The Mewtwo tilts their head curiously as it watches the scene unfold. Everything appeared normal at first glance, that was until both 'mons began to scream and the Mew fell to the ground... Odd. Did something bad happen? Its curiosity got the best of them, and so, Cerulean decides to carefully approached.

ー ... Why are you two screaming? That's weird...

He spoke with a somewhat insensitive tone, typical of young kids. It sniffed the others, in an attempt to see if they were fine...

Little baby Kanto Ansy is so cute!!! Would you draw more of her?

I’ve actually been wanting to make something like this for a little while, hehe.

First we have a photo of Ansy with her 2 brothers & sister right before she set out. (IRL my big brother chose Charmander too, but that’s boring lol, when there were 3 of us (& one baby) for each classic starter - deal with it, Dr. Onii-san XD The reality is that he WOULD troll me with a type advantage XDXD).

Then we have small snapshots of Ansy’s short-lived first journey through Kanto. She got the Boulder Badge in Pewter City, then made her way back to her hometown, Cerulean City. There, she heard rumors of a VERY powerful Pokemon in Cerulean Cave. Being a good swimmer, she & Leonardo (Squirtle) made their way over there.

It didn’t end well.

Do Manaphy and May ever reunite in your timeskip or is this a ‘the movie isn’t canon’ situation?

Everything the anime did is canon to my AU, no matter how stupid it was (I just.. dont have the patience to rewrite things like that :v not to mention my fic list is already HUGE as is)

But I'll admit I haven't thought about that yet, but I don't see why not.

Gosh the idea that Brock (during one of his ranger-wild doctor gigs) is even the one to reunite the both of them is very cute for me too (give Brock that interaction with his unnoficial young sisters that the anime never did much with).

Came the Mewtwo's answer; their voice a bit quieter now. It appeared they had some hope to have find another one like him, yet he didn't appear to be exactly disappointed.

Their tail swish from side to side as it continues to peer up at Athena, tilting his head curiously at the mention of an "Origin Mew"ー a term it most likely never heard before.

ー Parent...

They repeat the word with a hint of longing, yet also... Contempt.

ー I had a parent, once... Yes.

The Mewtwo tilts their head curiously as it eyes the smaller 'mon, a curious gaze in his blue eyes. Carefully, it approaches Athena, like a littleー somewhat shyー kid. Cerulean points towards the stripes that line the Mew's ears, asking.

ー Stripes... You have... Stripes. Like me.

It pauses, seeming to consider their next words, wondering if it would be too rude too ask such a thing...

ー ... Are you clone, like me?

Athena sort of chuckles at the idea.. Her a clone.. Quite preposterous Athena thought.. Athena turned her back away from Cerulean, and looked af Cerulean directly...

"Kid, I am no such-"

Athena stopped in her tracks... Seeing Cerulean, a meetwo, yet so small... Athena could only see someone else however within Cerulean's eyes... Athena began to tear up a bit, but tried to remain at full attention towards Cerulean...

"Little Mewtwo... I am not a clone lile you I'm afraid... Where I come from, these marks mean you are an origin mew to your species... Do you have any parents little one? You can't be all alone here now.."

Overprotective! Mewtwo Concept

Pairing: Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Overprotective behavior, Manipulation, Mind reading, Violence, Murder, Blood, Slight gore, Forced companionship.

Before meeting you, Mewtwo spent most of its life in isolation.

It was created from Mew's DNA to be a weapon... a powerful Pokemon devoid of compassion.

When it escaped the labs, creating destruction where ever it went, it fled into one of the deepest caves in the Kanto region.

Mewtwo didn't expect to be found... It didn't want to be found.

Humans only caused trouble....

But then, years later, he met you.

You were Kanto's newest "Champion" who had heard rumors of a rare Pokemon deep in Cerulean Cave.

Once you managed to surf your way through to the cave and crawl deep within... you were greeted with Mewtwo.

Mewtwo wasn't fond of you, the idea of humans still finding it down here irked it.

"You are a foolish human to come down and find me."

The voice of the Pokemon rings in your head, its tail flicking.

"Begone with you!"

So battle ensues.

Your team was trained to deal with strong threats like this so you mostly handled things quite well.

By the end of it, a ball was tossed and Mewtwo was sealed.

Your "bond" with the legendary starts rocky.

Mewtwo was used to violence and being used.

It often ignored you and the little communication it did in your head with telepathy was usually cruel.

You often tried to get along, feeding the Pokemon and trying to touch it.

