Lumi’s Adventures With Playing UGH A PLATFORMING GAME ARE YOU SERIOUS!? This Better Be Worth It Oh Wait It Is: I’ve crabbed a bunch about Jedi: Fallen Order’s gameplay mechanics and will continue to complain about them, but taking a moment to write a disclaimer--this is far from me saying that it’s a badly designed or obnoxious game, it’s just that I really hate platforming games and really intensely dislike timed combat instead of more strategic combat.  (I am forever and always a Final Fantasy gamer at heart.  I just want to overlevel my characters and beat them with ever bigger swords and wear special accessories that let me automatically regain health!  THAT’S ALL I WANT.  XD) It’s actually an incredibly forgiving game, where you’re not punished for falling off a ledge, you’re just dropped right back where you left off.  The save points are fairly numerous around the world and healing/replenishing healing stims just respawns the enemies in the area, which often isn’t that big of a deal, especially if you’re finished with that area.  There are different ease of playing settings, depending on how much challenge you want or if you just want to explore the game with relative ease.  I complain about the puzzles, but they’re actually pretty fun and mostly pretty intuitive. THAT SAID, I’M STILL GONNA YELL because I am F I N A L L Y leaving Zeffo and THAT GODDAMNED SET OF WIND PUZZLES, FUCK EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.  Okay, the one with the three spheres was actually kind of fun, that wasn’t terribly hard to figure out, but there was one slide in the Ice Caves of Zeffo where you had to go around TWO corners, which also meant jumping over gaps in the ice slides AND jumping just right to hit the air vent to cross over the huge gap (otherwise you fall and have to start the whole slide over again) AND you have to grab a rope to swing just right and I wanted to maybe cry a little because I had to do that one like TEN TIMES before finally finishing it. I still haven’t done the optional puzzle with the first sphere, because the guide I looked up on-line was like, “Turn off all the other vents, then turn on the central one.” and I’m crying over here because, “THE ROOM IS A CIRCLE, THERE IS NO CENTRAL SPOT, IT’S A FUCKING CIRCLE ROOM.” and eventually was like, “Nope, I’m out.” The thing I do like, though, is that aside from a couple of, “Ugh, how do I break this giant thing?” or “Where do I go from here?? I don’t see anything!” moments, I don’t really need a walkthrough, you can figure everything out from the marked points on the map or just wandering around until you see something new to climb or break or, if you need to, BD-1′s hints. I’m still glad to be leaving Zeffo, though.  I FOUGHT A PURGE TROOPER THERE AND HE KICKED MY ASS THE FIRST TIME AND STOLE ALL MY XP, I swear, he barely had any moments where he wasn’t attacking you and trying to block and/or evade those things was impossible.  And then I went back to fight him again and remembered, OH RIGHT I CAN SLOW HIM and, WHAM, I didn’t even need a single healing stim, because that worked like a CHARM. Also, shoutout to @cerejunda who was right that I don’t have to hold down L2 while climbing, despite that I swear I tried experimenting with that in the tutorial and kept falling off things, so I thought you had to hold it down the entire time, which was a pain because it meant gripping the controller too tightly and I felt like I was going to break it.  Now I can just hop up there and it’s much more relaxing, not worrying that I’m going to fall off to my death.  Again.
