As Dan says in the Amazing Dan reaction video, "I was desperate to create my own brand on YouTube", you can see that desperation in his earlier videos especially pre 2012. I mean a lot happened that year, they move to London, start hosting a joint radio show and their brand becomes 'Dan and Phil'. Even past the phandom, shipping, privacy invasions, conspiracies ect, they were still known as Dan and Phil. Like they won the Radio 1 Teen award for best vlogger, even though they don't vlog and are two people.

They embraced it with the books and TATINOF, but looking back you can tell it was weighing on both of them, Dan especially. We now know that II was supposed to be the end, that it was both of them giving it their all, giving the people what they wanted before they stopped posting jointly. Honestly after seeing what they went through throughout those first 9 years it makes total sense why Dan would want that.

All of this makes the WAD era that much more gut punching. It must have meant the world to Phil to see his partner do this show. A show that was born out of so many 'failed' projects, pain, and injustice. He got to see Dan saving his own life over and over again, see him be authentic, help so many people. And throughout all of this Phil is having his own chronic health issues, the greenening, stresses ect. But we see him support Dan through it all, the texts in WDAPTEO 3+4, the orange heart tweet, promoting Dan's book when he wouldn't do it enough himself, he'll always be Dan's biggest cheerleader. They just love each other so much and its beautiful to see.

I love to see how Dan credits Phil in his solo projects. Most of the time it's not how one would expect someone to be credited. This type of work obviously happens all the time but Dan puts it into words and makes sure that we know at least a fraction of what Phil is doing.

I feel that people has underestimated Phil for so long, I remember people would hate on him for being less 'edgy' than Dan, for making different kinds of videos, even when he came out half the posts I remember seeing were comparing their videos and not appreciating that this man just came out. to millions of people...

I'm just so grateful to be in an era where they don't have to hide their appreciation for each other, where Dan can call Phil a power bottom, post pictures in a joint Halloween costume, and be genuinely proud that they beat Jesus/Jedus in a RPF shipping poll??

While the hiatus sucked I'm honestly glad it happened. I'm just so excited to see what Phil does next and when there is an eventual Phil solo project, I'll know Dan will be cheering him on the whole time🧡

madeline celeste hcs bc i am so so so insane about her

french canadian on her mom's side, creole on her dads. pretty estranged from her dad's side of the family but she keeps in contact, her mom's side is garbage so she's cut them off.

speaks french and english, english is her second language. will very dramatically shout "ALLONS Y" before dashing away.

her favorite taste is sweet, but she also specifically likes savory-sweet. will destroy a honey ham. drove 3 hours to get arbys brown sugar bacon

after the mountain she's still able to dash even when off it, and if she doesn't for a while she gets a really bad build up of excess energy. also, if she was afraid of heights before, she isn't now

she stunned the pants off of everyone in the climbing gym when she showed up and bounded up every single wall with ease, unharnessed, no hand chalk, nothing.

my headcanon for the ishimondos is that they get together after high school and eventually chihiro joins and they all live in one big polycule and chihiro and taka go to uni while mondo brushes up on his carpentry skills while still coleading the gang because he’s lowkey scared of losing it yk and taka starts to distance himself with so much work and getting a liiiiittle too focused on politics while chihiro is just desperately trying to keep them together even though she’s also still fighting demons regarding yk. being strong and how she feels like she’s weak and gonna be the reason they break up because she can’t keep them together and. and then they all get in a really bad fight over taka basically killing himself with work so he leaves and loses contact with like everyone in the class. and meanwhile chihiro and mondo spiral into unhealthy codependency where they both feel like they’re simultaneously the reason why the other is doing so badly but also why they haven’t left yk. and mondo starts to freak out because he doesn’t know how to actually start a business or get orders while chihiro’s still working her ass off in university. so they’re all kinda at their wits end and then graduation for both chihiro and taka happens and while chihiro tries to have a good time taka just grabs his diploma and leaves pretty much immediately going to work and shit. and after campaigning for prime minister as early as he fucking can like fresh out of uni type shit he realizes “oh my god i fucking hate politics what am i doing” but he feels like he can’t call chihiro and mondo after their argument because it’s been like three years since he’s talked to anyone. so at like one in the morning after a lot of debating he calls hina fucking crying his eyes out explaining the situation and she’s like “YOU HAVEN’T TALKED TO ANY OF US FOR THREE YEARS???? no wonder you’re doing so horribly!” and he’s like gee thanks so she and sakura come over to console him and basically kidnap him to drive to mondo and chihiro’s and. oops it’s just mondo’s now because they both realized they were literally only making each other worse but now mondo’s living paycheck to paycheck because again how do you get orders for a carpentry business right out the gate of making it yk. and taka apologizes because he’s like “it’s my fault i shouldn’t have drowned myself in work” so he and mondo make up and they decide to just live as roommates for a while. chihiro often stops by to bring stuff over because she also feels really really bad about everything. and mondo finally retires from the gang for good because he’s like “i’m almost thirty and i want to almost move on” not move on in a bad “fuck you guys fuck this shit” way but move on in a healing/starting a new chapter way. then mondo’s business actually kinda starts to do well and taka decides to go into something still related to politics but not prime minister this damn early and shit starts to look up. then they move to the countryside because mondo was secretly building that house for taka and they cry an shit and their wedding is on that plot of land and chihiro comes up to them all “see? everything worked out for us :)” and after serving one term as PM at a reasonable fucking age taka is like “well this was fun goal achieved” and then he goes into farming and uses the whole outdoor area of his and mondo’s house to build a small farm where he grows their food and sometimes gifts different fruits to hina as an “i owe you for basically getting me out of rock bottom” and mondo has a giant workshop where not only does he still have his old motorcycle but also all of his carpentry stuff and th. they all live happily ever after 🥺
