Kirin

Kirin share a lot of traits with dragons but are fundamentally different creatures. Like the Couatl, these creatures are a kind of demon. They are highly intelligent and mostly stick to their own demonic domains.

I sought one out at the peak of Mt. Jewel of the Crown Peaks, chasing rumours of a local wyrm nesting there. Instead I found Kami. It's easy to understand how one might mistake them for a dragon from afar, given the shining scales covering their body, but their extraplanar nature is unmistakable from close by.

On the Glorious Morning, The Princess Of Sakutopia, Japan Name "Princess Saphira Lorraina Fox" Who was On the Journey To meet the Oracle At the Temple In the Mighty Forest Mountains.. She Ride Her Mighty Kirin Name "Yuki" The leader and the King of the Herds on the Path to seek The Oracle, The reason Why she was Seeking the Oracle Is because She kept Rejecting alot of Suitors back In Sakutopia, Japan. One By one, Many Suitors are rejected by the princess because their hearts are nothing but greed and Dishonoring, and their Minds Are Power Obsessive and Abusive as well, Mostly they wanted the Throne and treat Saphira Like a "simple house wife, maid, servant, or Much worse of them all.. A Slave", Then her Father Decided to Send Saphira to Seek the Oracle At the Zhen Yuan Temple to tell her Whats Her Future Husband Will be soon and what Future Holds as well. When She made it to the Zhen yuans temple, the two Guardian Deities Came and saw Saphira wearing a beautiful Royal kimono and the beautiful Celestial Fox mask and She said,

Saphira:" Greetings, I am Princess Saphira Lorraina Fox Of Sakutopia and I am Here to seek the Oracle."

Deity 1: "And you've come to stay For the Night as well after Seeking the Oracle?"

Saphira:" Why yes, I must Know what Future holds, you see i was sent From m-"

The Second Deity cut off,

Deity 2:" Your Father, we know. The Master Is Fully aware that your here as well, Your More welcome to Stay and we have a Feeling that Master Tang and Those 3 deity will be arriving as well."

Saphira: "Oh? and who are they?"

Deity 1: " We'll Deal with it, So don't worry about it. Please Follow us."

As Saphira Follows the two Deity as they Guided her to the Nice Luxurious Guest room and She loves it very much and then She thanked them very much as she bows ..and then the two Deity sense that they have arrived, as one of them told her that She can feel free to explore until The Oracle finally arrives in the Form of the elderly Woman, She told Saphira That She is in Terrible Danger and that She will be Cursed By a Demon King Name "Yuandi" the First demon Who will put Saphira Into an Eternal Sleep But She will be Awaken by true loves Kiss From a hero Who was Known as "The Great Sage equal to heaven", Saphira was Shocked that Her Future Husband will be the "Monkey king". Then She asked How would this be possible? But the oracle Answers that Destiny has it's ways to bring Two immortal lovers Together For the good of Saphira's Kingdom.. She saw a green Weird looking caterpillar with a Pig face..when she gets closer, Pigsy Spoke saying "Hiya gorgeous!" Saphira made a Small screams and runs off from the garden saying the caterpillar can talk, She stopped and glance back and pants..She could've swore That this Weird caterpillar can talk, She Spawn a beautiful fan and began to fan herself like she's going to Faint, After fanning herself and began to walk on the boardwalk until She hears the Fluttering of the beetle as she sees the weird Pig face caterpillar again and he Spoke again, trying to flirt at her.. but then saphira Smacked him with her fan and hits the wall as he change back to the original self with a Puff of smoke and she runs off fearfully, While she was running and head to the Big Garden part and She looked around making sure that Pigsy doesn't followed her, When she thought it was coast is clear But She was Followed by a weird Brown beetle but turns out it was the monkey king in the beetle form as she gasp and began to fall backward but She was caught by his arms and he said..

not sure if anyone asked about the Monkie Glaive AU yet, but how does it work, exactly? I'm really curious to know about the group and character dynamics considering it's a Monster Hunter crossover! (I was listening to some MH + MHS themes today and it reminded me of this au ! :D)

Monkie Glaive

(I’m really glad you asked this! I was hoping to expand on this AU!)

