Jared Padalecki Joins ‘Fire Country’ For Guest Arc That Could Lead To New Franchise Offshoot

EXCLUSIVE: Jared Padalecki is returning to series television. The former Supernatural star, coming off a four-season run as the lead of Walker, has been tapped for a three-episode arc on the upcoming third season of CBS‘ hit drama series Fire Country, headlined and executive produced by Max Thieriot.

He will play Camden, a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Thieriot) raw talent.

The deal with Fire Country producer CBS Studios is strictly for the recurring role, sources said. Given Padalecki’s status as a popular leading man with two hit series under his belt, I hear there is a possibility for the guest stint to lead to a new spinoff headlined by him that would join the upcoming Sheriff Country.

Sources stress that the idea is still in its nascent stages. And similarly to the NCIS franchise, which originated on CBS and has generated four domestic offshoots on the network but has also expanded into streaming with the latest spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva (as well as the streaming/broadcast NCIS: Sydney), a new Fire Country spinoff could be for broadcast or streaming. Reps for CBS and CBS Studios declined comment.

Fire Country, which was the most watched new broadcast series in its freshman season, was quickly identified by the CBS leadership as a potential franchise anchor that could spawn multiple spinoffs.

“We are focused on mass-appeal franchises,” CBS President and CEO George Cheeks said in June 2023. “This season’s number one show was Fire Country, which completely lends itself to building out a whole new universe… It became very clear that not only was the show special, it really felt like this could be a great example of us building together a franchise from scratch.”

The first Fire Country spinoff, the Morena Baccarin-starring Sheriff Country, which started off as a planted spinoff episode on the mothership series this past season, was recently picked up to series for 2025-26.

Keeping Padalecki in the fold has been a priority for CBS Studios following the end of its CW drama Walker, on which he was star and executive producer, leading to creating the opportunity for him on Fire Country. Walker was canceled for financial reasons despite being the network’s most watched series.

Fire Country averages more than 10 million viewers per episode in multi-platform viewing. (Live+35-day on Paramount + and CBS TVE)

Season 1 became available on Netflix in the US August 1 and has already reached #3 in the streamer’s daily rankings. This is an additional domestic streaming window for Fire Country whose first two seasons are on Paramount+. It is designed to give the show additional exposure ahead of its Oct. 18 Season 3 premiere on CBS.

From creators and executive producers Tony Phelan, Joan Rater and Thieriot, inspired by Thieriot’s experiences growing up in Northern California, the series follows Bode Donovan (Thieriot), a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, which sends him back to his hometown.

Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer also star. Tia Napolitano, who also serves as showrunner, executive produces alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Since the end of Walker, Padalecki also has discussed a role on the upcoming fifth and final season of Prime Video’s The Boys, developed and executive produced by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. He is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and Fuller Law.

The name of her game is social media, having started Instagram seriously a few years ago, when the age of influencers had first taken off. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott has received campaign donations above the $6,000 maximum from at least nine contributors this election cycle, violating state campaign finance law.

Most of the problem donations, which amount to an extra $29,250, are the result of multiple contributions — some made in early 2023, before the mayoral campaign was underway, combined with others made more recently. Maryland operates on a four-year campaign cycle, and individual donors are allowed to give only $6,000 during that span. The current cycle began on Jan. 1, 2023, and will not end until Dec. 31, 2026. Political action committees are not bound by the same rule.

Maryland State Board of Elections officials confirmed Wednesday that donations made in excess of $6,000 during that period would be a violation.

Scott’s campaign finance reports show contributions exceeding $6,000 from a mix of donors, most of them local and many regular donors to political campaigns. Developers and real estate leaders made up much of the list. Among them was Mark Sapperstein, CEO of 28 Walker Street Development; Thibault Manekin, a partner at Seawall Development; Alan Ingraham, CEO of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors; Dan Bythewood, president of La Cite Development; and Mark Caplan, president and CEO of The Time Group, a real estate equity firm.

Bythewood topped the list contributing $12,000 over the course of three donations made in January 2023, October 2023 and March 2024. His New York-based La Cite has a much-criticized deal with the city to revitalize the Poppleton neighborhood. Sapperstein donated $11,000 to the mayor spread between two donations made in January 2023 and January 2024.

