Aranea couldn’t help but chuckle at the way the young king was looking at her. Of course, she was working for Niflheim, but she had still helped them in Steyliff Grove, and had even tell the small group she was planning to quit - which was true, she just couldn’t stand Ardyn and Besithia, and their experiments with the daemons. She also joined Noctis and the others to slay daemons, but it still didn’t seem to be enough, and she had to admit she found the situation quite funny. 

“Change that face.” She teased, a PLAYFUL smirk on her lips. “Your Advisor and your Shield won’t be happy.” Of course, she had to talk that way to the prince while the others were away, looking for some ingredients, for what Ignis would prepare that night.

This battle was getting sticky. Blue hues flicked over the monsters as they surrounded her, their growls filling the silence of the dimly lit forest. She had no one to blame but herself, she had gone to the forest for playing, even going as far as bringing a dark bottle to ensure it was a good fight. Moving to dodge another attack, she frowned before going into overlimit, hoping that whatever soul she summoned would at least kill off one of the monsters.

They were looking at all the pictures Prompto had taken since the beginning of their journey. They were living for Altissia quite soon, and it was a huge step, so the blonde had wanted to take a small moment at night to look at his pictures, and he was happy when his best friend had decided to join him. The picture they were talking about was the one of the four of them, in front of the Regalia.

“Of course, I think it will always be my favorite one…” He said with a soft smile on his lips. “It was the beginning, we were super excited, and we thought the peace will come…” He sighed a bit before he added, “I hope it will still come soon.”

It happened more often now that the dragoon spent time with Noctis and his friends. She often joined them to slay daemons, and that time wasn’t an exception. It was rarely the case, but this time, she had jumped too early, and had received the Iron Giants attack right on her stomach. She had fallen on the ground and was about to stand up even if it hurt when Noctis arrived and handed her an Potion. She wasn’t sure she NEEDED it - she had seen worst, and had learned to keep fighting even if she was bleeding - but she still appreciated it.

“Thanks, prince charming. Now, let’s kick their asses.”

He’s heard of the Chosen King, of Noctis Lucis Caelum, but never has Verstael actually met him—until now, he supposed. The young man’s identity is obvious; he’s been watching him flit through the air, blue and phantomesque in a way not unlike another man he’d known in the past.

The King Of Lucis, out in the dead of night, in the dark with the daemons. Not alone, but the distance that warping puts between him and the other shimmers of blue light ought to worry him more than it likely does. 

It’s easy for someone who’s been scourged, he feels the sting of light on his skin the minute it touches him and shies away from it. 

Verstael’s never been one for pain, after all, even if the scourge had made him a bit more... durable.

Still, when the prince ventures too far, takes out the final imp in his path, Verstael’s curiosity gets the better of him. 

“Do you have a death wish?” he asks, features obscured but not entirely hidden by the dark tint of night. What else could he possibly have, getting ahead of his group—his shield must be one of them—and putting himself in such danger?

@cfastralmvses ((yeah, I feel that. I have my choice between Switch and PS4 as well. And there are certainly other games that are out/coming out that I want too. Curse you holiday released games!!

And the characters are why I’m debating too. The main problem is that I can’t identify with Yuri like I can other Tales Protags.))