So, to start- it basically transports the beasts and ecosystem of Monster Hunter into the world of Monkie Kid, which maintains a very high-tech and futuristic world.

It also turns demons and Celestials into monster-hybrids! Here’s five of the characters who are monsters in the AU:

For example, Sun Wukong is a Rajang, which means he can potentially tap into lightning abilities- after consuming a Kirin horn. He can also transform into a full-sized form, and is capable of entering a “Furious” state.

Also, instead of beetles or moths- glaive wielders partner with little FFM monkeys! These monkeys also take the place of Palicos! So, Wukong’s legacy spreads beyond his defeat of the Black Dragon- people to this day emulate his fighting style and actively live with his subjects in day to day life.

No single weapon- he cycles through old glaives and hunting horns as he pleases- after all, he gave the Ruyi Jingu Bang to MK!

Macaque is actually a Nargacuga! Instead of commanding shadows, he can turn invisible and fling spikes from his tail. And, like any Nargacuga, he’s sensitive to sound- especially to Sonic Bombs, and he’ll immediately enter a rage state once he recovers. Macaque wields Leumundslist, and has his own little melanistic monkey partner- she’s the only thing he really cares about. Although, meeting Y/N might just change that…

The Brotherhood is active even to the present day, having never been sealed in the Ink Scroll. They still command Camel Ridge and keep their “subjects” locked up nice and tight, refusing to allow any mortals amongst them to become Hunters or Riders. Instead, they themselves do the defending and fighting, and all their cherished mortals stay perfectly safe inside their walled kingdom- no one leaves.

But, with a little convincing and begging, a stranger may be allowed to come inside for safety and supplies- but only if they’re willing to stay. Expect to sign lots of contracts and papers written by Yellowtusk (who is a Gammoth, giving him the ability to create snow and ice. He wields the Iceshaker.) that were created for the sole purpose of keeping innocent and kind souls trapped inside their smothering protective city. These papers will be cited and show any time you try to leave.

Peng is a Gold Rathian, giving them the ability to both spit fireballs and secrete poison- instead of a tail, though, Peng’s poison is spread by their quills. Those quills also contains a mild paralytic, useful for quieting dissenters or subduing runaways to ferry back “home”. They wield the Gold Chordmaker and maintain a more supportive combat role than their Sworn Brothers. They’re usually first in line to track down any “wayward souls” that leave the loving protection of Camel Ridge.

Azure Lion is obviously a Lunastra, which gives him both a big pair of wings and ability to breath fire- as well as spread flammable dust to ignite later. With the Roilcloud Sword in hand, Azure has sworn to protect all his cherished prisoners subjects from the violent woes of a monster-ridden world- whether they like it or not. There’s not a single resident of Camel Ridge that he doesn’t adore with all his heart, nor even one that he’s forgotten the name of.

And not one is allowed to leave his care.

Two questions;

Can animals go to heaven/hell when they die? If so, do they look the same or do they change?

Since there are cerberuses and hell snakes, are there animals that are born/created and live in heaven?

Hell Tower Lore (The Stars)

Death will always come for everyone, no one excluded.

This is a pretty common phrase to describe how life can be really cruel sometimes, especially towards human beings. We come to the world, we grow and create bonds with other beings. And some of these bonds can really hurt when they get destroyed, especially if it's a friend we felt very fond of or it's something that you worked so hard on to bring it to light. Whether their earthly time has run out or they crumble apart before they could start their life.

What some people don't know is that the souls of animals and newborns are incredibly pure. When their physical body dies their souls always go to Heaven. But they don't become Angels.

They become small entities of pure light and bliss, living peacefully among the clouds and sometimes helping Angels to stay in the right path. Their energy is so powerful that they can enhance the powers and even slow down the process of the "breaking point" of any Angel standing next to them.

