what is gijinka
Gijinka is technically a pretty long and nuanced term, I encourage you to do your own research, but in general it’s adding “non-human characteristics” to humans.
Gijinka lairs were therefore players whose dragons were humanoid in nature, but had draconics claws/wings/talons/tails/crests etc.
Many of us had our dragons set up as shapeshifters who would shift from their humanoid gijinka forms into their dragon forms at a moment’s notice to fly/do battle/etc. for the ✨ drama ✨
I used it as a means to also explain how my dragons inhabited second age ruins when dragons are often many times larger than the humanoids of the second age

old FR tumblr was also great for getting called “a sex obsessed weirdo” for like, talking about your character’s adult lives lmfao
Or my fave “you only make gijinkas because you want to personally fuck your dragons” when in reality I just really loved the Disney show Gargoyles

Perhaps a hot take but alongside the glory days of Worldbuilding Wednesday on FRblr I also straight up miss the absolutely heinous dragon-fucking of TMI Tuesdays/Thirsty Thursdays
I see people on FRblr like, surprised? now? that certain people are like, attracted to the anthropomorphized dragons/fantasy races of the beastclans and I'm like.
"You're on the third party community of the dragon-autism website, bare minimum 30% of these people see that harpy and go '...would.'"
We used to be a COUNTRY.

One fun thing I guess is that it looks like my lore operates on Ye Olde lore and is out of fashion now in comparison to eight years ago lol

The Purans
Nestled in the highest valleys and glaciers of the Cloudscrape Crags where pure sunlight filters from the heavens lie the lands of Pura. Governed by a holy order of clerics dedicated to maintaining the precarious balance of the world by any means necessary and armed with the divine blessings of the Lightweaver and Icewarden the members of the order are lead by the archbishop Benevolence, an enigmatic and dangerous warrior devoid of pity and regret in the pursuit of justice.
Pura is a land under the jurisdiction of The Light of Order archibishop Benevolence and their order of holy warriors. It is from this seat of power that Benevolence watches the world and enforces order where and when needed. While the origins of the holy order remain shrouded in mystery one thing is for certain: their control has not and will not falter.
Pura seeks not money, nor expansion, but tithes and gifts of food and gold flood into the country in an almost ceaseless procession presumably from other clans and nations that have been on the correct side of the order's blade.
They have also taken note of the stirrings in the Sea of a Thousand Currents.
The archbishop deliberates.

The Obskertans
Obskerta, a kingdom of shadow and storm. In times immemorial two great fragments of the pillar fell on the border of the dawn touched forests of the Lightweaver and the parched mesas of the Stormcatcher. There they spread a darkness unlike anything dragonkind had ever born witness to, great shadow magic flooded the land and strangled the light from the area. In this violent land a dynasty took root and through the generations its progeny has produced the king Clotaire. May he rule eternal.
Obskerta is a monarchy teetering on the very precipice of launching itself as a major world power, or at least that's what its king Clotaire would like to have one believe. While it make come off as grandtsanding, the small nation has made a name for itself in recent years for its more than expansionist mindset after a bloody civil war in which the king killed all fourteen of his siblings in a bid for the throne.
Cloaked in steam and shadow Obskerta's primary export are its consructs brought to life through electromancy and the binding of the souls of the dearly departed to their machinations. With this near-endless source of of labor the nation's infrastructure grows more and more each day, and rumor has it that the king has set his sights on the Sea of A Thousand Currents.

The people of Totlak
Nations rise and fall in a ceaseless cycle of death and rebirth. Where the vastness of Dragonhome is touched by the bounty of the Behemoth’s saplings there lies a land untouched by the passage of time. Led by an ancient king the people of this land exist in an endless time capsule, but with the world on the precipice of change once again, can progress remain halted?
Totlak. A nation thought lost in the dawn of the third age, it is a country frozen in time. Few have found their way to the hidden city over the intervening centuries, fewer still could even begin to guess at it's location. Below the thrum of the barrier separating the its inhabitants, or perhaps caging them, there exists two factions constantly striving for a middle ground.
You have the the high council of Totlak, a collection of primeval earth dragons for which the city is names and the Adherents of the Greensoul, a religious sect of nature dragons that have coexisted with the inhabitants of Totlak since time immemorial. The council is led by their emperor Roku and the Greensoul by their scion the dryad Pasiphae. For centuries they have fought in a near endless cycle of whether or not to rejoin the rest of Sornieth.
There is no projected end in sight.

The Ohrans
The kingdom of Ohra is nestled on the edge of the lands of wind high in the mountains ruled by a dynasty dating back to the very beginning of dragonkind. The people of Ohra are kind and genial, oftentimes going out of their way to accommodate outsiders that have trekked into their homeland. They wait expectantly for the coronation and coming of age of their beloved prince Bhodi.
The country of Ohra's royal lineage is ancient and storied in the lands of the wind flight, though recently this unbroken line very nearly ceased to exist in a bloody coup that robbed the country of its rulers and the prince Bhodi of his parents.
The country itself is inhospitable in terms of travel and can only be reached by a handful of winding mountain paths that would prove nigh impossible for larger armies to travel, even the wind currents and thermals in these treacherous climes can only be navigated by the most experienced dragons of the wind flight.
Ohra is not known for their martial power, or their exports, but rather their philosophers and the quality of their navigators. Years of navigating the tumultuous air currents of Ohra make seasoned navigators surprisingly common in Ohran society.