Mewtwo usually batted your hand away with a snarl.

"Stop trying to be nice! I am at your command, aren't you going to use me for your pitiful ideals?"

However, no matter how cruel Mewtwo was with you... You were never cruel back.

Mewtwo often observed how you treated your own team.

Despite how strong they were trained, it was done with care.

Mewtwo never understood compassion...

Not until it grew closer with you.

You surprisingly rarely used Mewtwo in battle.

You stuck with your team but kept Mewtwo around.

It had no idea for what... for chatter?

Why do you enjoy talking to it?

Mewtwo wonders if you know about its true nature.

Did you know that it's killed before?

Are you naive?

Mewtwo had no idea why it even decided to play along with this.

Did it really enjoy your company?

You treated it more like a fellow human than Pokemon.

You often wanted it to speak with you through telepathy... and it felt comfortable with this.

Mewtwo eventually began to see you as a companion.

You were technically its master, but it didn't see you like that.

Soon enough the powerful legendary even allowed you to pet it.

It felt nice... it has trouble admitting that.

Mewtwo has a vague sense of what compassion is, but it's still a weapon.

Compassion is only given to you and maybe some of your Pokemon.

You have tamed Mewtwo for the most part.

However... all that comes crumbling down the moment you're attacked by Team Rocket.

Mewtwo already had issues with other trainers.

The Pokemon would glare at those you communicated with, still not used to human contact.

Although, Team Rocket was a group Mewtwo couldn't cooperate with at all.

Mewtwo remembers what they did to it.

Which is why when it senses you in danger and comes out of its ball... the Pokemon freezes.

Team Rocket heard that the Champion had managed to tame Mewtwo and wanted to utilize that.

The thought makes Mewtwo shake.

Not from fear...

Rage.

It's at this point you lose control of the legendary

"How dare you touch them... I am not for you to use! I belong here... and I plan to stay beside them."

You can imagine that the end result isn't pretty....

Mewtwo has killed before, if you didn't know that before... this was proof.

Mewtwo doesn't feel any remorse when it attacks.

By the end of it there's corpses on the ground and Mewtwo's covered in splatters of gore.

"They'll blame you... You know that, right?"

Mewtwo's voice echoes in your mind, turning to you with a piercing purple gaze.

"Let us flee. I can find somewhere they'll never find you or me."

When you don't move, the Pokemon frowns.

"You see me as a monster, don't you, Champion?"

When you stare, Mewtwo steps closer before using telekinesis to drag you close.

The Pokemon mimics an embrace, even if you fear it.

"Let's be honest, human... I was always a monster... something that shouldn't exist..."

Mewtwo pulls you along, away from the murder scene.

"You may have changed me slightly..."

Its grip tightens as it carries you.

"But I will always be that very same monster."

i’m gonna be honest i’m just assuming this little cave with this massive bright light on this platform is gonna have a postgame legendary encounter of some kind that i didn’t get back when i was 13. it’s a very optional and out of the way path that also requires you to look in the mirror to see the entrance to, which is clever btw. and there’s nothing else in this room. i see what they’re up to

ok im still making my way thru this cave but i totally forgot about it and now that i’m here again i think it might unironically be the best cave in the franchise. pokemon caves rarely look or feel great, they’re all very same-y, but this one has the unique fun gimmick of the mirrors causing trainers to be able to see you in the mirror and turn to face you, it has actually interesting wild encounters at a low enough encounter rate that it isn’t annoying to walk around without a repel, AND it’s just a really aesthetically appealing location with a banger battle background to boot. 10/10 no complaints tbh as far as pokemon caves go

Sword x Shield - Memories

So…the response to my little sketches of Ansy’s very first journey through Kanto was unexpectedly more like Ikrit’s in the last panel there (thanks for caring about little Ansy 🥲)

As I shared in her timeline, she did go back 20-ish years later to Kanto with Ikrit (shortly after their Galarian journeys, a few years before DxP REWRITE) - she completed that first journey through the Indigo League, reaches Champion rank, then goes back to Cerulean Cave to catch Mewtwo for a much better scientist who would see to Mewtwo’s wellbeing & safe study (part of the reason game-Mewtwo was so violent was because they were never shown any love or care, & changes for the better after they’re caught).

Maybe I’ll do some sketches of that second Kanto journey, or they may end up in DxP - we’ll see! ^_^

Anyways, I realized I didn’t post this little comic here in my Sword x Shield compilation; figured this was a good time for it. Excuse the slight style change hehe - I really liked that dry ink brush back then.