Hell Tower Lore (Heavenborns)

Doves: They might seem like common animals similar to pigeons, but they are actually celestial beings capable of traveling back and forth between Earth and Heaven/Hell without the help of an Angel/Deadly Sin. They are God's messengers par excellence and truly intelligent creatures, capable of recognizing the faces of people or places to which they are directed. Nowadays they're mostly used by Angel X Demon couples to communicate between Heaven and Hell.

Kirin: to not be confused with Unicorns (these ones live in Hell), these pacific and majestic creatures are capable of growing grass and flowers wherever they pass and they can be good companionships for any Angel.

Light Koi Carps: pretty much identical to common koi carps, they can be distinguished by their multiple eyes, more colourful scales, by how big they are when compared by normal carps (some of them can be as big as whales) and that they can both swim in water and fly into the air.

Cloud Spirits: pretty much the Heaven equivalent of Lava Spirits. They're small and fluffy creatures, they're not exactly built for fighting since they're capable of throwing small lightning and light snowstorms when angry. They can be either normal citizens of Heaven or servants of Heaven's guards. In the second case their job is to camouflage as normal clouds and report to the Powers any anomalies or weird activities happening on Earth.

Oh Chonny Jash fans of Tumblr, what is your favourite part of each of your HMSW2 designs?

I'll say mine (warning: canon-divergence ahead!!):

-Heart's droopy antlers (thank you Grimmie for convincing me to make them droopy instead of Kirin-like!!) are a BIG favourite of mine, they look so unique and the idea that they move like animal ears really really assists in having him express without visible eyes!! I also adore his bird tail, I NEVER knew how much I loved bird tails until I have him one, it practically completes his design. I've seen next to no Hearts with bird tails and that devastates me, he looks SO COOL WITH ONE!!

-For Mind, it's between his esca, which really fits with the aquatic theme and aids the idea of him producing sunlight from somewhere on his body, plus it's just so cute!! I also really really REALLY like how in my AU when he sleeps his eyes are closed upwards instead of downwards like how animals do, as demonstrated in this post!! I also have in my hero-villain crossover AU that Mind has a tail mode of code that can shapeshift based off of what the binary code on it says!! I may be a dirty Heart fictionkin (doubles DNI pls just putting it out there) but I loooooooove Mind and he's extremely close to being my favourite alongside Heart!!

-Soul's an interesting one, as he has a much more "generally human"-like design than Heart and Mind do; as, Heart and Mind are full ids while Soul became one. The iconic Trident tail is always a plus and the black and white eyes are a classic, but I think what I like the most is simply his extra limbs that he can manifest and his massive size. They're simple; but I love em!! Really makes him look menacing.

-Whole, similarly to Soul, looks mostly human, even more so as he's Soul before he lost his humanity. I think I like his constantly closed eyes the most, makes him look sweet and calm, and his classic halo + fleur de lis tail absolutely make him look holy. Actually, I just remember as I was typing this a REALLY cool design choice that Grimm and I made where Whole is specifically always drawn simply, in a cutesy artstyle, whilst Soul was always drawn detailed as a way to show the contrast between what life was like between the two!! The canon-divergence of this AU is really showing, heh.

-And finally, Soul Two! Yep, a joke character is canon, but only to a select few of the AUs. All of the critters have cheek markings based around the celestial body they represent; Heart has crescent moons, Mind has suns, Soul has a four-pointed star/a rising sun (depends on which author draws him), and Soul Two, whom represents astroid belts, basically just has freckles!! He also parallels HMS's animal-theming; Heart being flying animals, Mind being aquatic animals, and Soul being land animals, Soul Two is colony animals!! Which is why he's so bug-like, and makes sense why in the Main AU/Separation AU (both the "base" AUs) Soul, whom retains Soul Two's attributes as Soul Two never actually ended up splitting off from him, is cat-like, as cats are colony animals!!

-As a bonus, Heart's cat looks perpetually traumatised due to his wide eyes and eyebrow-like markings and that's still the best design I've ever come up with for a cat lol.

Over seventy-five-percent of these are things Grimmie thought of, I'm totally not obsessed no never I hate them they suck. Feel free to reply, reblog, or even just put in the tags the ones you like for yours!! I can't wait to see em. :)

DnD and Taoism

My friend @digitalagepulao recently told me about the "Heroes' Feast" from Dungeons & Dragons.

