous weed wackers. Krasinski never delves into questions about the creatures and how they got here, but to be fair, the daylight attack still works on a metaphorical level because of its suddenness and ferocity.

Flash forward to “Day 474” and we’re with the Abbotts (minus Lee, of course) as they prepare to leave their ruined farmhouse. The battle that the end of the first film hinted at is over, with dead creatures scattered around the still-burning and flooded home. Evelyn (Emily Blunt), son Marcus (Noah Jupe), older deaf daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), and their newborn baby (whose name we didn’t catch) hit the road, walking as quietly as possible in the direction of a distant fire signal that could indicate more human survivors.

With creatures nipping at their lacerated heels as they reach a abandoned steel mill, the Abbotts discover that the place is inhabited by Emmett, now a fearful loner who has lost his own family and wants the Abbotts out by the next day (one clever detail is Emmett’s use of a furnace as a hiding place, with a stopwatch to indicate how much time is left before the limited air runs out). But before he can kick them out, Regan—armed with the makeshift sonic weapon created in the first film—ventures out on her own, seeking the source of a different, more promising signal.

Although Regan evolves in this story into a more confident, mature leader (the same can’t be said of Blunt’s character, unfortunately), she still makes the first of several questionable decisions that artificially propel the story forward. The cardinal rule at this point should be “never split up,” but the Abbotts continually ignore that sound advice.

One could argue that Regan’s journey is one of growth and necessity, as are some of Evelyn’s actions. The same cannot be said for poor Marcus, who makes the brunt of the movie’s bad choices simply because the story needs to put several family members in danger at the same time. Emmett makes some ill-thought decisions too, but at least he gets to evolve as a character, with the skillful Murphy making his progression logical and compelling.

Fortunately, Murphy, Blunt, Jupe, and especially Simmonds are all on their game here, making the Abbotts and Emmett effortlessly watchable even as the story itself takes predictable and contrived turns. But without the novelty of the premise to paper over the story’s flaws like it did in the first movie, A Quiet Place Part II can’t quite overcome the weaknesses of the narrative or the world that Krasinski builds. Instead it bounces predictably from one shock sequence to the next while introducing new elements to the story and then moving on without fully exploring them.

Aided by his cast, there’s no question that Krasinski continues to grow as a craftsman behind the camera. Even if the scares are more conventional, the director wrings as much as he can out of them in terms of suspense and dread—we found ourselves white-knuckling the theater seat armrests (yes, we did see this in a theater), even as we knew exactly where the scene was going. The sound design and music add immeasurably to the sense of terror as well, and the creatures remain disturbingly designed even if we see a lot more of them, allowing their CG seams to show a bit more.

A Quiet Place Part II tries to say something about the next generation taking over from the one before it, a theme which benefits from Krasinski’s minimalist approach to story. But at the same time, the movie so blatantly sets up a sequel that one leaves A Quiet Place Part II with the feeling that the movie has been just an extremely well-made and often gripping time-filler instead of a genuine expansion of the tale set-up by the first film.

As a final note, A Quiet Place Part II was actually supposed to come out on March 18, 2020, and there was even a press junket and world premiere held in New York City on March 8—literally days before the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down. As a result, the film was among the first major studio pictures to see its release date postponed, with the movie shifted several times before finally settling into its final arrival on May 28 of this year. The movie will also show up on the Paramount+ streaming network 45 days after its theatrical release. But as restrictions loosen, we might cautiously suggest catching this one on the big screen if you’re so inclined.
