LAST BUT NOT LEAST ITS TIME AND SKY LETS GO

Time

Time is a direct survivor of Order 66. He was a child living in one of the more remote temples when everything happened, and was able to escape alive by fleeing into the dense forests of the planet.

Time spent many years after that traveling on his own and not getting close to anyone out of fear of being found out, or worse, left behind. He holds a certain bitterness towards everything that's happened, and when he was a teenager, he was involved in a major incident on the planet Termina. Time finally decided to bury his saber on a remote planet after that, unwilling to take on the responsibility that comes with it.

Time actually ended up meeting Sheik and donning Mandalorian armor some time after that in his teenage years. He doesnt always gel with Mandalorian warrior ideaology, but he doesn’t truly fit the Jedi way of his childhood anymore either, after all the war and death he’s seen. He's determined to be strong enough to protect those he cares about, like Malon.

Time doesn't entirely get along with the Chain at first. (Especially Warriors and Twilight; Warriors reminds him of his old Jedi master, who wore a red scarf, and Twilight's saber looks suspiciously familiar.) The boys eventually grew on him anyway, and he counts them among the people he cares about.

Sky

Sky comes from a gaseous planet in the Outer Rim with settlements that float in the clouds, constructed far above its surface.

Sky's planet is a bit of a cosmic mystery, since it should be impossible for islands of solid rock to float; some theorize that it was constructed instead of naturally occurring, or that there is a unique combination of magnetic fields and orbits that make it possible, but no one knows for certain. Loftwings are part of the planet's ecosystem of impossible floating islands, and are an important part of the culture there.

Being so remote, the Empire didn't show much interest in Sky's home planet until Ghirahim showed up. The Empire hasn’t taken over his home yet, and he is determined to keep it that way, along with the rest of the Knights of Skyloft (including Sun). Ghirahim's interest in the planet involved rumors that there was an old Jedi temple hidden on its surface, and the secrets that were hidden within it.

Those rumors turned out to be true; there was an ancient abandoned temple on one of the floating islands, and Sky and Sun ended up discovering it before Ghirahim did. Sky also found a protocol droid named F1, and with Fi's help he and Sun managed to forge their own sabers with the only remaining kyber crystals there.

Sky's connection to the Force manifests mostly as visions, and he occasionally experiences strange, cryptic dreams as a result.

So ... what IS Astral Bodies?

Astral Bodies AU is an AU by @circusballoon, based around the concept of:

"Wouldn't it be funny if everyone else was celestial object heads and Loop was just a human?"

The exact plot is loose and varied, but the basic idea is that Siffrin eats a star. Something in the Universe breaks from all the wishes. ...Oops, now something is deeply wrong with the world. Humans are mostly unknown, considered a type of cryptid to the few who remember them, and all the people are replaced with celestial things.

Loop is a very sick (thanks to extreme craft exhaustion) and stressed human with no idea what happened and is badly pretending to be sent there to help.

Loop has no abilities, they can't access their Craft, they can't do calls or see what's happening, they just have their knowledge of the situation from their own experiences and what Siffrin--a black hole / collapsed star--tells them.

... Cue shenanigans.

Is this a fanfic?

Not ... really?? I make some little sketch comics for it but it's just a fun concept I made to play around with.

BASICALLY the conceit of my au is that hms are all deities and whole is just some cringefail mortal. heart is pathos, mind is logos, and soul is psyche. predictably, there is as much drama and violence and such as canon, because gods are just Like That. pathos and logos are always fighting, they represent opposite concepts after all, and psyche likes to escape the chaos by visiting earth in disguise and watching mortals live their lives. one of these visits they quite literally run into harmonia, like they collide and fall to the ground, and harmonia is So So apologetic and asks if it's hurt and she has a first aid kit if they need it, haha, he's pretty clumsy so he always has one-

and psyche is so confused and flustered by this {adorable} mortal fussing over it that it panics and disappears to the heavens in a beam of light. and harmonia has to grapple with the fact she accidentally knocked over a fucking god. is he going to get cursed? should she, like... make an offering?? he barely knows the social cues of humans, how the fuck is he supposed to unpack this???

basically whole is Some Guy who inadvertently gets roped into the drama of gods. unsure if this is good or bad luck but he's here now.

Celestial Water Monkeys

Was discussing in the notes of this post with @silverlycanthropelover about the possibility of Celestial/Stone Monkeys surviving the Great Flood by adapting to the sea.

One of the jokes is that "Sea Monkeys" (the frozen brine shrimp toy), are actually a misunderstanding of sea dragon records talking about the little mer-monkeys that inhabited their seas.

Basically

Ao Guang: "What are those things hiding in your mane?" Ao Shun, surrounded by tiny mermaid-like monkeys: "I dunno man, they just showed up one day, and they won't stop picking through my fur." Ao Guang: "Why haven't you scared them off?" Ao Shun: "Honestly? They are pretty adorable. They clean my body of parasites, and comfort me when I'm feeling unwell." Sea Monkeys: (*happy chirping + porpoise-like squeaks!*) Ao Guang: "They do seem very useful... How do I go about hiring them?" Ao Shun: "I believe you cannot choose them brother, they choose you." (*cut to hundreds of years later when Ao Guang is lying at the bottom of the East Sea, despaired at the loss of his youngest pup Ao Bing*) Sea Monkeys: "Chirrp?" Ao Guang: (*looks up to see a swarm of brightly-coloured mer-monkeys, all swimming around his gigantic body as they pick off the barnacles and parasites that settled in his depression.*) Leading Sea Monkey, petting the king dragon's face with sympathy in their eyes: "Chirrrrp." Ao Guang: (*smiles for the first time in weeks*) :')

Like pilot fish to a great white, the smaller creatures stick to dragons in a symbiotic relationship. The royal dragons are very protective of their monkeys. Ao Guang refuses to acknowledge the irony of a Stone Monkey being one of his greatest annoyances, whilst tending to his beloved servants.

Wukong has no idea that these little spiritual monkeys exist! To think that some Stone/Spiritual Monkeys survived the Great Flood by changing their whole biology, or existed even beforehand, is an amazing discovery!

The Water Monkeys are a lot smaller than Wukong or Macaque, being roughly the size of tamarins. They don't speak "human" languages very well, their vocal cords are more attuned to the calls of dragons and other sea life. They can still chirp and chatter as monkeys do, allowing for some delightful conversation between the Stone Monkey King (they do not recognise Sun Wukong as their king) and the school of excited fairy-like monkeys.