This reminded me of the Xingchu (行厨, "Traveling Canteen or Mobile Kitchen") from circa 4th-century CE Taoist literature. Immortals can summon this spirit cookery to feed guests with celestial food:

Another indication that the [immortal cultivator]’s alternative cuisine featured marvelous and exotic ingredients is the curious business of the “traveling canteen,” “mobile kitchen,” or cuisines de voyage (as xingchu 行厨 has been variously rendered), a sumptuous banquet of delicacies served up by spirits anywhere on command to those who know how to summon it. The ability to summon the traveling canteen allowed for easy procurement of distant, rare foodstuffs. In Traditions [of Divine Transcendents] we read that the adept Li Gen “could sit down and cause the traveling canteen to arrive, and with it could serve twenty guests. All the dishes were finely prepared, and all of them contained strange and marvelous foods from the four directions, not things that were locally available.” In the hagiography of Wang Yuan and Ma gu (Maid Ma) we read: When they were both seated, they called for the traveling canteen. The servings were piled up on gold platters and in jade cups without limit. There were rare delicacies, many of them made from flowers and fruits, and their fragrance permeated the air inside [their host Cai Jing’s home] and out. When the meat was sliced and served, [in flavor] it resembled broiled mo, and was announced as kirin meat (Campany, 2002, p. 29).

This could be an interesting alternative for anyone who has set their DnD campaign in a world inspired by Asian fantasy.

Empress Luna (Lunar Solstice): Divine Alicorn, Age 22

Empress of Cimmeria, Goddess of the Stars. Luna was devastated when she discovered the destiny she spent her life preparing for was meant for someone else entirely. One night, Luna decided to try and raise the Moon herself to spite Sombra. But to her surprise, bright lights began to move across the sky. Luna dubbed these lights stars, ascending as their Goddess shortly after. Luna was born a Nightmare Pegasus.

Nightmare Star (Celestial Equinox): Alicorn, Age 23

Former Queen of Canterlot, former goddess of the Sun. Once known as Celestial Equinox, Nightmare Star is a corrupted shell of her former self. While she was happy to see her partners and sister ascend, Celestia was disappointed upon realizing her ascension was not unique. The ponies of Canterlot also preferred the other rulers over her: Luna was gentle, Hope was caring, and Sombra protected them from harm. Celestia was seen as a spoiled brat who didn’t know the first thing about leadership. The final straw was when she saw Radiant Hope raise the Sun, the only thing ponies respected about her. On that day Celestia decided if her ponies didn’t love her, they would learn to fear her instead. Celestia was born a Kirin.

Empress Rabia: Divine Umbrum, Age 3,800*

Empress of Tambelon, Goddess of Darkness. Rabia is a noble, just ruler trying to bring happiness and peace to her people. She would have never expected one of her subjects to raise the Moon, but she adjusted quickly. Rabia is technically the Goddess of Darkness, but she doesn’t care much about her divinity. Secretly wants to retire and settle down somewhere with Luna.

*Rabia’s age is an estimation. Due to the time differences between Domina and Tambelon, the exact age of an Umbrum is nearly impossible to find.

[Vantas] The leaves rustled outside the windows of Light's bedroom... The sound of crickets and frogs muffled by wooden walls as the skylight above showed swaying branches and leaves, including the stars and the coming moon.

They had been resting for some time at most, their hooves crossed over one another as their chin lifted from their forearms. Their eyes traveling from their floor to their saddlebags and supplies from various trips... It had been awhile since they had managed to be in their own hometown, not to mention their own bedroom.

And now, they had woken up from their long rest- stirred by the bustling Fauna tapping the glass. It was tapping in small intervals, like that of a beat of music. Three beats then a small pause.

It repeated twice, three times, and lost its rhythm at about the fifth time it hit-- and in that same moment; the light from the moon was dead center of the skylight... Yet as the beautiful rays shined down through the glass, something felt off- and Healthy Light slid from their bed to investigate.