James Haden, a donor associated with the Baltimore Recycling Center, also gave Scott $11,000 through two contributions made in January and August 2023. Haden and others on the list are associated with organizations that themselves have made contributions as well as other principals. The Baltimore Recycling Center has given the maximum $6,000 donation to Scott this cycle as well as his opponent former Mayor Sheila Dixon. Sapperstein, too, has donated to both Dixon and Scott. Insulator Drive LLC and Refinery Canton LLC, two businesses listed at the same address as Sapperstein’s 28 Walker Street Development, also gave Scott $6,000 donations.

Scott is facing Dixon in a competitive race to win a second term in office. The Democrat has served as mayor since December 2020. The two Democrats are also running against former prosecutor Thiru Vignarajah and businessman Bob Wallace, both Democrats. The group will compete in the May 14 Democratic primary which is likely to determine the outcome of the election in highly Democratic Baltimore.

Nick Machado, Scott’s campaign spokesman, acknowledged the excess donations calling them “administrative errors” and noted that only nine were made among approximately 7,000 donations made by more than 4,800 donors.

“In total, these corrections represented less than 1% of the $1.6 million raised thus far through the cycle,” he said.

Other donors over the limit included Brandon Wylie, co-owner of florist Fleurs D’Ave, who made $10,000 in contributions to Scott through three donations made in January 2023, August 2023 and January 2024. Pennrose, a Pennsylvania-based development company, gave $8,500 via two donations made in January 2023 and January 2024.

Jeffrey Hargrave, founder and president of commercial construction firm Mahogany Inc., donated a total of $8,500 to Scott via two donations made in January 2023 and September 2023. Hargrave was also twice a guest in the city’s suite at M&T Bank Stadium last year, records obtained by The Baltimore Sun via a Public Information Act request show. Hargrave received two tickets to the Sept. 24 game against the Indianapolis Colts and he got two suite passes to the Nov. 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The donations from the nine donors totaled $83,250, $29,250 more than the contributors should have been allowed to give.

Machado said the campaign has been working to reach donors to assess corrections that may need to be made to Scott’s campaign finance report. At least three refunds will be issued on Thursday, he said, while some adjustments may be handled as amendments to the report.

The ghostly little alligator may look like an animal with leech or albinism to the casual tourist , but this type of reptile is actually even rarer than leech animals and is known as the albinism or leucism alligator.

Unlike leprosy, which is characterized by a lack of melanin pigment (the pigment that determines skin and hair color), albinism is caused by a defect in certain pigment-producing cells. This means that white alligators are not animals with pale yellow bodies and pink eyes, but more like reptilian white walkers with scattered scales of normal color.

Mark McHugh , president and CEO of Gatorland Park, said in a press release: "For the first time in 36 years, since the nest of alligators was discovered in the swamps of Louisiana, the world is now witnessing the birth of the first alligator from those early alligators." This extremely rare and extraordinary crocodile is the first of its kind worldwide.

There are only seven known living alligators in the world today, and three of them live in Gatorland Park. To better understand this number, it should be said that there are between 100 and 200 known leech crocodiles in the world.

In August of this year, Ashley's hidden genes were finally confirmed by alligator breeders in Gatorland. The two-seed chicks from Ashley's eggs, fertilized by Jian, finally began to hatch, and excitedly watching park staff saw one of the shells punctured by a tiny white snout.

Baby crocodile has beautiful creamy white skin color and cold blue eyes. Compared to the normal color of this baby's brother, the female crocodile looks very attractive. According to park officials, both siblings are in good health. Their weight is currently about 96 grams and they are about 49 cm long. The two now live in the "White Gator Swamp" at Gatorland Park; This area is in the shade and protects the delicate skin of the alligators from the sun's damaging rays.

Like leeches, the skin of white alligators burns easily in direct sunlight, but unlike leeches, white alligators do not suffer from other genetic abnormalities that cause deformities, such as curvature of the spine.

Alligators are generally in good health and can live long and happy lives in captivity. However, according to Audubon Nature Institute experts, this skin color makes it difficult for white crocodiles to hunt and escape from predators in the wild.

Gatorland officials wrote in a published statement: "These alligators are incredibly special animals in the world of reptiles, and we are very concerned about their health and safety. "We plan to put these alligators on public display early next year so guests can see them, learn about them and fall in love with them like we did."

Gatorland Park is also asking the public for input on naming the two baby alligators. Currently, many suggestions, including Lucy and Ricky, Salt and Pepper, and Rice and Gumbo, have been shared by enthusiasts on social media.
