Welcome to my blog

my name is sawyer, i am a hyena and ungulate cladotherian (cervidae, bovidae, cetacea), and a wolf kithtype. i am genderfluid and use she/him pronouns and my boyfriend is @melonthemelon27. i have been awakened since 2018 and my blog revolves around my experiences with therianthropy and my physical alterhumanity! my blog is open to all alterhumans and questions/asks. id love to meet other therians with experiences similar to mine, though I'm always open to new ideas and insight. ill also share some of my own art relating to theriotypes or my fursona x)

About me

i am autistic and a huge interest of mine has always been animals. before I discovered therianthropy, I called myself a wolf and associated animals with my identity. since discovering I was alterhuman, animals since then have always been a huge part of my self-discovery as I feel disconnected from humans besides zoology, another interest of mine is entomology! i own a few insects as pets, including a giant asian mantis and darkling beetles. I'm hoping to own more after college though. i also love game scoring, specifically the bloodborne and shadow of the colossus soundtracks, and I love media such as wolfquest, animal jam, resident evil, and saw!

besides being a therian, i am also heavily spiritual and very into daemonism. my daemon is a brown hyena named fenner (she/her) that is a representation of my soul. I'm also a (sfw) pet regressor and very into objectum, though I don't post about it as often on here as I have a separate blog for it. dni list : ummmm dont be mean or discriminatory! i am very open to other ideas, besides hate, because I use this blog as a safe space. I'm okay with paraphiles and kink-related blogs, so long as everything is consensual

Does anyone else feel largely disconnected from other therians?

I've joined discords, group chats, Twitter groups, Instagram pages, and many alike but each time I start to cement myself in one of these places I quickly begin to feel, for lack of better phrasing, alienated/othered. Not by any fault of the groups members [usually], it just becomes very clear very quickly the others don't share my same attitude or viewpoints in regards to therianthropy. I think this may very likely be an issue facilitated by the large age gap in online spaces' demographics surrounding therians, but in my own experience actually connecting with others [not even enjoying, simply tolerating the rest of my community] has proved to be very difficult.

Maybe I'm just an asshole, but sometimes it feels like I'm surrounded by children who don't really get what this is about, and by extension don't understand me, which is frustrating because understanding of this lifestyle and strange way we live is what I was looking for, only to find feigned likeness in a group I would otherwise never interact with. For reference I am a 19 year old part of the cervidae family [possibly fallow, but more likely axis/chital as I know I have spots, and feel my antlers, a central point in my gender identity, may deviate from a palmate growth pattern and steer closer to the forked lyre shape.]

While I don't typically like interacting with people younger than me regardless, I understand some of the identifiers and choices younger therians make will sound "silly" or "made up" but I feel this is a harmless part of figuring themselves out.

I was there too once, I don't judge them for it.

Its also easy for me to recognize many of us will be more assertive as we've been denied our identity, and this assertion will oftentimes come off as aggression or unwarranted criticism on ones character.

This isn't my issue, neither are the younger therians. My discomfort stems from the fact that every therian space I've been in I've felt some strange tenseness I cant put into words. I don't know what it is.

Is this just me?

My species may have some influence as deer are overall skiddish, and fallow specifically can be very aggressive towards others, but maybe there's a deeper flaw in our communities we're not seeing. Please start a conversation if you feel so inclined, I'd love to see what others think...

why are there so few cervidae therians on my dash

I’m kinda new to this because I only recently came to terms with being otherkin (I believe that’s the proper term?). I don’t exactly know what it is, it’s not really an existing animal and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve tried imagining what it would look like, but the only way I can describe it is a being with both feline and cervidae features. Anyways, I don’t wanna fill the ask with the entire description 😅.

1. Do you have any names based on nature, entities/deities, or forests? Could also be cervidae and feline related if it makes it any easier.

2. Based on my tiny description, do you have any idea of something that could fit that description? (Also, would you want me to fully describe it how I can?)

Otherkin is identifying as anything nonhuman, and therian is identifying as any animal ( it's under the otherkin/alterhuman umbrella ) and it includes mythic animals as well if that helps at all !! Species-wise- I searched a bit and there's such a thing as a calygreyhound and just a cat deer hybrid in general I guess ?? I'm not sure I'm sorry !!

Therian diary time again. I'm questioning possible hearttypes, so this is just some thoughts about that

I have a new possible hearttype/set of hearttypes?? Not confirmed but I was talking to a friend and I realized that I might be deerhearted, and the longer I've thought about it this week I noticed that I have really similar connections to multiple cervidae species (elk, moose, caribou, maybe more?). I have a very deep respect for deer (and the others) and feel some kind of strong connection to them, more spiritual, which is rare for me. It's hard to put into words, but it's definitely worth consideration since it is such a strong connection I'm feeling.

I have had it for a long time, I just never thought much about it I guess? I'm a predator animal, so I am typically more drawn to other predators. My current hearttypes are both predator species, after all. But thinking more about it, there's is Something about deer, moose, elk, and caribou.... hmmm.. At first I wondered if I am cervidaehearted in general, but atm I think the animals I listed are the only ones who I feel connected with in that family. I am gonna think about it and do some research and journaling, see what I can make sense of and maybe find some answers.

If any deer, moose, elk, or caribou are reading this, I think you're super cool and look up to your kind a lot!