The Kirin would approach the light and stand dead center, lifting their chin up to the sky as they'd see the bramble surrounding the edges of the circular roof-- the moon full and unwavering as it seemed to have stopped in that perfect moment; a silence reaching their ears as the crickets and frogs had gone completely still.

Instincts suddenly roared, their gut feeling like it hit the pit of their insides as the moon had begun to shift unnaturally in their vision. The Kirin's body freezing in place as the moon transformed, the Celestial body's edges shifting to that of a square... The moon- had turned into a dice?!

Light continued to shine- as if the moon was still there when the dice fell, that object not leaving their sight as it grew smaller and smaller till it crashed through the glass of the skylight; the tiny object falling past their face and onto the floor as it clattered. The Kirin couldn't move for the glass would be in their way- their vision to the floor as an individual was seen in their peripheral view.

A stallion stood in the darkness outside of the faded spotlight, pink saturated hues pouring deep into the Kirin's soul as a laugh sounded. Cloven hooves tapping against wood as he gotten clearer to see.

"So much to protect, so much... to lose. Yet oh so doubtful of yourself."

A smile stretches on the stranger's face, before a fluttering piece of paper slid forward from the grey stallion's back and in front of the Kirin. The stranger's voice seeming to echo in the bedroom as he walked around the edge of the skylight's shine; as well as the shattered glass.

"You keep so much within you, like the knowledge of dearest comrades- to the monster you hesitate to let loose. Honestly- it must be exhausting hmm? So how about I give you a chance to grow?"

"Play a game with me; and relax your troubled mind~"

Healthy Light - The Six Sides

Standing under the shattered window, with pale Moonlight flowing into the room, and shards of glass scattered all around them, preventing them from taking but a single step, Light uttered not a word.

They knew not whence this figure had come, for the door was closed and they had heard no hoofsteps. Could it be they had stepped out of the shadows themselves, to stand before them, and to mock them?

Trying to find a weapon, their eyes darted across the room only to look back at the smiling figure, who was holding their armour and weaponry, before they tossed everything aside, out of their reach.

Then, their eyes fell once again upon the small, black, dice, which laid amidst the glass shards of the broken window. They slowly reached for it, trying not touch the glass, but still they got hurt.

As they held the dice, which was now stained ever so slightly red with their blood, dripping out of their wound, they looked at the figure with fiery fury in their eyes, and asked why they were here.

The stallion spoke not, only pointing to the ground before them, where laid a piece of paper, which held instructions to their game. Light turned to the smiling figure, looking at them questioningly.

As the stallion elegantly and effortlessly moved around Light, perfectly evading every single shard of glass, a terrible feeling grew within their mind, as the realisation of the situation kicked in.

As if the figure was made of shadows, as soon as they left the Moon's light, they vanished, nowhere to be seen, until Light heard their voice, whispering in their ear, but Light did not turn to look.

Closing their eyes and sighing deeply, Light asked the figure what it was they wanted from them, to which they said, to their surprise, they only wished to play a game, that will end up helping them.

They only had to roll this very dice, that was now stained a darker red, and play their game. Then, at the end, perhaps, they would end up stronger, or perhaps, they would not. But it was up to them.

With a heavy heart, Light rolled the dice, and when they opened their eyes, they looked upon…

centaurs? yeah i don't have to explain this one

dreamer's unicorn projectiles? has a horn, technically not a plain horse

pegacorn griffon skin? wings, horn, clawed front feet, feathered tail and hindquarters? definitely not a plain horse.

kirin? i mean they're not even technically horses at all even outside of guild wars depending how you look at it.

"horse" mini? yeah we know that's 3 skritt in a trenchcoat

gw1 skeleton horses have bone tails, spikes for manes, four horns, and four eyes(maybe six). not pure horse. i even googled horse skeleton diagrams to check if the tail bone was that long.

gw1 celestial horse? the body would be fine if it wasn't made of stars. not a flesh and blood horse, y'know?

Mr Gum Drops is simultaneously a pony and not a pony, in my book. he could be a rainbow moa for all we know! or he could be a horse. we don't know, we can't SEE him.
