YAYYY i love writing for him i think demo is so uncle like thats him right there !! i call him demmy when i feel little cuz i think it's cute so that's what i used here

chose to write a blurb instead of a hc bc i had a very specific idea pop into my head for this one (+ surprise appearance from engie yayy!)

As you finish the last scribbles on your masterpiece, you hold up the paper proudly. "Demmy will like!" you announce to yourself, standing from your sitting position and toddling your way to the common area, where you knew he would be.

As you enter, he nearly does a spit-take, shoving the bottle of scrumpy he's holding behind his back, not having expected you. "Aye, little one, thought ya were down fer a nap."

You shake your head "no", and scramble to sit on his lap. "Don't wanna nap, look, I color." you say as you proudly hold up your paper. He takes it in his hand, studying it closely with a hand on his chin as he thinks.

"Well I'll be.. aye, this one may belong in a museum!" he declares, causing you to giggle.

"Nooo Demmy. Is for home only." you respond, and he nods.

"Alright. Still beautiful though." he smiles. "Aye, you want to play a game? I'm thinkin hide and seek!"

You clap excitedly, chanting, "Yes yes yes!" You crawl down from his lap. "You seek, I hide, okay?"

He doesn't respond, rather covers his one eye and starts counting down from 100. Quickly, you bolt your way out of the common area and down the hall, unsure of where to hide. Suddenly, an idea pops into your head.

You make your way down the slope of the hallway and find yourself in front of the Engineer's workshop, Slowly, you push the door open and watch for a second as you see him working on his machines. You head inside, little socked feet making no noise against the concrete floor as you successfully slink past Engie without him noticing.

As you settle into a spot under a table, you wonder how long it's been. For entertainment, you count (the best you can) how many tools you can find scattered on the floor. One wrench, one hammer, one...

The door of the workshop bursts open, and Demo comes stumbling in, causing Engie to jump. "What in the hell are ya doing?" He asks, dropping the wrench he's holding.

"Lookin' for the little one." Demo answers proudly, hands on his hips. His voice drops to a whisper. "We're playin' hide an' seek"

"Well, there are no tinies in here. At least, that I know of." the Engineer answers. As you watch the scene unfold, you can't help but inhale all the dust that has collected underneath the table, making you sneeze. It comes out as a little squeak as you try to suppress it, and the two men whip their heads in your direction.

Demo grins as he notices you, but doesn't let you catch on that he's already found you. He saunters over to the table, leaning a hand on it as he speaks. "Are ya real sure there's no one else in here?" he questions aloud.

Engineer doesn't really help him play along, instead staring straight at you, surprised that you were able to sneak past him so well. He shakes his head returning to his work once more.

"Aye, where are ya, baby?" Demo calls again. "I've been lookin' fer hours!" he jokes, trying to coax you to come out.

Hesitantly, you tug on his pant leg from underneath the table. "'M right here, Demmy!" you giggle as you crawl out from underneath. Laughing, he scoops you up into his arms, tickling your tummy as you screech.

"There ya are, little one. Was startin ta miss ya." He smiles, but stops for a moment as he looks at you. "Well, you're just covered in dust, aren'tya? Somebody needs a bath, aye?"

You squeal, trying to squirm from his arms to avoid a bath. "No, Demmy, have to play more!" you demand.

"Ach, well, I suppose one more round can't hurt. I'll hide this time, alright?" he sets you down and sloppily runs out the door of the workshop. You giggle, and cover your eyes, not quite counting in order of numbers as you start from 100.

"100... 89... 86... 74..."

I remember when 3 Hopes first got leaked, and more importantly how many of the leaks turned out to be wildly inaccurate; stuff like Shez being called Bell, M!Byleth not being in the game, S-supports returning, the Agarthans getting woobiefied and potentially even being a faction you'd be able to join, and the game being a golden route where everyone gets a happy ending are funny to think about in retrospect.

The only major things i recall the leaker getting right were tea time returning, the game doubling down on the “Church Bad” aspect of Three Houses, and Shez having an Agartha-themed spirit buddy only they can see, hear or talk to.

Sure, those leaks were wild!

However, we still had :

woobified Agarthans : in the sense that Nabateans never get a chance to talk or to speak and the Epi paralogue had him lit said "i must protecc my fwends (the genocider who is kind of mad)" when the Empire and the Saints were hunting them

Golden route : this is totally ag

Joining the Agarthans : this one is a bit more tricky, but just like FE16 and Billy were more Nabatean attuned/coded/followed their narrative, Nopes and Barney follow the Agarthan one, this is why the ending scenes are completely reversed (what ended in light in FE16 ends up in darkness in Nopes) and why on a majority of the routes, the Agarthan goal is reached - Nabateans are dead. Heck, even in the vanilla/"normal" PT, you kill Sothis's host (since you most likely aren't supposed, in a first run, to recruit Billy'n'Jerry).

In that sense, AG is the Tru Piss of Nopes, Barney goes against the flow of the game and sides with his hallucination/ghost's enemies, ultimately helping them (tfw nabateans don't want to destroy people, they just want to return home).

Iirc the leaks from back then also developped a bit more about Barney's sword (the non Agarthan one?) when the main game dropped this angle entirely, so Barney is the only one in the verse who can use two swords, and they're totally not a Deviant Art OC.

Keyframes Updated!

Well, folks. Our eyeballs are falling out and the last two weeks have felt a little like cramming for an exam— which is very funny considering none of the leads have been in college for a minute— but we did it. The Spring Semester demo that isn't really a demo is up!

You can now finally(!) enjoy the last two weeks of your semester with Deja, Cameron, Elio, Jamie, and Percy. Play from five new events, completely free on our itch.io page— including partial voice acting, eight CGs, and about 280,000 words total!

As we've mentioned before, we are releasing this update ahead of the Kickstarter!

If you haven't already heard, the Kickstarter only aims to fund production for Summer. We'll explain the reasons for this in full detail later, but for now, keep an eye on our social channels for news!

It's been a long year of development and an even longer wait, and we're excited to hear what you all think. We'll be taking a short break to recuperate, but our askbox is open! (But if you encounter any bugs, please send a report to support@blankhousegames.com.)

💖 Day 3.5 is now available! 💖

For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

How to download and play the update?

(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!

Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)

It includes 27,000 new words, two new CGs, and various fixes/tweaks throughout the demo. We’re actually working on Step 2 at this point, Step 1 is basically done, so this is as it should be instead of the bonus preview that we had in the demo as an example of the teenage time period. However, right now that original Step 2 preview is not accessible in this build. The preview had skipped ahead in the story and included some explanatory lines that need to be removed now that the proper opening is available. We are working on editing/reprogramming the original preview to properly flow with the rest of the story. It should be added back next month!

You can access Step 2 from the Moment Selection Screen by clicking the “Fall Ended” button.
